Ravi Teja compensating for Losses is a Fake News

Ravi Teja is in a mad rush and he is working without breaks to complete his bunch of committed projects. Krack is the only hit delivered by the actor and the producers of all his other films suffered huge losses. Ravi Teja’s non-theatrical market has been stable because of which he is rushed with several offers. But after he hiked his fee, the producers of his films are losing big amounts if the films are not faring well in theatres. Ramarao On Duty carried low buzz and the producer had to release the film on his own on advance basis.

With the film ending up as a disaster, the producer has to repay the advances. There are speculations that Ravi Teja will compensate for the losses for Sudhakar Cherukuri of SLV Cinemas but this is untrue. Ravi Teja will not return back his remuneration for the film. He instead asked Sudhakar Cherukuri to do one more film and Ravi Teja will charge the same remuneration for the film too. The producer is in talks with a couple of directors and Munna of 30 Rojullo Preminchatam Ela is likely to direct the project. The shoot commences soon after Ravi Teja is done with the shoots of Ravanasura and Tiger Nageswara Rao.

The producers of Ravi Teja’s films should be extra cautious as the actor is quite keen and bothered about his paycheque than on the script.

Heartbroken Ravi Teja fans have been berating director Sarath Mandava on social media from the ‘Ramarao On Duty’s first day of screening and flinging nasty insults at him.

The tension is so high that the young filmmaker, who had previously shown unwavering confidence in all promotional interviews conducted before the movie’s premiere, has suddenly locked (gone on private mode) his Twitter account in an effort to protect himself from the constant trolling.

Fans of Ravi Teja had high expectations for his recently released mass action comedy, ‘Ramarao on Duty’, after ‘Khiladi’s catastrophic failure. After the film’s director, Sarath Mandava, made a few shocking remarks about the media and critics during the promotions, the anticipation and expectations skyrocketed. But, the movie’s result proved otherwise, making the director vulnerable to all the hatred from Ravi Teja’s fans.

Some of Ravi Teja’s fans, even went further and wrote an open letter to him, in which they had addressed their disappointment. “You simply go on signing movies, without even learning from the mistakes of the previous flops. Being your fan is hurting us like never before”, a Ravi Teja-fan’ letter reads.

‘Ramarao On Duty’ held out a lot of promise but turned out to be one of Ravi Teja’s biggest disasters. While the first-time director picked an intriguing backdrop, he completely let down the viewers with a drab plot and predictable storytelling.

He asked the audience not to believe in twitter reviews and find the genuine talk after the morning shows from theatres before watching Ramarao On Duty. The film released yesterday and the response has been quite poor. Everyone including the critics and the audience blamed Sarath Mandava for his lackluster attempt. Though the plot was interesting, it was the treatment that made Ramarao On Duty fall flat.

Sarath Mandava directed Ramarao On Duty film and Ravi Teja essays the role of an honest government servant. A series of missing cases will get reported after which he steps out to fight to unfold the truth. Divyansha Kaushik and Rajisha Vijayan are the leading ladies and they will have limited roles tells the trailer. Ramarao On Duty also has a series of prominent actors and the film has various threads related to the story. Venu is making his comeback and he plays a cop.  Sudhakar Cherukuri is the producer and he spent lavishly on the film. Ramarao On Duty is inspired by a real-life incident that took place in 1995.

Story:
Ramarao story is set in 1995 Chittoor district. It’s a backstory of an honest sub collector who fights against the red sandalwood mafia. This film contains few factual incidents embedded into the cinematic script.

Analysis:
‘Ramarao On Duty’ title sounds like an out and out masala film but the theme is a serious one. The director tries to fill the first half with few family scenes. Ramarao gets married another girl than his original love. He also tries to find out details of 20 youth miss from the village. In this process he confronts with the local police officer Jammi Murali ( Tottempudi Venu) and his SP. All the leads point to the sandalwood mafia which has been managed by a person named Viraz. Second half deals with how Ramarao takes on the culprits.

First half of the film is more of conversational and passive. Audience might take a while to sync with the slow paced, award film approach in first half – which is unusual of Raviteja films. Investigative films succeed more if director is able to engage the audience with the core murder plot. In this case, instead of engaging audience script confuses them. The songs are shot on high budget and often on foreign locations. However, the songs doesn’t go well with the rustic rural theme of the film especially set in 1995 . At times the script gives honest impression but struggles to fit a mass star.

Raviteja has been maintaining good physique but his characterization in this film is not his eccentric league. Naresh, Pavitra Lokesh, Tanikella Bharani, Nasser, Rahul Ramakrishna and other seasoned artists are wasted. The two heroines are miscast

Verdict:

On Wednesday, the creators of Ravi Teja’s upcoming film ‘Ramarao On Duty’ turned to social media to reveal the character poster, revealing senior actor Venu Thottempudi as ‘CI Murali.’

The ‘Chirunavvutho’ actor returns to the big screen after a lengthy absence with this action thriller starring Ravi Teja as the hero. The first look poster of Venu Thottempudi features him in a simple, cop avatar.

Two new release dates announced for Ramarao On Duty

The actor is almost done with the shoot of his next film Ramarao On Duty. The makers today announced that the film will hit the screens on March 25th or April 15th. Sarat Mandava is the director and Divyansha Kaushik, Rajisha Vijayan are the leading ladies in Ramarao On Duty.

“We love our film. At the same time, we have immense respect on other films. We slated Ramarao On Duty for release on 25th March 2022 but due to latest developments, we intend to release our film either on 25th March 2022 or 15th April 2022” told the official statement from the makers. Sudhakar Cherukuri’s SLV Cinemas are the producers and Sam CS is the music director. Ravi Teja is also shooting for Dhamaka and Narakasura which will release later this year.

New Release Chart loading in Tollywood

The third wave of coronavirus pandemic is all over but the Telugu audience are not scared to watch the films in theatres. Due to the low hospitalization and the death rate, the third wave of the pandemic may not have a strong impact on Indian film industry. But the restrictions on theatres in several states have to be lifted for the pan-Indian movies to hit the screens. A heap of Tollywood films are planned for release from February till May and every week is jam-packed with a prominent release. The chart is now disrupted because of the third wave. Acharya is pushed to April 1st and RRR may release on March 18th or April 28th. Because of these changes, the entire chart of releases in Telugu cinema will be shuffled.

The filmmakers of Tollywood are in plans to announce the new release dates by the end of January or during the first week of February after the wave of pandemic calms down.
