Ace production house Mythri Movie Makers maiden OTT project titled Sathi Gani Rendu Ekaralu bringing to Telugu people’s favourite OTT Aha on May 26th. The teaser of the film promised a hilarious entertainer. Today makers unveiled the intriguing trailer.

It begins with Sathi played Pushpa fame Jagadeesh Pratap Bandari trying to sell the valuables in house to pay for his daughter’s treatment. But accidentally he finds a suitcase from a car and the funny and bizzare that follows after that forms the story.

The fun filled ride with an exhilarating cut impressed the audience. Especially the tracking shots, rich visuals and the arresting background score are main attraction. It looks like it’s going to have unexpected thrills and turns.

The film is directed by Abhinav Danda, and is set against the backdrop of the small village, Kollur. Touted to be a dark comedy, Sathi Gani Rendu Ekaralu boasts an ensemble cast including Vennela Kishore, Bithri Sathi, Mohana Sree Suraaga, Raj Tirandasu and Aneesha Dama among others.

Aha is already into the Telugu and Tamil digital space and this year faced huge losses. But they are eager to create unique and vast content because of which they entered into Tamil this year. Ravikanth Sabnavi was appointed as AHA’s new Chief. Now they are into a new way of media. The first edition will be out from July 1st and most likely they are going to enter into digital media along with printed media. An official announcement will be out very soon.

Aha reports Huge Losses

Regional OTT platform Aha has doubled its loss. For the last financial year Aha was in losses of Rs 26Cr, but surprisingly this year Aha has been in deep losses. As per the filings of Arha Media & Broadcasting Pvt Ltd, which operates Aha, with the Ministry of Corporate Affairs (MCA), for this financial year, Aha has noted Rs 92 cr losses. They have spent nearly Rs 80Cr on the content and operator revenue raised around Rs76Cr

The OTT platform has spent around Rs 200cr this year and most of the part of it (Rs 74Cr) was shown as employee benefit expenses. Aha has extended its services to Tamil this year. Only through subscriptions, the Telugu OTT platform has generated a revenue of Rs 68Cr. Approximately Rs 5cr came from satellite rights and Rs 2.5cr came from syndicate revenue. Aha has appointed Ravikanth as the new CEO and EX-CEO Ajith Takur has been shifted to the board of directors.

National, 27th March: aha, the fastest growing local OTT platform, recently announced that it will invest over Rs.1000 crores over the next 3 years to expand into newer genres and languages as well as to finance its ambitions of becoming a complete regional entertainment platform. In line with these plans, aha has announced changes in its leadership today. Mr. Ajit Thakur, the current Chief Executive Officer (CEO), has been elevated to the Board of Directors of aha and will be driving its future-facing initiatives, including aha Studio. Mr. Ravikant Sabnavis, an industry veteran, will be taking charge as the new CEO with immediate effect.

Welcoming the new CEO, aha’s promoter, Mr. Ramu Rao Jupally, said, “We are delighted to have Ravikant on board as the new CEO. aha will surely benefit from his rich experience, which spans many industries. Ravikant is passionate about fostering the growth of homegrown businesses in India, encouraging new ventures, and nurturing emerging talent. Commenting on Mr. Thakur’s elevation to the board, aha’s promoter, Mr. Allu Aravind, said, “Ajit has been with aha since the inception of the company. In recognition, we are elevating him to the Board of Directors. In his new role, he’ll continue to guide aha and focus on building newer initiatives, including aha Studio.”

Mr. Sabnavis has over 30 years of experience and has honed his skills across organizations in diverse industries, including Star TV, Kingfisher Airlines, Force India Formula One Team, United Breweries, Heinz India, and ConAgra Foods. Mr. Sabnavis presently holds concurrent roles as a Charter Member of TiE – Mumbai and a member of the Startups & Entrepreneurship sub-committee of the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) Western Regional Council.

Over the last 3 years, aha, the 100% local OTT has always aimed at providing its viewers with clutter-breaking shows and entertaining content. With its latest launch, ‘Telugu Indian Idol 2,’ aha is set to unleash a wave of musical magic that will resonate globally. The biggest singing stage opened with a befitting, star-studded launch event in Nellore with 15,000 people attending it on-ground with lacs watching it from their homes on YouTube Live across Telugu speaking states and the global Telugu speaking diaspora.

The highlights of the evening were the breathtaking performances by this year’s judges SS Thaman & Geetha Madhuri (Judge Karthik could not attend as he was out of country) and host Hemachandra. The event also had given a preview of season’s audition glimpse and promo anthem which was sung by Karthik, Geetha Madhuri, Hemachandra and music By SS Thaman. Aha also launched Mandakini, the second daily series centered around mythology and the supernatural.

Vagdevi wins the first Telugu Indian Idol title

Telugu Indian Idol has been streaming on Telugu digital platform Aha and the show gained good reception from the audience. The grand finale of Telugu Indian Idol is now available on the platform and Megastar Chiranjeevi graced the final to announce the winner. Vagdevi bagged the first-ever Telugu Indian Idol title. Megastar Chiranjeevi announced the winner and handed over the trophy to Vagdevi. She also bagged a prize money of Rs 10 lakhs from the celebrity guest. Vagdevi, Vaishnavi, Pranathi, Jayanth and Sreenivas are the finalists of Telugu Indian Idol.

Speaking about the show, Vagdevi thanked the judges and mentors for the support. She said that her rigorous hard work paid off well. She also thanked Aha for the wonderful opportunity. Sreenivas and Vaishnavi are declared as the runner-ups for Telugu Indian Idol. The runner-up Vaishnavi bagged an opportunity to sing in Chiranjeevi’s upcoming film.
