Red sanders mafia ruling the roost in State, says Lokesh

0

Stating that the sed sanders mafia is ruling the roost in the State, TDP general secretary, Nara Lokesh, on Tuesday that the killing of constable Ganesh in KV Palli mandal of Annamayya district earlier in the day reflects the fact that the mafia’s atrocities have reached its peak.

Lokesh said that Chief Minister Jagan Mohan Reddy’s rule has become a golden era for the smugglers. In fact, the red sanders mafia has taken birth with the Punganur Veerappan, Minister, Peddireddy Ramachandra Reddy and the international smuggler, Gangireddy, he added.

By declaring these red sanders smugglers as the YSRCP candidates for the upcoming polls, Jagan has established a green channel for these smugglers. If the police personnel come in the way of these smugglers they are being finished and the killing of the Task Force constable earlier in the day reflects the fact that these smugglers have the blessings of the ruling party elders, Lokesh said.

Paying tributes to the Task Force constable, Ganesh, who was laid down his life while on duty, Lokesh expressed deep felt sympathies to the bereaved family members. Demanding that the State Government immediately come to the rescue of the family of Ganesh, Lokesh said that the culprits who killed the constable should be punished severely.

The Task Force constable, Ganesh, was crushed to death under a running vehicle in KV Palli mandal of Annamayya district by suspected red sanders smugglers and he succumbed to injuries while being shifted to the nearby hospital.

Guv speech is filled with half-truths, says TDP

0

The Governor’s address to the combined session of Legislature on Monday is filled with half-truths and jugglery, said the MLAs and MLCs of the Opposition Telugu Desam Party (TDP).

With the strong feeling that the Governor’s address to the joint session of the Legislature is completely filled with half-truths, the TDP MLAs and MLCs staged a walk-out from the House. Later, they told media persons on the Assembly precincts that Chief Minister, Jagan Mohan Reddy, made another attempt to cheat the people before elections.

The TDP MLAs and MLCs said that they will certainly pinpoint the failures of the Jagan Reddy Government and bring the actual facts before the people during the thanksgiving speech. “The Jagan Government which has miserably failed on all fronts has not brought the facts before the public,” Gorantla Butchaiah Chiowadary, the TDP politburo member and MLC said.

The Governor’s address has far exceeded the Goebbels propaganda and the State Government has made every attempt to create a false impression among the people, the TDP MLAs and MLCs said. The State has been taken to the top position in the country in debts and the Government has not mentioned its failures in the Governor’s speech, they said.

Maintaining that the schemes being extended by the Centre are claimed to be that of the State, they said that the State has fallen to the bottom in education, health and other sectors. The TDP leaders are of the opinion that Jagan has no right to ask for votes in the upcoming polls as he has not fulfilled any promise made to the people. “Even the Governor was seen feeling so embarrassed while addressing the joint session as he is well aware of the ground reality and what he is reading out in his speech,” they observed.

For waiver of the cases pending against him, the Chief Minister has mortgaged the prestige of the State, the TDP MLAs and MLCs said and felt that the law and order has miserably failed in the State while the irrigation sector has totally collapsed. “It is really shameful that Jagan has exploited the Raj Bhavan for his political gains,” they said.

Making mockery of the ‘Siddham’ campaign undertaken by Jagan, the TDP leaders said that he is indirectly informing the people that he is getting ready to go home.

Naidu asks AP DGP to take VRS

0

TDP supremo N Chandrababu Naidu on Wednesday asked AP DGP K V Rajendranath Reddy to take Voluntary Retirement (VRS) if he cannot handle law and order in the state. Chandrababu Naidu said that the DGP had completely failed to control the law and order in the state.

He referred to the mining officials inspecting the mining activity in Martur with anti-social elements and rowdy attacks in Krosuru village. He wondered how the police allowed the officials to visit the mining along with rowdies. He alleged that the officials have entered into the mining area with rowdies carrying deadly weapons.

He said that the police were expected to be neutral and protect the law and order. However, in Andhra Pradesh, the police were acting as the YSR Congress Party workers. He sought to advise the DGP to change their uniform and took the YSR Congress Party flag.

He wondered how an assistant director level officer in the mines department had gone to the mining area with rowdies accompanying him. He wanted to know what the police were doing when the officials were inspecting the area with rowdies.

Chandrababu Naidu regretted that there was no law and order in the state during the last five years. The YSR Congress had destroyed every institution. The rowdies and other anti-social elements were taking advantage of the police silence.

He alleged that there is Goondaraj ruling Andhra Pradesh. Chief Minister Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy was allowing rowdies to take over the law and order in the state. People were living under fear in every village across the state, he said.

The TDP chief sought to advise the DGP to stop serving the political interests of the ruling party. He also advised the DGP to work as a police officer and not as the YSR Congress activist. He also alleged that some district SPs were also allowing rowdies to rule the districts. Several districts were witnessing the anti-social elements taking advantage.

TDP may field Ramaiah once again for RS polls

0

The opposition TDP is likely to field its candidate for the February 27th election to the Rajya Sabha. Three seats are falling vacant now and the ruling YSR Congress has all the strength to win all the three seats.

Three seats are falling vacant in Rajya Sabha with the retirement of BJP member C M Ramesh, TDP member Kanakamedala Ravindra Kumar and YSR Congress member Vemireddy Prabhakar Reddy on April , 2024. The ruling YSR Congress has the numbers to wrest all the three seats unless any miracle happens.

However, the TDP plans to field its candidate once again banking completely on the dissent vote in the ruling YSR Congress. The TDP believes that there would be more than a dozen ruling party MLAs who are not happy with the party and would vote for the TDP in the Rajya Sabha elections.

Accordingly, the party is likely to field its senior leader and politburo member Varla Ramaiah as its candidate for the Rajya Sabha elections. Ramaiah contested the last Rajya Sabha elections on March 26, 2020, when the TDP had just 21 seats in the 175-member Assembly.

Two members of the party – Vallabhaneni Vamsi Mohan and Karanam Balaramakrishna Murthy – have by then defected to the ruling YSR Congress. With just 21 members on hand, the TDP contested the elections against the required strength of 43 members for four Rajya Sabha seats.

Now, the party would require 58 seats in the Assembly to contest the election to the three posts falling vacant on April 2, 2024. The actual strength of the TDP in the Assembly now had come down to 19. There are four rebel MLAs from the ruling YSR Congress, who are likely to vote for the TDP taking its strength to 23 members.

The TDP believes that more than a dozen MLAs from the ruling party would vote for the TDP in the Rajya Sabha elections. Chief Minister Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy had denied tickets to several sitting MLAs who are now up in arms against the party leadership. They are fuming at the party leadership for denying tickets to them.

The dissident MLAs are crying foul of the ticket denial and are set to vote against the party in the elections. Taking advantage of the situation, the TDP is likely to field Varla Ramaiah once again in the Rajya Sabha elections. It is to be seen what would happen if the TDP contests the elections again at this point of time.

Come, let’s establish Rama Rajyam, Naidu calls people

0

TDP chief N Chandrababu Naidu on Thursday appealed to the people to come and join him in establishing Rama Rajyam in the state. He wanted everyone in the state to support his efforts in restoring democracy in the state.

Chandrababu Naidu paid rich tributes to late N T Rama Rao, the founder of the TDP on Thursday. He said that late NTR had established a welfare state on the lines of Lord Sri Rama. He also said that NTR was the first leader to have the welfare state.

The TDP chief said that NTR had rolled out several welfare schemes in the state and worked for the welfare and uplift of the poor. NTR had always worked for the uplift of the poor, and we need a similar leadership today, Chandrababu Naidu said.

He further paid tributes to the late leader calling him as a light of the people, particularly the Telugu people. He said that NTR brought recognition to the Telugu people. He gave a new lease of life to the Telugu speaking people, Chandrababu Naidu said.

NTR lived a life with commitment and dedication, he said. He had set his goals in advance and lived to reach there, Naidu said.

Stating that people of all sections were struggling for survival in the state for the past five years, Naidu wanted everyone to join him in restoring democracy in the state. He said that people were living in the grip of fear and have no human rights. Human rights are suppressed in the state, he said.

He also said that the state is to be liberated from poverty and that could be possible only through the TDP. He said that the TDP is fighting to bring back welfare and democracy to the state and wanted people to join him.

Chandrababu Naidu wanted every section of the people to support him and his mission to restore Rama Rajyam in the state. He emphasised the need to bring back every scheme that NTR had launched during his tenure.

Why focus only on robbing State than on attracting investments, asks Pattabhi

0

Chief Minister, Jagan Mohan Reddy, skipped the Davos World Economic Forum summit as he could not face the investors since the prestige of both the country and the State got totally damaged globally with his Tughlaq decisions, remarked TDP spokesman, Kommareddy Pattabhiram, on Wednesday.

While Chief Ministers of the neighbouring States like Revanth Reddy of Telangana and Siddaramaiah of Karnataka, have attended the Davos summit to attract investments for their respective States, Jagan is seriously engaged in playing the PUBG game at Tadepalle palace, Kommareddy Pattabhiram said while talking to media persons here. Even Minister, Gudivada Amarnath, too could not take his representatives to Davos, he said.

Pattabhi felt that due to the inefficiency of the Chief Minister the State has suffered heavy damage in the past five years with regard to foreign investments. This psycho, Jagan, has skipped the Davos global summit this year too, which is very helpful for attracting foreign investments to the State, the TDP spokesman felt.

In the past five years Jagan has attended the Davos summit only once, in 2022, but could not attract any investments to the State, Pattabhi said. In that year too Jagan has gone on a foreign jaunt along with his family members in the name of Davos visit, he remarked.

Under the leadership of the then chief minister, Chandrababu Naidu, a team of the State had visited Davos every year between 2014 and 2019, and attracted huge foreign investments to the State, Pattabhi said. But Jagan is more interested in robbing the State than taking decisions for the development of the State, he added.

Giving the details of the foreign investments attracted by Chandrababu Naidu every year, Pattabhi said that in the past five years, the Chief Minister did not make even a single visit which is useful for the State. This is the basic reason as to why people now want that this psycho should go and cycle should be back, Mr Pattabhi said and added that the voters are now repenting for having elected Mr Jagan to power.

Charges levelled against Naidu are baseless, says Nakka Ananda Babu

0

All the allegations levelled against TDP supremo and former chief minister, Nara Chandrabbau Naidu, are all baseless, observed party politburo member, Nakka Ananda Babu.

All the cases against Chandrababu Naidu are registered without any kind of evidence, Ananda Babu told media persons at the party headquarters here. The TDP politburo member felt that the ruling dispensation is resorting to vengeful attitude towards Chandrababu Naidu and all other TDP leaders and the ruling party leaders should remember that they are going to face a tough time very soon.

Ananda Babu is of the strong opinion that justice will certainly prevail and said that the TDP leaders should move forward bravely. The Assistant Advocate General (AAG) feels like the Chief Justice of India (CJI) and he can no longer rule the roost, he said and advised the AAG to stop acting like a YSRCP worker.

Observing that the YSRCP leaders are resorting to misinformation campaigning that the Supreme Court judgement is against Chandrabbau Naidu, the TDP politburo member felt that all this exercise is only to mislead the people. “I can certainly say that the judgement is partially a victory of our leader,” he remarked. Pointing out that the division bench of the apex court has expressed differences of opinion and has taken the case to the level of the Chief Justice of India, he said that ultimately one has to wait and see what decision the CJI will take whether he will forward the case to the three-member bench or for the Constitutional bench.

Stating that the TDP has also taken legal recourse seeking anticipatory bail in other cases filed illegally, Ananda Babu said that the High Court has made some comments while granting bail. The people have clearly come to an understanding that false cases have been framed against Chandrababu Naidu, he added.

Ananda Babu made it clear that the TDP legal advisory committee will take a decision and express its opinion after studying the copy of the judgment and the party will respond only after that.

Jana Sena wants 50 seats, TDP offers 25

0

The alliance talks between the TDP and Jana Sens are inconclusive. The Jana Sena is asking for 50 Assembly seats and 3 Parliament seats in alliance with the TDP. However, the TDP is ready to give 25 Assembly seats and one Parliament seat.

The Jana Sena leaders are strongly lobbying for 50 Assembly seats for the party in the alliance. They believe that the party is strong with the increased strength for the coming elections. The party is strong mostly in the undivided two Godavari districts.

The party wants at least 30 Assembly seats in the two districts and is confident of winning all of them at one go. The remaining 20 seats are in Krishna, Guntur, Prakasam, Nellore and Chittoor districts. The party is not so sure about its victory in these districts but is double confident in the two undivided Godavari districts.

Jana Sena chief Pawan Kalyan held a long discussion with TDP chief N Chandrababu Naidu a couple of weeks ago. They both discussed their joint manifesto besides sharing the seats. Sources say that Chandrababu Naidu had offered 25 Assembly seats and one parliament seat to the Jana Sena.

It is said that Pawan Kalyan had then asked for 30 Assembly seats and two parliament seats. However, after going back to the party cadre, particularly after holding interaction with the party leaders in Kakinada in the last week of December, Pawan Kalyan is said to have changed his mind on the number of seats.

He is now asking for 50 Assembly seats and three parliament seats. He is not ready to compromise anything less than what he had asked for. He is sending feelers to the TDP leaders to give as many seats as they are asking if they want the alliance to continue.

The TDP leadership is of the opinion that Pawan Kalyan cannot break the alliance at this point of time and would accept whatever the number of seats offered to him. Pawan Kalyan might hold a brief protest on the number of seats but would accept whatever is given to him, feel the TDP leaders.

The TDP leaders also feel that Jana Sena would not win more than five Assembly seats and wonder why they should be given 50 seats. “The alliance should help both the parties to win the election not to lose,” is what the TDP leaders say.

It is to be seen what number Pawan Kalyan would settle down for and what number the TDP would offer them, when the talks are held finally in the coming two weeks.

BJP may not consider TDP for alliance in AP

0

The ruling BJP may not consider the opposition TDP in Andhra Pradesh for electoral alliance in the coming 2024 general election to the state Assembly. Jana Sena chief Pawan Kalyan is lobbying with the BJP top leadership for alliance.

With the promise of bringing BJP also to the alliance, Pawan Kalyan had already aligned with the TDP. The two parties have already formed coordination committees to work on the alliance. They have also held the first round of meetings at the state level and at the Assembly constituency level.

Though there were open fighting between the leaders of the two parties in several Assembly constituencies, the leaders are moving forward with the single motto of defeating the ruling YSR Congress in the coming elections. The agenda is only to defeat the YSR Congress and nothing more than that.

With the agenda to defeat the YSR Congress, the TDP and Jana Sena are going together for the polls, but the BJP seems to be having a different agenda. The BJP leaders are friendly with the ruling YSR Congress. They need the YSR Congress Rajya Sabha members to get the bills passed in the upper house where the BJP is short of majority.

Pawan Kalyan is seriously lobbying with the top BJP leaders for alliance with the TDP. Even the leaders in the BJP who originally belong to the TDP are also working hard to bring both the BJP and the TDP together ahead of the 2024 general election. Even the AP BJP president Daggubati Purandheswari, who used to oppose Chandrababu Naidu’s politics is now lobbying for alliance with the TDP.

But the BJP has its own agenda for Andhra Pradesh. It is not ready to break the good relationship that the party has with the ruling YSR Congress. Moreover, the party top leaders believe that the party would get strong only if the TDP is closed. They are working on those lines to see that the TDP is politically crippled.

Given all these calculations, the BJP may not extend its hand to the TDP in the coming elections. Moreover, the TDP had helped the Congress in Telangana against the wishes of the BJP. The TDP extended its support to the Congress and is responsible for the vote increase that the Congress may get in the election. This is not a happy news for the BJP leadership, and this might pull them away from the TDP in Andhra Pradesh.

EC gives strong warning to AP officials on poll code

0

The Election Commission had given a strong warning to the senior officials of the state government on implementing the election code and also verifying the voter list. Chief Election Commissioner Rajiv Kumar took the officials to task for succumbing to the pressures from the political parties.

Rajiv Kumar, commissioners Anoop Chandra Pande and Arun Goel took the officials to task at the review meeting. They pointed an accusing finger at Tirupati, YSR, Kakinada, and Bapatla district collectors and Vijayawada police commissioner for irregularities in the voters list and enforcement of law and order.

They asked the officials to move out of their positions if they can’t act independently. They wanted the officials to act independently and be neutral, maintaining equal distance from all political parties. They found fault with the district collectors for not acting on those who submitted Form 7 to remove the genuine votes.

The EC officials also pulled up the district collectors and the SPs for not acting on the complaints over removal of genuine votes and other irregularities in the voters list. They blamed the district collectors and the SPs for not acting on the bogus votes and removal of genuine votes.

The EC officials also referred to the complaints given by the political parties and sought explanation from the officials. They wondered why the officials were not removing the bogus votes and not taking action against those who filed Form 7 for removal of genuine votes.

The officials also blamed the collectors and SPs for not strictly implementing the orders at the check posts between Andhra Pradesh and Telangana. They questioned the officials for allowing smuggling of liquor and money in huge quantities.

Money and liquor flowing into the state from neighbouring Telangana and Karnataka states, the EC officials said. They asked the officials to be strict in implementing the election norms or just leave the positions to facilitate the EC to appoint new persons in the posts.

Pattabhi flays Jagan for not conceding genuine demands of Anganwadis, others

0

“Do the lives of 1.10 lakh Anganwadis in the State not cost the palace that you have built on Rishikonda for your luxurious life,” Kommareddy Pattabhiram, spokesman of the TDP, asked Chief Minister, Jagan Mohan Reddy,.

Pattabhiram told media persons here that the entire expenditure to meet the genuine demands of Anganwadis, municipal workers, the staff members of the Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan and the 108-104 ambulance employees is just peanuts compared to the thousands of crores that Jagan has been spending for his affluent life. How are the provisions of the Essential Services Maintenance Act (ESMA) invoked and how can they be canecharged when all of them are fighting for their genuine demands and for implementation of the promises made to them, Pattabhiram asked.

The TDP spokesman is of the strong opinion that the entire expenditure to meet the genuine demands of the Anganwadis do not cost even the cost of the Rishikonda palace that Jagan has built for his lavish life. Is it not a fact that Jagan has promised Anganwadis during the 2019 elections campaign that he would revise the wages of the Anganwadis to see to it that they will be Rs 1,000 more than than their counterparts in Telangana, Pattabhi questioned Jagan.

“The current monthly wages of Anganwadis in Telangana is Rs 13,600 and Jagan, as promised, should have revised these wages to Rs 14,600 but the fact is that only Rs 11,500 is being paid to them now,” Pattabhi pointed out. The annual burden on the exchequer is merely Rs 395 cr if the wages of the 1.10 lakh Anganwadis are revised as promised, he pointed out and said that Jagan has spent a whooping Rs 433 cr to build the palace on Rishikonda for his luxurious life.

It is really atrocious that the 108-104 employees who save several lives everyday are not being paid ontime, the TDP spokesman said and asked why Rs 188 cr being paid to the Aurobindo Pharma, who is Jagan’s binami, in the name of maintenance of 108 ambulances. How Ramayapatnam Port and solar parks worth thousands of crores are illegally being handed over to Aurobindo Pharma which is not paying even the salaries of the employees ontime, he asked.

The Centre bears 60 per cent of the total expenditure of the Sarva Siksha Abhiyan and the State Government’s share is merely 40 per cent but still the salaries of the staff members are not being paid by Jagan, the TDP spokesman said. The entire State has been experiencing agitations, dharnas and strikes by different sections as all of them feel that they have been deceived by the Chief Minister, he said.

Pattabhiram felt that Jagan is not conceding the demands of these agitating employees not because of lack of funds but because he is not willing to meet their demands. The people are soon going to punish him severely as he is responsible for the woes of all these sections, Pattabhiram added.

Kesineni’s daughter also quits as corporator, TDP

0

Vijayawada MP Kesineni Srinivas’s daughter Kesineni Swetha also resigned as coporator in the Vijayawada Municipal Corporation on Monday. She met Mayor Bhagyalakshmi and submitted her resignation letter in the Municipal Corporation office. She requested the mayor to accept her resignation at the earliest.

She told the media persons that she had resigned to her corporator post from 11th division in the Vijayawada Municipal Corporation. She said that she would soon send her resignation to the TDP once her resignation to the corporator post is accepted.

Swetha said that she would continue to work for the people and her father, Srinivas in the days to come. She said that her father Kesineni Srinivas had been facing insult in the party for the past one year.

“We were under the impression that the party top leadership is unaware of the issues happening in the party here. But now we could understand that everything is happening with the knowledge of the party top leadership,” she said.

TDP general secretary Nara Lokesh asked what responsibility Kesineni has for the public meeting at Tiruvur. Well, Tiruvur is part of Vijayawada Lok Sabha constituency and Kesineni is the MP. If Lokesh doesn’t know this, who could help him, she asked.

She also said that Kesineni would contest as the MP for the third consecutive term and would win as well. She expressed confidence that the people of Vijayawada Lok Sabha constituency would bless Kesineni as the MP again.

Earlier in the day, Kesineni took to the social media and announced that his daughter Kesineni Swetha would resign for her corporator post and the TDP as well. He also posted a photograph of TDP chief N Chandrababu Naidu and Swetha and said that they would be leaving the party shortly.

Lokesh’s call to leaders to work for development of State

TDP general secretary, Nara Lokesh, on Saturday made it clear that all sections of society get proper recognition in the party.

Several YSRCP leaders from Mangalagiri Assembly segment, including Venkata Prasad and Palnati Nageswara Rao, along with 100 families on Saturday joined the TDP in the presence of Lokesh. Welcoming all of them into party fold, Lokesh said the ruling YSRCP is getting vacated as almost all the party leaders are joining the TDP.

“Countdown has begun for Chief Minister, Jagan Mohan Reddy, and since the ruling party leaders are well aware that the YSRCP is going to be defeated in the coming polls all the seniors are looking towards the TDP,” Lokesh said. Calling upon the leaders to work together for the overall development of not only Mangalagiri but also the whole State, the TDP national general secretary said that every section of society gets its proper place in the TDP.

“Cooperate with the seniors in the party and work for the TDP victory in the coming elections,” Lokesh told those who joined the party. The Yuva Galam has generated a lot of enthusiasm among the party cadre across the State, he added.

Before joining the TDP, these leaders took out a massive rally in Mangalagiri. Lokesh has been holding a series of meetings with the locals, particularly those who are adopting a neutral path and seniors are rallying behind him to create history in the State in the coming polls.

The TDP leaders from Mangalagiri, Nandam Abaddaiah, Mummidi Satyanarayana, Potheneni Srinivasa Rao and others were present.

Kesineni told to keep away from party programmes

0

The TDP leadership had communicated to Vijayawada sitting MP Kesineni Srinivas (Nani) to keep away from the party programmes. The leadership had told him that the party would be giving the party ticket to contest as MP to a new candidate this time.

Kesineni was also asked to maintain a low profile now as the new candidate would take over the party in the constituency. The party leadership had been promoting Kesineni’s brother Kesineni Sivanadh for the past three years. Sivanadh had been touring the seven Assembly segments of the Vijayawada Parliament constituency for the past three years.

Sivanadh had the blessings of TDP general secretary Nara Lokesh. He had been holding meetings and meeting party leaders in the seven Assembly constituencies as potential candidates for the coming Parliament elections.

This decision of the party was communicated to Kesineni Nani by party former ministers Alapati Rajendra Prasad and Nettem Raghuram, besides Machilipatnam former MP Konakalla Narayana Rao. They told the MP to remain silent and keep away from the party activities in the constituency. He was also asked to give way for the party to nominate a new candidate to contest the coming elections.

While accepting the party decision, Kesineni Nani said that he would accept whatever the party leadership decided. He said he would follow the directions as a loyal party worker.

However, it is to be seen what Kesineni Nani would do to protect his supporters and his leadership. Nani had been aspiring to contest the coming elections for the third consecutive term. He had high hopes of entering the Lok Sabha for the third consecutive term and this communication from the party put a break to his plans.

In all probability, Nani may not remain silent, though he said he would accept and welcome the party decision. There is a big rumour that Nani either would contest as Independent or would go to the BJP and contest.

Nani has great links with the BJP leaders at the national level and it is not tough for him to get the party ticket if he wanted. It is to be seen what he would do in the days to come.

YSRCP MLA resorting to committing sins at pilgrim town of Srikalahasti, says Lokesh

0

All the pilgrims pray Lord Sri Kalahasteeswara that all their sins are removed and that they be permitted to take the right path but YSRCP MLA, Biyyapu Madhusudhan Reddy, with all his authoritarianism, is resorting to committing various kinds of sins in the precincts of the great Srikalahasthi, observed TDP general secretary, Nara Lokesh, on Tuesday.

In a press note released here, Lokesh said that the MLA is behaving sinfully towards the very God and the Goddess. The MLA is demolishing the rooms on the precincts of the ancient temple where the sacred prasadams are made for the Lord and the Goddess and the holy place where divine Mruthunjaya poojas are performed, he said.

Lokesh strongly condemned the attempts to undertake the excavations on the precincts of the holy temple by completely ignoring the archaeological and the endowments guidelines. “It amounts to not only violation of the norms to damage the renowned and historic assets but also is an immoral act,” Lokesh said and demanded an immediate action against those responsible for such offensive excavations.

Naidu reaching public through ‘Raa-Kadaliraa’ programme from Jan 5 to 29

0

Former chief minister and TDP president, Nara Chandrababu Naidu, is reaching the people with a call ‘Raa-Kadaliraa’ from January 5 to 29, announced party State unit president, Kinjerapu Atchen Naidu, on Tuesday.

Flanked by party politburo members, Varla Ramaiah and Kollu Ravindra, former minister, Devineni Umamaheswara Rao along with MLC, Paruchuri Ashok Babu, the TDP State unit president told media persons at the party headquarters here that the as part of the ‘Raa-Kadaliraa’ programme, Chandrababu Naidu will address massive public meetings in all the 22 Lok Sabha constituencies in the State. Stating that an action plan has already been formulated to garner the support of massive gatherings for all these meetings, Atchen Naidu announced that these meetings are being organised jointly by both the TDP and the Jana Sena.

“Along with Chandrababu, Jana Sena chief Pawan Kalyan, too will address these meetings in all the Lok Sabha constituencies,” Atchen Naidu added. On Wednesday, the TDP is organising a meeting of the TDP’s State panchayat raj unit at the Convention Centre near the TDP national headquarters in Mangalagiri, he said.

The following day, on Thursday, ‘Jayaho BC’ programme will be held at the party headquarters under the leadership of Chandrababu Naidu, the TDP State unit president announced. “This programme is aimed at creating awareness among the BCs how this Government and Chief Minister, Jagan Mohan Reddy, have deceived the BCs and how terribly the community has been persecuted,” Atchen Naidu said. Also, a State-wide bus yatra is being planned soon under the supervision of the TNTUC to bring awareness among the working community, he stated.

Observing that his own party leaders and the cadre are not trusting Jagan Mohan Reddy, the TDP State president remarked that scared of dissidence and dissatisfaction within his party, Jagan retracted from his own decision of announcing a fresh list of candidates for the upcoming Assembly elections. Atchen Naidu said that Jagan, who has been moving on the path of destruction, is encouraging only corrupt, inefficient and criminals in politics. Not even a single section of people are feeling secure in this disorderly rule, he added.

Stating that the Chief Minister has completely ruined the local bodies system which play a major role in administration, Atchen Naidu said that leave alone no sanction of funds for the local bodies, the Chief Minister has even diverted the Rs 9,000 cr funds released by the Centre. The situation of the village panchayats is so bad now that they do not have funds to undertake repairs to even drainage canals.

Though the Anganwadis have been on an agitational path for the past 22 days, the Chief Minister did not respond till now while the sanitary workers, Aasha workers and others too are on strike demanding justice to them, he said. Atchen Naidu strongly believes that the countdown has begun for this Government and the people are ready to bid goodbye to this party.

Atchen Naidu said that several ruling YSRCP leaders are now ready to join the TDP and the party has formed two committees to take a decision on this. “The decision of these committees and finally the TDP supremo is final on welcoming these leaders into the party fold,” the TDP State unit president said.

TDP to hold Jayaho BC from January 4

0

The opposition TDP would hold Jayaho BC programme across the state from January 4, 2024. This was announced here by party general secretary Nara Lokesh on Friday.

Lokesh said that the present YSR Congress government had done a lot of injustice to the BCs in the state in the last five years. The government withdrew the Adarana scheme and had not given any tools to the BCs, he said. He further said that the government had also taken away the assigned lands given to the BCs in the previous government.

He said that the government had also withdrawn 10 per cent reservation given to the BCs in the local body elections. This had deprived power to 16,000 BCs in the state, he said. He said that the government had announced that it had created 56 corporations for the BCs. But no corporation had money to do anything. What would they do without money, he asked.

Lokesh said that the government had also booked cases against the BCs, particularly those belonging to the TDP. Former ministers Yanamala Ramakrishnudu, Ch Ayyannapathrudu, Kollu Ravindra were booked under various cases for fighting for the BCs in the state, he said.

Nandam Subbaiah was killed in Prodduturu town, while Muni Rajamma’s shop was destroyed in Srikalahasti for criticising the government, Lokesh said. He said that the TDP had been giving due representation to the BCs right from the formation of the party. The BCs have been with the TDP for all these years, he said and added that only the TDP would work for their welfare and uplift.

He said that the TDP would create a separate fund for the welfare of the BCs once it formed the government after the 2024 general election. He further said that the TDP government would also give permanent caste certificates for the BCs, STs and SCs.

He said that the BC leaders in the TDP would organise progrmames under Jayaho BC at village level to the State level.

Referring to the YSR Congress promising more seats for the BCs, Lokesh said that the YSRCP was giving tickets to the BCs wherever they would lose. He dared the YSR Congress to give Pulivendula Assembly and Kadapa MP seats to the BCs if the party had commitment for them. He said that the YSRCP was giving tickets to the BCs, wherever the party was poised to lose the elections.

Jana Sena wants 50 Assembly seats from TDP

0

The Jana Sena is asking for at least 50 Assembly seats in alliance with the TDP. While the TDP had promised just 25 seats, the Jana Sena wants more if the alliance has to be strong.

There is also pressure on Jana Sena chief Pawan Kalyan from the Kapu community to ask for more seats to be a strong partner in the alliance. The TDP is having trouble in giving more seats to the Jana Sena as the party is also looking at having an alliance with the CPI and the CPM. The TDP would have to give at least 5 seats to the two parties in alliance, if it works out.

TDP chief N Chandrababu Naidu had started working on finding the candidates for his own party and also allocating the seats to the Jana Sena and the Left parties. He is busy with identification of the seats to be given to the Jana Sena. Chandrababu Naidu is understood to have got the latest survey report on the strength of the Jana Sena in the State.

The latest survey shows him where the Jana Sena is strong so as to give them those seats. The survey is said to be conducted by Robin Sharma of Show Time. The survey was done critically to have an understanding of the real strength of the Jana Sena at the grassroots.

Though Pawan Kalyan is asking for 50 seats, Chandrababu Naidu is not ready to give anything more than 25 to 30 seats. He believes that Jana Sena would not win more than five to ten seats in the elections and giving them more seats is to help the ruling YSR Congress to win more seats.

Meanwhile, Pawan Kalyan is leaving for Kakinada for his three day stay in the town. He is likely to have talks with the party leaders during these three days and hold talks with them mostly on the alliance with the TDP and the number of seats to be taken from the TDP in alliance.

Pawan Kalyan would also hold consultations with the elders of the Kapu community who have been asking him to be strong and bold in bargaining with the TDP. They want him to grab more seats in the alliance so as to be an equal partner with the TDP. This would give an edge to the Jana Sena at the time of formation of the coalition government after the elections if the alliance wins the polls.
