“Are you ready to help me with a ‘double-century’ government?” Jagan asks people

0

Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy has called the TDP Chief Chandrababu Naidu a ‘sadist’ for stopping the volunteers from delivering the pension on people’s doorstep, which irked the senior citizens and old age people, and asked the public to take revenge on TDP on May 13 (Polling Day) at the public meeting near Puthalapattu as part of his Memantha Siddham Yatra on Wednesday.

Addressing the crowd gathered in the arena, the Chief Minister said, “Seeing the elderly people suffer today since they couldn’t walk to collect their pensions, I can’t help but wonder if Chandrababu Naidu possesses any humanity or if he’s a sadist since he stalled the volunteers from disbursing the pension by approaching the Election Commission.”

He asked the crowd whether they were ready for this war to protect the future of the poor. “Go to every household and ask them if they have benefited from the welfare schemes,” said Chief Minister Jagan while noting that YSRCP would reinstate the volunteer system once they come back to power.

“This is a war between Chandrababu Naidu, who is a habitual liar and cheat, and Jagan on the other side, who does everything for the people. Are you ready to help me win 175/175 assembly seats and 25/25 Lok Sabha seats to defeat the corrupt? Are you ready to help me with a double-century government?” Jagan asks the energetic crowd.

“People gave them (TDP) an opportunity in the past to do good but did they fulfill it? Have an open discussion amongst yourselves and make a conscious decision. People should discuss what they (Chandrababu’s government) provided in their 10-year rule. Check your bank statement from earlier years. Were you able to find even a single scheme through which Naidu deposited one rupee in your account,” said the Chief Minister.

The Chief Minister also explained the schemes introduced by the YSRCP government from village secretariats, revolutionizing government schools, village clinics, DBT to women beneficiaries, Rythu Bharosa Kendras to help farmers to other doorstep delivery services to help the people.

“We are the only state which provides pensions to 66 lakh people. Further, we gave Rs 34,370 crores to the farmers (Rythu Bharosa), and free crop insurance of Rs. 7,800 crores was paid. Through input subsidy, the farmers were given Rs. 3,262 crores. And in total, only through DBT, Rs 2.7 lakh crores were directly deposited in the beneficiary accounts under various welfare schemes,” said the Chief Minister.

On the 7th day of the Memantha Siddham Yatra Chief Minister started his roadshow from Sadum Mandal in the morning and proceeded via Kallur, Damalacheruvu, Gundlapalli, Talaupulapalli, Tenepalli to Pulalapattu where he addressed the public meeting. After the meeting, he started towards the night halt at Renigunta in Tirupati via Gollapalli, Gadanki, Kongaravari Palem, and Mamanduru.

Naidu terms Jagan as Dalit traitor as 188 Dalits were killed in 5 years

0

Terming Chief Minister, Jagan Mohan Reddy, as a traitor of Dalits, TDP president and former chief minister, Nara Chandrababu Naidu, said here on Saturday that at least 188 persons belonging to the Dalit community have been killed in various parts of the State in the past five years while 11,000 Dalits have been subjected to various kinds of attacks.

Addressing a largely attended public meeting at Naidupet of Sullurpet Assembly segment in Tirupati district as part of the Praja Galam, Chandrababu Naidu expressed the opinion that the people will not excuse him for the blunders that he had committed in these five years. “Give rest to Jagan by defeating him in these elections as this is the only lesson that the people can teach him for his blunders,” the TDP supremo remarked.

Asking the massive gathering whether they want a leader who can create assets and distribute them among the people or a leader who can lead the State towards bankruptcy, Chandrababu Naidu promised to build houses for the poor by distributing them two cents of land each. Cheered at the positive response from the huge gathering, the TDP supremo expressed confidence that the NDA victory is certain in the State.

Stating that Lord Krishna excused Sisupala despite committing 100 mistakes, he said Jagan, however, had committed 1,000 blunders and asked whether the people will excuse him for which they unitedly said ‘no’. “I am happy at your tremendous response and this should lay the foundation for the victory of the alliance in the State,” Chandrababu Naidu noted.

Justice is not done to a single person in Jagan’s rule, he said and added that this is the basic reason as to why everyone is angry at Jagan. Making an appeal to the people to extend their support to the Tirupati candidate of the alliance, Vara Prasada Rao, and Vijaya Sri, the daughter of Nelavala Subrahmanyam, who is contesting from Sullurpet Assembly segment, Chandrababu Naidu said that industries were set up in the State to prevent migrations of the youth during the TDP regime, this Chief Minister chased them out throwing the future of the youth into oblivion.

Reiterating that the coming NDA government will take all measures for the welfare of all sections, including bringing in a legislation for the safety of the BCs, supply of safe drinking water to every doorstep and payment of Rs 4,000 monthly pension for all the eligible, the former chief minister said that assets will be created and distributed to the poor. Observing that Surllurpet is a bastion of Dalits, Chandrababu Naidu said that Jagan has totally deceived the community and even withdrew the welfare schemes implemented during the TDP regime.

Making an appeal to the people to vote for the alliance candidates and bring the NDA to power both at the Centre and in the State, Chandrababu Naidu assured the gathering that all the promises made to them will be implemented on a warfooting basis and employment opportunities will be provided for the youth.

Praja Galam is shining while Sidhham is fading, says Naidu

While the Praja Galam meetings are beaming with heavy glow the Sidhham meetings of Chief Minister, Jagan Mohan Reddy, are fading away, observed the TDP supremo and former chief minister, Nara Chandrababu Naidu, on Saturday.

Addressing a colossal public gathering as part of the Praja Galam election campaign, Chandrababu Naidu said that Jagan is an egoist and highly corrupt with destructive attitude. Stating that several industries have been set up at Renigunta during the TDP regime, the former chief minister said that after the YSRCP came to power these leaders have begun extortions of these industrialists.

Steps were also initiated for temple tourism of Titupati, Srikalahasti and Kanipakam, he said “our’s is welfare while Jagan’s is creating a crisis.” The YSRCP rule is filled with commissions, land grabbings and rowdyism, Chandrababu Naidu said and expressed confidence that the people are thus ready to teach a lesson to Jagan.

Maintaining that the State witnessed industrial development only during the TDP regime, Chandrababu Naidu made it clear that there is no question of excusing anyone who had committed blunders to damage the State. “As the chief minister of the State I have taken stringent steps to check smuggling of red sanders while Mr Jagan has fielded the red sanders smuggler as the Chittoor Assembly candidate,” the TDP supremo said.

Expressing concern that even attempts are being made to pollute the highly sacred Tirumala temple which is famous globally, Chandrababu Naidu promised to establish a totally corrupt-free government after these elections. Fondly recalling the steps that he had taken to develop Hyderabad, the former chief minister said that today the city is in a number one position in the world because of his vision.

Assuring the youth that Mega DSC will be notified immediately after he takes charge as the chief minister, Chandrababu Naidu said that steps will also be taken for the protection of the poor and for their health. Reiterating his commitment to build houses for the poor in two cents, Chandrababu Naidu made it clear that the ongoing colonies will be continued. “I will take the State towards the golden era from the stone era and I will be the driver of the State,” he added.

What is most important is that Chandrababu Naidu promised to convert Chennai, Tirupati and Nellore as tri-cities and will bring the State back on track. He also made it clear that those who had committed any kind of mistake will not be spared. Chandrababu Naidu told the people that the TDP, the Jana Sena and the BJP have come together only in the interest of the people and assured them that he will take the State much forward on a fast pace.

Women hold protest with empty pots in Jagan tour

0

Hundreds of women held a protest with empty pots in chief minister Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy’s bus yatra in Kurnool district on Saturday. The women holding empty pots walked towards the bus in which Jagan Mohan Reddy was travelling at Jonnagiri village of Thuggali mandal in Kurnool district.

The women said that they have drinking water problem in the village. No party had addressed the issue so far, they said. They further blamed the chief minister for not attending to their problem in the last five years. They wanted the chief minister to resolve the issue without further delay.

The security personnel and the ruling YSR Congress leaders tried to stop the women approaching the bus. As they did not go back or stop moving forward, Jagan Mohan Reddy finally got down from the bus and interacted with some women.

The women complained to the chief minister that they have no drinking water in the village. They said that they have been giving representations to every leader. The issue is to be addressed without further delay, they said.

The chief minister told them that he would look into the issue. He further told them that he would resolve the issue and give them drinking water. It was then the women gave the way to the chief minister to move forward in the bus.

The issue shocked the ruling party leaders in Kurnool district. The chief minister was angry at the party’s local leaders for allowing the women to hold a protest in front of him. He wondered why the leaders allowed the women to come on to the roads with empty pots.

The chief minister told the party leaders to resolve the issue before it becomes an election issue. He advised the leaders to take care of such issues before his bus moves forward. He said he does not want to see such protests in future. He further told them that such protests would give negative publicity for the party.

Take forward YSRCP success story, Jagan tells people

0

Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy called upon the people to tale forward the success story of YSRCP by giving it a clean sweep of 175 Assembly and 25 Lok Sabha seats and rejecting the anti-people combine of TDP, Jana Sena and BJP in the forthcoming elections.

Addressing a huge public meeting here on Thursday on the second day of the ‘Memanta Siddham’ poll campaign, the Chief Minister urged people to take forward the winning streak of YSRCP while showing the exit door to the opposition from politics.

For the first time in the country, the poor in Andhra Pradesh are experiencing due respect in the last 58 months, he said, adding that Government spent Rs. 2.7 lakh crore implementing various welfare schemes for ushering in their social and economic empowerment while TDP pursued the policy of plunder, stash and devour and is hatching conspiracies hand in glove with Jana Sena and BJP to exploit the people again.

Describing the sea of humanity that thronged the public meeting as the YSRCP people’s army, he said that people across the State are ready to teach a fitting lesson to the TDP-led alliance to ensure that anti-people Government doesn’t come to power again.

Listing out various welfare schemes like Amma Vodi, YSR Cheyutha, Aasara, Jagananna Vidya Deevena, Vasathi Deevena, Rythu Bharosa, Kapu Nestham, delivery of monthly social pensions at door-step and EBC Nestham, he asked the people to think why Chandrababu Naidu failed to implement similar schemes during his rule.

Telling the people that revolutionary changes took place in the last 58 months in educational, medical and health and agricultural sectors to improve educational standards of students, provide preventive health care with village clinics and family doctors and handhold the farmers at every step through RBKs, the Chief Minister asked the people to assess why Naidu failed to carry out similar reforms.
Recalling how TDP defaulted and cheated people on promises of waiver of farm and self-help group loans, Maha Lakshmi and Kuteera Lakshmi schemes, jobs for the youth and stipend for the unemployed and three-cents of house sites for the poor after winning 2014 polls in alliance with Jana Sena and BJP and distributing signed election manifestoes, he said they have ganged up again to take people for a ride once again.

Besides implementing slew of welfare schemes and reforms in several sectors, Government is also building 17 new medical colleges, four sea ports and 10 fishing harbors and brining in investments to put the State on path of development, he said, adding that new districts have been carved out and three Capitals were proposed for decentralized growth.

He told the people that, despite ruling the State for 14 years, Chandrababu Naidu did not work even to bring about a meagre five percent change of what he did in the last 58 months.

It is in the hands of people to decide whether they want the door-to-door welfare and development saga to continue for the next five years by electing YSRCP back to power or take the State backwards by 10 years by electing the TDP and its allies.

The Chief Minister said that the ensuing polls are a battle between justice led by YSRCP and injustice led by TDP and its allies and called upon the people not to fall prey to the conspiracies being hatched by TDP in cahoots with Jana Sena and BJP to deprive the poor of their welfare benefits.

It is only after YSRCP came to power that election manifestoes gained credibility, the Chief Minister said, adding that Chandrababu brand stands for cheating all sections of people.

There is nothing great about TDP or its political allies except for taking people for a ride, he said and urged them to vote back the YSRCP to power in the ensuing elections to continue the welfare and development saga.

TDP activists catch huge dump of ruling YSRCP material

0

In a dramatic turn of events, Telugudesam Party activists in Srikalahasti assembly constituency have caught a huge dump of material worth Rs. 50 crores related to the ruling YSRCP.

Three trucks were loaded fully with material outside the godown in old airport road in Renigunta, a small town in Srikalahasti Assembly segment. TDP activists immediately raised a complaint at around 2 PM in the afternoon on Election Commission’s recently introduced app C-Vigil.

However, Telugudesam Party leaders Bojjala Sudhakar Reddy, Srikalahasti TDP incharge,. Pulivarthi Nani, Chandragiri TDP incharge and Narsimha Yadav, TDP leader had raided the godown premises and found a notebook containing details of to whom the material was sent across the State.

The material included wrist watches with YSRCP Chief YS Jaganmohan Reddy’s picture, sarees, dummy EVMs, cookers, umbrellas, speakers, dashboard flag stands, grinders, cookers, etc, among other consumer durables.

TDP leaders allege that there are other four godowns dumped with such material to lure the voters in favour of YSRCP. TDP leaders lament about the lukewarm response from the local Election officials including district collector and district Superintendent of Police (SP).

The godown was videographed and locked by the revenue officials saying that they will come back tomorrow. Meanwhile, TDP leaders allege that local officials are working in favour of the ruling YSRCP leaders like Chevireddy Bhaskar Reddy and Biyappu Madhusudhan Reddy

Lokesh confident of Jagan’s defeat

0

As the people of the State, who are fed up with the five-year atrocious rule, have already decided to confine Chief Minister, Jagan Mohan Reddy, to the Tadepalle palace, he is now trying to manipulate the public opinion with cheap politics, said TDP general secretary, Nara Lokesh, on Wednesday.

Since the YSRCP leaders have already come to a decision that it is not possible to win the polls they are now making attempts to lure the electorate by offering some gifts, remarked Lokesh in a press note released here after a truck carrying this material.

The local officials have seized a dump consisting of 52 varieties of material including wrist watches, speakers and cookers from a godown in Renigunta which belongs to Chandragiri MLA, Chevireddy Bhasker Reddy, that is to be distributed to the voters across the State, Mr Lokesh said.

No doubt, this dump of the YSRCP has been seized after a complaint has been lodged by the TDP, Lokesh said and asked who will seize the dump of the huge amount of money minted by Jagan by looting the natural resources like the sand, land and liquor, which is ready for distribution in these elections.

“Jagan should realise the fact that he will not win the elections even if he distributes one kg gold for every house as it is not possible for him to face the people who are very angry at him,” Lokesh remarked.

There is no peace in Andhra Pradesh, says Lokesh

0

TDP general secretary Nara Lokesh on Tuesday said that there was no peace in Andhra Pradesh during chief minister Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy’s regime. He said that people have lost peace and were all living under the grip of fear.

He said that the ruling YSR Congress leaders and activists have become terrorists. He alleged that the YSR Congress activists and leaders were resorting to violence and terrorising the people. He cited the example of an attack on temple priests in Kakinada.

Lokesh said that the attack exposed the violent nature of the ruling party. He alleged that the ruling party leaders were attacking people, threatening them and even causing physical assault. He wanted people to get rid of the YSR Congress from the state. He made an appeal to the people to defeat the YSR Congress in the coming general election.

Lokesh also blamed the ruling party leaders for grabbing lands and properties of the people across the state. He said that they have looted Visakhapatnam and were now spreading to other parts of the state. He wanted the people to keep a check on these anti-social elements.

He alleged that Jagan Mohan Reddy was encouraging such attacks across the state. The ruling party leaders have no check as the police remain mute spectators. He wanted the state to be free from such anti-social elements. The TDP and the NDA government in the state would put an end to these anti-social activities after the elections.

He questioned the ruling party leadership for the attack on temple priests. He said that the priests are known for their silent work and wondered what they had done to the ruling party leaders to attack them.

Lokesh wanted the state police to take action against the persons responsible for the attack on the priests. He wanted the police to stop working as the agents of the ruling party. He said that the peoples’ government is going to come in just two months. He wanted the police to correct themselves at least now.

Lokesh promises to develop Mangalagiri as number one segment in India

0

TDP general secretary, Nara Lokesh, on Friday promised to develop Mangalagiri Assembly segment in the country.

Chairing the ‘Breakfast with Lokesh’ programme at the Balaji Fortune Towers in Mangalagiri town, Lokesh said that while TDP supremo, Chandrababu Naidu, as the chief minister of the State, has developed Amaravathi with the sole aim of One State-One Capital, the then local MLA, Alla Ramakrishna Reddy, has filed several cases and blocked the progress of this area. Maintaining that decentralisation of development was given highest priority during the TDP regime, he regretted that after the YSRCP came to power it totally destroyed Amaravathi.

Squarely blaming Alla Ramakrishna Reddy for the works coming to a grinding halt in Amaravathi capital region, Lokesh expressed concern that the situation is so pathetic now that the youth from the State are migrating to neighbouring States like Tamil Nadu, Karnataka and Telangana in search of employment. Lokesh promised to bring the past glory to Amaravathi once the people’s government is in place and job opportunities will be created on a large scale by setting up industries here.

Pointing out that he lost the election from Mangalagiri in 2019mwith a mere 5,350 votes, he said that he has been staying here since that time as he is keen on winning the seat this time at any cost. “Despite being in Opposition I have developed this area by implementing 29 welfare programmes,” he told the locals at the programme. Stating that two Information Technology companies were invited by him to Mangalagiri even when he is in Opposition, he said employment is generated for 150 persons in these two units.

Making an appeal to the voters of Mangalagiri to elect him and the Guntur Lok Sabha candidate, Pemmasani Chandrasekhar this time with a huge majority, Lokesh promised them to develop the area and fulfill all the promises made to them, including supplying safe drinking water to every doorstep.

Pemmasani Chandrasekhar said that the transfer of power this time will decide the future of five crore people of the State. “There is every need to see Chandarbabu Naidu again as the chief minister of the State for the future of the youth and to save Amaravathi. Now Hyderabad is progressing fast because of the foundation laid by Chandrababu Naidu,” he added.

Mangalagiri Jana Sena coordinator, Chillapalli Srinivasa Rao, said the future of one generation got totally damaged because of the atrocious rule of the YSRCP. To save the State from these forces who are out to damage the State, Lokesh and Pemmasani should be elected with massive majority, he added.

State had gone five years back in YSR Congress rule, says Murali Mohan

0

Film actor and former MP, M Murali Mohan, on Thursday said that Andhra Pradesh had gone five years back during the YSR Congress rule. He said that the ruling party had completely ignored and neglected the development of the state.

Addressing a media conference in Hyderabad, Murali Mohan said that corruption had gone to the highest level during this government. Every leader and every official were indulging in corruption, he said. He also alleged that the government was encouraging corruption at every level.

He said that the youth would lose employment opportunities if the YSR Congress is voted to power once again. He said that people would have to leave the state in search of livelihood. He wanted the people to think twice before casting their vote.

He emphasised the need to support Chandrababu Naidu for his vision and commitment to develop the state. He said that Amaravati would have been a beautiful city by now had the people of Andhra Pradesh voted for TDP in the 2019 general election.

Pawan confident of NDA forming govt in AP

Jana Sena chief, Pawn Kalyan, on Sunday expressed confidence that it is the National Democratic Alliance (NDA), of which the TDP and the Jana Sena are partners, that is going to form the coming government.

Addressing the Praja Galam (people’s voice) public meeting at Boppudi near Chilakaluripet of which Prime Minister, Narendra Modi, is the chief guest along with TDP president, Chandrababu Naidu, the Jana Sena chief said that the arrival of Modi’s visit to the State is a big relief for the State which is now crumbling with deep debts and without any development. Pawan Kalyan told the massive public meeting where a record number of people from all parts of the State gathered that all the five crore people of the State are feeling happy at the three parties, the TDP, the BJP and the Jana Sena, coming together.

Recalling the alliance in 2014 formed at the world famous pilgrim town of Tirupati, Pawan Kalyan said that the alliance was announced then with the blessings of Lord Balaji and now again in 2024 the three parties have come together with the blessings of Goddess Kanakadurga. “My hearty welcome to Modi who is going to create a record by achieving a hatrick and his arrival here has reposed faith among the people of the State that Amaravathi is going to shine again,” he stated.

Teriming Chief Minister, Jagan Mohan Reddy, as a liquor baron, Pawan Kalyan said that Jagan has failed to clear Rs 10,000 cr GST and through JP Ventures, a binami of Jagan, he minted Rs 40,000 cr. Though the State has recorded business transactions of Rs 1.20 lakh cr, the Chief Minister has projected it as a mere Rs 84 cr thus minting such a huge amount of money, he said. “Jagan’s main goal is making money but not to develop the State,” he said.

Regretting that no industry has been set up after Jagan came to power, Pawan Kalyan said that on the other hand those which are existing earlier are running away from here unable to bear the harassment. The percentage of industrial growth in the State in 2014 was 10.4 per cent which is now -3 (minus three) per cent. The State is recording negative growth in this, he said.

Observing that Jagan feels that he can do anything with the huge money that he has, the Jana Sena chief said that Modi, however, is going to establish Rama Rajya here. The Kurukshetra battle has begun, Pawan Kalyan said and called upon the people to support the NDA as ultimately the victory will be that of morality and virtue.

Great injustice for BCs in YSRCP candidates list, says Deepak Reddy

0

The YSRCP, while declaring the list of candidates for the Assembly elections, has done great injustice for the downtrodden sections of society thus stifling their voice, said senior TDP leader and former MLC, G Deepak Reddy, here on Saturday.

Talking to media persons after the YSRCP announced the list of candidates for the Assembly and the Lok Sabha elections, Deepak Reddy said the YSRCP has again promoted the leaders of one particular community to which Chief Minister, Jagan Mohan Reddy, belongs to. The time has come to end the dictatorial rule and the feudal system which is out to loot the State, he said.

While the people are ready to chase out Jagan not only from the Tadepalle palace but also from the State, Jagan, however, is making preparations to run away from the country, the former MLC remarked. The Chief Minister, who always claims to own the BCs, SCs and STs, has done great injustice to these sections and of the 175 Assembly segments for which the candidates are announced, in 81 seats the candidates are replaced, he added.

Of these 81 segments, Reddys were replaced only in nine segments while the downtrodden sections were replaced in 90 per cent of the seats, he said. Stating that BCs comprise 52 per cent of the population, the TDP leader said that as per this ratio they should get 91 Assembly seats but are allotted only 41 segments.

Jagan has closed-door discussion on his fate with former Telangana chief minister, K Chandrasekhar Rao (KCR), and KCR is understood to have alerted Jagan that he too is going to meet with similar fate, Deepak Reddy said. Probably, this must be the reason as to why Jagan is getting ready to run away from the country and thus appears to have bought an island near London, he said in a sarcastic way.

TDP spokesman, Anam Venkata Ramana Reddy, said that the IAS and IPS officers, who are dancing to the tune of Jagan, have started feeling insecure with the announcement of poll schedule. “Forget about going on Central deputation as it is the same government that is going to be formed at the Centre too in which the TDP is a partner. Mend your ways and act as per law or you will have to face serious consequences,” Venkat Ramana Reddy said.

Asking as to why Kollu Raghuram Reddy has been posted in the Revenue Intelligence, he said that this official is harassing everyone under the guise of his position, he said and said that the Director General (Mining), Venkat Reddy, will have to face serious consequences if illegal mining is not stopped forthwith. Ramana Reddy also asked Executive Officer of the TTD, Dharma Reddy, to immediately stop selling darshan tickets in the blackmarket. He also warned several officers who belong to Reddy community to put an end to their present illegal activities or they will have to face the music once the TDP-JanaSena-BJP combine forms the coming government.

Ramana Reddy strongly believed that the Nagari voters are ready to defeat the Minister, R K Roja, and commented that the TDP candidate of Nagari is lucky enough as she is fielded again from the seat. “I am confident that the TDP candidate is going to win the seat with a minimum majority of 50,000 votes,” Venkata Ramana Reddy remarked.

Maduragada, son join YSR Congress

0

Veteran Kapu leader and former minister Mudragada Padmanabham joined the ruling YSR Congress on Friday. He along with his son Giri reached the chief minister’s camp office in Tadepalli on the day and joined the party.

Mudragada also tried to join the Jana Sena initially. He seems to have held talks with Jana Sena leaders who promised that Pawan Kalyan would visit his house in Kirlampudi and give Jana Sena membership to Mudragada. However, this did not happen and Mudragada wrote a letter to Pawan Kalyan stating that he would not join the Jana Sena.

Earlier, Mudragada gave a call to his supporters to come along with him to Tadepalli to join the YSR Congress. However, he changed his plans for security reasons and went to Tadepalli on his own along with his son.

Mudragada had been fighting for the cause of the Kapus for over several years. He led several movements during the TDP regime between 2014 and 2019. He held a massive public meeting in Tuni where the angry mob set the government vehicles and a train on fire.

The TDP regime booked several cases on Mudragada and his supporters for the violence. However, the YSR Congress government withdrew all the cases and freed the Kapu leader from the cases.

The Kapu leader has strong influence in the community in the two Godavari districts. He has strong followers in the two districts, whose number might change the electoral equations.

Congress meeting deferred to March 16

0

The AP Congress had postponed its public meeting in Visakhapatnam to March 16. The meeting was initially planned for March 15.

Congress top leaders including AICC president Mallikharjuna Kharge, Telangana chief minister A Revanth Reddy, are scheduled to address the public meeting. A number of Congress senior leaders from the state were also scheduled to address the public meeting.

However, the party, for reasons best known to the leadership, had postponed the meeting to March 16. As usual, the party senior leaders will attend the meeting.

The public meeting is scheduled to pass a couple of resolutions at the end. The resolutions included one against the privatization of Visakhapatnam Steel Plant and the other on the grant of a railway zone for Visakhapatnam.

The Congress is making its moves fast in Andhra Pradesh ever since Y S Sharmila took over the reins. Sharmila had toured the entire state in the last couple of months. She had also addressed street corner meetings during her whirlwind tour.

She is targeting the ruling YSR Congress for its failure to get the special category status to the state. She is also targeting the ruling party for its failures on different fronts. She had been criticizing chief minister Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy on debts, development and welfare of the people.

She had also started receiving applications from the aspirants to contest the Assembly and Parliament elections. She had almost completed receiving the applications. She is expected to send the same to the steering committee that would finalize the candidates for the elections.

Jagan releases Rs.629 Cr for EBC Nestham

0

Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy released Rs.629.37crore towards the third tranche of YSR EBC Nestham benefiting 4, 19, 583 women with Rs.15, 000 each.

The amount would be directly credited into the bank accounts of women aged between 45 to 60 years belonging to poor Kshatriya, Arya Vaisya, Brahmana, Reddy, Kamma, Velama and other OC communities.

Addressing a public meeting before releasing the amount with the click of a button at Banaganapalli on Thursday, the Chief Minister said that the Government has been implementing the scheme though it was not mentioned in the YSRCP manifesto as poverty has no caste.

Castigating the TDP, Jana Sena and BJP electoral alliance, the Chief Minister said that the three parties have again come together to cheat people as they did during the 2014 polls.

Listing out the poll promises defaulted by the TDP after forging alliance and sharing election campaign platforms with Jana Sena and BJP in 2014, and circulating signed manifesto copies door to door, he said the tripartite alliance cheated people by not implementing the promises made on loan waiver of farmers and self help groups, dissolution of belt shops, job for every house and unemployment allowance.

Instead of forming women protection force as promised, the TDP Government allowed call money sex racket in Vijayawada and also defaulted on Maha Lakshmi, Pandanti Bidda, Kuteera Lakshmi schemes and failed to provide Rs.100 subsidy on each LPG cylinder, smart cell phones to poor women and cycles for Class X girls from poor families.

While TDP president Chandrababu Naidu has no credibility, his alliance partner and foster son Pawan Kalyan has no values, he said, adding that they have joined hands with BJP to take people for a ride.

The political cheats and jugglers, along with the support of their friendly and rotten media have declared a war against the poor, he said, adding that the welfare schemes will continue only YSRCP retains power and Jagan continues as Chief Minister.

Asking the people to see the difference between TDP and YSRCP Governments, he said while TDP has thrown its elections manifesto into the dust bin, YSRCP Government transparently implemented welfare programmes and disbursed Rs. 2.70 lakh crore through DBT welfare programmes fulfilling 99 per cent of its election promises. He said a lion’s share of this went to women only.

He said a whopping Rs 1, 89,000 crore were deposited into the bank accounts of women in the last 58 months and said the Government spent Rs.1877crore on EBC Nestham alone.

Government implemented YSR Cheyutha, Aasara, Amma Vodi, Kapu Nestham, EBC Nestham and several other programmes aiming at economic empowerment of women and so far 42.74 lakh women have benefitted from these schemes, he said.

It is only after YSRCP came to power that election manifestos started getting credibility, he said, adding that a vote for the TDP-led alliance will only result in the rebirth of Janma Bhoomi committees and corruption.

Speaking about the reforms implemented by the Government, social pensions are being door-delivered with the active and committed support of the village and ward secretariats and volunteers, he said, asking the people to see the qualitative and quantitative difference between TDP and YSRCP rules.

“If you feel that you have benefitted from the Government, you become my star campaigner and army and bring victory to YSRCP in the elections by teaching a fitting lesson to the opportunistic alliances,” he urged them.

The Chief Minister sanctioned Rs. 100core for an irrigation project as sought by the local MLA and YSRCP candidate Rami Reddy and called upon people to bless him in the elections.

TDP to release second list on March 14?

0

The opposition TDP is planning to release its second list of candidates for the coming general election on March 14. The party had already released the first list a couple of days ago with 94 names.

The TDP is contesting 144 Assembly seats in alliance with the Jana Sena and the BJP. While the Jana Sena is contesting 21 Assembly seats, the BJP will be contesting 10 Assembly seats. The BJP will be contesting six Parliament seats leaving two for the Jana Sena. The TDP, the big brother in the alliance, will be contesting 17 Parliament seats.

The TDP has to release 50 new names for the Assembly segments. It is also likely that the Jana Sena and the BJP are to release their names on the same day. The Jana Sena had already announced the party tickets to a couple of leaders who have joined the party in the last three days.

The Jana Sena had announced tickets to Pulaparthy Ramanajaneyulu alias Anji Babu for Bhimavaram, Kothapally Subbarayudu for Narasapuram and Ganta Narahari for Tirupati. These leaders joined the Jana Sena earlier this week.

The BJP national leadership is holding talks with the party state leaders on giving tickets. The BJP gained 10 Assembly and six Parliament seats. The party is to name the candidates for these seats and the leaders are busy holding consultations with the state leadership.

Meanwhile, Chandrababu Naidu is busy picking up candidates for the 50 Assembly seats to be declared. Leaving the 21 seats given to the Jana Sena and 10 seats to the BJP, the TDP chief has to name the 50 candidates from the TDP.

He had assured rehabilitation of those TDP leaders who would be losing their seats to the Jana Sena and the BJP in alliance. He wanted the TDP leaders to be prepared to sacrifice their seats in the larger interests of the state. He said that the party would recognise their sacrifice and do justice to them once the party forms the government in the state after the elections.

Jagan inaugurates Krishna River retaining wall

0

Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy inaugurated the 2.26 km long retaining wall constructed alongside Krishna River at Kanaka Durgamma Varadhi here on Tuesday.

The wall on the two sides of the Varadhi was constructed with a cost of Rs, 500crore for protecting 80,000 Krishna Lanka residents from flood threat.

Addressing a public meeting on the occasion, the Chief Minister said that the previous Government never thought of constructing the protection wall to safeguard the lives of the flood-prone residents.

We all know that local residents suffered a lot during flood times but their problem was not taken seriously by the previous Government, he remarked.

During the last five years only, the Government initiated measures to construct the wall for protecting the people from floods, he said, adding that a park was established and beautification works were also undertaken for the benefit of the locals.

The Chief Minister also launched the Rs. 12.4crore river front park’s first phase that contains an entry plaza, walking track, open zym and children’s play area, besides launching the works of sewage treatment plants worth Rs. 239 crore that would benefit five areas in the city.

He also distributed regularized house site pattas to the poor and said the Government has regularized 31,866 house site pattas in Vijayawada and the beneficiaries from 16 colonies of Vijayawada East, Central and West constituencies would get full ownership rights on the allotted house sites.

He named the park Krishnamma Jala Vihar, picking it up from a list of names submitted by the officials.

The Chief Minister said that the Government has initiated several development initiatives in Vijayawada city and the statue of Dr BR Ambedkar was also established with an expenditure of Rs.400 crore.

Besides completing the works of the fly-over to Vijayawada International Airport, two additional fly over bridges also came up on the road, in addition to the Kanaka Durgamma fly over.

He said the Outer Ring Road work is also in full swing and it would be ready for inauguration in the next few months.

All these development works apart, the Government has been striving hard to improve the lives of people through introduction of village and ward secretariats and the volunteer system but the opposition is unable to see it all, the Chief Minister observed.
