Exclusive: DVV Danayya backs out from Vijay’s Film

After the super success of RRR, DVV Danayya is busy with multiple films. He is working with Pawan Kalyan and has two films with Nani. Danayya paid a big advance for Tamil actor Vijay and there are reports that the actor is committed to Danayya for his last film before making his political debut. H Vinoth will direct the project and Vijay is said to have demanded Rs 250 crores as remuneration for the film. Left in shock, Danayya backed out from the project. Vijay also repaid his advance recently and the talks are going on.

Several top producers approached Vijay and the producer of the project will be finalized soon. There are also speculations, Vijay himself will produce his last film. The pre-production work of the film is happening currently and the shoot starts later this year. The film is aimed for 2025 summer release and Vijay will focus on politics. He will prepare for the Assembly polls in Tamil Nadu that are scheduled for 2026. Vijay’s next outing GOAT is announced for September 5th release.

Natural Star Nani has signed a film with RRR producer DVV Danayya and the film is titled Sariodhaa Sanivaaram. Vivek Athreya is directing this action entertainer and the shooting formalities reached the final stages. Priyanka Arul Mohan is the leadlng lady and the film is aimed for August release. Nani also signed one more film for DVV Danayya and the film will be directed by Saaho fame Sujeeth. The film too is an actioner and the shoot commences later this year. Nani signed the film leaving many projects ahead after DVV Danayya offered a huge remuneration.

As per the update, Nani has quoted Rs 50 crores for both the films and DVV Danayya said yes. The film materialized immediately. The shoot will start this year. Nani will soon work with directors like Balagam Venu and Dasara fame Srikanth Odela.

Vijay’s staggering remuneration for his last film

Vijay surprised his fans with his political announcement and his 69th film would be his last one for now. He is currently shooting for his 68th film titled GOAT directed by Venkat Prabhu and the shoot is happening in Russia. The film releases this year. He is committed to RRR producer DVV Danayya for his 69th film and there are rumors that H Vinoth will direct the project. An official announcement will be made soon. As per the ongoing speculation from the Tamil media, Vijay is quoting Rs 250 crores as remuneration for the film which is said to be a political drama.

AGS Entertainment is expected to join the film as co-producer as per the speculation. H Vinoth has narrated the plot and the scriptwork is going on. Vijay announced his political party Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam and he is working on the aim to contest in the 2026 Assembly polls in Tamil Nadu. The actor will take up full time politics from summer 2025 and he will campaign across the state for a year. His party is expected to contest in all the constituencies of Tamil Nadu in the 2026 polls.

RRR Producer responds about huge spending for Oscars

There is an ongoing debate that SS Rajamouli has spent close to Rs 80 crores for the Oscar campaign for his recent release RRR. The reports told that Rajamouli spent a huge amount from his pocket and the producer DVV Danayya has nothing to do with it. Danayya was also never spotted on the Oscar stage or the celebrations after Naatu Naatu song bagged an Oscar. For the first time, Danayya responded after the Oscar campaign came to an end.

“I also heard about the money spent for the Oscar campaign. I haven’t spent any money for the campaign and I am not aware of what happened exactly. But no one spends Rs 80 crores for an award event. There would be no profits involved in it” told Danayya. He also revealed that it is his long wish to produce a film with Pawan Kalyan and he said that the shoot starts soon. Sujeeth is the director and Pawan Kalyan will commence the shoot of this film soon. The film would be a stylish action entertainer.

Rebelstar Prabhas and director Maruthi are all set to team up soon. RRR producer DVV Danayya paid hefty advances for them long ago and has been in talks for a film. Danayya walked out of the project recently and the film landed in the hands of People Media Factory. Prabhas is said to have been quoting Rs 150 crores for the film and he is keen to complete the shoot in three back-to-back schedules. As Maruthi is an expert in completing a film on a tight budget, everyone felt that this would be a profitable film for DVV Danayya. The film can be marketed and released in various Indian languages.

But DVV Danayya has different thoughts. Leaving the profits aside, Danayya is not much interested in the project as he is keen to produce a high-voltage action entertainer with Prabhas. But Maruthi’s film is packed with fun and has no action. Danayya soon informed Prabhas and Maruthi about the same. He is keen to produce lavish films on his banner after RRR. He has films lined up with Chiranjeevi, Ram Charan and others. He is also keen to sign Prabhas with a bigger director for a pan-Indian attempt in the future.

RRR Producer lines up 5 Mega Projects

Veteran producer DVV Danayya bankrolled SS Rajamouli’s next magnum opus RRR and the film featuring NTR, Ram Charan is hitting the screens on March 25th. Danayya is all set to bankroll some of the biggest projects of Tollywood in the next two years. He signed Megastar Chiranjeevi for a mass entertainer and the announcement came out recently. Venky Kudumula will direct the film and the project will have its official launch this month. Danayya also roped in Pawan Kalyan for the remake of Theri. Sujeeth will direct the movie and an official announcement will be made soon.

Danayya paid a hefty advance for Ram Charan long ago and the project will start after Charan will be done with his current projects. KGF sensation Prashanth Neel will direct this high voltage action entertainer. Danayya is also the producer of Prabhas’ next film that will be directed by Maruthi. The project will be announced soon and the shoot commences in May. Danayya also signed a new project that will feature Naga Chaitanya in the lead role. Tamil director Venkat Prabhu will direct the project.

Apart from these, Danayya also paid advances for Mahesh Babu, NTR, Allu Arjun and Dhanush. These projects will happen at a later date. For now, Danayya is lined up with 5 prestigious projects.

While Venky Kudumula had earlier given us blockbusters like Chalo and Bheeshma, DVV Danayya is one of the leading producers and his upcoming project is RRR directed by S S Rajamouli.

Interestingly, Venky Kudumula had always maintained that he is a huge fan of Chiranjeevi. He is now said to be on cloud nine about directing him.

The lead actors of RRR: Ram Charan, Alia Bhatt and NTR along with director SS Rajamouli, producer DVV Danayya attended the Telugu media interaction in Hyderabad this morning. Here are the highlights of the press conference:

I shot the first shot of RRR on NTR and Ram Charan on a bike. Amazed with their bonding on the sets, I was sure that the friendship on screen will work out big time: SS Rajamouli.

NTR said that he did not dub for Malayalam. I was comfortable to dub in four languages for RRR.

RRR is releasing in Five languages and it is dubbed into other languages subsequently: Rajamouli.

I was worried because of the loss of lives due to the pandemic. Coming to the work front, we enjoyed the process of making of RRR: SS Rajamouli.

It was very difficult to portray Komaram Bheem on screen. Rajamouli helped me a lot in the process. He injected a lot about the role before the shoot. I went through a lot of physical transformation for the role: NTR.

I have a clarity on how the audience watches films in theatres. Stars can bring the audience to theatres but it is the script that drives the film. I wanted NTR and Charan as actors for the roles and their friendship is well presented: Rajamouli.

Rajamouli does a lot of homework before shoot. The process is very simple and if we can convince Rajamouli with our performance, we are 100 percent successful: Ram Charan.

Bollywood heroines ignoring South films is just a rumor. I got an opportunity for my lifetime with RRR. Thank you Rajamouli sir. I am eagerly waiting to work on more South Indian films soon. Both NTR and Ram Charan are caring and wonderful. Had a lovely time working with the team: Alia Bhatt.

Together NTR and Ram Charan are pulling each other’s legs, they are too good on the sets. They were not interested about my presence, they are just talking to each other: Alia Bhatt.

My role in RRR has three shades and their characterizations are unique. Rajamouli designed them in peaks: Ram Charan.

The government of AP slashed the ticket prices. It will not work for big films. We are in talks with the government of AP and hope the issues get sorted soon: DVV Danayya.

RRR is a fictional film and has nothing to do with history. We did not take anything from real-life incidents. RRR is just a fiction: SS Rajamouli.

It is not about the length of the roles of Ram and Bheem. It is about how well I empathized with them on screen. I understand that fans will come with expectations about how I balanced both the roles. They will feel quite happy after watching the film: Rajamouli.

RRR is not a patriotic film. It is a movie about friendship. There is a topic of patriotism in the underplay: Rajamouli.

The expressions of Ram Charan and NTR are priceless when I first told them that I am doing a film with them. They are amazed and delighted. I have narrated the plot after I met them: Rajamouli.

We are not friends because of RRR. We are friends outside for years: NTR.

Star producer DVV Danayya seems to be struck in a catch 22 situation. It is a known fact that Danayya is currently producing a film with Ram Charan and Boyapati Srinu. The film’s shooting is progressing at a snail’s pace and there is still some considerable portion left to be wrapped up.

As per the planned schedule, Ram Charan and NTR are supposed to commence shoot at a time for nearly three weeks. But, the delay in Charan – Boyapati film has put Danayya in a dilemma.

The first one is Ram Charan – Boyapati film that will hit the screens during Sankranthi 2019 and the second one is SS Rajamouli’s directorial which will start rolling from January 2019. It is well known that the producers of Mahesh Babu’s Bharat Ane Nenu and Allu Arjun’s Naa Peru Surya have officially confirmed that the films will release on April 27th.

Yesterday, we reported that producers of both these films met to discuss about the clash. Here is what actually transpired in the meeting.

It was Danayya who first called Bunny Vas and arranged the meeting to discuss about the issue. Danayya said he wasn’t aware of Naa Peru Surya release date while formally announcing the release date of Bharat Ane Nenu. He then requested Bunny Vas and team to make for Bharat Ane Nenu.

However, NPS team is adamant to change the release date as they locked it on the day the film was announced. Bunny Vas told his co-producers that they are not going to back out from the date at any cost. But, they didn’t directly inform Danayya about this and instead said that they will discuss it with Allu Aravind and take a call on the release date.

NPS team thinks there is no reason why they should alter the release date as Danayya deliberately announced their date assuming that everyone will be making way for Bharat Ane Nenu. Also Bunny Vasu reportedly told his close allies that if BAN postpones the date they have a exit reason. But they can’t move the date at any cost since the fans and media might project it as a pusillanimous move.

Going by the intentions of Bunny Vas and team, it looks like NPS is likely to release on April 27th. However, it remains to be seen if Bharat Ane Nenu alters its release date.

And, our sources divulged that he had asked Danayya and KL Narayana to join forces to produce this mega budget film. So, the visionary director has drawn up a perfect plan to fulfill his commitments with Mahesh, Danayya and Narayana with his next film, which is expected to start at the end of 2018.

Going by the value of ‘Brand Rajamouli’, and the budget needed to make his next film, it may anyway take 2-3 producers to pool funds.

If pumping in Rs 100+ Cr on Mahesh Babu’s ‘Bharat Ane Nenu (BAN)’ is not a risk enough, producer DVV Danayya is raising his stakes by not making hay while the Sun shines.

Fearing that ‘Bharat Ane Nenu’ might clash with PK25 for Sankranthi 2018 and eventually split revenues, buyers from all areas offered a few crores less than what Danayya had expected for distribution rights. Unsatisfied with the deals, which are inferior to the deals cracked by the producer of PK25, Danayya refrained from sealing the deals.

He is now awaiting the result of Mahesh’s new release SPYder. He is optimistic of getting better deals for BAN if SPYder succeeds at box office. It is undeniable that he will get amount upwards of Rs 20 Cr more than what he was offered earlier for the rights of BAN. Isn’t he looking at only the brighter side of the picture? What about the other side of the coin?

If SPYder doesn’t meet the expectations, Danayya may not even get the amounts he was offered earlier. Considering the 100+ Cr budget of BAN, this is indeed a huge risk taken by Danayya.

A report in BollywoodLife claimed that several Bollywood stars have tried to contact the filmmaker, most likely to discuss for a possible collaboration but Rajamouli has been ignoring all such calls and messages. ‘In order to evade the Bollywood stars, he got rid of the previous phone number and started using another number to stay in touch with his closed ones,’ added the report.

It is understandable that B-town heroes are hounding Rajamouli to bag his next project considering that the entire nation is waiting for it. With all eyes on the project, whoever bags it, is most likely to benefit from the hype around it. Bogged down by innumerable proposals, Rajamouli has literally gone underground and become unreachable to Bollywood stars ever since ‘Baahubali 2’ happened.

After facing a stiff competition for the remake rights of recent Tamil smash hit Thani Oruvan, Tollywood producer DVV Danayya has finally grabbed them for a mind blowing 5.5 Crores. As rumored earlier, he will produce the film with Ram Charan in the lead role.

Sources close to Danayya informed that the pre production work has kick started and they are busy finalizing the director. The sources hinted that Mohan Raja, who directed the Tamil version, will helm the Telugu version as well. More details will be revealed soon.
