Andhra Pradesh is narcotics hub of India: Pawan Kalyan

0

Actor politician Pawan Kalyan on Wednesday alleged that Andhra Pradesh has become a narcotics hub of the nation with ‘ganja’ (marijuana) being supplied to various parts of the country from the State.

The Jana Sena leader took to Twitter to claim that Andhra Pradesh has become a narcotics hub and is filled with many druglords at every level.

“Entire nation is getting affected due to willful inaction of leaders who are in-charge of the present government,” wrote Pawan Kalyan.

“During my ‘Porata Yatra’ in 2018, which was meant to understand the socio-economic issues of people of the state, in the tribal areas of Andhra-Orissa border I had received numerous complaints about health, unemployment, illegal mining and about ‘ganja trade and its mafia’,” the actor tweeted.

The Jana Sena leader posted alleged video clips of police officials of different States and cities to support his claims.

“Andhra Pradesh — ‘Narcotics hub of the nation’ supplies ganja to Pune, Mumbai and Maharashtra, too. The Maharashtra Police have seized the ganja shipment, Pawan wrote with an alleged clip of a TV news channel’s report about seizure of 312 kg of the contraband.

“Hyderabad City-Police Commissioner’ Sri Anjani Kumar, (IPS) giving out details about how narcotics are being transported from AP to the rest of the country,” tweeted Jana Sena leader with a clip from the police official’s press conference.

He also posted the video clip of Ranganath, Superintendent of Police of Nalgonda district of Telangana. The official revealed that the Andhra Orissa Border area is the source of ganja and from there it is supplied to various parts of the country.

Pawan Kalyan posted a video clip of Bengaluru Police Commissioner Kamal Pant and also a TV report about Kerala police seizing huge amounts of ganja from Andhra Pradesh.

Another video clip is of a Madhya Pradesh police official speaking about seizure of ganja worth Rs 1 crore which was brought from Chittoor in Andhra Pradesh.

A TV report posted by Pawan is about the Rajasthan Police seizing 210 kg of ganja from Visakhapatnam, Andhra Pradesh.

Another video is of Delhi Police revealing the seizure of ganja. Subsequent interrogation revealed, it came from Visakhapatnam.

Did Jagan extend AP ministers term till June 2022?

0

YSRCP chief and Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister YS Jaganmohan Reddy has reportedly put off his plans to reshuffle his cabinet until June 2022.

Speculations are rife in YSRCP circles that all the ministers in Jagan’s cabinet requested CM to continue them as ministers for six more months until June 2022 citing “Covid”.

While forming his cabinet in June 2019, CM Jagan announced that he will continue his cabinet ministers only for two-and-a-half-year tenure.

Jagan announced that he will drop all his ministers after two-and-half-years and give chance to new ones in his cabinet to work for the remaining two-and-a-half-year tenure of the YSRCP government.

As per Jagan’s announcement, the term of all the existing cabinet ministers should end in November 2021.

The new cabinet should take over from December 2021.

But YSRSP sources say all the existing ministers requested Jagan to extend their term by six more months until June 2022 because they lost one-and-a-half-year term due to Covid since March 2020.

They could not discharge duties completely due to Covid.

Jagan reportedly agreed and put off his plans to reshuffle his cabinet until June 2022.

Why did KCR talk about expanding to AP?

0

Some comments that KCR made during the recent party plenary are now a hot topic of discussion in Andhra Pradesh. During his keynote speech, KCR said that the TRS was getting requests to set up party units even in Andhra Pradesh. He said that thousands of people were requesting him to contest from Bhimavaram. The political analysts and pundits are breaking their heads to decipher the inner meaning of these utterances.

Who invited KCR to Andhra Pradesh? Was it an off-the-cuff statement or was it a planned comment? Who was he targeting? Who was he aiming to hit? Can TRS really contest and win from any seat in Andhra Pradesh? What kind of impact will it have on YS Jagan Mohan Reddy?

It is an open fact that both KCR and YS Jagan are on the best of the terms. They are working in tandem and are trying to help one another. While the TRS does not have any presence in AP, the YSRCP has no activity in Telangana. But, YS Sharmila’s entry has changed the situation. Her strong criticism of the KCR government has become a prickly issue. The TRS feels that by talking about contesting from AP, it can weaken Sharmila’s criticism.

Interestingly, KCR has talked about contesting from AP during the GHMC elections. He had then said that he would win the elections from Bhimavaram very easily. His comments now at the plenary are also on the same lines. The analysts are pulling their hair over KCR’s comments.

Is YS Jagan paying “guru dakshina” to Sarada Peetham seer?

0

Whenever YS Jagan Mohan Reddy is in trouble, Swami Swarupanandendra of Visakha Satada Peetham is always in the forefront to bail him out. He has not only strongly defended YS Jagan but also performed Yagams for his success. The Swamy advises Jagan on matters Hindu and comes to his rescue whenever the latter is in trouble.

Now, it is the paying back time. The YSRCP government is all set to allocate 15 acres of prime land to the Ashram ostensibly to set up a Vedic school. Sources say that a formal approval would be given in the cabinet meet scheduled for Thursday. The Peetham, which functions out of a vast swathe of prime land in Chinna Musiniwada will now get additional 15 acres on the border of Vizag and Vizianagaram districts. The location is Denderu village, which actually belongs to Vizianagaram but is closer to Vizag.

The land in question is 10 km from Sarada Peetham. The land is growing in importance as a gas pipeline was laid close to it. The adjoining lands have cashew plantations. If the land in question goes into the hands of the Peetham, the interests of these cashew farmers would be threatened.

Sources say that the file pertaining to the land in question is moving at supersonic speed and various agencies involved in government land deals are working at breakneck pace to seal the deal in favour of the Sarada Peetham. Several permissions have already been granted and the cabinet is likely to approve the transaction on Thursday.

CBI arrests 6 more for derogatory posts against judges in Andhra

1

The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) on Friday announced that it has arrested six more accused in a case related to making derogatory posts on social media against judges and the judiciary.

The arrested are Sridhar Reddy Avuthu, Jalagam Venkata Satyanarayana, Guda Sridhar Reddy, Sreenath Suswaram, Kishore Kumar Darisa alias Kishore Reddy Darisa, and Sudduluri Ajay Amruth.

The accused will be produced before the competent court, the central agency said.

The arrests were made in a case in which the probe was launched by the CBI in November last year on the orders of the Andhra Pradesh High Court.

With this the number of arrested has gone up to 11 in the case which was filed on November 11, 2020 against 16 accused.

On the orders of the High Court, the CBI had taken over the investigation of 12 FIRs from the Andhra Pradesh CID. The case was registered under sections 153 (A), 504, 505 (2) and 506 of IPC and Section 67 of IT Act, 2000.

The original FIRs were registered on the complaints from the Registrar General of the High Court. It was alleged that the key personnel occupying posts of prominence in the state of Andhra Pradesh by intentionally targeting the judiciary, made derogatory posts on social media platforms against judges and judiciary following some court verdicts delivered by the judges of the Andhra Pradesh High Court.

Action was also initiated by the CBI to get objectionable posts removed from the social media platforms and public domain.

The CBI had earlier arrested five accused and also filed five separate charge sheets against them. Investigation is continuing including through the channels of Mutual Legal Assistance Treaty (MLAT) and Interpol to collect evidence from abroad, the agency said.

After registration of the case, the CBI had traced 13 of the 16 accused named in the FIR. Three out of them were found to be abroad.

In August, the agency had said that it examined 11 out of the 13 accused and arrested five of them.

The first arrest in the case was made by the CBI on July 9. Lingareddy Rajasekhar Reddy, who was earlier working abroad, was secured and examined.

On July 28, the CBI arrested two accused while two more accused were arrested on August 8.

Is Jagan employing “use and throw’ strategy for leaders imported from TDP?

1

Is YSRCP too going the TRS way? TRS boss KCR is very effusive when he welcomes people from other parties into the TRS. After they join the party, they are completely sidelined. No role is given to them and they are never asked for their opinions. It is as if they never existed in the party.

YS Jagan, it appears, too is doing the same. Look at the TDP biggies who joined the YSRCP? Take the case of Panchakarla Ramesh. He was a two-time MLA and was the Vizag rural district president. He left the TDP and joined the YSRCP. But today, he is completely sidelined and forgotten. He is quite inactive in the party. Ramesh is aspiring for Vizag North seat But, Jagan has already promised that seat to KK Raju. Unless he is given an MLC seat, there appears to be no future for him.

Ditto with senior TDP leader Dr SA Rahman. No one even bothers about him. He has not been given any post even in minority quota. He is aspiring for the MLC seat. Sources say that he is planning his future strategies in the event of not being considered for the MLC posts.

The case of Tippala Gurumurthy too is similar. This former MLA too left the TDP to join the YSRCP. He is now planning for the Gajuwaka seat for 2024 elections. However, Jagan is not likely to consider his case as there is already a strong contender there. Former MLA Pasupuleti Balaraju too has expected that his daughter would be given the ZP chief post post. But, that did not happen. Thus, there is a general feeling that Jagan too is following KCR’s footsteps by welcoming the leaders from the other parties and then conveniently forgetting them.

Why is Chandrababu upset with party seniors?

1

TDP boss Chandrababu Naidu is said to be mightily upset with the senior leaders in his party. He is said to be angry with the way they stayed lukewarm during the recent attacks on the TDP offices by YSRCP workers. He found that barring Atchen Naidu and a handful of other leaders, no leader of any importance has joined the TDP protests.

He is also livid that the state-wide bandh call that he gave ended up as a damp squib. In many places, the TDP leaders did not take to streets and enforce the bandh. The reports from various districts revealed that the local satraps did not even make an attempt to make the bandh a success. He was also unhappy that the TDP leaders did not have a contingency plan ready even as they were aware that they would be house-arrested.

An angry Chandrababu reportedly spoke to several senior leaders and asked them as to why they remained unmoved at such a critical time. He said they should have shown motivational leadership and inspired the cadre.

.It may be recalled that earlier too, the TDP leaders offered only token protests and left the scene the moment the media clicked their photographs. As a result, the protest programmes called by the party fizzled out. Chandrababu did not want this to happen in case of the protests against the vandalism in the party offices. But the senior leaders were lukewarm to the calls given by the party.

Chandrababu’s big plan behind Delhi visit

1

Is there more to Chandrababu Naidu’s proposed meeting with Union Home Minister and BJP strongman Amit Shah than meets the eye? Is it not a mere angry rant of a helpless opposition leader? Is there some well thought-out plan of action behind Chandrababu Naidu’s announcement that he would complain about the happenings in Andhra Pradesh.

Sources say that foxy Chandrababu has a bigger plan in meeting Amit Shah. During his meeting with Amit Shah Chandrababu is likely to broach the subject of a possible political alliance between the TDP and the BJP. Like Eatala Rajender, who felt that only BJP’s support will help him in winning the Huzurabad bypoll, Chandrababu too is convinced that he cannot take on the might of YS Jagan Mohan Reddy all alone.

He feels he needs the backing of the Central Government, which is run by the BJP. Hence Chandrababu’s ultimate plan is to stitch up a coalition between Jana Sena, BJP and the TDP. He knows this combination had helped the TDP come to power in 2014.

His plan now is to bring to life the 2014 coalition for the 2024 elections. He feels that this combo would be able to defeat the YSRC. Chandrababu knows that another couple of defeats for the TDP would mean that the YSRCP would become more aggressive. The TDP would be further demoralised. Hence, Chandrababu is aiming to bring together the three parties. This is said to be the real reason for the Delhi tour.

Why Vijayasai skipped YSRCP’s “Janaagraha Deeksha”?

0

The ruling YSRCP in Andhra Pradesh went on state-wide protests in the name of “Janaagraha Deeksha” on Thursday (today) to protest the abusive remarks made by TDP leader K.Pattabhiram against YSRCP chief and and AP Chief Minister YS Jaganmohan Reddy.

Ministers, YSRCP MLAs, MLCs, MPs and party leaders came on to the streets and took part in agitation programmes.

Strangely, YSRCP MP Vijayasai Reddy, who is considered as No.2 in YSRCP after Jagan, was seen nowhere in these protests.

This triggered speculations that the gap between Jagan and Vijayasai has widened.

The talk about Jagan sidelining Vijayasai is doing rounds in political circles ever since he started giving prominence to Jagan’s chief advisor Sajjala Ramakrishna Reddy both in party and government.

Jagan shifted Vijayasai from his Tadepalli camp office to Vizag and was made incharge of the party’s North Andhra affairs.

Speculations are rife that Jagan is all set to drop Vijayasai even from North Andhra affairs soon and will be replaced by another Reddy MP.

Against this backdrop, Vijayasai keeping himself away from YSRCP protests against TDP on Thursday raised political heat in YSRCP.

This is because Vijayasai leaves no opportunity to attack Chandrababu and Lokesh and his absence from YSRCP protests triggered speculations that Vijayasai’s hold in YSRCP is coming to an end.

Andhra CM asks police to maintain law and order without compromise

1

Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy on Thursday exhorted police to maintain law and order without any compromise.

At the Police Commemoration Day programme at the Indira Gandhi Municipal Corporation Stadium here, he recalled the sacrifices made by police and paid tributes to the martyrs.

The Chief Minister presented financial assistance to the families of police martyrs besides releasing a book on sacrifices made by them.

As many as 377 police personnel across the country have laid down their lives in the line of duty in the last one year, out of which 11 were from the state, he said.

Jagan Mohan Reddy claimed that Andhra Pradesh is the only state to introduce a weekly day-off system for police. However, it could not be implemented effectively due to the pandemic but will now be restored as the Covid cases are declining.

The state government, he said, has cleared the previous government’s pending arrears, increased honorarium to home guards, and recruited 16,000 women police. Massive recruitment will be undertaken to fill vacancies in the department, he added.

The police has sanctioned Rs 5 lakh each to families of police personnel who succumbed to Covid, and the government has sanctioned a matching grant of Rs 5 lakh and immediately handed the Rs 10 lakh cheque to the next of the kin.

Reddy said that he has directed the officials to immediately provide jobs to family members of the deceased police personnel on compassionate grounds by November 30.

Home Minister Mekathoti Sucharitha, Endowments Minister Vellampalli Srinivas, Civil Supplies Minister Kodali Venkateswara Rao, Chief Secretary Sameer Sharma, DGP Gautam Sawang and others were present on the occasion.

Opposition tarnishing Andhra Pradesh’s image: Jagan

0

Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy on Thursday slammed opposition Telugu Desam Party (TDP) for tarnishing the image of the State by linking it with drugs out of anger for not coming to power.

He said despite the police and even central agencies clarifying that the State has no links with the recent drug haul, the opposition was carrying on Goebbels’ propaganda and branding the state as ‘Drugs Andhra Pradesh’.

He was apparently referring to 3,000 kg heroin seized at Mundra Port in Gujarat last month.

Addressing the Police Commemoration Day event at Vijayawada, the chief minister lashed out at the opposition for what he called playing with the future of the State and its people out of anger over not winning the elections and coming to power.

Reddy alleged that the opposition had conspired to create law and order problems by creating a wedge between castes and communities.

“We are seeing a new trend in crime. Anti-social elements have turned political leaders. Due to their anger over not getting power, they are destroying idols and setting ablaze temple rathams in the darkness,” he said.

He said the opposition leaders were using abusive words against the chief minister so that the chief minister’s admirers would get upset and react, leading to law and order problems.

Reddy’s comments came in the wake of attacks on TDP offices on Tuesday after a TDP spokesperson allegedly used abusive language against him.

The chief minister reiterated that the opposition will not hesitate to instigate communal violence to derive political mileage.

“Since they did not get the power and we are winning every election, they are spreading lies and carrying out Goebbels’ propaganda. They are trying to derail welfare schemes launched by the government. They are creating hurdles by filing court cases. They want to stop the construction of houses for the poor. They don’t want children of the poor to get education through English medium,” he said.

Senior IAS officer’s re-entry unnerves TDP leaders in Kodumur

0

The sudden reappearance of former IAS officer and a diehard Chandrababu acolyte at the recent party meet has raised hackles in the party circles. The IAS officer in question, GV Ramanjaneyulu, was the former commissioner of municipal administration. He contested from Kodumur in Rayalaseema in 2019 and disappeared from the scene altogether after losing the election. His sudden presence in party meets is the talk of the town these days.

Ramanjaneyulu is said to be quite close to Chandrababu Naidu and even enjoyed an extension after his superannuation. In 2014, he tried for a party ticket for his wife. In 2019, he himself resigned from his post and entered the electoral fray from Kodumuru. However, the local leaders such as Akupogu Venkata Swamy and Vishnuvardhan Reddy opposed his entry and did not cooperate with him in the elections. As a result, Ramanjaneyulu lost the elections.

Since his loss, he simply vanished from the scene and was not seen in any party programme for almost two years. Now suddenly he has materialized once again. Now he has a state level responsibility. He has been appointed as the organizing secretary and the incharge for the Human Resources Development in the party.

Now, his sudden re-entry has left leaders iike Vishnuvardhan Reddy and Akupogu Venkata Swamy confused. They have built the party during the last two years and worked hard to rally round the activists. What is their future If Rmanjaneyulu once again wants to contest from Kodumur again? These leaders are said to be worried about their future prospects in the party. As of now, the party is seized off the Pattabhi issue and there is no one to allay their fears.

One party- many stands: AP BJP’s style

0

Every political party usually has a stand of its own on any specific issue. But, there is one political party in Andhra Pradesh, which seems to have two opinions on every issue. No marks for guessing the party in question. It’s the BJP in AP. The party has two opinions even on the brazen attacks on the TDP offices in the state.

The BJP has different opinions on any subject. If Somu Veerraju says something, then Purandeswari says the exact opposite. Rajya Sabha MP GVL sometimes backs Veerraju and Purandeswari at other times. Then there are leaders like Sujana Chowdary and CM Ramesh who have their own agenda in the party. Even on the attacks on the TDP offices and the arrest of Pattabhi, the party is speaking in different tones.

State president Somu Veerraju has strongly decried the attacks on the TDP offices and said that such attacks do not augur well for democracy. For a change, Purandeswari backed him. She said the leaders in power should be tolerant of dissent. She condemned the attacks by YSRCP workers on the TDP offices. On the contrary, Rajya Sabha MP GVL Narasimha Rao reminded Chandrababu that he had opposed the Central Government and did not even allow the CBI into the state while he was in power. He said the same Chandrababu was now seeking Centre’s interference in state’s affairs. He said Chandrababu should apologise to the Central Government before seeking its support. Meanwhile, former minister and Rajya Sabha MP Sujana Chowdary too strongly criticised the ‘factionist attitude’ of the AP government.

Thus the BJP in AP is speaking in different tones. Each leader has his take on the recent incidents in AP.

Abuses against Chief Minister unacceptable: Andhra DGP

1

Andhra Pradesh Director General of Police Gautam Sawang on Wednesday said that abusive language against a constitutional authority like the chief minister is unacceptable.

He said the kind of vulgar language used by the Telugu Desam Party (TDP) spokesperson against the chief minister led to an unfortunate reaction on Tuesday in the form of attacks on TDP offices.

Stating that action will be taken as per law, the police chief claimed that the law and order situation in the state was completely under control.

“There is rule of law in the state. Some may try to disrupt law and order but the police are well prepared. Law and order will be maintained,” he said at a news conference dismissing TDP allegations of a breakdown in law and order.

Alleged supporters of ruling YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) on Tuesday attacked TDP’s central office in Amaravati in an apparent reaction to abusive words used by TDP spokesperson Pattabhi Ram against Chief Minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy.

“The statement made by the spokesperson was not a casual statement. Such abusive and vulgar language was never used before against a constitutional authority. You cannot abuse the President, Prime Minister, courts, judges and chief minister,” the DGP said, adding that it was not a slip of tongue as the TDP leader repeatedly used the abusive word at the press conference.

Replying to a question about attacks on TDP offices, he said definitely it was not in the right spirit. “We were caught unaware by the kind of reaction the use of abusive language evoked amongst a section of the society,” he said.

The DGP dismissed the allegation by TDP that he did not respond to phone calls when the party’s central office was being attacked. He said he received a WhatsApp call when he was attending a police parade and because the band was playing he could not hear what the person on the other side was saying.

He also denied that SP and local police station also did not respond. The police chief said action will be taken as per law of the land against those involved.

Sawang said what happened on Tuesday was the result of allegations made over the last one month after the seizure of nearly 3,000 kg heroin at Mundra Port in Gujarat.

He said despite police and even the central agencies clarifying that the drugs haul had no connection with Andhra Pradesh except the Vijayawada address, some people continued making allegations which vitiated the atmosphere.

“We had been saying that it is not correct to make allegations but even then allegations continued in high-pitch manner vitiating the atmosphere. If you see the pattern, yesterday it peaked and crossed all limits,” he added.

Opposition trying to vitiate atmosphere in state: Andhra CM

1

Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Y. S. Jagan Mohan Reddy alleged on Wednesday that the Opposition being “unable to digest the popularity” of his government, is trying to vitiate the peaceful atmosphere in the state.

At the launch of Jagananna Thodu Scheme which is aimed at providing financial assistance to traditional artisans, Reddy lashed out at the Telugu Desam Party (TDP).

He alleged that the Opposition would also incite communal violence just to derail the government’s welfare agenda.

Reacting to the attacks on TDP offices on Tuesday, Reddy said, “the Opposition leaders were using offensive language. It was the state-wide reaction of those who admire me and lost cool on hearing abusive language and misinformation being spread on television.”

TDP spokesman Pattabhi Ram Kommareddy hurled abuses at the Chief Minister which triggered a violent reaction from some people who attacked the Opposition’s office in Amaravati and other parts of the state.

DIsmissing the misinformation spread by Kommareddy, the Chief Minister said that his government has never shown any discrimination in implementation of welfare schemes on the grounds of caste, community, region or even party affiliation.

He attributed people’s support and God’s blessings for the victory of the YSR Congress Party and the defeat of the Opposition.

“Unfortunately the Opposition and a section of yellow media like Eenadu, Andhra Jyothi and TV5 are unable to digest the love and affection we receive from people,” he said.

Talking about the satisfaction he gets from serving people of his state, he added, “I would continue to serve the people despite the conspiracies and hurdles created by the Opposition.”

This constituency as the worst form of groupism in YSRCP

0

Group fights and factionalism… these seem to be the order of the day in the ruling YSRCP these days. In almost every assembly constituency, there are groups within the party and one is trying to pull down the other. But, the worst kind of groupism in YSRCP is in a constituency where it could not win. Yes, Razole in East Godavari, where the party lost to the Jana Sena where the group fights are most intense.

In fact, Razole is the only constituency where Jana Sena had won in 2019 elections. But, soon, Jana Sena MLA Rapaka Varaprasad joined the YSRCP and began working his way in the party. The YSRCP loyalists have fiercely opposed his entry and have since been fighting pitched battles with his group. As a result, the rival groups are involved in a competition to outdo one another. The disputes have now reached Tadepalli and CM YS Jagan Mohan Reddy is seized of the issue.

In Razole, the groups led by MLA Rapaka, YSRCP constituency incharge Pedapati Ammaji and former incharge Bontu Rajeswara Rao are holding programmes separately. Each is trying to outwit the other. There is also great anger and dissatisfaction over Rapaka giving all the nominated and party posts to only his followers. He is trying to keep away the other groups.

The loyal YSRCP workers and the leaders are unhappy at the way factionalism is destroying the good will that the party has in Razole. They have taken the issue to the notice of chief minister and party president YS Jagan Mohan Reddy.

AP home ministers: Dummies since 2004?

1

Has AP home minister become a mere show-doll? Is she confined to some inaugurations and a handful of ribbon-cuttings in her constituency? Is she becoming a mere dummy while proxies conduct the business on her behalf? The buzz in Amaravati is that government advisor Sajjala Ramakrishna Reddy is the de facto home minister in AP.

Sources say that most decisions pertaining to the Home Ministry are taken by Sajjala Ramakrishna Reddy. In fact, there are instances where he addressed the media on issues relating to the home ministry, while the minister herself is busy with some ribbon-cuttings. He is also being dubbed as the shadow home minister in AP.

Interestingly, home ministers have been reduced to the status of dummies in AP since 2004, when Sabitha Indra Reddy was made the Home Minister. The department was virtually a YSR fiefdom, with Sabhitha having nothing to do. Even during the TDP regime from 2014 till 2019, home minister Nimmakayala China Rajappa was a mere figure head. During his time, it was rumoured that appointments and transfers used to happen without his knowledge. Then, Lokesh Babu was said to be the de facto Home Minister.

In YSRCP’s case, both renegade MP Raghuramakrishnam Raju and former minister DL Ravindra Reddy have raised the issue of the home minister being reduced to being a showpiece. Some have even suggested that Sajjala should be made the home minister and Sucharita being given some other department.

Poll bugle sounds again in AP, 9 of 13 districts to see elections again!!

0

Poll bugle is sounding in Andhra Pradesh again. After panchayat, municipality, MPTC, ZPTC and the Tirupati bypolls, there is going to be municipal polls again for 12 municipalities in the state. These municipalities could not go to polls along with the other municipalities for various reasons. But, now the state election commission is preparing to hold elections to these municipalities.

Given the kind of the bulldozing majority that the YSRCP got in the elections held post 2019, it is likely that the YSRCP will steamroll this time too. In the municipalities for which elections were already held, save Tadpatri, all over civic bodies went into the YSRCP kitty. Ditto with ZPTC and MPTC elections.

The municipalities which will now go to polls are – Buchireddypalem, Akiveedu, Jaggaiahpet, Dacepalli, Darsi, Kondapalli, Gurajala, Betamcherla, Kamalapuram, Kuppam, Rajempet and Penugonda. Besides, the Nellore Municipal Corporation too would go to polls. Also, bypolls would be held for the councillor and corporators posts that fell vacant due to deaths and resignations. Thus nine of the 13 districts would have some kind of election or the other. A notification would be issued on September 23, according to sources.

It remains to be seen if the YSRCP would be able to continue its winning streak or the Opposition TDP, Jana Sena and the BJP be able to stem the tide and register decent performances.

Kin of Andhra employees died of Covid to get jobs

0

Kin of the Andhra Pradesh government employees who died of Covid-19 will be provided government jobs, Chief Minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy announced on Monday.

He directed the officials to provide jobs to the kin of deceased employees on compassionate grounds.

During a review meeting, he directed the officials to immediately provide jobs to a family member of the employees who succumbed to Covid and and complete the process by November 30.

Jagan Mohan Reddy on Monday conducted a review meeting on Covid-19 situation, vaccination, health hubs, recruitment of staff in health centres and government hospitals across the state.

He wanted officials to ensure that all government hospitals have sufficient staff as per the national standards, without any compromise. He instructed the authorities to focus on the construction of 176 primary health centres. The work on these PHCs will start by January 2022 and be completed within nine months.

Jagan implementing Tirupati strategy for Badvel bypolls?

0

Is AP Chief Minister and YSRCP chief YS Jagan Mohan Reddy planning to implement the same stratagem in Badevel bypoll that he had successfully implemented in the Tirupati bypoll? It appears so. If sources are to be believed, YS Jagan will not personally campaign in Badvel assembly constituency.

The Tirupati Lok Sabha constituency bypolls were held during the peak of the Covid pandemic. So, YS Jagan Mohan Reddy had decided not to personally campaign. He felt that his presence could actually help the spread of the virus. So, he wrote a letter to the voters appealing them to vote for the YSRCP candidate Dr Gurumurthy. The letter was sent to every voter and the party had won handsomely despite his staying away from the campaign.

YSRCP sources claim that though the Covid situation is well under control, he had decided not to campaign personally in Badvel too. He has decided to write personal letters to the voters, which would be distributed by the party workers among the voters of the constituency. The first such letter would be signed by Y Jagan personally at his Tadepalli office Through these letters, YS Jagan will explain the welfare measures being put in place by the government.

Sources said that incharges have been appointed for various mandals and villages and they would be responsible for the distribution of YS Jagan’s letter among the people. YS Jagan has reportedly set a victory target for the party leaders. He reportedly told them that they should get more than 44000 majority in Badvel. It may be recalled that the party MLA Venkata Subbaiah had won by over 44000 votes in 2019. He wants to surpass that majority mark this time.
