Waltair Veerayya Review : Poonakalu paused !

Waltair veerayya Review

Waltair veerayya Review

Telugu360 Rating : 2.25/5

Set in Vizag port, Veerayya (Chiru) and Kaala (Prakashraj) are friends and business partners. Kaala turns out to be evil, cheats on Veerayya, and runs away to Malaysia. The rest of the story revolves around Veerayya’s journey to Malaysia to teach Kaala a lesson.

Veerayya’s character makes an entry with a shabby graphics episode where he rescues kidnapped Indian Naval Officers. Now, why does the Indian Army need help from a fisherman – chart this away as cinematic liberty. Moving on Veerayya is in Malaysia on assignment to capture the criminal Solomon (Bobby Simha) – who is also Kaala’s brother. While is scope for comedy here, it does appear to be very forced and does nothing to help. Chiranjeevi tried hard – a few scenes hit, and the rest disappear into oblivion. The interval block is impressive. The first half has a few elements that old-school Chiranjeevi fans might like.

The second half opens with a back story. The brothers (Chinarjeevi as fisherman and Raviteja as ACP) childhood memories, and clashes resulting in the present-day rivalry are revealed. Kaala’s betrayal of framing Veerayya as the culprit is pretty emotional.

This is a script with 0 high moments. It completely banks on senior hero Chiranjeevi’s old-school antics. It’s become a trend to do imitations of viral media in mainstream cinema, but designing a cheap skit like ‘Jambalakidi Jaaru Mithai’ on a big hero like Chiranjeevi is a very poor decision. The climax is clueless with endless mafia gang gun fights.

The Boss Party song has only one decent step that was already shown in trailers. Poonakalu Loading song is mass appealing.

Megastar Chiranjeevi tried his best to pull off this mediocre script. While he is good at his elements, it is high time to quit his 40’s age body language. Raviteja got a good role, and his performance is good. Shruti Haasan and Catherine got themselves into filler roles. Bobby Simha and Prakash Raj as villains are okay.

Technical :

Devisri Prasad did a reasonably good job with his songs but the background score isn’t impressive. The budget is not visible on the screen except for the Boss Party song. VFX work is not to the mark.

Positives :

· Megastar
· Two Songs

Negatives :

· Very bland storytelling
· Mediocre action sequences
· No high moments

Waltair Veerayya trying to fulfill his sibling’s dreams is the film’s story. The movie fails to take off from the beginning. It has a very bland first half and keeps going downhill from there. Strictly for old-school Chiranjeevi fans.

Veera Simha Reddy Review – Typical faction film for masses

Veera Simha Reddy Review

TELUGU360 RATING: 2.5 / 5

Veera Simha Reddy is an upcoming Indian action film directed by Gopichand Malineni and produced by Mythri Movie Makers. It stars Nandamuri Balakrishna in the lead role alongside Shruti Haasan, Varalaxmi Sarathkumar, Honey Rose, and Duniya Vijay. The film score and soundtrack are composed by S. Thaman.

Veera Simha Reddy (Balakrishna) is a leader from pulicherla in Rayalaseema. His son Jai Simha Reddy (Balakrishna) lives in Istanbul city. Veera Simha’s sister Bhanumathi (Varalakshmi) leads Veera’s rival faction group in pulicherla. The rest of the story deals with why Veera’s sister went against him, How Jai / Veera Simha reddy counter the rival faction gangs.

Gopichand Malineni’s script is a bit shaky at the beginning. Younger Balakrishna, and Shruti Haasan introduction episodes are pretty average. Once Veera Simha reddy enters, the movie switches to high-octane action mode. The director cleverly embedded fierce political dialogues against the incumbent government. Balayya’s Veera Simha getup suits him perfectly. His body language, dialogue delivery, and the scale of the scenes, etc. factors helped a racy first half. Once the first half reaches such a high, obviously the second half starts sliding down. Adding to the problems, for the second half, the director had picked a clichéd story and treatment is sluggish as well. The sister sentiment didn’t work much in favor of the film, even though Varalakshmi acted well as Bhanumati.

Balakrishna is good in both roles but best as Veera Simha. On top of his regular mass histrionics, there are multiple scenes he did emotional scenes as well. Shruti Haasan, and Honey Rose characters have less screen space. Varalakshmi Sarat kumar gets the author-backed role, she acted well. Duniya Vijay as the main villain looks wise and fiery but the villainy is weak. Murali sharma role is insignificant and incomplete.

Technical Department:

S Thaman’s mass songs and background score helped the film a Lot. Without him, this film would have a lesser impact. Sai Madhav Burra dialogues stand out in the film. He has written nice mass dialogues and penned some powerful political dialogues. Rishi Punjabi cinematography is excellent with rich and vibrant frames in songs. He captures action episodes well.

Balayya’s stellar screen presence and performance
First half Episodes
Fierce political dialogues
Superb Mass songs

Old School flashback in the second half
Emotional drama fails to connect
Poor story
Routine Fights

Veera Simha Reddy’s first half is very good and a feast for the audience. However, the second half disappoints. The Old school’s Second half works only for fans / B-C centers. At Box-office, targeted mass, festive season, and competition movie results will decide the range of this film.

Veera Simha Reddy Trailer: Mass Hysteria

Veera Simha Reddy in the crazy combination of Nandamuri Balakrishna, Gopichand Malineni and Mythri Movie Makers will have its grand release on January 12th.

Today, during the pre-release function, the film’s theatrical trailer has been dropped to provide a mass feast, before the full meal treat in theatres.

The trailer begins with Veera Simha Reddy revealing the reason why he only should hold the sword in Seema, and why not others.

The trailer is loaded with powerful dialogues, mass moments, high-octane action blocks, glamor dose, and emotions.

The video also shows the other prominent cast- Shruti Haasan, Duniya Vijay, Varalaxmi Sarathkumar, Naveen Chandra etc. without disclosing the storyline, yet it creates a great impression.

It seems the fight with masked men is going to give goosebumps in theatres, like Vetapalem fight sequence in Krack.

Balakrishna appeared in two different shades and he created mass hysteria with his power-packed screen presence, body language, walking style, and dialogue delivery.

Gopichand Malineni showed all his fanism on Balakrishna by giving god-level elevations to the character and his taking is the next level.

Visuals look majestic, thanks to cinematographer Rishi Punjab, wherein S Thaman doubled the impact with a rousing background score.

Mythri Movie Makers spent a huge budget and we can witness the magnificence in every single frame.

Shruti Haasan appeared glamorous, wherein Varalaxmi Sarathkumar seems to have got a meaty role that has negative shades. Duniya Vijay frightens with his brutish look.

All in all, Veera Simha Reddy seems to be Gopichand Malineni mark mass action entertainer loaded with drama and emotions.

The trailer has heightened the prospects on the movie. But we need to wait for another six days to witness the mass jathara in cinemas.

The actress, known for her love of Goth, recently started the #McKenziesmakeupchallenge, in association with American singer and actress McKenzie Westmore. The topic of the challenge is Beautiful Gothic Make up. Shruti is judging the challenge, where she invites entries from all over the country to showcase their creative gothic looks.
