The current situations made sure that the theatres would not reopen anytime soon and the audience will have to watch films on digital streaming platforms. All these 42 projects would be original web series. Apart from these, Aha is also acquiring the streaming rights of yesteryear classic Telugu films for the audience. Allu Aravind shelves web shows for Aha

1

Allu Aravind floated his digital platform ‘Aha’ with utmost enthusiasm but the response was mixed. Most of the shows fell short of expectations and it is clear that they are made on strict budgets. Though some of the scripts sounded innovative, the directors lacked enough hands experience in handling web based content. Almost 25 new shows are planned and they are expected to be released on Aha before the end of this year. Then came an unexpected shock through coronavirus.

Allu Aravind is said to have spent ample time, re-checked the scripts and shelved some of the projects. At the same time, he inked deals with several Tollywood directors and offered them decent budgets if they are ready to come up and direct web series for Aha. He is also in plans to lock Megastar Chiranjeevi for a project to bring extra mileage for the digital platform. Allu Aravind is working hard to bring Aha to track with a series of interesting shows.

Tollywood directors turn Consultants for Aha

1

To dish out the content that would appeal to the audience, veteran producer Allu Aravind is in plans to rope in a bunch of renowned directors for his digital platform Aha. Frankly saying, not a single show from the OTT platform received a decent response. Allu Aravind hired a team from Mumbai who could not find refreshing plots and interesting concepts that would appeal to OTT audience. He was left in rethinking mode because of the lukewarm response the shows on Aha received.

Allu Aravind is in talks with Tollywood directors who can spend ample time and finalize interesting content for Aha. Directors like Vamshi Paidipally, Nandini Reddy, Chandra Siddharth and VI Anand already gave their nod to turn consultants for Aha. All these directors are in talks with aspiring writers and youngsters in their circles who already penned interesting scripts. Allu Aravind is quite confident in changing the face of Aha with the arrival of these talented directors on to the board.

Allu Aravind’s new experiment for Aha

1

Mega Producer Allu Aravind has been trying his best to impress the audience with the content he is producing for Aha. After several shows received a mixed response, Allu Aravind is keen to experiment with stars. We have already revealed that he is in talks with Megastar Chiranjeevi for a web series. The latest development says that Allu Aravind is planning a mini-series that can be wrapped up with the limited cast and crew members.

Lockdown will not be a barrier and the permissions for the shoot are applied currently. The entire mini-series will be shot indoors and the shoot may start next month. Bollywood filmmakers Raj and DK have already started shooting for a mini-series with just two actors. With lockdown implemented and permissions tough to acquire for film shoots, several filmmakers are keen to make mini-series. Allu Aravind is the first filmmaker from Tollywood to start a mini-series soon.

Allu Aravind’s mega plan for Chiranjeevi?

1

Allu Aravind’s OTT platform Aha carried good expectations but it fell flat after delivering poor and routine content. With the lockdown period, the views for Aha have been satisfactory. But, Allu Aravind is well aware that they are miles behind when it comes to competing with digital giants like Amazon and Netflix. He is in plans to come up with strong content along with big-budget web series in the coming days to impress the audience. If the latest speculation is to be believed, Allu Aravind is in plans to approach Megastar Chiranjeevi soon after the lockdown gets lifted.

He asked a couple of directors to prepare scripts for web series to introduce Chiranjeevi into the digital space. Chiranjeevi himself revealed that he has no hesitation to make his web series debut if the content is appealing. Allu Aravind’s Aha will produce the web series if things fall in the right place. Chiranjeevi has lined up several projects and we have to wait to see if the top actor steps out for a web series or if he continues doing feature films.

Is Allu Aravind repeating his mistakes?

1

The whole Tollywood, fans and the audience were quite eager when Mega producer Allu Aravind announced a digital streaming platform Aha. Leaving many in shock and surprise, the content failed to live up the expectations. Allu Aravind and his team were much focused on producing as many projects as they can on limited budgets so that they will have a huge collection. Picking up the right content and making quality web films are ignored because of which the platform was criticized.

Aha is now in plans to produce and release 20 web series by the end of this year. Allu Aravind approached several directors but they are left in shock with the allocated budgets. Hence he is in talks with several aspiring debutants to direct content. Allu Aravind seems to have been repeating his mistakes and he is in a hurry to produce several projects soon after the lockdown gets lifted as the audience are watching web series due to the coronavirus scare.

Allu Aravind should focus on innovative content and produce them with utmost quality if he wishes Aha to turn a tough competitor for digital giants like Amazon and Netflix. Else, Aha would get vanished in this new world of digital space.

Allu Aravind targets young directors for Aha

0

It is clear that the shows in Allu Aravind’s OTT platform Aha received mixed and poor response. To stand in the race and compete with digital giants like Amazon and Netflix, Aha should come up with shows that have unique and exceptional stuff. Allu Aravind collected the feedback and he is said to have taken the suggestions from his industry friends.

He is in talks with several young and talented directors who can direct web based films and shows. Sudheer Varma, Deva Katta and Vivek Athreya already signed contracts with Aha. Allu Aravind is in plans to rope in some more directors and produce web series that appeals to OTT viewers. His team prepared a list of directors who can direct interesting content in feasible budgets. Allu Aravind is personally interacting with the list of directors. Allu Aravind’s proposal for Aha irking Producers

1

Mega Producer Allu Aravind ventured into digital space and he floated his own platform ‘Aha’. Naming it an exclusive digital platform for Telugu movies and web series, Allu Aravind sought support from several top producers of Telugu cinema. He is said to have approached several top filmmakers who are quite active and are producing back to back films. Allu Aravind’s arrival excited them but his proposal left them irked.

Allu Aravind is keen on introducing a ‘profit-sharing’ basis through digital views. With Amazon, Hotstar and Zee5 paying a huge amount for the digital rights of Telugu biggies, Allu Aravind wanted to pay nothing but he decided to share the revenues as per the received clicks. Most of the producers are against the proposal as Amazon and others are paying huge advances for big-budget films and are acquiring the digital rights for fancy prices. The recent shows released on Aha too received poor response.

When there is tough competition for digital rights, Allu Aravind’s proposal of revenue sharing will not make Aha a successful platform anytime soon.

Allu Aravind turning a tough competitor for Amazon

0

With the huge rise in the number of viewers for films on OTT platforms, digital giants like Amazon, Netflix are investing huge amounts to acquire the digital streaming rights of Indian films. Amazon has been leading the list and the platform turned out to be comfortable for Indians as the subscription price is Rs 1000 per year. Netflix failed to reach all the corners as it is quite costly when compared to Amazon. Mega producer Allu Aravind is all set with his OTT platform ‘Aha’ which was launched in a low key affair.

He is now in talks with all the leading production houses to ink deals and acquire the streaming rights of all the upcoming biggies. On the other side, he is producing a bunch of web series which will be available soon. As Aha needs much content, the subscription prices are kept low and will be charged for premium content as of now. All the old films can be watched for free. Allu Aravind is said to give tough competition for Amazon in the coming days as he is keen to acquire the streaming rights of all the Tollywood biggies.

Allu Aravind’s business acumen: Advance payments to them

Telugu film industry always sings loud about the way senior producer Allu Aravind’s runs his business. Especially he’s known for the kind of business acumen he has when it comes to setting up few projects.

Recently Aravind has come up with projects like Geetha Govindam and Taxiwala, and those two films have done well for him. But he has regrets of missing some interesting films like Brochevarervaru Ra and Agent Sai Srinivasa Athreya that minted crores for the producers and distributors. Though he has heard about those films, he hasn’t bought them as he felt that they won’t work.

After looking at the way they worked out, Aravind is asking his team to find the directors of those films and shower them with advance paychecks. The owner of Geetha Arts has now given instructions to his team to not miss out such brilliant young directors and asked them to lock them for a project in the future.

Not just Aravind, but many deep-rooted producers (and distributors) are of the opinion that they should work with the young directors of these films in order to maximise, both their image and box office capability. Are those directors willing to work with these established players is the question that needs to be answered now.
