Telugu360 has exclusively learned that the entire Tollywood is all set to come on to a common stand very soon. Tollywood’s one last try for Ticket Prices

Tollywood’s crucial Guild Meet: What Happened?

0

When things are going extremely fine in Telugu cinema, several films are heading for a clash in the upcoming months. Nani’s Shyam Singha Roy was announced for December 24th a month ago and now Varun Tej’s boxing drama is all set to release on the same day. Nani and his team are strict on their stand about the release date of the film. At the same time, RRR, Bheemla Nayak and Radhe Shyam are heading for release in a week’s gap. Accommodating theatres for three biggies is an unusual task and there are speculations that the Producers Guild met yesterday to discuss about how to avoid clashes.

Several gossip portals even reported that crucial decisions are taken after the makers of Bheemla Nayak decided not to walk out of Sankranthi race. Some of them also reported that Radhe Shyam will hit the screens during the Republic Day weekend. We have come to know that no Guild meeting took place yesterday. There are too many speculations going on for now. The season starts again with Balakrishna’s Akhanda that will release on December 2nd.

December and January are packed with releases for now and we have to wait for some more time to get a clarity on the final release dates of the announced films.

Tollywood big shots meet to discuss Sankranthi release clashes

0

With big-ticket movies like ‘RRR’, ‘Radhe Shyam’, and ‘Bheemla Nayak’ in the race during Sankranthi season, the traders of Tollywood are confused about a few things.

Andhra Pradesh’s ticket prices issue on one hand and the huge competition among the biggies on the other hand have become a headache for the producers, distributors, theater owners, and other movie traders.

Ram Charan and NTR-starrer ‘RRR’, Prabhas and Pooja Hegde-starrer ‘Radhe Shyam’, Pawan Kalyan, Rana Daggubati-starrer ‘Bheemla Nayak’ and one more biggie are on the list of the movies which are set to hit the screens during Sankranthi.

With all the biggies in this competition, there is no possibility of theaters being available for all the movies in the Telugu states. And, if negative talk creeps out about any of these movies after the release, the distributors will face heavy losses and will have to give away theatres. Keeping all the factors in mind, the big shots of the industry have arranged a meeting to discuss resolutions.

It is reported that there would be major changes in the release dates of the above-listed movies, along with other business-related resolutions.

Makers of Mahesh Babu’s ‘Sarkaru Vaari Paata’ realised the risk factors earlier, and hence averted the box-office clash, postponing the movie to April 1.

The new guidelines about the ticket sales and the new ticket pricing GO will be out very soon. Tollywood Business: Drastic changes post Pandemic

Tollywood has been registering huge theatrical shares like never before in the recent years and the market expanded widely. It is then the film industry faced a shock through the coronavirus pandemic. The exhibition industry is shattered and the producers are under stress because of the heaped-up interests. Films like Krack, Uppena, Jathi Ratnalu, SR Kalyanamandapam and Love Story left the buyers in profits and the rest of them fell short of the expectations. The equations after the pandemic changed completely. The ticket pricing GO issued by the government of Andhra Pradesh turned out to be a dent for the revenues in the state.

The non-theatrical rights for films featuring stars and directed by prominent directors have seen a remarkable rise. These turned out to be the major strength for producers. Most of them made profits despite their films having a poor run in theatres. The theatrical market is slowly shrinking. The distributors are not ready to pay hefty amounts post-pandemic. A section of audience are still not ready to watch the films in theatres because of the pandemic and some of them are staying away because of the early digital release of films.

Though the cap of the digital release was fixed as 56 days from the date of theatrical release, the movies are streamed early. This is having an impact on the theatrical revenues of Telugu films. Even films like RRR are facing the heat from the distributors. The negotiations are currently on as the distributors are wanting a cut in the deals. For big-ticket films, the theatrical revenue plays a crucial role though the non-theatrical rights recover apart of the budget. The stars are not ready to cut down their paycheque even when producers are struggling with stress.

It is quite important to save the exhibition industry and the theatrical business at this time. The producers should come up with a plan to control the remunerations and budgets to stay in business for a longer time.

Tollywood stars continue to announce new Films

0

The coronavirus pandemic shattered the film industry but Tollywood recovered well and the audience are rushing to theatres to watch good films. Tollywood stars are in demand like never before and every actor signed 3-4 new films in recent months. Most of the stars are also taking hefty advances from filmmakers. Considering their demand, the producers too are paying advances and locking stars. Films without stars have not fared well in recent months.

Ram Charan signed two new films and he is now occupied till the end of 2023. Samantha announced two new films on Dasara’s eve and several other actors are busy signing projects. Nani has two projects and he announced Dasara. All the young and top actors are occupied for the next two years and they are keen to work without any breaks to wrap up their commitments. Star directors too are in demand and they are penning scripts and locking new films.

The Indian market is yet to reopen completely but Tollywood has a new trend now. No Tollywood actor slashed down his remuneration after the pandemic arrived. Some of them even hiked their fee which indicates their demand. Despite the coronavirus pandemic, Tollywood stars are in their best phase currently.

No major breakthrough in ED Investigation against Tollywood

0

The names of several Tollywood celebrities got surfaced in the drugs case in the year 2017. The Telangana government formed a Special Investigation Team (SIT) and investigated the issue for months. The samples of blood, hair and nails are collected from all the celebrities who are investigated. Soon, the SIT announced that there is no evidence found in this case. After four years, the Enforcement Directorate served notices for 12 Tollywood celebrities and the investigation is on. The ED officials are investigating in the angle of how the transactions are done if drugs are purchased. Till date, Puri Jagannadh, Ravi Teja, Rana Daggubati, Charmee, Rakul Preet Singh and Navdeep are investigated. We have to wait to see if the investigation takes a new turn soon. Real Reasons: Why are Kollywood actors focused on Telugu Cinema?

0

Several Tollywood actors tried to succeed in Tamil cinema and tested their luck. But most of them ended up unsuccessful. But Tamil actors like Rajinikanth, Kamal Haasan, Suriya, Vikram, Ajith, Karthi, Vishal, Vijay, Dhanush and others made up decent market and headed for simultaneous release in Telugu along with Tamil. Most of them lost their market because of the poor show of their films. The latest trend is that actors like Vijay, Dhanush and Suriya are signing straight Telugu films. Dhanush has signed four Telugu projects in a row. All these four films will be directed by Telugu directors.

Vijay will work with Vamshi Paidipally soon and Suriya will work with Boyapati Srinu next year. The film fraternity and the audience are left in shock with the sudden move. Going deep into the issue, after the arrival of the pandemic, most of the active producers of Tamil turned inactive. There are hardly 4-5 production houses that are keen to produce films with stars. Also, the Tamil market is badly hit in all the available ways because of the pandemic. The non-theatrical rights too are not fetching huge prices like in the past and the actors are asked to slash down their remuneration.

But things are different in Tollywood. The asking prices for the non-theatrical prices are increased and the entire nation is focused on Telugu films. The Telugu producers are also welcoming neighboring stars and are paying huge remunerations. This would be a golden opportunity for Vijay, Dhanush as they can expand their market in Telugu states and cement their position in Tollywood. They are even drawing a huge remuneration which is higher than the pay they are getting in Tamil. Hence, the Tamil stars are now focused on Tollywood and are keen to work with Telugu directors and producers.
