Natural Star Nani is owned by the Telugu audience and the actor delivered a series of super hits with simple scripts. Films like MCA and Nenu Local are carried by the actor completely. After he cemented his place in Telugu cinema, Nani decided to pick up challenging roles and experiments. Though some of them received critical acclaim, the actor failed to deliver a solid hit in theatres. Shyam Singha Roy ended up as a decent grosser in the recent years for Nani. The actor’s next film Dasara is a pan-Indian attempt and is releasing this week. The expectations are high after the trailer is out.

Nani is promoting the film all over and he needs to deliver a solid hit for sure. The non-theatrical market of Nani kept rising but the theatrical market of the actor hasn’t seen a rise. Dasara would be a crucial one for Nani as an actor. Dil Raju is distributing the film across the Telugu states. Though none of his recent films touched Rs 30 crore mark in theatres, the theatrical rights of Dasara are sold for Rs 30 crores. Srikanth Odela is making his debut as director and Keerthy Suresh is the leading lady. Sudhakar Cherukuri’s SLV Cinemas are the producers.

Actor Nani, who is busy in promoting his first ever pan India film ‘Dasara’, recently visited the Capital and talked about his film and how much he enjoyed travelling to different cities.

“I really enjoyed exploring new places and travelling to new cities where I had never been before. I am getting butterflies in my stomach and am nervous also.”

On what his expectations are from the film he said: “As an actor I have worked hard as I do with all my films as I never take the audience for granted and always keep myself at their place whenever I take up any project.”

“If I do anything with honesty and give my hundred percent I am sure the result will be positive,” he added.

While sharing the reason why he called it a mass film, he said: “This is the first mass film which will touch your heart. We should call it a heart warming mass film, a combination very rare to be found.”

“Whenever you see a mass movement and think of whistling, at the same place there is a glitter also in your eyes. I think this combination we generally miss and that is why we call it mass film.”

Tollywood actor Nani starrer ‘Dasara’ will be his first pan-India project and the team has been sparing no effort to make it stand out.

Interestingly, the film’s writer and director Srikanth Odela brought expert detailing to the sets and its intricacies since his father was a worker in the Singareni coal mines, lending an extra layer of authenticity to the story and the visuals.

A massive set spread across 25 acres was built, recreating the world of coal mining. Close to 300 junior actors apart from the primary and supporting cast were present on the set every day and at times over 2000 artists and technicians filled the set on crucial days. The film was shot across 120 days amidst the dust and grime, with most days clocking in a 24-hour schedule.

Additionally an entire village set was also created complete with all amenities for those working on the film. If that wasn’t all, an elaborate train track was also built on the set through which trains would run, creating an entire world just for ‘Dasara’ across these 25 acres.

Director Srikanth Odela says, “I envisioned ‘Dasara’ to be raw and real and we are so happy to bring that authenticity to audiences across the country. A massive set was constructed from scratch with a coal mine setup, a village setup, a railroad and thousands of artists and technicians would be present on our bustling sets for days on end. We had created our own little world for Dasara, so as to offer audiences an unforgettable cinematic experience.”

‘Dasara’ takes audiences through the socio economic condition, political ambition and power struggle of the Singareni collieries. Stepping into the shoes of Dharani, a hustler driven by his ambition and love, South superstar Nani in this action-packed entertainer grapples with the village’s best kept secrets.

Nani-Keerthy Suresh’s action thriller Dasara is gearing up for release on the 30th of this month. The thriller drama has got the highest number of censor cuts. The Central Board of Film Certification has given U/A with 36 cuts. This is the first ever for Telugu cinema. The film is taunted to be the costliest film of Nani.

Board members have not only deleted scenes and dialogues, they have also removed subtitles for certain sequences. Censor Board also asked the makers to increase the font size of ‘alcohol is injurious to health’. Nani is rigorously promoting Dasara. The film will have a pan-India release and is said to have a runtime of 2 hours and 36 minutes. Sudhakar Cherukuri is the producer.

Natural Star Nani is yet to score a solid hit in his career. His last film Shyam Singha Roy did decent business. Thanks to the non-theatrical rights of his films, all the makers of the recent films of Nani made decent profits. Nani is done with Dasara and the actor charged Rs 15 crores for the film. He is currently shooting for an untitled romantic entertainer in the direction of a debutant. The film is made on a strict budget and the shooting portions will be wrapped up in quick schedules.

Nani has hiked his fee once again and he is taking Rs 22 crores home for the film. The makers would still make profits before the release as the film is planned on a tight budget. Wyra Creations are the producers. Mrunal Thakur plays the leading lady in this romantic entertainer. Nani sports a new look and the film will release this year. Soon after this, Nani will once again work with Vivek Athreya and the film will be announced soon.

Natural Nani is busy with back-to-back promotions for his upcoming film Dasara. As part of it Nani talks about working with Trivikram Srinivas and Rajamouli. He said that there are possible chances for Eega2 in Rajamouli’s direction.

Nani expressed his desire to work with star writer cum director Trivikram Srinivas. He also said that once Trivikram discussed a multi-starrer with him, but that was never materialized and hinted about their future collaboration soon. Trivikram is currently working with Mahesh Babu for SSMB28.

Nani is gearing up for Dasara’s release. Dasara is a rustic actioner from Nani with a never-before look of him. Srikanth Odela is debuting as director and Sudhakar Cherukuri is producing Dasara under the banner of Sri Lakshmi Venkateswara Creations.

The actor is all set for the biggest bet with Dasara and the film is hitting the screens on March 30th. During his recent media interaction, Nani said that he would continue experiments and he is not scared about picking them.

“I am not scared about losing. I am not really worried about what I have achieved. I will continue doing experiments and the audience will decide if they are pan-Indian films or Telugu films. I am doing films that are close to my heart and I will do them in the coming days” told Nani. Dasara is a rustic Telangana-based village drama directed by debutant Srikanth Odela.
