TDP suspects Jagan’s hand in Lepakshi Knowledge Hub land scam

0

Former MLA and senior TDP leader B K Parthasarathi on Wednesday said that the Lepakshi Knowledge Hub land scam in Anantapur district in the State reflects the under-hand dealings of the Chief Minister, Jagan Mohan Reddy.

Parthasarathi told media persons at the party headquarters here that it is highly deplorable that Jagan Reddy’s father, late Y S Rajasekhara Reddy, during his tenure as the chief minister, allocated 8,844 acres at Kudikunda of Chilumattulur mandal in Anantapur district to Indu Projects at a very low price of Rs 50,000 per acre in the name of Lepakshi Knowledge Hub. The Indu Project, in its report to the then State government stated that if 10,000 acres is allotted to the company it will develop the area industrially. Based on this report, Rajasekhara Reddy allocated the land to the project at a throw away price.

“But the Indu Projects neither launched any industry nor developed the area. But it mortgaged those lands to raise Rs 4,531.44 cr as loan. The company has invested part of this amount in some of the units owned by Jagan,” Parthasarathi said. The Enforcement Directorate (ED) had attached these properties on cases lodged against Mr Jagan and the Indu Project ran into bankruptcy following which it made it clear to the banks that it cannot repay the loans, he pointed out.

What is surprising is that another company, called Erthics, offered to pay Rs 500 cr to the banks to clear the debts of Indu Projects and the bank had diverted the land in the name of this Erthics company. This clearly means that the lands worth Rs 4,000 cr is diverted to the Erthics company for a mere Rs 500 cr, he said and suspected the hand of Jagan and his party MP Vijaya Sai Reddy behind this whole scam.

The illegal assets accumulated by Jagan and Vijaya Sai Reddy, through liquor mafia have been diverted through this Erthics company, the TDP leader stated. The fond hopes of the villagers who sacrificed their land have been belied, he added.

However, after Chandrababu Naidu became the chief minister, the South Korean-based Kia company has launched its unit in Anantapur investing Rs 13,000 cr generating 30,000 jobs. Following this the cost of the lands in Penugonda and neighbouring areas went up, he said and demanded that Jagan and Vijaya Sai Reddy give back these lands to the original owners if they do not have any role in this scam. The Reserve Bank of India, the ED and the CBI too should inquire the whole issue to bring the facts to light, he stated.

Jagan unveils YSR and Buchepalli statues

0

Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy unveiled the bronze statues of his father, former Chief Minister Dr. YS Rajashekar Reddy, and former Darsi MLA Buchepalli Subba Reddy at Chimakurthy here on Wednesday and stated that great leaders will stay in the hearts of people forever.

Addressing the gathering, the Chief Minister referred to the welfare schemes like free power to farmers, fee reimbursement, and Aarogyasri that were implemented during the YSR regime and stated that the current government had also fulfilled 95 percent of the promises mentioned in the manifesto in the last three years. After unveiling the statues of YSR and Buchepalli Subba Reddy, he announced that Ambedkar’s statue will also be unveiled in Vijayawada on April 14.

The Chief Minister announced that a slab system will be implemented to boost the granite industry, where Rs 27,000 will be provided each month to Single-blade processing units and Rs 54,000 per month for Multi-blade processing units in Prakasam District which purifies raw granite up to 22 cubic meters. For the processing units in Srikakulam and Rayalaseema regions, Rs 22,000 and Rs 44,000 will be given for Single and Multi-blade granite processing units. He said that the government had already issued GO in this regard aiming to benefit over 7,000 units, as promised during padayatra. He said that the slab system was brought during the YSR rule, but Chandrababu Naidu had withdrawn the initiative in 2016 pushing the units into danger.

Besides this, the Chief Minister also announced to reduce Rs 2 per unit in power bills to small granite units, from the existing tariff of Rs 6.3 and Rs 6.7 per unit. With both slab system and reduction in power bills, an amount of Rs 350 crore will be borne by the State government every year.

Speaking of the Veligonda Project, he said that Rajashekar Reddy had initiated the project and completed 11.58 km works of the first tunnel which is at a stretch of 18.8 km, and completed 8.74 km of the second tunnel of 118.78 km stretch. Between 2014-2019, Chandrababu Naidu’s government had only completed 4.33 km and 2.35 km of work in both tunnels, he said adding that the current government had completed the construction of the first tunnel and assured to complete the second tunnel by September 2023. He said that he would go to elections only after inaugurating the Veligonda Project.

Also, he promised to grant Rs 20 crore for the construction of a new Zilla Parishad building in Chimakurthy and making Mogigundla pond in Thullur Mandal a mini reservoir and naming it after Buchepalli Subba Reddy Reservoir.

Chandrababu Naidu Finds Failure in Jagan Reddy Governance

0

Amaravati: Reacting to a latest development in which about 30 Autorikshaw drivers laid public road by contributing their hard earned money at Gooty in Ananthapur District of Rayalaseema District, the Leader of Opposition and TDP president Nara Chandrababu Naidu criticized that it was a failure of Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy government.

Chandrababu Naidu, in his tweet, stated that the almost all the roads in the state were damaged very badly, but the government was not taking minimum responsibility to repair them. That forced the poor people to contribute to repair the roads. If that was the case, then there was no meaning in holding the Chief Minister position by Jagan Reddy.

Nagababu dares YCP leaders to bring Jagan for debate

1

Actor and Jana Sena leader K Naga Babu on Tuesday released a self-recorded video throwing two challenges to the ruling YSR Congress leaders. He called them tasks and wanted the YSR Congress leaders to complete them. He also called the YSR Congress leaders as jokers, the characters picked up from the comic puppet shows.

The first task that Naga Babu wanted the YSR Congress leaders to do was to declare that they are not going for early polls. He alleged that the YSR Congress leaders were giving leaks to the media about the possible early polls. He wanted a clear statement on this issue and asked the YSR Congress leaders to put an end to the speculation over early polls.

The second task that the actor gave was to make Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy to be ready to face Pawan Kalyan in an open debate on the development of the state. He did not mention the name of Jagan Mohan Reddy, but called him as Thanos Reddy, a name that Pawan Kalyan had given to Jagan. Thanos is the super villain character in the comic books of America.

Naga Babu said that the YSR Congress leaders were heckling Pawan Kalyan and Jana Sena every time and wanted them to prove their worth. He wanted the puppet show characters of the YSR Congress to bring their Thanos Reddy to face Pawan Kalyan in the open debate.

He said the open debate should be held in the presence of neutrals, intellectuals and media representatives. It is now to be seen how the YSR Congress leaders would react to this statement of Naga Babu as it starts going viral in the social media.

Stop Looting Public Money: Atchannaidu Demands Jagan Reddy Over Lepakshi lands

0

M.S. Rao

The Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy indulged in multiple times looting the public money in the name of allocating lands to private companies, particularly for his relatives, accused the TDP AP President Kinjarapu Atchannaidu, in a press release on Tuesday.

Atchannaidu explained that, “Jagan Reddy used different companies to take the lands from the State government at a very cheap price, when his father YS Rajasekhar Reddy was chief minister. Then the companies took loans from the banks by mortgaging the lands. They did not commence any project as they promised while taking lands from the government. After that, they did not repay the money to the banks. Further, they went to the banks and said that they could not repay the money and hence auction the lands. Now, the banks are auctioning the lands at a very minimum price. Again, the same Jagan Reddy’s persons are purchasing the lands with a different company name.”

The TDP leader alleged that, during the regime of YS Rajasekhar Reddy, Jagan Reddy ensured to allocate nearly 10,000 acrs of lands to Lepakshi Knowledge Hub Private Limited through Indu group of companies. Later, the same companies took thousands of crores of loans from the banks but they did not start production. After that, they approached banks and said that they could not repay the money and sell the lands. Now, the banks put these lands for auction at a very low price. Again, the lands are purchasing by Earthin Projects Limited, which is Jagan Reddy’s relative’s company, Atchannaidu alleged.

Atchannaidu said that Naren Ramanujula Reddy Pochima Reddy, who is Jagan Reddy’s relative, is one of the directors in the Earthin Projects Limited.

Explaining all these, Atchannaidu demanded Jagan Reddy to stop looting public money repeatedly. He said that the government should take decisions impartially and transparently.

Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Jagan Mohan Reddy meets PM, discusses Polavaram project

1

Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy on Monday urged Prime Minister Narendra Modi to help in completing the construction of the Polavaram project at the earliest.

He also urged him to approve the revised cost estimates of Rs 55,548.87 crore as already approved by the Technical Advisory Committee.

Jagan Mohan Reddy called on the Prime Minister at the latter’s residence in Delhi and discussed several key issues related to the state including Polavaram project, compensating resource gap funds, rationality in coverage of beneficiaries under National Food Security Act, arrears from Telangana Discoms to the state, and Special Category Status.

According to the Chief Minister’s Office (CMO) here, Reddy requested Modi to reimburse Rs 2,900 crore which was spent by the state government towards the Polavaram Project, and to clear the bills on fortnightly basis like in other national projects and not component-wise.

The Chief Minister also requested him to provide Rs 10,000 crore on an ad-hoc basis so that the construction works of the project can proceed smoothly. He appealed to provide relief and rehabilitation package to the displaced families in a Direct Benifit Transfer (DBT) manner, which ensures transparency.

He asked the Prime Minister to release funds of Rs 32,625 crore under Resource Gap Fund for various pending bills under 10th Pay Commission, including social security pensions and others during the period 2014-15.

The Chief Minister explained to the Prime Minister that due to the lack of rationalisation in the selection of eligible persons under the National Food Security Act, the state is suffering serious losses and has already brought this matter to his attention, where a large number of needy and deserving persons were uncovered.

Reddy said that the state government is providing a ration to 2.68 crore beneficiaries, of which 61 per cent belong to rural areas and 41 per cent are from urban areas. He reminded that as per the law, 75 per cent of people in rural areas and 50 per cent of people in urban areas should get benefits under PDS and said that states like Maharashtra, Karnataka and Gujarat, which are economically better than Andhra Pradesh, have almost 10 per cent more beneficiaries than Andhra Pradesh, due to which the state government is providing ration to the leftover 56 lakh eligible beneficiaries shouldering an additional burden of Rs 5,527.63 crore.

He said that the NITI Aayog has already met with the state government officials and told the Central government to revise the data in this regard and reminded the Prime Minister that the allocations to Andhra Pradesh should be examined.

He explained to the Prime Minister that 3 lakh tonnes of the rice quota allotted to the state every month remains unutilised, and asked him to allocate only 77,000 tonnes, which will be sufficient for the distribution without causing any additional burden on the Centre.

Discussing the promises given during state bifurcation, Reddy said that there was no rationality in the bifurcation, because of which the state suffered a lot and requested the Prime Minister to fulfill the promises given as a parliamentary witness including Special Category Status.

He said that special class status will boost the growth in the industrial sector, job creation, grants from the Centre, and tax concessions, thereby reducing the burden on the state.

The Chief Minister also told the Prime Minister that an arrear of Rs 6,756 crore receivable by Andhra Pradesh Generation Corporation Limited (APGENCO) from the Telangana government has remained unresolved for over eight years and requested the Prime Minister to direct the concerned authorities to settle the dues at the earliest so that the state power sector could be financially strengthened.

He also urged the Prime Minister to give approvals for setting up another 12 medical colleges in the state to cater to 26 districts. In regard to setting up an Integrated Steel Plant in the YSR district, he requested to allocate iron mines to APMDC for an uninterrupted supply of iron ore to operate the plant. He said that the allocation of mines is very important for setting up a steel plant, which enables a stable transport of ore.

Jagan, KCR racing for top position in corruption, says Central Minister Thakur

1

BJP senior leader and Union Minister for Youth Affairs, Anurag Thakur said that Andhra Pradesh chief minister Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy and Telangana chief minister K Chandrasekhar Rao were competing with each other to reach top position in corruption in the country. He said right now, Jagan Mohan Reddy was in fourth place while KCR was in second place in corruption.

The Union Minister addressed a meeting of the BJYM, the youth wing of the BJP in Vijayawada on Sunday, where he attacked the chief ministers of the two Telugu States. He said that both the chief ministers have failed to live up to the expectations of the youth. The two chief ministers have not created employment opportunities and were forcing the youth to join the mafia.

Anurag Thakur said that both Andhra Pradesh and Telangana states were ruled by the sand, land, liquor mafias. As there are no jobs, the youth were getting attracted to these mafias, the Union Minister said.

The Union Minister referred to the liquor racket found in the Aam Aadmi Party government in Delhi, and said that the mafia has links with Andhra Pradesh. He advised Jagan Mohan Reddy to focus on providing new jobs for the youth. He also told the AP chief minister to stop smuggling of ganja from the state.

Anurag Thakur said that Jagan Mohan Reddy was more interested in JST (Jagan Service Tax) rather than the GST. He asked the people to reject Jagan Mohan Reddy and rally behind the BJP for corruption-free government and wealth creation.

The Union Minister also found fault with Jagan Mohan Reddy for planning three capitals. “There is no money to build a single capital. How can this government build three capitals?” the Union Minister asked.

0

Chief Minister Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy took an ambitious decision to provide internet facilities to all the government schools across the state. This would facilitate the schools to start digital teaching and learning as the state government had already signed a MoU with BYJUS for online teaching.

The State government had already developed the government schools under the Nadu-Nedu programme and introduced English medium. Most of the government schools are now affiliated to the CBSE and admissions were taken this year accordingly.

The chief minister had asked the officials to provide uninterrupted internet facility to all the schools and provide digital boards in every classroom. He wanted the officials to make the best use of BYJUS in providing knowledge and skills to the students and teachers as well.

The chief minister also directed the officials to take care of maintenance of the schools that were developed under Nadu-Nedu. He wanted them to appoint a special officer to look after the maintenance of these schools in the state.

Jagan Mohan Reddy also told the officials to digitalise the text books and provide each lesson in the PDF format for the students. He wanted them to start the process of distribution of laptops to the students from Class VIII and make all lessons available on their laptops.

He also wanted the officials to provide a female teacher as councillor for girl students to address their problems in the school.

When she was returning from the town, one of the tyres of the car in which she was travelling burst.

Jagan violating Centre’s guidelines on Polavaram, says TDP

0

Chief Minister, Jagan Mohan Reddy, is totally neglecting the guidelines issued by the Union Water Resources wing, the Polavaram Authority and Water Commission following which the project is getting abnormally delayed, said former minister and senior TDP leader Devineni Umamaheswara Rao.

Talking to the media here on Wednesday, Umamaheswara Rao felt that Mr Jagan Reddy has to bear the entire blame for ‘turning the Polavaram into a bane.’ The Polavaram Authority too has written to the State Chief Secretary on July 15, 2022 that Jagan Mohan Reddy is responsible for the delay in the completion of the project works.

The abnormal delay in the completion of the project is merely because the contractor and the Water Resources wing could not properly implement the plan. The State Government is totally neglecting the timely alerts given by the Centre, the former minister observed.

Also, Jagan Reddy did not heed the advice being given by the Centre for the past three years to constitute a managerial committee to supervise the works, Umamaheswara Rao said. The slow pace of project works is the primary reason for the submergence of the areas, he added.

The Centre several times pointed out that the delay in the completion of the project is only because of the faulty policies of Jagan Mohan Reddy, he stated.

Andhra CM moots revamp of welfare hostels in state

0

In a bid to revamp the welfare hostels system and maintain the structure on a war footing, Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy has ordered for an action plan and standard operating procedure.

The chief minister on Wednesday reviewed the infrastructural facilities in SC, ST, OBC and Minority Gurukul schools’ welfare hostels under Nadu-Nedu scheme and ordered comprehensive development. He also directed the officials to focus on quality, instead of quantity while taking up the revamp works.

“Improve the existing hostels by increasing the monthly maintenance fund. Put yourself in their shoes while revisiting the numbers. Be empathetic and focus on the qualitative part,” said Reddy.

The chief minister called for moving the hostels out of rented buildings and housing them permanently in owned buildings within a year. He also said that all vacancies should be filled immediately. The state government is also introducing the family doctor concept to the hostels by connecting them with nearby PHC. “Doctors should visit the hostel on monthly basis,” the chief minister added.
