TDP to contest 144 MLA seats, Jana Sena 21, BJP 10

The opposition TDP is set to contest 144 Assembly seats in the state in alliance with the Jana Sena and the BJP. The seat sharing was finalised at a meeting held among the three parties at Chandrababu Naidu’s residence the other day.

BJP senior leader and Union Minister Gajendra Singh Shekhawat, TDP chief Chandrababu Naidu and Jana Sena chief Pawan Kalyan held prolonged discussions over the seat sharing. The discussions were held for almost 8 hours among the three leaders, assisted by their respective party leaders.

The Jana Sena had come down to 21 seats from the initial number of 24 seats. The TDP had initially given 24 seats to the Jana Sena. However, after the Monday’s talks, the party had come down to 21 seats, leaving three seats to the BJP.

The bargain with the BJP started at six seats and it finally concluded at 10 seats. The BJP is said to have insisted upon contesting double digit numbers and accordingly settled down at 10 seats. While the Jana Sena had given three seats, the TDP had given one seat to the BJP, reducing its strength to 144 seats.

TDP chief Chandrababu Naidu had sought to advise the Jana Sena and the BJP leaders to ensure that better candidates are fielded in their constituencies to defeat the ruling YSR Congress candidates. He said that his party is ready to assist both the Jana Sena and the BJP in selecting the candidates for the seats given to them.

The Jana Sena made a big sacrifice by giving up three seats for the BJP. Though the Jana Sena activists were not happy with the party taking just 24 seats initially, the Jana Sena chief had made a big sacrifice by further bringing down the number.

Pawan Kalyan is committed to the defeat of the YSR Congress and had said that he would be ready for any sort of sacrifice to ensure the defeat of the YSR Congress. Accordingly, he made the big sacrifice by losing three seats to the BJP.

Pawan Kalyan is expected to explain the reasons for giving up three seats to the BJP and is said to be pacifying the angry party workers. The party rank and file are not happy with the 24 seats. Now, Pawan Kalyan has further brought down the number. It is to be seen how the Jana Sena activists would react to this decision.

Jagan uttered lies at Medarametla too, says Atchen Naidu

0

Chief Minister, Jagan Mohan Reddy, continued his game of uttering blatant lies at Medarametla too, taking innocent people for a ride, observed TDP State unit president, Kinjerapu Atchen Naidu.

Jagan has deceived the people and his statement that he fulfilled all the promises is totally false, Atchen Naidu said in a statement released here on the remarks made by Jagan at Medarametla. Jagan has spent only 15 per cent of the budgetary allocation made for welfare while TDP supremo, Chandrababu Naidu, as the chief minister of the State has spent 19 per cent, he said.

Advising Jagan to ponder over his future in politics and how will he win the Pulivendula seat since people are well aware of who killed his Babai (paternal uncle), Atchen Naidu said that the sole dream of Jagan is to loot the State and build a palace in every district. Since Jagan has lost his credibility not even one lakh people attended his Medarametla meeting, he added.

Jagan did not fulfill even a single promise made to the people like filling 2.3 lakh vacancies in various government departments, total prohibition and cancellation of the Contributory Pension Scheme (CPS). Observing that all the sections in the State are the victims of Jagan’s rule, Atchen Naidu asked as to why Jagan and his partymen are scared of the Opposition alliance.

If Jagan has public support as he claims, why should he feel insecure when the TDP, Jana Sena and the BJP joined hands, he asked. Now the YSRCP leaders are well aware that their atrocities are no longer be allowed, he stated.

Kinjerapu Atchen Naidu is of the strong opinion that Jagan and his party leaders made every effort to transport people from 50 Assembly segments in six districts spending Rs 100 cr only to cheat the innocent people.

YSRCP for welfare, TDP for deceit, says Jagan

0

Slamming TDP for its opportunistic tie-ups, Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy said people are YSRCPs natural allies and they would spread the message of welfare across the State as it is tangible and seen all over.

He called upon the Party rank and file to take the message of welfare strongly to the people in their respective areas for making a clean sweep of 175 assembly and 25 Lok Sabha seats in the ensuing elections.

Addressing a mammoth gathering at the fourth Siddham public meeting here on Sunday, the Chief Minister asked them to make it clear to the people that the welfare measures will continue only if Jagan continues to be at the helm.
Stating that the YSRCP would soon release its election manifesto, he said that it contains only the promises that the Party could implement unlike the TDP which promises heaven but shows hell after coming to power as it did after winning the 2014 polls.

He said he is seeking political power to fulfill the dreams and aspirations of all demographic groups like women, farmers, the aged, school-going boys and girls and the youth for handing them over a golden future while Chandrababu Naidu is seeking political power for pursuing again the policy of plunder, stash and devour.

TDP which has copied its manifesto from other parties in the neighboring states in the name of six guarantees is seeking power for selfish ends while YSRCP wants political power for relieving the poor from the fetters of poverty, he said and told the Party cadre to publicize this.

“I seek political power for creating history in elevating the lives of the poor and transforming the society while having a permanent place in the history books and in your hearts while Naidu needs for his selfish ends.

Naidu has forged alliances with political parties which have no political stakes in the state, which have illogically and unethically divided the state, which have defaulted on the promise of special status for the State and which have only generals and no army, he said, adding his alliance is with people only.

Our welfare schemes have benefitted 87 per cent of the people across the State and the Party has fulfilled 99 per cent of the election promises, he said, adding that the TDP has no political credibility.

Describing the forthcoming elections as a war between YSRCP that stands for credibility, social justice and represents the poor and TDP that stands for deception, injustice and represents feudalistic forces, he called upon the cadre to convey the message that Naidu is approaching the voters again with fake promises which can’t be implemented. The ulterior designs of TDP and its allies should be exposed and defeated.
Stating that the YSRCP Government has delivered welfare benefits worth Rs. 2, 65,000crore through DBT schemes and Rs. 1,10,000 crore through non-DBT schemes to eligible beneficiaries without bias spending Rs.75, 000crore per year in the last 58 months, he said TDP and its allies have promised welfare schemes worth Rs. 1,40,000 crore every year.
How can Naidu pool the funds required for the schemes, he questioned, pointing out that the TDP leader wants to cheat the people again as he did in alliance with Jana Sena and BJP in 2014.

“My alliance is with you and God and YSRCP will take on the TDP and its allies alone,” he said, asking them to caution the people about the false and misleading election promises of Naidu.

Naidu’s cycle is unable to move as it has no wheels, tires and tubes and hence, he is seeking the alliances of other parties to move it, he said, asking how come the TDP is seeking alliances if it thinks YSRCP has not done any good for the people.

Naidu’s political party is just like a tree infested with pests and YSRCP is just like a fruit bearing tree.

The Chief Minister said that while YSRCP draws energy from its credibility and the smiles of every house that benefitted from the welfare schemes, Naidu draws his strength in alliances with others parties which do not matter in the State.

The Chief Minister stated that Chandrababu is a zero and its alliance will only make a big zero as the TDP leader and his allies can’t seek votes from the people as they have not done anything good to the State.

Fan should always be in the house while cycle should be kept out and the used tea glass should be in the kitchen sink, he said, asking the Party cadre to remind this to people.
“Beneficiaries of welfare schemes are my star campaigners and you should ensure they work like an army to work for the victory of YSRCP in the elections”, he said, saluting the lakhs of people who turned out for the public meeting.

0

Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy released Rs 1294.58 crore towards input subsidy benefiting 11,61,000 farmers who lost their crops due to drought during 2023 and Michaung cyclone in December last.

Releasing the amount with the click of a button from his camp office at Tadepalli on Wednesday, he said that Andhra Pradesh is the only State which has been paying input subsidy to farmers for crop loss in the same season.

Out of the Rs 1294.58 crore, Rs 847 crore is being paid as input subsidy to 6, 96,000 farmers hit by drought in 103 Mandals of 7 districts while the rest is paid to 4, 61, 000 farmers who suffered crop loss due to the Michaung cyclone.

So far, Government disbursed Rs 3262 crore under input subsidy to 34.41 lakh farmers who lost their crops due to natural calamities in the last 57 months, he said,

For the first time, the Government has been handholding farmers at every step through RBKs and village secretariats and crop loss compensation is made through e-cropping assessments and displaying the lists transparently.

This helps farmers and the official machinery to make corrections so that farmers would not suffer any financial loss and the Government has been taking several steps to avoid financial loss to farmers.

Citing the Michaung cyclone, the Chief Minister said that Government purchased 3,25,000 tons of discoloured paddy and added that financial assistance under Rythu Bharosa is benefiting 87 per cent of the farmers who own less than 1 hectare of land as it helps them meet 80 per cent of the cultivation expenses.

Naidu, Pawan announce Rs 4,000 monthly pension for above 50 years

Stating that the TDP is indebted for the Backward Classes (BCs) for their unstinted support to the party for the past 40 years, party president, Nara Chandrababu Naidu, said that the BC declaration is only aimed at repaying the debt for them.

Flanked by Jana Sena chief, Pawan Kalyan, announcing the BC declaration at a massive public meeting ‘Jayaho BCs’ held near Nagarjuna University, Chandrababu Naidu explained that the declaration includes payment of Rs 4,000 monthly pension for all the BCs who cross 50 years of age and allocation of Rs 1.5 lakh cr for five years through the BC sub-plan. Making a fervent appeal to the community to extend their cooperation to the TDP-Jana Sena combine to bring the State onto the track, Chandrababu Naidu said that this Chief Minister, Jagan Mohan Reddy, is treating the BCs as slaves.

Observing that Jagan has some sort of hatred towards the BCs, the TDP supremo said that Mr Jagan did not change the sitting MLAs, Peddireddy Ramachandra Reddy and Chevireddy Bhasker Reddy, but many sitting BC MLAs did not get the chance to be in the race again. In fact, there is no social justice during the Jagan rule but it is all axing the community, he remarked. Chandrababu Naidu said that the 10-point BC declaration is only aimed at achieving the progress of the backward communities, he said that the declaration has been formulated after detailed discussions with several senior leaders from both the TDP and the Jana Sena.

Stressing the need for caste census as per the laid down norms, Chandrababu Naidu said the census should include the economic status of all the BC communities and all the sub-castes should be given proper importance. “My sole aim is to accord priority to all the sub-castes and promote them in all sectors by according proper importance to them,” the TDP supremo maintained.

Regretting that over 300 BCs were killed for various reasons after the YSRCP came to power, he said illegal cases have been foisted against thousands of people belonging to the community. Chandrababu Naidu felt that this is nothing but to suppress the BCs who are growing politically. Promising to enact a separate legislation for the security of BCs by the coming TDP-Jana Sena government, Chandrababu Naidu warned of stringent action against all those who cause any kind of harm to the community.

Assuring the BCs to revive all the welfare schemes that were successfully implemented by the TDP regime, he said that all the pending buildings will be completed and the caste certificates will be issued to the BCs to prevent any kind of harassment by the official circles. Chandrababu Naidu felt that if there are no BCs comprising 153 sub-castes there is no culture.

Certain points mentioned in the declaration

1) Payment of Rs 4,000 monthly pension for all those who crossed 50 years of age

2) Enactment of separate legislation for the safety and security of BCs

3) Spending Rs 1.5 lakh cr through BC sub-plan in five years

4) Reviving 34 per cent reservation for BCs

5) Restoration of incentives for economic progress and providing employment opportunities

6) Caste census as per law

7) Revival of payment of Rs 10 lakh under Chandranna Bheema and hiking Pelli Kanuka to Rs 1 lakh

8) Handing over permanent caste certificates

9) Revival of all schemes to encourage education among BCs

10) Completion of BC Bhavana and community halls within one year of forming the government

Jagan launches Bhavitha for youth

0

Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy inaugurated Bhavitha, a programme that aims at changing the skill development eco system into a vibrant one for preparing the youth to meet the growing needs of the industry, here on Tuesday.
Addressing students and youth trained in various skills after the launch, the Chief Minister said that Bhavitha is a wholesome and comprehensive programme that brings convergence of the industry with institutions like ITI and Polytechnic Colleges. The programme’s sole objective is empowerment of the youth with the knowledge of various skills, he said.

To make the youth globally competitive, the Government has started revolutionizing the educational system to enable students to get certificates from international educational institutions like Harvard and MIT in emerging courses, the Chief Minister said.

He said that 158 industrial units have come forward to train our ITI and Polytechnic students in various skills and employ them in their organizations.

Prashant Kishore’s Sensational Comments: Jagan’s downfall is inevitable and substantial

Renowned political strategist Prashant Kishor has sent shockwaves through Andhra Pradesh’s political arena with his recent bold predictions about the state’s upcoming elections. His sensational comments during the press conclave event have sent shockwaves through the state’s political landscape, particularly for YS Jagan Mohan Reddy’s ruling party.

Prashant Kishor’s Sensational Comments:

At a Press Conclave event, Prashant Kishor made sensational declarations, leaving no room for ambiguity. He unequivocally stated that Jagan’s impending defeat in the upcoming elections is certain. This assertion has reverberated across political circles, signaling potential upheaval in Andhra Pradesh’s political landscape. Kishor’s analysis suggests a looming victory for the Telugu Desam Party- Janasena alliance, indicating a shift in power dynamics within the state.

Prashant Kishore’s Rationale for predicting Jagan’s defeat:

Kishor minced no words as he dissected the current political climate in Andhra Pradesh. He emphasized that the electorate is clamoring for change, spelling trouble for Jagan’s government. He underscored that a mere monetary distribution cannot secure votes from people. He highlighted the need for substantive development alongside welfare measures. He opined that Jagan had put all the eggs in a single basket. He added that people expect political leaders to be more than just “providers”, taking a dig at Jagan’s opinion that money distribution schemes will ensure his victory in the next elections. According to Kishor, effective governance entails more than dispensing funds; it necessitates genuine progress and upliftment of the populace.

Comparative Analysis with KCR’s Fate:

He compared Jagan’s current situation with the fate of KCR in Telangana. Kishor predicted a similar outcome for Jagan in AP, suggesting an impending electoral setback for the incumbent Chief Minister.

YSRCP leaders and Cadres respond:

In response to Kishor’s damning predictions, YSRCP leaders have been swift to react. Ambati Rambabu dismissed Kishor’s credibility, drawing parallels with political analyst Lagadapati whose forecasts had proven inaccurate in the past.

YSRCP cadres also pointed out Kishor’s earlier prediction of KCR’s victory in the 2023 Telangana Assembly elections, which subsequently turned out to be incorrect.

Impact on Neutral Voters:

Prashant Kishor is currently not working as a political consultant for any political party. His transition away from active political consulting underscores his current neutrality in electoral campaigns. As a result, his remarks are likely to resonate strongly with neutral voters, shaping their perceptions and influencing their electoral decisions.

Prashant Kishor’s unequivocal assertion of Jagan’s imminent defeat has sent political tremors across the state. His comments have already become viral on media and social media. We need to wait and see how various parties respond to these comments.

Jagan releases Rs 708 Cr for Vidya Devena to 9.44 lakh students

0

Chief Minister Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy released Rs.708.68crore towards Jagananna Vidya Deevena for total fee reimbursement for the quarter October-December 2023. The amount would be directly credited into the joint bank accounts of 9,44,666 students and their mothers.

Addressing a huge public meeting before releasing the amount with the click of a button here on Friday, the Chief Minister said that Jagananna Vidya Deevena (JVD) and other schemes help students from poor families to pursue higher education, get professional degrees and boldly face the competitive job market.

While elaborating on the educational reforms and their tangible results, the Chief Minister took TDP President Chandrababu, his foster son Pawan Kalyan and their friendly media to task for opposing reforms in the education sector.

It’s not the right to education but the right to quality education is what we need. Government has been striving to reform the system introducing English Medium, digitization, modern and emerging subjects like AI and IB besides upgrading school infrastructure through Nadu-Nedu so that our Government school students receive quality education, pursue global courses and face the competition easily in the world job market.

If we continue the momentum of the present educational reforms, we will find our students working in top companies and attaining high positions after a few years, he said.

However, it is unfortunate that TDP President Chandrababu Naidu, his foster son and their friendly media have declared a war on the reforms in education while their children are pursuing education in English medium, the Chief Minister said,

Unlike during the TDP rule, the Government has brought more students into the purview of Vidya Deevena to prevent families from falling into debt trap, he said, adding that the scheme covers 93 per cent of the students pursuing professional courses.

The Chief Minister said that the Government has been making huge investments in the educational sector as it believes that education is the only weapon that eradicates poverty.

Under JVD, Government has been making regular quarterly payments soon after completion of the quarter and so far, it has spent Rs. 12,610 crore benefiting 29,65,930 students pursuing ITI, Polytechnic, Degree, Engineering, Medicine and other professional courses, he said, adding that Government incurred Rs.72,919crore on educational reforms in the last 57 months.

While Jagan is taking four steps forward in reforming the educational and other sectors, Naidu and his supporters are trying to pull him back by eight steps. People should realize that all welfare programmes and reforms would stop if Naidu is at the helm.

Not only in other sectors, even in the educational sector, we are facing a class war from the feudal forces led by Naidu and his supporters, he said, adding that the results of the reforms are tangible in our government school students representing the country in UN forums.

Jagan is the only Chief Minister who has gone into the details of the school and college curriculum and taken steps to introduce modern and emerging courses like AI, verticals like risk management, machine learning, virtual and augmented reality, investment banking and management, robotics, virtual building designs, intellectual communication, risk return and supply chain management.

Despite serving three terms as Chief Minister, Chandrababu Naidu never paid attention towards education and instead of reforming the system, he diluted the Government schools for promoting corporate schools like Narayana and Chaitanya, the Chief Minister said and asked the people to be wary of the evil designs of Naidu and his supporters.

He called upon the people to become his soldiers and stand by him in the ensuing days if they feel they are benefitted by various welfare schemes. Some of the students who benefitted from JVD also spoke on the occasion.

Jagan releases Rs 1294 Cr for Rythu Bharosa to farmers

0

Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy released Rs. 1294.34 crore towards the third tranche of YSR Rythu Bharosa–PM Kisan for the fifth year and interest subvention for the fourth year in a row under YSR Sunna Vaddi Panta Runalu.

Releasing the amount at the Camp Office at Tadepalli on Wednesday, the Chief Minister stated that the State welfare depends on farmers’ welfare and keeping that in mind, the Government has taken several steps for the welfare of farmers in the last 57months.

Out of the Rs. 1294.34crore released, Rs. 1078.36crore is meant for Rythu Bharosa under which 53.58 lakh farmers will receive Rs. 2000 each directly into their bank accounts while 10, 78,615 farmers will receive Rs 215.98 crore towards interest subvention for timely repayment of interest on crop loans taken during the Rabi 2021 and Kharif 2022 seasons.

Under the scheme, the Government pays Rs.13,500 each in three installments every year with the first and second tranches of Rs. 7500 and Rs. 4000 being paid in May or June for Kharif sowing and in October or November for Kharif harvesting and Rabi requirements respectively. The third tranche of Rs 2000 would be paid in January or February for Rabi harvest.

The Chief Minister said that the Government has paid Rs. 67,500 each under Rythu Bharosa in the last 57 months, paying an extra of Rs. 17,500 each than the promised Rs. 50,000 in five years in the YSRCP election manifesto.

Government has been implementing various welfare schemes with commitment for the benefit of farmers and hand holding them at every step, unlike the previous TDP regime that ditched the farming community by defaulting on the Rs. 87, 612crore loan waiver promise, he said.

He further said that while an amount of Rs. 34, 288crore was incurred under Rythu Bharosa–PM Kisan so far, Rs.2050.53crore was spent on interest subvention that benefitted 84.66 lakh farmers under YSR Sunna Vaddi Panta Runalu.

The Chief Minister said that 50 per cent of farmers own less than half a hector and 70 per cent of farmers own less than 1 hector and stressed that these two schemes would be very helpful to the small and marginal farmers in meeting 80 per cent of cultivation expenses.

Government has also been implementing several other schemes for the farmers including nine hour free power supply during day time and input subsidy , he said, adding that so far a whopping Rs. 1, 84, 567crore has been spent on farmers’ welfare.

Govt planning to inaugurate Rishi Konda project!

0

The state government is planning to inaugurate the Rishi Konda project in Visakhapatnam at the earliest. Even as some cases are pending in the state high court, the government plans to move ahead and inaugurate it. It also wants to shift some offices to the new buildings constructed on Rishi Konda.

There are some works still pending on the Rishi Konda. Some buildings are yet to be completed and some of the internal works are pending. There are a few more buildings where interior work is still pending. However, the government wants to inaugurate the project and move there despite the court cases.

The government had spent over Rs 450 crore on Rishi Konda for construction of new buildings. The existing buildings were demolished and the new buildings were constructed on the middle of the hill. One of the buildings is being planned for the use of the chief minister’s camp office.

The state government had already issued two GOs four months ago to shift some government offices to Visakhapatnam to facilitate the chief minister and other ministers to review the development of north Andhra region. The government had proposed that some ministers visit the north Andhra region and hold review meetings for the development of the region.

The state government had spent Rs 240 crore for the construction work, Rs 46 crore for roads and water supply, Rs 8.58 crore for compound wall and Rs 4.20 crore for gardening and greenery on the hill. The state government had spent another Rs 10 crore for soft landing and hard scaping in 10 acres of land through the Andhra Pradesh Urban Greening and Beautification Corporation.

The government is yet to provide furniture for the buildings and others. The officials have provided a road from the helipad at the Rishi Konda beach.

However, it is not known whether the government would use the buildings for the chief minister’s camp office and camp offices for other ministers or lease it to provide companies for maintenance. There is also uncertainty over the use of the project as there is a rumour that the AP Tourism Corporation would use it for maintenance.

AP Assembly Speaker axes 8 rebel MLAs

0

The Andhra Pradesh Assembly speaker had acted on the disqualification petitions of the YSR Congress and the TDP against its MLAs. He disqualified eight MLAs, four each from the two parties.

YSR Congress MLAs, Anam Ramanarayana Reddy, Mekapati Chandrasekhar Reddy, Kotamreddy Sridhar Reddy and Undavalli Sridevi, TDP MLAs Karanam Balaramakrishna Murthy, Vallabhaneni Vamsi Mohan, Maddali Giridhar and Vasupalli Ganesh Kumar, were disqualified for the rest of the term of the Assembly.

The two parties have petitioned against their MLAs alleging that they have crossed the floor in violation of the Anti-Defection Law. The provisions of the Anti-Defection Act would attract these MLAs, the two parties told the speaker.

In the TDP, the four MLAs have become the associate members of the ruling party from 2020 to 2022. Vallabhaneni Vamsi was the first to cross the floor, followed by Maddali Giridhar, Vasupalli Ganesh and Karanam Balaramakrishna Murthy.

The four MLAs from the YSR Congress have defected during the MLC elections in which Panchumarthy Anuradha filed as candidate from the TDP. The YSR Congress lost the MLC seat to the TDP with the defection of these four MLAs.

The ruling YSR Congress took the decision first on the eve of the Rajya Sabha elections. The party thought that the TDP would field its candidates in the Rajya Sabha elections, and its four MLAs would vote for the TDP. The party had first submitted the letter to the Speaker, followed by the TDP.

Though the Rajya Sabha elections were held unanimously, the speaker took the decision and disqualified the members. The TDP did not field its candidate as expected, giving a sigh of relief to the ruling YSR Congress.

Expressing confidence that the TDP-Jana Sena alliance is a super hit, TDP supremo, Nara Chandrababu Naidi, said that Chief Minister, Jagan Mohan Reddy, has initially made every effort to damage the tie-up since he has failed in this, he is now hatching conspiracies to break the alliance.

Terming Jagan as a traitor of North Andhra, Chandrababu Naidu said that he has done his Ph D in uttering lies. This Chief Minister, who has completely ignored the RTC, has purchased bullet-proof cars spending crores of public money, Chandrababu Naidu observed.

How can the people repose faith in Jagan who has revoked several welfare schemes that are beneficial for the poor but looted thousands of crores of public money, the TDP supremo asked. “Will the people believe Jagan’s claim that he is in favour of the poor,” he said.

Expressing confidence that the people of Srikakulam will again honour the TDP who have been respecting the party since its inception, Chandrababu Naidu said that he has a special affection for Srikakulam district. “This is a district which has sent most powerful leaders like Yerran Naidu, to the State, let us begin our meeting recollecting his services,” he stated.

Asking the massive gathering whether they are ready to send Jagan, who is responsible for this atrocious rule, Chandrababu Naidu said that everyone is a victim of this Government. Maintaining that the State has suffered heavily due to bifurcation, he said he has prepared a vision for 2029 giving priority for Amaravati, Polavaram and for setting up of industries.

Expressing serious concern that the poor have become poorest in Jagan’s rule, he said that only the YSRCP leaders have become rich. The youth have no jobs while the prices of essential commodities have gone up so steeply pushing the common man into trouble. This Chief Minister has imposed Rs 8 lakh on every family, he added.

Observing that the dream of the TDP founder, late NTR Rama Rao, is to build a poverty-free society, Chandrababu Naidu said that this is the reason as to why he has created equal rights for women in ancestral properties. Making it clear that the TDP-Jana Sena alliance is a super-hit, Chandrababu Naidu said that the YSRCP is not even getting candidates to contest the coming elections.

Regretting that even the media has no freedom in the State, the TDP national president said that those who are projecting facts are being subjected to attacks. “This Chief Minister is a psycho and has some mental imbalance,” he remarked. He said that if the YSRCP leaders fold their shirts the TDP activists will fold the chairs to send the YSRCP home.

Chandrababu Naidu promised to work for interlinking of the Vamsadhara and the Nagavali rivers on a warfootingh basis once the TDP-Jana Sena combine is into power in the coming polls. The TDP supremo also promised to fulfil all the promises made to the people of North Andhra.

Addressing a huge public meeting here on Monday after conducting special prayers at the canal and releasing water at Rajupet in Ramakuppam mandal, the Chief Minister said Government worked with strong commitment for the development of the constituency though it was totally neglected during the TDP rule.
Sating that the release of water from Kuppam Branch Canal would be written in golden letters in the region’s history, the Chief Minister said he has fulfilled his promise given to the people in a public meeting at Kuppam on Sept 23, 2022.
After giving administrative sanction to Kuppam Branch Canal in 2015 and giving contract to his benamis, Naidu treated it as a canal of money flow into his pockets but abandoned it later as he couldn’t find the flow enough, he said.
Though Naidu abandoned it, Government strived hard to bring Krishna water to Kuppam, 540 meters upstream and 670 km away from Srisailam as part of the Handri Niva Project, he said.
The 123.641 km long Kuppam Branch Canal was constructed with a cost of Rs. 560.29crore under the AVR HNSS Project Phase-2 to strengthen the ayacut connecting 110 minor irrigation tanks in Kuppam constituency.
He said that Government has upgraded Kuppam from panchayat to municipality besides establishing Revenue Division and a police sub-division for Kuppam.
He said Rs.66crore has been sanctioned for various development works in Kuppam municipality and Rs. 100crore for development works in four Mandals of Kuppam constituency besides giving administrative approvals for construction of Rs.215crore reservoir as part of Palar project.
Government has also given administrative approvals for the construction of two reservoirs at Madanapalle near Shantipuram Mandal and Yamigani Palle near Gudipalli Mandal with a cost of Rs. 535crore. These reservoirs will irrigate an additional 5000 acres, he said.
Earlier, the Chief Minister also laid foundation stone Palar project.

Jagan distributes house site pattas at Ongole

0

Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy formally launched the distribution of registered conveyance deeds of house sites to 31.19 lakh beneficiaries who received house site pattas under Navaratnalu-Pedalandariki Illu.

The Chief Minister also formally handed over house site pattas and conveyance deeds to 20,480 in Ongole Municipal Corporation limits, besides sanctioning funds for construction of houses. Government spent Rs 231 crore for purchasing land and developing lay out.
Addressing a huge public meeting before handing over the conveyance deeds to the women here on Friday, the Chief Minister said Government has done away with the policy of giving D-Pattas to the poor beneficiaries of house sites to remove disparities in conferring ownership rights.

Government has been following a uniform policy in conferring ownership rights on the allotted house sites to the poor as well as to other privileged sections like IAS officials, he said, adding this is in pursuance of the policy to treat all sections of society equally.
Hence, Government has decided to distribute freely registered conveyance deeds conferring full rights on the beneficiaries after 10 years and the registered documents would be made available at village and ward secretariats.

Government has been implementing reforms in education, medical and health and other sectors to narrow down disparities between the poor and rich sections of society so that the children from the weaker sections pursue English medium education on par with the children from the privileged sections.

He said Government has also enhanced the free medical treatment limit to Rs. 25 lakh under the YSR Aarogyasri scheme so that the poor would also be able to get medical treatment on par with the rich.

Disbursal of Rs.2, 55,000 crore through DBT welfare schemes, out of which 70 per cent of the benefit has gone to the SC, ST, BC and minority communities, resulted in their economic empowerment, he said, adding that provision of 50 per cent reservation in the nominated posts has also resulted in their social and political empowerment.

The Chief Minister also laid foundation stone virtually for the Rs. 335crore water works scheme.
Ongole MLA Balineni Srinivasa Reddy, several people’s representatives and senior officials participated in the programme.

Raghurama complains to EC against AP CM

0

YSR Congress rebel MP K Raghurama Krishnam Raju on Friday lodged a complaint with the Election Commission against chief minister Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy and the State government. He took strong exception to the state government issuing orders to keep two helicopters ready for the use of the chief minister.

The rebel MP said that the chief minister wants to use the helicopters for his election campaign. He said that the chief minister wants to use the helicopters procured at the cost of the state exchequer for his election campaign.

The state government had issued orders on Thursday to keep two helicopters ready for the use of the chief minister. One helicopter would be kept at Vijayawada while the other would be kept at Visakhapatnam. The chief minister has a threat from the Naxalites and hence the helicopters are required for his safety.

The state government said that the chief minister would tour the north Andhra region using the helicopter from Visakhapatnam and the rest of the state from Vijayawada. The government wants to ensure that the chief minister’s security is tightened, and he is safe from any attacks.

The rebel MP said that it was against the election code as the chief minister wants to use the government money for the election campaign. He wanted the Election Commission to look into the issue and ensure that the chief minister does not use the helicopters for his party electioneering.

He also alleged that the chief minister was resorting to several election irregularities. He was also using the government functions to give political speeches, the MP said. The MP wanted; the Election Commission to regulate the chief minister and prevent him from making political statements from the government programmes.

The rebel MP alleged that the chief minister was using the government functions for his political campaign. He cited the example of house sites distribution at Ongole in Prakasam district on Friday. He said that the programme was organised by the government, but the chief minister had given a political speech making it a political meeting.

AP police arrest Congress chief Sharmila

0

The Andhra Pradesh police on Thursday arrested AP Congress president Y S Sharmila at Andhra Rathna Bhavan, the AP Congress headquarters in Vijayawada. Sharmila condemned the arrest and said that the government was more dictatorial.

The police arrested her when she tried to move out of the Andhra Rathna Bhavan to Secretariat, as part of the Congress Party’s call of Chalo Secretariat seeking mega DSC from the State government. She said that chief minister Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy had promised to release the job calendar every year and had promised to fill the teacher posts through DSC. However, the job calendar was never released, and the DSC was never conducted, she said.

Sharmila alleged that the government was scared of the Congress. The government had become more dictatorial by arresting the opposition leaders. She wondered why the chief minister is scared of the opposition leaders.

The police have first arrested CWC leader Gidugu Rudra Raju and Sunkara Padmasri. Later, they arrested Sharmila. The police have posted heavy security at Andhra Rathna Bhavan and all the way to Velagapudi secretariat. They have blocked the roads and conducted thorough checks along the road. They prevented the Congress workers from moving on the roads leading to the secretariat.

Earlier, Sharmila slept in the Andhra Rathna Bhavan fearing that she would be arrested by the police. She took a rest in the Andhra Rathna Bhavan and planned to go to Velagapudi. However, the police prevented the Congress leaders from coming out of the party office.

The police have also arrested several Congress leaders and kept some under house arrest. The Congress leaders were not allowed to move on the roads leading to mild clashes between the Congress leaders and the police.

The police also posted several teams in Guntur, Krishna and NTR districts, besides keeping the senior leaders under house arrest in various districts across the state. The party leaders who tried to come out of their homes were also arrested and shifted to the nearest police station.

Earlier in the day, Sharmila sat in protest at the Andhra Rathna Bhavan in Vijayawada. She raised slogans against the state government. She also demanded that the state government take up teacher recruitment through the DSC.

Naidu condemns attacks on media, demands stringent action

0

Strongly condemning ‘consistent attacks’ on the media, TDP president, Nara Chandrababu Naidu, demanded stringent action against those involved in such attacks.

Chandrababu Naidu also demanded action against Chief Minister, Jagan Mohan Reddy, for making false statements to provoke hatred and enmity among groups only with the sole aim of instigating violence. “Ever since the YSRCP came to power there have been consistent State-sponsored attacks on the freedom of the Press, on media houses, journalists and photographers,” Chandrababu Naidu said.

He felt that the Go no. 2430 issued in October 2019 is aimed at suppressing the voice which resulted in murders, physical and verbal attacks on journalists across the State. In the run up to the 2024 election, the YSRCP appears to have unleashed a series of attacks on the media in general and journalists in particular, he added.

Recalling the recent attack on a contributor in Amaravathi mandal of Palnadu district on February 14, Chandrababu Naidu said that the crime that the scribe committed was that he exposed the sand mafia involving the YSRCP leaders. Again, within four days, on February 18 a photographer of a popular Telugu daily (Andhra Joythy), was brutally attacked right under the nose of Jagan Mohan Reddy during his political meeting at Rapthadu in Anantapur district, he said adding that regrettably the police remained as mute spectators in both the incidents.

Within two of these incidents having taken place, on Monday, February 20, the YSRCP mob attacked the office of again the most popular Telugu daily (Eenadu), in Kurnool, Chandrababu Naidu mentioned in the letter. A mob led by Panyam MLA and YSRCP leader, K Rambhupal Reddy, pelted the office of the daily with stones and created a situation of fear for almost an hour, he added. On the same day, a reporter of another popular daily (Andhra Jyothy) was physically attacked at Maddikera in Kurnool district when he was on duty covering the YSRCP political meeting, Mr Chandrababu pointed out.

Chandrababu Naidu believes that all these attacks are State sponsored against the freedom of the Press and media and they are not isolated incidents resorted to by the ‘YSRCP goons’ but are instigated by their leader, Jagan Mohan Reddy. Jagan, at a public meeting gestured folding his sleeves and asked his party cadre too to do the same, he said and stated that such acts meant that one is ready for physical bout on their opponents.

This apart, Jagan has been consistently blaming a section of media for his pitfalls and it is already a known fact that Jagan has used the police force to foist false cases against the heads of reputed and respected media houses only to harass them so that they will surrender to him, Chandrababu Naidu stated. It is really unfortunate that Jagan till now did not condemn these attacks and did not care for the life of an innocent photographer who was performing his duty, he noted.

Shamelessly, a former minister justified these attacks and has the audacity to state that the heads of these respected media houses would have been killed had they been in these meetings, the TDP supremo regretted. Strongly condemning what he called the failure of the respective district police to prevent such attacks from taking place and their failure to initiate immediate action against the persons involved in these attacks, Chandrababu Naidu made an appeal to the DGP to nab the culprits immediately and take urgent steps to initiate action against them besides against the conspirators involved behind this heinous crime.

“Also, it is important to initiate action against Jagan Mohan Reddy for making false statements to provoke hatred and enmity among groups to instigate violence,” Chandrababu Naidu said and felt that only a prompt action would ensure that freedom of Press is safeguarded and democratic norms are upheld in the State.
