Did Uttam secure TRS MLC seat for Kaushik Reddy in ‘secret deal’ with KCR?

1

It’s been nearly two weeks since Huzurabad Assembly bypoll result was out but the Congress in Telangana continues to experience the tremors of its worst defeat in the election.

Congress was polled just 3,000 votes in the bypoll against over 60,000 votes it secured in December 2018 Assembly polls.

When Kaushik Reddy from Congress contested against TRS candidate Etela Rajender in December 2018 Assembly polls, he secured over 60,000 votes.

Kaushik Reddy left Congress and joined TRS before bypoll.

With this, Congress fielded its student leader Balmuru Venkat of NSUI in the bypoll. But he got a meagre 3,000 votes.

Telangana Congress leaders lodged complaints against each other with the Congress high command with each one blaming the other leader for worst defeat.

The Congress high command on Saturday (today) summoned a few senior Telangana leaders to Delhi to review on Huzuraba debacle.

In the review meeting, Ponnam Prabhakar made shocking comments on Nalgonda MP and former TPCC chief N.Uttam Kumar Reddy.

Ponnam said it’s Uttam who shifted Kaushik Reddy from Congress to TRS in a ‘secret deal’ with KCR and ensured that Kaushik Reddy gets MLC seat in return. Ponnam said KCR nominated Kaushik Reddy, who is Uttam’s cousin, as MLC under governor’s quota as part of this secret deal.

CLP leader Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka said Congress would have won had Etela Rajender joined Congress but some leaders in Telangana Congress obstructed Rajender’s entry.

To this, AICC general secretary KC Venugopal expressed severe anger saying it’s Bhatti alone who opposed Rajender’s entry into Congress and the same Bhatti is now blaming others.

T’gana Cong chief demands Covid treatment under Arogyasri

1

Congress party’s Telangana unit president N. Uttam Kumar Reddy on Thursday demanded that the state government include treatment of Covid-19 under Arogyasri, the health insurance scheme for the poor.

Reddy, who has been infected by Covid-19, posted a video message on Twitter from the hospital where he is undergoing treatment.

He said the government should not forget its responsibility to take care of the people who are suffering due to the pandemic and lack of beds, oxygen and medicines.

“I am deeply pained that lakhs of my brothers and sisters suffering from Covid-19 have been abandoned and rendered helpless due to the apathy of the government,” said Reddy.

The Congress leader said he was receiving phone calls from many people who are unable to get beds in hospital and are facing shortage of oxygen and Remdisivir.

He stated that a control room set up by the party’s state unit under the directions of AICC incharge Manickam Tagore is actively coming to the aid of Covid-19 patients in Telangana. “We shall do our best to assist our citizens & overcome this second wave,” he tweeted.

“I thank doctors, nurses, frontline health & sanitation workers who have been working in grueling conditions to save lives of Covid-19 patients. Special mention to the Congress party volunteers who are tirelessly helping patients & their families. We shall win this together.”

The MP thanked party workers and well wisher who sent their good wishes to him. He hoped that he would be out of the hospital in 2 or 3 days.

Reddy had tweeted on April 24 that pneumonia caused by Covid was detected when he got a CT lung scan done. He advised people who have been in contact with him to get tested. “Both rapid & RT PCR tests failed to detect Covid in my case. Urge you to go for lung CT scan if symptoms persist despite negative RTPCR/Rapid antigen tests.”

TPCC chief Uttam tested Covid positive, admitted in hospital!

1

Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC) chief and Nalgonda Lok Sabha member N Uttam Kumar Reddy was tested positive for Covid-19 on Saturday (today).

He was admitted into AIG Hospital in Gachibowli for treatment.

Though Uttam preferred to remain in home isolation, doctors advised him to admit in hospital as his Covid symptoms were not mild.

Uttam has been campaigning for Congress in upcoming municipal polls in Nakrekal. Uttam also campaigned heavily in the recent Nagarjunasagar bypoll.

Majority of the leaders who campaigned in Nagarjunasagar Assembly bypoll were tested positive including Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao, TRS candidate Nomula Bhagat, TRS leaders Koti Reddy etc.

For this reason, Uttam has been demanding postponement of municipal polls on April 30 as election rallies and meetings were leading to spread of coronavirus.

Uttam also lodged a complaint with Governor seeking postponement of elections on Friday (yesterday).

Exactly a day after this, Uttam testing positive came as a shock to Congress leaders and cadre.

Ruling party intimidating voters of graduate MLC polls: Telangana Cong chief

0

With campaigning on at full swing for the two graduate MLC constituencies that go to polls, the opposition Congress party has accused the ruling TRS of intimdating voters.

Speaking to mediapersons here on Monday, Telangana Congress president N. Uttam Kumar Reddy alleged that TRS leaders are forcing voters to swear that they will vote only for the ruling party candidates.

Stating that such tactics are illegal, Reddy said that they would submit video evidence to the election commission, and demand stern action. “Failure to act would raise suspicions,” he said.

Reddy claimed that a Congress victory in the two constituencies would force the TRS government in the state, and BJP-led government at the centre, to solve problems faced by Telangana’s graduates.

Recalling the horrific daylight murder of a lawyer couple recently in the state, the Congress leader demanded to know why Brahmins should vote for the ruling party.

Telangana doing fewer Covid-19 tests, says Congress

0

Opposition Congress party in Telangana on Monday slammed the Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) government for doing fewer Covid-19 tests and sought Governor Tamilisai Soundararajan’s intervention in the matter.

State Congress chief Uttam Kumar Reddy called on the Governor at the Raj Bhavan and complained to her about the state government’s shortcomings in tackling Covid-19 situation.

Reddy wanted to know why the government is not conducting an adequate number of tests. He alleged that Chief Minister K. Chandrashekhar Rao is taking unilateral decisions without consulting the opposition.

He told reporters that conducting more tests would help in checking the spread of Covid-19. He wanted to know why the government is not allowing Covid-19 tests in the hospitals which received the nod from Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) for the same.

Reddy, who is also a Member of Parliament, claimed that states smaller than Telangana were conducting more tests.

The Congress leader also wondered why the government is not releasing the details of those who died of Covid-19 in the state. In his representation to the Governor, he demanded that the government should pay Rs 10 lakh as ex-gratia each to the families of the dead.

He alleged that the government is threatening the media questioning it and totally ignoring the suggestions and advises of the opposition.

Reddy also complained that despite 40 days of the lockdown, the poor have not received Rs 1,500 financial aid announced by the state government.

He also targeted the government for not having correct statistics with regard to the migrant labourers in the state.

Alleging the shortcomings in procurement of paddy, he said farmers were suffering due to the faulty policies of the government.

Earlier, Reddy distributed five lakh eggs and 40,000 sanitisers in Miryalaguda along with senior party colleague K. Jana Reddy. Each family will get 12 eggs and 1 sanitizer irrespective of caste, religion or party.

Telangana has so far recorded 1,082 Covid-19 cases, of which 545 have recovered and 29 have died.

According to officials, the number of active cases in the state is now at 508.

Uttam ridicules BJP’s propagation of cow urine to treat Coronavirus!

0

Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC) President & Nalgonda MP N. Uttam Kumar Reddy has exposed the flaws in the approach adopted by Union Ministry for AYUSH.

Raising the issue during Question Hour in Lok Sabha on Friday, Uttam Kumar Reddy pointed out that the AYUSH Ministry has issued an advisory wherein it prescribed some medicines for treatment of Coronavirus. “When the World Health Organisation (WHO) and Prime Minister Narender Modi last night said there is no preventive medicine, there is no vaccine or medicine, how come the Ministry of AYUSH has issued an advisory to the States that XYZ medcine will prevent Coronavirus. This is in contradiction to the advise given by the Union Ministry for Health,” he said.

Uttam Kumar Reddy said based on the advisory note given by AYUSH Ministry, the Government of Telangana has set up stalls distributing those medicines, including at the airport. “Approximately 10-15 crore people believe in AYUSH. In a disease like Coronavirus, where there is no scientific evidence and no clinical trials, how has the ministry of AYUSH specifically recommended some medicines. Without proper scientific evidence or clinical trials, was it proper for AYUSH to issue this advisory note?” he asked.

Speaking about ‘disinformation’ and ‘misinformation’ in the media, Uttam Kumar Reddy said a number of persons, particularly of the ruling party, have been giving statements like cow urine and cow dung is useful in treating Coronavirus. Some Yoga Gurus are also prescribing some herbs. He said this ‘misinformation’ and ‘disinformation’ has not been contradicted by anybody in the government.

Uttam Kumar Reddy also highlighted the absence of a mechanism in the country for testing Coronavirus. “As a citizen, if I want to go and test myself for Coronavirus, there is no system in the country or procedure now,” he said.

Further, he also pointed out that the Quarantine facilities where people coming from abroad were being kept were unhygienic.

Union Minister of State for AYUSH Shripad Yesso Naik, in his reply, clarified that the medicines were prescribed based on previous experiences and they could only boost respiratory system and increase immunity. “We did not call them medicines for Coronavirus,” he clarified. Further, he was there was there was nothing to fear as the Coronavirus was being controlled.

Decks cleared for Telangana municipal polls, High Court dismisses Uttam’s petition

0

It dismissed the Public Interest Litigation (PIL) filed by TPCC president N Uttam Kumar Reddy challenging the election schedule issued by the Telagnana State Election Commission (SEC) on December 23.

With this, the hopes of Opposition parties to postpone municipal elections have been dashed.

The SEC issued the election notification within hours after High Court orders.

A division bench of the HC Comprising of the Chief Justice of the state Justice RS Chauhan and Justice A. Abhishek Reddy passed the orders after hearing the arguments of the counsels for the petitioner and the state election commission.

During the course of arguments that lasted for two days , Counsel for the TPCC president, D Prakash Reddy told the HC that election schedule issued by the Election commission was also the election notification as per the Telangana state municipalities Act. He told the court that the election notification should not be released unless the process of reservations of wards of different municipalities and municipal corporations have been completed by the state government.

He also said that the election schedule of the SEC was in complete contradiction to sub sections 1,2 and 3 of section 195 of the Act. He further said that the election commission did not give enough time to aspiring candidates from reserved seats to secure their community certificates to contest the elections.

He told the court that the election commission could re-schedule the elections as the election notification was not released as per article 243K and 243G of Indian constitution and urged the court to issue directions to the state elections to re-schedule the election schedule.

Responding to this , the counsel for the SEC CV Mohan Reddy told the HC that the election schedule released on December 23,2019 by the commission was meant to urge the voters of the state to exercise their vote as per the schedule. He also made it clear that finalisation of the reservations was not the function of the commission and added that the state government was the authority to finalise the reservations of the wards. He further said that the aspiring candidates who want contest from the reserved seats didn’t have to submit their caste certificate and added that it was enough for them to give their self declaration about their community.

After hearing both the arguments, the High Court struck down the PIL and asked SEC to go ahead with the elections as scheduled.

Sarve Satyanarayana sensational comments on Uttam Kumar

0

It would be a surprise if Congress leaders do not blame one another. It is more so after the party loses an election. Now the blame game continues in Telangana Congress. Former union minister Sarve Satyanarayana was suspended for his anti-party activities and for his comments against the leadership. But once again he came up before the media and made sensational allegations against Congress Telangana President Uttam Kumar Reddy.

Satyanarayana accused Uttam Kumar of colluding with the ruling Telangana Rashtra Samiti to defeat some Congress candidates who are not friendly to him in last elections. Though the high command had sent money, the local unit leaders had sold the party tickets in assembly elections. Satyanarayana said he was defeated because of the anti-party activities run by these leaders in his assembly segment.

Continuing his attack, Satyanarayana said Uttam Kumar and some other leaders were bent upon damaging the overall party interests to improve their leadership positions while Rahul Gandhi and national leadership were making untiring efforts for the victory of the party. Satyanarayana said Uttam Kumar has no talent to run the Congress efficiently.

Will Uttam Kumar Reddy break that sentiment?

0

Uttam Kumar Reddy, PCC chief of Telangana, is currently Member of Telangana Legislative Assembly from the Huzurnagar constituency. It is known news that he was Former Minister of Housing. He is now contesting again from the same constituency. TRS announced its candidate for Huzurnagar against Uttam Kumar Reddy as Shanampudi Saidireddy. He is an NRI. However, now there is an interesting sentiment being discussed among people about Uttam Kumar Reddy.

Uttam Kumar Reddy is currently PCC chief for Telangana. Prior to him, Ponnala Lakshmaiah was PCC chief. He not only failed to steer Congress into victory in 2014, he himself failed to win as MLA. He contested from Janagama in 2014 but he lost it to Yadagiri Reddy, candidate of TRS. While TRS MLA got 48% votes, Ponnala got only 29% votes. This was a humiliating defeat for PCC chief. In 2009 also, same was the fate for PCC chief D. Srinivas. He contested from Nizamabad (urban) constituency but he lost it to BJP candidate Lakshmi Narayana.

So, in the last 2 elections, PCC chief himself was losing elections. This time also there have been rumors in Huzurnagar constituency that, it is not easy task for Uttam Kumar Reddy to win this time. We will have to wait and see if Uttam breaks the sentiment that Congress party PCC presidents lose as MLA. We will have to wait for 2 more weeks to know if Uttam breaks the sentiment or not.

Uttam’s wife may out from the ring!

0

The Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC) Chief Mr. Uttam Kumar Reddy’s wife Ms. Padmavati, who is sitting MLA from Kodada segment, may not contest in assembly polls due to many reasons.

Sources from Mahakutami told ‘Telugu 360’ that the Telangana TDP is seeking the segment under the alliance of Mahakutami as it was a stronghold to the party since 80’s. Ms. Padmavati won last election against TDP candidate Mr. Bollam Mallaiah Yadav, who is a strong leader in TDP-TS, with a difference of 13,374 votes and entered into the assembly along with her husband Mr. Uttam, who is representing from Huzurnagar segment. In order to reach the goal for Mahakutami that is to defeat TRS, Uttam’s family may scarify Kodada, the sources added.

If Uttam’s family opposes the decision of leaving the seat to TDP, there are chances of the congress high command’s condition imposed in these elections that provides a ticket per family. With this equation, Uttam’s family must scarify one seat. Meanwhile, few others including Mr. Janareddy and his son Ragu Vir Reddy, Ex MP Mr. Anjan Kumar Yadav and his son Mr. Anil Kumar Yadav, Ex-minister Ms. Sabitha Reddy and her son Mr. Patolla Karthik Reddy, Recently joined sitting MLA from Parakala Ms. Konda Surekha and her husband Mr. Konda Murali should also bind to one ticket rule.

KCR looted Telangana more than Andhra rulers, says Uttam Kumar Reddy

0

KCR has successfully created anti-Andhra sentiment once again by raking up his favoured Telangana sentiment among the people with his pungent attacks on Chandrababu, YSR and others. Congress leaders are finding it difficult to effectively counter KCR attacks simply because they have joined Grand Alliance which included TDP.

Congress Telangana President Uttam Kumar Reddy seems to have realized the need for giving a more fitting reply to criticism being made by rivals. He is now saying that KCR and family are looting the state more than Andhra rulers. He addressed students from different universities in Hyderabad at Gandhi Bhavan.

Stating that the benefits of statehood have not reached deserving families of martyrs and agitators but it was solely KCR’s family which is reaping all the fruits of those sacrifices made by students and others in the movement.

It is well known that KCR has been mounting a direct attack on Chandrababu Naidu saying that Naidu was plotting to destroy TRS by conspiring with Congress. Very strategically, TRS chief is directing more of his criticism at Naidu rather than Congress leaders. This has triggered an Andhra-centric debate getting wider attention even as Congress leaders were not able to effectively counter anti-Chandrababu rhetoric.

Former TDP leader Revanth Reddy was also not able to give a fitting reply to TRS criticism of Naidu as he is now with Congress. On his part, Chandrababu Naidu has also repeatedly said there is undue criticism against him regardless of the fact that he is not a contender for chief ministership in Telangana any more.

Now Uttam Kumar seems to address this issue in a different way. Without taking any particular name, he says that previous Andhra rulers are far better than KCR and his family. This includes Chandrababu as well.

The mention of Andhra factor seems to appeal to the youth and masses, for good or for bad. One has to wait and see how Uttam Kumar will take forward his debate on Andhra issues to make required political gains.

Telangana Congress chief vows to send KCR to jail

0

Telangana state Congress chief Uttam Kumar Reddy on Wednesday vowed to send caretaker Chief Minister K. Chandrashekhar Rao to jail if the Congress party is voted to power in the ensuing elections.

Accusing KCR of misusing police to target Congress leaders, Kumar Reddy said that same treatment would be meted out to KCR when the Congress party comes to power.

He was addressing a public meeting on Wednesday night at Sangareddy town to condemn the arrest of party leader Jagga Reddy in an alleged human trafficking case.

The state Congress chief asked Director General of Police Mahender Reddy to act as per law and stop discriminating against the Congress leaders.

Kumar Reddy said that Jagga Reddy, a former MLA from Sangareddy, was implicated in a fake case just before elections only due to his popularity. He said the Congress party would not tolerate if any of its member is harassed by the police.

Jagga Reddy was arrested on Monday after a suo motu case was filed against him at a police station in Hyderabad.

According to the police, he allegedly obtained Indian passports and US visas by submitting fake documents in the name of his family members.

He allegedly obtained passports in 2004 for himself and for his wife, daughter and son by affixing the photos of others. He also allegedly obtained US visas for them and illegally transported them by accompanying them to the US as his family members.

It’s “Prajala Avedana Sabha” : PCC chief Uttam Kumar Reddy

0

Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee chief Uttam Kumar Reddy responded on KCR Pragati nivedana Sabha. He convened press meet after KCR meeting and criticized that it is not Pragati nivedana Sabha (progress report meeting) but it is Prajala Avedana Sabha (people anguish meaning.)

Uttam Kumar Reddy questioned government of Telangana on making people suffer by diverting all RTC as well as private buses to the meeting. He also questioned officials and GHMC for allowing flexis and hoardings of TRS leaders while they removed all such hoardings during Rahul Gandhi meeting. He also questioned hypocrisy of KTR, who always advises on avoiding plastic and flexis, on allowing all these hoardings now. He wondered why these income tax and ED officials are turning blind eye now when TRS spent almost 300 crores for this meeting.

He questioned KCR why there is no mention of double bedroom houses that was promised during 2014 election manifesto in his speech. He also asked why KCR did not talk about his promises of Muslim reservations, ST reservation, 2 acre land for SCs.

Overall, Uttam Kumar Reddy called it as “Prajala Avedana Sabha”

Rahul Gandhi will take part in the Bus Yatra – TPCC Chief

0

TPCC Chief Uttam Kumar Reddy who went on an important trip to New Delhi has brought some exciting news to the Telangana Congress cadre. Speaking in a press meet, the TPCC Chief confirmed that, INC National President Rahul Gandhi will take part in the Congress Party’s ‘Praja Chaitanya Yatra’ in Telangana.
In a special press meet, Uttam Kumar Reddy went on to share some key information. ‘I met Rahul Gandhi in New Delhi and discussed on the latest political developments in Telangana, and the current atmosphere. He will also take part in the Praja Chaitanya Yatra.

We briefed Rahul Gandhi about the recent judgment that came in favour of the expelled MLAs; Komatireddy Venkat Reddy and Sampath Kumar. In its judgment, the High Court said the expulsion is invalid. In fact, Rahul Gandhi appreciated the MLAs for their fighting spirit’.

This did not leave Uttam Kumar Reddy from not condemning KCR. He demanded that CM KCR and Telangana Assembly Speaker Madhusudhana Chary should resign for their posts.

Political analysts believe that Rahul Gandhi’s presence for the ‘Praja Chaitanya Yatra’ could propel the Congress party to a decent extent in Telangana.

KCR’s is not Third Front… It is a Tent – TPCC Chief

2

The war of words between TRS and T-Congress leaders escalated into a brawl after the assembly incident. Legislative Council Chairman was hurt in that incident that took place in the Telangana Assembly on March 12th, the day on which TS Assembly Budget Sessions commenced. Since then, the war of words between both the parties have reached the ultimate stage.

Adding more fire to the ongoing verbal spat between the parties, TPCC Chief Uttam Kumar Reddy heckled KCR’s Federal Front aka Third Front initiative. ‘KCR’s is not Third Front… It is a Tent’, said Uttam Kumar Reddy. He also stated that Congress will start the 3rd leg of the Bus Yatra.

‘Congress party severely condemns the suspension of Komatireddy and Sampath from the Assembly. We will explain to the people of Telangana on this. Both the suspended MLAs have the support of Rahul Gandhi too.

It is the Congress party that will come into power in both the state and the Centre. TRS will not get more than 2 MP seats this time around’, said Uttam Kumar Reddy.

While the Congress claims its ‘success’ as a mere formality in Telangana, the stealthy survey reports are suggesting the exact opposite.

KCR – Mamata Banerjee Meeting is a mere stunt – Uttam Kumar Reddy

3

TSCC President, Congress Leader Uttam Kumar Reddy made left-hand comments on KCR – Mamata Banerjee meets, that took place today evening in Kolkata. Speaking at a press meet, hosted in Gandhi Bhavan, Uttam Kumar Reddy said that, ‘the meeting between KCR and West Bengal CM Mamata Banerjee is a mere political move to divert the people’s attention’.

The Congress leader condemned KCR’s West Bengal visit, venting out his anger on how the assembly sessions are being run. ‘The assembly sessions are being run for namesake. At this juncture, KCR’s visit to West Bengal shows his commitment towards Telangana and its people. TRS will not even win a single seat in the upcoming elections.

Commissions have become a part of TRS Government. The same thing has been shared by Sirisilla Municipal Chairman very recently. The TRS leaders are following the footsteps of KCR, and are demanding commission in every project.

Owing to the corruption in Sirisilla municipality, Telangana IT Minister should immediately resign from his MP post’.

The TRS leaders are yet to react on Uttam Kumar Reddy’s latest comments.

Telangana Congress chief accepts minister’s challenge

0

Accepting the challenge of Telanagana IT Minister K.T. Rama Rao, state Congress chief N. Uttam Kumar Reddy on Thursday announced that he and his wife and sitting legislator Padmavathi Reddy would retire from politics if the Congress did not come to power in next elections.

However, he said Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao must also announce that he, along with his son Rama Rao (Minister), daughter K. Kavitha (MP) and nephew T. Harish Rao (Minister) will retire from politics if Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) loses the elections.

Reddy told reporters that he is unconditionally accepting the challenge posed by Rama Rao. However, he said that the Chief Minister himself should make the announcement of retirement from politics of his entire family if Congress comes to power in Telangana.

He said Rama Rao’s challenge only reflected his arrogance and the power of arrogance has turned TRS leaders blind to the extent that they were not willing to see the sufferings of common people.

No section of the society benefitted from the TRS regime during the last four years, and except for four members of just one family, no one gained from the formation of Telangana State, said Reddy.

He was confident the Congress would win more than 70 seats in next elections, irrespective of whether they are held in December or next year.

Uttam says, more joining from TRS after Sankranti

0

President of Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC) Mr. Uttam Kumar Reddy said there would be more joining in Congress Party from TRS after Sankranti festival.

While chitchatting with media at Gandhi Bhavan, Uttam said many prominent leaders from TRS have already queued up and they are just waiting for ‘Good Days’ for shifting party.

Appreciating ZPTC Member of Hanvada who joined in Congress from TRS, he said, “KCR cheated entire Telangana. Public is keenly observing it. Congress will come into power in 2019. Both the assembly and parliament segments of Mahbubnagar have become our strongholds. We develop the drought affected Mahbubnagar,” he said.

The PCC chief further said that KCR did nothing except implementing the developmental views of the previous Government (Congress). “Congress began groundwork for 24 hour power supply initiation. Now, TRS is claiming it by completing the projects. KCR is spreading false information. During the regime of Congress in 2011, the power generation was not meeting actual requirements and we began the works of major three power projects,” he said.
