Sujana Chowdary says BJP will go with Jana Sena in AP

1

BJP senior leader and former Union minister Y S Chowdary, popularly known as Sujana Chowdary, said that the BJP and the Jana Sena alliance would continue in the next general elections in Andhra Pradesh.

Interacting with the media persons in Vijayawada on Thursday, Sujana Chowdary said that the BJP and the Jana Sena have a healthy alliance and the two parties would go together in the election. However, he did not say anything about the possible alliance with the TDP.

He further said that Jana Sena chief Pawan Kalyan is in contact with the BJP top leaders. He also recalled that Pawan Kalyan had met several national leaders of the BJP in Delhi in the recent past. The relationship between the two parties is strong enough to win the elections, Sujana Chowdary asserted.

The BJP leader blamed the state government for not utilising the funds given by the Narendra Modi government at the Centre. He said that the BJP-led government had fulfilled all the promises that were made at the time of bifurcation. Several institutions were given to the state and the road network was strengthened and improved, he said.

Sujana Chowdary also said that the Central government had given funds for development of new capital for the residuary state. However, this government had failed to utilise those funds and have a new capital. He found fault with the government for not developing Amaravati as the capital city.

He further said that the government had failed to develop the state. The state had gone back several years in the last four years of misrule, he added. He appealed to the people to send this incapable government out of power in the next elections.

High Court rejects Sujana plea for cancelling look out notice

1

BJP MP Sujana Chowdary has been under a look out notice relating to a bank fraud case. Following this, he was stopped at Delhi airport and not allowed to board the flight to go to the US. As a result, the MP had to cancel his tour plans and had to stay back. Immediately, he approached the Telangana High Court.
After hearing the arguments, the court has granted a two-week relief to the BJP MP to go abroad. Sujana is again making his plans to visit New York. Sujana Chowdary’s advocate told the court that the immigration officials illegally prevented him from going to the US.
Actually, the BJP MP petitioned the court for cancelling the look out notices against him. However, the court did not consider his plea but it has given relief.
Sujana Chowdary has been facing charges of defaulting payment of over Rs. 400 Cr to the Bank of India. The bank has also moved to auction property of the MP. It has already seized some luxury cars belonging to him. It may be recalled that the CBI has raided Sujana’s offices in the past.

Sujana Chowdary conspicuous by his absence at BJP function

2

Today, Somu Veerraju took charge as party president of Andhra Pradesh. The meeting was attended by BJP strategist Ram Madhav, Kanna Laxmi Narayana, former president of AP BJP, former Union minister Purandhareswari, etc. But one person who was conspicuous by his absence at the event was another former Union minister Sujana Chowdary. This led to debate in political circles. Details as below.

Recently, there have been rumours that Sujana Chowdary comments regarding Amravati did not go well not only with Somu Veerraju but also with some big wigs of the party. It is known news that Somu Veerraju expressed different opinion than Sujana Chowdary later and the party endorsed the stand of Somu Veerraju. All this led to rumours whether Sujana Chowdary is sidelined by the party. On another note, recently Somu Veerraju has been taking firm anti- TDP stand and at this moment it is not clear whether this has any relation to absence of Sujana Chowdary to the party event.

We will have to wait and see if Sujana Chowdary comments on this and explains his absence.

Meeting not secret, Ramesh Kumar no criminal: Sujana

0

As YSCP leaders cried foul over what they called a secret meeting between Nimmagadda Ramesh Kumar and BJP leaders, Rajya Sabha MP Sujana Chowdary clarified that there was nothing secret about their meeting.

Sujana Chowdary stated that there was nothing wrong in meeting Ramesh Kumar. “It was a casual meeting. I have been staying in Park Hyatt for some days. I keep meeting political leaders and businessmen. I don’t know why YSRCP leaders are making a hue and cry over the CCTV footage. Ramesh Kumar is not a criminal. Being close friends, we can meet whenever we want and wherever we want. There is no rule that bars us from meeting each other. I don’t need to meet anyone secretly to conduct. Meeting people is part of my daily routine and business.”

Earlier, Sujana Chowdhary strongly opposed the removal of Ramesh Kumar as SEC and hailed the Andhra Pradesh High Court’s directive to the Andhra Pradesh government to reinstate Ramesh Kumar.

“Jagan had brought shame to the AP government and dragged the prestige of the state to the streets. Where was the necessity to bring an amendment through the back-door (in the form of an ordinance) to change the term and eligibility of the SEC? The Jagan government received a massive mandate of 151 seats in the Assembly. The strong mandate was not given to disregard the constitutional framework and democratic norms. It is high time Jagan realised that his government should work within the constitutional framework and that his government cannot stretch beyond its limitations and should uphold the dignity of judiciary. He should come out of his monarch mindset and focus on the welfare of the state. At least now, he should put politics aside and seriously work towards putting the wheels of the economy on the right path,” Sujana Chowdary had advised.

In an act of political vendetta, Ramesh Kumar was removed as SEC after he put off civic body polls citing Coronavirus. The Andhra Pradesh government promulgated an ordinance which had cut short the tenure of SEC to three years from five years and in a tearing hurry appointed former Tamil Nadu judge Kangaraju as SEC.

The move was challenged in the AP High Court which had reinstated Ramesh Kumar as SEC. On it’s part, the Jagan government had filed a Special Leave Petition in the Supreme Court which had observed that the government cannot play with constitutional functionaries while turning down the plea to stay HC order reinstating Ramesh Kumar. Currently, the case is pending in the SC.

Earlier in the day, TDP politburo member Varla Ramaiah on Tuesday stated that there was nothing wrong if Ramesh Kumar met BJP RS member Sujana Chowdary and former minister Kamineni Srinivas at Park Hyatt in Hyderabad. “Is Sujana Chowdhary or Kamineni Srinivas anti-social elements. Are they terrorists? What is wrong if Ramesh Kumar met the two leaders,” Ramaiah questioned.

Further, he noted that Ramesh Kumar could have met the senior BJP leaders to apprise the current situation in Andhra Pradesh to their central leadership with the Jagan government repeatedly undermining the court verdicts and constitutional bodies. “How did Sakshi TV, the mouthpiece of Jagan’s YSRCP, get hold of the CCTV footage? How did the CCTV footage from Park Hyatt leak? Obviously, it is a selective leak which is a breach of privacy. Further, there are no cases against the three people in question who had a private meeting in Park Hyatt. They are not terrorists. They are not accused, no criminal cases are pending against them. So, what is wrong if they meet,” Ramaiah questioned the YSRCP leaders.

CCTV footage shows Ramesh Kumar meeting with Sujana Chowdary

Nimagadda Ramesh Kumar, who was removed as SEC by the Jagan government, has landed himself in a fresh controversy.

A secret meeting with two BJP leaders in a 5-star hotel in Hyderabad’s posh Banjara Hills has triggered a political row.

Ramesh Kumar in a clandestine meeting had met BJP MP Sujana Chowdary and former minister Kamineni Srinivas at Park Hyatt in Hyderabad giving much needed ammo to the YSRCP government to attack the former.

CCTV Footage showed Nimmagadda Ramesh Kumar, Sujana Chowdary and Kamineni Srinivas walking into Park Hyatt separately. They then walked into a room in the hotel where they hustled for more than one hour. After the one hour meeting, the CCTV footage showed all the three walking out of the room separately.

The meeting raised questions on whether a constitutional functionary can meet political leaders, especially when Ramesh Kumar’s case is pending in the Supreme Court.

Ramesh Kumar was removed as SEC after he put off civic body polls citing Corona virus.

After the HC verdict reinstating Ramesh Kumar, Rajya Sabha MP Sujana Chowdhury said Jagan had brought shame to the AP government and dragged its prestige to the streets. “Where was the necessity to bring an amendment through the back-door (in the form of an ordinance) to change the term and eligibility of the SEC? The Jagan government received a massive mandate of 151 seats in the Assembly, now this does not mean that the government will disregard the constitutional framework and democratic norms.

In this backdrop, Ramesh Kumar’s meeting with Sujana Choudhury and Kamineni Srinivas has kicked up a new controversy with YSRCP leaders calling Ramesh Kumar a political stooge of the TDP and the BJP.

Further, the hush-hush meeting also raised concerns over privacy issues. Who leaked the video footage of the three leaders meeting in Park Hyatt which sees high profile clientele including film stars. Such selective leaks of CCTV footage is a breach of individual privacy.

It remains to be seen how this controversial meeting of Ramesh Kumar with the BJP leaders will pan out in the days to come.

Centre will interfere with AP Capital shifting: Sujana

0

BJP MP Sujana Chowdary categorically clarified that the Central government will definitely interfere if the AP government takes Capital shifting decision. He made this statement in Delhi today as a clear counter to Jagan Reddy Circar’s move to pass a resolution in AP Assembly in two days against Amaravati Capital. Sujana clarified that the Centre has all the powers to interfere in AP Capital shifting as per the AP Reorganisation Act 2014. It was clearly mentioned in this Act that the AP government should decide location of Capital within 6 months of state separation. The Act also mentioned a recommendatory committee advice to be taken for Capital development.

The previous TDP government duly followed Reorganisation Act and developed Amaravati Capital. Sujana Chowdary said that it would not be possible for the present YCP government to make any radical changes in Capital location now. Such a decision to shift Capital out of Amaravati would invite serious legal problems. Sujana clarified that the Central educational institutions like National Institute of Fashion Technology and the All Indian Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) were developed with huge funds in Amaravati just because it is Capital City. Sujana clarified that the Government of India denotified nearly 20,000 acres of forest to facilitate Amaravati Capital. Thousands of crores worth Central projects are under way in AP Capital right now.

Sujana Chowdary writes 10-page letter to Jagan against AP capital shifting!

0

BJP Rajya Sabha member Sujana Chowdary has written a long 10-page open letter to AP Chief Minister YS Jaganmohan Reddy against his proposal to shift executive capital from Amaravati to Vizag.

He reminded Jagan that all political parties, including the YSRCP, had earlier unanimously agreed to have the state capital at Amaravati in 2014.

Sujana said that works worth over Rs 42 crore have been suspended by Jagan in Amaravati soon after he became CM without citing any reason.

Sujana stated that the contradictory statements being made by ministers that the government is searching for suitable buildings in Visakhapatnam and and also on the “Save Amaravathi” agitation in the capital development region by farmers were painful

He warned Jagan that the relocation of the state capital will have adverse impact both financially and legally.

He requested CM to reconsider the decision to relocate the state capital to elsewhere keeping in mind the larger interests of the state

Sujana questioned how can the government render 88 per cent of the lands for the fault of insider trading taking place in 12 per cent of the lands.

Sujana faulted the argument being put forth by Jagan that it will cost the government over Rs 1 lakh to build the state capital at Amaravati terming it as “far from truth”.

He reiterated that the three state capitals for AP was not feasible

Moreover, relocation of the state capital will make the government to pay hefty compensation of Rs 1,89,117 crore to various firms, contractors and individuals.

He advised Jagan to rise above petty politics and requested him to take decisions keeping in mind the benefit of the state and the people.

Sujana finally appealed Jagan to continue the state capital in Amaravati keeping in mind the larger interests of the state and AP people.

Sujana ultimate comment on AP DGP: Police Rajyam

0

BJP MP Sujana Chowdary talked very philosophically about the ongoing suppression of the anti-Capital shifting agitation. He said that their services as Members of Parliament would be a mere waste if they fail to stop the oppressive tactics of the Jagan Reddy government. What is the use of the AMP posts if they fail to save Amaravati Capital City at this stage? He expressed total confidence in Amaravati continuing as the Capital City of Andhra Pradesh forever. He took strong objection to the police high handed behaviour injuring women farmers. There are also reports that the Police are asking about the caste of agitators.

Sujana Chowdary said that if DGP Gautham Sawang behaves like a YCP activist, he would be facing action. How can the police officers violate the basic rights of the people? Sujana confirmed that Union Minister of State for Home Affairs Kishan Reddy spoke to AP DGP to enquire about the incidents in AP Capital agitation. The MP asserted that proper action would be taken at the right time to restrict the AP government on Capital issue. He also asked how the police can keep women agitators with them in their custody beyond 6 pm.

Meanwhile, the TDP leaders are alleging that the Police are also discriminating against one particular caste. The government and the police as a whole are diverting the people’s attention by branding Amaravati agitation as the problem of one single caste.

Vijayasai tries to drag President Kovind into Sujana controversy!

1

YSRCP MP Vijayasai Reddy is trying to create false hype by raking up the issue of President Ramnath Kovind referring the complaint against BJP MP Sujana Chowdhary to the union home ministry.

While the fact remains that it’s customary on the part of any President to refer the complaints to departments concerned, whatever he receives from anyone, Vijaysai Reddy is trying to give ‘build up’ as if President had referred the Sujana case to the union home minister for the first time only after he lodged complaint with him.

Sujana Chowdhary on Tuesday hits back at Vijayasai saying that there were no serious allegations or complaints by an individual or a person pending against him.

He said Vijayasai was only resorting to cheap gimmicks like lodging a complaint against him with the President of India’s office to tarnish his image.

Sujana Chowdhary said that Vijayasai Reddy, who was in Chanchalguda jail for 16 months, had written to letter to President’s office on September 16 levelling false charges against them.

The President’s Office in November had referred the issue to the Union Home Ministry as it was customary for it.

Sujana said that it was cheap gimmick resorted to by Vijayasai Reddy with the help of the acknowledgement issued by the office of the President of India. He said there is no significance to Vijayasai’s complaint as being claimed by him.

BJP MP owns 623 acres in Amaravati, says Andhra govt

0

A day after former Union minister and Bharatiya Janata Party MP Y.S. Chowdary denied owning land in Andhra Pradesh state capital Amaravati, the state government on Wednesday revealed that he is in possession of over 623 acres of land.

The YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) government released a statement giving details of Chowdary’s land holdings.

The statement said that Chowdary and his family members had bought 623.12 acres of land inside and around the capital area region skirting the land pooling zone. It said this proved the allegation that there was “insider trading” in the capital region.

The state government came out with the details after Chowdary denied allegations by state Urban Development Minister Botsa Satyanarayana that he owns huge land in Amaravati.

Chowdary, who recently quit the Telugu Desam Party (TDP) to join the BJP, on Tuesday visited some villages in Amaravati along with state BJP chief Kanna Lakshminarayana and denied that he holds any land in the capital region. He also denied that there was any insider trading.

YSRCP has alleged that then Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu and those close to him resorted to ‘insider trading’ by buying land at throwaway prices before deciding on Amaravati as the state capital.

The government revealed that Chowdary who is locally popular as Sujana Chowdary, purchased 110.6 acres in Gudimetla village of Krishna district at Rs five lakh per acre before the announcement of Amaravati as the state capital.

“The land was bought by one Jatin Kumar, who heads one of the 120 shell companies of Chowdary,” said an official statement.

“Chandrababu had leaked the information to his close aides about the proposed capital Amaravati. Many TDP leaders, including Y.S. Chowdary, purchased land at low cost from the Amaravati farmers. After all the lands were in the name of TDP leaders or their relatives, on September 4, 2014, Chandrababu Nadu announced Amaravati as the new capital city of Andhra Pradesh.”

Giving survey numbers of the land, the state government said that the land is in the name of Shiva Satya Pigments Private Limited, which is one among the 120 companies established by Chowdary.

“The cost of the same land hiked to Rs 50 lakh per acre. By this, it is clear that he has made Rs 50 crore profit in the name of Amaravati.”

The statement said that Chowdary’s nephew Yelamanchali Jathin Kumar also made huge profits by establishing Shiva Jyothi Flycon Blocks Private Limited in 11.56 acres of land.

Chowdary had adopted Ponnavaram village, where he purchased 13.39 acres in the name of his father Y. Janardahana Rao. Another 3.5 acres was purchased by him in the name of his brothers Y. Shiva Ramakrishna, Y. Shivalinga Prasad, and his wife Y. Susheela Kumar.

Chowdary also purchased land in the name of SJK Biotech Pharma Private Limited in Chandapuram village, the statement said.

Sujana relative has 14 acres in Capital: Botsa

2

The war of words between the YCP and the BJP intensified on Andhra Capital. Minister Botsa Satyanarayana said that BJP MP Sujana Chowdary’s brother’s daughter Rushi Kanya has got 14 acres at Gokarajupalem in Veerulapadu mandal in Amaravati area. This property is related to the Greentech company which is one among the 120 companies that Sujana has.

Botsa announced this at a media conference only to prove that Sujana has lied that he has no property in the Capital. He says that nearly 25,000 sq yards land is under the name of several persons in land pooling which is also against norms. All these things prove that there was insider trading in Amaravati. The Minister asserted that the Capital should not belong to any particular caste or party.

Botsa said that collapse of real estate is bothering only the TDP leaders but it is a fact that real estate sector has greatly improved in Vijayawada, Tirupati, Visakhapatnam, Guntur, etc. He further said that the YCP government will dig out all corruption in the Capital land pooling and take action against the guilty persons.

Vijayasai-Sujana counter comments spark row

YCP MP Vijayasai Reddy has triggered a political storm with his statement that the Modi-Shah duo were being regularly informed about all the Jagan Regime’s reverse decisions on PPAs, Polavaram project, etc. Vijayasai comment came amid increasing attacks by BJP AP leaders on the reverse tendering process begun by the YCP government. BJP senior leader Anjaneya Reddy even described Jagan as behaving like an insane Tughlaq for taking all such anti-development and anti-people decisions like closure of Anna Canteens.

Vijayasai Reddy’s comment angered BJP leaders for giving an impression that Modi government has got a share in all the bad decisions taken by Jagan Circar in AP. BJP MP Sujana Chowdary quickly condemned the Vijayasai comment and he asked why would the Polavaram Project Authority take objection to the cancellation of Polavaram tenders by the YCP government. Sujana said that they had no information within the BJP party leadership about the Modi-Shah duo giving permissions to all the demolitions and atrocities of Jagan Circar.

CBI raids at Sujana Chowdary’s residence

0

The Central Bureau of Investigation is continuing its raids on the TDP leaders. A Bangalore-based CBI team conducted a raid on the residence of senior TDP leader Sujana Chowdary in Hyderabad. This is in connection with the case already filed against the leader over bank loans.

The CBI has reportedly seized important documents and hard discs in today’s raids. The raids are being continued amid reports of the BJP targetting to weaken the TDP further after its humiliating defeat in the AP Assembly election.

The Sakshi media, the mouthpiece of ruling YCP, has been reporting consistently that TDP leaders are looking to join the BJP in the coming months. These reports are interpreted by political experts that CM Jaganmohan Reddy is hell-bent on destroying TDP with the help of BJP. The immediate target of Modi-Shah duo is TDP in AP and TRS in Telangana.

CBI summons to Sujana Chowdary

0

The Central Bureau of Investigation has issued a notice to senior TDP leader Sujana Chowdary in a 2017 bank fraud case. Chowdary was asked to appear before the CBI Bangalore branch officials on Friday. The charges against the former union minister were that he caused huge losses to the bank in the Best and Crompton Company transactions.

The CBI officials have accused Chowdary of causing a loss of Rs 71 crore to the Andhra Bank. The notices came amid the allegations by the TDP leaders that the BJP is misusing the Central institutions to harass its political rivals across the country.

The TDP leaders have already accused the BJP and the YCP of misusing the Election Commission of India as well to gain an upper hand over the rival parties. They even said that AP Chief Secretary LV Subrahmanyam was carrying out the Delhi agenda in the state.

Contempt notice on union Minister Sujana Chowdary

0

Union Science and Technology minister Y S Chowdary, popular as Sujana Chowdary, is in trouble. The minister, a close confidante of Andhra Pradesh chief minister Chandrababu Naidu, is already in the list of defaulters released by AIBEA some time back. Now the  Hyderabad High Court slapped contempt notice on  Chowdary and asked him to file his response in  two weeks in a case related to liquidation of one of his companies. This notice stems from a case filed by Mauritius Commercial Bank Ltd (MCBL) against Sujana Universal Industries, in which he is a director.  The MCBL   had lent Rs 100 crore to Heistia Holdings Ltd, a subsidiary of Sujana Industries. As the Heistia filed to repay the loan and as the guarantor, MCBL wants  Sujana Universal to pay the loan. The MCB had got the liquidation of  Sujana  Universal and secured a decree from a London Court for about Rs 106 crore.  The Bank had earlier filed a petition in the Civil Court seeking the execution of the London Court orders. The civil court asked the Sujana Universal to furnish the bank guarantee for the amount which it failed to comply  with. Later, the court directed the company to furnish the details of its assets. According to Niranjan Reddy, the counsel for the MCBL the firm had misled the city civil court by furnishing irrelevant details with inadequate information about the assets. “This was cleverly done to subvert the process of law and hence, we decided to file a contempt case against Sujana Industries,“ he informed the High Court. Later the High Court issued notice to all the directors  of Sujana Universal Industries, including YS Chowdary, who is a non-executive director.

It may be recalled here that All India Bank Employees’ Association (AIBEA) the Sujana group owned by YS Chowdary defaulted loans worth Rs 920 crore to two public sector banks, Central Bank of India and Bank of India.

TS should finance institution-building in AP

0

Union Minister of State for Science and Technology YS Chowdary
said the Telangana State government should bear the cost of setting up of institutions in AP, which were taken over by it just because they were located in Hyderabad such as the institutes listed in Schedule IX and X of AP Reorganisation Act.

He said the TDP would press for appropriate amendments to the AP Reorganisation Act, 2014, to resolve such issues which are contentious between Andhra Pradesh and Telangana States.

“Due to deficiency in the Reorganisation Act, lot of problems are arising in the implementation of the Act. We have decided to put pressure on the Centre to amend few sections of the Act so that there would be no conflict between the two States,” Chowdary said in New Delhi hours before the commencement of Monsoon session of Parliament.

The TDP has been under attack from Congress, YSRC and Left parties for its failure to get interests of Andhra Pradesh protected from Telangana which is using the geographical status of Hyderabad to lay ownership claim on the institutes like center for good governance, Dr MCR HRD Institute even though they are listed in Schedule 10 and 9.

Even though it is not clear as to how TDP exerts pressure on BJP led NDA government in which it is also partner, it is clear that the party is planning to make some noise to avoid from being shown in poor light.
“We, the TDP MPs, are  gearing up to raise the issues such as implementation of Section 8 in common capital Hyderabad, special category status, amendments to Reorganization Act and water sharing between AP and TS, in the monsoon session of Parliament beginning from Tuesday,” said another TDP MP Thota Narasimham.

Meanwhile, APCC chief N Raghuvira Reddy wrote an open letter to the MPs of TDP, BJP and YSRC, asking them to work in unison  to persuade Centre to give special category status to AP as promised in the Reorganisation Act.
