Rana Naidu: Venky getting Criticized

0

Victory Venkatesh and his nephew Rana Daggubati worked together for Rana Naidu, a web series that is now streaming on Netflix. Venkatesh who has an exceptional family audience base is now being criticized for the content of Rana Naidu. The web series is loaded with too many cuss words and objectionable scenes that will not cater to the family crowds. The sexual content in Rana Naidu too is high. Venkatesh and Rana deliver decent which makes the show passable. Some of the episodes are too lengthy to watch.

The sub-plots are not appealing in Rana Naidu. The audience are left in shock by the explosive content of Rana Naidu. The background score and the production values will stand out in this intense tale apart from the performances of Venkatesh and Rana. For the first time, Venkatesh is getting criticized for picking up content that has enough cuss words and exploitative content.

Bollywood wasn’t aware of Prabhas – Rana Daggubati

1

After the huge success of Baahubali, Tollywood had an astonishing moment and Pushpa & RRR took the craze to next level. But earlier many North Indian stars weren’t aware of our star heroes. Rana shared his experience about the same when he was working for Baahubali and met his old Bollywood friend.

Rana Daggubati and Venkatesh are busy promoting their upcoming web series, Rana Naidu. The Netflix project is a pan-Indian web series and this is the first time both uncle and Rana working together. As part of the interaction, he said once a Bollywood friend of his asked about his project at the time of the Baahubali shoot. When Rana said Prabhas, his friend asked him,” Who is Prabhas?”

As a surprise Rana’s Bollywood friend said he only knew one actor from Tollywood, that is Chinu’s husband. Chinu is Namratha and he knows Mahesh Babu as Chinu’s husband. Rana said to his friend,” In the coming 4-5 years an army of us will land up here”. Rana shared this with a huge smile.

Netflix series, ‘Rana Naidu’ will be streaming on Netflix from March 10th. This is a story between father and son.

Rana, Venkatesh explored new relationship dynamics in ‘Rana Naidu’ shoot

0

Actor Rana Daggubati, who is gearing up for his streaming series ‘Rana Naidu’, has shared that while working on the series, he and his uncle Venkatesh Daggubati, who portrays his on-screen father, explored a different dynamic to their relationship.

The actor explained: “I usually play characters that are either good or bad, but Rana is a mix of both. He lives a dark life but also works hard to support his family. Besides the name, I don’t have much in common with him. Rana in the show has a complex past and deals with anger in an extreme way. It was challenging for me because I’m usually a chill person.”

Rana plays the role of a brooding fixer in the series and will be available to stream soon on Netflix from March 10. ‘Rana Naidu’ brings together superstar duo Rana and Venkatesh Daggubati on screen for the first time.

He further mentioned: “Luckily, my uncle and I have a great relationship off-screen, so it was fun to explore a different dynamic on set. We definitely struggled with the profanity, but we focused on the time we got between action and cut to really hone in our characters, in that moment it was only Rana Vs Naga and all the rage they had between them”.

Rana Daggubati slams ‘worst airline’ IndiGo over missing luggage

0

Actor Rana Daggubati on Sunday vented his anger on IndiGo, calling it India’s worst airline experience ever.

The Tollywood actor took to Twitter to express his anguish, saying: “India’s worst airline experience ever @IndiGo6E!! Clueless with flight times… Missing luggage not tracked… staff has no clue?? can it be any shittier!!”

The ‘Baahubali’ fame actor reportedly faced a bitter experience at Rajiv Gandhi International Airport in Hyderabad when he was leaving for Bengaluru with family members.

After Daggubati and others checked-in, they were informed that the flight was delayed due to some technical problem and were asked to board another aircraft. They were also told that their luggage will be sent on the same aircraft. However, after landing at Bengaluru airport, the actor could not trace his luggage and when he checked with the airline staff, they appeared to be clueless.

Daggubati also made few comments on the airline’s tweets, ridiculing their promotional posts.

“More Paradise lost than found,” he wrote on one of the promotions with the tagline ‘paradise found’.

On another IndiGo tweet which read “our engineers who ensure safe & hassle-free flights daily and non-stop”, the actor commented: “May be engineers are good, staff is clueless!! You might need to do something proper.”

Not stopping at that, Daggubati also commented on the airline’s promo for winter sale.

“Note with this sale flights might not land or take off on anytime schedule!! – you’re luggage they’ll have no clue about,” the actor tweeted.

Rana and Suresh Babu’s plans at Backburner

0

After the coronavirus pandemic arrived, the audience had to restrict themselves to their homes and they got addicted to the OTT platforms. Suresh Babu and Rana Daggubati had grand plans of doing multiple web-based projects for top digital platforms like Amazon Prime and Netflix. They inked deals accordingly and the teams worked on the scripts. Rana spent ample time on the projects and he finalized the scripts. But things changed post-pandemic. The digital platforms are not much interested to produce web-based films in Telugu without stars.

All the recent Telugu projects or web-based films made in Telugu failed to impress the audience. Netflix and Amazon kept several finalized Telugu projects on hold for this year and they are not ready to produce new content. Many web-based projects that are zeroed by Rana Daggubati and Suresh Babu are now kept on hold. Rana Daggubati is also yet to announce his next feature film. Suresh Babu produced four Korean remakes and they will hit the screens in the next two months. The non-theatrical deals for these films are sealed long ago. The digital players asked the makers to complete their theatrical release because of which all these films are heading for release in theatres. One among them is Saakini Daakini which released in theatres today.

Several plans of Rana Daggubati and Suresh Babu are altered post-pandemic.

Rana Daggubati planned a massive film titled Hiranyakashyapa, a mythological drama that is planned to be directed by Gunasekhar. The talented director worked on the script for ample time and the project was planned to start in 2020. After the pandemic arrived, Suresh Babu and other investors felt that the project would be risky. Gunasekhar and his team slammed the rumors calling them baseless. Gunasekhar said that the project is very much on and it would start rolling soon. The director has done some extensive research before he locked the script. Gunasekhar is currently occupied with the post-production work Shaakuntalam and he will commence the work of Hiranyakashyapa after the release of Shaakuntalam.

He siad: “I love maintaining my beard and would suggest using a mix of beard wax, oil or serum to make beards look good!”

Rana Daggubati’s fans tell him to take it easy with his experimental approach

0

Rana Daggubati, who rose to fame across India for his most portrayal in S.S. Rajamouli’s ‘Baahubali’, appears to have fallen short of the mark.

After the massive success of the ‘Baahubali’ duology, Rana hasn’t had much success, and his supporters are worried that he’s squandered the entire ‘Baahubali’ excitement.

The ‘Aranya’ star has been working on a variety of projects, and his fans have embraced his unconventional approach to acting. However, since then, his admirers have begun to get concerned because he has not achieved any sizeable hits.

Fans tell Rana to focus on building a strong market for himself and concentrate on commercial films in order to retake control of popular opinion.

‘Virata Parvam’, Rana’s most recent film, has had a dismal start with weekend box-office figures not encouraging.

“If all goes according to plan, Rana’s career will be on track in no time. He’s a seasoned performer. However, a few decisions were made incorrectly,” wrote one of his supporters on social media.

Rana’s participation in Pawan Kalyan’s ‘Bheemla Nayak’ had a bigger impact because the film had two strong actors going head-to-head. Apart from his trials with subjects, this is the type of subject Rana’s admirers want him to choose.

Tamil director PA Ranjith heaps praise on ‘Virata Parvam’

0

Pa Ranjith, a well-known Kollywood director, praised the Sai Pallavi and Rana Daggubati-starrer ‘Virata Parvam’.

“‘Viraata Parvam’ is the best Telugu film I’ve seen in recent years,” he said on Twitter.

“Producers & director Venu Udugula deserve much appreciation for making this film without any compromises. Special appreciation to Rana Daggubati for accepting to perform in this role. And Sai Pallavi, has done superbly,” the ‘Kala’ director added.

The ‘Sarpatta Parambarai’ maker, who is known for his movies close to reality, praising a Telugu movie, is not a wholesale outing.

Despite the mixed responses from the audience, ‘Virata Parvam’ has been receiving praises for the humble attempt, as the story is based on a Naxal-oriented love story.

Directed by Venu Udugula,’Virata Parvam’ also has Priyamani, Nivetha Pethuraj, Naveen Chandra, Eeswari Rao, Nandita Das, and others in pivotal roles.

Produced by SLV Cinemas and presented by Suresh Productions, the movie has Suresh Bobbili’s music.

Rana Daggubati’s Virata Parvam Movie Review

Virata Parvam Movie Review

Virata Parvam Movie Review

Rana Daggubati and Sai Pallavi are teaming up for the first time and the film titled Virata Parvam is a social drama that has some packed action and an intense love story. Venu Udugula is the director and SLV Cinemas are the producers. Virata Parvam released across the globe today and here is the review of the film:

Story:

Vennela (Sai Pallavi) is born during a Naxal-cop war and a doctor turned Naxalite (Nivetha Pethuraj) helps Vennela to see the light and names her. Vennela is an independent girl who lives in reality. She falls in love with a Naxalite leader Ravanna (Rana Daggubati) after she goes through his literature which is a revolution. She elopes from her house after her family fixes her marriage with her brother-in-law. Vennela goes in search of Ravanna and the rest of Virata Parvam is all about her journey in meeting Ravanna and what happens next. Watch the film to know about their love story.

Analysis:

Virata Parvam is a film that is inspired from a real incident. The film sounds like a documentary from the first frame. The love story was not properly penned and presented. Vennela falling in love with Ravanna looks unnatural and the entire romantic thread was not convincing. The first half of the film has no highs and it happens on a flat note. The interval portions are well penned and it is the performances that drive Virata Parvam. The cinematography work and the background score stand as a huge support for this soulless film. For a film like Virata Parvam, there should be a strong connecting drama that elevates the core episodes and it goes missing in the film.

Once Sai Pallavi runs away from her house, the entire plot gets deviated. The second half of Virata Parvam is loaded with too much-unwanted stuff which makes no sense. The film has enough potential to be an intense action-drama with a soulful romance but the director fails to balance the film. Several episodes are predictable and dragged throughout. The editing work should have been quite better to make the film look crispier. Virata Parvam will not connect much to the audience as the backdrop of Naxalites is no longer in the discussion. Vennela’s search for Ravanna never ends and this tests the patience of the audience. The performances are the major saviors of the second half.

Performances:

Sai Pallavi steals the show like always and she did a splendid join as Vennela. She has been balanced in the role that has dual shades. In emotional episodes, Sai Pallavi did her part well. Rana Daggubati shines in the role of Ravanna and his character has less screen presence than that of Sai Pallavi. Rana looks apt in the role of a Naxalite. Naveen Chandra and Priyamani are seen as the supporters of Ravanna as fellow naxals and they are good. Nandita Das plays a teacher and she has a decent role. Rahul Ramakrishna, Sai Chand and Eshwari Rao played other prominent roles. All the other actors are good.

Virata Parvam lacks a proper narration though the picked story was a right choice. Balancing drama, emotion and a love story in this hard-hitting drama is not an easy task and the director fails badly in balancing them. The background score and the cinematography work as the major assets of Virata Parvam. The production values are good. The songs are ok. Venu Udugal’s work is a disappointment.

Verdict:

Virata Parvam tests the patience of the audience and the film offers nothing much except some fine performances from Rana Daggubati and Sai Pallavi.

Birth Of Vennela: Essence Of Virata Parvam!

0

Rana Daggubati and Sai Pallavi’s Virata Parvam is releasing on 17th of this month. The movie is riding on good hype thanks to solid promotional content and good response from the film’s special previews to select audience.

Meanwhile, the makers have released a scene from the film – ‘Birth of Vennela’ which depicts the theme of the film. Sai Pallavi’s mom is seen going to hospital for delivery but gets struck in the ambush between the Naxals and the Police.

Nivetha Pethuraj takes a bullet but still proceeds to help deliver. The scene is an indication of how Sai Pallavi is attached to the Rebel philosophy. It explores the humane side of the rebels in the film.

We also get to justify the theme of the film – love in the middle of a revolution.

The scene is effectively the essence of the story and is released at a perfect time. The scene also indicates how emotional each scene in the movie is going to be. Moreover, it is likely to be the opening scene and it will only get better from there.
