Aryan Khan gets a huge relief in Drugs Case

0

Shah Rukh Khan’s son Aryan Khan was arrested in a drugs case and was drilled for days. He was sent to the custody and was granted bail after weeks. The Narcotics Control Bureau wanted the youngster to appear before the office every Friday. Aryan Khan challenged this in the Bombay High Court and the youngster received a huge relief. The court asked Aryan Khan to appear before the officials in New Delhi during the investigation whenever he is called.

Aryan Khan argued that his case was moved to a Special Investigation Team in Delhi and his visit to Mumbai office makes no sense. The court announced its decision and Aryan got a relief finally. He was arrested on October 2nd from a Mumbai-based cruise that is on its way to Goa. The preliminary investigation revealed that Aryan Khan was a consumer of drugs though the officials could not recover any banned drugs from Aryan Khan. He was granted bail by the Bombay High Court on October 28th. The NCB officials produced the WhatsApp chats of Aryan Khan as proof.

Opposing bail, NCB says Aryan Khan tried to tamper with evidence, influence witnesses

0

The Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) on Tuesday filed its reply and strongly opposed the bail plea of Aryan Khan, son of Bollywood megastar Shah Rukh Khan, before the Bombay High Court.

Contending that the bail plea is devoid of merit and must be dismissed, the NCB said that investigations have revealed Khan’s international links which show that he is not a mere consumer as claimed by him, prima facie point towards illegal drug procurements.

Referring to the affidavit of a ‘Panch-Witness’ Prabhakar Sail, the NCB termed it as “clear instances of tampering, influencing witnesses in the midst of an ongoing investigation” and Khan’s bail plea should be rejected on this ground alone.

It stated that Shah Rukh Khan’s manager Pooja Dadlani appears to have influenced the Panch-Witness and as soon as this glaring fact came to light, the NCB immediately moved the Special NDPS Court on Monday (October 25).

The NCB reply and the bail plea is now slated to be argued by Khan’s lawyers, former Attorney General of India Mukul Rohatgi, along with senior advocates like Amit Desai and Satish Maneshinde.

Simultaneously, besides Aryan Khan, the bail pleas of two other accused, Arbaaz Merchant and Munmun Dhamecha are also expected to come up for hearing today, as all have been sent to judicial custody till October 30 by the Special NDPS Court.

Wankhede leaves for Delhi amid bribe allegations, NCB to initiate probe

0

A three-member team led by the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) Mumbai zonal director Sameer Wankhede, who led the cruise ship drug bust involving Shah Rukh Khan’s son Aryan Khan, left for Delhi on Monday amid bribe allegations against him. Meanwhile, the NCB vigilance unit head DDG NR Gyaneshwar Singh said that the agency will initiate an inquiry into the allegations of ‘extortion’ made by an independent witness in the drug case.

Singh said he will record the statements and analyze the evidence given by the witness, Prabhakar Sail, and submit a comprehensive report to the NCB. He said that certain facts have been reported through social media by the independent witness.

On being asked whether Wankhede will remain in his post as it can impact the inquiry, he said we will make a decision on the evidence found during the inquiry. “We are a professional agency and whenever we notice a thing to be enquired, we will do the inquiry”, he said. The vigilance chief added that they would continue to fight the drug menace despite the personal attacks and accusations against the anti-drug trafficking body.

Wankhede has been summoned to the national capital by the NCB Director General to provide an explanation about the stunning allegations levelled by the cruiser ship raid’s ‘panch-witness’ Prabhakar Sail on Sunday. However, the agency has termed it as a routine meeting with the top brass.

Shah Rukh Khan’s son Aryan Khan has been arrested by the officials of NCB on October 3rd, a day after he was taken into custody from a cruise in Mumbai. A series of arrests are made after the investigation commenced. Aryan Khan’s bail petition was denied several times and the hearing in the Bombay High Court will take place on October 26th. The officials of NCB visited the residence of Shah Rukh Khan recently and they wanted the actor to submit the details of the bank accounts, medical records and the foreign visits of Aryan Khan.

No drug chats between Aryan Khan-Ananya Panday: NCB sources

0

Despite the brouhaha over Ananya Panday’s grilling by the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB), official sources hinted on Friday that there is apparently no evidence of any ‘drug-related exchanges’ in her alleged WhatsApp chats with Aryan Khan, the son of Bollywood megastar Shah Rukh Khan.

The sources reluctantly divulged that there are ‘no traces or references’ of any Marijuana (Ganja) or weed-related chat in the two star-kids’ WhatsApp communication being scanned in-depth by the NCB.

More likely, Ananya is being questioned for her version by the NCB for some different leads it has collected in the case, but the officials decline to elaborate.

The latest disclosure comes in the wake of certain unconfirmed media reports claiming the emergence of at least three purported WhatsApp chats between the two star-kids allegedly discussing drugs, etc. which the NCB was probing now.

In a surprise addition to the ongoing investigations into the October 2 rave party raid aboard a cruise ship, the NCB ‘visited’ the home of Ananya Panday and slapped her with a summons.

Acting promptly on Thursday, accompanied by her father and veteran actor Chunky Panday, Ananya went to the NCB and was questioned for over 2 hours by half a dozen officials, and has been summoned again this day (October 22).

The developments came even as a Special NDPS Court Judge V.V. Patil extended the judicial custody of Khan and 7 others arrested on October 3, till October 30. Khan’s bail plea will come up before the Bombay High Court on October 26.

Earlier on Thursday, Shah Rukh Khan had made a high-glare visit to son Aryan in the Arthur Road Central Jail where he spent a few minutes with him, and later an NCB team ‘visited’ his Bandra bungalow, setting tongues wagging.

This prompted the veteran Bollywood actress and TV hostess Simi Garewal, 75, to come out in indirect support of Aryan, Ananya and others vide a cryptic tweet: “In a population of 1,397,642,731 – they can only find these 6 or 8 young Bollywood stars to target for drugs??”

Meanwhile, after nabbing at least 20 people till date in the cruise ship raid case, the NCB has not ruled out making further arrests as the investigations widen and progress.
