Retiree IAS to target Nirmala Sitaraman

3

The YCP Government is known for its effective use of retired persons to attack its opponents. It is well known how retired judge Justice Kanaga Raj was made the State Election Commissioner to embarrass Nimmagadda Ramesh Kumar. Now, the political circles are full of rumours the YCP regime was using a Delhi-based retired IAS officer to target none other than Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitaraman.

Subhash Chandra Garg served as the Secretary in the Union Finance Ministry. Somehow, he could not go down well with Finance Minister Nirmala Sitaraman. He was transferred to another department from where he took voluntary retirement and joined the Andhra Pradesh Government as an advisor. Suddenly, these days, Garg was making allegations against Nirmala Sitaraman. Delhi political circles were rife with rumours that AP Chief Minister YS Jaganmohan Reddy and his MPs were targeting Sitaraman. This was because the Union Finance Ministry was not approving all the requests being made by the AP Government.

Recently, AP Finance Minister Buggana Rajendranath Reddy and senior IAS officers visited Delhi and tried to convince Sitaraman to allow AP Government to take more loans. There was no positive response. Even in respect of Polavaram funds, Sitaraman could not approve the requests made by AP because of several issues. This was being seen as the immediate reason for the YCP to target the Union Finance Minister.

In fact, Sitaraman has been helping the AP Government to maximum possible extent. Last year, she gave approvals to make Rs. 13,000 Cr loans additionally. This year also, AP was given permissions to make Rs. 5,000 Cr more loans. But, the Union Finance Ministry has rejected some more requests of AP that were against rules. Also, it was asking many questions on Polavaram expenditure. Political circles are curious to see where this latest confrontation will lead to.

War between Lady Gajapathi Rajus goes personal

1

The people of North Andhra hold in high esteem the families of the Gajapathi Rajus. Since the YCP came to rule, things have changed for the worse. The ruling party has adopted the age-old British policy of ‘divide and rule’ against the royal families of Vizianagaram. The ongoing Pydithalli Utsav became a forum for settling scores between the divided families. With the help of YCP, Sanchaita Gajapathi Raju is wielding all the power right now over the royal family’s property and trusts. She is the daughter of Anand Gajapathi Raju.

Anand’s another daughter Urmila Gajapathi Raju has also become active. Their mothers were different. Now Urmila is opposing her step sister’s ways of bringing down the prestige of their family as a whole. As such, Sanchaita has used the Police and the Endowments officials to prevent Urmila from taking part in the Pydithalli Sirimanu utsavam. The officials obstructed Urmila from using their right to watch the Sirimanotsavam from the ramparts of the fort there.

A furious Urmila Gajapathi Raju criticised the officials for surrendering to the tactics of Sanchaita. Not stopping at that, Urmila has accused Sanchaita of insulting their father Anand Gajapathi Raju and their royal family as a whole. Despite the rising criticism from the other family members, Sanchaita was not relenting and going on aggressively implementing her own policies regardless of the protests from the local people and organisations. Urmila’s appeals for her rights are also falling on deaf ears.

TDP MLC Sunitha resigns, decides to join YCP

2

TDP MLC Suneetha has resigned from her post and strongly criticised the Telugu Desam Party leadership. She has sent her resignation letter to the Chairman of the AP Legislative Council asking him for accepting her resignation letter. For several months now, Suneetha has distanced herself from the Opposition TDP and she is one among the TDP leaders who have been lured into the YCP fold. It may be recalled how Dokka Manikya Vara Prasad and other Dalit MLCs and leaders were won over by the ruling party with a clear plan to go forward with its agenda.

After sending her resignation letter, Pothula Suneetha came down heavily on the TDP leadership, saying that the main Opposition party has been working in violation of the spirit of the Amdedkar ideals. She asserted that the TDP has been failing to discharge its duties as a constructive opposition. Moreover, the TDP leadership is adopting anti-policies and obstructing the development being brought by the ruling YCP.

It is well known how while leaving the TDP, all the leaders are saying how they are getting attracted to the pro-Dalit and pro-people policies of the Jaganmohan Reddy regime. The YCP has been specifically targetting the SC, ST leaders under its Operation Aakarsh programme.

Supreme Court notices on TDP Mangalagiri building

0

Not a day passes without either the High Court of Andhra Pradesh or the Supreme Court of India passing one order or the other on the issues of AP. Today, the Supreme Court issued notices to the Telugu Desam Party, the AP Government and the CRDA on the TDP Central Office buildings at Mangalagiri. The notices were issued based on a petition filed by YSRCP MLA Challa Ramakrishna Reddy.

The petitioner challenged the High Court’s order on the allotment of land to the TDP during the Chandrababu Naidu regime. The petitioner’s lawyer said that the land allotment was made in violation of the pollution control norms. Top Supreme Court lawyers Prasant Bhushan and Ramesh argued on behalf of the YCP MLA.

The ruling party MLA’s petition was struck down by the High Court in the past. Now, his challenge petition came up for hearing in the Apex Court. The Supreme Court has also given three weeks time to the three respondents to give their replies on the issue. The petitioner has been asking for cancellation of the allotment of land for the TDP. But, the fact is that the TDP has already constructed huge buildings on the land for its party overall activities.

Nandigam Suresh escapes attack by an Amaravati resident

2

Controversial YCP MP Nandigam Suresh narrowly escaped from an attack right outside his house in Uddandarayunipalem village in Amaravati Capital City area. Just when the attacker was about to approach the MP, the gunmen sprung into action and caught hold of the person. The incident happened when Mr. Suresh came out of his residence during late night hours on some minor work. The attack was made when he opened his car door and was about to sit into the seat.

The attacker was caught and handed over to the local police. He was identified as one Bathula Poornachandra Rao, a resident of the neighbouring Mandadam village in Amaravati Capital area itself. The followers of Nandigam Suresh are saying that the attacker is a TDP activist and that it was a deliberate attempt to target the MP. It is well known the Amaravati farmers, rythu coolies and women were unhappy and disappointed with Nandigam Suresh for his outright support to the 3 Capitals Bills.

Even though a resident of Amaravati area, Nandigam Suresh has not been supporting the Capital city agitation. Not only that, he has been making humiliating remarks against the agitators. The MP has been an unquestioning, diehard loyalist of CM Jagan Reddy right from the days before the 2019 election. Without any background, he was given an MP ticket from Bapatla that eventually led to his getting elected to the Parliament in his first attempt itself.

The latest attack has come as a deep shock to the YCP local leaders themselves. The Government and the police have been taking tough action against the anti-YCP individuals but still the attacker ventured to target none other than the ruling party MP himself right in front of his residence and in the presence of his gunmen.

Constitutional crisis in AP, says RRR

4

Yuvajana Sramika Rythu Congress Party Lok Sabha MP K Raghurama Krishnam Raju on Monday challenged the Jagan government that he is willing to quit the party if an election is held with Amaravati as referendum.

Raju, who revolted against his own party by lodging a complaint with Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla citing threat to life from his party’s leaders, reiterated that he would win the elections with a thumping majority if elections were to be held with Amaravati as referendum.

“Let the Jagan government take up a referendum. I will quit politics if the public verdict in referendum goes against capital city at Amaravati. Or, let Jagan dissolve the government and go for fresh elections on the issue of shifting the capital city away from Amaravati. Why are you scared. If you think you will win the polls, accept Amaravati as referendum.”

Raju has been strongly resisting the Jagan government’s decision to create three capitals. On Monday, he stepped up his protest demanding that Amaravati be retained as the only capital city in the larger interests of Andhra Pradesh. He described the 300-day long agitation by Amaravati farmers as one of the longest and peaceful agitations, taken up purely on Gandhian lines and urged all like-minded people to continue the agitation in the Gandhian method of ‘ahimsa’ to thwart the state government’s “devious plan” to shift Amaravati capital city to Vizag.

Without referring to the recent letter written by the Chief Minister to Chief Justice of India S A Bobde, Raju warned Jagan to desist from lowering the dignity of judges and judiciary. In his letter, the Chief Minister had alleged that the Andhra Pradesh High Court was being used to “destabilise and topple my democratically elected government.” Jagan had levelled charges of corruption and bias against sitting Supreme Court judge, Justice N.V. Ramana, and other high court judges. On Monday, Raju stated that it was a ‘deliberate attempt’ to scandalize the judiciary.

Raju said a constitutional crisis arose and the day is not far when the YSRCP leaders will be sent to prison. He said the YSRCP leaders have been brazenly attempting to terrorise the judiciary. “This is being done to undermine the institution,” Raju said.

Raju has sharpened his attack against his own government ever since the CBI conducted searches on his properties in alleged connection with the Rs 826 crore bank loan fraud case. The CBI had registered on a complaint by the Punjab National Bank against against 10 people and the Ind-Bharath Thermal Power Ltd company based at Secunderabad on the allegations of causing an alleged loss of Rs 826 crore to PNB and other consortium banks.

Raju had stated that Jagan Mohan Reddy met Prime Minister Narendra Modi on October 6, the same day when the CBI has registered a case against him with the regards to the bank loan he had raised from a consortium of banks. The MP from Narsapuram also said Jagan met Punjab National Bank chairman Mallikarjuna Rao after meeting the PM. Raju had raised doubts that Jagan could have influenced the PNB chairman to press a case against him.

Raju had met President Ram Nath Kovind and submitted two letters – one seeking central forces protection and the second on retaining Amaravati as capital of Andhra Pradesh. Raju held detailed discussions over the Andhra Pradesh government’s plan to change the capital city to Vizag. The YSRCP Lok Sabha MP had appealed to the President to retain Amaravati as the executive capital as it has necessary infrastructure. He also submitted a letter to the President in this regard.

YCP MLA tests Covid positive for second time

1

YCP Tirupati MLA Bhumana Karunakar Reddy tested Covid positive for a second time now. Only in August last, the MLA got infected and was treated at the Tirupati Ruia Hospital. His son also tested positive at that time. They fully recovered from the disease. But once again, in over a month’s time, the MLA got infected.
As Bhumana complained of fever and breathing problems, tests were conducted at a private lab. The tests revealed that he tested positive once again. This is the first case of second time infection on the same patient ever since the Coronavirus epidemic broke out in Andhra Pradesh.

The medical and health officials became high alert following this incident. They are taking additional safety precautions to prevent any harm to the ruling party MLA.

It may be recalled that the elected people’s representatives are getting infected with Corona because of their need to meet with crowds of people. The occupational hazard is proving to be harmful at times. Many YCP MLAs like Biyyapu Madhusudhana Reddy have already recovered from the disease but still moving in crowds and attending meetings.

Rs 300 Cr worth ‘Rushikonda’ lands grabbed: TDP

0

CM Jaganmohan Reddy is prime accused in CBI cases regarding his benami transactions during YSR regime. Now, Jagan in his capacity as CM is facing new allegations of benami deals. Latest is Vizag Baypark. TDP says Jagan has unveiled Quid Pro Quo-2 in Andhra Pradesh. Former Finance Minister Yanamala Ramakrishnudu said the Chief Minister has taken over Baypark in the guise of Hetero and Rs 300 Cr worth Rushikonda lands have fallen into the hands of Mr. Jagan Reddy through his benamis. The Government should explain and reveal the secrets behind the changing of hands of Baypark which was developed with Rs. 120 Cr. People in highest positions were behind the major shares in Baypark going to Hetero firm.

As per the TDP, Jagan Reddy’s benamis took over Kakinada SEZ only recently and now Vizag Baypark was also grabbed. While the TDP developed the tourism projects, now the CM was developing his own benami companies. All the benefits were being passed on to those who were co-accused in his cases in the past.

The TDP leader pointed out that Hetero was the co-accused in the first charge sheet filed by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) in Jagan Reddy’s illegal assets cases. If Jagan Reddy and Vijay Sai Reddy were A1 and A2 in those sensational cases, Hetero and Aurobindo were A4 and A3. Hetero invested Rs. 19.50 Cr in Jagan Reddy’s companies in return for 75 acres allotted to Hetero in Jadcherla SEZ.

Mr. Ramakrishnudu said that the Enforcement Directorate (ED) has filed cases against M. Srinivas Reddy, Director of Hetero. It has got varied companies like Hetero Drugs Ltd, Hetero Labs Ltd and Hetero Healthcare Ltd. Kakinada SEZ was allotted to A3 Aurobindo company now. A4 Hetero got hold of Vizag Baypark.

Mr. Ramakrishnudu said that CM Jagan Reddy resorted to Quid Pro Quo-1 in his father YSR regime during 2004-`09 and now unveiled Quid Pro Quo-2 during his present regime. Kakinada SEZ and Baypark benami transactions were part of Quid Pro Quo-2 only. High level probe should be conducted into these deals. The TDP would complain to the Central Government and it would expose Jagan Reddy’s Quid Pro Quo-2 shady transactions.

Fear of cases behind Jagan’s Delhi tours, says TDP

2

AP CM Jaganmohan Reddy visited Delhi and met with PM Modi. But, he has not addressed the press anywhere about the outcome of his visit. The TDP launched an attack on this now. Former Finance Minister Yanamala Ramakrishnudu said that AP CM was making frequent visits to Delhi out of fear of his illegal assets cases pending before the CBI Special Court. Jagan was literally scared of the impending prospects of having to appear before the court on a daily basis in the wake of the proposal for speedy disposal of cases against people’s representatives. It is well known that half of the 25 pending cases before the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) and the Enforcement Directorate (ED) were pertaining to Mr. Jagan Reddy.

Mr. Ramakrishnudu said that the YCP leaders were terrified of the High Court’s order for disposing of the cases against the elected leaders within 9 months. The secret meetings with Central leaders were only for selfish gains. Jagan Reddy was not able to hold joint press conferences with the Union Ministers. The AP CM was not telling the people what he asked and what the Centre has given. Even the YCP MPs were not holding any press conference to tell the people about the CM’s Delhi visit outcomes. The secrets behind the news leaks and formality sake press releases should be revealed to the people. They totally forgot about the pending promises in the Reorganisation Act. In just 17 months, Jagan Reddy made 10 trips to Delhi. The AP CM was only bothered about his future but not about the wellbeing of the people of the State.

Buggana urges GST Council for 2% more loans to AP

2

It is well known how the YCP Government has been taking loans from every available source. Now, Finance Minister Buggana Rajendranath Reddy has requested the GST Council at the national level to give permission to Andhra Pradesh for 2 per cent additional loans.

After the Coronavirus economic impact, the revenues of the Central Government have also been badly hit. Ever since, the Central funds to the States have come down significantly. In this connection, Buggana has begun bringing pressure on the GST Council for permitting AP to procure more loans. Though the financial situation is grave, the AP Government is still going ahead with its Cash Transfer promises for which the Jagan regime is not hesitating to make new loans.

In his latest submissions, Buggana told the GST Council that there was a big cut in the Central funds. Only 15.5 lakh crore was given to the State for 2019-`2020 as against Rs. 18 lakh crore for 2018-`19. Unless these issues were rectified, the States would suffer heavily for lack of revenues.

Making this plea strongly, Buggana is bargaining for additional loan permissions. Already, the AP Government got greater loan eligibility by agreeing for electricity reforms like fixing meters on agricultural pumpsets.

YCP received no proposal to join NDA: Sajjala

5

Jaganmohan Reddy Government’s Public Affairs Advisor Sajjala Ramakrishna Reddy has clarified that their party has not considered any proposal to join the BJP-led National Democratic Government alliance Government at the Centre. ‘We have not received any such proposal from any side’, he said. His clarification comes amid reports that the Jagan Reddy-led YSRCP is on the verge of formally joining the Narendra Modi-led NDA alliance regime formally by accepting ministries in the Union Cabinet.

Sajjala’s comments got a lot of significance at a time when CM Jagan has left today with a team for Delhi for a key meeting with Prime Minister Modi tomorrow. Sajjala Ramakrishna Reddy is asserting that their party is not at all interested in winning high level posts. The central focus on the YSRCP would always be to get a fair deal for the drought-hit, backward regions in the State.

Considered the most important among Jagan Reddy’s advisors, Sajjala went on to assert that the AP Government would do everything possible to protect the State’s interests. It would convince the neighbouring State in the process of getting approvals for the projects in drought-prone areas in Andhra Pradesh. At the same time, Sajjala said that their party would make sure that AP would not lose its rights in any respect.

The moot question here is whether neighbouring CM KCR would be convinced or not. It is well known that KCR is clever in whipping up Telangana sentiments based on water rights and that he would not lose the present opportunity to hit hard on both the BJP and the AP Government.

Ganta’s back door entry into YCP finalised: Mission Vizag

2

One by one, all the TDP MLAs and leaders in Visakhapatnam port city are surrendering to the Operation Aakarsh of the ruling YSRCP. Already, Vizag South MLA Vasupalli Ganesh Kumar has joined hands with the ruling party. His sons have formally joined and taken membership of the YSRCP.

Now, the decks are cleared for a similar joining of TDP’s Vizag North MLA and former Minister Ganta Srinivasa Rao. The modus operandi is the same. Ganta’s son Ravi Teja would be joining the YCP and he would take the membership in the presence of Chief Minister YS Jaganmohan Reddy. Ganta Srinivasa Rao would be present on this occasion. This back door entry of Ganta into YCP is expected to take place on Saturday.

Only a few days ago, YCP MP Vijay Sai Reddy has targetted and warned that Ganta Srinivasa Rao would have to face serious consequences because of the huge corruption during his period as the Minister. Vijay Sai has threatened that during the Chandrababu Naidu regime, Ganta resorted to irregularities in his capacity as the Minister for which he would have to pay a heavy price now. Analysts say that Vijay Sai’s warnings indicate the ruling party’s latest move to speed up their Mission Vizag in order to win over as many TDP leaders as possible before the final shifting of Capital to the port city.

Ganta’s entry into YCP would certainly create a sensation in political circles. But, the TDP leaders say that the MLAs and leaders may leave their party but the cadres will remain with their party like before. Moreover, Ganta is known for his shrewd political moves and never the one to go against the ruling party at any point of time in his political career because of his business interests.

All eyes on BJP-YCP affidavits on Capital shifting

3

The High Court of Andhra Pradesh has indeed pushed the BJP and YCP into a corner by asking for affidavits on the political parties’ stand on Amaravati Capital before and after 2019 election. Especially, the BJP would find it indeed a very tight-rope walk to strike a balance in its arguments. Its alliance partner Pawan Kalyan’s Jana Sena has already filed its affidavit categorically favouring only one Capital which should be at Amaravati. It has opposed 3 Capitals.

Ever since the Capital shifting row came to the fore, the BJP has been speaking in two voices. Its leaders Somu Veerraju and GVL Narasimha Rao have been consistently saying that the AP Government has a right to change Capital. The Central Government has no role to play in this. At the same time, they are saying that the previous TDP regime has failed to complete the Capital within five years of its rule. However, AP should protect the interests of Amaravati farmers in the event of forming 3 Capitals.

All such confusing arguments so far made by the BJP and its Spokesman GVL would not help to satisfy the High Court now at this juncture. The BJP would have to simply say whether it supports Amaravati as only Capital City or not prior to election and what its present stand is. BJP has been arguing that it has always asked for the High Court in Kurnool, which is a matter for political debates but not filing affidavits in the court.

On its part, YCP will have a very tough time to support its 3 Capitals plan. CM Jagan Reddy himself welcomed Amaravati Capital in the Assembly before elections but later he came up with 3 Capitals in the name of development of all regions. How YCP would now explain its changed positions in its court affidavit is now a matter of curiosity?

CM Tirumala visit: BJP and TDP leaders under house arrest

1

In view of Chief Minister Jagan Mohan Reddy visit to Tirumala, several BJP and TDP leaders have been kept under house arrest.

The BJP and TDP leaders demanded that Jagan Mohan Reddy sign a declaration form. They demanded that the Chief Minister be allowed to enter the Tirumala shrine only after submitting the declaration form. A posse of police personnel was deployed outside the residence of former TDP MLA Sugunamma. Angry TDP leaders protested the police action to keep Sugunamma under house arrest. Further, the TDP leaders demanded that the government follow the age old tradition laid down during the British regime to declare one’s faith before entering the Tirumala shrine. They wondered why Jagan visits Tirumala shrine by himself, while his entire family accompanies him when he visits Jerusalem.

TTD chairman YV Subba Reddy, who is also Jagan Mohan Reddy’s uncle, stirred a Hornet’s nest by stating that there is no need for the chief minister to sign a declaration to prove his faith in Lord Venkateswara.

” Former President APJ Abdul Kalam and AICC chief Sonia Gandhi also signed the declaration during their visit to Tirumala. Only on declaring faith in Lord Venkateshwara will a person from another faith be allowed inside,” they demanded. The TDP leaders alleged that attacks on Hindu temples, like the burning of chariots and stealing of idols, were going on unabated in the state in the last more than one year rule of Jagan Mohan Reddy. “The government had failed to take any concrete measures to protect the temples from attacks, the Centre should intervene to safeguard the sanctity of temples and uphold the sentiments of Hindus and people of other religions,” the TDP leaders said.

Earlier, TDP president and former chief minister Chandrababu Naidu had criticized the TTD Board’s decision not to demand a declaration of religion from Jagan Mohan Reddy during his visit to the Lord Venkateswara shrine at Tirumala.

Kodali Nani statements at the behest of Christian CM: RRR

6

TTD trust board chairperson Y V Subba Reddy, the maternal uncle of Chief Minister Jagan Mohan Reddy, has once again stirred a Hornet’s nest. After proposing to sell Srivari assets, Subba Reddy had recently stated that it is not mandatory for non-Hindus to sign a declaration form to enter the temple premises, a departure from age-old tradition. His statement triggered protests from the Opposition parties, mainly the TDP and BJP.

The former chief minister and TDP president Chandrababu Naidu questioned the need to change the age-old system and insisted that established traditions at Tirumala should not be altered for the sake of a “non-believers” referring to Y V Subba Reddy and Jagan Mohan Reddy. Naidu asked Jagan to sign the declaration before entering the abode of Tirumala. This prompted YSRCP leader Kodali Nani, known for his loose tongue and abusive remarks, to lash out at Naidu. Kodali Nani questioned Naidu as to why Jagan should sign the declaration form.

On Monday, several BJP leaders demonstrated at Alipiri against Y V Subba Reddy’s statement demanding that he retract his views on the declaration form. The BJP accused the ruling YSRCP of attempting to destroy the Hindu religion systematically in the last more than one year rule. Meanwhile, YSRCP ‘rebel’ Lok Sabha MP Raghurama Krishnam Raju slammed Kodali Nani for his remarks that declaration form is not required for non-Hindus to enter the abode of Tirumala.

Speaking to media persons in New Delhi, Raju warned Kodali Nani that in the coming days’ people will revolt against the anti-Hindu policies of the YSRCP government. “It is going to be tooth-for-tooth and nail for nail,” Raju warned.

Participating in ‘Raccha Banda’ programme, Raju cautioned Kodali Nani that people will not think twice in “breaking bones” of the YSRCP leaders if the current dispensation continues with anti-Hindu policies. Raju, known for his sarcasm, took jibes at Kodali Nani in his inimitable style. “It is not the chariot that was burnt in Antarvedi, the sentiments of Hindus have been burnt to cinders. It is not the idols of Hindu deities that were broken, it is in fact the emotional feelings of Hindus that were shattered to pieces,” Raju stated.

Further, he said neither Kodali Nani, a practicing Hindu, nor Jagan Mohan Reddy, a practicing Christian can ever think of entering Mecca, the holy place for Muslims.

Referring to Kodali Nani’s statements that the government will make up for the three missing silver lion statutes in Kanaka Durga temple, Raju said “It is not just mere silver. There is a lot of divinity attached to it as it belongs to Goddess Durga. Kodali Nani, a Hindu is making anti-Hindu statements, at the behest of a Christian Chief Minister. If you want to win elections, you want the Hindu religion, but you don’t even keep one idol of Hindu deity. Hindus are a peace-loving community. They believe in harmonious co-existence. If you cannot respect the Hindu religion, do not disrespect it,” he warned

Vizag South MLA to leave TDP and join YSRCP

3

Visakhapatnam South MLA Vasupalli Ganesh Kumar has distanced himself from the Telugu Desam Party (TDP) activities for quite some time. Now, time has come for him to announce his decision to leave the TDP and join the ruling YSRCP. Reports say that the TDP MLA will join YSRCP in the presence of Chief Minister YS Jaganmohan Reddy. They may not officially announce his joining considering the legislative complications in the Assembly.

Like other TDP MLAs, Ganesh Kumar would also meet Jagan Reddy and make some comments against the Chandrababu Naidu leadership. He would not be wearing any YSRCP flag just like Vallabhaneni Vamsi, Maddali Giri and Karanam Balaram who already shifted loyalties to the YSRCP.

For a long time now, CM Jagan has been making all out efforts to attract most TDP MLAs and leaders in Visakhapatnam and North Andhra districts. The ruling party has even tried to woo the Kinjarapu Yerrannaidu family which is known for its long-standing bond with the TDP. It was only because of this that K. Atchannaidu was made to face a lot of political harassment.

The Chief Minister’s special focus on North Andhra was evident from how he has been making futuristic plans for making Visakhapatnam the Capital of his political empire. It is well known Jagan Reddy has been saying he will be in rule for the next 30 to 35 years in Andhra Pradesh. Already, Vijayasai Reddy has taken a firm grip on North Andhra districts even though there are Deputy Chief Minister and senior Ministers like Botsa Satyanarayana.

Jagan Reddy vote share eroded by 16%: TDP’s latest attack

4

The Telugu Desam Party has started a new information campaign that the YSRCP Government is paying a heavy penalty now for its continuing attacks and atrocities on the weaker sections and backward classes people in villages and towns all over Andhra Pradesh ever since coming to power in 2019 elections. The TDP says that in the last 16 months of its oppressive regime, the ruling YSRCP has lost support of 16 per cent voters. The BC, SC, ST and Minorities have distanced themselves from the ruling party unable to bear its misrule.

The TDP chief Chandrababu Naidu told the party leaders that the poorer sections were disenchanted and distanced from Jagan Reddy party. They were facing severe hardships because of the unbearable burdens from tax hikes and loss of livelihoods. Current charges were increased three times. Sand and cement rates increased heavily which created a big crisis. Liquor prices were increased by 300 per cent. Water cess and registration charges were also hiked. In just a short time, over Rs. 50,000 Cr worth taxe burdens were placed on the people.

In the recent few weeks, the TDP has been challenging again and again that Jagan Reddy should seek fresh mandate on his U-turns on his countless promises especially Amaravati Capital City. Amid the Parliament session and a lot of heat on AP politics, the TDP is taking its fight a step ahead saying that there is an erosion of 16 per cent vote share in YCP vote bank.

In 2019, YCP got 50 per cent vote share as against 40 per cent of TDP. It is clear how the TDP chief is making it obvious that their party has come into a winning position. Indeed, a bold challenge to the YSRCP.

YCP raises Amaravati lands ‘scam’ in Lok Sabha

2

The YSRCP had done ultimate damage to Andhra Pradesh Capital by taking its hatred for Amaravati to the Parliament. YCP Floor Leader Mithun Reddy told Lok Sabha today that a massive land scam took place at the time of construction of the Amaravati Capital. Over 4,000 acres illegal land transactions occurred during that time. Lands worth thousands of crores rupees were acquired at very cheap rates.

Mithun Reddy told the Parliament that the previous TDP regime played hide and seek on the capital as the then CM Chandrababu Naidu first named Tiruvuru in Krishna district as the future Capital City. It was deliberately done to mislead the people only to buy lands in Amaravati at cheap rates. The TDP leaders used benami names of white card holders and bought lands in Amaravati.

What more, Mithun Reddy told the Lok Sabha that Amaravati Capital was the epicenter of the country’s biggest land scam involving insider trading in recent years. The AP Government already ordered a Special Investigation Team to probe the scam. Only to punish the culprits, the YCP was wanting a CBI probe into Amaravati scam.

Analysts say that the YCP is obviously taking its Capital shifting agenda to a logical conclusion by defaming Amaravati at the national level and then by finding legal loopholes to bypass the hurdles being created in the courts.

Vijayasai demands Centre to release Rs. 3,805-Cr Polavaram funds

3

YSRCP Rajya Sabha MP Vijayasai Reddy raised the issue of Polavaram irrigation project in the Parliament on the second day of the session today. He demanded the Central Government to release Rs. 3,805 Cr pending dues for taking up the Polavaram project works. He told the Parliament that the Jagan Reddy Government has decided to complete the lifeline irrigation project of Andhra Pradesh by the end of 2021. The lack of funds was becoming a hurdle in the completion of the project.

Analysts say that the deadlock on Polavaram works was a problem created by the ruling YSRCP for itself. If the ruling party did not arrogantly go for rentendering, the project would have been completed by now. Very unfortunately, the Jagan Reddy regime even embarrassed the Modi Government and disobeyed its suggestions for withdrawing the reverse tendering. As a result, the project works came to a standstill for a long period. At one time, CM Jagan went to the extent of saying that AP would complete the project with its own funds.

But, over the months, Jagan Reddy Government was getting caught and trapped in a financial crisis of its own making because of its multi-crore Cash Transfer schemes. The CM also faced allegations of diverting all Central funds for Cash Transfer schemes to strengthen his vote bank from now itself.
The BJP, which has plans of its own to grab power in AP, has stopped giving its cooperation to Jagan Reddy in his efforts to turn AP into his pocket state. Now the situation has come to such a sorry state that the YSRCP MPs have to plead for release of Central funds in the Parliament despite the fact that the BJP-led Government at the Centre was dependent on YCP support in Rajya Sabha.

Jagan tells YCP MPs to demand CBI probe in Parliament

Despite rising opposition, Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister YS Jaganmohan Reddy is pushing ahead with his 3 Capitals plan with the main objective of shifting AP Capital out of Amaravati. The TDP MPs, the Amaravati Capital farmers and other parties have raised their voice against 3 Capitals to attract the attention of this Parliament session. To effectively counter them, CM Jagan Reddy has now asked his party MPs to expose the alleged insider trading in Amaravati Capital City lands.
Following the CM’s latest instruction, the YCP MPs are going to raise the issue of illegal land deals that allegedly took place after the Capital Region Development Authority (CRDA) came up in Amaravati. They are all set to tell the Parliament and thereby the whole country that huge corruption took place in the Amaravati Capital City project in AP.

Most importantly, the YSRCP MPs’ express agenda would be to expose the alleged involvement of the TDP leaders in the Amaravati land deals. On their part, the Amaravati farmers have written to the Prime MInister asking him to pass a resolution in the Parliament in favour of Amaravati as the one and only Capital for AP. The TDP MPs have met the Secretary of Union Home Ministry asking him to take a relook at the affidavits filed in the AP High Court saying that the Centre has no role to play in Capital shifting issue of AP.
