KCR forgets PV, Ambedkar again!

1

TRS president and Chief Minister K.Chandrashekar Rao is yet again coming under attack from all quarters for skipping the official programme of former Prime Minister PV Narasimha Rao’s death anniversary held on Thursday (today) at Necklace Raod, Hyderabad.

The event was organised officially by Telangana state government but KCR did not bother to attend the event to pay tributes to PV.

Governor Tamilisai Soundararajan found time to visit PV’s samadhi at Necklace Rao to pay tributes on the occasion but KCR could not spare time.

This naturally triggered criticism against KCR in political circles as well as on social media platforms who accused him of chanting the names of PV or Ambedkar only when there are elections.

KCR never visited PV’s samadhi to pay tributes after he became except once in 2014 soon after he became CM. But KCR all of a sudden declared year-long centenary celebrations of PV in 2020 on behalf of Telangana government. He fielded PV’s daughter as TRS candidate for Graduate MLC polls in March 2021. KCR attended PV’s birth anniversary celebrations in 2020 and 2021.

Now, KCR ignored PV’s death anniversary programme. Similarly, KCR never paid floral tributes to Ambedkar during his birth or death anniversary by visiting his statue at Tank Bund after he became CM in 2014. But when Huzurabad Assembly bypoll came, KCR started paying floral tibutes to Ambedkar at Pragathi Bhavan and announced Dalit Bandhu scheme.

But after Huzurabad bypoll in which TRS lost, KCR again ignored Ambedkar’s death anniversary on December 6 recently. KCR or Chief Minister’s Office (CMO) did not bother to issue even a message paying tributes to Ambedkar.

Ex-MLA gives tough time to TRS “dhoom dhaam’ MLA!

2

TRS MLA from Manakondur Assembly constituency Rasamayi Balakishan is facing a political challenge in his constituency not from rival parties but from his own party leader who was MLA from the same constituency from 2009 to 2014.

He is none other than senior Congress leader Arepally Mohan, who was TPCC SC cell chairman. He won from Congress in 2009 Assembly polls from Manakondur.

Rasamayi Balakishan, who is famous for “Dhoom Dhaam” programmes with his Telangana songs during Telangana statehood agitation emerged as a strong TRS leader in Manakondur after the formation of Telangana state in 2014.

Mohan lost to Rasamayi in 2014 and 2018 Assembly polls from Congress. Soon after 2018 Assembly polls, Mohan jumped into TRS in May 2019.

Mohan who maintained calm since then suddenly started making political moves in Manakondur to gain hold over his constituency. He has developed his own cadre base in the constituency and aggressively campaigning internally that he will be the next MLA from TRS in 2023 Assembly polls.

Mohan’s supporters launched an aggressive social media campaign project him as next MLA of Manakondur stating that Rasamayi failed to deliver even after getting elected twice as MLA and lost faith of people and there are no chances of KCR giving ticket to Rasamayi in 2023.

This campaign by Mohan naturally triggered protests from Rasamayi’s followers and Manakondur TRS is now divided between Mohan and Rasamayi.

TRS MLAs doubt KCR’s assurance on ‘tickets for all’!

1

TRS president and Telangana Chief Minister K.Chandrashekar Rao has been promising ‘tickets to all’ sitting MLAs to contest upcoming Assembly polls in December 2023.

But there is a buzz in TRS circles that party MLAs are not believing KCR’s assurance and already started looking at Congress and BJP on a safer side.

This trend is being witnessed among those TRS MLAs who won Assembly elections for two, three, or more terms. They doubt KCR giving party tickets again to them in 2023 Assembly polls fearing ‘anti incumbency’ against sitting MLAs.

In previous Assembly polls held in December 2018, KCR gave tickets to all sitting MLAs except in five or six seats due to negative reports on them.

It worked and TRS retained power for second term by winning Assembly polls with a big majority.

However, KCR now reportedly feels strongly that this strategy will not work in 2023 as there will be severe anti-incumbency against sitting MLAs after completion of two or more terms and he wants to replace them with new faces in such seats.

But KCR cannot disclose this at this stage as it will prompt TRS MLAs to jump into BJP or Congress which would further damage TRS politically.

For these reasons, KCR is giving an assurance for namesake stating that all sitting MLAs will get tickets to prevent them from jumping into other parties.

Telangana insists on written assurance from Centre over paddy procurement

1

A delegation of Telangana ministers and MPs on Tuesday insisted on written assurance from the Centre that it will lift entire paddy stocks procured from the farmers during current Kharif season.

The delegation, which was camping in Delhi for the last three days, met Union Food and Civil Supplies Minister Piyush Goyal and demanded that the Centre procure the entire paddy cultivated in the state.

State Agriculture Minister S. Niranjan Reddy told reporters after the meeting that they sought a written assurance over paddy procurement. He said Goyal wanted one or two days to give clarity over the issue, and the delegation will return from Delhi only after receiving a clear assurance.

He said they brought to the Central minister’s notice that the Food Corporation of India (FCI) was not lifting the procured paddy and Goyal directed the officials to speed up transportation by arranging the rakes.

The delegation informed Goyal that during the current season the target of 60 lakh tonnes of paddy will be reached in 2-3 days. Another 10-12 lakh tonnes of paddy is lying at procurement centres while 5 lakh tonnes is ready for harvest. “In this situation, we wanted him to clarify if the state should procure the remaining paddy or not. We demanded a written assurance in this regard,” he said.

Reddy said the Central minister reiterated that the Centre will not procure paddy during the coming Rabi season.

Earlier, state BJP leaders led by Union Tourism and Culture Minister G. Kishan Reddy called on Goyal and briefed him how the TRS government in the state is targeting BJP and the Centre over paddy procurement issue.

After the meeting, Goyal told reporters that the state government has failed in paddy procurement from farmers. He alleged that Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao was spreading falsehood over the issue.

He claimed that the Centre agreed to procure 20 lakh tonnes of parboiled rice in addition to the quantum agreed as per the agreement between the state and the FCI. He said there was no requirement of parboiled rice in the country but the Centre agreed for additional procurement as a special case in the interest of farmers. He alleged that the state government failed to make use of the opportunity.

Amit Shah tells Telangana BJP leaders to be ready for polls

0

Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Tuesday asked Telangana’s BJP leaders to be ready for the state Assembly elections whenever they are held, and work hard to bring the party to power.

The state BJP leaders led by Union Minister for Tourism and Culture G. Kishan Reddy called on Amit Shah in Delhi.

Shah has directed the BJP leadership to educate people about the corruption indulged in the by Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) government.

The senior BJP leader reviewed the political situation in the state and gave directions to the state leadership to achieve the goal of bringing the BJP to power.

State BJP president Bandi Sanjay Kumar, BJP national vice president D.K. Aruna, former minister Eatala Rajender, MP D. Aravind, former MPs Vijay Shanti, G. Mohan Rao, Jitender Reddy and others attended the meeting with Shah.

The meeting is likely to give a boost to BJP’s efforts to focus on Telangana ahead of Assembly elections in 2023. Shah, however, asked the BJP leaders to be prepared even if the TRS goes for early polls.

The Union Minister asked the state BJP leadership to expose the rice scam and other corruption by the TRS government and suggested that they demand a probe into the same.

Shah also wanted the BJP leaders to effectively counter the allegations being made by Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao against the BJP. The Central minister wanted the BJP leaders to prepare an action plan to expose the TRS over the issue of paddy procurement.

The meeting was held a day after the TRS organised state-wide protests against the Centre over ‘anti-farmer’ policies. The protesters set afire the effigies of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and other Union ministers.

The meeting also discussed the strategy to counter the allegations by TRS against the Central government over the procurement of paddy.

Stating that the government and party are different, Shah said the party should carry on its activities irrespective of the relations between the state and the Central governments.

The Union Minister also suggested to the party leaders to chalk out programmes to remain in the midst of the people. Referring to the first phase of Bandi Sanjay’s ‘praja sangrama yatra’, he advised him to work out plans to launch the second phase.

After the meeting, Sanjay said they briefed Shah on bad governance, family rule and the attempts by the TRS government to crush dissent by foisting cases against BJP leaders.

Amit Shah also congratulated Eatala Rajender over his victory in the recent by-election to Huzurabad Assembly seat. Rajender had quit TRS and joined BJP after KCR dropped him from the state Cabinet following the allegations of land encroachment.

Shah told BJP leaders that he will visit Telangana for two days after the current Parliament session and will address a few public meetings.

State BJP leaders claim that following its victories in the by-election to Dubbak Assembly seat last year and the recent win in Huzurabad, BJP has emerged as the only viable alternative to TRS.

TRS holds statewide protests against Centre’s ‘anti-farmer policies’

0

The Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) on Monday staged protests across the state against the anti-farmer policies of the BJP-led government at the Centre.

State ministers, MPs, state legislators, other public representatives and party leaders led the protests in villages and towns, demanding the Centre to procure the entire paddy from the state.

On a call given by Chief Minister and TRS president K. Chandrasekhar Rao, the party cadres organised the protests which included rallies, dharnas, beating of drums and burning of effigies.

The protesters raised slogans against the Central government and the BJP. The TRS cadres burnt the effigies of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the Central ministers.

Carrying flags, banners and placards amid beating of the drums, the protesters demanded that the Centre lift the entire paddy from the state during the current Kharif season and also agree to procure during the coming Rabi season.

State Finance Minister Harish Rao led the protest in Gajwel while Transport Minister P. Ajay Kumar led the protest in Khammam.

Minister for tribal, women and child welfare Satyavati Rathore led the protest at the agriculture market in Mahabubabad district headquarter. She joined the party cadres in beating drums. The protesters set the effigy of the Prime Minister on fire.

State Forest minister A. Indrakaran Reddy led a huge rally in Nirmal town. Large number of party workers participated in the rally and raised slogans against the Centre.

TRS MLA Sandra Venkat Veraiah and other protesters carried bags of paddy on their heads to register their protest at Sattupalli in Khammam district.

This is the third phase of the protest organised by the TRS over the issue of paddy procurement. Last month, the party leaders and cadres had staged sit-in in all Assembly constituencies. Later, the chief minister himself had led the three-hour sit-in in Hyderabad and it was attended by the state ministers, MPs and other leaders.

Meanwhile, a delegation of six state ministers and MPs camping in Delhi for the last two days is still waiting for an appointment with the Central ministers.

State Agriculture Minister S. Niranjan Reddy, who is leading the delegation, demanded that the Centre should lift entire paddy, which is either yet to be procured at procurement centres in the state or yet to be harvested.

He said the state on Monday reached the target of 60 lakh tonnes paddy procurement allowed by the Centre for the current season. He said another 12-15 lakh tonnes of paddy was lying at the procurement centres while paddy was yet to be harvested in some districts. The minister said the state government had already requested the Centre to enhance the procurement target as the procurement is likely to continue till January 15.

“The Centre should give in writing that the entire paddy produced in the state will be procured. We are demanding assurance in writing in view of the bitter experiences with the Centre,” he said.

KCR gearing up for showdown with Centre

0

Telangana Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao is gearing up for a direct fight with the Narendra Modi government at the Centre over the ‘raw deal’ being meted out in the state, especially in paddy procurement.

After two rounds of sit-in, including the one led by the Chief Minister himself in Hyderabad last month, demanding the Centre to lift entire paddy produced in the state, the Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) chief has asked his party cadres to widen the scope of the fight by staging protests in every village against ‘anti-farmer’ policies of the BJP-led NDA government.

Unlike the first phase of protest, which was confined to ‘dharnas’ in all the 119 Assembly constituencies, and the subsequent mega dharna led by KCR, as the Chief Minister is popularly known, in Hyderabad, the third phase will include demonstrations and burning of effigies.

At a meeting with ministers, TRS state legislators, MPs and other leaders on December 17, KCR had declared an open war with the Centre.

“The party cadres have been told to burn effigies of BJP-led Centre and Union ministers who are speaking lies and spreading misinformation over the issue of paddy procurement,” a senior party leader had said after the meeting.

This will be the first time in seven years that TRS will be organising protests of this nature against the BJP-led Central government.

KCR, who last week completed three years as Chief Minister in his second term, minced no words in slamming the Centre for doing injustice to Telangana. He asked the party leaders to go to the people in their respective constituencies and explain to them the anti-farmer policies of the Centre.

KCR told the party cadres that the time has come for a decisive fight with the Centre, which is harming the interests of Telangana farmers by running away from its constitutional duty to lift paddy from the state.

The TRS decision to intensify the protest comes close on the heels of the face-off during the ongoing Winter Session of the Parliament.

After taking on the Centre on the floor of the House for not lifting paddy from the state, the TRS announced boycott of the rest of the session over paddy procurement, other issues related to Telangana and suspension of 12 members of Rajya Sabha belonging to other opposition parties.

The 16 MPs of TRS, including seven from Rajya Sabha, wanted the Centre to announce a national food grain procurement policy and also take a decision on paddy procurement from the state during the Rabi season.

Angered by the Centre’s attitude towards their demands, the TRS MPs said the country will get justice only when Prime Minister Narendra Modi leaves his seat.

“This is a fascist and anti-farmer government. We will prepare the people to revolt against the BJP in the people’s arena,” said TRS Parliamentary party leader K. Keshava Rao.

The TRS government, which was already worried over the impact of the Centre’s decision not to procure parboiled rice during the upcoming Rabi season, is also up in arms for sluggish procurement of paddy during the ongoing Kharif season.

The TRS was further angered by the statement of Central minister Piyush Goyal in the Parliament as he sought to blame the state government for the tardy pace of procurement.

“How can they blame the state government when the Food Corporation of India, warehouses, trains all are in their hands,” asked Agriculture Minister S. Niranjan Reddy.

He claimed that the state has almost reached the procurement target of 60 lakh tonnes set by the Food Corporation of India (FCI) for the current season. To mount pressure on the Centre to procure more paddy, a delegation of state ministers and MPs left for Delhi on Saturday.

The TRS is thus adopting a two-pronged strategy. While pressurising the Centre to lift the paddy from the state, the party is taking the issue to the grassroots level to explain to the people, especially farmers, that the problems are created by the anti-farmer policies of the Centre.

Political observers say that by hitting the streets, the TRS is also trying to effectively counter the BJP, whose state leadership has stepped up attack on the ruling party in the state for failing the farmers.

By organising a series of protests, TRS plans to expose what it calls ‘double game’ of the BJP. KCR and other leaders have been slamming the BJP leaders for provoking the farmers on a problem created by their own government at the Centre.

The TRS government has already appealed to the farmers not to grow paddy during Rabi season as the Centre has ruled out procuring parboiled rice from the state. The agriculture department said that since only parboiled rice is grown in the state due to its agro-climatic conditions, the farmers should look for alternate crops.

BJP leaders, on the other hand, have been asking the farmers to continue growing paddy and blaming TRS for the present situation. BJP’s state unit chief Bandi Sanjay Kumar has targeted the ruling party for not promoting cultivation of fine quality rice.

Apart from countering the BJP, the TRS faces the big challenge of convincing the farmers to stop paddy cultivation. Since paddy cultivation is considered relatively easy and is not capital intensive, persuading the farmers for a change in crop pattern will not be easy. Some political analysts say that in this situation, the TRS has limited options.

“KCR needs an escape route from the potential wrath he would face at the hands of the farmers in Telangana. Irrigation projects were the biggest assets for the TRS government to cultivate a positive image among the farmers. But now the issue of paddy procurement might upset the farmers and turn them against this regime. Now KCR needs to find means to blame the Modi government for not procuring paddy. His attack on the Union government must be looked at from that prism,” said political analyst Palwai Raghavendra Reddy.

He also feels that time is fast approaching for KCR to transfer the baton of power to his son K.T. Rama Rao.

“This would necessitate KCR to find a higher pedestal to step on to, and pave way for his son. Talking of national politics, and indicating at his potential move to New Delhi, is possibly what KCR is looking at at this stage,” Reddy added.

With just two years to go for Assembly elections, KCR will be keen to ensure that he doesn’t lose grip on power in the state, and at the same time play a key role in national politics.

India’s first International Arbitration and Mediation Centre opens in Hyd

0

India’s first International Arbitration and Mediation Centre (IAMC) was jointly inaugurated by Chief Justice of India, N.V. Ramana, and Telangana Chief Minister, K. Chandrasekhar Rao, here on Saturday.

The IAMC has come up with 25,000 sq ft temporary accommodation at VK Towers in Gachibowli, an information technology hub.

The state government has announced that land for a permanent building will be allotted at Puppalaguda in Hyderabad.

Life trustee of the centre, Justice R.V. Raveendran, Supreme Court judges L. Nageswara Rao, Hima Kohli and judges from the Telangana and Andhra Pradesh high courts attended the event.

Those who empanel the centre include internationally acclaimed arbitrators and mediators from countries such as Singapore and the UK.

The Telangana Chief Minister thanked the CJI for choosing Hyderabad to set up the prestigious facility.

Speaking on the occasion, Justice Ramana said he is confident that this centre will lead the way for arbitration and mediation in the country and will become the premier centre not only in India, but across Asia and the world.

He also said that the Centre becoming a reality is nothing short of a miracle.

“I have not witnessed any such project concluding in such a short span of time,” the CJI said, recalling that he had broached this subject with the Chief Minister on June 12 during his first visit to Hyderabad.

He pointed out that the trust deed was signed on August 20 and the MoU between the government and the trust was signed on October 27.

Ramana said that he is all for ADR (Alternate Dispute Resolution) as such methods are beneficial to the parties to a dispute due to various reasons such as low cost, speed, more control over timelines and process, autonomy of parties, more comfortable environment and non-adversarial nature.

“These are some reasons why I suggest that people explore ADR options such as arbitration and mediation first, and approach courts only as a last resort,” he said.

“The setting up of IAMC at Hyderabad is an important step towards enhancing the ADR landscape of the country. While arbitration centres have already been set up in India, most prominently in Delhi and Mumbai, domestic and international parties still appear to prefer to go to foreign countries for dispute resolution,” Ramana said, as he exuded confidence that this trend will change with IAMC at Hyderabad.

“Domestic and international parties will increasingly come to this centre, which has world class facilities. Its location in Hyderabad will also be an attraction,” he said.

Calling Hyderabad one of the best cities in the country, the CJI noted that it is a growing hub of commerce and is one of the top destinations for business in India.

“I am feeling proud that I could contribute something, which would enhance the glory of this city,” he added.

He also urged the legal fraternity to turn the centre into a most sought after destination for resolution of all types of disputes, including family as well as commercial disputes.

The CJI termed the creation of the centre as a tribute to former Prime Minister P.V. Narasimha Rao, who saw ADR as the way forward.

He also quoted from Narasimha Rao’s speech at the inauguration of ICADR in New Delhi 26 years ago.

Another Telangana delegation for Delhi over paddy procurement

0

A delegation of Telangana ministers and MPs of ruling Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) will leave for Delhi on Saturday to urge the Centre to lift more paddy from the state during ongoing Kharif season.

Agriculture Minister S. Niranjan Reddy said the state has procured nearly 60 lakh tonnes of paddy from farmers as per the target given by the Centre. Since there is more paddy to be procured, the delegation will request the Centre to revise the target.

The delegation will comprise Niranjan Reddy, Gangula Kamalakat, Prashant Reddy, Jagadish Reddy, E. Dayakar Rao, P. Ajay Kumar and TRS MPs. He said they have sought appointment with central ministers and Prime Minister Narenrdra Modi

The decision to send the delegation was taken at a meeting of TRS MPs, ministers, legislators and other leaders presided over by Chief Minister and TRS President K. Chandrasekhar Rao.

The meeting also decided to stage protests in villages on December 20 against the “anti-farmer” policies of the BJP government at the Centre. The party said the farmers of Telangana were suffering due to the wrong policies of the Central government.

Niranjan Reddy said that the TRS MPs fought with sincerity over the paddy procurement issue both inside and outside the Parliament and alleged that the Centre responded to the protest “in a disrespectful manner”.

The minister alleged that the Central ministers also “uttered lies” in Parliament. He recalled that the Centre had promised to procure the entire paddy but now had gone back on its word.

He said though the Food Corporation of India, warehouses, and trains all are under the control of the Centre, it was blaming the state for not sending the paddy.

Why “Rayala Telangana” proposal is back into focus in AP?

1

“Rayala Telangana” is the proposal mooted by few Congress leaders from Rayalaseema region, especially JC Diwakar Reddy, when Telangana statehood agitation was at its peak between 2009 and 2014 and when then Congress-led UPA government has decided to bifurcate Andhra Pradesh.

Congress leaders proposed to bifurcate AP as Andhra and Rayala Telangana States. They wanted separate state called Rayala Telangana with the inclusion of Rayalaseema and Telangana districts.

However, the Congress high command had outrightly rejected that proposal and created Telangana State only with Telangana districts in 2014.

Now, it’s almost nearing eight years since AP was bifurcated as Telangana state was formed.

At this stage, the proposal of creating Rayala Telangana again came back into limelight.

Few Congress leaders from Rayalaseema region are bringing this proposal back into focus saying that it’s the only option available to resolve Krishna water sharing dispute with Telangana and also to develop Rayalaseema region.

They want inclusion of Kurnool and Anantapur districts in Telangana and create Rayala Telangana.

They believe that this will also check YSRCP chief and AP CM YS Jagan’s dominance in AP politics and will also help Congress to retain its hold again in Rayala Telangana.

KCR’s emergency TRS meeting: Old wine in new bottle!

0

When TRS president and Telangana Chief Minister K.Chandrasekhar Rao announced on December 15, Wednesday soon after his return from three-day trip to Chennai and meeting Tamil Nadu CM MK Stalin, that he will hold TRS emergency meeting on December 17, Friday, it sent shockwaves not just in TRS but in entire political circles.

KCR’s announcement raised political heat as he called all his ministers, TRS MLAs, MLCs, MPs, chairpersons of various corporations, chairpersons of zilla parishads. All important leaders from state-level to district-level were called for the meeting creating anxious moments among party leaders and cadre. They were worried about what KCR will tell in this meeting and what important decisions he would take.

But when finally this meeting ended on Friday, it turned out to be a damp squib.

TRS leaders who came out of the meeting hall heaved a sigh of relief and when media asked them about meeting details they simply replied, “old wine in the new bottle.”

The decision taken in this meeting was to hold protests across TS on December 20 against the decision of BJP government at the Centre not to procure paddy from Telangana.

Another decision is to send a delegation of ministers and MPs to Delhi to take up paddy issue with Prime Minister Narendra Modi and union minister Piyush Goyal.

TRS leaders wondered whether is it necessary to ask all leaders from state-level to district level to attend meeting just to take those two simple decisions? Can’t KCR take those decisions on his own and ask his party leaders and cadre to follow them?

They asked where is the guarantee that PM Modi will give appointment to ministers and MPs when he denied an appointment to KCR himself recently even after staying in Delhi for three days for PM’s appointment?

But that’s how KCR creates hype in media on trivial issues and garners attention of all.

Cross-voting worries TRS in Khammam

0

Though the ruling TRS has bagged all the six local body constituency seats in Telangana, it is deeply shocked and worried about the massive cross-voting within its ranks. Usually, it is the Opposition which suffers defections, but in this case, it is the ruling party, which suffered defections.

In Khammam, the cross-voting is acute. The Congress candidate, who lost the election, polled much more than his share of votes. It is now becoming increasingly clear that the cross-voting mostly happened from the TRS. The problem is more acute in Khammam and Kothagudem divisions. That the cross voting occurred despite keeping the candidates in camps in Goa, is a cause for serious concern for the TRS.

Sources say that a senior leader is responsible for the cross voting. The Congress had 119 votes. Due to defections, the number has come down to 103. Of these, the TRS targeted another 30. So, one expected the Congress to get no more than 70 votes. But, Congress candidate Rayala Nageswara Rao polled 242 votes. This only means that there were 140 votes, which must have been polled to the Congress candidate from the TRS.

Sources say that the TRS suffered reverses even in 2018 assembly elections due to cross-voting. The TRS party is now conducting a probe into the cross-voting.

KCR gives jobs to TRS leaders, no job notifications for 30lakh unemployed!

0

Students and unemployed youth fought for statehood to Telangana with a hope that they will get jobs in separate Telangana state.

But Telangana CM KCR failed to issue job notifications despite 2 lakh vacancies in state government departments in seven years.

KCR has been giving jobs to TRS leaders by appointing them as chairpersons of various government corporations and provided employment for politically unemployed in TRS.

In the last two days, he appointed chairpersons for eight corporations.

On Friday (today), he appointed five chairpersons.

But what about 30 lakh unemployed youth in Telangana who registered with TSPSC and desperately awaiting job notifications for the last seven years.

KCR and his family members and TRS leaders got employment due to sacrifices made by students and unemployed youth due to which Telangana state was formed and KCR could become CM.

But KCR has no concern for them and only concerned about giving jobs to politically unemployed in his party.

No ticket guarantee please, BJP dashes hopes of defectors!

0

Leaders from various parties in Telangana have either joined BJP or planning to BJP with a belief that the joining in BJP itself guarantees party ticket to contest upcoming Assembly polls in 2023 or Lok Sabha polls in 2024.

However, the BJP high command has reportedly made it clear to such leaders that mere joining BJP does not guarantee party ticket to contest elections and the party will take several factors into consideration like their sincerity and commitment towards party, accessibility to party activists and people in the constituency.

The high command observed that leaders from other parties are joining BJP and simply confining to their homes later without involving in party activities or remaining accessible to people or party activists in respective constituencies.

Moreover, they are projecting themselves as candidates for upcoming Assembly and Lok Sabha polls on their own saying that they joined BJP after they were guaranteed tickets.

With this, other leaders in the constituency from other parties, though willing to join BJP and work hard for the growth of BJP are not joining BJP as they feel that they have no chance to get tickets since the party has already promised tickets to others who joined prior to them.

The BJP high command cleared the doubts of such leaders saying that mere joining the party does not guarantee party ticket.

Such leaders who had hopes of getting tickets just by joining BJP are reportedly looking to switch back to their old parties like Congress, TRS for their political future.

Team PK’s dilemma: Andhra Pradesh first or Telangana first?

0

What is cooking in the ruling YSRCP? Why is there a delay in the implementation of plans that are close to even YS Jagan’s heart? Jagan himself has announced that poll wizard Prashant Kishor will start working for the YSRCP from November this year. It has been more than 45 days after Jagan’s deadline has expired and there are yet no signs of Team Prashant Kishor beginning their task in AP anytime soon.

YS Jagan had said that Team Prashant Kishor would conduct a massive state-wide survey to assess the public perception of the MLAs. Based on their position in the performance scale, a decision would be taken whether they would be given the party ticket again or will they be replaced. So the MLAs are all jittery about this survey. But for reasons not known, team PK has not yet begun the work.

Meanwhile, there are reports that Prashant Kishor is also working out strategies to help the ruling TRS in Telangana. The TRS is continuously on a downslide with its approval ratings falling down. Post the Huzurabad elections, things don’t seem to be looking rosy for the party. So the TRS has requisitioned PK’s service. It is not clear whether PK will take up the work of Telangana first of Andhra first.

The delay in taking up survey in AP has given some breathing space for the YSRCP MLAs, especially those whose popularity graph is none too satisfactory. These MLAs are now said to be taking up some urgent measures to improve their image.

Ticket Pricing: Telangana govt Lauded and AP govt Trolled

0

The AP Government has been behaving with a deaf ear against the Telugu films industry which is already shattered with the coronavirus pandemic. The ticket pricing GO issued by the government heaped up the problems and several single screens are heading for a closure if the implementation of the GO continues. The AP High Court canceled the GO 35 that is issued by the AP government but the government is not bothered about the court’s order. The officials informed the theatre owners and exhibitors across AP to sell the tickets as per the prices mentioned in the GO. Else, they warned of seizing the theatres across AP.

This is clear that the AP government is not much bothered about Telugu cinema and their problems. On the other side, the government of Telangana are trying their best to support the film industry. Five shows with price hikes are granted for Allu Arjun’s upcoming movie Pushpa that is releasing tomorrow. The parking charges which are waved out in single screens are re-introduced in the theatres of Telangana. The government of Telangana waived off the electricity charges partially and it has been in constant touch with the film celebrities to discuss about the support that is needed. The situation is entirely different in Andhra Pradesh.

The efforts of Telangana government are lauded by everyone and the acts of AP government are badly criticized.

Scheme which brought TRS to power is now a burden for KCR!

1

Everyone knows that Rythu Bandhu scheme played a key role in bringing TRS to power for second term in 2018 December Assembly polls.

KCR launched the scheme in May 2018, credited Rythu Bandhu amount of Rs 4,000 per acre for kharif in bank accounts of over 60 lakh farmers in June, July 2018, dissolved Assembly in September 2018, again credited Rythu Bandhu of Rs 4,000 per acre for rabi in bank accounts just a week before polling in December 2018.

TRS won 88 seats out of 119 in Assembly polls which was more than 61 seats it won in first term in 2014.

TRS could overcome anti incumbency with the help of Rythu Bandhu.

But TRS chief and Telangana CM KCR is now viewing this scheme as a big burden on TRS government as the expenditure increased to Rs 15,000 crore per year after he increased Rythu Bandhu amount to Rs 5,000 per acre from 2019 kharif.

KCR is now exploring options on how to get rid of this scheme without damaging TRS image.

KCR is trying to put blame on BJP for scrapping Rythu Bandhu saying that BJP government at the Centre is refusing to purchase paddy from Telangana but farmers in Telangana prefer only paddy.

KCR wants to project that TRS government stopped Rythu Bandhu to stop farmers from sowing paddy.

KCR calls key TRS meet, may step up attack on Centre

2

Telangana Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao appears to be gearing up to take on the Centre and the BJP on various issues.

He is likely to discuss and decide a strategy at a crucial meeting of the Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) on Friday.

KCR, as the TRS chief is popularly known, will preside over a joint session of the party MPs, state legislators, party executive, and other leaders.

The meeting is likely to discuss issues like paddy procurement by the Centre and proposed privatisation of four blocks of Singareni Collieries Company Ltd (SCCL).

After staging two rounds of protest including once led by KCR himself last month over the issue of paddy procurement, the TRS is likely to decide on the next phase of protest. The party will discuss the recent developments including the stand taken by the Centre in Parliament, blaming the TRS government for slow progress of paddy procurement during the ongoing Kharif season and the boycott of Parliament session by the TRS.

The TRS chief may give direction to the party leaders to step up attacks on the Centre and BJP for misleading the people with “contradictory statements” over the issue of paddy procurement.

The TRS leaders say despite the Centre making it clear that it will not procure parboiled rice during the coming Rabi season, the state BJP leaders continue to create confusion among farmers.

The meeting will also work out a strategy to oppose the Centre’s move to privatise four coal blocks of state-owned SCCL. The company last week saw three-day strike by employees, who have threatened to launch an indefinite strike.

KCR also wrote to Prime Minister Narendra Modi to withdraw the proposal to privatise the coal blocks.

The decision to hold the meeting came a day after KCR met his Tamil Nadu counterpart M.K. Stalin in Chennai. The two Chief Ministers believed to have discussed a joint strategy to take on the Centre on various issues. Both the leaders have been targeting the Centre for taking away the powers of the states.

KCR finally recognises T-student leaders, gives them corporation posts

1

TRS chief and Telangana Chief Minister K.Chandrasekhar Rao is accused of neglecting students who sacrificed their lives and careers during Telangana statehood agitation.

KCR has been facing criticism of giving minister posts, MLA, MLC, MP tickets and nominated posts in TRS to those who have no connection with Telangana statehood agitation.

Despite this, KCR never took this criticism seriously as TRS was politically strong and won all the elections with a good majority.

But now the situation has changed for TRS in Telangana with opposition BJP and Congress emerging as strong alternatives for TRS.

After suffering defeats in the hands of BJP in Dubbak and Huzurabad Assembly bypolls, KCR seems to have realised the importance of those leaders and students who actively took part in Telangana statehood agitation.

KCR on Wednesday (today) issued orders appointing Osmania University student leaders Manne Krishank, Errolla Srinivas and Saichander as chairpersons of various state government corporations.

Krishank was appointed as chairman of mineral development corporation, Srinivas as chairman of medical services and infrastructure development corporation and Saichander as chairman of warehousing corporation.

All these three student leaders hail from Dalit community. It served three purposes of KCR of giving priority to T-agitation leaders, T-student leaders and also dalit leaders.
