Allu Aravind shelves web shows for Aha

1

Allu Aravind floated his digital platform ‘Aha’ with utmost enthusiasm but the response was mixed. Most of the shows fell short of expectations and it is clear that they are made on strict budgets. Though some of the scripts sounded innovative, the directors lacked enough hands experience in handling web based content. Almost 25 new shows are planned and they are expected to be released on Aha before the end of this year. Then came an unexpected shock through coronavirus.

Allu Aravind is said to have spent ample time, re-checked the scripts and shelved some of the projects. At the same time, he inked deals with several Tollywood directors and offered them decent budgets if they are ready to come up and direct web series for Aha. He is also in plans to lock Megastar Chiranjeevi for a project to bring extra mileage for the digital platform. Allu Aravind is working hard to bring Aha to track with a series of interesting shows.

Tollywood directors turn Consultants for Aha

1

To dish out the content that would appeal to the audience, veteran producer Allu Aravind is in plans to rope in a bunch of renowned directors for his digital platform Aha. Frankly saying, not a single show from the OTT platform received a decent response. Allu Aravind hired a team from Mumbai who could not find refreshing plots and interesting concepts that would appeal to OTT audience. He was left in rethinking mode because of the lukewarm response the shows on Aha received.

Allu Aravind is in talks with Tollywood directors who can spend ample time and finalize interesting content for Aha. Directors like Vamshi Paidipally, Nandini Reddy, Chandra Siddharth and VI Anand already gave their nod to turn consultants for Aha. All these directors are in talks with aspiring writers and youngsters in their circles who already penned interesting scripts. Allu Aravind is quite confident in changing the face of Aha with the arrival of these talented directors on to the board.

Is Allu Aravind repeating his mistakes?

1

The whole Tollywood, fans and the audience were quite eager when Mega producer Allu Aravind announced a digital streaming platform Aha. Leaving many in shock and surprise, the content failed to live up the expectations. Allu Aravind and his team were much focused on producing as many projects as they can on limited budgets so that they will have a huge collection. Picking up the right content and making quality web films are ignored because of which the platform was criticized.

Aha is now in plans to produce and release 20 web series by the end of this year. Allu Aravind approached several directors but they are left in shock with the allocated budgets. Hence he is in talks with several aspiring debutants to direct content. Allu Aravind seems to have been repeating his mistakes and he is in a hurry to produce several projects soon after the lockdown gets lifted as the audience are watching web series due to the coronavirus scare.

Allu Aravind should focus on innovative content and produce them with utmost quality if he wishes Aha to turn a tough competitor for digital giants like Amazon and Netflix. Else, Aha would get vanished in this new world of digital space.

Aha new shows fail to impress: Application Down

0

Though Allu Aravind and his team say that the shows of Aha are hitting millions of views, it is purely lagging behind when it comes to delivering some quality content and interesting stuff. The recent shows ‘Locked’ and ‘Sin’ fail to impress the audience. They are quite flat and they lose the steam in between leaving the audience irritated. From the past 12 hours, Aha application is down and it comes up with a pop-up message that it is down due to technical issues and will be back soon.

When the whole country is under lockdown and the users spending ample time on OTT platforms, Aha is down which is sure a shock for the team. They are working hard to retain it at the earliest. Some other shows will be launched soon. Directors like Krish and Maruthi are working on some of the shows. Allu Aravind wanted to acquire the digital streaming rights of Tollywood biggies but most of the filmmakers prefer to sell them for Amazon or Netflix. Tough days ahead for Aha.

Allu Aravind’s Mega Plan wasted

0

Coronavirus turned out to be a spoiler sport for the plans of many. The shoots of several films are canceled and they would miss the planned release dates. Mega Producer Allu Aravind launched his OTT platform ‘Aha’ in a low key affair and the grand curtain raiser event was planned to take place on March 25th on the eve of Ugadi. He hinted that he would introduce all the investors in this big project and as many as 25 web series will be launched on this occasion.

Due to the huge impact of coronavirus, the event got canceled. With the closure of theatres and the entire country shut down, people are much focused on OTT platforms. Social media turned out to be a platform for debates and youth, families are spending ample time watching content on OTT platforms. Allu Aravind missed a great opportunity at this time. If he had conducted the event a week in advance and released the shows, they would have received terrific traffic.

Allu Aravind as of now is not in a hurry and he is in plans to wait till things settle down.

Allu Aravind targets young directors for Aha

0

It is clear that the shows in Allu Aravind’s OTT platform Aha received mixed and poor response. To stand in the race and compete with digital giants like Amazon and Netflix, Aha should come up with shows that have unique and exceptional stuff. Allu Aravind collected the feedback and he is said to have taken the suggestions from his industry friends.

He is in talks with several young and talented directors who can direct web based films and shows. Sudheer Varma, Deva Katta and Vivek Athreya already signed contracts with Aha. Allu Aravind is in plans to rope in some more directors and produce web series that appeals to OTT viewers. His team prepared a list of directors who can direct interesting content in feasible budgets. Allu Aravind is personally interacting with the list of directors. Along with these, Aravind is also focused on acquiring the streaming rights of several Telugu films.

Allu Aravind’s proposal for Aha irking Producers

1

Mega Producer Allu Aravind ventured into digital space and he floated his own platform ‘Aha’. Naming it an exclusive digital platform for Telugu movies and web series, Allu Aravind sought support from several top producers of Telugu cinema. He is said to have approached several top filmmakers who are quite active and are producing back to back films. Allu Aravind’s arrival excited them but his proposal left them irked.

Allu Aravind is keen on introducing a ‘profit-sharing’ basis through digital views. With Amazon, Hotstar and Zee5 paying a huge amount for the digital rights of Telugu biggies, Allu Aravind wanted to pay nothing but he decided to share the revenues as per the received clicks. Most of the producers are against the proposal as Amazon and others are paying huge advances for big-budget films and are acquiring the digital rights for fancy prices. The recent shows released on Aha too received poor response.

When there is tough competition for digital rights, Allu Aravind’s proposal of revenue sharing will not make Aha a successful platform anytime soon.

Allu Aravind turning a tough competitor for Amazon

0

With the huge rise in the number of viewers for films on OTT platforms, digital giants like Amazon, Netflix are investing huge amounts to acquire the digital streaming rights of Indian films. Amazon has been leading the list and the platform turned out to be comfortable for Indians as the subscription price is Rs 1000 per year. Netflix failed to reach all the corners as it is quite costly when compared to Amazon. Mega producer Allu Aravind is all set with his OTT platform ‘Aha’ which was launched in a low key affair.

He is now in talks with all the leading production houses to ink deals and acquire the streaming rights of all the upcoming biggies.
