‘Paint your face black, Jagan govt should hang its head in shame’

1

The Supreme Court verdict ordering the Andhra Pradesh government to remove YSRCP colours on government buildings and panchyat offices was welcomed by all leaders cutting across political parties.

Welcoming the SC directive to the Jagan government on YSRCP colours, TDP, Congress and the Left parties demanded that the government should immediately resign for the loss of face at various courts, including the High Court and Supreme Court. The leaders slammed the Andhra Pradesh government for taking unilateral decisions without taking consensus from different political parties and ruling the state with in an autocratic manner to the point to even dishonouring the courts verdicts. They said Jagan government should paint its face black with SC verdict.

The Jagan’s dispensation was being challenged in courts on almost every important policy decision. Several petitions were filed challenging the state government’s controversial decisions in the recent past, and the Jagan’s dispensation had to swallow a bitter pill in the court battles by losing all of them. With over 60 cases in last one year of the YSRCP rule.

Senior TDP leader Varla Ramaih noted that the AP government had set a record of sorts in court battles by losing a series of cases in the High Court.

“The Supreme Court verdict on removal of YSRCP colours on government buildings should be an eye-opener to the Jagan government. The Andhra Pradesh government should at least now open its eyes to the reality and respect courts. Despite the court verdicts, the Jagan government is hell-bent on dishonouring the judiciary. It is high time that the Andhra Pradesh government listen to the voice of the people and accordance to the law,” senior TDP leader and politburo member Varla Ramaiah noted.

Citing former chief ministers Neelam Sanjeeva Reddy and Janardhan as examples who quit office after the High Court made certain observations agains the then governments, Andhra Pradesh Congress Committee working president Tulasi Reddy said, “This government should hang its head in shame after the SC verdict ordering removal of YSRCP colours on party buildings. If the Jagan government has left any shame, it should immediately resign. In the past, Neelam Sanjeeva Reddy and Janardhan Reddy had quit after the High Court made certain observations. Further, the government officials should bear the cost for removal of YSRCP colours on government buildings. This government seems to have no shame left and continuinig in office unabashedly,” slammed Tulasi Reddy.

Despite a series of debacle at the High Court and the Supreme Court, the Jagan government has not learnt any lesson, BJP Rajya Sabha MP G V L Narasimha Rao said. “The Jagan government should focus on how to make the lives of people colourful and not spend its resources on painting party colours on government buildings. No government in the country has recieved such ignominy before courts as the YSRCP government. The government should desist from ruling in an autocratic manner and focus on welfare of the people,” GVL Narasimha Rao noted.

The Andhra Pradesh wing of the Communist Party of India said the judiciary is under constant attack from the state government, the defiant attitude was sending a wrong signals among the common people. “The Andhra Pradesh government seems to have not learnt any lesson from the recent court verdicts and defying the judiciary with impunity. The government should honour court verdicts and follow democratic norms. It should take decisions by taking consensus and engage in consultations with all the parties. Just because the government enjoys majority does not mean that they can act according to its will,” lashed out Communist Party of India leader CPI State secretary Ramakrishna. The chief minister has long made a habit of twisting the arm of individuals and institutions but the problem is that such attempts are rarely successful and the government would be most unwise to try to adopt them as a method of governing, he said.

Jagan has no moral right to continue

0

The TDP has welcomed the High Court judgement reinstating SEC Ramesh Kumar, saying that it was a victory for the Constitution, for democracy and for ethical values in society. The Opposition party asserted that Chief Minister YS Jaganmohan Reddy has no right to continue and he should step aside, owning moral responsibility for the debacle in the court.

TDP Politburo Member Varla Ramaiah said that the YCP Government’s multiple advisors should ponder over the latest blow and advise the Chief Minister to step down following the court’s disapproval of his action. He said that the High Court has saved democracy in AP and renewed people’s faith in the Constitution.

The TDP leader asserted that the YCP should no longer drag on the legal issue by going to the Supreme Court and focus on correcting its mistakes in the best interests of the people. CM Jagan should realise that he was insulting the Constitution and Dr. Ambedkar by trying to permanently remove a constitutionally appointed SEC. The YCP leaders including the Speaker of Assembly made lots of cheap comments against Ramesh Kumar but now they had to cut a sorry figure.

High Court should initiate contempt against YCP MP: TDP

1

TDP Politburo Member Varla Ramaiah on Saturday appealed to the AP High Court to register a contempt case and give suitable punishment to YCP MP Nandigam Suresh for his insinuating remarks that TDP Chief Chandrababu Naidu was managing the High Court.

The TDP leader stressed the need for suspending the Lok Sabha membership of MP Suresh till the contempt case would be disposed and for the sake of upholding democratic values and traditions. The MP wrongfully stated that High Court orders were reaching 10 minutes in advance to Mr. Naidu.

Mr. Ramaiah asserted that the Dr Sudhakar case figured prominently in national and international media for the human rights violations involved in it and there would be no doubt that it would sound the death knell for the Jagan Reddy Government in near future. A day would come soon when CM and his party Dalit leaders would repent for having targetted, humiliated and injured Dr. Sudhakar in Visakhapatnam streets.

Mr. Ramaiah said that the voters of Bapatla Lok Sabha constituency were lowering their heads in shame for electing an MP who had no minimum knowledge on how to respect the judiciary and how to behave as a respectable parliamentarian. “As a fellow Dalit, I am feeling guilty. Even some Dalit leaders within the ruling party were secretly calling me to express their solidarity for the doctor’s cause. All Dalit organisations have successfully fought for justice in this case,” the TDP leader said.

Stating that Dr Sudhakar’s half naked photos appeared in a Britain newspaper, Mr. Ramaiah said that it truly reflected the low levels to which Jagan Reddy rule has stooped on a global scale. How can a citizen be paraded half naked with hands tied behind just for making some comments however serious they may be? In a park in Britain, a citizen was allowed to confront and express his displeasure against that country’s Prime Minister when he went for a walk there. The administrators shall have that kind of patience and commitment.

Mr. Ramaiah said that all Dalit sections were now thankful and indebted to AP High Court for upholding the ideals that Ambedkar preached for the basic rights of downtrodden sections. It was a great misfortune of the people of AP for having such an indifferent and insensitive leader as their Chief Minister.

CM Jagan responsible for YSRCP MLAs lockdown violations: TDP

1

Opposition is expressing concern over COVID cases rising in AP while other states report decline. YSRCP government is filing cases only against rival leaders but not ruling party activists. Now, TDP Politburo Member Varla Ramaiah on has demanded stringent action against the ruling YSR Congress Party Ministers, MPs and MLAs for their continuing violations of Coronavirus lockdown thereby jeopardising the lives and livelihoods of lakhs of poor families, daily wage earners, migrant and construction workers in Andhra Pradesh. The ruling party leaders were behaving in an irresponsible manner during the dangerous time of Coronavirus just because CM Jaganmohan Reddy wanted to sweep the local body elections as soon as they would be conducted.

Varla Ramaiah said that inefficient and negligent administration under YSRCP Government had led to rise in AP cased while other states were reporting a decline there days. While Telangana is reporting around 6 +ve cases daily, Andhra Pradesh is reporting around 70 to 80 cases per day.

He dismissed criticism of YSRCP Ministers, saying that as an efficient leader, Mr. Chandrababu Naidu was gathering latest information on the COVID-19 right from the beginning and creating awareness among the people in every possible way. Whereas, the AP Government had totally ignored the virus situation thereby endangering the lives of people without showing any concern. Negligence of the Government had led to imposition of red zones in Kurnool, Guntur, Nellore and Krishna districts with serious epidemic concerns.

Ramaiah said that when there were 229 cases in Telangana on April 3, AP had only 80 cases at that time. But by April 10, AP reported 381 total cases with a 132 per cent increase while Telangana had 487 cases at 112 per cent increase. More alarmingly, in the week ending on April 24, Telangana reported 983 cases with 28.3 per cent rise as against 955 cases in AP with 67 per cent. By May 2, Telangana reported 1,064 cases with 6.2 per cent rise while AP cases touched 1,464 cases with 53 per cent increase.

CID probe into Ramesh letter aimed to mislead High Court, says TDP

0

In over 55 cases, the courts have found fault with Jagan Reddy Government. In just one year, YSRCP achieved this record. Now, AP CID are investigating a case of forgery of signature of a retired IAS Officer though he says he only signed the letter. Citing this instance, TDP Politburo Member Varla Ramaiah has slammed the YSRCP Government for what he described as its bankrupt policies to push the constitutional institutions, official machinery and the police into a deep credibility crisis.

He accused CM Jaganmohan Reddy and MP Vijayasai Reddy of not leaving their old habits that became responsible for their spending 16 months in Chanchalaguda Central Jail in over 11 cases of cheating, criminal conspiracy and forgery. The ongoing CID probe into former SEC N Ramesh Kumar’s letter was yet another gimmick being played by CM Jagan in order to mislead the High Court ahead of Monday’s hearing. The court would take up hearing on over 8 petitions questioning the legality and constitutionality of removal of Ramesh Kumar and also appointment of new State Election Commissioner V. Kanagaraj.

Mr. Ramaiah termed it as ironical that a cheating and forgery specialist like Vijayasai Reddy had levelled allegations of forgery against the TDP leaders. Even more objectionable was the fact that the AP CID had begun investigating into the matter though Ramesh Kumar had categorically asserted not outside influence on him when he wrote the letter to Union Home Secretary.

Strongly objecting to CID filing a case in a biased manner, Mr. Ramaiah said that Ramesh Kumar’s secretary Samba Murthy’s role ended after listening to his boss’s orders and there was nothing wrong to delete the letter file from his desktop. When Ramesh Kumar was himself ruling out any chance of forgery of his signature, it was one’s understanding for what purpose the CID took up investigation.

Mr. Ramaiah asked the AP Police to keep a watch on CM Jagan and MP Vijayasai since they were accused 1 and accused 2 in 11 CBI cases of illegal assets and they were out on conditional bail. Going by their suspicious activities in respect of so many cases, the suspect sheets should be opened to keep them under control.

Mr. Ramaiah asked whether CM Jagan had lost total grip on the administration since there was clearly a growing gap between the CM and the people while the CMO, intelligence, DGP and Chief Secretary were visibly carrying out all major tasks. CM was in some kind of held up in a secret place with no chance to address the people in this hour of Coronavirus crisis.

TDP asks Jagan and Speaker to say sorry to SEC

1

AP CM YS Jaganmohan Reddy has imposed lockdown in AP but the people are coming into the roads as usual. The TDP says it’s because the people are also making light of the impending epidemic threat just like how Jagan Sarkar underplayed it four days ago with its paracetamol and bleaching powder comments. TDP General Secretary Varla Ramaiah says that Jagan attitude and Chief Secretary Nilam Sawhney’s earlier claims of no virus threat had caused complacency among the people now. Sawhney has no moral right to continue any longer considering how her letter to State Election Commissioner N Ramesh Kumar have proved to be irresponsible now. Her letter would have put the safety and security of the 5.5 cr people of Andhra Pradesh in danger.

It’s time CM Jagan Reddy, Speaker Tammineni Sitarama and all YCP MLAs should say sorry immediately to SEC Ramesh Kumar because his timely postponement of local body polls has saved people from harmful exposure to virus.

Gautam Sawang should be ashamed, says Varla Ramaiah

0

Senior leader and TDP’s Rajya Sabha candidate Varla Ramaiah came down heavily on DGP Gautam Sawang for the arrest of party leader and former chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu at Vishakapatnam airport when he visited the port city on February 27 for the party’s Praja Chaitanya Yatra and wondered if the DGP was working for YSRCP or for the welfare of the people.

Instead of working in the larger interests of protecting and safeguarding the people, the Andhra Pradesh police under Gautam Sawang had become a political tool to further the political agenda of the ruling dispensation. He demanded that the DGP tender his resignation owning moral responsibility for the arrest of TDP president and former chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu. “The High Court read out the police manual, CrPC 151 to the DGP when he deposed before the court. Such a thing never happened in the past where a court had to read out CrPC 151 to a DGP. Gautam Sawang should be ashamed for the arrest of our party president Chandrababu Naidu,” Varla Ramaiah hit out at a press conference on Friday.

The Andhra Pradesh High Court on Thursday pulled up Gautam Sawang questioning him why notices were served to Naidu under Section 151 and why no action was taken against the officers who violated the law in issuing the notices. In his deposition before the court, Sawang had admitted that Naidu’s arrest was not in the spirit of Sec.151(1) and that he would take action against the officers responsible as per the court directive.

Varla’s Dalit challenge to Jagan RS ticket to Reliance

0

TDP Rajya Sabha candidate Varla Ramaiah offered to withdraw his nomination if AP CM Jaganmohan Reddy allots one of the four Rajya Sabha seats is allotted to a dalit in the present elections. Varla put a condition that Reliance President Parimal Natwani’s RS seat should be given to one of the efficient dalit leaders who recently joined YCP from TDP. Varla took strong objection to Jagan giving RS ticket to Natwani, saying that Reliance Group was responsible for thousands of Dalit youths facing police cases. These Dalit youths have lost even government jobs because of the police cases filed in the YCP attacks on Reliance properties in Telugu states.

Varla Ramaiah said that Jagan Reddy insulted and cheated Dalits by supporting Reliance Natwani. Jagan accused the same Reliance Group for murder conspiracy behind YSR death in the past. Varla thanked Sakshi Media for giving him good publicity after his RS nomination chance given by Chandrababu Naidu.

Ramaiah hit back at YCP dalit leaders saying that the Dalit Ministers and MLAs have no respect in Jagan party. He said that he was being given importance to sit with Mr. Naidu in politburo meetings to discuss before taking all major decisions. Has any Dalit Deputy CM or Minister or MLA ever had this chance to sit with Jagan? asked Varla. Responding to rival criticism, Varla said that he was not the type of a leader to cry over anything but he would only roar and counter attack any rival.

Naidu gives SC card twist to Jagan BC Rajya Sabha seats

The Rajya Sabha elections are going to be a must in Andhra Pradesh. The TDP has decided to field its SC senior leader and party general secretary Varla Ramaiah in the RS election fray. This is despite the fact that TDP has no minimum strength to win the seat. Chandrababu is asking why CM Jagan Reddy is not giving even one seat out of the four Rajya Sabha seats to the SC communities. At every given chance, Jagan would talk about TDP’s negligent attitude towards SCs but now he has turned an indifferent eye to them.

These past few days, YCP was thinking that TDP might not even think of contesting the RS elections. So that, there would be no need for conducting the elections at all in AP. All the four RS seats from AP would have been unanimous. But Naidu decided to give embarrassment to Jagan Reddy on the social justice issue.

Till now, YCP is claiming that is has done greater justice to BCs by giving them two RS seats. They are Mopidevi Venkata Ramana and Pilli Subhashchandra Bose. Both of them are sworn loyalists of YSR family and are involved in the business dealings of Jaganmohan Reddy. YCP thought of taking advantage of BC card in local polls but Naidu highlighted reduction of BC reservations by YCP. Now, Varla nomination is going to trigger lot of political heat and debate in Telugu states.

TDP reverse call to 14400 on Jagan CBI cases

1

The Telugu Desam Party (TDP) is trying hard to beat CM Jaganmohan Reddy at his own game. TDP senior leader Varla Ramaiah gave a call to 14400 and made a formal complaint against CM himself. Ramaiah asked the staff of anti-corruption call centre to conduct an enquiry into Jagan Reddy’s multi-crore illegal assets cases. He pointed out that CM is facing corruption cases involving Rs. 23,000 cr.

However, the call centre staff refused to take Ramaiah’s complaint. They advised him to submit his complaint at the AP Secretariat. But, the TDP leader insisted that his complaint should be investigated within 15 days as per the instructions given by CM at the time of inauguration of the call centre yesterday.

The TDP has already written an open letter to Jagan asking him to voluntarily order an investigation into the corruption he has committed during his father YSR’s regime. Now, Ramaiah took the opportunity and made an official complaint at 14400 appealing to CM to get ready for voluntary disclosure of his massive corruption scam. How can Jagan Reddy talk about eradication of corruption when he has a dark past of massive irregularities involving thousands of crores?

TDP doesn’t need Jr. NTR at the moment, says TDP leader Varla

0

Even though young tiger NTR is completely focusing on movies, discussion about his participation in politics has been surfacing time and again. Recently, TDP Polit bureau member Varla Ramaiah has responded on Jr NTR taking over charge of TDP.

Recently Kodali Nani and Vallabhaneni Vamsi have made a scathing attack on TDP party and Chandra Babu.Naidu. They opined that Lokesh’s leadership will bury the party. They have also spoken about Jr NTR taking over the charges of TDP to resurrect the party. However, as everyone knows, YSRCP leaders don’t have any interest in the wellbeing of TDP and they talk about Jr NTR role only to embarrass TDP leadership and confuse the cadres. So, TDP leader Varla Ramaiah responded on these comments today.

Varla told that, CBN is still strong enough to lead the party and he is the strength of the party. So, at this moment there is no need of Jr NTR playing any sort of role in the party, he asserted. We will have to wait and see how Jr NTR fans respond on these comments.

One Rupee Jagan spent Rs 15 Cr on Tadepalli house?

0

AP Chief Minister YS Jaganmohan Reddy is taking just one rupee salary towards rendering his services to the people. Is he genuinely giving such great services to the Andhra people? The opposition raises doubts. The TDP asks why ‘One Rupee Jagan’ has spent Rs 15 Cr public money on renovation of his Tadepalli Camp Office. It is not a government building complex. His private residence is converted into CM Camp Office there. TDP leader Varla Ramaiah asked how Rs 48 lakh public funds were spent on just bathrooms in Jagan house. While this is the situation at Jagan residence, there are no basic amenities like even benches at the High Court premises.

The TDP is very angry against Minister Perni Nani for talking about Rs 10 Cr spending of public funds on Naidu’s Delhi Dharma Porata Deeksha. Can the Minister prove it? Varla Ramaiah said that it was only Rs. 1.6 Cr spent on Naidu Deeksha. The TDP is ready to prove it in front of the finance department officials. The YCP Ministers should first talk about the wasteful expenditure of massive public funds on Jaganmohan Reddy’s huge residences at Tadepalli, Lotus Pond and Bangalore. How can Jagan spend Rs 60 lakh people’s money on his Court appearance in Rs 45,000 Cr CBI illegal assets cases?

TDP leader Varla Ramaiah neck-deep in troubles!

0

The row over TDP senior leader Varla Ramaiah’s caste remarks is not going to subside any soon given the latest developments. The SC Students Union has given an ultimatum to the TDP senior leader, demanding a public apology within 48 hours.

After Varla Ramaiah asked a student (travelling on the bus, and completely ignoring the TDP leader) whether he is SC or ST, the student replied he belongs to SC. The very next moment, the TDP leader said, ‘Ena kodukuluasaluchadvaru [these people (belonging to that caste) do not study at all’.

The statements were telecasted on Telugu News Channels and soon became the hot topic in AP political circles. Maadiga Student Union’s (Ongole) State Working President Narasinga Rao said, ‘TDP leader Varla Ramaiah who referred the student as Maadiga should apologize within the next 48 hours. If not, we will surround his house. It is highly uncalled on the part of TDP leaders to humiliate people belonging to SC and ST.

TDP Varla Ramaiah makes ‘casteist remarks’ after a student ignores him! CBN Serious

10

TDP senior leader Varla Ramaiah became the TRP item for Telugu news channels’ continuous scrolls and yet-to-come debates. After a student ignored the presence of the TDP leader (and APSRTC Chairman), Ramaiah asked the student whether he belongs to SC or ST.

When the student said he belongs to ‘Maadiga’(SC) caste, Ramaiah quickly said that you will not be of any use to your father, and most likely you wouldn’t have even written the exam.

These comments quickly engulfed the TV news channels, which are every hungry for sensational news. It did not take long for TDP Supremo CBN to respond to the casteist remarks by Varla Ramaiah. Close sources to the TDP party confirmed that CBN gave a strong warning to Varla Ramaiah, stating that these kind of incidents are damaging the party’s reputation, and image among the general public.

SC and ST Organizations have already raged a war against Varla Ramaiah. They are likely filing a complaint with the Human Rights Commission on the incident today. It feels as if people from ‘one caste’ are worth, and rest all are fit-for-nothing for the TDP leaders.

Varla Ramaiah sees Jagan’s hand in Justice Katju remarks

0

Vijayawada: Telugu Desam general secretary and AP Housing Corporation chairman Varla Ramaiah suspected the hand of YSR Congress president Y S Jaganmohan Reddy in the anti-government statement issued by Supreme Court former judge Justice Markandeya Katju. The retired judge had asked for dismissal of the State government following the arrests of social media activists in the State.

Ramaiah said that Jaganmohan Reddy has been doing several futile attempts to come out of the CBI cases in different forms. He recalled the interview of former chief secretary Ramakanth Reddy against the CBI cases and his complaint to Prime Minister Narendra Modi against two officers, Umashankar Gowd and B S Gandhi. He alleged that Jaganmohan Reddy is now trying to influence the Supreme Court retired judge to speak in his favour which resulted in Katju’s statement condemning Chandrababu Naidu’s government.

The TDP leader sought to advise the YSR Congress chief to stop indulging in cheap tricks to influence the courts, investigating agencies and the retired judges. He said that the courts would order punishment to Jaganmohan Reddy soon.

Ramaiah took strong exception to the threats of YSR Congress leader Bhumana Karunakar Reddy who called upon his party leaders to get ready for a war with the TDP. The TDP leader wanted to know what kind of war that the YSR Congress leaders were planning against the government and the TDP. “Are you planning for a war with weapons or bombs in the Kadapa style?” he asked. He also asserted that the government under the leadership of Chandrababu Naidu would save the government, the State and the people from the war to be launched by the anti-social elements of the YSR Congress.

Varla Ramaiah wants CBI to seize Jagan’s passport

0

Vijayawada: Senior Telugu Desam leader and AP Housing Corporation chairman Varla Ramaiah had asked the CBI to seize the passport of YSR Congress president Y S Jaganmohan Reddy to prevent him from leaving the country. As the CBI court is scheduled to give its verdict on CBI’s plea for cancellation of Jaganmohan Reddy’s bail petition on April 28, Ramaiah hinted at the possibility of the leader leaving the country to avoid arrest.

Ramaiah recalled that Vijay Mallya had fled from the country to avoid arrest and feared that Jaganmohan Reddy too would escape if the government and the courts remain silent. He further said that Jaganmohan Reddy had already sought permission from the court to go for holidays to New Zealand. He said that Jaganmohan Reddy is facing 11 charge sheets, while his assets were attached by the Enforcement Directorate in 4 cases. Stating that the government was having tough time to bring Vijay Mallya who is accused in Rs 9,000 crore, he wondered how can the government allow Jaganmohan Reddy who is accused in Rs 43,000 crore fraud case.

The TDP leader further alleged that Jaganmohan Reddy was also trying to influence witnesses in the CBI cases, besides misleading the courts. He cited the interview of former chief secretary Ramakanth Reddy in the Sakshi media and said that the interview was an open attempt by Jaganmohan Reddy to mislead the courts.

He took strong exception to the YSR Congress leaders drawing parallels between Jaganmohan Reddy and Nara Lokesh. He said that Jaganmohan Reddy had indulged in criminal activities when his father was chief minister, while Lokesh was extending welfare programmes to the party cadre with his father as Chief Minister. “There is a complete difference between Jaganmohan Reddy and Lokesh and it is unfair to compare them. Lokesh is not a criminal and corrupt like Jaganmohan Reddy,” he asserted.
