How much vote bank does Janasena have? ( Part-2)

We have discussed in the previous article that there has been a debate on how much vote percentage Janasena is going to have. In a recent interview, Pawan told, he had 18% vote bank in 2014 and that helped TDP pull it off as Janasena did not contest but only supported TDP. ( https://www.telugu360.com/how-much-vote-bank-does-janasena-have-part-1/ )

Any discussion on Janasena tend to get comparison with PRP. Political opponents always say, Janasena will also end up another disaster like PRP. Political supporters of Janasena always say PRP got good vote percentage but votes did not properly convert into seats. PRP got 17% vote bank but only 18 seats out of 294 seats. Had this 17% votes converted to seats, it would have been 50 seats for PRP. But parties with no cadre and new political parties always will have this difference between vote percentage and seat percentage.

Let us use this PRP vote bank data to help assess Janasena vote bank. Whether people agree or not, both Chiranjeevi and Pawan got huge hype for their parties because of 2 factors – one is, they belong highly populous Kapu caste and people have tendency to vote based on caste equations in India, second they have huge fan following among youth belonging to other castes too and voting behavior of youth always confused psephologists. Because of this similarities, PRP voting pattern and result definitely give us sufficient clues on Janasena vote bank.

PRP performance is as below in 2009. Out of 175 assembly seats (excluding Telangana region):

PRP stood at 1st Place: 16 seats (18 seats out of 294 including Telangana)

PRP stood at 2nd Place: 27 seats

PRP stood at 3rd place: 128 seats

If we see vote percentage for PRP including Telangana, stats are as below:

Total votes polled in AP (including Telangana) for PRP: 68,20,845

Total votes polled in AP (including Telangana) for all parties: 42058446

PRP vote percentage in entire state 6820845/42058446 = 16.2175

PRP fans and Chiranjeevi always say, PRP got 17% vote bank and 70 lakh votes. Probably they did “too much of rounding-off” and Trivikram might have got the definition of “round figure” from them and used that concept of round-figure in his Khaleja movie. Just kidding. To be specific, PRP got 68,20,845 votes ( 1,79,155 less than 70 lakh) and 16.2175 %

Click here for part-3 -How much vote bank does Janasena have?

If we see vote percentage for PRP excluding Telangana, stats are as below:

Total votes polled in AP (excluding Telangana region) for PRP: 48,41,918

Total votes polled in AP (excluding Telangana) for all parties: 25223976

PRP vote percentage in AP (excluding Telangana) 48,41,918/2,52,23976 = 19.196

There might be approximations in the decimal fractions of this percentage, as some postal votes are not considered.

We will see in next article whether this 19.19 will be retained for Janasena or not.

Chandrababu Naidu begins witch-hunt on Pawan Kalyan

0

Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu is at it again. He had not given permission to any party in the last four years to hold protests. He did not allow the parties to hold protest for the prime demand of the state, special category status in the post-bifurcation. He wanted everyone to hold any sort of protest in Delhi and not in Andhra Pradesh. Now, he does a volte-face and holds protests in the State, with the Government becoming his Telugu Desam Party’s propaganda agency.

Now with Jana Sena chief Pawan Kalyan going hard against Chandrababu Naidu in the Uttarandhra tour, he began his witch-hunt. The Visakhapatnam police have delayed giving permission for the Jana Sena chief’s tour in Araku area for the past three days. As permissions have not come yet, Pawan Kalyan is taking rest in a resort and three days have gone from his calendar.

The Jana Sena had been crying foul of the police partisan attitude since he began his tour in the region. The government did not provide police security for him. The police did not care for his tour, particularly in traffic diversion and regulation, as required. This had put him in big trouble in Srikakulam. He was denied permission to go on two-day fast too in Srikakulam district where he had to hold the fast in his resorts on the first day and allowed to sit in fast in the government college grounds only on the second day.

Pawan Kalyan is targeting Chandrababu Naidu and his son Lokesh attributing corruption cases much to the discomfort of the TDP boss. Interestingly, Pawan Kalyan is hitting the TDP leadership harder than Jaganmohan Reddy these days, which prompts Chandrababu Naidu to use police to deny or delay permissions for the Jana Sena chief’s programmes.

As Chandrababu Naidu had his official programmes in Uttarandhra the other day, the police did not allow Pawan Kalyan to be on the roads for the past three days. “As the Chief Minister’s programmes in North Andhra are completed now, we are expecting the police to clear our leader’s tour today or tomorrow,” asserted a Jana Sena leader.

Pawan Kalyan gives serious warning to TDP

0

Jana Sena chief Pawan Kalyan had given a serious warning to the ruling Telugu Desam Party leaders on attacking him. “You will not be able to move on the roads if you don’t stop attributing motives to me. My Jana Sainiks would seal your future if you continue like this,” was all that Pawan Kalyan had told the TDP leaders.

Intensifying his attack on the corruption and failures of the TDP government in the State in the last four years, Jana Sena chief is addressing the people at various places and at every meeting Pawan Kalyan is hitting the TDP leaders hard. He went strong and hard against the government for spending Rs 13 crore in the name of Nava Nirmana Deeksha where the Chief Minister makes political speeches. “The government should have spent this money to provide drinking water to the people or health care to the kidney disease victims of Uddanam area,” he felt.

Focusing more on the Uttarandhra, Pawan Kalyan is targeting the TDP and YSR Congress leaders from this region holding them responsible for the backwardness. Ashok Gajapathi Raju and Atchanniadu from the TDP and Botsa Satyanarayana from the YSR Congress are his targets since he started his tour in the region on May 20. “The leaders from this region have grown big over the years. They are rich and developed too. But the people and the region remained backward. They are responsible for this backwardness,” was the scathing attack that Pawan made on these leaders.

Interestingly, Pawan Kalyan is not sparing Nara Lokesh wherever he addressed a meeting. There were instances where he did not mention the name of Chandrababu Naidu but referred to Lokesh accusing him of indulging in high corruption. Sometimes it looks like Pawan Kalyan is targeting Lokesh more than anyone indicating that he is intending to seal the young Minister’s future.

Ask CBN to drink this water! The issue will be resolved – PK

1

Janasena Chief Pawan Kalyan who began his ‘Vizianagaram Tour’ yesterday continued to lambaste AP CM Chandrababu Naidu and his TDP government. Responding to the water problem in Parvathipuram municipality, Pawan Kalyan came up with an advice to resolve the drinking water problem in the municipality.

Showing a bottle of local municipal water, Pawan Kalyan said, ‘I request the people to make our CM Chandrababu Naidu drink this very same water. Only then he will understand your problems. It is obvious that people are suffering from diseases like Cholera, and other communicable diseases drinking this impure water.

Whoever comes to Parvathipuram, ask them to drink this water. Let it be MLA, MP, or even the CM, give them this water. Only by doing this, the problem will get resolved’.

Though Pawan Kalyan’s arguments make some sense, it is still unclear whether the people who are turning out for Pawan’s Yatra, are really in support of him ata political front.

Janasena – Concerted effort on all fronts

2

Many political analysts overlooked Pawan Kalyan’s Janasena party until very recently, tagging it as a Pro-TDP, and Pro-BJP party. Things completely took a U-turn after the ‘Janasena Aavirbha Sabha’, held on March 14 2018. What seemed like a pro-TDP party, became the most anti-TDP party in a matter of hours.

No wonder the Telugu News Channels dubbed Janasenani as the greatest threat to CBN’s CM chair in the upcoming elections. Similarly, Janasena party maintained silence when Senior TDP MP, and former Central Cabinet Minister Ashoka Gajapathi Raju claimed that he has no idea who is Pawan Kalyan.

The same thing has been brought to light in the ongoing Srikakulam Tour of Pawan Kalyan. The Janasenani reminded that he went for campaigning for Ashoka Gajapathi Raju in 2014 Lok Sabha Elections to Vizianagaram, after the latter requested. TDP leaders are giving enough opportunities for Pawan Kalyan to target. Meanwhile, Janasena is using the ‘baseless comments’ by TDP leaders against them.

At the same time, Janasena representatives are shedding light on the happening things in the state, rather than indulging in hypothetical claims, and baseless allegations. Janasena is cleverly deploying its statements across social media. The sarcastic jibes taken by Pawan at CBN, Lokesh, and TDP, is circulating widely on YouTube, and social media.

It won’t be long before the Telugu TV News Channels start focusing on Janasenani, given the TRP he brings.

Pawan Kalyan warns of Trifurcation in the state!

2

Janasena Chief Pawan Kalyan who took part in a roadshow in Srikakulam district has warned that there is a possibility of ‘Trifurcation’ (breaking into three parts) of Andhra Pradesh. Speaking to the massive crowd along the way, the Janasenani said, ‘if the State Govt. shows prejudice in Water Irrigation, Appointments, and Funds allocation, there is a high possibility of the state being trifurcated.

AP CM Chandrababu Naidu is the sole reason for this kind of situation in the state. In the case of United Andhra Pradesh, Hyderabad turned out to be the centre of development. Rest of the state was completely ignored, particularly in the Telangana region. This led to the rise of ‘Telangana Movement’, which eventually bifurcated the state. The same thing is repeating even now. The entire development is condensed in Amaravati, which could eventually lead to the trifurcation of the state’.

Pawan Kalyan did not spare PM Modi too in this context. He took a sarcastic jibe at the PM, stating ‘the PM dumped the Nuclear Plant which is of no use to Gujarat in Srikakulam’.

He further alleged that in the name of ‘Janamabhoomi Committees’, the TDP is completely ruining the Sarpanch (Gram Panchayat) System in the villages.

Even TDP MP JC opined that many people in the villages are against the ‘Janamabhoomi Committees’ in villages.

Pawan Kalyan calls for ‘political accountability’!

Pawan Kalyan who is on the 8th day of his Srikakulam Tour has once again lashed out at the AP State Government, and CM Nara Chandrababu Naidu. In a special press meet that saw intellectuals from various sections of the society, Pawan Kalyan demanded that there should be ‘political accountability’. He went on to make stark comments on both TDP and Congress party.

‘Neither Chandrababu nor the Congress party leaders have faced humiliation. The people who are migrating are facing humiliation. In the past, many people who met me, shared their pain and agony, after they choose to migrate from their homeland, in search of livelihood.

It is because of CBN’s policies, we are facing this kind of problems. There is absolutely no ‘political accountability’ in the state. We need to go with a well-structured plan for the development of Uttharandhra, and Rayalaseema regions. Chandrababu Naidu, who developed Hyderabad, at the cost of the entire state, is doing the same mistake by developing only Amaravati’, said Pawan Kalyan.

It looks like the war of words between Pawan Kalyan and Chandrababu are likely to continue till the polls.

Pawan targets the Backward Uttarandhra region

2

Jana Sena chief Pawan Kalyan is making his moves very strategically. Having decided to contest the 2019 elections, he had set his eyes on the safe zone, the Uttarandhra, which is dominated by less educated and more emotionally attached people. He is looking at these 35 Assembly constituencies that form part of the Uttarandhra, spread over Srikakulam, Vizianagaram and Visakhapatnam districts.

He had started his protest yatra in this part and is currently busy taking up the issues of this area. The mysterious kidney disease of Uddanam area is the most sensitive issue that he took up. He spoke for this issue earlier when he was an ally of the ruling Telugu Desam Party. Now, being a rival, he held a two-day protest for the cause and is now happy with the government responding with a package of Rs 17 crore to open 7 dialysis centers. This might take a few months for the government to establish the dialysis centers, but he had gained an upper hand on the issue and people are loving him more for the victory. He is set to be in the region for one more month.

The target is to win majority Assembly seats here instead of wasting his time touring the entire State and using his strength and resources where he could not win. The region being backward, he seems to have set his eyes on 10 Assembly seats in Srikakulam, 9 in Vizianagaram and 15 in Visakhapatnam. Except the four Assembly seats in Visakhapatnam city and the Gajuwaka and Bobbili, where people are educated and not so emotionally attached, the rest of the seats are dominated by less educated and more emotional people. It is for this reason, he is spending more of his time and energies here.

Pawan Kalyan wants to win at least 25 Assembly seats out of 35 in the Uttarandhra which would make him a king maker after the election. His focus is more on the Srikakulam, Araku and Vizianagaram Lok Sabha constituencies, where he can win majority Assembly seats and have some from Visakhapatnam and Anakapalli Lok Sabha constituencies. He is also anticipating some Assembly seats from the two Godavari districts that would put him in comfortable position in the State politics after the elections.

CBN’s tweet reply to PK’s ‘Hunger Strike’

1

AP CM Chandrababu Naidu’s latest tweet has become the subject of discussion among the political circles. Janasena Chief Pawan Kalyan demanded that the AP State Government should react on the Uddanam Kidney Victims, and should appoint AP Health Minister. Though AP IT Minister Nara Lokesh responded that the government is taking enough measures for Uddanam Kidney Victims, there was no official response from the secretariat or the CM’s office.

Sticking to his word, Pawan Kalyan has begun his hunger strike in protest against the state government, and in support of the Uddanam Kidney Victims. And now CBN’s latest tweet briefing that all the necessary steps for the welfare of Uddanam Kidney Victims are done has been the hot topic.

In the past, the TDP leaders branded Janasena as a ‘Twitter Party’. And now, the AP CM himself is using Twitter to brief about the measures taken by the government. No wonder, things change pretty quick.

Pawan Kalyan beings his hunger strike in Srikakulam

2

Pawan Kalyan who is currently in Srikakulam has set an ultimatum for the AP State Government to resolve his demands with respect to kidney victims in the district. He demanded that the government should appoint the Health Minister within 48 hours, and if it fails to do so, he would do ‘one-day’ hunger strike in Srikakulam itself.

Though AP Minister Nara Lokesh tried to explain that the government is taking necessary measures, the government itself did not respond. As stated, he began his ‘one-day’ hunger strike after the government failed to appoint the Health Minister for the Andhra Pradesh Government.
The Janasena Chief’s hunger strike attracted huge crowds from the nearby districts as well. The party’s official twitter handle posted a list of 20 demands for the Uddanam Kidney Victims.

With the recent development, the tug-of-war between TDP and Janasena has become more critical, with many feeling that Janasena might have a considerable edge in Uttharandhra region in particular.

Pawan gets another legal notice

Pawan Kalyan who is currently doing in “Praja Porata Yatra” gets another legal notice for his comments in a political speech during this tour. It is known news that earlier he got legal notices during his war with media.

MLA Gauthu Shivaji, son of Sardar Gauthu Lachchanna, told in a press meet that he sent legal notices to Pawan for his scathing political comments on them. Shivaji was elected as the MLA for six times. Earlier Pawan Kalyan made allegations against the MLA and his son-in-law Venkanna Chowdari. He made a scathing comment that, people of the constituency are paying additional “Alludu tax” , obviously he was referring the bribes to be given to MLA’s son-in-law.

MLA’s family strongly reacted to this allegations. He told, his family had never been accused of corruption. He added, Pawan has to prove his allegations or else face legal consequences. He revealed, they already sent legal notices to Pawan Kalyan.

We have to wait and see how Pawan responds to these notices.

Pawan explains reason for his dress colour

1

Pawan Kalyan who is currently doing tour in North Andhra has been getting good response from people. He is currently doing tour in Srikakulam district and speaking on local issues as well as issues of fishermen community. He is wearing green dress while doing march in the constituencies.

There has been discussion in social media as well as some media that Pawan Kalyan is believing astrology and that is the reason for changing the dress to green colour from his usual white colour. Some of them even went on to comment, Pawan’s decisions are influenced by astrologists. Probably this has reached Janasena teams. So clarification on this came from none other than Pawan Kalyan himself.

He remarked, Srikakulam has sent many of its men into Indian Army. in fact it is the only district that has a temple for “Bharat Matha”. So, as an ode to Those soldiers wearing green color military shirt. With this he cleared air and put a full stop to those negative comments.

Pawan Kalyan – Will do hunger-strike if Govt. doesn’t respond within 48 Hours!

5

Janasena Chief Pawan Kalyan has issued an ultimatum to the Andhra Pradesh State Government. The Janasena leader is currently touring Srikakulam district in Andhra Pradesh. Addressing the problems of the kidney patients in the district, he breathed fire on Chandrababu Naidu and the state government.

‘It is shameful that we don’t even have a Health Minister. The government should immediately take measures and make sure that safe drinking water is supplied to the 7 villages that are badly affected by the kidney disease in Srikakulam. If the Government does not appoint the Health Minister within the next 48 hours, I will protest by doing hunger-strike right from here itself.

The government will be held responsible for the repercussions. Despite not being in power, I am able to respond to the problems faced by the people. And how is it possible to resolve the problems if the people sitting in the power do not respond?’ said Pawan Kalyan.

The Janasena Chief also hinted that he would take key decisions during this tour. What started as an another ‘routine’ political tour is turning out to be a focal point in AP Politics.

Pawan Kalyan turns to ‘basic’ in Sompeta Tour!

2

Janasena Chief Pawan Kalyan has turned to the introduction of basic amenities like food, education, and medical healthcare, especially to women. He highlighted the fact that, many parents are feeling it as a financial burden to educate their girl child after 16.

‘Many shared that educating their girl child, and taking care of them has become very difficult after they turn 16. Be it the lack of security for women, or the social environment, is forcing them to get their kids married at an early age’ said the Janasena Chief.

He also spoke about the lack of proper storage facilities for the fisherman community in the village. Pawan Kalyan stressed the importance of educating the people, and the society about the ways they are being exploited.

‘For decades together the political leaders have snubbed the society for their own mean means. I am here to educate today’s youth and the society for the development of the state. Janasena will work on the basic amenities, and will surely look into the ways of resolving the local problems step by step once it comes into power’, concluded Pawan Kalyan.

Despite the media announcing a war against the Janasena Chief, they were forced to cover his political Yatra, given the free fall in their TRPs. It looks like the Janasena Chief had a slight edge in recent times in the war against the media.

Vatti Vasanth meets Pawan Kalyan : What’s cooking?

2

Congress leader and former minister, Vatti Vasanth Kumar met Pawan yesterday at Ambedkar Bhavan in Visakhapatnam and that caused curiosity among political circles.

Pawan Kalyan is currently in Vizag and planning for North Andhra tour from 20th May. Vatti Vasanth is senior politician. He was the one who advised Chiranjeevi not to come into politics in 2009 because both YSR and CBN are very strong at the moment (remember his famous advice to Chiranjeevi? rendu enumula Madhya vastunnav, naligipothav. Obviously he was referring strength of YSR and CBN by saying rendu enumulu or two buffallos). Even though Chiranjeevi invited him into PRP he did not join and continued in Congress and also one as MLA from Unguturu constituency defeating Kotagiri vidyadhara Rao from PRP. He was also minister in Kiran Kumar Reddy cabinet. He represented Unguturu constituency twice.

Vatti Vasanth’s meeting with Pawan assumed significance as he has very good name in West Godavari district. Actually YSR CP party as well as Sakshi TV announced several times in the past that he is all set to join YSRCP party. Even YSR CP circles were expecting him to join their party or at least extend his support to Jagan padayatra in Godavari districts. However by meeting Pawan Kalyan it seems he sent a clear signal that he is not going to join YSRCP.

However, when media asked what transpired between Pawan Kalyan and him, he told that he was there just to greet Pawan Kalyan as they have relations with Mega Star Chiranjeevi family. Vasanth also from Kapu community and in fact Hero Sai Dharam Tej is very closely related to Vatti Vasanth. He is related to Sai Dharam Tej as his father and Vasanth are cousins.

Moreover, in recent times, when Sri Reddy issue with Pawan Kalyan happened and Pawan started war with media, Vatti Vasanth Kumar gave an open statement that he will be supporting mega family in this issue. Now, even though he is saying he met Pawan just to greet him, rumors are rife that he might consider leaving the Congress party which has no future in Andhra Pradesh and join Jana Sena.

We will have to wait and see how future events turn.

PK Steps up anti against CBN in Srikalahasti Tour

1

Janasena Chief Pawan Kalyan who is on a 3-day tour in Chittoor district has condemned the state government and AP CM Chandrababu Naidu. Speaking in a road show in Srikalahasti, ‘Chandrababu failed to do justice to the people of his own district. What will he do for the people of other districts?

CBN is delighted to give thousands of acres for people coming from abroad, while it has failed to do justice for the people for the people of his district. Why isn’t the state government giving compensation to the Chittoor people along the lines of Vizianagaram, Srikalahasti, and Nandhyala?’ questioned Pawan Kalyan.

It looks like the Janasena Chief has forgotten what his brother, Chiranjeevi has done to Mogaltur. At that time, Pawan Kalyan was heading Yuvarajyam, the youth branch of Prajarajyam Party founded by Chiranjeevi on August 26, 2008, and later merging it into Indian National Congress in August 2011.

Can these news channels really ban Pawan’s events or tours?

7

There is ongoing war between Pawan Kalyan and a few media channels. As everyone knows it all started with Pawan Kalyan accusing a few channels colluding with ruling TDP party after Sri Reddy using cuss word against his mother. After this war, people became curious to see how these channels behave when it comes to Pawan Kalyan’s news.

As everybody expected, these channels stopped scrolling Pawan Kalyan’s tweets and political news and Janasainiks feel they are not getting to know the complete news of Pawan Kalyan because of this. It is understandable from the perspective of these channels banning the news of Pawan Kalyan as he went too personal on some of them. But it is surprising to see the same channels covering the events for which Pawan Kalyan is the chief guest and telecasting the event and speeches of Pawan. Even though, this will be an affair between the producer of the movie and the TV channels and this will not have any interference of Pawan, TV channels have every right and every opportunity to say “No” to cover these events if they are too particular on banning Pawan’s news. But it seems channels do not want to take that chance as they know there will be huge TRPs for such film based events and moreover when huge star like Pawan is attending such events. So, we can infer, these channels don’t dare to lose the TRPs by not covering such events because if they don’t cover obviously other channels will cover.

If we apply the same logic to upcoming Pawan Kalyan’s political tour, there is high probability that these channels will definitely cover the news of it. But only thing they may do is to cut short the coverage for his tour and present it in neutral manner – unlike the earlier events where these channels extensively and positively covered each and every move of Pawan Kalyan. Pawan Kalyan’s state tour will be started from next week. It seems, Pawan Kalyan wants to cover the villages of the state and he will be starting the tour from Srikakulam district.

People are curious to see how these channels will cover this tour – whether they will completely avoid or whether they will cut short the coverage or whether they will cover the tour but later take a dig at his speeches and his mistakes during the debates in their channels. As of now, it looks, channels have mellowed down on the aggressive debates and going neutral on most of the news they are presenting. So we can expect the same trend during Pawan’s upcoming tour as well.

Pawan Kalyan to start his State tour soon

2

Jana Sena chief Pawan Kalyan is understood to have made up his mind to go to the people. He has been limiting himself mostly to the twitter for his politics expect for his tour in Uddanam area of Srikakulam and some of the capital villages in Guntur several months ago.

Fearing security problem, as he moves around with the help of his filmy-style bouncers, the Jana Sena chief initially wanted to take up his AP tour from Guntur district last month. However, he deferred it sensing some law and order problem. He saw a conspiracy by the ruling Telugu Desam Party to disturb his tour by creating violence. He had tweeted that too blaming the TDP, which was rejected by the TDP leaders.

Now after a gap of three weeks, he had once again made it clear that he would undertake the State tour. His team is getting a new vehicle ready for him for the tour and also the route map for the same. However, he had not yet decided on where to start and where to end his tour. The party sources said that he would soon clear his route map, appoint the party committees at the district level and start the tour.

This would be his first tour out of his office after he had announced that his party would contest all the 175 Assembly constituencies in the next elections, skipping the CPI and the CPM, which have been with him for the past six months.

Pawan Kalyan’s new channel coming soon??

3

It is known news that Pawan Kalyan fired salvos at some media heads after Sri Reddy abused Pawan’s mother and then these media channels stopped covering any news of Pawan Kalyan. Pawan’s fans and Janasainiks are worried that Pawan may face tough time to take his party and his policies without media support. However, grapevine is that Pawan’s new channel is coming soon.

If the reports are to be believed, Pawan and his team are in negotiations with 99 TV. As per the reports this channel is currently running in losses and Pawan’s team wanted to take over the channel. It seems the discussions have been happening since last 2 weeks. Incidentally, this channel owner has some links with the leadership of communist party. If the channel is taken over, Pawan’s team may change the name of the channel and rechristen it completely.

We have to wait and see if this rumor really turns out to be true but if that happens, probably it will be really good news for Janasena fans.
