Disney + stares at 300 million USD losses

Disney + lost more than 1.3 million subscribers in the last quarter of 2023 resulting in a loss of 300 million USD in October – December 2023. The statistics are for all the international markets including USA, Canada and excluding India. The hike in the subscription price is the major reason for Disney + losing subscribers. The global subscribers dropped from 112.6 million to 111.3 million in the last quarter of 2023. While the subscribers of Disney Plus Hotstar have grown by 7 lakhs in the last quarter of the year.

Disney+ began integrating Hulu content into its platform in December. The integrated version will be launched in March this year. Disney Plus Hotstar has lost big after the IPL streaming rights were lost to Jio Cinema. In India, Disney Plus Hotstar has been managing to perform decently.

There are reports that Mukesh Ambani is in negotiations to acquire the digital platform Disney Plus Hotstar. Walt Disney is looking at takers from a long time after the platform lost millions of subscribers. Disney Plus Hotstar along with the channels of Star are kept for sale.

The latest development says that the talks are in final stages and the deal is expected to be closed very soon. The big loss for Disney Plus Hotstar came after the platform lost the IPL streaming rights thus losing the subscribers. For now, both the parties are tightlipped about the happenings.

The series comes straight from the makers of “Baahubali”, producers Shobu Yarlagadda and Prasad Devineni of Arka Mediaworks Production.

What is visible to the world, does not have to be the truth.

The epic story follows the same truth as the family’s underdog is seen taking on the ruthless patriarch of the family to avenge his father who has been wronged. Having seen his father face a formidable array of adversaries, the son decides to unmask the evil that hides behind the loving Naidu and settle the scores.

The series focuses on the fact that there is a fine line between love and oppression indeed. Especially when it is about family.

The supremely talented Naveen Chandra does justice to the powerful character he plays and leaves a deep impact. There are moments where he makes sure the audience relates to the inner turmoil and feelings that Gopi is dealing with. The actress Aakanksha Singh, who has delivered outstanding performance in the film as Rachana is sure to win hearts.

The powerful role of Naidu is portrayed by the performer extraordinaire, Sarath Kumar. Talking about his role in the series, Kumar said “My role as a powerful business tycoon has multiple layers that have been masterfully maneuvered through Krishna Vijay L’s direction.”
