Dynamic filmmaker SS Rajamouli need not have a special introduction in Indian cinema. Made on a massive budget, the film features Prabhas, Anushka, Rana and Tamannaah in the lead roles. Arka Media works produced the film and Baahubali: The Conclusion completed all the censor formalities last night.

Given the craze and reach of the upcoming magnum opus “Baahubali: The Conclusion”, several local as well as international brands across categories are tying up with the film. Although the movie has universal appeal, the marketing efforts by brands have somehow been restricted to south India only.

For ex. Britannia Milk Bikis, which has associated with the movie for the first time this year, has focused marketing for Milk Bikis in South Indian states. For on-ground activities, the FMCG company is primarily aiming at major cities in the Telugu states – Hyderabad, Visakhapatnam and Vijayawada. The company is creating TVCs featuring Prabhas and will also conduct contests on social media in its bid to effectively leverage its association with ‘Baahubali’.

McDonalds, the global fast food chain, which also is associating with Baahubali franchise for the first time, has launched new items in its menu – Maharaja Mac Meal and Maharaja Mac Junior. The on-ground activities for McDonalds will be focused on Hyderabad. The south India focus is prominent in the marketing strategies of both Britannia and McDonalds. These brands are reportedly investing significant budgets to promote their association with Baahubali.

Several other brands and organizations such as Nestle Munch, Stratfit, Fueladream etc. have also partnered with the magnum opus which is set to release worldwide on April 28.

After spending nearly five years and playing a once-in-a-life time character in Baahubali franchise, actor Prabhas is finally shifting his attention towards future projects. He has already commenced shooting for Sujith’s flick which went on floors recently.

With the much awaited release of Baahubali 2 round the corner, Prabhas is busy promoting the film all over India.

Yesterday, he kick-started the Telugu promotions in Hyderabad. During his interaction, Prabhas said sorry to his fans for making them wait long for Baahubali. He vowed to release two films every year from now onwards. He is confident that Baahubali 2 will be a much bigger treat for audience than the first part.

The first look teaser of Sujith’s film will be attached with Baahubali 2. The film is titled as Saaho and is being made with a lavish budget.

“Baahubali” stars Prabhas and Rana Daggubati visited Chandigarh University to celebrate the festival of Baisakhi on Friday.

During the college visit, Prabhas and Rana engaged in some Baisakhi special activities along with the students. They got into some fun game of fist fight as well.

Prabhas said in a statement: “Celebrating the festival of Baisakhi in Chandigarh has been a joyous experience for us. It was interesting to interact with young minds at the university and soak in the vibe of the festival in the city.”

It is the first city visit of the team for the promotion of their forthcoming film “Baahubali 2: The Conclusion“.

Produced by ARKA entertainment and directed by S.S. Rajamouli, the movie also stars Tamannaah Bhatia, Anushka Shetty and Sathyaraj.

Baahubali broke the language barrier to become a pan-Indian hit in 2015 but director S S Rajamouli says he was not as sure-footed about the first part as he is for the upcoming sequel Baahubali: The Conclusion. The first movie ended on a cliffhanger, leaving the audience with the question- ‘Why did Katappa kill Baahubali?’, which became a catch-phrase and sustained interested in the sequel.

“We were a little nervous during the first part but for this one we are quite confident because there has been a big fan-base which has been following it since the past two years. During this time, none of them lost interest in the film and it kept on going,” Rajamouli says. “Everyone wants to know the answer to the question,

‘WKKP’ (Why Did Katappa Kill Baahubali). We are quite upbeat about it,” he told reporters here last evening.

The two-part epic-fantasy stars Prabhas, Rana Daggubati, Tamannaah and Anushka Shetty in lead roles. Rajamouli says it was wonderful of South Indian star Prabhas to dedicate himself fully for years to Baahubali despite being a top hero of the industry. “The whole film ‘Baahubali’ was possible because of this man (Prabhas) who being a top hero in south gave three and a half years for the film. I don’t think we could’ve done it (the film) without him,” he says.

The filmmaker, however, says the franchise is so huge that no person, including himself, can be bigger than the project. “I think whether the director or producer or any other professional involved in it, we are all being carried on a big ship called Baahubali,” he says.

“‘Baahubali’ is such a big thing, we being the people who worked on it, are getting the attention. I don’t think I am a bigger person than the project,” Rajamouli says. He was speaking at the IMAX poster launch of Baahubali: The Conclusion, which is scheduled to release on April 28.

Tamannaah to play deaf, mute in new film

Actress Tamannaah Bhatia, who is all geared up for the release of her upcoming magnum-opus “Baahubali 2”, reveled that her next is with Vashu Bhagnani where she plays a deaf and dumb’s character.

“‘Baahubali’ helped me to realise that people want me to do different characters like now I have shot for a film in which I play a deaf and mute girl, gone completely sans make-up. It is a Hindi film produced by Vashu Bhagnani sir,” Tamannaah said during an interview on Thursday.

“I am also collaborating with Prabhu (Prabhudeva) sir again, but in a completely different framework. So, it would be very interesting for audience, who have seen us before, to watch us in completely different characters and framework,” added Tamannaah who was last seen with Prabhudeva and Sonu Sood in “Tutak Tutak Tutiya”.

Talking about the success of “Baahubali”, Tamannaah proudly said: “We have always looked upon Hollywood superheroes like Super-Man and Spider-man but ‘Baahubali’ is our own Indian Superhero and the connection people have made with this franchise is unprecedented.”

Asked about the re-release of the first part into theatres, she said: “It’s an honour for any actor to say that their movie is re-released after two years. I am happy that people are supporting the format of having the movie in two parts and that’s what makes it interesting. This will encourage other movie makers to make films in parts.”

While all other characters remain the same, Anushka Shetty will be seen in a new avatar in this movie. Asked about her experience of working with Anushka, Tamannaah said: “I have known her since the beginning of my career. She is the one who helped me in the beginning of my career. I wanted a costume designer and she helped me with it. She has actually enjoyed the five most peak years of her career in this film, which is a lot for a mainstream actress like her.”

What was the most interesting part in shooting the biggest blockbuster of Indian cinema? Tamannaah said: “I did a fullfledged action in a movie for the first time in my career. I had a lot of fear of height but ‘Baahubali’ has helped me overcome it.”

“Baahubali 2 – The Conclusion” that will finally answer the most awaited answer as to Why Kattapa Killed Baahubali will hit the screens on April 28.

The film is directed by S.S. Rajmouli with Prabhas, Rana Daggubati, Anushka Shetty, Tamannaah, Ramya Krishnan, Nassar and Satyaraj in pivotal roles.

Filmmaker S.S. Rajamouli says a magnum opus like the two-part “Baahubali” could be possible thanks to an actor like Prabhas, who has dedicated so much time to the project.

Rajamouli was at an event here for the IMAX poster launch of “Baahubali 2: The Conclusion” on Wednesday.

Praising Prabhas, Rajamouli said: “The whole film ‘Baahubali’ was possible because of Prabhas, who being a lead actor in the south film industry, believed in this project and gave three and half years of his life to the film. I don’t think anybody can get so much involved in the project with that kind of passion, time and commitment.”

“I think whether director or producer or any other professional involved in it, we are all being carried on a big ship called ‘Baahubali’. ‘Baahubali’ is the ultimate product and we are the people who worked on it, so I don’t think I am a bigger person than the project,” added Rajamouli when asked about how a filmmaker often gets less attention compared to his film.

Speaking about the IMAX experience, he said: “It was 15 years ago when I first saw a film in IMAX format. In our childhood, we used to see film on 70mm screens and then suddenly we got this larger than life experience in IMAX, through which we literally felt like being in that space and time itself.

“So the first image I saw, and I decided to make my films in IMAX format. And today, when the dream has got fulfilled, it’s a quality moment for me.”

“Baahubali 2” has been digitally remastered in the IMAX format.

Its story lent itself to the format, Rajamouli said, adding: “People need to see it on bigger screens with wider sound to experience what we intended to see.”

“We have big theatres now but we still need more number of theatres to take the audience there. It’s a business model now to release the film in maximum number of theatres to get maximum viewership. And for a film like ‘Baahubali’, where people are anticipating so much about the movie that trailer of the film has crossed 100 million views is on par with any Hollywood film.

“So, it makes all sense to release the film at maximum number of theatres.”

The movie also features Rana Daggubati, Anushka Shetty, Ramya Krishnan in pivotal roles.

Release Hurdles for Baahubali: The Conclusion in Tamil Nadu

SS Rajamouli’s magnum opus Baahubali: The Conclusion is all set for a massive release across the globe and the film’s craze has been unbeatable. The makers have been promoting the film across the country and the film’s theatrical rights have been sold out for record prices. A film distributor based in Tamil Nadu approached Madras High Court as MS Sharavanan of Sri Green Productions left him unpaid. ACE Media approached Madras High Court as Sri Green Productions is yet to clear the debts of Rs 1.18 crores.

The dues have been promised to be paid before the release of Baahubali: The Conclusion but Sri Green Productions alleged that they have been making huge sum by selling the film to third parties ignoring them. ACE Media produced all the copies of the agreement before Madras High Court and the case is expected to be presented for hearing today. Arka Media Works is in talks with Sri Green Productions to solve the issue at the earliest informed sources.

The much awaited day is here. The trailer of Baahubali2, which is the follow-up to SS Rajamouli’s gung-ho and box office shattering epic fantasy Baahubali, is going to be unveiled today. Telugu360 got an exclusive glimpse into the 2 Minute 20 trailer and here is how it goes.

The trailer is majestically cut that will leave the viewers with an awe feeling. The trailer starts off with a rewind of what happened in the first part. Then , we are introduced to the mighty Mahendra Baahubali. Just like the first part, Rajamouli seems to have infused big hearted romance and rip roaring action episodes in the follow up,too. Also, the trailer promises that the film will have strong emotional content. Once again, the gargantuan statues of the medieval masonry will capture the attention of the audience straight away. A glimpse of a gaint elephant statue is showcased in this trailer.

What is more striking about the trailer is the sheer scale visual extravaganza and the swirling war episodes that are on par with Hollywood standards. The combination of VFX and CG effects coupled with the thumping background score given by Keeravani elevate the trailer to a notch higher.

    Young director gets a big boost from Prabhas

    Young filmmaker Radha Krishna, who shot to fame with Gopichand’s stylish actioner Jil, is yet to wield the megaphone for his next. He has been working seriously on the script from the past couple of months. Earlier it was heard that he will work with Ram Charan for a romantic entertainer, but the project didn’t materialize due to unknown reasons.

    In a big boost to Radha Krishna, Prabhas has reportedly gave a go ahead signal to the director after he narrated a script recently. It is learnt that Young director gets a big boost from Prabhas. Close sources to Radha Krishna revealed that he is currently working on full draft and will meet Prabhas for the final round of script narration.

    If everything goes as per plans, Prabhas will work with Radha Krishna after completing Baahubali 2 and Sujith’s untitled project. Successful production house UV Creations, who introduced Radha Krishna as director, will bankroll the film.

    Baahubali – 2 ( The Conclusion ) is ready to take off. After a long break, thanks to pre-release publicity and post release promotions Team Baahubali is all set to stsrt work on the remained of Baahubali-2 shoot.

    30% of the talkie part for Baahubali-2 was completed simultaneously with Baahubali-1. Now the remainder of the film needs to be shot. Scripting work and pre-production for the remainder of the film started today with Madan Karky joining Rajamouli and team. Shooting of the film is likely to start in October end or November. Baahubali – 2 is being planned for early 2017 release. Prabhas and Rana are back to working on their physique. Anushka will be seen in a radically different avatar in this part when compared to part 1.

    “Baahubali: The Beginning”, India’s biggest motion picture, will be screened in the Open Cinema category of the 20th Busan International Film Festival, to be held this year in Busan, South Korea from Oct. 1 to Oct. 10.

    “Baahubali: The Beginning”, the first of a 2-part epic drama, was directed by S. S. Rajamouli and produced by Shobu Yarlagadda and Prasad Devineni of Arka Mediaworks. Released on July 10th 2015, Baahubali: The Beginning” has shattered numerous records and today it is the highest domestic grosser in the history of Indian Cinema.

    The ‘International Cut’ of “Baahubali – The Beginning” has been completed by editor Vincent Tabaillon of “Taken 2”,” Incredible Hulk” and “Transporter 2” fame and will be screened at BIFF. Busan International Film Festival, founded in 1996, is one of the most prestigious film festivals in Asia. Showcasing new innovative cinema and supporting new talent has been the focus of this event since the beginning. Busan IFF 2015 will feature a total of 304 films from 75 countries – of which, 121 will be World and International premieres.

    Sylvia Chang, respected actress and director from Taiwan, will be this year’s head juror, along with other well known personalities such as Anurag Kashyap, Kim Tae-yong, etc.

    Open Cinema Section of BIFF strives to feature works of wide popularity and success. A few other films that are to be screened within this category include the Chinese box-office hit “Monster Hunt”, Miyazaki Hayao’s classic animation “My Neighbor Totoro” and a Taiwanese youth melodrama “Our Times”. Baahubali: The Beginning” is scheduled for indoor screenings on Oct. 4 and Oct 7, and an outdoor screening on Oct. 9.

    S. S. Rajamouli will be at the screening of “Baahubali: The Beginning” on Oct. 4, which will be followed by a special Q & A session with the Korean audience and media.

    Kalakeya’s Messenger Speaks About Bahubali

    Teja Kakumanu worked in some inconsequential movies before bagging a traitor’s role in Bahubali. He is the man who is instrumental in sending a message to Kalakeyas to invade the Mahishmathi kingdom. An M.Phil and a Master of performing arts from Central University, he won a Nandi for his work in theatre too. Talking of his beginnings from a humble place from Tullur Mandal in Guntur, Teja quips, “There is no bus to reach Ambrajapuram, where I stay in Guntur. It is very remote. My brother is a chartered accountant and my father is an agriculturist. When I grew my hair two years back, people at my home place kept taunting and my father found it difficult to answer questions. When everyone were doing good jobs I was still struggling to find roles in movies.”

     

    Teja says he was called for an audition but for one month there was no phone call from the direction department, he had almost given up as rest of the selected candidates were already into training. When they called him he was asked to send a video of him riding a horse and Teja feared he would be included as one amongst the army and get faded. But to his surprise he was given a meaningful and an important role. “First day first shot was with me in Kurnool at Uruvakonda. The shoot went on for three days there. My role was narrated  only on the day of the shoot and I was told that I would be playing the role of a betrayer, that I would be scared of the brothers and if caught by them I would be killed. Since they will kill me, my only option would be to jump to death. I learnt the strange language well, Kilikili language was written by Madan, son of Tamil writer Vairmuthu’s son. It was a variety script and I couldn’t understand initially. I took up the role when I was 26, now I am 28,” he laughs.

     

    “There were some shots but they got chopped probably because of the length.  I am shown as a wicked and a cruel, jealous minister when the brothers test of strength takes place.  Since I am tempted by Kalakeyas for wealth I help them. The first day was the rope shot and there were no body doubles. We did single shots first, it shot by two cameras. First they showed me jumping and then Prabhas Anna jumped. It was so hot, ropes nalgipoyi chala ibbandhi paddam. It was so exciting, getting a chance in the film is something I waited for, why would I think of a risk, aakali tho unna to make it. Once the fighters did something wrong and the wire was loosened, I almost hit my head on the rock as I went in a reverse direction. Prabhas said jagrattha ga undu darling. My father is a happy man now as everyone is calling him and saying that I did a good job.”
