KCR’s ‘holiday’ masterstroke to BJP!

0

TRS president and Telangana Chief Minister K.Chandrashekar Rao declared holidays for all educational institutions in Telangana from January 8 to 16 citing increasing Covid and Omicron variant cases.

The decision was announced all of a sudden on Monday night. This fuelled a debate in political circles over why KCR declared holidays in such an urgent manner.

This is because there is nothing great or special in KCR’s announcement. Educational institutions will anyway remain closed for Sankranthi vacation. Some schools and colleges have already declared Sankranthi vacation from January 6 to January 16.

So why did KCR declare holidays on Monday night? Political circles suspect this as KCR’s master strategy to reduce the media coverage of BJP Telangana president Bandi Sanjay lodged in Karimnagar district jail for 14-day judicial remand on Monday.

TRS boss feared that all major newspapers will give banner headings to Bandi Sanjay’s jail on Tuesday morning and to reduce the media coverage, KCR came out with holidays announcement all of a sudden. As a CM, KCR will definitely get more coverage than Bandi Sanjay on Tuesday.

In this way, KCR has dealt a masterstroke to BJP, political circles feel.

Telangana BJP chief arrested for attacking police

0

Police in Telangana’s Karimnagar town have arrested state BJP chief and MP Bandi Sanjay Kumar for attacking police personnel and violation of Disaster Management (DM) Act during tha protest on Sunday night to demand the state government to amend an order relating to transfer of government employees and teachers.

Amid high drama and tension, the police on Sunday night foiled Sanjay’s ‘Jagran Deeksha’ at his camp office.

The MP, who was kept at Manakondur Police Station overnight, was on Monday shifted to the Police Training Centre in Karimnagar town.

Karimnagar Police Commissioner Satyanarayana told reporters that the MP and other arrested persons will be produced in a court after Covid-19 tests and other medical tests.

Tension prevailed at the Police Training Centre as a large number of BJP workers gathered there to protest over Sanjay’s arrest. They raised slogans against Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao and Karimnagar police commissioner.

The protestors entered into an argument with the police officers, following which they were detained by the police.

Satyanarayana said two FIRs were registered at Two Town Police Station. In one case, 21 persons and others were booked under section 51 (B) of Disaster Management Act and section 188 of Indian Penal Code (IPC) for not maintaining social distance and for not wearing masks.

Atleast 70 people were arrested and were released after issuing notices to them, he added.

In another case, 16 persons and others were booked for rioting and attacking police personnel besides violation of DM Act. Five persons including Sanjay have been arrested.

The police invoked IPC sections 188, 332, 333, 149, 147, 188 and section 5 (B) of DM Act

The police chief said several policemen including an Assistant Commissioner of Police and a Circle Inspector were injured in the attack. He said despite repeated requests to abide by the Covid regulations which are in force, the MP and others went ahead with their programme violating rules and then resorted to rioting and attacked police personnel performing their duty.

Police had refused permission for the Karimnagar MP’s protest citing the orders in force banning meetings, rallies and other public gatherings. The party had set up a stage outside the MP’s office for the 10-hour long protest.

Sanjay, however, managed to enter into his office along with his supporters, and locked it from inside to stop police from entering the premises. High tension prevailed as the MP’s supporters threatened self-immolation if the police foil their protest.

The police personnel broke into the office. The MP and his supporters tried to resist the arrests. Police have to use the force to arrest Sanjay and 170 others and shift them to waiting police vehicles. While Sanjay was taken to Manakundur Police Station outside the town, other arrested BJP leaders and workers were shifted to other police stations.

Meanwhile, BJP leader and former minister Eatala Rajender has condemned Sanjay’s arrest. He termed the arrest as undemocratic. He said the MP was sitting on the protest peacefully in his office but the police resorted to high handedness at the instance of the state government.

KTR urges Centre to reopen Adilabad’s CCI unit

0

Telangana Industry Minister K. T. Rama Rao on Sunday urged the Centre to reopen the Cement Corporation of India (CCI) unit in the state’s Adilabad town that saying there are a lot of favourable conditions and opportunities for the unit now.

He wrote letters to union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman and Heavy Industries Minister Mahendra Nath Pandey in this regard.

KTR, as the minister is popularly known, wrote that 772 acres of land is available for the unit. An additional 170 acres for the CCI township and 1,500 acres for 48 million tonnes of limestone deposits are available.

Stating that there was enough water and 2 KV electricity supply readily available for the unit, he said that reopening of the CCI unit will not just help Telangana but also neighbouring states like Maharashtra.

“Reopening of CCI will help develop Adilabad in a big way, mainly new jobs will be created for the local youth. I request the Union government to immediately reopen the unit,” he said.

He also stated that all the facilities and subsidies given to a new company will be provided to the CCI, if reopened. KTR also assured that the Telangana will provide complete support in reopening of the CCI unit.

He lamented that in spite of Telangana government offering to provide all the assistance needed, the Central government is not coming forward to revive the plant.

He brought to the notice of the Central ministers that the construction industry is on a boom in Telangana and the demand for cement will always be high. There is a growing demand for cement across the country today and the private cement companies are making huge profits, he wrote.

He pointed out that Athat cement manufacturers associations like ICRA and CRISIL see major construction activities in the country with the Prime Minister Narendera Modi introducing the Gati Shakti Master Plan to strengthen the national highways. All the state governments are constantly working on developing infrastructure in their States, apart from the regular housing construction, leading to huge demand for cement.

KCR’s Covid restrictions to halt Bandi padayatra, Amit Shah public meet!

0

TRS chief and Telangana Chief Minister K.Chandrasekhar Rao has been waging a battle against BJP since Etela Rajender quit TRS and joined BJP. After BJP’s Etela Rajender defeated TRS in Huzurabad Assembly bypoll in November, KCR has further intensified war against BJP.

TRS is staging dharnas against BJP government at the Centre over paddy procurement issue since November and KCR himself sat on dharna at Indira Park for the first time in November.

BJP too is taking TRS seriously. Union home minister Amit Shah recently met Telangana BJP leaders in Delhi and told them to intensify fight against KCR and TRS.

He told them that he will soon visit Telangana and stay there for two days and will also address a public meeting. He asked BJP Telangana president Bandi Sanjay to begin his second phase of padayatra in Telangana.

When BJP leaders in Telangana have started making arrangements for Bandi Sanjay padayatra and Amit Shah’s public meeting, KCR imposed Covid restrictions in Telangana citing increasing Covid cases and Omicron cases. KCR banned all rallies, political meetings, public meetings, public gatherings in Telangana from December 25, 2021, January 2, 2022 first.

Now, KCR issued fresh orders on Saturday extending restrictions till January 10. It appears that KCR will continue to extend restrictions week after week.

BJP leaders question how KTR was permitted to hold a huge rally in Nalgonda on December 31, when Covid restrictions were in force. They suspect that KCR is imposing Covid restrictions only to block Bandi Sanjay’s padayatra and Amit Shah’s public meeting.

New Year High: Telugu states sell liquor worth Rs 300 cr

1

The New Year celebrations in Telugu states saw liquor sales of nearly Rs 300 crore.

In Telangana, tipplers guzzled liquor worth Rs 172 crore in a single day, while in neighbouring Andhra Pradesh, New Year liquor sales netted an estimated Rs 124 crore for the state treasury.

According to sources, this is only the preliminary estimates and the final figures could be higher.

In Hyderabad and in the rest of Telangana, the authorities had extended the timing for pubs, bars and liquor shops, which further contributed to the jump in sales.

The Prohibition and Excise Department of Telangana permitted licence holders of bars, licensees of event permit managements and in-house licensees of Telangana Tourism Development Corporation (TTDC) to serve liquor up to 1 a.m. on the intervening night of December 31, 2021 and January 1, 2022.

Relaxing the rules, the government also allowed liquor shops to sell booze till 12 midnight of December 31. Hyderabad and neighbouring Ranga Reddy districts recorded the highest sales.

In December, Telangana earned a record Rs 3,459 crore from liquor sales. According to officials, the liquor sales during December 2020 were Rs 2,765 crore. For the entire 2021, liquor sales in the state are expected to be Rs 30,222 crore.

The Excise Department recently approved 104 more shops and 159 bars in Telangana. The state presently has 2,220 liquor shops and 1,500 pubs, bars, restaurants and tourism hotels.

Andhra Pradesh too extended timings for bars and liquor shops and availability of premium brands at retail shops led to massive sales on New Year eve.

The government of Andhra Pradesh also earned record revenues of over Rs 12,000 crore from liquor sales in the first eight months of 2021. For the entire calendar year, the sales are expected to touch the Rs 20,000 crore-mark.

The YSR Congress Party government in Andhra Pradesh has come under criticism over the increase in liquor sales. The opposition parties have questioned the government’s commitment for total prohibition in phases.

The state government, which is the sole wholesaler and retailer of liquor, has claimed that the consumption of liquor has come down over the last two-and-a-half years. It also claimed that it stands by its word to impose prohibition.

Telangana expands IT to another tier-II town

0

As part of its policy to encourage information technology in tier II towns in Telangana, the state government on Friday launched work on IT Hub in Nalgonda.

Information Technology Minister K.T. Rama Rao laid the foundation for the IT Hub, which will be constructed in three acres, with a built-up area of 75,000 square feet.

This state of the art facility will have all the advanced facilities in a plug and play manner.

Officials said nine companies have already signed MoUs with the state government to set up their offices in Nalgonda IT Hub and seven more companies showed keen interest in having their offices in the IT Hub.

The IT Minister said these companies will create jobs for 1,500 local youth. He said the building for the IT hub will be ready in 16-17 months.

He quoted the IT entrepreneurs that Covid-19 has come as a blessing in disguise as it has led to a situation where the work can be done not just from home but from anywhere.

He asked the District Collector and other officials to provide temporary facility to these companies so that they can set up their operations immediately.

KTR, as the minister is popularly known, said Nalgonda will be the six tier II town to have an IT Hub.

“We have already started IT hubs in Warangal, Khammam and Karimnagar. The IT hub in Nizamabad will be inaugurated by Ugadi while the same in Mahabubnagar will be inaugurated soon,” he said.

KTR recalled when the Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) came to power in 2014, IT was confined to Hyderabad but Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao set the goal to take it beyond Hyderabad so that tier II towns also enjoy fruits of technology and the youth in these towns also get jobs.

He announced that the IT Hub in Nalgonda will also have a centre of Telangana Academy of Skills and Knowledge (TASK) to train educated youth in IT skills. The facility will also have a regional centre of T Hub to encourage innovations by local youth.

The minister claimed that Telangana was marching ahead on the path of development not just in agriculture and rural development but also in industry and information technology.

He said in a short span of seven years, Telangana witnessed rapid growth.

“Among 28 states in the country Telangana is at 11th place in terms of size and 12th place in terms of population but as per a recent report of the Reserve Bank of India, Telangana is the fourth largest contributor to the economy,” he said.

Reddy leaders row turns murkier in Telangana Congress!

0

Just when an impression has been created in Telangana politics that Congress has started regaining its lost ground in Telangana after Revanth Reddy took over as new TPCC chief in June 2021, the Reddy leaders in Congress are dragging feet of each other to pull down Congress in Telangana.

The row between Revanth Reddy and Sangareddy MLA Jagga Reddy, who is also TPCC working president, turned murkier on Friday (today) with the involvement of one more Reddy leader, Chinna Reddy.

Chinna Reddy is the chairman of TPCC disciplinary committee. Chinna Reddy made a public statement before media saying that Jagga Reddy has breached the party’s discipline by ‘leaking’ his letter written to Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi complaining against Revanth Reddy.

Jagga Reddy is angry that Revanth is taking decisions on his own without consulting anyone and holding programmes in his home district Medak without informing him. Jagga Reddy is raising an objection over Revanth announcing Rachaband programme at CM’s farmhouse in Erravelli, which comes under Undivided Medak district.

Jagga Reddy expressed serious anger at Chinna Reddy for giving media statements against him. Jagga even demanded Chinna Reddy to take disciplinary action against Revanth first for taking party decisions without consulting anyone.

Jagga Reddy said he will appear before the disciplinary committee only if Revanth appears before it.

This feud between Reddy leaders in Telangana Congress has come as a shot in the arm for TRS, which wants Revanth and Congress to weaken further.

TPCC chief Revanth Reddy placed under house arrest

0

Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC) president A. Revanth Reddy was placed under house arrest here on Friday to prevent him from leaving for Bhupalapally to participate in “Rachabanda” programme.

Policemen were deployed at the Congress leader’s house in Jubilee Hills as he was preparing to leave for interacting with farmers facing problems due to their paddy not being procured by the state government.

As part of the state-wide programme to highlight the problems of farmers, the opposition party planned to organise “Rachanbanda” in Bhupalapally on Friday evening. Police say that there is no permission for the programme.

Revanth Reddy took to Twitter to slam the Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) government. He posted a video of the policemen deployed around his house restricting his movements.

“Telangana under dictator rulea Police personnel deployed again at my house restricting from visiting farmers. Is this Afghanistan or North Koreaa?,” he asked.

Through another tweet, the TPCC president wondered if consoling the farmers was a crime. He criticised Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao saying he was spending hours at the houses of ministers and MLAs to attend marriages or to consoling them but he has no time for paddy and chilli farmers who are suffering.

Meanwhile, Congress party’s national spokesperson Pawan Khera also took to Twitter asking the chief minister why he was so afraid. “You really think you can stop Revanth Reddy and Congress from raising their voice for farmers,” he asked.

This was the second time this week that Revanth Reddy was prevented from participating in Rachabanda. On December 27, he was arrested here on Monday as he was leaving for Erravalli village to lead a protest at the farmhouse of the chief minister.

Revanth Reddy had earlier released photographs of paddy cultivated at the chief minister’s farmhouse. “On one hand the chief minister is saying that the government will not procure paddy from farmers while on the other he has taken up paddy cultivation over 150 acres at his farmhouse,” the Congress leader had said.

Eatala-Bandi Sanjay fight forces “prize catch” go back to TRS

0

Former Mayor of Karimnagar Sardar Ravinder Singh is back to where he belongs.. On Thursday evening, Singh, who rebelled against KCR, returned to the TRS.. He met KCR and has all but joined the TRS. Thus Ravinder Singh’s revolt has ended as fast and as tamely as it began.

Ravinder Singh fought as a rebel candidate for the local body constituency MLC elections recently. He rebelled after he was denied the party ticket.. He was backed by Huzurabad MLA Eatala Rajender. However, he lost the election. But, he somehow managed to make a dent into the TRS fortress by weaning away several ZPTCs and MPTCS.

But the biggest problem for Ravinder Singh was that the BJP did not open its doors for him. Party state president Bandi Sanjay, who is also from Karimnagar, has firmly rejected his plans to enter the BJP. In fact, Singh began his career as an ABVP worker and later worked as a BJP activist. However, with Sanjay firmly backing his entry into the BJP, Singh has no option but to rejoin the TRS.

Sources say that Sanjay was upset at Singh being promoted by Eatala. He felt that Singh and Eatala could open a front against him in Karimnagar district. He also wanted to teach Eatala a lesson for not consulting him about Singh beforehand. All these have made Ravinder Singh go back to the TRS.

Is KCR’s confidence at all-time low now?

0

TRS president and Telangana Chief Minister K.Chandrasekhar Rao is known for aggressive politics. He doesn’t give a damn if his party MLA, MP or any leader quits TRS or joins any other party.

Even when he was not in power during Telangana statehood agitation, so many TRS leaders including party MLAs, MPs quit TRS and joined other parties. Even then, he maintained his aggression and never tried to plead with them or convince them to stay back in TRS.

After coming to power and becoming Telangana CM in 2014, KCR’s aggression has further increased.

But now KCR’s aggression and confidence levels seem to have hit an all-time low especially after Huzurabad Assembly bypoll defeat at the hands of BJP.

KCR has invited Ravinder Singh, former ex-mayor of Karimnagar, who quit TRS recently and contested as independent candidate against TRS in recent Karimnagar MLC polls under local bodies quota.

Singh unleashed a scathing attack on KCR after quitting TRS and even took BJP MLA Etala Rajender’s support, arch-rival of KCR, to defeat TRS. Despite all this, Singh lost to TRS.

Ravinder Singh is no match to KCR’s position or stature. However, KCR gave an appointment immediately to Ravinder Singh when he sought to meet him.

Singh on Thursday met KCR at Pragathi Bhavan and sought to join TRS again. KCR too agreed immediately.

TRS leaders and cadre were shocked to Singh walking into Pragathi Bhavan and meeting KCR easily when it’s not even 15 days since Singh lashed out at KCR and his family members.

It’s difficult for ministers and MLAs to secure the appointment with KCR but Singh could meet him easily.

This triggered speculations in political circles that KCR’s confidence levels have now hit an all-time low and is ready to take back a step or two till he overcomes the tough political situation he is now facing at present in Telangana.

KCR is now in a position where he cannot afford to lose even a ward-member level leader from TRS as Ravinder Singh is just a ward member in Karimnagar municipal corporation at present.

Minister Malla Reddy weakening TRS in Medchal!

0

Telangana minister Ch Malla Reddy is famous for courting controversies. He often lands in controversies with land grabbing allegations, demanding bribes from realtors etc, and causes embarrassment to TRS leadership.

Despite all this, he continues to be the minister and enjoys the support of KCR and KTR. His critics say Malla Reddy is safeguarding his minister post as well as his political career with his huge ‘money power’ by donating crores of rupees to TRS every year.

Latest, Malla Reddy has landed in another controversy. His own party leaders in his own Medchal district are accusing Malla Reddy of encouraging ‘groups’ in TRS and adopting ‘divide and rule’ policy to check his political rivals in TRS in Medchal district but in the process, he is weakening TRS in the district.

Several TRS elected representatives in Keesara municipality submitted resignation to their posts to protest Malla Reddy’s group politics in TRS.

They complained to KCR and KTR that if Malla Reddy is not checked, TRS will lose ground in Medchal district and it will benefit either Congress or BJP.

TRS local leaders and cadre are planning to join Congress and BJP unable to bear group politics of Malla Reddy.

Why did Eatala skip Nalgonda BJP training camp?

0

Why did Eatala Rajender skip the Nalgonda district training camp of the BJP? This is now the hot topic of debate in the Telangana BJP these days. Sources say that Eatala has given his dates for the Nalgonda meet, but dropped out at the last meeting citing intense groupism in the party.  Now the party’s state leadership is trying to bring together all the warring factions.

Also, the recent training programme of the party too ended up as a tame affair. Firstly, Eatala opted out due to the groupism. Secondly, the attendance was very poor at the training camp. While 300 party functionaries were expected to attend, only about 150 actually turned up for the training programme. The group led by former district president N Narasimha Reddy has skipped this meeting, while the present district President Sridhar Reddy’s group has virtually dominated the training programme.

For a party that could not even get back its security deposit in the elections, there are three major groups in the party. The first one is led by Sridhar Reddy. The second by N Narasimha Rao and the third by Madagoni Srinivas Goud.  All the three groups are at war with one another. The result? The party cadre has become very dispirited and the leaders demoralized.

It is because of this groupism that Eatala opted out of the training camp. He is said to have told the party workers to first bury their differences and work together for a common purpose. The state leadership , led by Bandi Sanjay is also trying to put out the fires of groupsim in the party.

Telangana extends liquor timings for New Year celebrations

0

At a time when several states imposed night curfew and other restrictions in view of threat posed by Omicron, the Telangana government has decided to extend timings for bars, pubs and liquor shops on New Year’s Eve.

The state government on Tuesday issued an order, allowing Director, Prohibition and Excise Department to permit license holders of bars, licensees of event permit managements, and in-house licensees of Telangana Tourism Development Corporation (TTDC) to serve liquor up to 1 a.m. on the intervening night of December 31, 2021 and January 1, 2022.

Relaxing the rules, the government also allowed liquor shops to sell liquor till 12 midnight of December 31 on the eve of New Year celebrations.

Chief Secretary Somesh Kumar issued an order to this effect. This comes at a time when states like Delhi, Maharashtra, Karnataka, and Uttar Pradesh imposed restrictions including night curfew in view of Covid-19 situation.

Telangana on Tuesday reported seven new Omicron cases including three who had no travel history. The new cases pushed the state’s tally of the new variant of Covid-19 to 62.

Earlier, Health Minister T. Harish Rao sought to justify the government not imposing restrictions in view of the low positivity rate.

He said the Centre advised only those states who have 10 per cent or higher Covid positivity rate to impose curbs. “Our positivity rate is only 0.6 per cent and in fact it has come down compared to last week,” he said.

The state government on December 25 issues orders banning rallies and public meetings in the state till January 2. The orders were issued following the direction of the Telangana High Court to imposing curbs on public gatherings. However, the state has not banned New Year celebrations.

The High Court on December 23 had directed the state government to impose curbs during festivals and New Year celebrations in view of Omicron.

KCR to give ‘power shock’ from April !

1

Power consumers of all categories in Telangana will have to bear the brunt of increased power charges from April 2022.

The TS Discoms have submitted revised tariff proposals to TS Electricity Regulatory Commission (TSERC) on Monday (today). They sought an increase in power tariff by 50 paise per unit for domestic consumers and Rs 1 per unit for all other categories of consumers.

Chief Minister K.Chandrasekhar Rao approved tariff hike proposals following which the TS Discoms have submitted to TSERC for final approval.

The power tariff hike will impose an additional burden of Rs 6,831 crore on consumers. TS Discoms have filed ARRs with a revenue deficit of Rs 10,928 crore.

While TS Discoms incur expenditure of Rs 42,126 crore to supply power to consumers, they are getting only Rs 42,126 crore in return towards power bills. They sought an increase in power charges to bridget this revenue gap.

The TS Discoms are already in deep financial losses as there is no revision of power charges for the last six years.

Last time, the power charges in Telangana were revised in April 2015. KCR later postponed power tariff hikes due to consecutive elections from GHMC elections in January 2016 to until Huzurabad Assembly bypoll in November 2021.

Revanth Reddy proposes, but spokespersons dispose

1

After taking over as the Telangana PCC chief, Revanth Reddy has filled the party with dynamism and activism. But one section of the party still feels that despite the change of guard, they should remain in the old mould. They haven’t changed and appear averse to change. They are the party’s spokesperson.

Soon after taking over, Revath has appointed over a dozen spokespersons for the party in Telangana. He had even divided them into two categories – seniors and juniors. He chose the most articulate, effective and argumentative of them and hoped that they would voice the Congress Party’s stand on various issues. He believed they would remain effective carriers of the party’s ideology.

However, most of these spokespersons are rarely acting as the party’s mouthpieces. Some haven’t spoken a word so far. Some are keeping away from the party’s work and are said to be focusing on other things. Some are occasionally seen in the Gandhi Bhavan but were never seen addressing the media. In fact, addressing the media has become the responsibility of the PCC chief and CLP leader Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka.

Only two leaders – Addanki Dayakar and Tejawat Bellaiah Naik – are seen on TV screens. Another spokesperson Harivardhan Reddy is not regular. He occasionally sparkles in the media outings. Sircilla Rajaiah and Nerella Sarada are yet to take up their new job seriously. Another spokesperson Riaz is seen only during the party meetings. Kailash of Munugodu and Ravali too are yet to take up their jobs.

Can BJP win 70 out of 81 seats in Telangana?

0

The party has just three MLAs, two of them winning in by-elections. In the 2018 elections, it lost deposits in over 100 seats it had contested. It could not secure security deposits in any of the 31 SC, ST reserved seats. But, the very same party is now talking in terms of Mission 70 and wants to grab power in 2023.

No marks for guessing the name of the party. The party in question is the BJP. The BJP is now talking of winning 70 seats in Telangana and has unveiled Mission 70. BJP Telangana incharge Tarun Chugh is talking about Mission 70 these days. But, what is the ground reality? Political watchers say that the slogan may be quite attractive, the party does not have a route map worth the salt to achieve this.

Sources say the BJP has turned its attention to 31 SC ST seats in the state. Of these, 19 are SC seats and 12 are ST seats. The BJP has little presence in these seats and winning these seats is an arduous task. Similarly, it cannot hope to win any of the 7 seats that the MIM is representing. Thus the BJP has no reach in 38 seats. This also means that the BJP will effectively fight only in 81 seats. Can the BJP hope to win 70 out of these 81 seats?

As of now the BJP is trying to lure disgruntled but powerful leaders from the Congress and the TRS. It wants to make them candidates and win as many seats as possible. As part of this, Amit Shah is set to tour Telangana for two days. His programme is now being finalised. But, will a solitary visit of a top leader bring about a sea change in the situation? But the BJP things it will bring about the desired change in Telangana. Let’s wait and see how things unfold in Telangana in the coming days.

Why did TRS delebation comeback empty-handed from Delhi?

0

Finally, the TRS delegation, led by minister Niranjan Reddy, has come back to Hyderabad empty handed. The delegation, which stayed in Delhi for over a week and demanded that the Centre buy all the grain from AP, has returned without realising any of their demands. The Centre has neither given them an assurance, nor accepted any of their demands.

With this, the delegation came back without achieving anything. Now questions are being raised as to why the whole agitation was launched at all. Union Minister Piyush Goel said that the State government should immediately send the 27 lakh tonne paddy that they owe to the Centre.

Meanwhile, Telangana PCC chief Revanth Reddy said that the whole drama was enacted by the TRS to dupe the gullible people of Telangana. He said that the TRS delegation ran away from Delhi after the Centre raised the issue of the missing 25000 metric tonnes of paddy. He said that the TRS lacked commitment on the issue of paddy procurement.

Questions are now being raised as to why no member of KCR family has participated in the protests in Delhi. Several analysts are asking as to why KTR and Rajya Sabha member Santosh Kumar or even Kavitha Kalwakuntla were not part of the delegation. This is now likely to become a big issue in Telangana in the coming days.

Teenmaar Mallanna ‘body shames’ KTR’s son, manhandled by TRS workers!

0

Teenmaar Mallanna, a bitter critic of TRS chief and Telangana Chief Minister K.Chandrasekhar Rao and his family members was attacked by TRS workers on Friday night after he ‘body shamed’ Himanshu, the son of IT minister K.T.Rama Rao.

Teenmaar Mallanna who runs his own Q-News YouTube channel conducted a poll on his channel on Friday asking viewers to cast votes on whether development happened in Bhadradri temple or whether development happened in the body and body parts of Himanshu (to indicate that Himanshu became fat after TRS came to power).

One netizen tweeted this poll to KTR. To this KTR reacted angrily and tagged BJP national president JP Nadda asking him whether BJP was teaching this to their leaders in Telangana.

KTR tweeted, “Is this what you teach BJP leaders in Telangana? Is it Sanskar to drag my young son and body shame him through ugly political comments in BJP’s mouthpiece. You don’t think we could reciprocate in the same coin against Amit Shah Ji’s or Modi Ji’s family? Please refrain these third rate leaders and media mouthpiece of BJP from making lowlife comments particularly on my children. We will be compelled to take legal action and as I much as detest it, don’t blame us when we are forced to respond with equal vigour.”

Soon after, a few TRS workers barged into Q-News office in Hyderabad and manhandled Teenmaar Mallanna. They demanded Mallanna to tender unconditional apologies to KTR and Himanshu else he has to face severe consequences.

Teenmaar Mallanna was recently lodged in jail for more than three months in various cases booked by Telangana police. He recently came out on bail and joined BJP.

Telangana govt issues GO increasing cinema ticket prices

The Telangana state government has issued a GO (government order) allowing cinema theatres to increase ticket prices.

While Andhra Pradesh government has been issuing GOs reducing ticket prices and creating problems for cinema theatres, distributors, exhibitors and producers, the Telangana state government is coming to the rescue of film industry.

Chief Minister K.Chandrashekar Rao directed home department officials to approve the request of Tollywood film industry to hike ticket prices.

Accordingly, a GO was issued. As per this, the minimum ticket price has been fixed at Rs 50 for AC theatres and maximum Rs 150, excluding GST.

For multiplexes, the minimum price is Rs 100+GST and maximum Rs 250+GST.

For recliner seats in single screen theatres, the price is Rs 200 + GST and in multiplexes Rs 300+GST

The theatres are allowed to collect maintenance charge of Rs 5 per ticket (AC) and Rs 3 per ticket (non AC).

KCR forgets PV, Ambedkar again!

1

TRS president and Chief Minister K.Chandrashekar Rao is yet again coming under attack from all quarters for skipping the official programme of former Prime Minister PV Narasimha Rao’s death anniversary held on Thursday (today) at Necklace Raod, Hyderabad.

The event was organised officially by Telangana state government but KCR did not bother to attend the event to pay tributes to PV.

Governor Tamilisai Soundararajan found time to visit PV’s samadhi at Necklace Rao to pay tributes on the occasion but KCR could not spare time.

This naturally triggered criticism against KCR in political circles as well as on social media platforms who accused him of chanting the names of PV or Ambedkar only when there are elections.

KCR never visited PV’s samadhi to pay tributes after he became except once in 2014 soon after he became CM. But KCR all of a sudden declared year-long centenary celebrations of PV in 2020 on behalf of Telangana government. He fielded PV’s daughter as TRS candidate for Graduate MLC polls in March 2021. KCR attended PV’s birth anniversary celebrations in 2020 and 2021.

Now, KCR ignored PV’s death anniversary programme. Similarly, KCR never paid floral tributes to Ambedkar during his birth or death anniversary by visiting his statue at Tank Bund after he became CM in 2014. But when Huzurabad Assembly bypoll came, KCR started paying floral tibutes to Ambedkar at Pragathi Bhavan and announced Dalit Bandhu scheme.

But after Huzurabad bypoll in which TRS lost, KCR again ignored Ambedkar’s death anniversary on December 6 recently. KCR or Chief Minister’s Office (CMO) did not bother to issue even a message paying tributes to Ambedkar.
