Director Nelson Dilipkumar has penned a heartfelt letter, thanking actor Vijay for hosting a dinner party for the entire team of ‘Beast’.

Taking to Instagram on Monday, Nelson said, “Thank you Vijay sir for hosting us. It was a fun-filled and memorable evening with the whole team.

“I take this moment to thank Vijay sir for his love and support. You were a charm to work with sir. I am truly honored and I shall cherish this experience for life. Your charisma and super stardom has taken this film all the way sir.

“Thank you Sun Pictures Kalanithi Maran, Kavya Maran for the huge opportunity and bringing this film together.

“All of this would not have been possible without our wonderful cast & crew. You guys were a blast to work with.

“I would like to extend my heartfelt gratitude to all the audience for breaking barriers and showering us with love and support. As always, you all have stood with Vijay sir and the whole team and made this film a grand success. Cheers!”

Baahubali franchise paved path for a pan-Indian release erasing the barriers of language. Several South films headed for a pan-Indian release but the real fact is that the audience are not ready to watch every big-budget film or periodic dramas from other languages. Movies like Syeraa proved it. Vijay’s Beast that released this week ended up as a disaster. Pawan Kalyan’s Bheemla Nayak is finding tough to find the right release date in North Indian theatres. The producers are spending lavishly on the dubbing work and they are releasing the films in other languages after the lead actors are insisting.

Pan-indian release is a huge stress for filmmakers as most of them are not even recovering the digital expenses. There are several distributors who are ready to release the films of South Indian stars but they are not ready to take the risks. The producers have to bear the digital charges and this is costing a bomb. With RRR and KGF: Chapter 2 emerging as super hits, there would be more and more films heading for pan-Indian release.

Though the North Indian audience love to watch the films of several actors on the small screen, they are not really interested to watch the films of these stars on the big screen. This has been proved several times in the past but the actors are forcing the filmmakers to head for a pan-Indian release which is bringing a lot of financial stress on the makers. Salaar, Pushpa: The Rule and Liger would be the biggest pan-Indian attempts from Tollywood in the future.

Vijay’s recent offering Beast competed with Yash’s KGF: Chapter 2 and the films released on Wednesday and Thursday respectively. Beast opened well in South India but the poor word of mouth could not make the film stand strong. The film is declared as a disaster in North India. KGF: Chapter 2 released on Thursday and Beast lost traces in most of the territories of the country. KGF: Chapter 2 showed pure dominance in North India, Telugu states, Karnataka and Kerala. The distributors of Beast had to hold a major number of screens in Tamil Nadu considering the big bet and the image of Vijay. Most of them predicted that Beast would have a terrific run in Tamil Nadu and there would be no impact of KGF: Chapter 2.

After KGF: Chapter 2 received a humongous response, the film turned out to be the first choice for the audience even in Tamil Nadu. The 3 AM shows for KGF: Chapter 2 are sold out while the evening shows of Beast are running with low footfalls. The exhibitors across Tamil Nadu are now replacing Beast with KGF: Chapter 2 and the film is expected to enjoy a decent run starting from today. Beast dropped down on its second day in Tamil Nadu and the day three numbers are quite low. KGF: Chapter 2 is dominating Beast even in Tamil Nadu.

KGF: Chapter 2 is even having a dream run across overseas and almost all the shows are sold out. The film had a stupendous second day all over.

‘Beast,’ starring Vijay and Pooja Hegde was released on Wednesday. Pooja Hegde, who has become one of the most popular heroines in recent times, has appeared in a role that is essentially an extended cameo.

Apart from one song in the first half, she doesn’t have much of an impact, which has upset her slowly increasing fandom.

Starring Vijay as the lead, Pooja’s role in Nelson Dilipkumar’s directorial seems to be disappointing to the viewers.

“Nobody would have recognised her if it hadn’t been for the two songs released prior to the film’s release. This is disappointing at many levels”, one of her fans said at one of the theatres in Hyderabad, on Wednesday.

Star actresses are downgraded to only making cameo appearances in songs in superstar films, which seems to have changed in recent movies. However, in ‘Beast,’ Pooja Hegde played a silly role with no significance to the story, which changes the perspective that heroines are given equal importance in big-budget films starring popular heroes.

Pooja Hegde, who had appeared in super hit movies like ‘Maharshi’, ‘DJ-Duvvada Jagannadham’, ‘Aravinda Sametha Veera Raghava’, ‘Ala Vaikunthapuramloo’, has been in limelight for a long time now.

“Pooja is like a lucky charm to the film industry. ‘DJ- Duvvada Jagannadham’, ‘Maharshi’, ‘Ala Vaikunthapuramu Loo’, ‘Aravinda Sametha’, all of these movies were super hits because Pooja stepped in. Pooja! I want your dates”, Dil Raju said.

Dil Raju compares Pooja to a famous regional sweet ‘Kaja’, which has grabbed much attention. While some netizens commented that it was insensitive to objectify an actress, some of them enjoyed his comments. At the same time, his speech was assumed to be witty, by many others.

Tamil hero Thalapathy Vijay and Pooja Hegde’s ‘Beast’ is gearing up for its grand release soon. Director Nelson Dilip Kumar, who is excited about the forthcoming release, reveals the reason behind roping in Pooja Hegde for the role.

The writer-director of Tamil’s much-awaited movie ‘Beast’ states that he envisioned that Pooja Hegde would not only spark great chemistry with the star but also would emerge as the perfect fit for the part in the movie.

In an exclusive interaction, Nelson Dilipkumar said, “When we were finalizing the cast for ‘Beast’, ‘Ala Vaikunthapurramuloo’ had also just released. In that movie, Pooja had done a fabulous job and won hearts nationally. I wanted a pairing that would be new and fresh, someone who has never worked with Vijay sir.”

Nelson also stated that Pooja had worked hard for the role in ‘Beast’, even though Tamil is not her native language. “She learned the language and spoke her lines”, Nelson Dilipkumar conveyed.

Beast is written and directed by Nelson Dilipkumar and is produced by Sun Pictures. The music of the film is composed by Anirudh Ravichander.

Starring Thalapathy Vijay, Pooja Hegde, Selvaraghavan, Yogi Babu, Lilliput Faruqui, and Ankur Ajit Vikal, the much-awaited movie ‘Beast’ releases on April 13.

It will be released by UFO Moviez in Hindi, Tamil and Telugu on the same day across north India.

‘Beast’ trailer garners whopping 24 million views in 18 hours

The trailer of director Nelson Dilipkumar’s explosive action thriller ‘Beast’ which was released on Saturday evening has garnered a massive 24 million views in less than 18 hours of having been released on YouTube.

On Saturday evening, the makers of the film released a trailer of the much-awaited action thriller that showed Vijay playing a character called Vijayaraghavan inside a mall that it is taken seige by terrorists.

The trailer triggered huge excitement among fans who gathered outside theatres to watch it on the giant screen. The trailer, which was sharply released by the makers at 6 in the evening, garnered a whopping 2 million views in a matter of just 15 minutes flat. Over 2,60,000 people gave the thumbs up to the trailer in the first 15 minutes.

The numbers only seemed to steadily grow from there. By noon on Sunday, the trailer had got a whopping 24.85 million views with over two million people liking the trailer.

The trailer shows terrorists taking seige of a mall called the East Coast Mall. The government appoints a negotiator (Selvaraghavan), who is relieved to know that an Indian soldier called Veeraraghavan (Vijay), considered to be among the best of spies, is inside the mall. The trailer gives a glimpse into the action sequences the film has in store for us.

The film, which has Pooja Hegde playing the female lead, is scheduled to hit screens on April 13.
