Sensational director Puri Jagannadh and young sensation Vijay Devarakonda are teaming up for the first time for Liger, a pan-Indian attempt. The shoot of the film is yet to resume as the pending shoot has to be completed in foreign locales. Several foreign fighters too will have to participate in the upcoming schedules. As per the update, the shoot resumes in September and the makers are keen to release the film during the Diwali weekend.

Vijay Devarakonda plays a boxer in this action drama and he gained a ripped look for the role. Ananya Pandey is the heroine and most of the film’s shoot is wrapped up in Mumbai. Puri Jagannadh and Karan Johar are the producers of Liger. An official announcement about the release date will be made very soon. Puri Jagannadh is currently planning the upcoming schedules of Liger.

The teaser launch of ‘Liger’ starring Telugu star Vijay Deverakonda has been postponed amid the raging second wave of the Covid-19 pandemic across the country.

Announcing the decision, the makers of the film said in a statement on Sunday, “During these testing times, we hope you all are staying indoors and taking care of yourself and your loved ones.

“We were all geared up to reveal a power-packed teaser for ‘Liger’ on 9th May. However, due to the current scenario and environment that our country is facing, we have decided to postpone the same in the hope to share it with the world at a better time for us all.

“Having said that, we assure and guarantee that you will witness Vijay Deverakonda in a never seen before avatar and you will not be disappointed.

“Sit tight and until then we request all of you to stay safe, take care of all your dear ones, help each other and get vaccinated at the earliest. Take all the precautionary measures as prescribed by the medical fraternity and be sure that we are all in this together.

“See you soon at the theatres when we are healthy and strong as a country.”

The film, also starring Ananya Panday, is set to release in five languages — Hindi, Telugu, Tamil, Kannada and Malayalam. It is expected to release on September 9. Vijay will be seen playing a boxer in the film directed by Puri Jagannadh.

The entire shoot of this action thriller is planned to take place in Mumbai. The shoot was put on hold for more than a year due to the coronavirus pandemic. The makers resumed the shoot recently and a schedule of Liger got completed. The makers are said to have erected four big sets for Liger in Mumbai and the rest of the shoot will be completed in these sets. Puri spent a bomb on the sets for Liger.

The film also got delayed because of the foreign fighters as there are travel restrictions. The schedule also completed recently. Puri is in plans to shoot without breaks and complete the shooting portions before May. Vijay Deverakonda plays the role of a boxer in this action drama. Ananya Pandey is the leading lady and Puri Jagannadh, Karan Johar are the producers. Liger is announced for September 9th release.

Puri Connects and Dharma Productions are producing Liger jointly and the film releases in Telugu, Hindi, Tamil, Kannada and Malayalam languages.

The fans of happening hero Vijay Deverakonda went into a celebration mode with the announcement of ‘LIGER.’ Fans across two Telugu states treated themselves by getting inked (tattoos) and cutting cakes etc.

Producer of ‘LIGER’ Charmme had shared the celebrations of fans and she was amazed by this reception. In turn, VD too had a glimpse and he got emotional. Taking to his micro-blogging handle, Twitter VD wrote, “My loves Yesterday you made me emotional, happy emotional :’) There was a time I worried if anyone would notice the work I did, if people would turn up to the theaters, yesterday we released the First Look poster of #Liger and the scenes of celebrations moved me.”

Further he tweeted “Listen & Remember these words – You just wait for the teaser – I am guaranteeing Nation wide Madness!”

VD’s comments hint that he is super confident on ‘LIGER’ and the teaser is in the offing.
