People feeling unsafe at Govt quarantine centres, says Naidu

1

Former Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu has accused the Jaganmohan Reddy government of not providing the required basic facilities for the Coronavirus patients at the government quarantine centres. The ruling YCP was making tall claims of spending huge amounts of funds for recovery of Covid patients but the facilities being provided in the field level were far from satisfactory.

The TDP chief said in a Twitter post that the people’s fears and insecurities were increasing on seeing the deteriorating conditions at the quarantine centres. The Government should explain why the facilities were of very poor quality when huge funds were being spent. It was not correct for the ruling party to play games with the lives of the people.

Mr. Naidu asserted that any Government should take up such activities that would create confidence among the people about the services being rendered. Such a situation was not prevailing in the state. The TDP efficiently provided best services at Anna Canteens by involving a proven organisation like Akshaya Patra Foundation.

The TDP chief advised the CM to prove its commitment to public service in deeds but not in words or statements. Mr. Naidu made this criticism in response to a video that showed patients at a quarantine centre complaining about poor quality of food and other services there. Both men and women patients flayed the Government and the officials for not providing even basic facilities for them.

Govt failed to save Tenali doctor: Naidu

0

Telugu Desam Party National President and former Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu on Friday slammed the Jaganmohan Reddy Government for pushing the state into a helpless situation where it could not save a life-giving doctor when he was falling victim to Coronavirus in Tenali town in Guntur district.

Mr. Naidu said the doctor emotionally pleaded for better treatment so that he would be able to live to care of his children and family members but, unfortunately, no timely help was provided.

In a statement here, the TDP chief said that the sad state of affairs in Andhra Pradesh was evident from how the Government Doctors’ Association has written a letter to the AP Chief Secretary, saying that they would not be able to work where there was no respect for doctors. Many unsavoury incidents took place. The Prakasam District Medical and Health Officer was made to stand for coming late for the review meeting. Anantapuram DMHO was personally humiliated. The DMHOs of Srikakulam and Nellore were being forced to go on leave.

Mr. Naidu said that the doctors association narrated their problems, saying that they were unable to render their services under these deteriorating conditions. No ex gratia was given to the kin of the doctors who died in Vijayawada, Tenali and Nellore. Unfortunate things were happening across the state. The doctors held a dharna in Visakhapatnam for masks. Lab technicians protested in Ongole demanding personal protection kits. Just for asking for mask, Dalit Doctor Sudhakar was beaten in the middle of the road with lathis and humiliated. Indecent videos were leaked on Dr. Anitha Rani in Chittoor.

Stating that no other state was humiliating doctors like in AP, Mr. Naidu termed as condemnable the harassment of doctors who were risking their own lives in order to save people’s lives. It was painful to see AP standing at the bottom in Coronavirus cases recovery rate in the country. The Government’s negligence was disturbing everyone.
Mr. Naidu deplored that instead of rescuing people by encouraging frontline warriors, the YCP Government was busy indulging in irregularities and scams everywhere. On the one hand, the Coronavirus cases were rapidly increasing in the State. On the other, the ruling party leaders’ corruption scams were growing in all programmes and projects at a greater speed. At least now, the Government should leave its adamant attitude and start giving compensation to doctors and staff who died in the line of duty. PPE kits should be provided to all the frontline workers.

Police and Govt harassment caused Dalit farmer’s death: Naidu

1

Former Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu has termed as inhuman the way the policemen watched as silent spectators when poor Dalit farmer Venkataiah ended his life by consuming pesticide at Venkannapalem in Nellore district.
Mr. Naidu said the farmer took the extreme step following endless harassment and police highhandedness. It is learnt that the constables verbally abused and physically assaulted the farmer while he was working on his land. Feeling humiliated, he quickly swallowed the pesticide that was to be used for the crop.

The TDP chief took to Twitter and said that the YCP Government’s anti-people policies were taking a heavy toll on the people. The Dalit farmer in Nellore Dist consumed poison owing to harassment of police and revenue officials despite a High Court order prohibiting the Government from taking his land in Survey No. 131.

Strongly condemning the incidents, Mr. Naidu said: “It is ghastly to see officials take revenge on a hapless man who went to court against them. They have not only worked against the directives of the Hon’ble High Court but have also violated the human rights of the farmer by resorting to physical violence & verbal abuse.”

Mr. Naidu slammed the policemen who watched as mute spectators instead of rushing the hapless farmer to the hospital. The TDP would stand in support of Venkataiah and make sure that the erring officials are punished without fail. These inhuman acts must be strongly condemned by the civil society.

YCP committing scams in pro-poor schemes, says Chandrababu

0

Former Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu on Tuesday accused the ruling YSR Congress Party leaders of making empty promises only to betray the poorer sections of society after coming to power. Mr. Naidu condemned the demolition of the foundations laid for the houses of poor beneficiaries in Kuppam constituency. It was only after the TDP came to power that pucca houses were being built for the poor families in the State.

Addressing virtually the victims who protested in front of the Kuppam MRO office, the TDP chief said that their party was waging a struggle against corruption in house sites distribution and related land acquisition. As a responsible Opposition, the TDP was fighting for house sites to the poor families. NT Rama Rao dreamt of seeing all poor families to have a permanent house. Prior to that, the poor families were exposed to hot summers and shivering winters due to lack of a strong roof over their heads.

Stating that every poor man should have a confidence to live in his own house, Mr. Naidu said that each house should serve as a big asset. But, there was widespread corruption in housing scheme during 2004-`09. Over 14 lakh houses disappeared with no trace in the United AP state as the leaders encashed the bills without even constructing these houses. At that time, Rs. 5,000 Cr scam was committed in housing scams. Under TDP rule, construction of 10 lakh houses was completed during 2014-`19. The YCP cancelled 4.37 lakh houses as soon as they came to power.

Mr. Naidu pointed out that the TDP gave house sites of nearly 2.5 cents to 3 cents but now the YCP has reduced the size to just 1 cent. The TDP increased the house area from 400 sft to 750 sft. Financial assistance was given for repairs of poor families’ houses also. Mass house warming was done for lakhs of houses meant for poor. The Government should explain why the poor people’s houses were demolished in Kuppam assembly segment.

The TDP chief deplored that after YCP came to power, the assignment lands of BCs, SCs and STs were being taken back forcibly. The housing bills were not being paid. In Kuppam, over 27 SC families’ houses were demolished. The previous government gave an undertaking to each poor family that each house would be built at a cost of Rs. 5 lakh. Housing units were the rights of poor people but this YCP Government was taking the extreme step of cancelling even the house site pattas. The ruling party was committing scams in the allotment of house sites in low-lying lands, flood-prone areas and also in mangroves which are unfit for human habitation.

Mr. Naidu asked the revenue officials how the previous pattas given to the beneficiaries were cancelled. He did not accept the explanation that new house sites would be given to the poor beneficiaries at the same place where their houses were demolished. It seems there was no end to the misdeeds and atrocities under this YCP Government. The pattas were being given to the poor people and their houses were being brought down at the same time. It was unfortunate that such demolitions and atrocities were carried out in the assembly segment of the main Opposition leader and former Chief Minister.

Mr. Naidu said that house construction was taken up for 2,000 families in 8 panchayats in Kuppam segment. For this, 27 acres land was acquired and levelled at a cost of Rs. 100 Cr. Those houses were at various stages of completion. The victims told Naidu that they were facing problems with latest demolitions taken up by the Government. They deplored that the officials demolished the houses after surrendering to the pressure brought by the YCP leaders.
The TDP chief demanded that another Rs. 40,000 each would be required for construction foundations for these houses. The officials should reconstruct the houses and hand over the same to the beneficiaries.

Naidu plea for Modi intervention against Jagan destructive 3 Capitals

Former Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu on Saturday appealed to Prime Minister Narendra Modi to intervene in order to save Amaravati Capital City from the destructive strategies of the Jaganmohan Reddy government in the State.

He told Mr. Modi that it was the duty of the Central Government to protect Amaravati in accordance with the spirit of the AP Reorganisation Act which recommended a single capital for the new residual state but not multiple capital cities. Moreover, PM Modi himself brought divine soil from the Parliament and sacred water from the Yamuna as a mark of the entire nation’s blessings during the foundation stone laying function.

The TDP chief addressed a national level webinar organised on the occasion of 200th day protests of Amaravati struggle. He stressed the need for the Central Government to consider Amaravati as a national project but not just as the problem of any one particular state or the concern of a few thousand farmers and local people. It’s the Andhra Pradesh people’s will for developing a strong and potential Capital for the state at a single place. This was evident from how many AP people from over 200 cities across the world took part in 200th day Amaravati protests.

Mr. Naidu pointed out that Central funds of Rs. 2,500 Cr have been spent in Amaravati while a total Rs. 9,500 Cr was spent in the overall project works. The Centre has promised to give more funds but the YCP Government was turning a blind ear to this obviously because of its ulterior plan to destroy Amaravati for political reasons. The AP Government was not listening to the dissenting voices from all sections of people. All political parties except the ruling YCP in the state were opposing 3 Capitals. As per the reorganisation Act, the then democratically elected government already identified the capital and there was no scope to reverse that decision anymore.

Stating that the 3 Capitals plan was destructive, Mr. Chandrababu Naidu said after coming to power, CM Jagan Reddy tried to kill Amaravati with scores of baseless allegations like it was a low-lying, food-prone place unift for being a capital city. However, the National Green Tribunal has given a clean chit. Later, YCP levelled allegations of one-caste agenda, insider trading, requirement of costly foundations for constructions. All these false charges were proved wrong even as the YCP went ahead with its ulterior plans. The agitating farmers, women and youth were ruthlessly suppressed.

The webinar was presided over by the Amaravati Parirakshana Samithi Chairman A. Siva Reddy. The national leaders, who addressed the meeting, included CPI national secretary D Raja, BJP senior leader D. Purandeswari, Hindu Maha Sabha president Chakrapani Maharaj, Forward Bloc secretary-general Debabrata Biswas, RSS idealogue Ratan Sharda, CPI State Secretary K. Ramakrishna, CPM State Secretary P. Madhu, Congress AP president Sailajanath, film director Aswani Dutt and other national leaders. YCP MP Raghu Ramakrishnam Raju also spoke.

200 days of Amaravati protests: Naidu vows to continue fight

0

Former Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu on Friday asserted that the Amaravati Capital City farmers came up voluntarily to contribute their hard-earned 33,000 acres of land as part of pooling for the noble objective helping the State.

He said the farmers’ gesture was lauded by many as a one-of-its-kind initiative in the Country. The 3-Capitals idea was flawed and seemed entrenched in the whims and fancies of Chief Minister YS Jaganmohan Reddy.

Mr. Naidu said history would be proof that no country or state has ever prospered by dividing regions or people. Amaravati is an idea that was born out of the pangs of unjust bifurcation. It was envisioned to unite Telugus and be the building block of a powerful AP. “We only had our will, our manpower and the intellectual capital of our people, and we worked hard to build a self-financing Capital that generated jobs for the residents and strengthened the economy with generous tax contributions owing to economic activity,” he said.

A day ahead of Capital City protests completing 200 days on Saturday, Mr. Chandrababu Naidu ran a hashtag campaign under the title – #200DaysOfAmaravatiProtests. He said that with the outbreak of Coronavirus, the shifting move will only seem inappropriate and ill-timed considering the plunging industrial and agricultural output. Also, there were problems of rapidly rising unemployment, and failing healthcare systems.

Mr. Naidu said that tomorrow will mark the completion of 200 days of Amaravati protests. On this occasion, he would like to salute the indomitable spirit of thousands of farmers who have chosen the path of protest to not let the authoritarian Government put the future of the State at risk.

The fight will continue and the Telugu Desam will march shoulder to shoulder with the protesting farmers until Amaravati is reinstated as the only Capital just as the Chief Minister promised in the assembly when he was in the Opposition.

Mr. Naidu slammed the Jagan Reddy Government for launching a vindictive campaign against the BC leaders of TDP by implicating them in murder cases after having used falce ACB, atrocities and Nirbhaya cases. False case was filed against Atchannaidu and SC, ST atrocities case was filed against Yanamala Ramakrishnudu. Nirbhaya case was filed against Ayyanna Pathrudu. YCP Ministers attacked Beeda Ravichandra on the floor of Legislative Council. Now, murder case was slapped on another BC leader Kollu Ravindra.

The TDP chief deplored that the YCP leaders’ habit was to indulge in murder politics but now they were implicating the TDP leaders in those murky and shady activities only with a vengeance against the TDP. It is a fact that the BCs would remain the backbone of the TDP. For this reason, the BC leaders were being ruthlessly suppressed and oppressed. Jagan Reddy would have to pay a heavy penalty for this in future and the TDP would stand behind the BC leaders in this hour of crisis.

Jagan rule should announce Amaravati as only Capital: Naidu

1

TDP chief Chandrababu Naidu termed Amaravati as the only hope for a bright future. He appealed to the YCP Government to stop its vicious political game and begin new efforts to complete the Capital construction in its present location in the larger interests of all regions of the state. The TDP chief warned the CM that if he was thinking of betraying the people of AP, it would be very difficult to achieve such an ignoble wish. Eventually, it would be Jagan Reddy himself who would be left betrayed by his own anti-people activities. Mr. Naidu appealed to the like-minded people of all sections across India and abroad to make the protest call given by the Amaravati Joint Action Committee a big success on July 4. The TDP would also take part in these protests while duly observing Coronavirus preventive guidelines like physical distancing, wearing face masks and also virtual protests. The Telugu diaspora in other countries were also participating in these protests.

Stating that he would take part in protests at Amaravati, Mr. Naidu said that the YCP should stop its stubborn and perverse arguments on the Capital city issues. The Government must at least recognise now that it would be only by developing a single capital city with huge potential that the entire State would be able to reap the benefits of overall development. Amaravati would be the only hope for the future generations of Andhra Pradesh. The Assembly, Secretariat, Courts complexes, townships and other buildings should be developed here itself. There has been no legal dispute also in this huge project till now.

The TDP chief said there has been overwhelming support from all over to Amaravati farmers’ agitation which is completing 220 days now on July 4. Agitators across the world would take part in virtual rallies and protests to bring pressure on the adamant Government. If the planned roads were completed in the existing city in the past one year, Amaravati would have by now come into active use by different sections. The land values would also have gone up in a big way so that the Capital City project would have got potential to generate internal resources to fund its further implementation.

Mr. Naidu told the ruling party leaders that even their party sympathisers in the Capital city area have voluntarily given their lands. In 2019 elections, both MLA seats in Amaravati region were won by the ruling party. But now, the YCP was behaving in a maniacal way to shift Capital without any respect for their own supporters and the local people. Amaravati would have potential to show the kind of development that the international airport, IT sector, Outer Ring Road, Biotech Park and others projects brought in Hyderabad and its surrounding areas.

Stating that Amaravati was visualised as a self-financing project, the TDP chief said that Rs. 10,000 cr funds were already spent on developing some basic facilities in the Capital. Many such good projects initiated by TDP in Hyderabad were continued by YS Rajasekhara Reddy Government. There should be continuity of governance and developmental projects for passing their benefits to the future generations. As such, Amaravati should be continued for the common good and greater prosperity of AP people.

Political force used to shift Atchannaidu to sub-jail: Naidu

0

TDP supremo and former chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu on Wednesday decried the move to shift Kinjarapu Atchannaidu from the Guntur General Hospital to Vijayawada sub-jail.

Accusing the Jagan government of vendetta politics, Chandrababu Naidu said Atchannaidu was sent to Vijayawada sub-jail at the behest of the ruling dispensation.

“The government has exerted pressure on the hospital management to discharge Atchannaidu. Due procedures were not followed in discharge of Atchannaidu from the hospital. At 5 pm, the hospital management recorded the time of his discharge as 4.20 pm,” Naidu said. He described the arrest as a clear case of political vendetta by the fascist government in the state.

Naidu held the state government responsible for the worsening of Atchnnaidu’s health condition. Despite the first surgery in Tekkali in Srikakulam district, the TDP leader was made to travel more than 500 kms from his home town to Guntur and forced to sit in a car for over 15-17 hours. This has led to second surgery as the bleeding did not stop.

Further, Atchannaidu was subjected to prolonged interrogation that lasted for three days in the Guntur General Hospital without allowing even a day’s break, especially after because he did not completely recover from the second surgery. The interrogation had lasted for about 10 hours and 30 minutes spread over the three days, three hours on the first day, five hours the second day and two hours and 30 minutes the third day.

The ruling government is using investigation agencies to oppress the opposition leaders who they think are a threat to their interests, Naidu said. The TDP president accused the ruling YSRCP government of ‘misusing’ the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) to arrest his colleague.

Recently, Naidu had met Governor Bishwabhushan Harichandan to apprise him of the government’s excesses and increasing violation of human rights in Andhra Pradesh. “Leaders who are not yielding to the YSRCP’s arm-twisting tactics are being arrested and false cases are being foisted. Atchnnaidu was arrested because he was vocal about the government’s omissions and commissions,” Naidu told the Governor and submitted a 14-page letter.

Naidu expresses shock over Parawada gas leak in Vizag

2

TDP National President and former Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu on Tuesday expressed concern over the Benzene gas leakage incident that took place at Sainar Life Sciences Pharma Company in Visakhapatnam. Mr. Naidu conveyed his condolences to the families of the deceased persons in the gas tragedy. He demanded the YCP Government to immediately provide best medical treatment to those injured in the incident.

The TDP chief termed it as an alarming situation as another poisonous gas leak incident occurred even as the people of the port city were yet to recover from the shock of LG Polymers tragedy. Mr. Naidu wanted the Government to give all necessary support and assistance to the kin of the deceased.

As per reports, nearly two persons were dead while four others fell unconscious in the latest incident. The TDP Vizag leaders demanded that the Government immediately arrest the management of the company. They criticised that necessary action was not taken to ensure safeguards in the industries even after the LG Polymers disaster.

The Opposition also demanded the seizure of the Sainar Pharma industry following the Benzene leak from its reactor and for not taking timely preventive measures.

Bharat Ratna a befitting tribute to PV, says Chandrababu

2

TDP National President and former Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu on Sunday paid rich tributes to former Prime Minister PV Narasimha Rao on the latter’s birth anniversary. Mr. Naidu recalled how the former PM revived Indian economy from the brink of collapse and set it on the path of recovery. Under his able leadership, India rose to compete with the rest of the world countries. History will forever remember the leaders and personalities who rekindle a new hope among their people in a time of grave crisis. PV Narasimha Rao would be remembered as such a historical figure who gave a bold, new direction to the country in its hour of need.

Mr. Chandrababu Naidu said that as the Chief Minsiter of United Andhra Pradesh, late Narasimha Rao initiated land reforms that helped upliftment of the Dalit and Bahujan sections of society to a large extent. The ex PM has rendered brilliant services to the Telugu people not only as a politician but also as a literary personality.

Recalling the progressive turn that he gave for India at a critical juncture, the TDP chief said conferring Bharat Ratna would be a befitting tribute to the outstanding services rendered by Narasimha Rao. Way back in 2014 itself, the AP Assembly passed a resolution during the TDP regime for erecting a memorial for PV in the national capital. As a result, 10 years after his passing away, PV memorial came up at Ekta Sthal in Delhi.

Farmers future in limbo under YCP Govt, says Naidu

1

TDP National President and former Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu on Saturday accused the YCP Government of causing irreparable damage to the farmers by stalling works on irrigation projects and by allocating meagre funds for the irrigation sector.

He said that the rulers have changed many times in the history of Andhra Pradesh but nobody has stopped the developmental works like the present YCP regime. All irrigation projects in all the 13 districts of the state have been stopped and not a single work has been started in the last 13 months.

In a letter addressed to the principal secretary of irrigation, Mr. Chandrababu Naidu expressed concern over the stalling of works on the Kuppam branch canal as a result of which irrigation and drinking water problems arose in the western Chittoor regions. The people and farmers are facing untold problems in Kuppam and Palamaneru assembly segments. In TDP regime itself, 90 per cent works of Kuppam branch canal were completed.

Mr. Naidu said that for the last 13 months, the final 10 per cent works of Kuppam branch canal were pending. Already, canal digging was completed for 121 kms while another 2.2 kms were in progress. About 221 out of the total 324 structures were completted while 44 structures were in progress. Another 59 structures would have to be started. About 1.43 lakh cubic metres eart work and 23,000 cubic metres concrete were to be taken up. Out of the Rs. 575 cr works, Rs. 490 cr works were completed while Rs. 50 cr works were pending. About Rs. 30 cr bills were to be paid.

Mr. Naidu asserted that during the TDP regime, Rs. 14,000 cr was spent per year on irrigation projects while the present YCP Government spent just Rs. 4,700 cr which was only one-third of what TDP has spent. Farmers are not able to get good crops because of stalling of Kuppam branch canal works. Farmers of tomato, vegetables, sericulture and horticulture crops were getting caught in debts. The Government should complete Kuppam branch canal and all other projects in the state in order to rescue the farmers.

The TDP chief said it was taken up on an experimental basis to provide water to V Kota mandal from Srisailam project. The farmers were in jubilation over seeing water flowing into western Chittoor for the first time. But, now it was deplorable that works were stalled. The deadlock in irrigation projects gave a severe blow to the dream of Haritandhra Pradesh.

Mr. Naidu deplored that all borewells were getting dried up and people were not able to get proper supply from drinking water tankers. The Government is not even paying tankers bills in time. The people were literally stuck in a breathless situation with Coronavirus problems multiplying on the one hand and the YCP Government’s failures giving new problems on the other hand. Stalling Neeru-Prajathi works was a totally thoughtless act. It is nothing but political vengeance to stop payment of bills pending from the previous Government. Noody would come forward to take up works in AP in future.

YCP Govt conspiring against Atchannaidu’s life: Naidu

1

Former Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu has condemned the manner in which the YCP Government was endangering former Minister Atchannaidu’s life by meting out inhuman treatment ever since he was arrested on false charges. Mr. Naidu accused the Government of hatching a conspiracy and playing games with Atchannaidu’s life. He was arrested just a day after he underwent a surgery and, despite this, he was mercilessly forced to travel hundreds of kilometres in a vehicle. As a result of this inhuman treatment, the injury relapsed and Atchannaidu had to undergo another operation.

Mr. Naidu said the inhuman treatment was continued even though the ACB Court has clearly said Atchannaidu should be questioned while allowing him to rest in his hospital bed only. The court said he should not be made to sit or stand. The doctors of Guntur General Hospital have said Atchannnadiu needs 10 days bed rest. But, undue pressure was brought on the GGH doctors for discharging the former Minister at midnight.

The TDP chief asked what was the reason behind the ACB officials trying so hard to take Atchannaidu into custody at midnight. Clearly, these midnight conspiracies were aimed at throwing the TDP leader’s life into risk. They were putting pressure on the GGH officials in violation of the court orders. Even the people’s organisations were saying that all this does not look like ordinary case investigation but a clear attempt to murder a BC leader.

Mr. Naidu asked the Government why it was not showing similar enthusiasm to unearth the YCP mafia activities in land, 108 ambulances, Aava lands and sand scams. The courts were commenting that senior police officials were now appearing before the courts just because of the extreme violations of some staff. Mr. Naidu asserted that they would not tolerate if the Government continued its inhuman activities against BC leader Atchannaidu just because it has got power. The TDP will continue its legal struggle in order to break the conspiracies of the ruling party.

Vijayasai spews venom on Chandrababu: 108 effect

YCP controversial MP Vijayasai Reddy has come back into his previous form in making personal attacks on the TDP. The latest trigger is the TDP allegation that Rs. 408 Cr scam took place in the 108 ambulances contract. Chandrababu Naidu has said this contract was unlawfully given to an organisation belonging to the son-in-law of Vijayasai. Ever since, bitter and heated exchanges have been taking place between the YCP and TDP leaders.

Now, Vijayasai took to Twitter and launched an ultimate counter attack on Chandrababu Naidu. The MP is keeping a low profile amid rumours of his fall from party number two position after Visakhapatanam gas leak tragedy. Now, Vijayasai began cursing and taunting Chandrababu. He says Naidu is indulging in cheap strategies in Hyderabad in a reference to the alleged secret meeting of Sujana Chowdary, Kamineni Srinivas and Nimmagadda Ramesh Kumar. The MP says Naidu is fully busy with manipulations, dark deeds, shady activities, trench-digging and manoeuvre of the institutions.

Vijayasai, in his concluding curse today, said Chandrababu has reduced himself to a mediator after burying NTR’s Telugu Desam Party and for sure, Naidu will never ever enter the corridors of power in future. Analysts say that obviously, Vijayasai was a lot frustrated. Instead of defending his son-in-law, he lost cool and spewed venom on the TDP chief.

Mount pressure on Modi govt to rollback fuel price hike: Naidu to Jagan

1

Terming the recent rise in petrol and diesel prices as unfair, TDP president and former chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu on Tuesday asked Chief Minister Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy to mount pressure on the central government to roll back the hike in fuel prices.

Naidu said the hike in fuel prices comes at a time when people are already burdened by the corona imposed lockdown and the ongoing battle with the pandemic which has caused severe economic hardship to five crore people of Andhra Pradesh. In the last 15 days, diesel prices were hiked by Rs 8.88 per litre while petrol prices were spiked by Rs 7.97 per litre. To this, the Andhra Pradesh government has raised local sales tax or value-added tax (VAT) on the two fuels. The Andhra Pradesh government had imposed local sales tax or value-added tax (VAT) on diesel prices by Rs 3.07, while the surcharge on petrol prices was hiked by Rs 2.76. At this time, instead of reducing prices, the decision of the Andhra Pradesh government to impose additional surcharge is unfair and should be withdrawn, Naidu noted. Further, he pointed out that the transport sector will have to bear the burden of an additional Rs 3,900 crore.

Farmers will also face the impact of fuel price rise in terms of increased cost of transportation for harvested agricultural produce, for sourcing of inputs such as seeds, pesticides and fertilizers. A sharp increase in fuel prices over the past fortnight will push up cultivation costs as sowing activity picks up in the state. Diesel is one of the key inputs for agricultural activities. A sharp hike in diesel prices will increase the cost of cultivation and further squeeze the margins for farmers, Naidu pointed out.

In 2018, when a similar situation prevailed, the TDP government had slashed diesel and petrol prices by Rs 2. “The AP government should take a cue from the policy adopted by the TDP government and slash the fuel prices,’ he suggested.

Ambulances contract given to Vijayasai in-law or not? asks Naidu

0

Former Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu has demanded the Jaganmohan Reddy Government to explain whether the recipient organisation of 108 ambulances contract belongs to Vijayasai Reddy’s son-in-law or not. He blamed the ruling party for continuing its harassment against the TDP just for asking how the 108 contract could be given to a new organisation in violation of the laws and the rules. The Government is giving notices to the whistleblowers while allowing the actual corruption-tainted persons to go scot-free.

The TDP chief, addressing an online meeting with party senior leaders here, called for a relentless struggle to expose and oppose the multiple scams and irregularities being committed even during the dangerous Coronavirus time. He said the Chief Minister should answer whether Saraswathi Power belongs to him or not. When the TDP questioned how water and mines allocation was given in violation of rules, notices were sent through the Secretary concerned. The YCP has made it a routine to commit scams and then persecute the Opposition when it exposes the Government’s corruption.

Mr. Naidu asserted that July and August months would be very crucial in view of rising Coronavirus cases and, to prevent further spread, everybody should follow virtual working, physical distancing and digital socialisation. But the YCP was using even COVID time for carrying out multiple scams. The promises to distribute masks to every house were not fulfilled. Corruption took place even in the making of face masks. Scams took place in test kits and bleaching powder. YCP resorted to Rs. 408 cr scam even in 108 ambulances.

Referring to house sites, Mr. Chandrababu Naidu flayed the ruling party leaders and officials for ‘maintaining silence’ without clarifying on the allegations about collection of Rs. 30,000 to Rs. 70,000 from prospective beneficiaries. There was no official response on the hundreds of crores irregularities in land acquisitions. Nobody was assuring to return the money in case of any problems in future. Instead of assuring the prospective beneficiaries, the ruling party was supporting those who were forcibly collecting the amounts.

Stating that atrocities and corruption were ripping apart AP, Mr. Naidu said this was evident from how Union Minister of State for Home G Kishan Reddy himself described it as a ‘Police Rajyam’ in Andhra Pradesh with YCP harassing rivals with false cases and arrests. Another proof of deterioration of law and order in the State was the letter written by YCP MP Raghurama Krishnam Raju himself to the Centre about life threats to him in AP. Already, the State Election Commissioner wrote to the Centre in the past asking for Central forces’ protection in view of threatening calls to him. Many Opposition people’s representatives made similar complaints expressing fear of life threats. This shows how the YCP Government created a widespread feeling of fear and insecurity all over the State.

Mr. Naidu termed it as oppressive to file a case against former Minister Ayyanna Patrudu for protesting against removal of a BC leader’s photo from Narsipatnam municipal office premises. False cases were filed and inhuman treatment was meted out to Atchannaidu though he required rest due to a surgery. Police watch was placed at Bonda Umamaheswara Rao residence.

Condemning YCP’s ‘maniacal activities’, the TDP chief objected to the legal notices issued to himself and two media houses for questioning the allotment of mines and water for the Chief Minister’s company. In the name of ambulances, Pattabhi Ram was harassed. Yanamala Ramakrishnudu and Chinarajappa were implicated for attending a marriage. Yesterday, one follower Krishna was arrested in Nandigama while 70-year-old Kishore was arrested in Visakhapatnam. The YCP was not even leaving elderly persons as the 66-year-old Ranganayakamma was harassed with a false case in Guntur.

Mr. Naidu said CM Jagan Reddy has decided to take political vengeance to cover up his miserable failure to satisfy the people’s expectations. It has become a routine for YCP to file cases, make baseless allegations and then defame the Opposition. Such blatant misuse of power and oppression was not seen in the last 64 years of AP history. Nowhere in the country such a high number of cases were registered and so many rival parties leaders were sent to jail.

Mr. Naidu flayed the Government for also ‘persecuting’ three Dalit youth for putting posts on social media. False cases were filed to arrest Pilli Koteswara Rao in Chilakaluripeta, Tilak in Kurnool and Nimmala Lokesh in Sullurupeta. Huge cuts were imposed in funds allotments for the welfare of BC, SC, ST and Minorities. Dalit doctors Sudhakar and Anita Rani were harassed. Dalit leaders were openly attacked and sent to jail out of political vendetta.

CBN criticizes YCP activists as criminals

3

TDP National President and former Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu has apparently lost his usual cool. He is thoroughly upset. He swung into action and launched a never-before scathing criticism against CM Jaganmohan Reddy on the issue of social media abuse in a time of sensitive defence related matters. Naidu got angry at a Twitter post by some YCP activists in the name of a fake account ‘Chandra Babu Naidu’. It mockingly quoted Naidu as having given his suggestions to PM Modi on dealing with the border clashes with China. Apparently, the YCP is aiming to irritate the TDP with its frequent references to Naidu’s efforts to make suggestions to PM during crisis situations like Coronavirus. Naidu, in fact, took more dynamic steps to reach out to Modi than even Jagan Reddy on virus preventive measures.

Now, Naidu has not opened any direct dialogue with PM on China issue. His party has announced its solidarity to the Modi government. But, the YCP has politicised even this. What more, it put out a picture showing Naidu saying thanks to Modi for taking his suggestions into consideration.

Naidu strongly objected and said only criminals like Jagan will use such morphed photos.

Only criminals like @ysjagan and his cronies can think of ways to demean, disgrace someone by spreading fake news and morphed images. Really disgusting to see YSRCP spread such fake posts during times of skirmish with a foreign country

Protect tribal teacher jobs under GO 3: Naidu to Govt

1

TDP National President N Chandrababu Naidu on Friday accused the Jaganmohan Reddy Government of depriving the downtrodden people of their rights for progress and empowerment.

He said the Government was not showing sincerity and empathy towards implementing the GO No 3 brought on January 10, 2000. This GO reserves all the posts of teachers in the schools situated in the scheduled areas in Andhra Pradesh with local Scheduled Tribe candidates only out of whom 33 1/3 percent shall be women.
Mr. Naidu, in a letter addressed to Chief Minister YS Jaganmohan Reddy, advised the Government not to harm the interests of the tribal people by ignoring the GO 3. It has been implemented for over two decades benefitting and empowering many tribal people. Now, the tribal people have lost their right to teaching jobs. This loss is bound to have a retrograde effect on the development of the tribals as a whole.

The TDP chief drew the CM’s attention to a quote of Jaipal Singh Munda, hockey champion and the lone representative of tribal people in the Constituent Assembly. Jaipal Singh said, “The whole history of my people is one of continuous exploitation and dispossession by the non-aboriginals of India punctuated by rebellions and disorder, and yet I take Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru at his word. I take you all at your word that now we are going to start a new chapter, a new chapter of Independent India where there is equality of opportunity, where no one would be neglected.”

Mr. Naidu said that as commented by Jaipal Singh Munda, it is the responsibility of Government to see it that there will be ‘equality of opportunity’ and no tribal would be ‘dispossessed or exploited’ henceforth. It is also our constitutional commitment to ensure that the tribal people are developed and empowered on par with others. TDP is wedded to this constitutional commitment and hence brought the GO No. 3 to empower tribals in the year 2000.

Mr. Naidu said the Government appears not interested in the empowerment of weak, vulnerable and downtrodden sections of the society. Earlier, the BC reservations in local bodies were reduced from 34 per cent to 24 per cent, due to which BCs lost political empowerment. The Government did not make a suitable attempt to protect the reservations in local bodies for BCs. In this context, there is a need to take immediate and suitable action by the Government to protect the rights of tribal people for getting all the teaching jobs in Schools located in scheduled tribal areas as per GO No. 3.

Naidu submits 14-page letter to Governor highlighting Jagan’s excesses

A TDP delegation led by party president and former chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu on Thursday met Governor Biswabhusan Harichandan and submitted a 14-page letter highlighting the excesses of the Andhra Pradesh government in the one year rule of Chief Minister Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy.

In the letter, the TDP president charged that the YSRCP government was pursuing politics of vengeance, leading to gross violations of human rights where independent voices were being muzzled. The former chief minister also pointed out that false cases were being filed to harass and persecute the Opposition TDP leaders.

The TDP also complained to the Governor against the undemocratic and inhuman arrests of their party leaders Atchannaidu, Prabhakar Reddy and his son Asmith Reddy. Terming the recent arrests of TDP leaders as politically motivated, Naidu in the letter, stated that leaders who do not succumb to the YSRCP’s arm-twisting tactics are being harassed with false cases and arrests.

Naidu apprised the Governor that Atchannaidu had to undergo a second surgery as he was made to sit and travel for more than 15 hours despite his delicate health following the first piles surgery. Naidu informed the Governor that the ACB and the police were not following the principles of natural justice and that they were merely acting at the behest of the YSRCP.

Naidu informed the Governor that the YSRCP government was pursuing a faction rule and its political vengeance was leading to gross violations of human rights.

In the letter, Naidu also brought to the notice of the Governor that the YSRCP ruling had been undermining the power and the position of constitutional bodies. He noted that the courts and the Election Commission are pillars of the country’s democracy which are under a threat of subversion.

Under Jagan’s rule, an unprecedented and dire situation has arisen, as key institutions have squirmed under the overbearing pressure of interference. The TDP president also apprised the Governor about the omissions and commissions of the YSRCP government and alleged that the government had indulged in corrupt practices in sand, land and liquor, coronavirus kits and bleaching powder.

In the letter, Naidu also brought to the notice of the Governor that the YSRCP leaders made derogatory comments against the AP Legislative Council chairman Shareef and deputy chairman Reddy Subramanyam during important debates on crucial bills, including the capital development and decentralization bill and CRDA repeal bill on Wednesday. The House was adjourned sine die after pandemonium broke out with the YSRCP leaders virtually coming to blows with the TDP leaders.

Chandrababu solidarity to Modi Govt on China intrusions

1

Former Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu’s Telugu Desam Party has expressed solidarity to the BJP-led National Democratic Alliance Government in the latter’s decisions to defend the country against the intrusions by China’s People’s Liberation Army in Galwan Valley.

The TD Legislature Party (TDLP), at an online meeting presided by Mr. Naidu here, paid tributes and recalled the exemplary courage of the 20 army men and the son of Telugu soil Col. Santosh Babu, who laid down their lives in the border clash. The TDLP condemned China for its provocative bid to ingress into the Indian territory.

Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Chandrababu Naidu lauded his party MLCs for strongly countering the ruling YCP’s plans to hijack the proceedings in AP Legislative Council yesterday. While the MLCs have bravely fought against the ruling party leaders’ violations, the party MLAs have given their moral support which deserves appreciation. The TDP members have attended the session despite illhealth and personal problems, thereby helping to protect the honour of Telugu Desam Party.

Mr. Naidu said former Minister Yanamala Ramakrishnudu gave a fitting reply to all the 18 YCP Ministers who stormed the Council session. The same fighting spirit should be shown in the coming months in order to effectively check the YCP atrocities and violations against the Constitution and the Rule of Law.

The TDP chief said that some MLCs and MLAs have gone down as betrayers in history for succumbing to the temptations of CM Jagan Reddy party. One MLA surrendered just because one small case was filed against him. Another MLA succumbed to the lure of incentives. Another leader gave in to YCP for its penalties. All such leaders would be forgotten while those who are fighting would be remembered forever. The people are realising that the CM was a scourge that is more harmful than Coronavirus.

Stating that lots of GOs were struck down in the courts, Mr. Naidu said no other State Government has ever resorted to so many anti-people activities in the recent past. The YCP leaders were committing irregularities and atrocities in an endless manner. The courts have never found fault with any government so many times like in the case of Jagan regime. In the fight against the maniac, everybody should be alert and always cautious. YCP leaders were making attacks on Opposition inside the Houses of Legislature while, at the same time, they were crushing on the civil liberties of the people outside.

Mr. Naidu deplored that the ruling party has set a goal to attack and persecute the BC, SC, ST and Minorities. As part of this, they have targetted Yanamal Ramakrishnudu, Atchannaidu, Ayyanna Pathrudu and others. Seeing the ruling party behaviour, doubts were arising whether it held the just-concluded session for passing the Appropriation Bill or the controversial Bills on 3 Capitals and CRDA Repeal. There are doubts whether they were budget sessions or Capital shifting sessions.

The TDP chief criticised the Government for bringing the Decentralisation Bill and CRDA Repeal Bill back to Council through the back door. When the TDP insisted on a debate under Rule 90, the YCP Ministers and members resorted to attacks and provocations. In the last one year, the YCP has not given even Rs. 2,000 Cr for the backward classes if Ammavadi and pensions are not considered. Tall claims were being made about spending Rs. 15,000 Cr for BC welfare. The TDP spent Rs. 9,000 Cr for SC sub plan but the present YCP rule gave just Rs. 3,000 Cr. Not even half the amount was spent in ST sub plan. While the TDP spent additional funds for sub plans for development of weaker sections, the YCP was showing welfare spendings also under sub plan expenditure.

Mr. Naidu recalled that the Advocate General told the High Court that the 3 Capitals and CRDA Repeal Bills were referred to the Selection Committed formed by Council. But, now the two bills were before the Houses in violation of the constitutional norms. This was another maniacal act on the part of the CM to re-introduce the two bills in breach of the affidavit filed by the Advocate General before the High Court. Nobody blocked the Appropriation Bill and this would be known if the videos and pictures of the Council proceedings were made public.

The TDP chief accused the YCP of trying to escape from public scrutiny by completing the session in just two days so that all the misdeeds and corruption scams of its one year rule would not come up for debate. The budget session should have been held for two to three weeks. YCP has not fulfilled its countless promises. It is well known how YCP promised to give Rythu Bharosa for 64 lakh farmers, but after coming to power it gave the benefit to just 44 lakh.

Cure sick body politic with law and order medicine: Naidu to AP DGP

1

Telugu Desam Party National President and former Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu on Thursday termed it as appalling the YCP Government’s continuing pursuit of vendetta against the people, activists and leaders belonging to the weaker and downtrodden sections in Andhra Pradesh.

He said the body politic became ‘sick’ in AP under just one year of YCP rule as it did not hesitate to persecute Dalit doctors Sudhakar and Anitha Rani, and also backward classes leaders like fomer Ministers Ch. Ayyanna Pathrudu and K. Atchannaidu.

In a letter addressed to Director General of Police Gautam Sawang here, the TDP chief said there was a clear pattern behind the YSRCP Government which was framing false charges and targetting weaker sections to silence all opposition to its violations and irregularities. First, Atchannaidu was implicated, arrested and illtreated. Just as the people were coming to terms with his unlawful arrest and need to undergo a second surgery, the Government foisted a false FIR against Ayyanna Pathrudu. Obviously, the police are being used as ‘pawns’ by the ruling YSRCP leaders to pursue their narrow political agenda.

Expressing concern over rising vindictive actions, Mr. Naidu told the DGP that it was essential to investigate the pattern by which the YCP Government was victimising every voice of dissent against its policies and decisions. The modus operandi adopted by YCP is to first use its own mainstream media and social media to tarnish a particular leader or person and then encourage the ruling party cronies to file false cases against the dissenting persons or leaders regardless of the parties or organisations they belong to. This pursuit of narrow political interests by YSRCP would only result in destruction of institutions like police, legislature, bureaucracy, media and judiciary. Finally, our children would only inherit these moth-eaten democratic institutions turning the future into dark and bleak for the whole State of Andhra Pradesh.

Mr. Chandrababu Naidu said it was crucial for the DGP as the head of the police to rise above petty and narrow interests of the ruling party leaders in order to save the institution of police and all other democratic institutions in the state. The ruling YSRCP is unleashing violence and harassment not only against the opposition TDP, but also against any one voicing their dissent. YCP’s revenge regime reminds us of a quote of Dr. BR Ambedkar: “Law and order are the medicine of the body politic and when the body politic gets sick, medicine must be administered.”

The TDP chief told the DGP it is time to administer such a dose of medicine as recommended by the Architect of the Constitution. This is badly needed in view of the continuing attacks on all institutions and systems by YCP with its vendetta politics. Finally, history will judge the DGP based on the action that he would take to cure today’s sick body politic.

The TDP chief said that Ayyanna Patrudu has been in public service for nearly four decades and is widely known as a simpleton, emotional and soft spoken. He has been seen as the voice of the weak, vulnerable and downtrodden sections of the society. Filing FIR against such a leader without enquiry shows the vindictive attitude of the Government. Charges under Nirbaya Act against Ayyanna Patrudu raised innumerable doubts about the intentions of the Government. The FIR no. 777/2020 dated 16.6.2020 was falsely lodged at Narsipatnam police station. In fact, Ayyanna Patrudu visited the municipal office of Narsipatnam on June 15, 2020, to protest against the removal of Latcha Patrudu’s photograph from its original place. Latcha Patrudu was a pioneer in giving voice to the downtrodden and weaker sections of the society. In this backdrop, the removal of Shri Latcha Patrudu’s photograph from the Municipal office is deemed as disempowering the weaker sections of the society. It is for this reason he went to protest at the municipal office.
