Venky not keen to sign new projects

Victory Venkatesh completed the shoots of Naarappa and Drishyam 2 at record speed. But due to the coronavirus pandemic, Naarappa headed for a digital release and Drishyam 2 too will follow the same path. Venky signed F3 and the film is half done with the shoot. The shoot resumes soon and the film will head for a theatrical release soon. Venky was approached by several filmmakers but the veteran actor is not in a mood to sign new projects for now. He wants to focus completely on F3 and will sign new projects only after the release of F3.

Venky has been keen to take up the remake of Vikram Vedha from the past few years but the project was kept on hold. He decided not to take any remakes soon. He was holding talks with Tharun Bhasker for a film but Venky is not convinced with the script. He will start Tharun Bhascker’s film after the final script gets locked. For now, Venky will not sign any new projects. Directed by Anil Ravipudi, F3 features Venkatesh, Varun Tej, Tamannaah and Mehreen in the lead roles. Dil Raju is the producer and F3 releases next year.

Narappa is watched in 180 countries of the globe

Victory Venkatesh’s recent offering Narappa headed for a digital release and it is streaming on Amazon Prime. The film received a positive response from the audience and a success meet was held last night. Speaking on the occasion, the film’s producer Suresh Babu thanked and congratulated the entire unit of Narappa for their efforts and hard work. He landed into controversy for selling off the film for Amazon and skipping the theatrical release in these situations. Suresh Babu responded by that saying “We have to move. We had our reasons to take the decision for the same” told Suresh.

“Narappa is registered in 4100 towns out of the 4400 towns of India as per the reports from Amazon. Out of the 240 countries in which Amazon is available, Narappa was registered for viewing in 180 countries of the globe. We got a wide reach through the digital release and Amazon is extremely happy. For the kind of appreciation the film received, I am extremely happy. I spent time reading the reviews. Please enjoy the film” told Suresh Babu.

Venky hints of a digital release for Drishyam 2

Victory Venkatesh tested his luck with Narappa and the film had to skip the theatrical release because of the pandemic situations. The film received rave reviews and the makers arranged a success meet last evening. The entire movie unit attended the event and during his speech, Venky thanked his fans for being patient and understanding the situation. He also thanked everyone for the response. He hinted that his next film Drishyam 2 too will head for a digital release. Venky said that he would test his luck in theatres with F3.

The makers already closed the digital deal of Drishyam 2 with Disney Plus Hostar. An official release date of the film will be announced soon. Drishyam 2 is a crime thriller that is directed by Jeethu Joseph. Suresh Productions and Aashirvaad Cinemas are the producers. Venky is heading for a long holiday to Europe and he will resume the shoot of F3 in October. The comic entertainer may hit the screens in summer next year.

He apologized to his fans for releasing Narappa on OTT. “I know that Narappa release news is disappointing for my fans, but I hope that they understand the current pandemic situations, apologies,” told Venkatesh.

There are strong rumors every year that Venky will work with top director Trivikram Srinivas for a film but it never happened. From the past few weeks, there are speculations that Trivikram will direct the 75th film of Venkatesh. Responding to this, Venky said “Nothing is in my hands. The script plays a crucial rule for any combination. It arrives with time” told Venky. He also said that he is thoroughly enjoying the shoot of F3 and the film releases next year.

Official: Naarappa Streaming Date Announced

After the second wave of coronavirus, there are debates going on about the theatrical release or a direct digital release. Veteran producer Suresh Babu closed several deals of all his upcoming movies. The first one to have a direct digital release is Naarappa. Amazon Prime acquired the rights of the film for a huge price and the makers are left in handsome profits. It is now official and Naarappa will be available on Amazon Prime from July 20th. Venkatesh and Priyamani played the lead roles in this rustic village drama that is directed by Sreekanth Addala.

The film is carrying decent expectations and Naarappa is produced jointly by Suresh Productions and V Creations. Manisharma composed the music and background score. Venkatesh also completed the shoot of Drishyam 2 and the film too will head for a digital release soon. The makers are keen to release the film during the Independence Day weekend. Venkatesh is currently shooting for F3.

Venky’s U Turn for Naarappa

The second wave of coronavirus kept the theatres shut and the exhibitors are urging the filmmakers not to take OTT paths. The exhibitors requested the Tollywood celebrities to save the exhibition industry during these tough times. Two films of Venkatesh: Naarappa and Drishyam 2 are heading for direct digital release and the deals are closed recently. After considering the requests of the exhibitors, Venkatesh took a U Turn and asked Suresh Babu to release Naarappa in theatres.

The film’s co-producer S Thanu is not happy with the theatrical release. He wants to play a safe game in this tough time. The film’s deals are closed at Rs 30 crores. But Venkatesh is ready to cut down his remuneration or bear the losses if Naarappa fails to fare well during this pandemic season. Suresh Babu is renegotiating with Amazon Prime so that Naarappa can have a theatrical release. The discussions are going on for now and the final call would be taken very soon.

F3 team resumes its shoot.

F3, Fun and Frustration is one of the most awaited film currently. The film has resumed it’s shooting in Hyderabad after a long Covid enforced break.

The film stars Venkatesh, Tamannaah, Varun Tej and Mehreen Pirzada in lead roles and has resumed its shooting from first of July by taking all the necessary precautions. The entire ensemble cast and crew members have joined the shoot.

Since the film production was affected due to the Covid-19, director Anil Ravipudi has planned to shoot some major scenes of the film this month. Bankrolled by Dil Raju amd Shirish under Sri Venkateswara Creations banner, F3 is a DSP Musical and Sai Sriram is handling the camera.

Instead of holding the film’s release for a longer time, the duo decided to release Drishyam 2 soon through a digital platform. The deals are considered currently and Suresh Babu will close the deal in a week. Amazon Prime is the front runner and the film will have a digital release in June. Jeethu Joseph directed Drishyam 2 and Venkatesh, Meena played the lead roles. Suresh Productions and Aashirvaad Cinemas produced this remake.

Venkatesh-starrer ‘Narappa’ release postponed

Actor Venkatesh shared an Instagram post on Thursday to inform fans that his upcoming Telugu film “Narappa” has been postponed owing to the Covid pandemic. The film was earlier scheduled to release on May 14.

“‘Narappa’ is a film that we have made with a lot of dedication and hard work and your love towards the film has been overwhelming. However ,we are all going through a turbulent time during this unprecedented global pandemic and hence, keeping in mind the health and safety of our beloved audience,the theatrical release of the film has been postponed,” Venkatesh wrote on Instagram.

“We will bring Narappa to you just when the time is right… Until then, be safe take care of yourself and stay strong. We will all get through this together. Please mask up, STAY HOME AND STAY SAFE #NarappaPostponed,” he added.

“Narappa” is the Telugu remake of Dhanush ‘s National Award-winning Tamil hit, “Asuran”.

Venky to take up Rana Daggubati’s Date

Hours after the release date of Venkatesh’ Naarappa was announced for May 14th release, Megastar Chiranjeevi’s upcoming film Acharya is announced for May 13th release. To avoid clash, the makers of Naarappa are keen to lock a comfortable release date. May 7th would not be a nice date for them as Acharya is just 6 days away from release. Hence, Naarappa is targeting to release on April 30th. The date was locked for Rana Daggubati’s Viraata Parvam.

Viraata Parvam will be moved to a later date as per the update. An official announcement about the same would be made soon. Naarappa is directed by Srikanth Addala and is the remake of Tamil blockbuster film Asuran. V Creations and Suresh Productions jointly produced Naarappa. Venky is currently shooting for F3 and he will soon join the sets of Drishyam 2. Rana Daggubati has two films Aranya and Viraata Parvam lined up for summer release.

Victory Venkatesh gave his nod to play the lead role in Drishyam 2 and the project starts from March. Jeethu Joseph who directed the original will direct the movie and the pre-production work is happening at a fast pace. As per the update, Venky watched the film in a special screening even before the film’s release. Venkatesh and Suresh Babu had a long discussion about the project and they finally decided to take up the remake. Venkatesh is said to have suggested some changes for the Telugu version.

Jeethu Joseph took up the suggestions of Venky and made all these changes for the script. The dialogue version of Drishyam 2 is getting ready currently. The entire shoot of the film will be completed in 50 days. Aashirvad Cinemas in association with Suresh Productions will produce Drishyam 2 and the film will head for a theatrical release this year.

Venky considering a Korean Remake?

Victory Venkatesh is in plans to release two films this year. His upcoming movie Naarappa is in the final stages of shoot and it will hit the screens in April this year. Venkatesh recently commenced the shoot of F3 that is gearing up for release during the second half of this year. Anil Ravipudi is the director and Varun Tej is the other lead actor in F3.

As per the update coming, Venkatesh is considering one more remake. Suresh Productions recently announced that they acquired the remake rights of Korean movie Lucky Key. The top production house also announced that the film will be remade with a popular actor and director. Venkatesh is keen to take up the remake and things will be finalized once the director would be locked and the script will get ready. Suresh Productions along with Guru Films will produce this Korean remake and the film starts rolling this year.

Venky prepones F3

The veteran actors are quite hesitant to join the sets of their upcoming projects because of the ongoing coronavirus pandemic. King Nagarjuna is the first actor from veterans to join the shoot and he is working for Wild Dog. Victory Venkatesh who was quite concerned decided to return back to the sets of his next film Naarappa. The actor will join the sets of Naarappa from October and he will complete the portions of the film by the end of October. He is all set to join the sets of F3 from November.

Anil Ravipudi already got his nod from Venkatesh, Varun Tej and the final draft of the script is ready. The regular shoot commences in November and the episodes on Venkatesh will be shot. Varun Tej will join the sets of the film at a later date as he should complete his part for the boxing drama. Tamannaah and Mehreen are the leading ladies in F3. The film will be shot in back to back schedules and will release in May 2021. Dil Raju will produce F3 on Sri Venkateswara Creations banner. Devi Sri Prasad is on board as the music composer.

Victory Venkatesh’s Vasantham which released on 11th July 2003 has completed 17 years by today. The film released alongside Blockbuster Simhadri managed to collect 16.50cr share worldwide at that time and emerged a Super Hit. It was the second-highest earner for the hero at the time of release behind Nuvvu Naaku Nachav which collected 18cr share. The film ran for 50 days in 133 centers & 100 days in 53 centers.

Drushyam which released on 11th July 2014 has completed 6 years by today. Just like other remakes of Drishyam, this also was a slow starter at the box-office but did very good business in the long run. The film started with a share of 1.9cr share on its opening day worldwide and closed its run with a share of 20cr share and emerging Super Hit. The film fared very well in the USA grossing $420,000.

Venkatesh in talks for a web series?

Veteran producer Suresh Babu already revealed that his production house Suresh Productions is holding talks with OTT giants to produce several web-based projects. The latest speculation making rounds is that Victory Venkatesh will play the lead role in one of them. It is unclear about the director but the news says that Teja may direct the project. Amazon Prime is holding talks to produce the web series along with Suresh Productions.

Several Bollywood actors are doing web series along with movies. Tollywood actors are yet to sign web series and if the speculations turn true, Venky will be the first Tollywood actor to feature in a web series among the remarkable Telugu actors. Venkatesh as of now is busy with Naarappa which is in the final stages of shoot. The film releases this year and Venky joins the sets of F3 post Naarappa.

Venky plays a safe game with Naarappa

Top producer Suresh Babu acquired the remake rights of Tamil blockbuster film Asuran. Victory Venkatesh is playing the lead role in the film which is titled Naarappa. Srikanth Addala is on board as the director of the film and the shoot of Naarappa is happening in Anantapur district. Suresh Babu screened the Tamil version for several celebrities and Tollywood directors. Though he received different opinions, Suresh Babu decided to go with the original theme that had strong emotions.

Srikanth Addala has been asked to be loyal to the original (Asuran) without changing a single scene. Suresh Babu also decided to wrap up the film’s shoot in a strict budget of Rs 10-12 crores excluding Venky’s remuneration. Srikanth Addala will be sharing the profits and will not take any remuneration home before the film’s release. Naarappa is a safe bet for Venky and Suresh Babu considering the budget and the script. Suresh Babu will have to share the profits for V Creations who produced Asuran. Naarappa is slated for May release this year.

Now this Daggubati hero is going to star in the Telugu remake of Tamil film ‘Asuran.’ The original film had Dhanush and Manju Warrier in the lead roles and was written and directed by Ventrimaan.

Released during Dussehra festival, ‘Asuran’ is running successfully at Tamil Nadu box office.

The Telugu version of ‘Asuran’ will be jointly bankrolled by Suresh Productions and V Creations banners.

His recent flick F2 which released earlier this year was a massive hit. He teamed up with younger actor Varun Tej and tickled the funny bone. Now the hero is teaming up with his nephew Naga Chaitanya for a fun film Venky Mama directed by Bobby.

On the eve of Bobby’s birthday, the makers released a pre teaser which showed Venky and Naga Chaitanya in a single frame. Though Venky appeared for brief in Chaitu’s earlier film Premam, the appearance was limited. This on the other hand looks quite promising and the vibes are extremely positive for sure!

Venky has surely understood the knack of multi-starrers and extracting the full potential out of it.
