BCs narrate their cup of woes to Lokesh

0

The toddy workers at Vajralapalli camp site in Puthalapattu Assembly segment complained to TDP general secretary, Nara Lokesh, on Saturday that the Jagan Mohan Reddy Government is not extending any kind of assistance to them. Lokesh is at the Vajralapalli campsite as part of his ongoing pada yatra ‘Yuva Galam’.

They told Lokesh that to market illicit liquor, the toddy-tappers are being harassed by the State Government. The toddy-tappers demanded that 25 per cent of the liquor shops be allotted to them and said that Chief Minister, Jagan Mohan Reddy, who promised pension for all BC women who completed the age of 45 years has literally cheated them, they told Mr Lokesh.

The local Vaddera community members demanded that they be enlisted into the ST category as the community has over two lakh population in the combined Chittoor district. They said with the increasing use of machinery they lost employment and are migrating to other States in search of jobs. The Vaddera community demanded that a certain percentage in quarries be allocated exclusively for them.

The local Viswa Brahmin community too narrated their cup of woes to Lokesh. They said that due to the use of machinery these days they totally lost employment and that the State Government should come to the rescue of the goldsmiths. The Mudiraj wanted Mr Lokesh to take up the issue of changing them from BC-D category to BC-A.

The State Government is not even issuing community certificates to Padmasalis, they said. Rajakas too are very backward, and the State government is not allotting dhobi ghats to them and not extending any financial assistance to the community, they told Lokesh. Kurubas and Yadavas too complained to Mr Lokesh that they are being ignored by this Government as there is no financial assistance for them.

Responding to the problems narrated by these communities, Lokesh said that the BC felt real independence only during the TDP regime as maximum possible funds were allocated for the community by the then government. “I do make false promises like Mr Jagan and not even a single BC member received loans after the YSRCP came to power though 56 corporations for various communities have been set up,” Lokesh remarked.

Economic independence for women only during TDP regime, says Lokesh

0

Women in the State got economic independence only with the initiative taken by the TDP during its regime, said its general secretary, Nara Lokesh, on Friday.

During his ongoing pada yatra ‘Yuva Galam’, Lokesh on Friday interacted with women at Seshapuram in Puthalapattu Assembly segment. Despite deficit in the budget in 2014, the then TDP government allocated Rs 20 cr for Pasupu Kumkuma scheme keeping in view the welfare of women, he said.

But, Chief Minister, Jagan Mohan Reddy, who promised pension for women belonging to the SCs, STs and Minorities communities who completed 45 years of age deceived them by not keeping his promise, Lokesh pointed out.

“The Centre on the floor of Parliament admitted that 52,587 women in Andhra Pradesh were victims of various kinds of atrocities and 900 women died due to different kinds of harassment,” Lokesh pointed out. At least one accused in these cases is sentenced to life imprisonment under the provisions of the Disa Act or subjected to any serious punishment, he asked.

Jagan who promised total prohibition in the State is now encouraging illicit liquor sale, which is resulting in loss of several lives, he remarked and said that the illicit liquor is being manufactured in the distilleries owned by benamis of Jagan. The difference in the diesel prices between Andhra Pradesh and Karnataka is Rs 12, he added.

The future of the citizens of AP, particularly the younger generation will be bright only if Chandrababu Naidu becomes the chief minister again, he said. The State government starts shivering on hearing the very name of ‘Yuva Galam’, Lokesh said and felt that the entire police system almost surrendered to the ruling party.

The TDP leaders of Rompicherla met Lokesh and complained to him that the local police officials are threatening them with dire consequences if they move with the TDP leaders. They said that the atrocities of local YSRCP leaders in Punganur reached their peak and the police are acting in a totally biased manner.

Stating that the local YSRCP leaders attacked them with beer bottles on January 7 resulting in serious injuries to many TDP activists, the party leaders said that even the banners are being damaged every time. Illegal cases are being foisted against the TDP activists, they told Lokesh.

Responding to them, Lokesh said that he will stand by them, and they can always take his support for granted. He made it clear that getting scared is not in the bio data of the TDP and said that in the coming polls the TDP flag will be hoisted in Punganur. Once the TDP is back in power, all these illegal cases will be lifted, Lokesh said.

Cops seize vehicles in Yuvagalam at Palamaneru

0

The local police on Thursday seized the campaign vehicle in the convoy of TDP general secretary, Nara Lokesh at Palamaneru.

The police led by local Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) reached the padayatra and seized the vehicles.

The DSP said that the vehicle is seized since it is being run without proper permission. The TDP activists in large numbers staged protests on the road against the police action and asked why the police resorted to the seizure of the vehicle.

Lokesh said that after Jagan Mohan Reddy became the Chief Minister at least 19 cases, including an SC, ST atrocities case and an attempt to muurder cases, were filed against him while not even a single case was registered against him earlier.

“The State government even issued the GO No-1 to prevent me from taking up my pada yatra and later I made it clear that the Yuva Galam will not be stopped come what may,” Lokesh said.

He also made it clear that the Varahi of Jana Sena chief, Pawan Kalyan, too will move ahead.

Lokesh warned those who damaged the flexees at Byreddypalli of paying back with interest once the TDP is back in the government.

The TDP general secretary called upon the party activists to join the Yuva Galam (youth voice) to save the State from this psycho rule.

“If you want a better future for you this psycho should go and the cycle should be back in power,” Lokesh said.

Equal justice for all is TDP’s policy, says Lokesh

0

The TDP, while in power, never harassed any section of people and equal justice for all is the policy of the party, said its general secretary, Nara Lokesh, on Thursday.

During his seventh day of his pada yatra ‘Yuva Galam’, Lokesh met leaders of the Arya Vysya community at Emmaus Hospital camp site where he said that the TDP during its rule never harassed the community but Jagan Mohan Reddy after becoming the Chief Minister of the State the people of the Arya Vysya community are suffering a lot.

“The situation is so bad that many persons of the community are resorting to suicides as they are unable to bear the harassment by the local ruling party leaders,” Lokesh said with serious concern.

They are unable to continue their business interests and are unable to pay the ‘J’ tax being imposed on the community people, Mr Lokesh said, adding that the TDP while in power has given maximum priority for the community leaders, including giving room in the Cabinet and in the Rajya Sabha.

Even an Arya Vysya Corporation was formed for the welfare of the community and Rs 30 cr funds were allocated for the corporation, he pointed out.

Lokesh asked as to why the temple of Goddess Kanyaka Parameswari was damaged and why there is no representation from the Arya Vysya community in the Cabinet now. “A lone representative of the community in the Cabinet was removed from the post and no funds for the corporation,” he stated.

Lokesh assured the community leaders that the Arya Vysya Corporation will be revived soon after the TDP assumes charge again. Also, the community people will be encouraged to grow both economically and politically, he said.

In the presence of Lokesh several local leaders from Palamaner joined the TDP. Majority of them are youth and leaders from the Muslim community belonging to MC Palem and Rangapuram villages in the segment.

Former sarpanch of Morum, P Viswanatha Reddy, is among several local leaders who joined the TDP. Lokesh called upon them to work hard for strengthening the party base in the Palamaner Assembly segment.

Later, the pada yatra entered Palamaner town where thousands of party activists and the general public gave a rousing reception to Lokesh. They showered flowers on him and Lokesh sought the blessings of the elders in the town.

Jagan’s policies are anti-farmer, says Lokesh

0

TDP general secretary, Nara Lokesh on Wednesday promised the sugarcane farmers all possible assistance, including supply of quality fertilisers and pesticides.

On the sixth day of his pada yatra ‘Yuva Galam’, Lokesh met the sugarcane farmers at Sake Vuru of Baireddipalle mandal. The farmers narrated their problems including the heavy investment. With the increase in the labour charges, seed, fertilisers and pesticides prices, they said that they are incurring heavy losses.

The farmers also complained that they are not getting Rythu Bharosa scheme benefits and even the Amma Vodi scheme as they have two children each. The farmers wanted the problems of the sugarcane farmers to be resolved after the TDP comes back to power.

Lokesh felt that the farmers are facing various difficulties as the Minimum Support Price (MSP) is not being paid to them. This YSRCP Government is adopting anti-farmer policies, he said and promised to take all necessary measures to resolve the farmers problems once the TDP is back in power.

Later, Lokesh addressed the Valmiki community leaders at Belupalle of Baireddipalle mandal, where he said that Chief Minister, Jagan Mohan Reddy, has deceived the community by not fulfilling the promises that he had made.

“There is no response from the government on the demand of the Valmikis to include them into the Scheduled Tribes (STs) and the community members are suffering due to lack of employment opportunities following which they are migrating to the neighbouring States like Karnataka and Tamil Nadu in search of jobs,” Lokesh said.

The TDP general secretary pointed out that during the TDP regime the Satyapal committee was formed to study their problems and a resolution was passed by the Assembly in 2017 to include them in the STs list.

“During the TDP regime loans were sanctioned to the community members on subsidy but this Government did not sanction loans to even a single person in the Valmiki community,” he stated.

Though the YSRCP has so many MPs. they are not even asking the Centre to include the community into STs, Lokesh observed.

Promising the Valmiki community that seperate companies will be set up in this area to provide employment to them, Lokesh said that he has personally written to Jagan to include the community in the list of STs.

State moving in reverse direction, says Lokesh

0

TDP general secretary, Nara Lokesh, on Monday said that when the TDP was in power the State progressed well but after the YSRCP came to power it is moving in the reverse direction.

Interacting with the youth at the ‘Hello Lokesh’ programme organised at the GMR Kalyana Mantapam by the locals here as part of his ongoing pada yatra ‘Yuva Galam’, Lokesh said that Andhra Pradesh was moving on the progressive path for 67 years. “But after Jagan Mohan Reddy has become the Chief Minister the State is fast moving in the reverse direction,” Lokesh stated.

Observing that he launched the ‘Yuva Galam’ only to stand by the youth which are fighting for their future, Lokesh felt that this is a very good opportunity for the youth to send Jagan home. Maintaining that Jagan is taking shelter at the Tadepalle Palace, the TDP general secretary said that the Chief Minister of a State should always be among the people.

What happened to the Special Category Status for the State which Jagan promised before coming to power, he asked and pointed out that the youth lost employment opportunities after Jagan assumed charge as the Chief Minister. “Except for falling at the feet of the elders in Delhi, Jagan is not raising the State issues with the Centre,” he noted.

The Chief MInister who promised three lakh jobs to the youth every year through job calendar is now issuing job-less calendar, he said and pointed out that the vacancies in police department and the posts of teachers are not being filled. Why Jagan, who was totally in support of a single capital before coming to power, is now raising the three-capital slogan, Lokesh asked.

Maintaining that TDP president, Chandrababu Naidu, is a brand for providing jobs and employment opportunities, he said that Jagan is a brand in chasing companies out of the State. “Decentralisation means providing employment opportunities to the youth as per the population ratio in different regions of the State but not raising slogans like three-capitals which is not possible,” Lokesh remarked.

TDP activists gather at Kuppam to express solidarity with Lokesh for pada yatra

1

Telugu Desam Party activists across the State gathered at Kuppam to express solidarity with the pada yatra being undertaken by party general secretary, Nara Lokesh, from Friday.

With ‘Yuva Galam’, the pada yatra Lokesh aims at bringing awareness among the people on putting an end to the atrocious rule of Chief Minister, Jagan Mohan Reddy, in the State. It is a festive atmosphere at Kuppam as thousands of party activists gathered in support of Lokesh.

Kuppam turned yellowish as TDP flags, baloons and banners appear at every corner while all the hotels and lodges are filled with party functionaries. They offered special poojas to Lord Varadaraja Swamy.

Wide arrangements are made in an extent of over 10 acres near HP petrol pump in Kuppam from where Lokesh will address a public meeting before taking off on his pada yatra.

Lokesh who had the darshan of Lord Venkateswara at Tirumala reached Kuppam late but all along his way the TDP functionaries gave a tumultuous welcome to him. Party senior leaders and others welcomed Lokesh at R and B Guest House.

Kuppam voters who elected TDP president, Nara Chandrababu Naidu, for seven successive terms to the Assembly are ready to extend wholehearted support to Lokesh now.

The 4000-km-long ‘Yuva Galam’ pada yatra is going to create a history in the State and will be a milestone for the TDP.

Lokesh pays tributes to NTR ahead of 4,000 km-long padyatra

0

Telugu Desam Party (TDP) general secretary Nara Lokesh left for Andhra Pradesh on Wednesday to launch his 4,000 km-long padyatra after paying tributes to party founder and grandfather N.T. Rama Rao in Hyderabad.

Lokesh took blessings of his father and TDP national president N. Chandrababu Naidu, mother N. Bhuvaneswari and maternal uncle and father-in-law N. Balakrishna at his residence in Jubilee Hills here.

The TDP leader then left for NTR Ghat in a rally. He offered floral tributes at NTR Ghat on the banks of Hussain Sagar lake in the city.

Lokesh later left for Kadapa district, where he will offer prayers at Ameen Peer dargah. He will then leave for Tirupati to offer prayers at Tirumala temple on Thursday before proceeding to Kuppam in Chittoor district to launch the padyatra on January 27.

Titled ‘Yuvagalam’ (youth’s voice), the padyatra will cover 120 Assembly constituencies over the next 400 days across the state.

Chittoor district police on Tuesday granted permission for the padayatra with certain conditions.

Lokesh, son of TDP national president N. Chandrababu Naidu, is scheduled to launch a 4,000 km long padayatra from Kuppam in Chittoor district on January 27.

District Superintendent of Police Y. Rishanth Reddy granted conditional permission for the march.

The permission came after days of uncertainty in view of the ban imposed early this month on conduct of meetings on roads.

The SP directed the organisers to abide by the timings fixed for the public meetings. He made it clear that the meetings should not be held on roads.

The organisers have been asked to ensure that the public and private property are not damaged. The police prohibited use of firecrackers during padyatra. TDP workers and participants have been directed not to carry any weapons. The SP directed the organisers to arrange first aid and ambulance at the venue of the meeting to attend to any health emergency.

TDP’s Andhra Pradesh unit president K. Atchannaidu has said that the conditions imposed for Lokesh’s padyatra reflect Jagan Mohan Reddy-led government’s sense of insecurity. He stated that the TDP leader’s padyatra will be a death knell for YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) rule.

He alleged that the government is trying to create hurdles for the padyatra.

Finally, Lokesh gets police clearance for Padayatra

0

TDP general secretary and former minister Nara Lokesh secured the police clearance for his proposed padayatra, starting at Kuppam in Chittoor district, on January 27. Lokesh would be on his marathon walk for 400 days covering 4,000 kilometres. He would end his marathon walk at Itchapuram in Srikakulam district.

The team that had been working on his padayatra had been communicating with the police for permission, particularly in the light of the State government issuing GO 1 restricting the public meetings and rallies on the roads.

TDP general secretary and politburo member Varla Ramaiah wrote a couple of letters to the DGP seeking permission. The police have asked the TDP leaders to give the details of the padayatra, including the number of vehicles, their registration numbers, and people who would be following Lokesh in the padayatra.

Though the police also sought the details of those who would be meeting Lokesh during the padayatra, it was finally dropped as the TDP raised objections. What is interesting is that the TDP would have to seek permission from every district police as the padayatra enters.

It was only the Chittoor district police that have given permission for the padayatra so far. There was no uniform decision by the state police and the DGP is said to have decided to leave the permission issue to the respective district SPs.

As a case is also pending in the High Court on the GO, the TDP too is not insisting upon state-wide permission instead of knocking at the door of the district SPs.

DGP’s queries on padayatra by Lokesh unwanted, says TDP

0

Andhra Pradesh’s opposition Telugu Desam Party (TDP) on Sunday reacted strongly to Director General of Police (DGP) K.V. Rajendranath Reddy seeking details of party leader Nara Lokesh’s padayatra.

TDP politburo member, Varla Ramaiah said that the DGP has raised several unwanted and undesirable queries on padayatra by the party general secretary.

Lokesh, son of TDP president N. Chandrababu Naidu, proposed to launch a 4,000 km long padayatra from Kuppam on January 27.

Though Varla Ramaiah has written to the DGP seeking permission for the foot march, the police have still not accorded the permission. The DGP on Saturday wrote a letter to Ramaiah seeking a route map, details of people and vehicles in the yatra.

Strongly responding to the DGP’s missive, Varla Ramaiah has made it clear that this is not for the first time in the history of the nation that a leader is undertaking a padayatra. “The former prime minister, Mr Chandra Sekhar, the former chief ministers of the State, the Late NTR and the Late YS Rajasekhara Reddy, the former chief minister, Mr Nara Chandrababu Naidu, and those who fought for Independence like the Mahatma Gandhi also went on padayatra,” he pointed out.

Varla Ramaiah also mentioned in his letter the recent Bharat Jodo yatra by the AICC leader, Rahul Gandhi and the padayatra by Sharmila, the sister of Chief Minister, Jagan Mohan Reddy.

The TDP leader requested the DGP to take measures to provide proper security for the ‘Yuva Galam’, to be undertaken by Nara Lokesh, from January 27.

The TDP politburo member said that Lokesh, through his padayatra, intends to bring awareness among the public on various issues plaguing the state like lack of employment opportunities, poor welfare and development in the state.

Stating that the Yuva Galam is tentatively planned to begin on January 27 from Kuppam to Itchapuram covering around 125 Assembly segments spread over 4000 km, Varla Ramaiah said that the detailed schedule of the padayatra will be provided to the local sub-divisional police officers (SDPOs) ahead of the schedule to enable the local police to provide necessary security arrangements.

“In a democracy, it is quite natural that the political parties meet the public through various means to move closer to the people to address their grievances and the padayatra is only one such mechanism. The number of people taking part in the padayatra depends on the local issues and it is the duty of the local police to estimate and assess as to how many people will be taking part in the programme,” Varla Ramaiah said in his letter.

He also made it clear in his letter that the detailed schedule, including the night halts will be intimated to the local police and stated that some vehicles like prachara ratham, two sound vehicles, four vehicles in Lokesh convoy and a media van will form part of the vehicles accompanying him.

AP can move forward only if TDP comes back to power, says Lokesh

1

TDP general secretary, Nara Lokesh, on Friday felt that the only alternative for the State to move on the progressive path is that the TDP should come back to power.

Addressing party politburo members, the senior leaders, MPs and others through a video conference on the eve of his launching his pada yatra ‘Yuva Galam’ on January 27, Lokesh said that the people of the State are suffering in this psycho rule.

“We have been struggling with this psycho for the past three-and-half years which we have never witnessed earlier,” Lokesh said. Maintaining that remaining in power or sitting in the Opposition is nothing new to the TDP, he felt that the State is now passing through a strange situation.

The TDP leaders and activists are being subjected to various kinds of harassment and false cases are being registered against them, Lokesh said and appreciated the party leaders and activists for continuously waging a war against this psycho rule.

“The strength of the TDP is always its activists and its leaders and we are ready to even sacrifice our lives for the sake of the party flag,” Lokesh said. Had the TDP, while in power, acted in such a manner like how Chief Minister, Jagan Mohan Reddy, is acting now the YSRCP would not have been in existence now, he remarked.

Observing that Jagan is misusing his power only to take revenge, Lokesh said that not even a single section is happy with YSRCP. “Women, farmers, youth, employees and even police officials are strongly opposing the YSRCP rule,” he stated.

Lokesh maintained that the mafia, be it liquor, sand or mining, is ruling the roost and the prices of even essential commodities are skyrocketing during this YSRCP regime. “What is surprising is that the Chief Minister is not even allowing us to supply food to the poor,” he said.
