Prasanna Vadanam Review: Concept with Logic

Prasanna Vadanam Movie Review

Prasanna Vadanam Movie Review

Telugu360 Rating 2.75/5

Telugu audience are waiting for realistic content along with a visual experience. Small films without stars should have unique content and interesting narration. Suhas has been doing impressive set of films right from the initial days of his career. He is testing his luck with Prasanna Vadanam and the lead actor in the film suffers with face blindness. The film released today and here is our review of Prasanna Vadanam:

Story:

Surya (Suhas) loses his parents in an accident and he suffers with face blindness. He also cannot recognize the voices of people. He can trace or identify some of them with some different signs. Surya is a witness of a murder but he is unable to trace the suspect because of his rare disease. He calls the cops and informs about the murder and a series of attacks are attempted on Surya. He lands into several troubles because of witnessing a murder. The rest of Prasanna Vadanam is all about how he comes out of this mess.

Analysis:

Prasanna Vadanam has a unique point of face blindness and it was never attempted in Telugu cinema. Attempting such genre is a risky task. Suhas suffers with face blindness after an accident and he gets involved in a murder which is a unique idea. Arjun, a protege of Sukumar is making his directorial debut with Prasanna Vadanam. Sukumar himself announced that Arjun played an important role in his films and he is the man behind the interesting logics in his films. As expected, Prasanna Vadanam has enough valid logics. The story starts right in the first scene of the film and opens about the suffering of the lead actor. Even the love story is narrated with the logics and the suffering of the hero. They are written with fun.

The film turns interesting after the murder scene. But the film doesn’t happen on a serious note and it is because of the love track. The stories like Prasanna Vadanam should be narrated sticking to the point without any deviations. The director did not keep the suspence and revealed about the murderer in advance. But the murder mystery and the twists are narrated in an engaging manner. The interval bang is narrated in an interesting way.

The narration in the second half should have been better. The director passed time by deviating the real plot. Some of the episodes are quite lengthy and they should have been quite crisp. Govind episode runs for ten minutes and it is quite boring. The unfolding of the murder mystery lacked gripping narration. The flashback episodes are not interesting. The climax of Prasanna Vadanam is quite gripping and it is narrated well. It is designed using the colour concepts. Some of the logics are well connected. Prasanna Vadanam is like a mixed bag and it has enough impactful scenes along with boring episodes.

Performances:

Suhas is a natural actor and he is picking up roles that suits him and his body language. He is not much interested in films that are high on heroism. He did his part well. Prasanna Vadanam is a film with a huge miscasting. The director did not pick renowned faces for even prominent roles. The roles of ACP, SI, Varun are a misfire because of the choices made. The leading lady Payal is not great with her looks.

Director Arjun handled some of the episodes with perfection but he falls short of making Prasanna Vadanam a successful film. The screenplay should have been better. The interval bang and the climax episodes are well narrated. There is lot of boring and unwanted stuff throughout Prasanna Vadanam. The production values are not great and there is no scope for songs. The background score made with visual mix is haunting. Prasanna Vadanam is a decent film and it should have been better.

Suhas’ unique plan keeps him busy with Eight Films

0

Suhas wanted to become a tv actor and he ended up as a lead actor in Telugu cinema. Color Photo is a game changer for the actor and he did a decent set of films in Telugu over the recent years. He established a decent market and he recently hiked his fee. Suhas is the first and best option for the producers who are in plans to complete films in the budgets of Rs 5-6 crores. Suhas is charging a decent Rs 1.5-2 crores which is quite affordable when compared to his solid non-theatrical market. The producers of all his recent films made profits.

Suhas has lined up 8 films and he is occupied for the next 3 years. Still producers are rushing for the dates of Suhas because of his affordable remuneration. Most of the young Tollywood actors who haven’t tasted success from the past few years are demanding double digit remuneration. Hence, the producers are keen to rope in Suhas for their upcoming films. In a recent event, Sukumar compared Suhas to the next Nani of Telugu cinema and heaped praise on the youngster. Suhas’ upcoming film Prasanna Vadhanam is hitting the screens this Friday and Suhas suffers from face blindness.

How Suhas missed Allu Arjun’s Pushpa?

0

Suhas proved his mettle as a comedian and then he started taking up lead roles. Color Photo is a major breakthrough for the actor and he is picking up interesting films. His next film is Prasanna Vadhanam, an interesting attempt directed by Arjun, a protege of Sukumar. The grand pre-release event of the film took place last night and Sukumar attended the event as a special guest. He lauded the work of Arjun and his contribution to his previous films. He also appreciated Suhas calling him the next Nani of Telugu cinema.

“Allu Arjun likes Suhas so much. We have discussed about casting Suhas for the role of Keshava that was played by Jagadish. But we came to know that Suhas is doing lead roles and he is busy with many films and we did not approach Suhas for the role” told Sukumar. Though Suhas missed an opportunity in Pushpa, he is busy with several interesting films in Telugu cinema.

Ambajipeta Marriage Band Film Review

Ambajipeta Marriage Band Movie Review

Ambajipeta Marriage Band Movie Review

TELUGU360 RATING: 2.75/5

Malli (Suhas) is a member of the marriage band in Ambajipeta town. His father runs a salon, elder sister Padma (Sharanya) works as a schoolteacher. Venkat is the landlord in the village. Malli loves Venkat’s sister Lakshmi (Shivani Nagaram), Venkat gets angry at Malli’s family after knowing the matter. He insults Padma and Malli badly. And what did Malli do in retaliation? That’s the rest of the story

This is a simple story which is like hundreds of older movies. The movie starts with the love story of Malli and Lakshmi. There is not much justified narration about why did Lakshmi love Malli? 90s love stories are really special and Ambajipeta Marriage Band has that flavour. Blending the right emotion and bringing the right actors is very crucial for a film like Ambajipeta Marriage Band. The film starts off with the love story of Malli and Lakshmi. The love story is simple without many logics.

Yamma song is shot well and the beat sounds good. The song brings the needed momentum after the song. Venkat tries to dominate the scene. The sister’s role brings the needed emotion for the love story and things turn interesting. The film turns serious before the interval episode. The interval episode raises the questions about Malli’s revenge and how he wins his love along with revenge.

The director carried the film’s theme well. The second half of Ambajipeta Marriage Band brings the feel that it started on a strong note. The hero’s family starts protesting outside the villain’s house. The film’s pace is quite slow and outdated. The second half of Ambajipeta Marriage Band kills the energy in the audience. The concept of Mouna Poraatam was used partially when needed and the logics are left away. The police station episode is the only saviour for the second half of Ambajipeta Marriage Band. The episode is well elevated as a woman starts revolting and the film continues to be high till the climax.

The climax may disappoint some of the sections and it sounds cinematic. If the director opted out for an interesting climax, Ambajipeta Marriage Band would have been far better.

Performances:

Suhas exhibited dual shade in the film. He played a mischeous guy in the first half of Ambajipeta Marriage Band. He sounded more intense in the second half. Suhas is apt in the role of Malli and he performed well. Shivani Nagaram looked natural and realistic with her looks. She did her part well in the role. Saranya is the film’s biggest asset and she even dominated Suhas with her performance. Her character too was well designed and presented in Ambajipeta Marriage Band. The villain role is well written. The director picked up the right actors for the roles and they did their parts well.

Sekhar Chandra proved that he can even do mass beats and ‘Yamma’ is an example for it. The background score too is well done by him. Some of the dialogues in Ambajipeta Marriage Band are well written. The production values are grand for a film like Ambajipeta Marriage Band. The producers believed in the content and went ahead without compromising on the quality. The first half of Ambajipeta Marriage Band is entertaining and the second half is emotional. But the film ends up at the interval episode as the climax and the second half offers nothing new. Overall, AMB movie is a decent pick for those appreciate serious cinema.

Writer Padmabhushan Movie Review

Writer Padmabhushan Movie Review

Telugu360 Rating : 2.75/5

Actor Suhas has come up with a family entertainer ‘Writer Padmabhushan’. The film is about the hopes of an aspiring writer to achieve success. From the day the teaser was released, movie is carrying good buzz. Let’s take a look at the complete review of the film:

Story:

A young writer Padmabhushan (Suhas) dreams of ending up as a famous writer someday. He publishes his own book by taking a loan of Rs 4 lakhs and is so passionate to make everyone read his book. He even drops free samples at parking lots and at a friend’s saloon. But no one shows interest in his book. Suddenly, Padmabhushan’s uncle Ramana Rao comes into the story with his daughter Sarika (Tina Shilparaj) claiming that they both are good fans of his work and brings in a marriage proposal. Padmabhushan comes to know that someone is using his name as a publisher. He remains silent and enjoys success with some guilt. The rest of the film is about Padmabhushan investigating about the writer who published a book in his name and how the twists in the story get unfolded.

Analysis:

Writer Padmabhushan’s story starts in Vijayawada, who lives with his middle-class family. Director Shanmukha Prashanth’s writing is fresh and we can see the struggle of a writer in every frame. The interval block comes with a twist and it was well handled by the writer. Kanna’s (Gowri Priya) character is one more addition to the story and the second half has less entertainment when compared to the first. Director has missed a few logic at times and has predictable twists and turns. The film manages you to have a smile on your face from the very beginning scene to the end. Some hilarious scenes add mileage to the film. The interval twist and climax portions are one more asset to the film.

Performances:

Suhas is best as always. He plays the titular character. He expressed the struggle of an upcoming writer with fine expressions. Padmabhushan’s father Madhusudhan Rao (Ashish Vidyarthi) and mother Saraswathi (Rohini) are one of the highlights of the film. Their acting is good and they enjoying the success of their son with pride is remarkable. The film is packed with fun, emotions, humour and sentiment. But, the chemistry between the main lead is not up to the mark. Tina and Suhas’s chemistry dint came out well, yet Suhas and Tina are good when we look at them individually. Suhas’ expressions and struggle for love made the scenes come out well.

Sekhar Chandra’s music helped the movie big time. Venkat R Shakmuri’s camera work is also plus point for the film. Shanmukha Prashanth has succeeded in a good film with good humor. Production values are good. On the whole, Writer Padmabhushan is the right mix of entertainment and emotions.

Verdict :

‘Writer Padmabhushan’ is a fresh story with simple fun moments here and there Plus a good climax. Casting and performances work in favor, on flip side twists are cinematic. Overall, a decent watch for families and class audience.
