YCP MPs focus on GST funds, Special Status in Parliament

2

The Parliament’s 18-day session is beginning today amid continuing Coronavrius threat, reduced revenue all over the country and bigger financial crisis. AP Chief Minister YS Jaganmohan Reddy has held deliberations with his party MPs to chalk out his party’s agenda on issues to be raised in the Parliament. Specific demands from the YSRCP would be to seek greater GST funds to tide over financial problems and also the long-standing special status promise.

YCP Floor Leader in Lok Sabha Mithun Reddy and other MPs took part in the later online discussions held with the Chief Minister. Andhra Pradesh has been struggling for reduced revenue within the State due to Coronavirus lockdowns and also decreased funds from the Centre. It has been decided to seek greater assistance from the Centre on funds under various developmental programmes at the national level. At the same time, AP Government has been facing funds crisis in respect of the Polavaram lifeline irrigation project of the State.

Already, CM Jagan Reddy has said repeatedly that regardless of the reactions from the Centre, the State Government would continue to plead for the Special Category Status at every given opportunity. Once again, the YSRCP MPs have discussed this. If there is a chance, the subject will come up once again.
There has been a rising demand from the Opposition parties on the YSRCP Government to use its MPs strength to bring pressure on the Centre and get Special Category Status so that most of the problems of the unjustly divided AP would be solved.

Roja rides bike ambulances, draws criticism

4

Nagari MLA RK Roja created a sensation by riding a bike ambulance on the occasion of launch of two such vehicles in her assembly constituency. These bikes were donated by the Hero Motors company located at Sri City SEZ in Chittoor district. As the YSRCP cadres were making Roja photos riding a bike ambulance viral on social media, the rival TDP leaders issued a strong counter.

The Opposition party leaders claimed that years ago, the TDP introduced bike ambulances in considerable numbers in tribal areas. Chandrababu Naidu took special interest in reaching medical care to remote corners in agency areas. The bike ambulances were made good use of for that in the TDP regime but now they were not to be seen much in those places. Lack of commitment on the part of the ruling party was causing disruptions.

Meanwhile, TDP MLA Adireddy Bhavani’s husband Srinivas gave a strong counter to Roja saying that the bike ambulances were used a long time back by Bhavani Charitable Trust. This was nothing new. Roja should stop making a big show now as if these bike ambulances were a latest innovation under their party regime.
It has become a routine for the YSRCP to highlight old programmes as achievements of their own while the TDP immediately condemned the same by claiming real credit for their previous regime. Like in the case of Ease of Doing Business, bike ambulances, etc.

Some YSRCP activists assaulted the TDP activist.

Rajya Sabha member Vijayasai Reddy played a key role in Ramesh Babu joining the YSRCP.

Finally, big relief for Atchannaidu

The High Court on Friday granted bail to former minister and MLA K. Atchannaidu who was arrested in the alleged involvement in ESI scam

The former TDP minister was arrested on June 12 for alleged irregularities in the procurement of equipment and services for ESI hospitals across the State. Atchannaidu is currently getting treated for Covid-19 at NRI Hospital in Mangalagiri.

Cases were booked under the Prevention of Corruption Act, 1988, Prevention of Corruption (Amendment) Act, 2018 and Sections 409, 420 and 120-B of the Indian Penal Code. Till now, the Anti-Corruption Bureau has failed to submit enough evidence against Atchannaidu of having received any money in the ESI scam.

Earlier, the Anti-Corruption Bureau court on had turned down the bail plea of TDP leader Atchannaidu after Supreme Court senior lawyer Luthra, representing his client Atchnnaidu, has filed the bail petition. Sidharth Luthra argued that Atchannaidu be allowed in a private hospital as he has not completely recovered from the second surgery. The lawyer contended that Atchannaidu needed better medical attention after he underwent a second surgery in the Guntur General Hospital. However, the ACB apprehending that Atchannaidu could tamper with the evidence has rejected the bail petition.

On July 2, a petition was filed in the Andhra Pradesh High Court to shift Atchannaidu from Vijayawada sub-jail to the Guntur General Hospital. The petitioner, P Venkatesh, argued that the YSRCP government in an act of political vendetta has exerted pressure on the Guntur General Hospital management in discharging Atchannaidu from the hospital and shifted him to Vijayawada sub-jail. On July 1, Atchannaidu was discharged from the Guntur General Hospital and was shifted to Vijayawada sub-jail. Atchnnaidu was shifted to the Vijayawada sub-jail after the ACB sleuths had completed its interrogation in the Guntur General Hospital.

Atchnnaidu had also written to the superintendent of Guntur General Hospital that he be discharged from the hospital after his complete recovery. Further, Atchnnaidu in his letter to the superintendent noted that certain medical reports were still pending.

It may be noted that Atchannaidu was arrested on June 12 in an early morning swoop from his residence in Tekkali in Srikakulam district. Around 300 police personnel circled Atchannaidu’s residence, some of them even scaled the compound wall, barged in and arrested. The TDP leader at the time of arrest underwent piles surgery.
Despite the surgery, the TDP leader was made to travel more than 500 kms from his home town to Guntur and forced to sit in a car for over 15 hours. Atchannaidu was arrested in the ESI scam that relates to the purchase of drugs, medicines, medical kits and furniture.

The Vigilance and Enforcement directorate found irregularities in the procurement of drugs, medicines and medical kits. However, Vigilance and Enforcement directorate in its report named three directors of IMS, but Atchnnaidu’s name was not mentioned in the report.

YCP Minister feigns ignorance of gambling in his village

The police raid on a ruling YCP Minister’s village created a sensation in Andhra Pradesh. The police went in mufti clothes while the local gambling organisers attacked them with chilli powder. As this has created a big controversy, Labour Minister Gummanur Jayaram asserted that he has no role behind the gambling activities in his own village.

As some of the policemen were injured in the attacks, the department took it very seriously. The raids were made at Gummanur in Kurnool district following a tip off that large scale gambling was going on. Gamblers and influential persons from different parts in Kurnool district were coming there regularly. This has led to eventual raids.

Because of the local people’s revolt against the police, several persons were arrested. However, some of the close followers of the Minister were allegedly released following top level pressure.

Lot of criticism was coming up amid doubts of how large scale gambling with hundreds of people could be organised in a Minister’s own village without his knowledge and permission.

TDP or YSRCP or BJP, which is on ventilator support?

10

It is not unusual to dismiss a political party as something on a deathbed in the first two to three years after an election defeat. The same is happening with the Telugu Desam Party now. CM Jaganmohan Reddy’s strong arm and aggressive attacks are creating an impression that the very existence of TDP is under threat. Coupled with this, the ruling BJP at the Centre is extending indirect support. There is no doubt that it is going to be the test of his lifetime for Chandrababu Naidu.

At the same time, it has become a routine for some critics to say that Naidu is ageing while his son Lokesh has no leadership skills. They are not however explaining what sort of skills that Lokesh is lacking in. Some others are saying that currently Andhra Pradesh is suffering from a political vacuum. Within just 15 months of coming to power, CM Jagan Reddy has attracted some attention with his welfare schemes but has failed to raise hopes on the development front. There are also allegations about a multiplicity of corruption scams. Jagan Reddy’s multiple capitals have also triggered widespread criticism. Already, the Opposition is challenging the CM to resign and seek a fresh mandate on his 3 Capitals plan.

Analysts say that no political party is gaining the confidence of the vast majority of the population as of now in AP. There is no election round the corner right now. Yet, many are talking about the future of different political parties. The BJP, which got less than 1 per cent vote share, has ruled itself out from the power race by ignoring Special Status and Capital issues. The TDP is facing a big threat from CM Jagan. At the same time, the YCP is facing unprecedented criticism on social media which is an indication of rising disappointment about its policies especially on liquor and sand.

Can RRR be defeated by a YCP Grama Volunteer?

3

These days, YSRCP MLAs and Ministers are on a single point agenda to attack, humiliate and threaten rebellious MP Raghu Rama Raju (RRR). Ruling party Tanuku MLA Karumuri Nageswara Rao is now challenging RRR to seek fresh mandate from the people. The MLA threatened that their party would put up a Grama Volunteer to defeat Rajugaru. With each passing day, the more RRR is questioning the Government on sand crisis, Corona cases, Amaravati, etc, the uglier the attacks being launched by the YSRCP leaders.

While RRR is making issue-based criticism, the ruling party MLAs and Ministers are making direct, personal attacks and issuing challenges on this, that and everything else except the burning issues like facilities at quarantine facilities and hospital beds for infected patients. Now, the question is what makes the YCP MLAs so bold to challenge RRR to contest against a Grama Volunteer. Everybody knows that Grama Volunteer is at the lowest rung in village administration without any secure job conditions. In the past, politicians used to challenge rivals to contest and win a ward. Nowadays, the scene has changed that they are threatening to put up a Grama Volunteer and defeat their rivals.

On his part, RRR is still maintaining that he won on his own strengths but not solely depending on CM Jagan Reddy’s image. Then, why is Rajugaru not accepting YCP’s challenge to seek a fresh mandate? Analysts say that already, RRR had to take Central forces’ protection following police cases filed by YCP MLAs. It is enough to say how YCP would create such conditions that Rajugaru would not be able to enter his constituency in the event of an election. Engaging a CM like Jagan Reddy in an election would not be as easy as criticising him in a TV debate. RRR may have the blessings of some top BJP leaders, but at the same time the same top BJP leaders were also the secret strengths of AP CM in some ways.

0

YCP’s Education Minister Adimulapu Suresh has contracted Coronavirus infection and he has been undergoing home isolation. He is the second minister from Prakasam district to become an infection patient. Already, Balineni Srinivasulu Reddy fell sick with the virus and he recovered fully later. The latest test was conducted on Suresh also following symptoms of the virus. At the advice of the doctors, the Minister preferred to take treatment while staying at home.

Only yesterday, YSRCP Narasaraopeta MLA tested positive and preferred home quarantine. With the continuing rise in infections, the ruling party leaders and activists are falling victim because of their need for regular interaction with the people.

As Minister Suresh got the infection now, the officials were identifying all those who came in contact with the Minister in the past few weeks. In the beginning of the epidemic also, there were reports that the Minister frequently travelled between Andhra Pradesh and Hyderabad. His family members were still staying in Telangana Capital.

The list of the YSRCP Ministers, MPs and MLAs so far infected are as follows:

1. MP Vijayasai Reddy
2. Deputy Chief Minister Amjad Bhasha
3. Minister Balineni Srinivasa Reddy
4. Minister Adimulapu Suresh (Yerragondapalem)

RRR’s indirect attack on Jagan Govt on Vizag Capital

2

The Jaganmohan Reddy government is hell bent on making Kapuluppada on the outskirts of Visakhapatnam the centre of the State future administrative Capital. But, rebel MP Raghu Rama Raju (RRR) gave a new twist to this. He says Kapuluppada is heritage place with the presence of historical structures there. It’s located nearest to the Thotlakonda Buddharamam. Hence, the Central Government should declare and include Kapuluppada in the list of the country’s heritage sites.

Rajugaru is further demanding that all efforts should be made to protect Kapuluppada from destruction. It’s clear that the unstoppable MP is making indirect attacks on the Jagan Reddy regime. RRR has even written a letter to the Union Ministry of Culture to protect and preserve the Buddhist heritage place.

The MP wrote another letter to CM Jagan saying that the schools should not be reopened on September 5 considering the rising Coronavirus threat. RRR says the children are very vulnerable and it would be very difficult to enforce social distancing in schools. The parents’ opinions should be taken into consideration before taking a final decision on this. It’s well known that each day nearly 10,000 Covid are being reported in AP.

YSRCP vendetta: Rayapati Mamtha summoned for Swarna Palace fire

3

After former minister and TDP deputy floor leader in the state Assembly K Atchannaidu, Ayanna Patrudu and a host of other TDP leaders, the YSRCP government is now targeting the family of Guntur strongman Rayapati Sambasiva Rao.

In the politics of vendetta, the Jagan government turned its guns on Rayapati Mamatha, daughter-in-law of Rayapati Sambasiva Rao. Her only fault is she is the chief operating officer of Ramesh Hospitals which was recently in news for the fire mishap in Swarna Palace that has left at least 10 Covid-19 patients dead and 18 seriously injured. Ramesh Hospitals was using the Swarna Palace hotel as a COVID Care Centre.

The Vijayawada police on Friday served notices to Rayapati Mamatha to appear for questioning on the Swarna Palace for the fire accident. It is learnt that Rayapati Mamatha, a medical doctor, was recently tested positive for Covid-19 and is in home isolation. Despite this, the police summoned Rayapati Mamatha for questioning.

Sambasiva Rao is a four time TDP MP. He was elected to 11th, 12th, 14th, 15th and 16th Lok Sabha. Currently, Sambasiva Rao
is facing CBI probe pertaining to Rayapati’s company Transtroy over defaulting on bank loans.

Rayapati Mamatha will appear before the Vijayawada police. The notices to Rayapati Mamatha is seen as another classic case of vindictive politics unleashed the Jagan government to arm twist the TDP leaders and family members. This comes at a time even as the top management of the hospital, including the founder and Managing Director (MD) of Ramesh Hospitals Dr Ramesh Babu, are absconding and untraceable.

Lasr week, a four-member team was formed to nab the managing director of the hospital, but to no avail. Since the MD of the hospital and other top management officials are on the run, Rayapati Mamatha became an easy and a new target for the YSRCP government to further its politics of vendetta.

Minister Balineni tests Covid +ve, joins Hyderabad Apollo

1

YSRCP Minister Balineni Srinivasa Reddy tested positive for Coronavirus and got admitted to the Apollo Hospital in Hyderabad. He underwent tests as his fever did not go down for over a week. Though the first report showed his case as negative, the doctors conducted test again because of his continuing fever. He eventually tested Covid positive. Already, MP Vijayasai Reddy was taking Covid treatment at Hyderabad Apollo. All his engagements in Visakhapatnam have been cancelled ever since. His office in the port city was also closed down for the time being.

Along with Minister Balineni Reddy, many other leaders from Prakasam district were down with the virus. Senior MLA Karanam Balarama Krishna Murthy tested positive and was admitted to a private hospital in Hyderabad. His family members also got virus infection but they were in home quarantine. Another YSRCP MLA along with his wife was also infected. They were receiving treatment in a private hospital in Ongole town.

The ruling party MLAs and people’s representatives were getting affected because of their continued public appearances in rallies, meetings and campaign for local body polls. With top leaders and MLAs testing positive, this has created concerns among the people. The doctors and medical staff were already under higher threat. The political leaders were also coming under greater threat these days. The authorities were appealing for avoiding crowd-based activities, group meetings and strictly observe physical distancing at any cost.

CBI questioning Sunita in her father Viveka murder case

2

For a second time, the Central Bureau of Investigation is questioning Sunita, daughter YS Vivekananda Reddy. The CBI officials are conducting their probe from Kadapa district headquarters. They are asking Sunita some more questions at Kadapa Central Jail guest house. Her charges gained significance in the murder in view of the disappearance of evidence from the crime scene. Viveka’s death was first described as due to a heart attack in the Sakshi media. But, the version was changed to a murder plot following the police investigation.

As Viveka was a former MP and brother of former Chief Minister YS Rajasekhar Reddy, the case assumed greater significance. After the YSRCP came to power, the AP government did not make much progress in the case. Several special investigation teams have been formed but there has been no clue to the actual persons responsible for the murder. The assailants murdered Viveka in his own house in a gruesome manner. Later, the body was given bandages. The evidence at the scene was tampered with. Sunita has charged some top persons with resorting to this murder and demanded a CBI inquriy into it.

The Viveka murder case is creating a political storm once again as the CBI enquiry is gaging speed. There are also reports that the CBI officials are going to question YSRCP Kadapa MP YS Avinash Reddy sooner or later.

RRR bombshell: YCP used Corona to cause Kishore’s death

YSRCP rebel MP Raghu Rama Raju (RRR) is unstoppable. He is attacking the Jagan Reddy regime at every little opportunity. Not a day passes without Mr. Raju unleashing his attacks on YSRCP on one subject or the other. Now, he made an alarming comment, saying that Visakhapatnam-based social media activist, Nalanda Kishore, died only because of the conspiracy of the YSRCP government and the police. The YSRCP MP says that Kishore was taken out of Vizag and ill-treated very badly. Not only that, Kishore was put in a Coronavirus ward where infected patients were receiving treatment.

True to RRR’s comment, the 65-year-old activist died while receiving treatment for fever and other symptoms in a hospital in port city. The opposition blamed the government for ‘causing’ the death by activist to harassment and mental torture. It was only because of the false cases filed by the police that Kishore took it to his heart and succumbed. The false cases were filed just for filing some posts on social media. Though an elderly person, Kishore was arbitrarily arrested and taken by road through many districts for hundreds of kilometres. He was facing a greater threat from virus infections because of his age but the police did not care about this.

On his part, Rajugaru said it was clear Kishore died due to Coronavirus and mental torture. There is no freedom of expression in Andhra Pradesh. All dissenting voices are being silenced in an oppressive way.

Ganta Srinivas preparing ground to join YSRCP

0

Is Ganta Srinivas bidding adieu to TDP? Sources said Ganta is preparing ground to jump the TDP ship to sail with the YSRCP. Apparently, Chief Minister Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy also seems to be inclined to allow Ganta into his party fold. Ganta was reportedly in touch with the party leaders. He is also likely to meet Jagan Mohan Reddy to formally wear the YSRCP ‘kanduva’. It is also learnt that Ganta expressed his willingness to join the YSRPC and held consultations with Jagan Mohan Reddy in this regard. Further, Ganta is likely to join the YSRCP on August 15 when Jagan Mohan Reddy will begin the distribution of house sites to the poor.

However, it is also learnt that Ganta’s joining the YSRCP was being blocked by Rajya Sabha MP and tourism minister Avanthi Srinivas. The three leaders have locked horns over several issues, including corruption charges and arrest of TDP leaders by the Andhra Pradesh government.

Both Ganta Srinivas and Avanthi Srinivas go a long way. Both travelled together in their political journey. Both were ‘friends’ in Chiranjeevi’s Praja Rajyam Party (now defunct), TDP and the Congress.

However, both the leaders have not been seeing eye-to-eye for a long time now. Matters between them precipitated after Ganta was keen on contesting from Bheemunipatnam Assembly constituency. Avanti won the seat in 2009 on a PRP ticket. Ahead of 2014 polls, the two jumped the PRP boat to sail with the TDP. While Ganta was asked to contest from Bheemunipatnam, Avanti was given the Anakapalli Lok Sabha seat. Although Avanti won from Anakapalle, his heart was always close to Bhimili as several of his educational institutions are centered.

Recently, Avanti also commented that Ganta will be the next in line to be arrested after TDP leader Atchannaidu and a host of other leaders.

It is not just Avanthi Srinivas, Ganta also ruffled the feathers of Rajya Sabha MP Vijaysai Reddy by seeking a SIT investigation into the land scam in Visakhapatnam. He had also written to Jagan Mohan Reddy in this regard. In a retort, Vijayasai Reddy accused Ganta of corruption in the distribution of free cycles during the TDP regime. In a tweet, Vijaysai Reddy alleged that corruption had taken place to the tune of Rs 5 crore in the purchase of cycles for Rs 12 crore.

Ramesh Kumar paid crores to judges: Srikanth Reddy

After YSRCP Lok Sabha member Nandigam Suresh and party leader and former MLA Amanchi Krishna Mohan, the ruling party’s chief whip Gadikota Srikanth Reddy made scandalous comments against the Andhra Pradesh High Court judges over the reinstatement of Ramesh Kumar as State Election Commissioner.

The Andhra Pradesh government chief whip attributed motives to the court stating that former chief minister and TDP president N Chandrababu Naidu had been managing the High Court.

“Who is paying crores of rupees by the hour to the judges? Is it not Chandrababu Naidu. Is it not true that the TDP had been funding Ramesh Kumar with crores of rupees to pay off judges,” he asked. The comments of the chief whip come in the wake of the HC order reinstating Ramesh Kumar as the SEC. The HC directed Ramesh Kumar to submit a memorandum to Governor Bishwabhushan Harichandan stating that the Governor has powers to reinstate him. Following which, Ramesh Kumar met the Governor and submitted a memorandum appealing to him to direct the government to reinstate him.

Obviously, miffed at the reinstatement of Ramesh Kumar, Srikanth Reddy made remarks that are contemptuous in nature. He alleged that Ramesh Kumar was bribing the judges to get the verdicts in his favour. The money was being sponsored by the TDP and its president Chandrababu Naidu.

This is not the first that the YSRCP leaders made comments that tend to undermine people’s confidence in administration of justice, bring or tend to bring the court and judges into disrepute and disrespect.

On May 20, the High Court had initiated contempt proceedings against 49 individuals, including YSR Congress Lok Sabha member Nandigam Suresh and party leader Amanchi Krishna Mohan for attributing motives to judges and lowering the dignity of the High Court. Both the YSRCP leaders made serious allegations against sitting judges of the High Court which amounts to interference with administration of justice.

At a press briefing, the Bapatla MP attributed motives to the court stating that Chandrababu Naidu was managing courts. “Chandrababu Naidu seems to know the High Court verdict 10 minutes in advance. Chandrababu’s call list should be examined to verify if he is involved in the judgement process.”

YSRCP leader and former Chirala MLA Amanchi Krishna Mohan found fault with the High Court directive to the CBI to probe the police highhandedness against Dr Sudhakar Rao. “It’s a petty case. For every petty case, a CBI investigation should not be ordered. The High Court ordering a CBI probe has surprised everyone in the state,” he said. He didn’t stop there. Fuming at the HC directive, the YSRCP leader further said people will lose faith in the courts with such directives. The YSRCP leader had remarked that he would have launched an agitation against the court directive but for the lockdown. “If every petty is handed over to the CBI, then the central government should set up a CBI office attached to all the police stations in the state,” he had stated.

YCP may not challenge Governor’s direction, says RRR

0

YSRCP rebel MP Raghu Rama Raju is currently staying safe in Delhi. His own party Ministers and MLAs have filed cases in his own Narasapuram Lok Sabha constituency. So, he is feeling a life threat in Andhra Pradesh and meeting each and every VIP from the President to the Union Ministers seeking security by the Central agencies. Now, RRR has broadened his attack against the Jagan Reddy regime. He is complaining to the Central Ministers about the Constitutional violations being committed in AP. Mr. Raju says that this time, the YCP regime may not challenge the AP Governor’s directions to reinstate Nimmagadda Ramesh Kumar as State Election Commissioner.

Rajugari observation may be correct since the CM may directly confront with the High Court but he cannot afford to go against the instructions of the Governor also. But analysts say that the government may not challenge the Governor but yet it may use the pretext of having approached the Supreme Court on the issue. In all likelihood, there is going to be a Constitutional crisis in this particular instance. It is well known Jagan Reddy was hell bent on not seeing Ramesh Kumar again as SEC. Given his style of administration in the past 14 months, the CM will stick to his stand. He will certainly use all the loopholes in the systems and the laws to drag the issue for a few more months by which Ramesh Kumar term ends.

But, as RRR says, the big question is how the Governor, the RSS and the BJP national leadership will take if Jagan Reddy continues to worsen the Constitutional crisis. Considering his CBI cases, can the young and adamant CM afford to confront the ruling party power centres at the Centre?

Deputy CM post for North Coastal AP: Jagan blessings

1

The cup of love and affection is overflowing, no doubt. In the current Cabinet expansion, North Coastal Andhra is expected to get yet another Deputy Chief Minister post. This is because Pilli Subhaschandra Bose has resigned to the DCP post and became a member of Rajya Sabha. Official party circles say that this time, the vacant DCP post may be given to North Coastal districts. Already, there is DCM Pamula Pushpa Sreevani who represents Kurupam ST segment in Vizianagaram district.

The Chief Minister’s growing liking for North Coastal Andhra is no secret. Especially, these are the most historically shaking times considering the government’s move to shift Capital amid toughest challenges. At such a time, some dissenting voices were also heard from Visakhapatnam and other places there that the local people would like to live a peaceful life. They were more interested in industrial development rather than being closer to Capital. Moreover, the alleged land scams and grabbings by the Pulivendula gangs and ruling party followers have also triggered widespread concerns there.

Now, the rumour is that Dharmana Krishna Das of Srikakulam district will be made Deputy CM in the vacancy left by Subhaschandra Bose. It is likely since Krishna Das is also a senior leader just like Bose. Moreover, Krishna Das hails from the BC community and brother of former finance minister Dharmana Prasada Rao.

Whatever, out of the five DCM posts, two Deputy Chief Ministers will hail from the three districts in the north coastal Andhra if the rumours come true. The remaining 10 districts will have three DCMs.

Life threat: Raghu Rama Raju loses all hopes on Jagan rule

1

YCP rebel MP Raghu Rama Raju is a worried man these days. He thought the situation would improve if he took his problems to the notice of Central Government. But there is no relief till now. It was nearly 20 days ago that Mr. Raju met Union Home Secretary in Delhi and pleaded for security to him with Central forces during his visits to Andhra Pradesh. There has been no action in this regard. On the other hand, back home in AP, the political victimization from YCP has gone up several folds.

Once again, RRR met the Union Home Secretary and the Central officials to strongly plead for the Central security for him. He told them how the YCP Ministers and MLAs themselves were filing cases in police stations against him. This was making his situation very difficult and he was not being able to visit his Narasapuram constituency. In a vibrant democracy like India, it would be unimaginable that an MP is facing a life threat and is not able to visit his constituents.

Raghu Rama told the Centre that when the State Government concerned was not responding, it was the duty of the Centre to provide security to a Member of Parliament. Mr. Raju affirmatively said that he no longer has any hope on the Jagan Reddy government in Andhra Pradesh. Though he complained to the Centre, the YCP MLAs were not changing their mindset but started filing false cases in order to threaten him. RRR asserted that it is the disqualification request made by Vijayasai, Mithun Reddy, etc which should be disqualified but not his membership of Lok Sabha.

CM Jagan betrayed unemployed youth, says Kala

4

TDP AP President K Kala Venkatrao has flayed the YCP Government for ‘breaking the back’ of unemployed youth in the state instead of creating job opportunities for them by encouraging industry, trade and business. He recalled that CM Jaganmohan Reddy made huge promises to create jobs by bringing Special Category Status but after coming to power, he has fallen silent on that.

The TDP leader mockingly said that the CM promised to release a ‘job calendar’ every January but in his first one year rule itself, Jagan Reddy became responsible for removal of 3 lakh jobs. Also, a new conspiracy was being hatched to remove the outsourcing and contract jobs. This Chief Minister could not give one single permanent job to any unemployed youth in the last 14 months of his rule.

Mr. Venkatrao pointed out that not a single industry has come in the last one year nor there were any efforts to bring investments. Instead, the ruling party’s anti-industry policies were driving away investors. The candidates, who were spending lakhs of rupees for preparations for competitive exams, were also let down as no job notifications were being given. The skill development centres opened by the previous TDP regime were closed down all over the state.

The TDP senior leader termed it as unfortunate that the ruling party Ministers and leaders were looting all resources and filling their pockets while the unemployed youth and general public were suffering greatly due to lack of incomes. Jagan Reddy would go down in history as a betrayer of unemployed youth. The CM was apparently thinking that it was enough to give his partymen and sympathisers jobs as advisors at high salaries at the cost of ordinary job-seekers across the state.

Mr. Venkatrao asked what happened to Jagan Reddy’s roaring statement that he would make the Central Government bow its head and give Special Category Status for Andhra Pradesh. By cancelling the unemployment allowance, the CM has removed the food from the mouths of lakhs of youth. The AP youth were preparing to rise in rebellion against the Jagan Reddy Government’s anti-people policies. The same youth, who said ‘Ravali Jagan Kavali Jagan’, were now saying ‘Povali Jagan’ (Jagan must go).
