KTR faces ire of flood-hit people in Sircilla

1

Things don’t seem to be going KTR’s way these days. Firstly, his anointment as the Chief Minister of Telangana could not go as planned. There was opposition from Eatala and Harish Rao. Though Eatala has been edged out for disobedience, the situation has not improved for KTR. So, his anointment has been taken off the agenda as of now.

Later, he was asked to keep off Huzurabad. In fact, the Huzurabad bypoll is in Karimnagar district, the borough of KTR. But, KTR is nowhere to be seen in Huzurabad. It is Harish Rao from neighbouring Siddipet who is holding the fort there. This has seriously dented KTR’s overall image across the state in general and in Karimnagar in particular.

Now, there is another problem for KCR. Past one week saw huge rains across Telangana and more so in KTR’s constituency of Sircilla. Many of the colonies in Sircilla are marooned and many roles have become waterways. The normal life has been completely disturbed. The people were put to untold hardships. So when KTR toured Sircilla on Friday, the locals vented their ire against KTR for leaving them to their fate and doing nothing to contain the flooding of the main streets of Sircilla. When KTR in his own style, tried to outbeat them in a wordy duel, the flood-hit people were more enraged. Realising that the tide was turning against him, he beat a hasty retreat.

Even in Hyderabad, the floods have wreaked havoc and contrary to KTR’s assurances, the situation has not improved at all. Significantly, not a single minister or MLA visited the flood hit areas this time either in Hyderabad or in Sircilla. KTR faced people’s ire when he visited the flood hit areas in Sircilla, his constituency. Seems KTR has to do much more to woo his voters.

Telangana CM calls meeting on implementation of Dalit Bandhu scheme

1

Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao on Friday decided to convene a preparatory meeting for the implementation of the Telangana Dalit Bandhu scheme in four mandals on a pilot basis.

The meeting will be held at Pragathi Bhavan, the official residence of the Telangana chief minister on September 13.

The chief minister recently announced that Dalit Bandhu will be implemented in four mandals — Chintakani in Madhira constituency, Tirmalgiri in Tungaturthy, Charakonda mandal in Achampet and Kalwakurty constituencies and Nizam Sagar in Jukkal constituency. This is in addition to the ongoing implementation of the scheme on a pilot basis in Huzurabad Constituency.

Ministers, zilla parishad chairpersons, collectors from the four districts of Khammam, Nalgonda, Mahabubnagar and Nizamabad, legislators from Madhira, Tungaturthy, Achampet, Kalwakurty, Jukkal constituencies, SC welfare minister Sri Koppula Eswar, Chief Secretary Somesh Kumar, SC Development Secretary, CM Secretary Rahul Bojja, Finance Secretary will participate.

The CM said the Karimnagar district collector will attend the meeting as a special invitee and share his experiences at the ground level while implementing the scheme in Huzurabad.

The government has selected four mandals in four Assembly constituencies, which are represented by Dalit MLAs (constituencies reserved for scheduled castes) in the north, east, west and southern parts of the state.

The scheme will be implemented for all Dalit families in these mandals.

The government has taken up Dalit Bandhu as a movement. It has already released Rs 2,000 crore for implementation of the scheme for all Dalit families in Huzurabad constituency.

Under the scheme, every beneficiary Dalit family will get Rs 10 lakh as grant and they will be free to choose their profession, self-employment or businesses for utilising the funds.

Addressing a public meeting on August 16 in Huzurabad constituency to launch the scheme, the chief minister had announced that the government will disburse over Rs 2,000 crore to 21,000 Dalit families in Huzurabad in the next two months.

He had also declared that all the 17 lakh Dalit families in the state will be benefited by the scheme.

The scheme implementation across the state for all Dalit families will cost Rs 1.7 lakh crore. He said the government will allocate Rs 30,000 crore to Rs 40,000 crore in the budget every year for 3 to 4 years.

Telangana becomes first state to launch drone trials for deliveries

1

Telangana became the first state in the country to launch a trial run for delivering vaccines by drones to healthcare centres in remote areas.

The two-day trial run of drones under the state government’s ‘Medicine from the Sky’ project began on Thursday in Vikarabad town.

Vikarabad District Collector K. Nikhila formally inaugurated the trial run in the parade ground.

Boxes weighing 2-3 kgs took off from the Vikarabad district hospital for primary healthcare centres 500 metres away, flying to an altitude of up to 400 feet.

“This is the first time in India that trial run is being conducted to use drone technology to deliver vaccines or medicines to remote areas,” she said.

The three-phase trial will see six flights a day, with each drone carrying 175 vaccines in temperature-controlled boxes.

The project will be formally launched on September 11 by Civil Aviation Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia and Telangana Industries and Information Technology Minister K.T. Rama Rao.

The ‘Medicine from the Sky’ is an initiative of the Telangana government, spearheaded by the Emerging Technologies Wing of the ITE&C Department, in partnership with World Economic Forum, NITI Aayog, and HealthNet Global (Apollo Hospitals).

The project entails undertaking experimental Beyond Visual Line of Sight (BVLOS) drone flights for delivery of vaccines using the identified airspace of the Vikarabad district.

The project has received the final regulatory nod from the Ministry of Civil Aviation.

Three of the eight selected consortia, namely Bluedart Med Express Consortium (Skye Air), Hepicopter Consortium (Marut Drones), and CurisFly Consortium (TechEagle Innovations), have already reached Vikarabad and have started testing of their drones, via VLOS and BVLOS flights.

With the launch, the consortia would continue to further test the endurance of their drones over increasing longer distances and heavier payloads to establish the reliability, officials said.

The project is first of its kind in India as it is the first organised BVLOS drone trials in the country and the same are being conducted in healthcare as the domain.

Indian drone delivery start-up firm Skye Air Mobility, which is a part of the consortium for the project, will conduct the majority of drone flights. Skye Air has joined hands with Blue Dart Express to provide drone-based delivery and drone flights to conduct these trials.

MFTS Project’s first two days of the trials will be flying in the visual line of sight, which involves drones flying between 500 to 700 meters from the base and they can be seen with the naked eye.

From September 11 onwards, BVLOS drone flights will take place for 9-10 km distances. These flights will be with consignments of vaccine, medical samples, and other healthcare items.

“We are extremely delighted to be a part of this project with the Telangana government and our tie-up with leading firms to give the first live demonstration trials which are being conducted in real time with real vaccines & medicines being carried,” Skye Air Mobility Co-Founder Swapnik Jakkampundi said.

Kokapet land auction scam reaches CBI!

1

TPCC chief A.Revanth Reddy on Friday (today) submitted a complaint to CBI director in Delhi alleging Rs 1,000 crore scam in the recent auction of Kokapet lands conducted by TRS government in Telangana.

Revanth requested CBI to investigate into this scam and bring culprits to the book.

He complained that Chief secretary Somesh Kumar, IT secretary Jayesh Ranjan, MAUD secretary Arvind Kumar assisted Chief Minister K.Chandrashekar Rao in siphoning off Rs 1,000cr public money by ensuring that friends and benamis of KCR bag Kokapet lands for cheaper rates in auction.

Revanth complained that all these three senior IAS officers are holding key positions in TRS government for the last seven years.

Revanth stated that though there was a provision to invite tenders through e-procurement website, the TRS government roped in MSTC firm to conduct auction and paid Rs 50cr commission to it.

Revanth complained that there was no transparency in the bidding, no details were given who took part in auction but in the end all the plots were bagged by My Home group, Rajapushpa group known to be close aides of KCR.

KCR’s extended Delhi trip now raises health concerns

0

Telangana Chief Minister K.Chandrashekar Rao continues to stay in Delhi even after eight days though there have been no official engagements for the past two days.

KCR left for Delhi on September 1. He laid foundation for construction of TRS office in Delhi on September 2.

Later he met, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on September 3 and union home minister Amit Shah on September 4.

There was no official programme on September 5. KCR met union road transport minister Nitin Gadkari and union jal shakti minister Gajendra Singh Shekhawat on September 6.

KCR was not seen anywhere after September 6 though he is in Delhi.

This triggered speculations about his health condition as reports came out that KCR is undergoing health check ups at a private hospital in Delhi.

He underwent eye and dental check ups on September 7.

TRS circles say KCR visited the hospital even today (Wednesday) and undergone health check ups.

But there is no official update from TRS or Chief Minister’s Office (CMO).

With this, TRS leaders and cadre are discussing his health condition.

KCR never stayed in Delhi for such a long tim earlier after he became CM in 2014. There is no clarity when he will return to Hyderabad though speculations are rife that he will return on Thursday.

KTR highlights Telangana’s IT initiatives before Parliamentary panel

1

The Parliamentary Standing Committee on Information Technology was on Wednesday briefed on Telangana’s initiatives in the sector.

Information Technology and Industries Minister K.T. Rama Rao highlighted the state’s IT ecosystem and the IT initiatives taken up by the government.

The committee, chaired by Congress MP Shashi Tharoor, had the meeting with the state minister and other officials as part of their study tour to Hyderabad.

The committee members included Karti P. Chidambaram, Jayadev Galla, Tejasvi Surya, Mahua Moitra, Chandan Singh, and G. Ranjith Reddy.

KTR, as the minister is popularly known, also felicitated Tharoor and other members of the committee on the occasion.

The panel on Tuesday visited T-Hub (Technology Hub), an innovation hub and ecosystem enabler, and the Telangana State Data Centre.

It got a glimpse of Telangana’s innovation ecosystems. Start-ups at T-Hub showcased their innovative solutions and shared how the state’s ecosystem has enabled them create impact.

Principal Secretary, Information Technology, Electronics and Communications, Jayesh Ranjan, briefed the parliamentary panel on the activities of T-Hub and its achievements.

Meanwhile, Tharoor on Wednesday shared on Twitter his views about the visit to ‘very impressive’ T-Hub. The panel also visited the second phase of the facility coming up at HITEC City.

“The Parliamentary Standing Committee on Information Technology visited the very impressive T-Hub in Hyderabad (Phase-2 under construction, hence the hard hats) which is already India’s largest incubation centre &will soon be the world’s second largest. Governor gives new twist to KCR on MLC issue!

0

Telangana governor Tamilisai Soundararajan gave a new twist to the ongoing controversy over TRS government nominating Padi Kaushik Reddy as MLC under Governor’s quota.

The Telangana cabinet meeting chaired by Chief Minister K.Chandrashekar Rao approved nomination of Padi Kaushik Reddy as MLC under Governor’s quota on August 1 and sent it to Governor for approval on the same day.

But Governor kept her approval on hold even after more than a month. However, she has maintained complete silence on this issue since then.

The governor on Wednesday (today) broke her silence on this issue for the first time.

She said that she was not happy with the Telangana government nominating Kaushik Reddy under Governor quota under social service category.

Governor said she will examine what social service Kaushik Reddy did before giving her approval. She further said that she will take more time to take a decision on this issue.

Already one month and one week passed since Kaushik Reddy’s name was sent to Raj Bhavan for approval and Governor seeking more time to give her nod reportedly angered CM KCR, who is waiting for the right time to strike against Governor if she rejects Kaushik’s nomination.

36-year Kaushik Reddy is a cricketer who flayed first class matches for Hyderabad and later entered politics. He joined Congress and contested against then TRS candidate Etela Rajender in Huzurabad in 2018 Assembly polls and lost. However, after Etela quit TRS and joined BJP in June this year forcing bypoll in Huzurabad, Kaushik Reddy quit Congress and joined TRS in July. KCR nominated him as MLC within ten days of joining TRS.

BJP in Telangana promises law to control population

1

Telangana Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) president Bandi Sanjay Kumar has promised that if voted to power in the state, the party will bring a population control legislation on the lines of a law proposed in Uttar Pradesh.

Sanjay made the promise while addressing a public meeting in Sangareddy district as part of his ‘Praja Sangrama Padayatra’.

“As the president of the BJP state unit, I am announcing that BJP will form the government in 2023 and we will bring the population control bill,” he said

Sanjay, who is also a member of the Lok Sabha, said the BJP’s policy is that one child is ideal and the maximum limit is two.

Uttar Pradesh proposed to bring a legislation soon to bar people with more than two children from contesting local elections.

The BJP leader also slammed the Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) government for implementing religion based reservation and alleged that this is causing gross injustice to the weaker sections.

Sanjay challenged Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao to enhance quota for Muslims. “KCR is trying to please MIM by increasing quantum of reservations for Muslims. BJP will not keep quiet. We will never allow this,” he said.

The MP, who launched his walkathon from a temple abutting historic Charminar in old city of Hyderabad on August 28, plans to cover 550 km till October 2.

Addressing public meetings during his padyatra, Sanjay has been hitting out at the TRS government for what he calls its failures on all fronts. He is also speaking about the BJP’s plans after forming the next government in the state.

However, the BJP leader has come under criticism from other parties for certain remarks made during the speech. Alleging that Sanjay is creating communal disharmony, the Congress party has urged the Director General of Police to restrict his padyatra.

Congress party’s state vice-president G. Niranjan has demanded action against the BJP MP for what he calls his attempts to spread communal hatred. He has taken strong exception to Sanjay’s statement that if voted to power in the state, BJP will distribute Nizam’s properties among the Hindus.

BJP has one rule for Motkupalli, another for Jitender Reddy

1

The political circles in Telangana are surprised that the BJP has neither called for an explanation nor initiated action against the four of its key leaders who had attended the YSR memorial meeting organised by YS Vijayamma. Leaders like former MP AP Jitender Reddy, former MLA Kuna Srisailam Goud, former DGP Dinesh Reddy and former GHMC mayor Banda Kartika Reddy had attended the meet. This has caused flutters in political circles.

Interestingly, the last time a BJP leader defied the party diktat and attended the meeting called by the leaders of other parties is when Motkupalli Narsimhulu attended the meeting called by KCR on Dalit Bandhu scheme. He was slammed and edged out of the party. He has since joined the TRS. The BJP, which was quick to react on Motkupalli issue, remained silent on four of its leaders attending the YSR memorial meet organised by Vijayamma. The party did not seek any explanation from them.

More interestingly, AP Jitender Reddy was in Huzurabad the very next day campaigning for Eatala Rajender. Kuna Srisailam Goud joined the yatra of Bandi Sanjay and hobnobbed with the top brass of the party. Banda Kartika Reddy was part of a party meeting the very next day. None in the BJP asked them about their attending the politically significant meet called by the YS family. What is interesting is that there was no diktat from the BJP leadership over attending YSR memorial meet. The quartet did not even inform the party about their decision to attend the meet.

Political observers are questioning this strategy of the Telangana BJP. Why was there such a strong action against Motkupally and why this complete inaction when the Reddy leaders attended YSR memorial meet? This is now being hotly debated in the lower rungs of the party.

Telangana releases Rs 73 crore for welfare of handloom weavers

0

The Telangana government has released Rs 73.5 crore for the welfare of handloom weavers and ancillary workers towards various schemes that are being implemented in the state, state Industry Minister K. T. Rama Rao announced on Tuesday.

He said the state government was taking up measures to ensure institutional and structural development of handlooms sector in the state and different welfare schemes and programmes are being implemented accordingly.

As per the instructions of Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao, measures are being taken to ensure the monthly income of the workers is over Rs 15,000, he said.

At a review meeting with Handloom Department officials, the minister said that following the implementation of different programmes by the state government, monthly income of handloom and ancillary workers had increased, and their living standards have improved.

Following a few requests made by handlooms workers to the minister, a meeting was held last month with Finance Minister Harish Rao and senior officials from the Handlooms Department. The minister on Tuesday conducted another meeting and responded positively to the requests made by handlooms workers.

During the meeting, KTR, as the minister is popularly known, reviewed the progress and implementation of all the schemes. He said the department would take all measures to release the funds sanctioned to workers at the earliest.

These government schemes are also helping the weavers have continuous work throughout the year, he added.

KTR had detailed review of schemes which include the Telangana Handloom Weavers Thrift Fund Saving and Security Scheme (TFSSS), 20 per cent Price Subsidy on hank yarn, dyes and Chemicals, Pavala Vaddi scheme, Marketing Support Schemes, Chenetha Mitra Scheme, and the Cash Credit Support Scheme.

Parliamentary committee on IT visits Hyderabad’s T-Hub

0

The Parliamentary Standing Committee on Information Technology on Tuesday visited T-Hub (Technology Hub), an innovation hub and ecosystem enabler in Hyderabad and the Telangana State Date Centre.

During the study visit to the T-Hub, the panel led by Congress’ Shashi Tharoor got a glimpse of Telangana’s innovation ecosystems.

Start-ups at T-Hub showcased their innovative solutions and shared how the state’s ecosystem has enabled them create impact.

The committee members Tharoor, Karti P. Chidambaram, Jayadev Galla, Tejasvi Surya, Mahua Moitra, Chandan Singh, and G. Ranjith Reddy went around the campus and interacted with the startups and other ecosystem stakeholders.

State Principal Secretary, Information Technology, Electronics and Communications, Jayesh Ranjan, briefed the panel members on the activities of T-Hub and its achievements.

Chidambaram termed T-Hub a very impressive and effective initiative.

“This is a model which must be replicated, especially in TN. It was enlightening to interact with the T-Hub team & the startups that are incubated there,” tweeted the MP from Tamil Nadu.

He was all praise for Telangana Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao and former Chief Ministers of undivided Andhra Pradesh, N. Chandrababu Naidu and Y. S. Rajasekhara Reddy. “Must compliment Chandrababu, YSR & KCR for the sustained efforts & continuity in building world-class infrastructure for IT in Hyderabad,” he wrote.

T-Hub, which leads India’s pioneering innovation ecosystem, claims to be creating an impact for start-ups, corporations and other innovation ecosystem stakeholders. Incorporated in 2015, it has provided over 1,500 national and international start-ups with access to better technology, talent, mentors, customers, corporates, investors, and government agencies.

Amit Shah to visit Telangana on Sep 17 to address Liberation Day event

0

Union Home Minister Amit Shah will visit Telangana on September 17 to attend a public meeting in Nirmal district to coincide with the Telangana Liberation Day.

BJP leader and party MP from Adilabad, Soyam Bapu Rao, said on Tuesday that Shah will address the meeting at Veyi Udala Marri. The saffron party is making elaborate arrangements for the public meeting.

State BJP president Bandi Sanjay will pause his ongoing ‘padyatra’ for a day to attend the public meeting.

The meeting is also being seen as part of BJP’s campaign for ensuing elections to the Huzurabad Assembly seat.

The BJP has long been demanding that the government should officially celebrate Telangana Liberation Day.

Governments in undivided Andhra Pradesh and the TRS government after the formation of Telangana in 2014, however, had turned down the demand on the ground that this could lead to communal trouble.

On September 17, 1948, the then Hyderabad state was merged with the Indian Union following India’s military action ‘Operation Polo’, popularly known as ‘police action’.

Every year, BJP workers try to hoist the national flag at government offices and public places to press for their demand for officially celebrating the day. The BJP has alleged that the ruling party is scared of the All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM).

The public meeting to be addressed by Shah will be held at Veyi Udala Marri. It is said that Nizam’s ‘Razakars’ (volunteers) had allegedly killed 1,000 people fighting against Nizam’s government near a banyan tree at Udala Marri. The place later came to be known as Veyi Udala Marri.

KCR reviews Telangana flood situation from Delhi

0

Telangana Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao (KCR), who is on a visit to New Delhi, on Tuesday reviewed the situation in the state in view of heavy rains.

Rao spoke to Chief Secretary Somesh Kumar over the phone to review the situation and issued directions. The Chief Minister wanted the District Collectors and the state administration to remain alert and take appropriate measures.

With rivulets and lakes overflowing due to incessant rains, Rao directed that departments be alerted to minimise the inconvenience to people in flood-affected villages and mandals.

Since continuous rains are likely to affect the electricity supply, roads, storm water drains, KCR directed the officials of departments concerned to be put on alert.

Municipal administration, panchayat raj, roads and buildings, and electricity departments were directed to alert the entire staff, from the officials to employees working at the lowest level.

The Chief Minister has instructed that since projects, lakes and tanks are overflowing due to heavy rains, steps must be taken to ensure that people living in low-lying areas do not suffer. He directed that the officials of Water Resources department be asked to remain alert.

KCR also directed the state Chief Secretary to undertake rescue and relief measures in affected areas by making alternate arrangements. He said in view of the alert by the Meteorological department, disaster management teams must be kept ready to rescue those stranded in affected areas.

The Chief Minister urged the public representatives to help the affected people in coordination with the state administration.

He appealed to the people in rain-affected areas not to come out of their houses in view of incessant rains.

As Siricilla drowns in rain water fury, KTR busy with ‘politics’ at Necklace Road!

1

TRS working president and IT minister Rama Rao’s constituency Siricilla in Undivided Karimnagar district is drowned in rainwater due to incessant rains for the past three days.

Siricilla town is the headquarters of the Siricilla district.

Sircilla town is completely inundated. All the roads and colonies in Siricilla town resemble lakes and tanks.

People are facing severe hardships with no power and food and flood water entering their houses.

However, Siricilla MLA KTR has no time to focus on his constituency to come to the rescue of his people as he is busy at Necklace Road in Hyderabad.

TRS organised a huge public meeting on Tuesday (today) to stregthen party in TRS and constitute division party committees and basti committees under GHMC limits which was attended by all ministers, TRS MLAs, MLCs and MPs under GHMC limits.

All the leaders are competing with each other to shower praises on KTR.

KTR’s office simply issued a press release stating that KTR issued instructions to Siricilla district collector and SP to take rescue measures in flood-hit areas.

The new integrated collectorate building complex constructed in Siricilla which was inaugurated by CM KCR recently in June has been drowned in floods.

With this, the collector, SP and other officials are not in a position to work from their offices.

Locals are angry at KTR for giving importance to politics at a time when they are in dire need of help from their local MLA and minister.

Drop Telangana irrigation projects from unapproved list: KCR

0

Telangana Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao on Monday called on Union Jal Shakti Minister Gajendra Singh Shekhawat and urged him to drop 11 projects from the list of unapproved projects in Godavari basin in the notification issued by the Union ministry last month.

During his meeting with Shekhawat in New Delhi, Rao said the 11 projects mentioned as unapproved in Godavari basin as per the gazette notification dated July 15 were started before formation of Telangana and are within the 967.94 TMC share of the state.

Out of this allocation, projects for 758.76 TMC are already cleared by the Central Water Commission (CWC) and water availability has been cleared by the Hydrology Directorate for another 148.82 TMC. The balance allocation of 60.26 TMC has been kept as a reserve for future projects, evaporation losses etc, the Chief Minister said in a letter submitted to the Union Minister.

He also contended that the additional 1 TMC/day of Kaleshwaram project is not an additional nor a new project, and has only been taken up with state government funds to utilise the 240 TMC allocation made to the Kaleshwara project by the CWC, within a shorter time period, and as such, does not require any approval of the Central government.

“Kandakurthy LIS is a minor scheme serving an ayacut of 3,300 acres and does not require any appraisal. The Ramappa Pakhal Link and Tupakulagudem barrage, which are part of the Devadula Project, do not require any new approval. The Gudem LIS is a part of the approved Kaddam project, constructed to serve the tail end areas and does not need any approval. Finally Kanthanapally, which is non-existent, may also be dropped from the list of unapproved projects,” the letter added.

Rao urged Shekhawat to issue appropriate directions to the Godavari River Management Board (GRMB) and the CWC for taking immediate action.

Former minister Etela Rajender has quit TRS to join BJP in June.

1

Etela joined BJP with the hope that the BJP national leadership will ensure the early conduct of bypoll for Huzurabad Assembly seat vacated by him.

Rajender specifically brought to the notice of BJP national leadership that his victory will be certain if bypolls are held early and it will be an advantage for TRS if they are delayed.

Rajender expected Huzurabad bypoll to be held in September along with West Bengal bypolls. But the Election Commission on Saturday issued West Bengal bypolls notification but kept Huzurabad bypoll on hold until festival season is over.

The festival season in Telangana ends with Diwali on November 4. This would mean that Etela has to wait till November-end for Huzurabad bypoll.

Etela has already incurred huge expenditure to keep his followers and cadre intact since he was sacked from KCR’s cabinet in May. The TRS is luring leaders and cadre away from him by offering good packages and posts.

In the last four months, Etela’s funds have reportedly dried up to maintain his followers and cadre in Huzurabad and is struggling to mobilise more funds to maintain this tempo for another three months.

Etela reportedly told BJP leaders that CM KCR has the advantage of spending thousands of crores of public money in the name of development programmes and welfare schemes like Dalit Bandhu in Huzurabad since May and he too was forced to spend crores of rupees to maintain his followers and cadre.

Etela is said to have asked BJP leaders how can he compete with KCR in funds and spend more funds personally if election is delayed further. He said all his money will go down the drain even if he spends because TRS will win if elections are delayed.

After failure of Vijayamma’s meet, Sharmila plans Pada Yatra

1

How to get political mileage for YS Sharmila? This is the biggest question tormenting both YS Vijayamma and Sharmila alike. Their attempt to break new ground with the help of a YSR memorial meet in Hyderabad has ended up as a dud. It failed to get any mileage. The meeting is already forgotten as it could not make an impression at all.

Her Tuesday protests on the issue of unemployment are also failing to cut any ice. It is neither making any news nor helping in building Brand Sharmila. Despite all her attempts, YS Sharmila is still essentially seen as an outsider. Her attempts to project herself as a daughter-in-law of Telangana too have not succeeded. To top it all, her party does not have any name worth mentioning apart from Sharmila. This is turning out to be a huge problem for her.

The latest about YS Sharmila is that she is planning to undertake a padayatra on the issue of Dalits. She is now said to be planning to take out a pada yatra for 100 days. If sources are to be believed, the yatra will begin from October 18. The Yatra will cover the whole state. Sources say that she will explain the people about the schemes that she would put in place if she comes to power. The focal point would be Dalit emancipation, sources say.

YS Sharmila did a massive padayatra in 2012 when YS Jagan was in Chanchalguda jail. Incidentally, even that yatra was launched on October 18. Sources say that Sharmila will launch the yatra from Chevella. She is hoping that this yatra will bring her onto the centre stage of Telangana politics. Let’s wait and see if it revives her sagging fortunes.

Now, KCR wooing Reddys with Reddy Corporation!

1

TRS chief and Telangana Chief Minister K.Chandrashekar Rao is leaving no stone unturned to win Huzurabad Assembly bypoll.

After wooing Dalits, who are a majority in Huzurabad Assembly constituency with Dalit Bandhu scheme by sanctioning Rs 2,000 crore to extend Rs 10 lakh each to all 20,000 Dalit families, KCR is now trying to woo Reddy’s.

Reddy’s constitute a significant number of voters in Huzurabad constituency after Dalits and Backward Classes.

Finance minister T.Harish Rao on Sunday (today) said the CM has decided to construct one Reddy function hall in every mandal of Huzurabad constituency to enable Reddy’s to conduct meetings and functions.

Harish said he will lay foundation for construction of Reddy community hall in Huzurabad town in the presence of 10,000 Reddys in the constituency.

Not only this, Harish said CM directed officials to submit proposals for setting up Reddy Corporation for the welfare of Reddy community.

Harish said CM will announce Reddy Corporation with Rs 1,000 crore funds in the next State Budget 2022-22 in March 2022.

TRS leaders feel that Reddy Corporation will help TRS to get closer to Reddy community who otherwise are traditional Congress supporters in Telangana.

After Revanth Reddy was appointed as TPCC chief in June, the Reddy community in Telangana is leaning towards Congress and TRS wants to check this trend by attracting Reddys into its fold through Reddy Corporation.

Bandi Sanjay’s Yatra: This is BJP’s biggest worry

1

A successful padayatra, a fire-spitting leader and extensive support from the higher-ups. Yet, there is a speck of doubt and disbelief in the Telangana BJP over the Praja Sangrama Yatra that it is conducting right now. The party is worried about whether it would be able to continue the tempo till the end. The party is apprehensive whether the enthusiasm seen in the urban areas will be matched by interest in the rural areas.

The Telangana BJP is enthused by the fact that the response to the launch of the yatra was beyond expectation. The turnout was impressive. But this is now the cause of worry for the party. Will the party be able to sustain the same interest till the end – is the question troubling the party. The yatra is now entering into the rural interiors. The party has fixed targets for crowd mobilisation. Special committees have been formed to ensure the turnout and details of how far the crowds will travel, what kind of cultural bands should accompany the yatra are being worked. Till now, the response has been good as it is in and around Hyderabad, where the party has considerable influence.

Now the yatra is entering into the rural areas and the party is worried if the yatra would get the same kind of response in the interior areas too. If it fails to draw the crowds, then the TRS and the Congress will ridicule the yatra and say that the BJP is the party of the cities. The party would have to do a lot of explaining if the yatra failed to enthuse the people in the rural areas.

Hence the party is now said to be planning mobilisation from the centres of its influence to the rural areas to ensure a good turnout. The units in the main cities have reportedly been asked to mobilise crowds for nearby rural areas so that the yatra does not appear to be an insipid affair. Incharges have been appointed for different rural centres to ensure a decent turnout.

The Telangana government will take steps for 100 per cent vaccination of teaching and non-teaching staff of government and private schools across the state.

Chief Secretary Somesh Kumar on Friday directed the Collectors and district officials to ensure vaccination of the entire teaching and non-teaching staff of the government schools and private schools.

He also asked them to ensure vaccination of the schools bus drivers, mid-day meal staff, cleaning staff and others (adults) who are associated with the schools.

The Chief Secretary held a teleconference with District Collectors, Additional Collectors, district medical and health officers and other officials to review the situation with reopening of schools.

He reviewed the details of students’ attendance and vaccination of teachers. He instructed officials to make sure that every school places a banner stating all the teaching and non-teaching staff are completely vaccinated and the school is following Covid-19 appropriate behaviour.

He instructed the Collectors to ensure all schools follow the Covid appropriate behaviour and proper hygiene measures. He said cleaning of schools should be taken up daily.

If any student/teacher/school worker found with any of the Covid symptoms, the person should be taken to nearest hospitals/primary health centre immediately for Covid test. In case any school is found with Covid positive cases, proper isolation measures should be taken up.

Somesh Kumar also directed the officials to ensure strict and proper precautions during the midday meal programme.

Rashtriya Bal Swasthya Karyakram (RBSK) vehicles will be used for vaccinating the leftover teaching staff/adults who are associated with the schools.

The government and private schools, except residential schools, reopened on September 1. However, the schools have been directed not to compel students to attend the offline classes.

On the direction of High Court, he government also left it to schools to decide whether to conduct only offline classes or only online classes or both.
