South Indian films like Pushpa: The Rise, RRR and KGF: Chapter 2 have performed exceptionally well in the North Indian market. RRR and KGF: Chapter 2 swept up the summer across the country. Several Bollywood biggies fell flat and the Hindi filmmakers are puzzled now. One more South film Major is all set for a pan-Indian release this Friday. The film’s special screenings in North received a tremendous response. Now everyone is focused on how the film will fare at the North Indian box-office.

The advance sales for Major across the Telugu states are very good. The team of Major planned an extensive set of promotions which worked well and generated enough buzz on the film. Trade analysts predict that Major will open with decent footfalls in North India too. Major is the life story of Major Sandeep Unnikrishnan and Adivi Sesh reprises his role. Saiee Manjrekar, Shobita Dhulipala, Prakash Raj, Revathi and Murali Sharma played other prominent roles in this patriotic attempt.

Adivi Sesh took his time and carved out Major, the biopic of Major Sandeep Unnikrishnan. The film is screened in selected cities ahead of its release and the response has been unanimous. The makers planned special premieres across the country and the most of the shows are sold out or fast filling. The distributors have been requesting the makers to screen more shows considering the demand and the response from the early special screenings. Major is expected to open with a bang all over.

The promotional activities and the trailer caught everyone’s attention. Everyone is quite curious to watch the film after the early screenings. Major is the only film that will have paid premieres across the nation. The film will hit the screens on June 3rd in Telugu, Hindi and Malayalam languages. The team of Major is overwhelmed with the response from the common audience. Sashikiran Tikka directed Major and Adivi Sesh, Saiee Manjrekar played the lead roles. The strategy of screening the film helped Major bigtime.

Adivi Sesh and the ‘Major’ team are working around the clock publicising their biographical movie. As the release day for ‘Major’ is coming closer, the team has arranged for a grand pre-release event in Vishakhapatnam, Andhra Pradesh.

The pre-release event will take place on Sunday, after the premiere of ‘Major’, at 4 p.m. at Vizag’s Sangam Sarath theatre.

This is one of the unique ways of promotions ‘Major’ team has adapted, while it is also the first time in the history of Indian cinema that a movie is being premiered even before its pre-release event.

“As we feel that Major Sandeep Unnikrishnan’s story needs to reach every Indian, we have been looking for ways of promotion. His story is bigger than life, and hence we have also announced the lowest ticket prices as well”, one of the members of ‘Major’ stated.

Directed by Sashi Kiran Tikka, the movie has Adivi Sesh, Saiee Manjrekar, Prakash Raj, Revathi, and Sobitha Dhulipala in key roles.

‘Major’ will hit the screens on June 3.

Adivi Sesh is busy promoting his next film titled Major and the film will release on Friday in Telugu, Hindi and Malayalam languages. Special premieres are planned and screened. Responding about the clash, Adivi Sesh revealed that he is a huge fan of Kamal Haasan. He also said that he will watch Vikram on the release day.

“I grew up listening to the songs from Akshay Kumar’s films. I am a huge fan of Kamal sir and I am going to watch Vikram right on day one. All the three films are different and there would be no competition. Everyone has their own charm and space. I have received so much love from the audience over these years. I am sure Major will fare well irrespective of the big releases” told Adivi Sesh. Major is directed by Sashi Kiran Tikka and the film has Adivi Sesh, Saiee Manjrekar, Prakash Raj, Revathi, Murali Sharma and Shobita Dhulipala in the lead roles.

Even as ‘Major’ races towards its theatrical release, the movie is winning hearts at the preview screening.

The first preview screening of the film in Pune opened to a full house and ended with a stand ovation, waving of tricolours and many emotional touching moments as loud chants of ‘Bharat Mata Ki Jai’ and ‘Vande Mataram’ echoed across the room.

A former defence officer on a wheelchair was also present at the screening, and was in for a surprise when Adivi Sesh himself knelt down to speak to him and thank him for his support.

The officer saluted him and was in tears with Adivi’s gesture, while the rest recovered from the emotional experience that left them with goosebumps and tears.

With ‘Major’, Adivi Sesh steps into the shoes of Major Sandeep Unnikrishnan, the valorous NSG commando who laid down his life for the country during the 26/11 Mumbai terror attacks.

The actor chose to flag off the tour in Pune, as that was the city where Major Sandeep got his start as a soldier.

Based on the life of Major Sandeep Unnikrishnan, the decorated NSG commando who saved dozens during the 26/11 attacks, Adivi Sesh portrays the titular role and is being noticed for his portrayal of the heroic Major with dignity.

The bilingual film has been shot in Hindi and Telugu, and will release in Malayalam as well. ‘Major’ actor Adivi Sesh spoke about spending time with Major Sandeep Unnikrishnan’s family during the course of making of the film, which is based on the brave martyr who foiled the plans of terrorists by holding the fort during the 26/11 attacks of Mumbai.

Speaking at the song launch of ‘Oh Isha’ from ‘Major’, the actor told the media, “We persuaded uncle and amma (Major Sandeep’s parents) endlessly to meet us just once. Uncle hung up on me a couple of times when I first tried to get in touch with him, then we got a girl from our team to speak with him so that he might agree to talk to us. Eventually, he agreed to meet us.”

Sesh, who has also written the film, continued, “When I met him, he told me that a lot of filmmakers from Bollywood or even Malayalam cinema have tried to approach him but he declined every time because all of them gave away that impression that they were doing us a favour. This he felt was a genuine effort from our side to portray his son’s story.”

“During the course of filming, uncle and amma became a family. ‘Main off screen Major toh nahi ban sakta par I can try to become their second son (I may not become a Major off screen but I can surely become their second son’,” the actor added.

“We have dubbed the film in Malayalam as well, out of respect for the great man as he was from Kerala. There were no commercial considerations with regards to this decision,” he concluded.

‘Major’ is set to release on June 3 in cinema halls in Hindi, Telugu and Malayalam.

Adivi Sesh has been promoting his upcoming biographical film ‘Major’, along with his upcoming thriller ‘HIT’.

The ‘Kshanam’ actor, who compared his upcoming film ‘HIT,’ to an entirely different universe, believes that the franchise can only improve with each subsequent film.

‘HIT: The Second Case,’ starring Adivi Sesh and Meenakshi Chaudhary, is produced by actor Nani’s production company, Wall Poster Cinema. Nani also produced the prequel ‘Hit: The First Case’ which was released in 2020 and starred Vishwak Sen.

With built-up hype around the crime thriller, Adivi Sesh will portray a peculiar role in ‘HIT 2’. Speaking to one of the scribes recently, Adivi Sesh also said that every film belonging to ‘HIT’ franchise will feature a different police officer.

Adivi Sesh has even confirmed that he would be a part of the third instalment of ‘Hit’. He teased that he knows who the film’s hero is but will not reveal it.

In the case of ‘Major’, the film’s trailer has received over 15 million views in just one week. ‘Major’ will be released on June 3.
