KCR family’s total dominance turning mood against TRS?

0

Two and half months ago, the Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) enjoyed a clear edge over the Congress party in rural Telangana as per the survey of former MP Lagadapati Rajagopal. At that time, Rajagopal also predicted TRS likely to get 90 assembly seats in the 119-seat Assembly. But the latest survey of Lagadapati gave a picture of rapid decline in fortunes of the ruling TRS as it predicted victory of nearly 10 independents or rebel candidates.

Lagadapati indicated the mood among voters saying they were not going to be influenced by inducements or bribes of any sort mostly which is why so many independents are standing a chance in this election. Then the question arises why so much change came about in just a matter of two and half months that KCR is facing rough weather now in the face of a possible anti-incumbency factor.

Poll analysts put forward the theory though the TRS government has taken all precautions to safeguard its winning prospects, the dominance of one single family that is of KCR’s has become the party’s disadvantage now. The over confidence of KCR family in occupying all the space in the party’s main activities has triggered silent resentment which may turn against and fuel the anti-incumbency factor.

It is openly criticised by rivals that separate Telangana seemed to have been formed to benefit KCR, his son KTR, his daughter Kavitha and his nephew T. Harish Rao. With these four members occupying important positions, there is no scope for other leaders to grow and assert their image.

KCR’s daughter dares Rahul to support Telangana demands in Parliament

0

Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) MP K. Kavitha on Friday dared Congress president Rahul Gandhi to support their demands in Parliament during the winter session next month.

Reacting to Rahul Gandhi’s speech at an election rally in Nizamabad, the TRS Lok Sabha member from Nizamabad said if Rahul had true love for Telangana, he should back TRS MPs on the issues they plan to raise in Parliament.

Kavitha, who is daughter of TRS president and Telangana Chief Minister K. Chandrashekhar Rao, asked Rahul Gandhi if he would stand with TRS MPs on the demand to pass a bill to increase reservation for Muslims and tribals to 12 per cent each in the state.

She also demanded the Congress president to support Telangana farmers by writing a letter to the Prime Minister for setting up the national turmeric board. She also sought his support in their fight for national status to Kaleshwaram irrigation project.

The TRS MP said Rahul’s love for Telangana was only for the sake of votes. She wondered why he never stood with her in Parliament when she was fighting for the establishment of national turmeric board.

She said the Congress president hardly visited Telangana during last four years.

She said the people of Nizamabad knew very well the development activities in the last four years.

“Rahul needs to know about his constituency Amethi and about development activities there because his constituency has not yet developed,” she said.

Sonia spoke CBN’s words in Telangana, says TRS MP Kavitha

0

The ruling Telangana Rashtra Samithi leaders have hit back strongly at Sonia Gandhi, saying that she had angered people by talking about Andhra issues from a Telangana election platform. TRS MP and KCR daughter Kavitha has taken strong objection to the promises that were made by Sonia Gandhi to AP while addressing the election meeting at Medchal. She appealed to the voters to reject the Congress as Sonia used the Telangana soil to insult its people by taking up issues of rival state.

During her speech, Sonia Gandhi asserted that Manmohan Singh and Rahul Gandhi worked hard to confer statehood on Telangana but the state’s people were suffering all these four and half years because of misgovernance of the TRS. She said Andhra would be given special category status besides fulfilling other promises after the Congress comes back to power at the Centre in 2019. Kavitha accused Congress of telling lies to mislead the people at the time of elections.

Kavitha said that Sonia Gandhi only spoke the words of TDP chief and AP CM Chandrababu Naidu and both the parties joined together in an unholy alliance which would be defeated by TRS in December elections. She asserted the fact that TRS would not have to tell lies and this party would only talk about the issues and rights of Telangana state and its development.

The TRS party’s attack came amid new found upbeat mood in Mahakutami allies after the success of Sonia Gandhi’s public meeting. The forum was effectively used by leaders of TDP, Telangana Jana Samithi and CPI to voice their strong feelings against KCR and his family. TDP leader Ramana and TJS leader Kodandaram have given a call to the people to get rid of KCR regime in December election.

TRS to expel D Srinivas! Anyways he doesn’t count– MP Kavitha

0

Since past few months, TRS leaders from Nizamabad district have been quite anti against former APCC Chief, and current TRS party member D Srinivas. Things have gone from bad to worse after D Srinivas distanced himself strategically from the party after his son joined BJP in September 2017. The Nizamabad district TRS leaders have taken this issue to MP Kavitha, and CM KCR.

Meanwhile, TRS MP Kavitha too shared a similar opinion. Talking to the media after a meeting with TRS leaders in Nizamabad, Kavitha said ‘the Nizamabad TRS Committee has taken a unanimous decision to cancel D Srinivas’ party membership. We have sent the same to party president KCR. We have also recommended disciplinary action against him’.

The MP also went on to say, there is absolutely no use of a politician like D Srinivas in the party. It doesn’t matter whether he is in or out of the party.

TRS party sources confirmed that the expulsion orders of D Srinivas from TRS party will be carried out by today evening.

Federal Front will be game changer: Kavitha

1

The Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) is confident that the proposed Federal Front will emerge as a strong alternative political platform before the 2019 Lok Sabha elections and will be a “game changer”, a party leader said on Tuesday.

The formation of the Federal Front — an anti-BJP and anti-Congress platform mooted by TRS chief and Telangana Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao — is under process, said his daughter and party MP K. Kavitha.

“Our country needs an alternative political platform which is non-BJP and non-Congress. The Federal Front is an idea to get into an alliance wherein both these parties did not perform to the expectations of the people,” she told reporters at the Indian Women’s Press Corps (IWPC) here.

Kavitha, the first woman MP from Telangana who represents Nizamabad, said that the party supremo was in talks with like-minded people and the front agenda will soon be put before the public.

“The TRS as a party does not believe in north-south divide. KCR has reached out to not just southern leaders but also Mamata Banerjee and Akhilesh Yadav as well. The situation and equation will determine who all are going to be part of this platform,” she said.

On TRS’s equation with the BJP, Kavitha said that the TRS has maintained cordial relations with the Centre and not with an individual party in power.

“KCR believes that the state should always have a working relationship with the central government. We are the youngest state (in India) and we have a working relationship with the Centre and Prime Minister Narendra Modi and will continue because it is essential,” Kavitha said.

Asked about extending support to any national party, especially the BJP, Kavitha clarified that TRS stands as a strong regional party and won’t go for coalition with either of the two big political parties.

“Why should we be close to the BJP? We have always been at arms length from both the BJP and the Congress.”

As for KCR’s presence at the swearing-in of H.D. Devegowda as the Chief Minister of Karnataka on Wednesday, Kavitha said the Telangana Chief Minister has already met him in Bengaluru on Tuesday.

The Chief Minister’s office in Hyderabad confirmed that Rao will not be able to attend the ceremony due to some official engagements. However, informed sources said, Rao did not want to share the dias with Congress leaders and thus met Kumaraswamy a day earlier.

Senior actress Kavitha Joins BJP after leaving TDP

0

Actress Kavitha, who acted in several Telugu films during 1980’s and was in TDP earlier, joins BJP party and praised Modi.

After Roja left TDP, she was seen actively in various media channels representing TDP. Though she didn’t have great oratory skills, she was seen speaking for TDP. However, during Mahanadu-2017 meetings she left the venue after she was denied a place on the dais during the inaugural session. She became emotional and told she has been working for the TDP for past one decade, but she was insulted by the TDP leaders. Since then, she is maintaining distance with TDP party and in fact she stopped being active in politics.

She now joined BJP and she was a big fan of Narendra Modi and she like his schemes. She added, she will start afresh in politics and put her best efforts for BJP party.

MP Kavitha backs KCR! Extends support to AP Special Category Status

It looks like the issue of KCR’s remarks against Modi is gaining momentum at the national level. Despite KTR giving a possible explanation, that it might have been a slip-of-the-tongue, Defence Minister Nirmala Sitharaman came out lashing on KCR through electronic media.

Trying to control the damage, MP Kavitha came in support of KCR. ‘KCR has no intention to degrade PM Modi. He doesn’t sport such kind of narrow nature. CM KCR did not willingly pass the remark against the PM. Instead, it just came through his flow of words. Given his grief over the current situation of the farmers in the state, he might have been harsh.’

Further speaking about AP Special Category Status, MP Kavitha said, ‘Right from 2014 we have been extending our support to Andhra Pradesh. The Centre should fulfil all the promises made in the AP Reorganization Act 2014. TRS is always at the forefront, to fight for the rights of Telangana’.

KCR’s remarks over Modi is really getting interesting in the political circle. Few political analysts opined that Nirmala Sitharaman made a mole out of an anthill after she discussed her call with KTR on national media.

TRS MP Kavitha says “Jai Andhra”

0

During the Telangana agitation, there have been lot words exchanged between AP leaders and Telangana leaders. At that time, nobody expected a Telangana leader from TRS like Kavitha will one day say “Jai Andhra”. But she said Jai Andhra and that too in parliament. She supported AP agitation of MPs in the parliament too. She spoke –

“Whatever has been promised to us during AP reorganisation act on the floor of this house has to be honoured. We sincerely urge that you fulfil the promises made to both Andhra and Telangana. Since past 2-3 all days all our Andhra brothers both YSRCP and TDP have been agitating. We support their agitation. But being in alliance, if they are agitating, that is clearly sending wrong message to this nation. Kindly address this issue as soon as possible.”

She thanked AP MPs for giving a patient hearing to her speech and closed the speech by saying “Jai Andhra”.
