0

Hyderabad police have booked a case against the Congress’ Telangana chief Revanth Reddy and other party leaders for taking out a rally without permission on Wednesday.

The rally was organised on the occasion of Reddy taking charge at the Gandhi Bhavan, the party headquarters.

Reddy had taken out a rally with his supporters after offering prayers at Peddamma temple in Jubilee Hills and had reached Gandhi Bhavan after passing through several busy areas including Nampally where he stopped to offer prayers at the Dargah Yousufain.

The rally had led to taffic jams at several places in Jubilee Hills, Banjara Hills, Khairatabad, Lakdi Ka Pul, Basheerbagh, Moazzam Jahi Market, and surrounding areas, causing severe inconvenience to people.

The Begum Bazar police booked a a case against Reddy, also a member of Parliament from Malkajgiri and state Congress Working President Anjan Kumar Yadav and others.

The event was marked by grand celebration by the party. Leaders from various parts of the state had descended on Gandhi Bhavan, where a public meeting was also organised.

The party workers burst firecrackers and played loud music.

The Congress leaders were booked under various sections of the Indian Penal Code (IPC), including unlawful assembly and public nuisance. The leaders were also booked for violations of the Disaster Management Act as Covid protocol was not followed, a police officer said.

Things that Revanth Reddy did right on his Day 1

1

Morning shows the day, so goes the adage. Telangana PCC chief Revanth Reddy’s day 1 shows that he is playing his cards right and is doing things right. He has given ample indications that he will lead from the front. Here are the key positives of Revanth Reddy’s speech on the day of his taking charge as the Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee.

PROMINENCE TO CADRE: He has given enough indications that the party would be driven by the cadre. Unlike the hitherto practice of a handful of leaders deciding everything, Revanth Reddy said the party workers will lead the party to victory in 2023. He said the party cadres were like the Vanara Sena (the army of monkeys) that helped Lord Rama liberate Sita and slay Ravana. He also said that the Congress does not need Prashant Kishores. He said every party worker was both a PK and an AK 47. These comments were greeted with lusty cheers.

HIDING AMBITIONS: When some enthusiastic party workers shouted that Revanth Reddy was going to be the next CM, Revanth not only cut them short, but also said that the Congress Party will work through collective decisions. There would be Jai only to Sonia and Rahul Gandhi and none else. This is a clear indication that the next CM would be decided by the Centre.

SHOW OF STRENGTH: Unlike many PCC chiefs of the Past, Revanth managed to stay in the headlines throughout the day. He did not want the PCC chief’s ascension a hush-hush affair. Starting from worshiping at the Peddamma temple, to long-winding day-long impressive procession, he showed that he has the support of the youth in a big way. His rally was dominated by youth. Also carefully orchestrated garlanding, bursting of crackers gave an impression that there was a real challenger to KCR.

TARGET BJP: Revanth Reddy’s speech talked about all major temples and pilgrimage places in Telangana. Repeated references to Ramayana, Lord Rama, Vanara Sena and other Hindu motifs indicated that taming the BJP would be his first task. He did not want to give the BJP a chance to speak about its Hindutwa brand of politics. So, he himself tried to appropriate some motifs from the Hindu party.

Revanth ‘pacifies’ disgruntled Cong leaders before swearing-in!

0

Newly appointed TPCC chief A Revanth Reddy could successfully pacify the disgruntled senior leaders in Telangana Congress and garner their support a day before his swearing-in-ceremony as TPCC president.

Revanth is set to take charge as new TPCC chief on July 7.

Revanth visited the residences of senior Congress leaders on July 6 (today), who are angry at Revanth’s appointment as TPCC chief.

Revanth first sent former MP Mallu Ravi as his envoy to the residence of CLP leader Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka.

Mallu Ravi held talks with Bhatti, who is his brother, pacified him and sought his support for Revanth. Bhatti agreed to work with Revanth.

After this, Revanth rushed to Bhatti’s residence and sought his support and blessings. Bhatti said he is ready to work with Revanth to bring Congress back to power in Telangana.

Revanth later met Marri Shashidhar Reddy, who resigned to various party posts in protest soon after Revanth’s appointment as TPCC chief.

Later, he met D Sridhar Babu, who was in the race for TPCC chief post. Sridhar Babu felicitated and congratulated Revanth.

After that, Revanth rushed to Sangareddy MLA Jagga Reddy’s residence, who strongly opposed appointment of Revanth as TPCC chief from the beginning. Jagga Reddy also expressed his support to Revanth later.

Finally, Revanth could successfully convince all the Telangana Congress seniors except Uttam Kumar Reddy and Komatireddy Venkat Reddy and garnered their support just a day ahead of his swearing-in as TPCC chief.

Revanth is trying to meet Uttam and Komatireddy also later.

Revanth to take charge as TPCC chief on July 7 with a big rally!

1

The newly-appointed president of Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC) A.Revanth Reddy will assume office at Gandhi Bhavan, Nampally, Hyderabad, on July 7.

Revanth will hold a huge rally in Hyderabad from his Jubilee Hills residence to Gandhi Bhavan.

Revanth will offer special prayers to Jubilee Hills Peddamma Talli before proceeding to Gandhi Bhavan at 10 pm.

The rally will proceed from Nampally Dargah to Gandhi Bhavan.

Revanth will take charge as TPPCC chief at 12 noon.

However, doubts are being raised whether senior Telangana Congress leaders will attend Revanth’s programme or not at Gandhi Bhavan.

Seniors are upset at Congress high command appointing Revanth as TPCC chief, who is much junior to them and joined Congress less than four years ago from TDP in December 2017.

Bhongir MP Komatireddy Venkat Reddy already openly expressed his ire over Revanth’s appointment saying that this happened like the “cash for vote” case in New Delhi.

However, Revanth is trying to take all party senior leaders along by meeting senior leaders at their residences every day and taking their blessings.

Revanth is telling seniors that his only aim is to dethrone KCR from CM’s chair in Telangana and requesting all seniors to cooperate with him and join his fight against KCR and TRS government by keeping aside all other personal agendas and political differences.

Revanth is requesting all leaders and cadre to get united to launch a strong fight against TRS and KCR and bring Congress to power in Telangana in the 2023 December Assembly polls and thank Sonia Gandhi for granting statehood to Telangana realising the six-decade-long dream of Telangana people.

Revanth is Telangana PCC chief

Finally at long last, Revanth Reddy has been appointed as the Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee President. The Congress High Command has formally announced his anointment. At the same time, the Congress did a fine balancing act by appointing five working presidents. Thus, the AICC has ended months of uncertainty in the state.

The AICC, which dillydallied for months, has decided to go ahead with Revanth Reddy. The party rank and file has openly backed him, while some seniors opposed him equally vehemently.

Former MP-cricketer Mohammad Azharudding, former minister Geetha Reddy, Jagga Reddy, Anjan Kumar Yadav and Mahesh Kumar Goud were appointed as working presidents. Mallu Ravi, Chandrasekhar, Niranjan, Javed, Podem Veeraiah, Suresh Shetkar, Vem Narender Reddy, Mudiraj and Damodar Reddy have been appointed as vice presidents. Damodar Raja Narsimha has been appointed as the chief of the election committee of the party. Madhu Yashki Goud too has been given a key post. Leaders like Mallu Ravi and Jagga Reddy have welcomed the appointment of Revanth Reddy.

Quite significantly, the party has completely ignored leaders like VH, who have been strongly opposing Revanth Reddy. Even Komatireddy Venkat Reddy, who vied for the top post has been left out. However, sources say that he would be given a key post in the AICC.

Why was Telangana PCC chief’s appointment postponed?

0

One expected the Congress High Command to announce the Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee chief by June 24. However, that did not happen. As they say, there coud be many slip between the cup and the lip. The same happened in case of TPCC chief’s post.

Congress sources say that a secret meeting between the two leaders, who are considered most favourites in getting the coveted posts, is responsible for the delay. These two leaders, who are camping in Delhi for the past fortnight to lobby for the top post, have secretly met in Delhi to discuss politics. These two leaders had decided that whoever among the two might become the PCC chief, they should see to it that the seniors in the party should be sent to the Lok Sabha. They should see to it that the seniors will get MP tickets and that the assembly tickets should be given to younger lot.

The details of this meeting have somehow got leaked and have landed in the lap of senior leaders. They reportedly prepared a letter giving all the details and sent it to the high command. Now, the Congress high command, which went through the five-page letter, is trying to verify the details. It is because of this that the announcement of the PCC chief was postponed. Now the PCC chief’s name would be announced only after the inquiry is done.

Congress clears all hurdles, Revanth to be Telangana PCC chief

It’s now almost official. The Congress High Command has reportedly cleared all the hurdles in the way of appointing TPCC working president and Malkajgiri MP Revanth Reddy as the Pradesh Congress Committee chief. An announcement is expected late on Monday.

The Congress High Command is said to have convinced those opposing Revanth Reddy’s appointment. AICC secretary for Telangana Bose Babu has spoken to leaders like Sangareddy MLA Jaggareddy, former MLA Maheshwar Reddy and former MP Madhu Yashki Goud. Komatireddy Venkat Reddy, who is a strong contender for the post, was called to Delhi and asked to fall in line

Sources say that the senior leaders, who were opposing Revanth Reddy, would be suitably accommodated. Seniors like Shabbir Ali, Damodar Raja Narsimha and Madhu Yashki are likely to be appointed as working president. The party will have working presidents from minorities, SCs and BCs. Ponnam Prabhakar, who is currently a working president, has already been accommodated in the AICC.

Interestingly, though seniors have opposed Revanth Reddy, many ground level workers have supported him. Party’s state affairs incharge Manickam Tagore has already submitted a report to the high command, recommending Revanth’s name for the coveted post. Out of the 265 leaders consulted, over 220 have strongly backed him. Revanth himself has been camping in Delhi for the past 15 days along with his family to lobby for the top post.

Revanth, a charismatic crowd-puller, has begun his political career in the TDP and later shifted to the Congress Party. He was made the working president of the party. He had later won as the MP from Malkajgiri constituency. Since then, he has been lobbying for the top post in Telangana.

T-Cong mulls PIL against ‘Water Grid’ corruption

0

T-Congress is planning to file a PIL in High Court on Water Grid project taken up Telangana government for the lack of transparency and the alleged corruption in the involved in the appointment of contractor for the massive project. TPCC president Uttam Kumar Reddy said the TRS government had violated all standard norms of conceiving and executing the water grid project indulging in massive corruption. He said there secrecy shrouded the project all levels. The Congress leaders also appealed to NABARD and HUDCO to be cautious in granting loans as this project lacked transparency and full of manipulations and corruption.

“father and son(chief minister KCR and son IT minister KT Ramarao) joined hands to favor one particular that is close to their family . This is unprecedented peculiarly and happend only Telangana,” he said. There was no information on what the actual utility of the project was, he said. “The detailed project report is not kept in public domain and inaccessible even to opposition parties. The project value has been escalated by more than 40%,” the PCC president added.

Stating that the government was not responding to the Congress demand to make the detailed project Report (DPR) public, Uttam said the whole project appears to have been conceived only to indulge in massive corruption and amass illegal wealth. “The project tender norms have been framed to favor a particular company which is close to the family of KCR, so that the so called company and their proxy outfit would benefit from the contract,” he said.

The Congress party, he said, was doing deep research and analysis of the whole project and surely would expose the corruption of the government in the on-going assembly session. ” we promise to the people of Telangana that we will not leave TRS and their corruption go scot-free,” Uttam said.Ex MP Mallu Ravi and Dr Sravan Dasoju, Chief were also present in press conference.
