The released teasers of Ravi Teja’s upcoming film Disco Raja received exceptional response from the audience. The film is hitting the screens this Friday and the pre-release event of Disco Raja took place last night. During his speech, Ravi Teja said that he is extremely confident about the film and if all goes well, Disco Raja will have a sequel or a prequel. VI Anand is the director and Payal Rajput, Nabha Natesh, Tanya Hope are the leading ladies.

“I enjoyed a lot working for the film throughout the shoot. Disco Raja will not miss the expectations this time. If all goes well, the film will have a sequel or a prequel. I thank all the actors and technicians for their exceptional work” said Ravi Teja. Bobby Simha, Sunil and Vennela Kishore played other crucial roles. S Thaman composed the music and SRT Entertainments bankrolled the film. Disco Raja is hitting the screens on January 24th.

Mass Raja Ravi Teja was once one of the most consistent actors of Telugu cinema. Most of his movies ended up as money spinners and his producers never lost a penny. But things got altered in the recent years. With Ravi Teja charging huge and his poor script selection made his producers lose huge amounts. None of his recent films collected Rs 10 crore theatrical share in their final run. His next film Disco Raja is carrying decent expectations and the film’s teasers received thumping response.

Disco Raja is a sci-fi thriller and is made on a massive budget. But the theatrical asking prices are quite low. It is heard that the theatrical business is closed and the makers could not recover atleast half of the film’s budget. They will now have to rely on the overflows and other non-theatrical rights to recover their invested amount. Ravi Teja’s past mistakes seem to haunt him big time.

It is almost official that Nandamuri Balakrishna’s Ruler, Sai Dharam Tej’s Prati Roju Pandaage and Sharwanand, Samantha’s 96 remake will clash during this Christmas holiday season. Before this, Ravi Teja’s Disco Raja and Nithiin’s Bheeshma have been announced for December 20th release. But with huge competition, both the films walked out of the race. Ravi Teja and Nithiin need to score a hit at any cost to stand in the race.

Mass Maharaja Ravi Teja is having a tough time to finalise his next projects. As all his recent films ended as box office failures, he is giving no room for hit-or-miss scripts. He is looking for bound scripts with universal content rather than those which connect with the target audience. After tasting an embarrassing flop with Amar Akbar Anthony, he is very much indecisive to give nod to new projects.

He was supposed to work with Santosh Srinivas for Theri remake and also with VI Anand for a film titled as Described Disco Raja. While Theri remake was put on the back burner after commencing its shoot, Disco Raja is still in the pre-production phase. Ravi Teja is not fully convinced with the scripts of both these films. So, he has put Theri remake on hold. He also gave ample time to VI Anand to come up with a watertight script that will be a surefire box office success.

Close sources revealed that he is suggesting some changes to VI Anand’s final script, so the shooting has been delayed. He also asked the director to minimise the budget as much as possible. Once he is convinced with the changes, the film will go on floors. Meanwhile, he has also kept director Gopichand Malineni in waiting mode.
