Twitter on Monday launched a special emoji of superstar Rajinikanth for his film “Kaala”, which will release on June 7.

The users can get the specially designed emoji by tweeting #Kaala, a statement to IANS said.

The emoji appears next to the hashtag in the tweet and is inspired by Rajinikanth’s character from the film. The emoji will be active till June 10.

A marketing collaboration between Wunderbar Films Private Limited and Twitter, the emoji aims to delight Rajinikanth’s fans on Twitter by adding colour to the conversations and helping them connect to his character instantly.

Superstar Rajinikanth’s next outing Kaala is hitting the screens on June 7th after a small delay. PA Ranjith is the director and Rajinikanth plays a Mumbai based gangster in this action thriller. The movie completed all the formalities recently and the promotions of Kaala will kick-start next week. The movie’s runtime has been locked and it would last for 2 hours and 44 minutes. This is lengthy compared to the current trend but the makers are extremely confident on the output.

Lyca Productions is releasing Kaala across Telugu states after the makers failed to crack an impressive deal for the Telugu version. Eswari Rao, Samuthirakani, Nana Patekar and Huma Qureshi are playing other pivotal roles in Kaala which is releasing in Telugu, Tamil and Hindi languages. Dhanush’s Wunderbar Films produced Kaala and Santosh Narayanan composed the music and the background score.

He calls working on superstar Rajinikanth’s “Kaala” as one of his biggest projects, and was amazed at the magnitude of the Tamil film. Pete Draper, who is looking after the VFX of the movie, hopes the audience will not be able to tell the difference between the real world and computer generated imagery (CGI).

Makuta co-founder and CEO Draper has worked in big blockbusters “Eega”, “Ghajini”, “Magadheera”, “Endhiran” and “Baahubali”.

“The experience of working on the film has been very good. The set work which we have to do… It is one of the biggest that we have worked on,” Draper told IANS.

The trilingual movie also features Nana Patekar, Huma Qureshi, actor-director Samudrakani and Eswari Rao among others. The film is slated for release in June.

“They have built a 1 or 1.5 km set… We went out there for work. I hope you won’t be able to tell CGI in it,” he said, adding that some of the best CGI is the one that people don’t spot.

Draper spoke to IANS on behalf of AXN India for their show “Zoo”, which is replete with CGI.

Creating a world with the use of technology is not easy. Draper says it is tough to create imperfections in the perfect digital world.

“The problem with CGI is that it is perfect and the real world is not perfect. If you look around yourself, every single thing that you notice has some imperfection… Every single thing have small imperfections. We are not used to seeing perfection.

“As soon we see something which is literally perfect, we think that something is not right because you are not used to seeing that. We have to make things to convince the audience. So, creating a structure or an animation or creating a realistic thing is just the first stage.

“It is adding those inaccuracies, imperfection which is challenging.”

Superstar Rajinikanth’s long delayed gangster drama Kaala has been confirmed to hit the screens on June 7th after getting postponed a couple of times.

Directed by Ranjith Pa, the film stars Nana Patekar and Huma Qureshi in prominent roles.

The latest update reveals that the audio of Kaala, composed by Santosh Narayanan, will be out on May 9th. The makers have decided to release the audio in all languages on the same day.

With the ongoing strike of theatres, all the films that have been planned for March release have been delayed. Rajinikanth too has been holding talks but a clarity on the release date is expected only after the strike gets called off. Despite of several sets of discussions, the issue between the theatre owners and the digital providers are yet to be resolved.

With lot of speculations on about the release date of Kaala, Lyca Productions who is distributing Kaala once again clarified that they would respect the Tamil Film Producers Council’s decision. “We are in sync with the Producers Council and in complete support of the demands. We will comply with the same till the system is rectified” posted Lyca on their official twitter handle.

Rajinikanth Kaala satellite rights sold for Rs 75 cr

Superstar Rajinikanth’s Kaala, one of the tentpole films this season, has started toppling several records even before it has hit the screens.

According to the latest reports in Tamil media circles, the satellite rights of the Ranjith Pa directional have been bagged by Star TV for a staggering 75 Crores. The deal includes the rights of Telugu, Tamil and Hindi language rights. This is a record price considering that no other South Indian film barring 2Point0 and Baahubali managed to create such a hysteria without boasting top cast and technical crew and star director.

Also, despite the fact that Rajini’s previous film with Ranjith Pa Kabali failed to match the high expectations didn’t impact the business and buzz on Kaala.

The film is slated to hit the screens on April 27 worldwide.

As it is now loud and clear that Rajini’s highly anticipated film 2Point0 has been postponed to an indefinite date due to the delay in the post production work, the makers of his another long awaited film, Kaala, which has already wrapped up its shoot have decided to take advantage of the vacant slot in Summer.

According to an official statement from the production house, Kaala will hit the screens on April 27. A stylish poster featuring Rajinikanth in a mass avatar has been released to announce the release date. Dhanush is the film’s producer.

Superstar Rajinikanth signed one more film for PA Ranjith after the release of Kabali. The movie has been titled Kaala and Rajini essays the role of a gangster in this action drama. Rajini started shooting for the film in Mumbai recently and 70% of the film’s shoot has been wrapped up already. Kaala is the fastest shot film among Rajinikanth’s movies and the entire shoot of the film has been aimed to be wrapped up by the last week of October.

There are talks that Rajinikanth is all set to make his debut into politics and is in plans to wrap up his film commitments. The actor even completed the entire work for 2.0 which has been aimed for January 25th 2018 release. Rajinikanth who has been unwell for sometime is said to recovered completely and is shooting for Kaala.
