Sai Pallavi turns down Leo?

0

When the top actresses of the south like Rashmika Mandanna and Pooja Hegde are lined up with films, an actress like Sai Pallavi, who won SIIMA, and Filmfare awards and was listed in Forbes magazine has fewer releases when compared. Here is the reason: like other actresses Sai Pallavi doesn’t bother about her opposite lead actor and is focussed about the weightage of her role in the film.

Sai Pallavi has rejected Ajith’s Thunivu. She was approached for Manju Warrier’s role. The latest speculation is that she also rejected Leo, which is one of the biggest of south industry starring Thalapathy Vijay in Lokesh Kanagaraj’s direction. Trisha Krishnan has replaced Sai Pallavi and she will be seen as Vijay’s wife in the film. Sai Pallavi believes that both lead actors should have equal importance. She was last seen in Gargi and she will be seen romancing Ranbir Kapoor in Madhu Mantena’s Ramayana.

Shyam Singha Roy sent for Oscar Nominations

1

Shyam Singha Roy will stand as one of the best attempts of Nani. The other shade of Nani was explored and presented in this interesting film. Shyam Singha Roy is now sent for Oscar Nominations in the categories of ‘Classical Cultural Dance Indie Film’, ‘Background Score’ and ‘Periodic Film’. Shyam Singha Roy is the costliest film made in Nani’s career and is directed by Rahul Sankrityan. Nani, Sai Pallavi and Krithi Shetty played the lead roles and Niharika Entertainment bankrolled Shyam Singha Roy. The film is an intense periodic drama set in Kolkata in 1970s. Nani is currently shooting for his next biggie Dasara, a rustic Telangana-based love story that will release next year.

Sai Pallavi delivers one more Flop

1

The team of Virata Parvam gave the tag of ‘Lady Powerstar’ for Sai Pallavi. The film failed badly at the box-office despite critical acclaim. Sai Pallavi pinned many hopes on Gargi and the film released on Friday. The critics and her fans lauded the film and her performance. But the film is struggling badly at the box-office. With no audience in theatres, some of the shows have been canceled on Saturday across the Telugu states. This is clear that the audience are not ready to watch Sai Pallavi in preachy roles. They are expecting films like Fidaa and Love Story from Sai Pallavi.

The actress instead is picking up challenging roles and is rejecting commercial films. Sai Pallavi has no great films lined up for now. She is yet to announce her next film. Gargi is one more example of the perspective of the audience for Sai Pallavi. Hope the actress realizes this and makes some wise moves.

Sai Pallavi impresses reviewers with ‘Gargi’, film gets U/A certificate

1

Ever since the release of the film’s hard-hitting trailer, Sai Pallavi- starrer ‘Gargi’ has been the talk of the town. The film has now completed its censorship requirements and has been issued a U/A certificate by the Censor Board.

‘Gargi’ was shown to a significant number of members of the press earlier on Thursday, and the reviews appear to be unanimously good. As Sai Pallavi’s recent outing ‘Virata Parvam’ utterly failed at the box office, all hopes are pinned on ‘Gargi’.

‘Gargi’ is slated for a grand theatrical release on July 15 in Telugu, Tamil as well as Kannada languages.

Written and directed by Gautham Ramachandran, it has Kaali Venkat, Aishwarya Lekshmi, R.S. Shivaji, and others in key roles. Bankrolled by Blacky Genie and My Left Foot banner, the film is presented in Telugu by Rana Daggubati.

Sai Pallavi’s Gargi Impactful Trailer Out Now

0

Natural lady star Sai Pallavi is stealing the hearts of many people with her natural looks and decent action features in her every film. She is also called as lady powerstar because of her immense fanbase in Telugu.

She was recently seen in Virata Parvam. Now, she is again approaching on screen through her upcoming movie Gargi, directed by Gautham Ramachandran. The film is up for its theatrical release on July 15. So, ahead of the release of the film, the makers are speeding up its promotions.

The film’s intriguing and impactful trailer was released today. Natural star Nani and Rana Daggubati shared the trailer on social media and wished the entire team luck.

The trailer follows the journey of a school teacher who was thrown into a lot of trouble in one night due to her father’s arrest, and Sai Pallavi and the makers packed a powerful trailer, which was raised to another level by the rousing BGM from Govind Vasantha. It appears that it will be an intense courtroom drama.

The film will have a simultaneous release in Tamil, Telugu and Kannada. Music is given by Govind Vasantha. The film features Aishwarya Lakshmi, Ravichandran Ramachandran, Gautham Ramachandran, Thomas George and others in supporting roles. Tamil director PA Ranjith heaps praise on ‘Virata Parvam’

0

Pa Ranjith, a well-known Kollywood director, praised the Sai Pallavi and Rana Daggubati-starrer ‘Virata Parvam’.

“‘Viraata Parvam’ is the best Telugu film I’ve seen in recent years,” he said on Twitter.

“Producers & director Venu Udugula deserve much appreciation for making this film without any compromises. Special appreciation to Rana Daggubati for accepting to perform in this role. And Sai Pallavi, has done superbly,” the ‘Kala’ director added.

The ‘Sarpatta Parambarai’ maker, who is known for his movies close to reality, praising a Telugu movie, is not a wholesale outing.

Despite the mixed responses from the audience, ‘Virata Parvam’ has been receiving praises for the humble attempt, as the story is based on a Naxal-oriented love story.

Directed by Venu Udugula,’Virata Parvam’ also has Priyamani, Nivetha Pethuraj, Naveen Chandra, Eeswari Rao, Nandita Das, and others in pivotal roles.

Produced by SLV Cinemas and presented by Suresh Productions, the movie has Suresh Bobbili’s music.

Sai Pallavi is no more a Lady Powerstar

1

The entire team of Virata Parvam named Sai Pallavi as the lead actor in the film. Even Rana promoted her standing aside and the team of the film gave her the tag of Lady Powerstar. The tag was displayed on the screens during all the promotional events. The makers of Virata Parvam promoted the film well and spent lavishly on the promotions. Three big events have been held for the film and Rana, Sai Pallavi gave a bunch of interviews. Virata Parvam opened on a dull note and the Saturday numbers are pathetic. As per the trade analysts, the film will fail to recover the promotional budget through the theatrical revenues.

The audience are willing to watch Sai Pallavi in energetic roles that she did in films like Fidaa and Love Story. Films like Kanam and Virata Parvam are outrightly rejected by the audience and they are examples that she will not be accepted in such roles. The team of Virata Parvam was over-confident and over-enthusiastic in promoting Sai Pallavi as Lady Powerstar and this failed big time. The film’s box-office numbers are an example.

Leave about the mixed response, Virata Parvam registered low footfalls on its opening day. The critics and analysts are now laughing at the numbers and the tag of Lady Powerstar.

We Had Apprehensions On Virata Parvam: Sarala’s Brother

0

The film Virata Parvam was based on the real-life character Sarala which was played in the movie by Sai Pallavi. Although the makers didn’t disclose the original name, Sarala’s brother Mohan Rao who participated in press meet along with the team revealed the name as Shankaranna.

He appreciated Suresh Productions for coming forward to make a film on his sister’s life. He thanked Rana and Sai Pallavi for being part of the project. He has also spoken about the facts on his sister’s death.

“We initially had apprehensions on the movie. But we were convinced, after Venu narrated the story. Udugula A reported friend called me to enquire about the climax portion and doubted it may not be true. I told him whether he was there during the incident. Even we didn’t know what actually happened. Venu did four years of research on the subject and he knows more than what our family knows.

Actually, my sister loved revolution, though it was shown as if she developed feelings on Shankaranna in the movie. We had negative feelings on Shankaranna who allegedly was behind the killing of my sister. I wish Suresh Productions would make many more such meaningful movies.”

Sai Pallavi said even she wouldn’t have accepted had someone approached her with the proposal of making a film on her family members. “I didn’t meet the family earlier. I had heavy feeling, after I met them. They accepted me as their family member. Suresh Babu sir is an encyclopaedia. I learnt a lot of lessons from him and Rana.”

Rana Daggubati’s Virata Parvam Movie Review

Virata Parvam Movie Review

Virata Parvam Movie Review

Rana Daggubati and Sai Pallavi are teaming up for the first time and the film titled Virata Parvam is a social drama that has some packed action and an intense love story. Venu Udugula is the director and SLV Cinemas are the producers. Virata Parvam released across the globe today and here is the review of the film:

Story:

Vennela (Sai Pallavi) is born during a Naxal-cop war and a doctor turned Naxalite (Nivetha Pethuraj) helps Vennela to see the light and names her. Vennela is an independent girl who lives in reality. She falls in love with a Naxalite leader Ravanna (Rana Daggubati) after she goes through his literature which is a revolution. She elopes from her house after her family fixes her marriage with her brother-in-law. Vennela goes in search of Ravanna and the rest of Virata Parvam is all about her journey in meeting Ravanna and what happens next. Watch the film to know about their love story.

Analysis:

Virata Parvam is a film that is inspired from a real incident. The film sounds like a documentary from the first frame. The love story was not properly penned and presented. Vennela falling in love with Ravanna looks unnatural and the entire romantic thread was not convincing. The first half of the film has no highs and it happens on a flat note. The interval portions are well penned and it is the performances that drive Virata Parvam. The cinematography work and the background score stand as a huge support for this soulless film. For a film like Virata Parvam, there should be a strong connecting drama that elevates the core episodes and it goes missing in the film.

Once Sai Pallavi runs away from her house, the entire plot gets deviated. The second half of Virata Parvam is loaded with too much-unwanted stuff which makes no sense. The film has enough potential to be an intense action-drama with a soulful romance but the director fails to balance the film. Several episodes are predictable and dragged throughout. The editing work should have been quite better to make the film look crispier. Virata Parvam will not connect much to the audience as the backdrop of Naxalites is no longer in the discussion. Vennela’s search for Ravanna never ends and this tests the patience of the audience. The performances are the major saviors of the second half.

Performances:

Sai Pallavi steals the show like always and she did a splendid join as Vennela. She has been balanced in the role that has dual shades. In emotional episodes, Sai Pallavi did her part well. Rana Daggubati shines in the role of Ravanna and his character has less screen presence than that of Sai Pallavi. Rana looks apt in the role of a Naxalite. Naveen Chandra and Priyamani are seen as the supporters of Ravanna as fellow naxals and they are good. Nandita Das plays a teacher and she has a decent role. Rahul Ramakrishna, Sai Chand and Eshwari Rao played other prominent roles. All the other actors are good.

Virata Parvam lacks a proper narration though the picked story was a right choice. Balancing drama, emotion and a love story in this hard-hitting drama is not an easy task and the director fails badly in balancing them. The background score and the cinematography work as the major assets of Virata Parvam. The production values are good. The songs are ok. Venu Udugal’s work is a disappointment.

Verdict:

Virata Parvam tests the patience of the audience and the film offers nothing much except some fine performances from Rana Daggubati and Sai Pallavi.

Sai Pallavi comment on lynching of ‘cow smugglers’ provokes police complaint

1

A statement by Sai Pallavi in a YouTube interview on the lynching of alleged cow smuggler has triggered a social media controversy just as her Telugu film, ‘Virata Parvam’, hit the big screens.

In a YouTube interview, the actress discussed the exodus of Pandits from Kashmir in the early 1990s and compared it with the recent incidents of lynching of suspected cow smugglers.

The celebrated actress, who says she is ideologically neutral, stated: “The film ‘The Kashmir Files’ depicts the assassination of Kashmiri Pandits. A man was recently slain for carrying a cow because he was suspected of being a Muslim. The perpetrators shouted ‘Jai Shri Ram’ after killing the victim. Where is the line drawn between what occurred in Kashmir and what occurred recently?”

The comment provoked a unit of the Bajrang Dal to file a complaint in Hyderabad. The Bajrang Dal Bhagyanagar displayed their complaint letter on Twitter and said that a case had been filed against the actress at the Sultanbazar P.S.

They asked Sai Pallavi to apologise to the entire country, particularly to Kashmiri Pandits, for her “venomous” statements. They added that if she did not do so, “the situation will deteriorate further”.

Some of Sai Pallavi’s admirers have defended her views on social media, while others have expressed their unhappiness.

Birth Of Vennela: Essence Of Virata Parvam!

0

Rana Daggubati and Sai Pallavi’s Virata Parvam is releasing on 17th of this month. The movie is riding on good hype thanks to solid promotional content and good response from the film’s special previews to select audience.

Meanwhile, the makers have released a scene from the film – ‘Birth of Vennela’ which depicts the theme of the film. Sai Pallavi’s mom is seen going to hospital for delivery but gets struck in the ambush between the Naxals and the Police.

Nivetha Pethuraj takes a bullet but still proceeds to help deliver. The scene is an indication of how Sai Pallavi is attached to the Rebel philosophy. It explores the humane side of the rebels in the film.

We also get to justify the theme of the film – love in the middle of a revolution.

The scene is effectively the essence of the story and is released at a perfect time. The scene also indicates how emotional each scene in the movie is going to be. Moreover, it is likely to be the opening scene and it will only get better from there.
