Jana Sena chief Pawan Kalyan seems to have great ideological confusion, if one goes by his journey for the nine years.

This opinion gets consolidated if one goes by the name he had given to the venue of his party’s formation day meeting being held today. He named the venue after former chief minister Damodaram Sanjeevayya, indicating that he is pro-Dalit.

He walked into politics with the slogans of Che Guevara, a Cuban revolutionary, who inspired youth in the Cuban Revolution in the 1960s. It was believed that Pawan Kalyan would take the Left (Communist) side in politics.

Surprisingly, he moved into the Right (BJP) wing politics a few months after launching his party and reciting the slogans of Che Guevara. That move was a great shock to everyone who watched him Che Guevara slogans!

Four years later, he moved into the camp of the Left parties indicating that Che Guevara is alive in him or rather not dead. He then moved to the Ambedkar ideology by aligning with Mayawati of the BSP.

It did not take more time for him to walk out of this group and walk into the fold of the Right wing (BJP).

He is again invoking the name of Damodaram Sanjeevayya, the first Dalit chief minister of the united Andhra Pradesh. Does it mean he would run the pro-Dalit politics or would stay back in the saffron camp?

Whatever he does in the days to come, it is clear, so far, that Pawan Kalyan is a confused leader who doesn’t know what ideology he carries or what line he would take to win the voters!

Can we expect a clear ideological or political line from him in his speech at today’s meeting!?

The Jana Sena was formed on March 14, 2014, by actor Pawan Kalyan, after a long wait by his fans. He started the political party out of strong urge to be in politics and out of failure in Praja Rajyam Party experiment.

People, particularly his fans, expected that the Jana Sena would not be another Praja Rajyam Party. There was a huge crowd at the Hitech city in Hyderabad on March 14, 2014, when Pawan Kalyan launched the party in a filmy style.

Having launched the party ahead of 2014 general elections and in the midst of bifurcation of the state, Pawan Kalyan did not contest the elections. He backed the BJP initially and later supported the TDP in that election.

After the elections, he first broke the alliance with the BJP in 2018 on the Special Category Status demand. Later, in the same year, he broke the alliance with the TDP too.

In 2019, ahead of the general elections, he had aligned with the two Left parties here and went all the way to Lucknow in Uttar Pradesh, where he met BSP supremo Mayawati and aligned with the party.

It was said that with Che Guevara ideology in mind, Pawan Kalyan would continue to be with the Left parties and the BSP. But it too failed immediately after the 2019 general elections, where he was defeated in the two seats that he contested.

Again after the 2019 general elections, Pawan Kalyan renewed the alliance with the BJP. However, with the 2024 general elections he is said to be moving towards the TDP, though he did not make any statement yet.

Pawan Kalyan would be celebrating his party’s seventh formation day on Monday near Mangalagiri in Guntur district. It is not known where he would be after that and with whom he would go for the 2024 general elections.

In all, in the last seven years, he appeared directionless and without a clear ideology and known inconsistency. The next two years are going to be crucial for any political party in Andhra Pradesh, as elections are scheduled in 2024, it is to be seen curiously where would he land in the state politics.

Pawan Kalyan let down his fans once again with his statements on Janasena not contesting in Badvel by elections. Details as follows.

Janasena chief announced that they won’t contest in Badvel:

Venkata Subbayya, who won as MLA from YSRCP in 2019, recently passed away. YSRCP gave the ticket to his wife Sudha. TDP already announced that Rajasekhar, who lost in 2019, will be contesting again. Janasena chief Pawan Kalyan now announced that his party is not going to contest in Badvel as their party would respect the lady who lost her husband and contesting the elections now. He also asked YSRCP to make the election unanimous by consulting other political parties that want to contest.

How many more sacrifices Pawan ?

It is known news that Janasena sacrificed the seat to BJP in Tirupati by-election. Now when it is time to contest from Janasena , as part of alliance Dharma, Pawan sacrificed the seat once again in the name of political tradition. Irrespective of the result, a political party is expected to contest the election and gauge its performance. While the same Pawan cried foul about the “forced unanimous elections by YSRCP ” during local elections, he is now asking the same YSRCP to make this MLA by-election a unanimous one and this is seen as inconsistency from the side of Janasena chief. Even though Pawan can justify that, in Tirupati, YSRCP didn’t give the seat to family member of the deceased MP and that’s the reason for contesting then, still his fans could not hide their disappointment with the decision of their demigod.

Pawan is still not behaving like a politician:

Most of his fans opine that, there is a huge anti incumbency on the ruling government and the political parties should give an opportunity for the people to express their opinion. They also opine that, even though Pawan Kalyan said that their party is not contesting out of the respect to the lady who lost her husband, ruling YSRCP will use, in future, this decision of Pawan also to portray Janasena as the party that has no guts to contest. Moreover, Pawan recently commented that he did not behave like politician till now but he will behave like politician in future. But his latest decision doesn’t conform to his statement.

We need to wait and see whether Pawan will understand the emotions of his fans and keep contesting the elections irrespective of results or will he keep sacrificing the seats for one reason or other.
