He also reiterated that if anyone has any doubts about our government’s commitment to job recruitment, they can approach respective departments and clarify.

Union Minister’s statement on ITIR ‘factually incorrect’: KTR

0

Telangana’s Information Technology and Industry Ministry K.T. Rama Rao on Thursday termed as “factually incorrect” the statement on Information Technology and Investment Region (ITIR), Hyderabad, given by Union Minister of State for Electronics and Information Technology Sanjay Dhotre in the Lok Sabha.

Dhotre was responding to a question by BJP member Bandi Sanjay Kumar on Wednesday.

KTR, as the Telangana minister is known, claimed that in spite of submitting all necessary information, the Detailed Project Report (DPR) and also several reminders in the last six years, the Union Minister chose to mislead the house.

The Union Minister said: “The Government of Telangana was asked to submit the required information to the concerned ministries with intimation to MeitY. No information was furnished by the Government of Telangana.”

KTR said that it was very unfair on the part of the NDA government and the Telangana BJP leaders to blame the Telangana government despite repeated requests by the state government to the Centre.

He recalled that first such letter was written to Prime Minister Narendra Modi by Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao as soon as the state of Telangana was formed in June 2014.

KTR submitted another detailed memorandum on ITIR to the Centre in September 2014.

He said in 2016 he met the then Union Minister of State for Labour and Employment Bandaru Dattatreya to present the DPR in response to the latter’s comments that the Telangana government did not submit a project report for ITIR.

“Though the Telangana government presented a project report on ITIR twice, Union Minister Bandaru Dattatreya commented that we did not submit the DPR. Probably he might have been misguided by officials. To put things straight and make facts clear, I have personally met him, informed him, and also presented the DPR of ITIR once again,” KTR had told media after meeting Dattatreya.

Several reminders about ITIR Project were submitted to Prime Minister Modi and Union Electronics and IT Minister Ravi Shankar Prasad over the last six years. “Yet the NDA government chose to ignore these requests. The intention to discontinue the ITIR Project was very clearly understood by the noncommittal responses of NDA government.”

Last month, KTR wrote a letter to Prasad requesting funds for the ITIR project. Yet, the union government did not allocate a single rupee in the current year’s budget, he said.

“While the facts are thus, it is unfortunate that Union Minister Sanjay Dhotre chose to issue a factually incorrect statement. It is also irresponsible on the part of state BJP leaders to resort to a smear campaign on the Telangana State Government without ascertaining the facts,” he added.

Hyderabad has all advantages to become logistics hub: KTR

1

Hyderabad, with its strategic location and good infrastructure, has all the facilities to emerge as a logistics hub serving the growing manufacturing industry, Telangana Industry Minister K.T. Rama Rao said.

The minister on Thursday inaugurated a state-of-the-art logistics park at Bata Singaram near the city, developed at a cost of Rs 40 crore in Public Private Partnership (PPP) mode.

Stating that Hyderabad is one of fastest growing cities in the world, he said there is potential for setting up of many logistic parks around the Outer Ring Road (ORR).

He asked Hyderabad Metropolitan Development Authority (HMDA) to work on setting up logistic parks near eight important highways including those leading to Vijayawada, Bengaluru, Mumbai and Ramagundam. He said the logistic parks will give impetus to the manufacturing sector.

KTR, as the minister is popularly known, revealed that draft of logistic policy is ready and it will soon be approved by the cabinet to encourage the sector.

He said the growth of this sector could provide employment opportunities to people. According to Logistics Skill Council, even those who have studied upto Class 10 or 12 can get jobs.

He referred to the reports by various research organisations, estimating the requirement of 1.5 crore square feet of warehouses. Currently, the city has 50 lakh square feet of warehouses.

Pointing out that Hyderabad is attracting many new industries, the minister said the city due to its central location in the country has the advantage of emerging as a logistics hub.

“If we create logistic parks, we can ensure smooth and hassle free movement of goods manufactured here to other parts of the country,” he said.

KTR said that Hyderabad has the best infrastructure including 24 hours power supply. He claimed that the government has also ensured that the city faces no drinking water problem till 2040.

The logistics park at Bata Singaram in Ibrahimpatnam Assembly constituency has been developed by the HMDA in partnership with Truck Dock Logistics over 40 acres.

It provides facilities such as warehouses (2 lakh square feet), parking for 500 trucks, cold storage for 10,000 metric tonnes, dormitory for 200 persons, restaurants, office space, fuel stations, primary health centre, and automobile service centre.

The park has the potential to expand warehouse space by another 5 lakh square feet.

This is the second integrated logistics park to come up in Hyderabad. The first one at Mangalapally in the same constituency was inaugurated in 2019.

According to the HMDA, logistics parks act as an integrated one stop facility for freight operators, Third Party Logistic (3PL) service providers, cargo handling companies, truck drivers, warehousing, parking etc.

Hyderabad continues its supremacy in attracting global investments especially from the US. Now, yet another Fortune 500 company signed a deal with Telangana to set up its multi-crore centre in the State. The agreement was reached between IT and Industries Minister KTR and Arthur Reel, technical head of MassMutual, which is an insurance and financial services company with 170 years of experience.

KTR said that it was yet another glowing feather in the cap of Telangana with MassMutual coming to Hyderabad. The company stands in 89th position in the list of Fortune 500 companies in the world. Mass Mutual is now going to set up its Global Capability Centre in the Telangana Capital. It is going to invest Rs. 1,000 Cr in its new centre to be set up in 1.5 lakh sft in the financial district located at Nanakramguda.

KT Rama Rao has said that the company will be initially creating 300 jobs. More than that, the prestigiou Mass Mutual is setting up its first centre outside of the US in Hyderabad city here. This is indeed a big compliment for Telangana State. The IT Minister expressed happiness at Hyderabad going to the next level in its capability to attract international investments by leaps and bounds. All the necessary infrastructure is being created in the cosmopolitan city to meet the emerging needs of its expansion and to welcome future investments. Growth slowed down in Hyderabad between 2015 and 2019 but the city started seeing exponential progress since 2019.

Telangana seeks funds from Centre for municipal projects

2

Telangana’s Municipal Administration and Urban Development Minister K.T. Rama Rao has urged the Centre to allocate funds in the Union Budget 2021-22 for various municipal projects in the state.

He has written letters to Union Housing and Urban Affairs Minister Hardip Singh Puri and Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman requesting funds for the Strategic Nala Development Plan (SNDP), developing a sewer network infrastructure for liquid waste collection in Hyderabad Urban Agglomeration (HUA) area, a Metro Net Project in Warangal, and solid waste management in urban local bodies in the state.

KTR, as the state minister is popularly known, said that to develop the sewer network infrastructure for liquid waste collection in the HUA area, the government has introduced a Comprehensive Sewerage Master Plan (CSMP), already made detailed study of planning, survey, design, estimations and prepared a detailed project report.

He also mentioned that in compliance with the National Green Tribunal (NGT) directions to mitigate the sewage pollution in Musi river stretches and water bodies in HUA, CSMP is being given top priority. The sewage line network for a total length of 2,232 km is proposed, consisting of connection network, sub mains and trunk sewers to the STPs at a total cost of Rs 3,722 crore and the government would take up to 36 months for finishing the works, he said.

KTR requested for a sanction of 20 per cent of the project cost which would be Rs 750 crore out of the total project cost of Rs 3,722 crore.

Mentioning the recent flood situation in Hyderabad and its after effects, the minister highlighted the challenges in natural flow of water due to narrowing of nalas, and storm water drains over the years in Hyderabad.

“As a permanent solution to the issue, the government has set up Strategic Nala Development Plan (SNDP), a dedicated project headed by the GHMC to plan and develop a comprehensive storm water drainage network in Hyderabad,” he said. While the SNDP cost is Rs 1,200 crore, he sought Rs 240 crore funds for the project.

“To strengthen the public transport in Warangal, keeping in mind the present and future requirements of the citizens, the Government of Telangana intends to set up Metro Neo Project,” said KTR. He stated that at present the population of Warangal is about 15 lakh and would increase up to 35 lakh by 2051.

Metro Neo Project in Nashik, which was set up by Maharashtra Metro Rail Corporation Ltd, has prepared a DPR on setting up of Metro Neo Project in Warangal, similar to that of Nashik.

As per the DPR, Warangal Metro Neo Rail will be of 15.5 km length and would be laid at an estimated cost of Rs 1,050 crore. KTR requested for a sanction of Rs 210 crore from the Centre for this.

Noting that the Telangana government is in the forefront in implementing the citizen centric reforms, he said that tenders were finalised for bio-mining solid waste in the ULBs of the state at an estimated cost of Rs 258 crore for 2021-22. Tenders were also finalised for bio-mining and remediation of 70 lakh metric tons of legacy waste in ULBs in the state with an estimated cost of Rs 520 crore.

Works for construction of Fecal Sludge Treatment Plant (FSTP) in 71 ULBs have commenced and in 5 ULBs, the works have already been completed. The government is spending Rs 250 crore for the works.

DPRs for underground drainage and waste treatment were prepared for 57 ULBs in the state with an estimated cost of Rs 13, 238 crore. In the first phase, works will be taken up in about 30 ULBs at a cost of Rs 2,828 crore.

With about Rs 3,777 crore, the state government will work on various projects during FY 2021-22. “Since these are major works of infrastructure, it is requested that the Government of India may share 20 per cent of these expenditures and provide Rs 750 Crore in the budget for 2021-22,” he said.

Telangana seeks funds from Centre for handlooms, textiles

0

Telangana’s Industry Minister K.T. Rama Rao has urged the Centre to allocate funds in the Union Budget 2021-22 for development of handlooms and textiles in the state.

In a letter to Union Textiles Minister Smriti Z. Irani, he sought funds for the development of the Kakatiya Mega Textile Park, and sanction of a mega powerloom cluster at Sircilla as well as certain proposals for the development of handlooms and textiles.

He said that Kakatiya Mega Textile Park (KMTP) at Warangal would take off in 2021-22. “KMTP is being developed at a total estimated project cost of Rs 1,552 crore of which the core infrastructure works would cost approximately Rs 1,094 crore. We have aligned our project activities such that major external and internal infrastructure works at KMTP can be taken up immediately upon receipt of the proposed financial support under the Mega Textile Park scheme,” he said.

“Under the proposed scheme, we understand that a total of Rs 500 crore capital support is available for a Mega Textile Park. We request that approximately Rs 300 crore of this amount be released at the earliest to kick start major external infrastructure works urgently needed at the park,” wrote KTR, as the minister is popularly known.

Noting that there are 35,588 power looms in Telangana, the minister said 25,495 of them are in Sircilla district alone.

“Taking into account of existing power looms, the Sircilla district stands best suitable to establish Mega Powerloom Cluster under Comprehensive Powerloom Cluster Development Scheme (CPCDS) and submission of a proposal to Govt of India for sanction and developing Mega Powerloom Cluster therein, such as Ichalkaranji (Maharashtra, Surat (Gujarat) Karanpura & Solar, etc, which were already sanctioned as Mega Powerloom Clusters during 12th Five Year Plan during 2017-18 to 2019-20,” he said.

KTR urged Irani to sanction a mega powerloom cluster at Sircilla and sanction Rs 49.84 crore out of the projected outlay of Rs 993.65 crore towards filling various gaps and to implement the components including infrastructure gaps, modernisation, and expansion of production base, strengthen of value chain, market development, skill development and capacity building and administration studies and project monitoring costs of textile park, weaving and apparel park at Sircilla.

He also sought sanctioning of the Indian Institute of Handloom Technology (IIHT) for Telangana as the state has no such institute offer a course in diploma in handloom technology, and aspirants have to go to neighbouring states such as Andhra Pradesh, Orissa, Tamil Nadu, Karnataka to acquire admissions in an IIHT.

He further stated that sufficient land with a constructed building facility is available at Handloom Park, Pochampally, Yadadri Bhongir district for the establishment of the IIHT.

KTR announces 20,000 litres free water per family

1

The ruling TRS in Telangana has narrowly escaped from a huge electoral setback in the recent GHMC elections. Now, KCR-KTR are obviously making corrective steps to prevent further damages in future. As Municipal Administration Minister, KTR has even announced formally that their Government would ensure free drinking water supply up to 20,000 litres per family from the beginning of 2021.
KTR has said that all discussions were made and it was decided that the Water Board start supplying the 20,000 litre free water from the first week of January itself. This was being implemented as part of Chief Minister K Chandrasekhara Rao’s promise to give free water to the citizens of Hyderabad.
It is well known the TRS is facing a strong backlash from the BJP leaders who are in an upbeat mood ever since their electoral gains in the GHMC polls. With the emergence of the BJP as a strong force on the Hyderabad political scene, no party is getting enough majority to claim the mayor post.
Under the given political situation, KTR is focusing his time and energy on taking his party closer to the voters of the twin cities. Already, a review has been done on all the nala connections and supply network.

KTR expands IT all over Telangana but no such efforts in AP

5

Telangana is increasingly fortunate in all respects ever since the 2014 AP Reorganisation. It has got Hyderabad metro city as its Capital City. What more, the State has got political stability with the same party winning successive elections in 2014 and 2019. The same Chief Minister continuing for the past seven and half years is another boon since there are no policy disruptions. Hyderabad is bringing huge revenue with its IT industry contributing a major share as well.
Despite making lots of progress, Minister KT Rama Rao has once again come out with a big plan to expand IT industry further. He is talking of opening more IT parks in Uppal, Nacharam, Kompelli and other outlying areas in Hyderabad. What more, KTR says their Government is going to expand IT parks network in towns all over Telangana. These include Warangal, Mahbubnagar, Karimnagar, etc.
The future appears to be software industry. Only around this, all sectors are expected to grow. While Telangana is making big progress in this respect, Andhra Pradesh is lagging far behind. Lack of political stability and politics of confrontation are having a huge negative impact. Visakhapatnam was initially promoted as an IT hub. Now, that emphasis took a back seat with the port city being promoted as the Executive Capital City with major buildings and infrastructure being re-allocated for administration machinery.

BJP copy-pasted TRS manifesto: KTR

0

Hours after the BJP released its manifesto for the upcoming Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation elections, IT and MAUD minister K T Rama Rao alleged that the saffron party’s manifesto is copied-pasted from the TRS manifesto.
He remarked that the BJP lacked ingenuity even in the use of images in its manifesto. He alleged that the BJP not only copied several promises made by the ruling TRS manifesto, but even the images used in the saffron party’s manifesto are also the schemes already grounded by the ruling TRS party.
“Dear manifesto writers, glad that you chose pictures of the work done by TRS govt in GHMC manifesto. We will take this as a compliment to our work. But let me remind you what they say in Hyderabad. Nakal marne ko bhi akal chahie (even to copy you need brains),” he tweeted.
In another tweet, KTR wrote, “Wonder who is fooling who? State BJP promises the moon for votes in GHMC elections but union minister says they can’t give a dime from Delhi!”
The BJP promised free water supply, free power to all houses using less than 100 units. Further, the saffron party promised free metro and bus rides for women and scrapping of the Layout Regularisation Scheme. The BJP said it will give Rs 25,000 each to flood-affected family, financial assistance to build one lakh houses under PM Awas Yojana, waiver of property tax in all SC colonies, enactment of Sumedha Act to remove illegal encroachments
Earlier, KTR criticized the Congress manifesto as the joke of the year after the Congress promised free drinking water for people using up to 30,000 litres of water, and Rs 50,000 to every flood-affected family, and Rs 5 lakh and Rs 2.5 lakh to fully and partially destroyed houses.
The TRS in its manifesto promised free water to the households which consumed not more than 20,000 liters a month and free power supply to salons, dhobi ghats, and laundries across the state. The pink party also promised to reimburse the state GST for small budget films (up to Rs 10 crore) allowing the theatres to increase the number of shows per day.
Immediately after TRS released its manifesto, Union Minister of State for Home Affairs G Kishan Reddy alleged that the ruling party’s “useless” manifesto is copied-pasted from the earlier one of 2016 as they have not fulfilled the previous. He alleged that since 2014, the TRS party has been repeating the same promises over and over like a “gramophone record”. He said the TRS party had failed to fulfill its promises made in the last elections.

Akbaruddin Owaisi remarks irks KTR

2

Ahead of the GHMC polls, there seems to be friction between the ruling TRS and its ally AIMIM.

AIMIM leader Akbaruddin Owaisi made controversial remarks that the memorials of former prime minister PV Narasimha Rao statue and tomb of former chief minister and iconic matinee idol NT Rama Rao on Hussain Sagar need to be razed as they occupied several acres. He said the the land belonging to Hussainsagar has drastically shrunk from 4,700 acres to 700 acres.

AIMIM MLA Akbaruddin Owaisi also criticised the TRS government stating that it had failed to hand over the double bedroom houses to the poor as they promised during the previous election. “The government is making the same promises for the poor which made during the last election in the state” he added.

IT and MAUD Minsiter K T Ramarao was quick to react. He condemned the remarks made by Akbaruddin Owaisi stating that both PV and NTR are legendary sons of the soil. “P V Narasimha Rao was the former prime minister and NTR was the CM. The remarks made by Akbaruddin Owaisi are in bad taste and highly condemnable. The contribution of PV and NTR are undoubtedly unparalleled. They have relentlessly worked for the cause of Telugu community and made honest efforts to uphold the dignity and pride of Telugu people. It is most unfortunate that Akbaruddin Owaisi made such comments. We condemn the remarks in the strongest terms. Such comments are unacceptable, KTR said.

AIMIM party is contesting in 51 divisions out of 150 in the ensuing GHMC election unlike for 60 seats in 2016.

Owaisi’s MIM is a threat, not BJP: KTR

1

IT and MAUD Minister K T Rama Rao has intensified his campaign for the upcoming GHMC elections asking voters to choose between development or destruction.

“Do you want development of Hyderabad or destruction? If you want development, defeat the polarizing forces that are trying to divide the people of the state on the communal lines and whipping up Hindu-Muslim passions. The BJP’s attempt to polarize voters on religious lines will not work as voters in the State are mature,” he said.
KTR launched rhetoric in his inimitable style asking the voters, “Do you want Gulabi (pink color) or do you want to be Delhi’s ‘Ghulam’ (slaves of Delhi). We are local. Drive out the communal forces from the city, and the state. Such parties have no place in developmental politics,” he said.

He also remarked that the saffron party was trying to disturb peace in the state while referring to State BJP president Bandi Sanjay Kumar remark that there will be “surgical strikes” in the Old City. For the last six years, Telangana has remained peaceful. There have been no instances of bomb blasts, riots or any form of violence. This is the reason why tech giants like Apple, Amazon, Facebook have chosen Hyderabad as their investment destination. If political leaders come to your colonies seeking votes, ask them what they did for the development of Hyderabad,” he stated.

“Why surgical strikes in Hyderabad? The Union government should unleash surgical strikes against unemployment, surgical strikes against crime against women. Look at the BJP ruled states, especially Uttar Pradesh, where there is a high incidence of atrocities against women. Why is the Modi government not unleashing surgical strikes against criminals in Uttar Pradesh,” he questioned.

KTR, who has been extensively touring the city to campaign for TRS candidates in R K Puram, Saroornagar, Lingojiguda, Nagole, Kothapeta, said the BJP has stalled the TRS government’s flood relief measures by complaining to the state election commission. “The government has been serious about rehabilitating the flood victims and had been giving Rs 10,000 flood relief to the victims of torrential rains, but the BJP stalled it,” he criticized.

He further stated that the TRS main threat in the GHMC elections was not the BJP, but Asaduddin Owaisi-led AIMIM. “We don’t consider BJP as a political threat. Our main threat is the MIM,” he said.

KCR-KTR shower love and affection on Andhra voters

1

Increased competition in the GHMC elections seems to have humbled the TRS party a bit. KCR, who is known for his hate comments against Andhras, has also softened like never before. His son KTR too is going a step further to talk sympathetically about the cause of Andhra Pradesh.

Coming just right after the overwhelming floods, the GHMC elections have indeed become a timely chance for the BJP to increase its pressure on the ruling party. The BJP leaders are also emboldened after the recent sensational victory in Dubbaka byelection.

Naturally, there are ample chances for the BJP to attract the Seemandhra voters in Hyderabad. However, the way injustice is being done to Andhra Pradesh is still a matter of concern. The Central funds are not coming for AP projects. Major projects like Polavaram and Amaravati are badly hit.

As such, KCR seems to have reversed his stand and started wooing Andhra voters in a subtle way. He has offered lots of sops for Tollywood which is mostly dominated by Andhras. On the other hand, KTR has talked about how AP Capital has been neglected by the Modi Government. Apparently, the father-son duo are all out to counter the BJP move to woo Andhra vote bank.

Modi gave mud and water to Amaravati: KTR

5

IT and MAUD minister K T Rama Rao launched a broadside against the Modi government stating that union government has done injustice not just to the people Telangana but also Andhra Pradesh.

Addressing a builders federation conference in Hyderabad, KTR as he is popularly known as, said the Modi government has not fulfilled any of its promises it made during the inauguration of Amaravati as capital of Andhra Pradesh. He only gave little bit of soil and drops of water to Amaravati and nothing else.

He criticised the Union government for its alleged failure fulfil the promise to Andhra Pradesh. KTR said the central BJP has done nothing for Hyderabad during the last six years. “They have given nothing for Telangana and even to Andhra Pradesh. When the foundation stone was laid for the capital city, Prime Minister Narendra Modi gave mud and water,” said.

Hitting out at union minister Prakash Javedkar for his comments on Hyderabad roads, KTR said, “Javedkar commented that the roads in Hyderadad are full of potholes. e said he would give Rs 1 lakh if there is no road with potholes. Show me a road without potholes in any of the cities in the BJP ruled states. I will give him Rs 10 lakh from my pocket,” KTR said.

Further, he challenged the state BJP leaders to get Rs 1 lakh crore package to the state. “If the state BJP leaders can impress upon the central BJP leadership to grant Rs 1 lakh crore to Telangana, I will accept Modi as a great leader. The Modi government did nothing to both the Telugu states,” he criticised.

Defeat doesn’t demoralize us: KTR

1

KT Rama Rao, IT minister and Chief Minister in waiting, on Tuesday, conceded defeat in the Dubbaka Assembly byelection while thanking the people for voting for the TRS.

Stating that the party will review and evaluate the party’s defeat in the polls, KTR however said the party has accepted its defeat with humility. He said the party will not be overwhelmed if it wins nor will it be disheartened by defeat. “Sometimes we get discouraged when results are not as per our expectations but I would like to tell our workers to not be disheartened. We will review and continue to work for the people with our policies. Victory doesn’t make us arrogant, defeat doesn’t demoralize us. If people’s mandate is against us, we have to gracefully accept it. However, I thank all the voters who voted for the party.”

He thanked finance minister Harish Rao and the scores of TRS workers for relentlessly working to ensure the party’s victory. Further, the IT and MAUD minister vowed to rebuild and revive the party at the grassroots level. The IT minister also said the party is not nervous as he knows that the polls will have something good for the party. “The victory or loss certainly have their respective meanings but these are not the reasons for which we will be disheartened and continue to serve the people with even more grit and determination. The results will help us do some introspection and review in the days to come.”

BJP candidate M Raghunandan Rao defeated TRS candidate Ramalinga Reddy’s wife Solipeta Sujatha by a wafer-thin margin of votes. While Solipeta Sujatha polled 61,302, Raghunandan gave a tough fight by polling 62,772 votes. The BJP pinned high hopes on Raghunandan Rao although he had lost the 2018 Assembly and 2019 Lok Sabha elections. The Congress has fielded Cheruku Srinivas Reddy, the son of late former minister Cheruku Muthyam Reddy, who polled 29,239 votes.

With the Dubbaka bypoll victory, the BJP seems to have made it’s first big has made deep inroads in the state which appeared to be impregnable with K Chandrasekhar Rao being at the helm of affairs.

No place for communal agenda in Telangana: KTR

0

In a big setback to the saffron party amid the ongoing tussle between ruling TRS party and the BJP, the saffron party’s senior leader and state spokesperson Ravula Sridhar Reddy who quit the party on Monday joined the pink party in the presence of IT and MAUD minister K T Rama Rao.

The IT minister welcomed Sridhar Reddy into the party fold along with several BJP leaders.

Welcoming Sridhar Reddy into the party fold, KTR came down heavily on the BJP stating that the party is daydreaming that it can make inroads into the Telangana.

He said the central BJP leadership is breaking the country’s agricultural backbone through its farm farm policies which is detrimental to the interests of the farmers.
