Nandamuri Balakrishna’s Akhanda is into its third week and it also has stiff competition from Allu Arjun’s Pushpa. But then, it does not seem to be a problem for the movie. Akhanda is having an excellent run on the third weekend.

It has witnessed packed houses on Saturday and Sunday collections are even better. Surprisingly the movie is performing well in all classes of theaters including Multiplexes of Hyderabad. In many other theaters, the occupancy is too good.

The movie also managed to hold a good number of theaters and it helped. The movie is expected to do further next weekend as well with the Christmas holiday weekend coming up. Boyapati and Balakrishna’s combination proves to bankable for the trade once again and this time even better than their previous two outings.

Akhanda has breached 60 cr share mark worldwide as the film has collected a distributor share of 60.50 cr by the end of second weekend. This is the first 60cr share film for the hero NBK. The film is into the safe zone for the ceded area buyers now apart from Nizam, Overseas. Andhra buyers are yet to enter into the safe zone and the film needs to do good business at least a week for that.

Nandamuri Balakrishna’s recent film Akhanda had an outstanding run at the Tollywood box-office. Multiple films released on Friday and none of them received positive word of mouth. Boyapati Sreenu directed Akhanda and Balakrishna thrilled the audience in a dual role. Pragya Jaiswal is the heroine and Miryala Ravindar Reddy is the producer.

Veteran actor Nandamuri Balakrishna is quite delighted with the super success of Akhanda. The top actor looked handsome and charming in the role of Murali Krishna and in the role of Akhanda, he looked unglamorous. The latest news we hear is that the makers have spent close to Rs 50 lakhs on the wigs of the veteran actor. The makers purchased three wigs which costed them Rs 39 lakhs.

All these three wigs are used for the role of Murali Krishna in the film. A Mumbai-based hair specialist is hired to manage the look of Balakrishna in the film and the hairstylist was paid Rs 12 lakhs. On the whole, the makers had to spend Rs 50 lakhs on the wigs. The movie is made on a high budget and the makers are left in profits even before the film’s release. After a stupendous weekend, Akhanda is holding decent on the weekdays.

Exceeding all the expectations, Nandamuri Balakrishna’s recent offering Akhanda is raking massive revenues all over. From Telugu states to overseas, Akhanda is having a super-strong Sunday. The film is expected to collect a double-digit share on Sunday and it is running with packed houses all over. Extra shows and screens are added across AP and Telangana and the fourth-day numbers are higher than the second and the third.

Most of the reviews are mixed but the word of mouth from the audience is extremely positive. The film is also doing strong business across USA and the distributors recovered the investment even before the weekend. With low ticket pricing in AP, the movie is expected to recover the investment soon. Directed by Boyapati Sreenu, the film features Balakrishna, Pragya Jaiswal and Srikanth in the lead roles. Miryala Ravindar Reddy is the producer of Akhanda.

Telugu star Balakrishna ‘Akhanda’ hit the screens on Thursday and the movie has already grossed $500,000 in the US, as it registered record openings.

‘Akhanda’ has already surpassed the $500,000 milestone in the US, within a couple of days of release. Trade analysts believe the movie will enter the $1 million club overseas, as the weekend will see more people watching the movie at the theatres.

Analysts believe the word of mouth has had a great impact on the movie collections, while the audience also celebrated the first big release of a Telugu movie post the second wave of the pandemic.

Domestically, the Andhra Pradesh and Telangana areas show record collections for ‘Akhanda’s box office. The third-day collections are also growing stronger.

Balakrishna’s action scenes and S.S. Thaman’s thumping music are seen as contributing to the movie’s success.
