Telugus should lead India to number one position in world by 2047, say Naidu

1

Observing that corruption is still rampant in Andhra Pradesh which needs to be tackled immediately not only for the progress of the State but also the whole country, TDP supremo and former chief minister, N Chandrababu Naidu, on Monday called for the active involvement of the youth for taking Andhra Pradesh much ahead.

Releasing the Vision-2047 document at a programme organised in this Port City, Naidu expressed confidence that India will certainly become number one country in the world in all spheres but wanted the Telugus to be in the leading position in this endeavour. Intellectuals and the youth besides a large number of people from cross section gathered for the programme.

Expressing confidence that India, including Andhra Pradesh, will certainly grow to the expected levels, the TDP supremo felt the need to put an end to corruption which is possible only by revolutionising the youth. “This century is yours and you should take the lead not only to take the State much forward but also the country to the top most position in the globe,” the former chief minister said.

Naidu firmly believed that Telugus are capable of leading the nation and gave the example of the former prime minister, late PV Narasimha Rao. “The economic reforms introduced in the country when Narasimha Rao was the prime minister brought a revolutionary change in the whole nation which transformed India to grow economically and other fields. That is the greatness of Telugu people,” Naidu explained.

“At the same time, those who become rich utilising these opportunities should support the poor to grow,” the TDP supremo said. He is confident that Telugus who have the culture of respecting the aged and old will certainly follow this norm. Naidu wished that the people from both the Telugu States should become other Jews, who are now the richest in the world. “In every 10 rich persons in the world five are Jews. Already those who have migrated to the United States are earning a lot and others too should grow like that utilising these five strategies that I am explaining now in this Vision-2047 document,” he stated.

Jagan lists his rivals for 2024 elections

1

AP chief minister Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy had listed his rivals for the impending 2024 general elections. He made the list clear in his address in the Assembly on Thursday.

Two years ahead of the elections, Jagan Mohan Reddy seems to have started his political campaign now.

He had given enough indications to his Cabinet colleagues at the recent cabinet meeting, where he told the Ministers to be in touch with the people.

He is also scheduled to meet his MLAs and MPs once the current budget session of the Assembly is over.

He also made some political remarks at the International Women’s Day celebrations where he listed his government’s achievements and targeted the opposition TDP without mincing words.

He is now said to be planning to launch the much awaited Rachabanda programme, where he would interact with the people in the districts.

Sources say that Jagan Mohan Reddy would start his districts’ tour from June this year and that would culminate with the 2024 elections.

But, before that, he made the list of his rivals for the elections. His rival number one is TDP chief Chandrababu Naidu.

The other rivals are not from any political party, but from the media. He named Eenadu’s Ramoji Rao, Andhra Jyothi’s Radha Krishna and TV5’s Naidu.

Jagan Mohan Reddy had named all these four as his rivals during his speech in the Assembly and his future public speeches would have all these names too.

YSRCP MLA asks Jagan not to ‘cheat’ people

1

YSRCP MLA from Tadipatri constituency Kethireddy Pedda Reddy created a flutter by making controversial remarks against his own party boss and Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister YS Jaganmohan Reddy.

Pedda Reddy asked Jagan not to ‘lie’ and cheat people for his political survival.

He said it’s not good for a leader of the stature of Jagan to make false promises to people or tell lies to people and cheat them for the sake of power.

Pedda Reddy said Jagan has reached a stage where he is unable to make out what to talk about and what not to talk about for his selfish political interests.

The MLA made these comments while participating in the cheque distribution programme for women beneficiaries of YSR Aasara scheme on Monday (today).

Pedda Reddy who began his speech attacking opposition parties suddenly changed his track and started criticising his own party chief and CM Jagan.

YSRCP local leaders and cadre besides women beneficiaries present in the meeting were shocked at their MLA attacking his own party and CM Jagan.

Later, local leaders and cadre tried to downplay the issue saying that MLA’s comments were not intentional but a ‘slip of tongue’.

But it failed to douse the fire in YSRCP.

Krishna farmers file petition against TS Govt in TS High Court!

0

The farmers belonging to Krishna district in Andhra Pradesh on Monday filed a petition against Telangana state government in Telangana High Court.

The farmers filed a petition challenging GO No.34 issued by Telangana government last week asking TS Genco to produce hydel power at all irrigation projects on Krishna river up to 100 per cent of installed capacity.

The farmers termed the GO as ‘illegal’ and urged the High Court to quash GO 34.

The farmers told High Court that Telangana government is utilising GO 34 to illegally divert Krishna water in Nagarjunasagar, Srisailam, Pulichintala projects for hydel power generation due to which several districts in AP face danger of losing irrigation and drinking water.

The farmers moved lunch motion petition in the TS High Court.

The Telangana State cabinet has recently decided to take up hydel power generation in all irrigation projects to meet power demand for irrigation and drinking water schemes in Telangana.

This led to tussle between AP and Telangana with AP goverment complaining to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Union Jal Shakti ministry and Krishna River Management Board (KRMB) against Telangana government.

Andhra CM credits Rs 1,109 cr to women under zero interest scheme

2

Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy on Friday credited Rs 1,109 crore into the bank accounts of 1.02 crore women belonging to different self-help groups (SHG) as interest reimbursement under the ‘YSR Sunna Vaddi’ (zero interest) scheme.

“The state government stands for women’s empowerment and thus it rolled out schemes like Sunna Vaddi, Aasara, Cheyutha and Jeva Kranthi to strengthen women in all aspects,” Reddy said as he transferred the funds.

Similar to 2020, the state government paid the interest amount to women who took loans from banks in this year as well.

According to the Chief Minister, women from SHGs were allegedly burdened with over Rs 3,000 crore penal interest in the previous regime, believing that the previous government would waive off the loans as promised during the 2014 polls.

Reddy said that the number of beneficiaries under the scheme has gone up from 8.71 lakh to 9.34 lakh, empowered by the confidence in the current government.

“The government is committed to women’s welfare, economic progress and overall development of women,” he noted.

SEC defers leave, raises doubts on MPTC polls

0

The postponement of leave by State Election Commissioner N Ramesh Kumar has cast a shadow on the ZPTC and MPTC elections in AP. Ramesh has originally applied for leave from March 19 to 22 as he planned to go on LTA leave. However, he has written a fresh letter to Governor Biswabhushan Harichandan saying that he is postponing his leave in view of the mayor and municipal chairmen elections.

Ramesh Kumar is going to retire on March 31. Hence, he is wanting to utilise his LTA leave period before the last day of his retirement. Because of his latest postponement of leave, it would not be possible anymore to restart the ZPTC and MPTC elections.

On the other hand, the High Court of Andhra Pradesh has reserved its order after hearing many petitions seeking cancellation of the old notification of panchayat elections. The petitioners demanded reissue of the panchayat election notification.

As per the schedule, the municipal elections would be completed by March 19. Once Ramesh goes on leave after that, it would not be possible to hold the MPTC elections before the last day of Ramesh Kumar’s retirement.

Bring Tughlaqi Jagan to his senses: RSS to Centre

4

The Sangh Parivar is totally against the AP Capital shifting. They are religiously and emotionally connected to the historic temple town of Amaravati. As AP government is going ahead despite such opposition, the saffron brigade has further raised their voice against 3 Capitals. The RSS associate media Organiser put out a story now saying that the Central Government shall no longer allow the misgovernance of YCP Circar.

The RSS interestingly gave the controversial title ‘Tughlaqi Jagan’ to its story. It went on to say that Chandrababu might have made a mistake on not getting gazette notification of Amaravati but this should not be used as an excuse to shift Capital altogether. The RSS has been protesting against Jagan Capitals from the beginning but this is the first time they have openly expressed their serious objections.

The Organiser commented that Mohammad Bin Tughlaq changes Capital because there was threat of Mongol invasion to Delhi at that time. However, Tughlaq decisions hurt himself and also all his citizens. Now, AP people will also get badly hurt if the 3 Capitals plan is not reversed. RSS openly demanded the Modi government to interfere and bring Tughlaqi Jagan to his senses.

AP Ministers Pilli and Mopidevi will lose their posts?

0

Ministers Pilli Subhash Chandra Bose and Mopidevi Venkata Ramana are both Members of Legislative Council (MLCs). They are both known for their die-hard loyalty to the YSR family. Mopidevi is Jagan’s Co-Accused in CBI illegal assets cases and went to jail for sometime. Now, their Ministerial positions are doubtful as the State Cabinet has just abolished the Council. The two Ministers are also party to the abolition decision taken today. Will it be possible to continue them as Ministers for long? Discussions are started what would CM Jaganmohan Reddy do to the two Ministers now.

However, Jagan has promised to to somehow accommodate them. As per the rules, the members should get elected as MLC or MLA within six months of becoming the Ministers. The Council is being abolished just because the TDP members are in majority right now. After one year, the ruling YCP will gain more MLCs enough to win majority in the Upper House. Will Jagan revive the Council once the terms of most TDP MLCs are over? Fresh elections will have to be held if the Council is abolished and revived after a small gap. This will help YCP to hit two birds at one shot. Jagan can put TDP in a disadvantage while creating better political opportunities for itself afterwards.

CM Jagan appears before CBI Court: Rs 43,000-Cr illegal assets

0

For the first time, YS Jaganmohan Reddy appeared before the CBI Special Court in his capacity as the Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh. Till now, Jagan successfully avoided attending the court on some pretext or the other ever since becoming Chief Minister with brute majority. Jagan mother YS Vijayamma, his sister Sharmila, his party Number 2 leader Vijayasai Reddy, Konda Surekha family and others also appeared before the court. The AP CM is the Accused No 1 in the Rs 43,000-cr CBI illegal assets cases.

Interestingly, the CBI didn’t object to exemption from personal appearance for Jagan in the first four months of his rule. But things turned bad after Jagan Reddy embarrassed the Modi government internationally by cancelling the PPAs of global Sola Power Companies. Jagan Reddy also ignored the Central Government’s advice with regard to the multi-crore Polavaram project.

Jagan left Amaravati by a special aircraft and reached the Begumpet air port. From there, he went straight to the Nampally CBI Court. Jagan has been involved in over 11 CBI cases. In all these cases, the actual trial has not begun till now. The national media and Telugu media gave lot of focus on Jagan appearing before court for the first as CM. The police restricted media at CBI Court.

Amit Shah plan to win over 3 AP castes?

0

The TDP has suffered the worst possible defeat. Like never before, the party is facing an identity crisis. The predominant Kamma community is known for its majority support to TDP and to BJP in some pockets. Analysts say that the BJP will try hard to win over a major chunk of Kammas to prepare itself for 2024 AP poll battle.
Very soon, Amit Shah is expected to focus his attention on AP and begin his plans to win over Kammas, Kapus and Kshatriyas. These three communities are vital for the BJP if it wants to make electoral gains in AP in future. Reddys are not their immediate target because of their strong link to YCP which is also enjoying unquestioned loyalty of the SCs, STs and BCs.

Kapus are known for their support to Jana Sena of Pawan Kalyan who has failed to show promise of any future possibilities of coming to power. BJP wants to take this psychological advantage and gain good chunk of major castes.

Another loss of face for BJP in AP

0

The fake charges made by CBI officials against TDP MP CM Ramesh gave a big blow to BJP and Modi leadership as AP people are seething with anger at the new turn of events in the country’s top most investigating agency. TV commentators, general public and analysts term this as a shameful instance which will cause a huge loss of face to BJP ahead of 2019 elections in AP.

It is now clear that CM Ramesh’s name was deliberately dragged into the Moin Khureshi money laundering case by controversial CBI special director Rakesh Asthana. Ramesh was accused of influencing CBI Director Alok Varma to save one Sana Sathish in this case. These are now proved to be false charges.

Right from day one, AP Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu and TDP leaders have blamed Modi for misusing IT and CBI raids to harass the rival leaders in the state. Raids against Minister Narayana were cancelled at the last minute because of media backlash. But later CM Ramesh became a target for BJP which is using CBI as its political tool to harass rival parties.

Naidu has been saying that IT and CBI raids have increased in AP only after TDP broke its ties with the BJP-led NDA government at the Centre. BJP has even got a secret deal with tainted Jaganmohan Reddy who is an accused in several CBI illegal assets cases and who has spent several months in jail already.

Now, the CBI fake case against CM Ramesh exposed how certain anti-TDP forces had recklessly schemed and conspired to implicate ruling party leaders in AP. As this message has gone into the public, a situation may arise in near future when BJP leaders will not dare to face the AP voters for fear of open confrontations.

Delhi CM Aravind Kejriwal has made an interesting comment, saying that BJP is making a far worse misuse of CBI than earlier Congress government to embarrass rival politicians.

BJP’s game plan may have succeeded in Tamil Nadu and Karnataka but it cannot use such tactics in AP. Naidu and his team are always alert and quick to counter threats from BJP.

Pawan questions AP govt on lands given to Patanjali , Zindal and CM’s relatives

0

Pawan resumed his ‘Porata yatra’ and during this political tour he questioned yet again, the injustice meted to North Andhra region.

As part of this tour, he held public meeting, at S. Kota town in Vizianagaram district and he told in that meeting – “AP government failed not only in achieving Vizag railway zone but also in achieving ‘Railway Under Bridge’ at Kothavalasa in Vizianagaram district. And it is unfortunate that locals here had to do hunger strikes for the bridge” He added, “Government has given 3000 acres of land to Zindal and 200 acres for Patanjali in this area. But there are no industries set up by them till now. He also alleged, Chief minister’s relative could get the land here for Rs 35 lakh per acre while genuine industrials of North Andhra were demanded 3 crore. ”

He also fired salvos on CM as he said, “If I ask all these questions, CM says I am provoking North Andhra people. I am not here to provoke people but I want to ask these questions to governments on behalf of people”.

Jagan throws an open challenge at CBN! YSRCP MPs resign

0

YSRCP MPs submitted their resignation after the Lok Sabha has been indefinitely adjourned, without moving the No-Confidence Motion proposed by YSRCP, TDP and Indian National Congress. The AIADMK MPs continued to disrupt the business of the house, leading to an adjournment for one final time.

After the Lok Sabha has been adjourned, the YSRCP MPs have submitted their resignation to the Lok Sabha Speaker Sumitra Mahajan, by meeting her in the Speaker Chamber, within the Parliament premises. Reacting on the same, YSRCP Supremo YS Jagan took to Twitter to tweet the same and threw an open challenge to AP CM, and TDP President Chandrababu Naidu asking him to make the TDP MPs resign.

“We do as we say! YSRCP MPs are submitting their resignations today. I challenge @ncbn to make TDP MPs resign and stand united with the people of AP in their rightful demand of Special Category Status for Andhra Pradesh”, Jagan said in his tweet.

After submitting their resignations, the YSRCP MPs started an indefinite hunger strike.

Political analysts and parties’ strategists are keenly observing the political developments both at the Centre and the state. Whatever decision Chandrababu Naidu is likely to take now, is going to decide the fate of Telugu Desam Party in the 2019 AP Assembly Elections.
