On Independence Day, Jagan raises three capitals issue

1

Chief Minister Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy once again raised the three capitals issue during his Independence Day speech in Vijayawada on Monday. He referred to the issue asserting that the three capitals were proposed for the decentralisation of administration and development as well.

Jagan Mohan Reddy said that in the last three years of his governance, he had introduced several administrative reforms and took the governance closure to the people through village and ward secretariats. He also cited the reorganisation of districts and said that it was part of his initiative to take the government to the door steps of the people.

It was during these remarks, Jagan Mohan Reddy had referred to the three capitals proposal and hinted at continuing his efforts to establish three capitals for the state. He said that his government is against concentration of power and development at one place.

He said he had given power to several castes, which have been ignored and neglected for several decades. Jagan Mohan Reddy said that his government had given due representation to the SCs, STs, BCs and Minorities ensuring 50 per cent share for women. He cited the allocation of MLC and Rajya Sabha seats to these sections in the last three years.

All government schools in AP to have internet

0

Chief Minister Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy took an ambitious decision to provide internet facilities to all the government schools across the state. This would facilitate the schools to start digital teaching and learning as the state government had already signed a MoU with BYJUS for online teaching.

The State government had already developed the government schools under the Nadu-Nedu programme and introduced English medium. Most of the government schools are now affiliated to the CBSE and admissions were taken this year accordingly.

Now, the internet facility in all the government schools would start a new phase in education as the children have already started learning English. Though netizens were trolling a girl student who spoke English with the chief minister some time ago, there are more students who have started speaking English unmindful of being trolled.

The chief minister had asked the officials to provide uninterrupted internet facility to all the schools and provide digital boards in every classroom. He wanted the officials to make the best use of BYJUS in providing knowledge and skills to the students and teachers as well.

The chief minister also directed the officials to take care of maintenance of the schools that were developed under Nadu-Nedu. He wanted them to appoint a special officer to look after the maintenance of these schools in the state.

Jagan Mohan Reddy also told the officials to digitalise the text books and provide each lesson in the PDF format for the students. He wanted them to start the process of distribution of laptops to the students from Class VIII and make all lessons available on their laptops.

He also wanted the officials to provide a female teacher as councillor for girl students to address their problems in the school.

AP CM’s mother Y S. Vijayamma escapes unhurt in accident

1

Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy’s mother Y S. Vijayamma escaped unhurt in an accident in Kurnool town on Thursday.

The former MLA was in Kurnool to call on the family of a friend of her late husband and former Chief Minister Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy.

When she was returning from the town, one of the tyres of the car in which she was travelling burst.

The incident took place on the Gutthi road.

Vijayamma escaped unhurt to the relief of those accompanying her. She later resumed her journey in another car.

Last month, she had resigned as the honorary president of YSR Congress Party.

Vijayamma told the party plenary that she needed to stand with her daughter Y.S. Sharmila, who has floated a political party in neighbouring Telangana.

After Rajasekhara Reddy’s death in a helicopter crash in 2009, Vijayamma was elected unopposed to the Assembly of then undivided Andhra Pradesh from Pulivendula constituency in Kadapa district.

In the by-elections held in 2011 following the resignation of Jagan Reddy and Vijayamma from the Congress party, they were elected from Kadapa Lok Sabha and Pulivendula Assembly constituencies, respectively, by record margins.

Vijayamma had contested unsuccessfully for Lok Sabha from Visakhapatnam in 2014.

Jagan violating Centre’s guidelines on Polavaram, says TDP

0

Chief Minister, Jagan Mohan Reddy, is totally neglecting the guidelines issued by the Union Water Resources wing, the Polavaram Authority and Water Commission following which the project is getting abnormally delayed, said former minister and senior TDP leader Devineni Umamaheswara Rao.

Talking to the media here on Wednesday, Umamaheswara Rao felt that Mr Jagan Reddy has to bear the entire blame for ‘turning the Polavaram into a bane.’ The Polavaram Authority too has written to the State Chief Secretary on July 15, 2022 that Jagan Mohan Reddy is responsible for the delay in the completion of the project works.

The abnormal delay in the completion of the project is merely because the contractor and the Water Resources wing could not properly implement the plan. The State Government is totally neglecting the timely alerts given by the Centre, the former minister observed.

Also, Jagan Reddy did not heed the advice being given by the Centre for the past three years to constitute a managerial committee to supervise the works, Umamaheswara Rao said. The slow pace of project works is the primary reason for the submergence of the areas, he added.

The Centre several times pointed out that the delay in the completion of the project is only because of the faulty policies of Jagan Mohan Reddy, he stated.

Andhra CM moots revamp of welfare hostels in state

0

In a bid to revamp the welfare hostels system and maintain the structure on a war footing, Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy has ordered for an action plan and standard operating procedure.

The chief minister on Wednesday reviewed the infrastructural facilities in SC, ST, OBC and Minority Gurukul schools’ welfare hostels under Nadu-Nedu scheme and ordered comprehensive development. He also directed the officials to focus on quality, instead of quantity while taking up the revamp works.

“Improve the existing hostels by increasing the monthly maintenance fund. Put yourself in their shoes while revisiting the numbers. Be empathetic and focus on the qualitative part,” said Reddy.

The chief minister called for moving the hostels out of rented buildings and housing them permanently in owned buildings within a year. He also said that all vacancies should be filled immediately. The state government is also introducing the family doctor concept to the hostels by connecting them with nearby PHC. “Doctors should visit the hostel on monthly basis,” the chief minister added.

Jagan tells officials not to involve millers in paddy procurement

0

Chief Minister Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy has directed the officials to stop the millers from exploiting the farmers during the paddy procurement by giving them qualitative and quantitative receipts at RBKs while the rest of the process will be done by the custodian officer of the government.

“Generate a random lottery system so millers would not know from which RBKs the grains are coming from,” Chief Minister instructed the officials. “There should be effective coordination between the various departments which helps the RBKs to function smoothly,” said the Chief Minister.

Like the family doctor concept, the Chief Minister also asked the officials to come up with a soil doctor who would give each landholding farmer or tenant a health card to monitor the soil and give them a specific diagnosis.

“Fertilizers based on lands will avoid the indiscriminate use of fertilizers by the people. Most of the farmers are not aware of the use of fertilizers and they are doing it because some other farmer has been following the model,” said the Chief Minister.

He said that RBKs should eventually become farmers’ doctors. “Soil tests should be done regularly and health cards to be given to the farmers. Along with health care, RBK should provide advice on fertilizers and crop cultivation suitable for that land,” said the Chief Minister.

The Chief Minister said that the farmers should get the minimum support prices and there should be no role for millers during the procurement process. “Famers should be educated regarding the procurements and MSP by seeing the posters at RBKs. The poster should also have phone numbers for the farmers to report any irregularities,” said the Chief Minister.

He said that RBKs have five kinds of testing including soil and the equipment should be provided along with the training to the staff. He also asked them to establish a weighing bridge at the RBK level so the dependency on the private bridge would be reduced.

Jagan speaks to MPs on Madhav episode

2

YSR Congress president and chief minister Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy is understood to have spoken to the party MPs in Delhi about their colleague and Hindupur MP, Gorantla Madhav’s episode. The MP is involved in an alleged nude video which is being trolled in the social media.

The opposition TDP too is taking advantage of the video in which the MP was found having a video call in nude. The TDP is campaigning against the MP and the YSR Congress accusing the party of indulging in anti-social and unethical activities.

The TDP had also raised the demand for resignation of the MP, while Madhav had denied his involvement and alleged that it was morphed by the TDP IT wing.

Jagan Mohan Reddy, who arrived in the national capital on Saturday evening closeted with the party MPs at his official residence in 1 Janpath. He had reportedly collected the views of every MP on Madhav’s video.

The chief minister had also taken the views of the MPs to move forward on the issue and see that the damage is averted. Sources say that Jagan Mohan Reddy also held a separate meeting with Gorantla Madhav and took his version of the issue.

The ruling YSR Congress and the state government have started an investigation into the issue. The IT wing of the YSR Congress is also examining the video to find out whether it was morphed one or genuine.

Party general secretary and advisor Sajjala Ramakrishna Reddy had already said that the party would take serious action against the MP if he was proved guilty.

As investigation is on, the chief minister had reportedly told the MPs to be careful and not to give any chance to the opposition or the people to find fault with them.

Work towards absolute victory, Jagan tells party workers

1

Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy has asked the party cadre to work towards achieving the best and script history in YSRCP style in 2024 as was done in all the subsequent elections after coming to power.

Addressing the Party workers from Rajam constituency here on Friday, the Chief Minister said that in Rajam constituncy alone Rs 775 crore have been distributed through DBT (Direct Benefit Transfer) for various schemes.

Among welfare schemes, we have allotted over 12,403 plots for housing worth over Rs 248 crores, he said.

This apart, 9509 houses costing over Rs 171 crore are under construction
It is time for us to proudly tell the people about our work and stress the point that we have fulfilled 95 percent of our poll promises, he said.

We need to establish a strong relationship between the cadre and volunteers at the grassroots level.

We also need to form booth committees where we need to give 50 per cent representation to SC, ST, BC and Minorities and make sure that there are 50 percent women in each committee.

Development is tangible in our government in every village in the form of a Secretariat, RBK (Rythu Bharosa Kendras) and English medium schools.

In Agriculture, Education and Health we have brought in revolutionary changes and now time has come for us to propagate our good work, he said.

‘I need the support of all the cadre to keep performing and we must work towards scripting history, YSRCP style, he said
We must aim for a win where for the next 30 years the Opposition withers away, he said.

Jagan likely to meet AP CJ on in September on HC shifting

0

Chief Minister Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy is likely to meet chief justice, Prashant Kumar Mishra, in September this year. If sources in the chief minister’s office are to be believed, the chief minister wants to have a fresh dialogue with the chief justice on shifting of the high court from Amaravati to Kurnool.

The Central government had made it clear during the current monsoon session of the Parliament that shifting of the high court from Amaravati to Kurnool has to be decided together by the chief minister and the chief justice.

Union Minister of Law and Justice, Kiren Rijiju, had categorically said in both the Houses of Parliament that the issue has to be decided in the state and a consensus report from the government and the high court has to be sent to the Central government for further action.

He said that the administrative work of the high court is the responsibility of the chief justice, while the expenditure is to be borne by the state government. Hence, he wanted the high court and the state government to decide together and send a clear proposal if the high court has to be shifted to Kurnool from Amaravati.

Though Jagan Mohan Reddy has considerable weightage with the BJP leadership at the Centre, he is worried about the adverse response from the Supreme Court, with Justice N V Ramana, at the helm of affairs. Justice Ramana, even after becoming the chief justice, did not mince words about his association with the TDP. He had revealed his association with the TDP recently at Ranchi in Jharkhand state, when he delivered a Justice Satya Brata Sinha memorial lecture on July 23.

Given these issues, chief minister Jagan Mohan Reddy is waiting for Justice Ramana to retire on August 26. Sources say that Jagan Mohan Reddy would make his next move on his three capitals plan only in September and not before that.

Will Jagan axe his MP Gorantla Madhav?

0

All eyes are now on YSR Congress supremo and chief minister Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy checking whether he would act against his MP or ignore it. The Hindupur MP of the YSR Congress, Gorantla Madhav, was caught talking to a woman and showing her his naked body.

Though the video was recorded by a third person as it appears, it went viral in the social media and electronic media. The news channels have even conducted debates on this video questioning the ethical values of the MP and the YSR Congress Party as well.

The MP himself had denied and alleged that it was morphed to defame him. He also named the TDP general secretary Chinthakayala Ajay, who is also head of the TDP’s IT wing, as the man behind this morphed video.

Government advisor and the YSR Congress Party general secretary Sajjala Ramakrishna Reddy said that the government and the party are looking into the issue. He said that the party would take serious action against the MP, if it was proved genuine and not morphed.

There are two arguments doing rounds in the YSR Congress circles. One argument is that the TDP’s IT wing had done this only to divert the people’s attention from the death of NTR’s youngest daughter Umamaheswari. It is alleged that TDP chief N Chandrababu Naidu and his son Nara Lokesh are behind Umamaheswari’s death.

The TDP, particularly Chandrababu Naidu’s family was put in embarrassment and the TDP could not counter it and hence the nude video of the YSR Congress MP was released.

The other view is that the TDP IT wing is actively engaged in making the ruling YSR Congress leaders do wrong things. The trap on Madhav was like a honey trap, which is very popular in the national capital. As the video appears to have been recorded by a third person, the YSR Congress circles see it as a honey trap by the TDP and its media.

However, Jagan Mohan Reddy is silent on the issue and has not made any statement so far. Though there was a rumour last night that the MP was suspended and was asked to resign his Lok Sabha membership, there was nothing of the sort till Friday evening.

Is Jagan Mohan Reddy waiting for the police to prove whether the video was original or morphed and whether it was part of the honey trap planned by the opposition party?

AP govt pays Rs 395 cr to 3.95 lakh petty vendors

0

Chief Minister Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy has credited Rs 395 crores to 3.95 lakh beneficiaries under Jagananna Thodu scheme here on Wednesday besides an interest component of Rs 15.96 crore. The scheme provides Rs 10,000 each to small and petty traders, vendors and artisans and so far the State has provided Rs 2,011 crores to 15,03,558 families under the scheme to promote self-employment.

The small and petty traders and vendors who sell their goods and ware on the pavements, tiny shops and push carts also generate employment and become part of social empowerment.

The Chief Minister said that he had seen the plight of such petty traders, who were exploited by money lenders and middlemen besides artisans and the Jagananna Thodu scheme had thus evolved and we have kept our promise by paying Rs 10,000 each. The State has been providing loans to over 5.08 lakh, other state governments in the country have been providing such benefits to 15.03 lakh families which show the scale and size of concern we have towards social and economic empowerment, he said.

For those who repay loans on time, the State has been taking the interest burden and Rs 48.48 crore has been reimbursed to 12.50 lakh families. As part of this, Rs 15.96 crores is being reimbursed now. The list has 3.95 lakh new beneficiaries to whom an amount of 395 crore loans is being given.

Drawing a comparison with the previous government, the Chief Minister said, such welfare was never thought of by the previous dispensation and it never thought of people who were engaged in small and petty trade selling coffee, tea, eateries, vegetables, fruits in various modes. They also did not focus on artisans and traditional craftsmen. The previous government and its friendly media had a feudal mind-set looking after their own interest.

The budget remains the same then and now the only difference is the change of Chief Minister. Why schemes are reaching the poor now means, there are no middle men and it is being credited directly into the bank accounts shunting out the role of middlemen and corruption, he said.

Jagan to begin interaction with party workers from Kuppam

0

Chief Minister and the YSR Congress president, Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy is all set to begin his much-awaited interaction with the party workers from Kuppam Assembly constituency. The interaction is scheduled to be held from August 4 evening at his camp office in Tadepalli.

Jagan Mohan Reddy had intentionally picked up Kuppam to start his mission with an eye to defeat TDP chief N Chandrababu Naidu in the next election too. Jagan Mohan Reddy is riding high with great expectations on Kuppam, as he could defeat the TDP in all the local body elections, right from village panchayat to the Kuppam Municipality.

He is scheduled to meet at least 50 active workers of the party from every assembly constituency at every meeting. He had asked the MLAs, MPs and the constituency incharge leaders to send the list of the names to be invited for the meeting with the chief minister. Besides, the chief minister’s office had also secured some names suggested by the I-PAC, the political consulting agency which works for the YSR Congress.

Jagan Mohan Reddy is scheduled to interact with a good number of them at every meeting, and finally speak for 30 minutes on the role to be played by these workers during the elections. He is getting feedback on every MLA ahead of these meetings and would get some additional information from them during the interaction.

Meanwhile, Jagan Mohan Reddy is also planning to hold Praja Darbar at Tadepalli camp office shortly, where he intends to meet the general public and receive representations from them. However, the chief minister’s office is yet to decide the dates and the schedule to hold these Darbars.

Late Dr Y S Rajasekhar Reddy used to hold Praja Darbar every day when he was the chief minister and received representations from the people. Dr Rajasekhar Reddy received applause from the people through this intervention. It is to be seen how far Jagan Mohan Reddy would succeed in his meetings with the people in Praja Darbar.

Andhra Pradesh pays rich tributes to designer of Indian flag

0

Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Y. S. Jagan Mohan Reddy on Tuesday paid rich tributes to Pingali Venkayya, the designer of the Indian national flag on his 146th birth anniversary.

The state government organised the birth anniversary celebrations as part of ‘Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav’.

At a programme held at his official residence in Tadepalle, the chief minister hoisted the national flag, took the salute from the police and garlanded the bust of the freedom fighter.

Jagan Mohan Reddy also inaugurated a photo exhibition on the life of Pingali Venkayya.

He also unveiled the portrait of Pingali which was painted by the Director of Culture Department Regulla Mallikharjuna Rao.

Minister for Panchayat Raj Peddireddy Ramachandra Reddy, Government Advisor (Public Affairs) Sajjala Ramakrishna Reddy, Government and other senior officials attended the programme.

Meanwhile, former chief minister N. Chandrababu Naidu also paid tributes to Pingali on the birth anniversary. The Telugu Desam Party (TDP) chief said the great son of the soil created a special place in the hearts of crores of Indians by designing the national flag.

Naidu said that the nation’s call to hoist the tricolour on every house as part of ‘Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav’ is the honour for Telugu-speaking people, thanks to Pingali Venkayya.

The former chief minister recalled the services rendered by Pingali not just in the freedom fight but also in the fields of education and science.

Born near Machilipatnam on August 2, 1876, Pingali had designed many models of the national flag. In 1921, Mahatma Gandhi approved a design during the Indian National Congress meeting in Vijayawada.

Jagan, Naidu to attend meeting with Modi on Aug 6

0

Telugu Desam Party supremo and former chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu seems to be compromising with the situation these days. He revolted against Prime Minister Narendra Modi before the 2019 general elections and broke the alliance. He rallied the non-BJP wings at the national level and had even tied-up with the Congress.

But, after the TDP’s debacle in the elections, Chandrababu Naidu is said to be moving closer to the BJP leadership. He had recently extended support to the BJP-led NDA candidate in the Presidential election. He is said to be lobbying with the BJP top leadership to restore ties with the party for the 2024 general elections.

He is now getting ready to face Prime Minister Narendra Modi and is all set to share a meeting to be chaired by the Prime Minister in Delhi on August 6. The prime minister had convened a meeting to celebrate the Azadi Ka Amruth meeting commemorating the 75 years of Independence. The Central government had invited Chandrababu Naidu from Andhra Pradesh to attend the meeting.

As chief minister, Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy too will be attending the meeting. He is also scheduled to meet Prime Minister Narendra Modi on the day and ask for release of funds for the Polavaram Project, including the rehabilitation and resettlement package.

Both Chandrababu Naidu and Jagan Mohan Reddy don’t see eye to eye. The political differences between the two leaders have gone even personal and they hate each other to the core. As Chandrababu Naidu announced the boycott of the Assembly, they have not seen eye to eye in the last one year.

The two leaders are scheduled to attend the meeting and it is to be seen how Chandrababu Naidu faces Narendra Modi chairing the meeting and Jagan Mohan Reddy attending the meeting.

Jagan came to power by making false promises, says TDP

1

TDP politburo member and former minister Nakka Ananda Babu on Monday said that Jagan Mohan Reddy has come to power by cheating the public and making false promises.

Ananda Babu said that banning sale of liquor is a prime example of Jagan’s false promise. Before coming to power he said that prohibition will be imposed in the State in three phrases and sale of liquor will be allowed only in star hotels. And, it is included even in the YSRCP manifesto, he added.

“What is the condition in the State today? Even in tea shops liquor is available and everyone knows how many deaths are being reported daily due to consumption of cheap brands of liquor,” he stated.

Are the Ministers not ashamed to say that their party, their election manifesto does not include prohibition. Recently, Gudivada Amarnath said that their party never promised to impose prohibition in the State, Ananda Babu pointed out.

Whether the Ministers are making such statements on their own or Jagan is forcing them to go on record like this, he asked. Jagan Mohan Reddy is now solely dependent on the commission that he gets on liquor sale, he said.

Jagan has already borrowed Rs 33,000 cr by mortgaging those consuming liquor and also prepared a plan to raise another Rs 25,000 cr, Ananda Babu said. The SGS Labs in Chennai had reported that the ‘J’ brand liquor has dangerous contents but the State Government did not care for this and is playing with the lives of the people, he stated.

“If the lab reports are wrong, by this time some action would have been initiated against the management and it would have been subjected to harassment,” the TDP politburo member said adding that since there is no action taken against the lab it clearly indicates that the reports are correct. Jagan is minting money on liquor every YSRCP leader is indulging in making spurious liquor claiming the lives of innocent people, he stated.

Without fulfilling the promises made to the people, Jagan Mohan Reddy and his Cabinet colleagues are resorting to counter attacks on the Opposition party leaders and the innocent common public by claiming that the YSRCP had never made a promise on prohibition, Ananda Babu said.

Is Jagan settling for 155 seats in the 2024 election?

0

Chief Minister Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy is telling his party leaders to focus on winning all 175 Assembly seats in the 2024 general election. He has justification for the top target. The first reason is the number of cash schemes that he had been rolling out for the last three years, benefiting almost every family in the state. The schemes were continued even during the lockdown and through the Covid pandemic.

The other reason is the party’s victory in Kuppam Assembly constituency which has been the fortress of TDP chief N Chandrababu Naidu. The TDP chief had been winning this seat since the 1989 election. He campaigned in the constituency in the 1989 and 1994 elections.

As he became the chief minister in 1995, he never visited the constituency to file his nomination during the election or to receive the declaration form after the election. In all, Chandrababu Naidu had won this constituency in seven consecutive elections.

Besides the MLA elections, the TDP had been doing well in the constituency in all the local body elections for all these years. But, perhaps for the first time, the TDP had lost all the local body elections.

The Jagan Mohan Reddy government had upgraded the Kuppam town into a municipality and now made it a revenue division headquarters in the district’s reorganisation. The present government had also constructed a primary health care centre, opened a junior college and provided new buildings for the school under the Nadu-Nedu programme.

With all these initiatives, the YSR Congress had won all the gram panchayats, mandal parishads and the municipal elections in the last year. Having won these elections, Jagan Mohan Reddy set his eyes on winning all 175 Assembly seats. “If we are winning Kuppam, why not the rest,” is what Jagan Mohan Reddy is telling his party leaders.

However, he is giving the target of 155 seats in his inner circle. While the 151 seats are from his own party, Jagan Mohan Reddy is firm on winning the four Assembly seats which were added to his party from the TDP. It is to be seen how far he would succeed in this mission 2024.

Chief Minister Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy paid Rs 508.18 crore under YSR Kapu Nestham on Friday, benefitting 3,38,792 women belonging to Kapu, Balija, Ontari, Telaga castes across the state.

Addressing the gathering, the Chief Minister said that the state government had credited Rs 16,256 crore through DBT for the Kapu community through various welfare schemes in the last three years, where Rs 1492 crore was spent alone on YSR Kapu Nestam.

He said that the scheme was not mentioned in the manifesto, yet it was initiated to benefit women by providing financial assistance of Rs 15,000 per annum, similar to YSR Cheyutha to empower women with business opportunities, and stated that the government is working for the welfare of these communities.

Drawing a comparison with the previous TDP government, he said that only Rs 400 crore per annum was spent for Kapu, Balija, Telaga and Ontari castes in TDP rule, while the present government had almost spent over Rs 32,296 crore in the last three years through both DBT and non-DBT schemes.

He stated that through DBT, funds of welfare schemes are being directly deposited into the beneficiaries’ accounts without any corruption or discrimination and added that DPT (Dochuko, Panchuko, Thinuko) was effectively implemented during Chandrababu’s regime.

Taking a dig at the gang of four including Chandrababu Naidu, Pawan Kalyan, and a section of the media, the Chief Minister said that they were all trying to mislead people and secure power. He said that Pawan has been trying to sell the Kapu votes to Chandrababu. He asked people whether they want DBT governance or Chandrababu’s DPT rule.
