AP high court issues notices to Sajjala, officials

0

The Andhra Pradesh high court on Wednesday issued notices to government advisor Sajjala Ramakrishna Reddy and some officials on Why AP Needs Jagan programme. The State government had launched the programme with the ruling YSR Congress leaders and the officials taking part.

The officials and others would be going to the people and explaining to them various welfare schemes of the government. They would also give details of the direct benefit transfer to each of the families. The programme started early this month and is likely to continue for two more weeks.

A journalist, Kattepogu Venkataiah, filed a petition in the high court questioning why officials should participate in the programme. The journalist said that the programme is purely political and would benefit the ruling YSR Congress. Ahead of the 2024 general election, the programme would help the ruling party win more seats, he alleged.

He questioned the prerogative of the state government officials taking part in the programme and wanted the court to stop the officials. The petitioner also alleged that government advisor Sajjala Ramakrishna Reddy had told the officials to take part in the programme.

The court, responding to the petition, issued notices to Sajjala Ramakrishna Reddy, chief secretary K S Jawahar Reddy and secretaries of Panchayat Raj and Municipal Administration departments. The court then posted the case for four weeks for the next hearing.

Why Jagan not attending court in cases, Ashok Babu asks Sajjala

0

The State Government, Chief Minister, Jagan Mohan Reddy, and advisor to the Government, Sajjala Ramakrishna Reddy, have hatched umpteen conspiracies to see to it that former chief minister and TDP supremo, Nara Chandrababu Naidu, should not come out of the Rajamahendravaram Central Jail, said MLC and senior TDP leader, Paruchuri Ashok Babu, on Thursday.

Sajjala Ramakrishna Reddy has made unwarranted remarks when massive crowds came onto the road whe Chandrababu was released from the prison, Ashok Babu told media persons at the party headquarters here. Before passing any comments on the doctors of the AAG Hospital whether they are politicians or doctors, Sajjala should know about the background of the hospital, Ashok Babu said.

The hospital is run by the Padma Vibhushan, Dr Nageswara Reddy, he said, adding that Sajjala is finding fault when such a hospital has given certain advices to the people’s leader, Chandrababu, on his health, Ashok Babu remarked. Jagan, has earlier played a high drama by getting some scratches on his shoulder with Kodi Katti (cock knife) and rushing to Hyderabad to take rest there, he stated.

Did Jagan go to Hyderabad then as there are no proper doctors in Andhra Pradesh to treat those little wounds, Ashok Babu asks Sajjala Ramakrsihna Reddy. The same Jagan and Sajjala, who have said that they do not have faith in the Andhra Pradesh State police force, have taken the assistance of the same police force when they came to arrest YSRCP MP, Avinash Reddy, with regard to the murder case of YS Vivekananda Reddy, by playing the drama that Avinash’s mother is bed-ridden, the TDP MLC pointed out.

Is Sajjala not aware that Chandrababu is not an accused in the Skill Development case, he asked. Did Jagan ever come before the media that he is innocent in the cases pending against him, he said and felt that both Jagan and Sajjala are unable to relish that Chandrababu is on bail and thus they are misinterpreting the doctors reports.

Pointing out that Chandrababu has undergone eye surgery and the doctors advised five weeks rest by taking medicines and his heart also got enlarged, Ashok Babu said and added that Sajjala’s remarks by finding fault with the doctors reports and blaming the doctors reflect his ignorance and lack of culture.

Ashok Babu felt that Sajjala should realise the fact that his status does not fit to criticise Chandrababu and advised him to stop levelling baseless charges against the TDP supremo.

Sajjala announces candidates for Vijayawada Assembly seats

1

In a surprise development, YSR Congress general secretary and government advisor Sajjala Ramakrishna Reddy announced the candidates for the three Assembly constituencies in Vijayawada city.

Sajjala attended the birthday celebrations of former minister Velampalli Srinivas, who is also the sitting MLA from the Vijayawada West constituency. Sajjala wanted the people to elect Velampalli from Vijayawada West, Malladi Vishnu from Vijayawada Central and Devineni Avinash from Vijayawada East Assembly constituency.

The announcement came at a time when TDP general secretary Nara Lokesh is scheduled to enter the city on August 19. Lokesh would be conducting his Yuva Galam padayatra in the city for three days.

Sajjala also said that Vijayawada city was developed in the last four years of Jagan Mohan Reddy’s rule. He said that only the YSR Congress has the vision and commitment to develop Vijayawada on par with other cities in the country.

Keeping aside the development, one wonders whether Sajjala has the authority to announce the candidates for the Assembly seats! There is a strong rumour doing rounds in Vijayawada that Jagan Mohan Reddy had decided to drop both Velampalli Srinivas from Vijayawada West and Malladi Vishnu from Vijayawada Central.

The party is weighing the candidature of film actor, Mohammad Ali, from Vijayawada West Constituency. As the Muslim population is in considerable numbers here, Ali’s candidature would help the ruling party retain the seat, they believe.

In the Vijayawada central constituency, there are strong rumours that the ruling party is imposing a BC leader for the seat. Kapus and Brahmins are in considerable numbers and one wonders whether this BC card would help the ruling party or not.

It is to be seen how Vijayawada would respond to Nara Lokesh when he tours the city for three days.

Is Sajjala a strength or liability to Jagan?

0

YSR Congress general secretary and government advisor Sajjala Ramakrishna Reddy is now in the eye of the storm after the party suspended four MLAs for cross voting in the MLC elections. Two of them – Mekapati Chandrasekhar Reddy and Undavalli Sridevi – have denied the allegation, while the other two – Anam Ramanarayana Reddy and Kotamreddy Sridhar Reddy – remained silent.

Both Anam and Kotamreddy have turned against the leadership and have been indulging in criticising the party in the public meetings and before the media. Kotamreddy went one step further and attended the recent budget session with a placard and held a protest in the house only to be suspended for the entire session.

Now, after the suspension, the MLAs are showing their fingers at Sajjala alleging that he masterminded their suspension from the party. It is also alleged that Sajjala is misleading chief minister Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy in every issue.

Sajjala had been playing a key role both in the government as advisor and in the party as general secretary. Even ministers are forming queue lines at his office and they don’t even venture to sit before him.

The opposition TDP calls him Sakala Sakhaa Mantri meaning a minister for all portfolios, reflecting that he handles every portfolio and is minister above every minister. He earned the same name in the party affairs.

He was in the eye of the storm when the employees held a protest rally in Vijayawada a few months ago with the employees openly criticising him for his involvement in every issue.

Now, it is alleged that Sajjala had misled Jagan Mohan Reddy and came up with a hurriedly taken decision suspending the four MLAs. He also branded them as having taken Rs 10 crore to Rs 20 crore each from the TDP for cross voting.

The suspended MLAs are throwing an open challenge to Sajjala asking him to prove his charge. They are also saying that Sajjala is a liability for the party and Jagan Mohan Reddy as well as he had been blocking the interviews of the chief minister with the party MLAs. He is said to be not allowing the MLAs to meet the chief minister without his permission.

Whoever tried to meet the chief minister without taking his permission was branded as anti-party, it is said and thus Sajjala was causing more harm to Jagan. It is high time that Jagan Mohan Reddy realise this damage and undo it before it undoes his prospects.

Naidu blames Sajjala for police cases on TDP leaders

0

Former chief minister and TDP supremo, N Chandrababu Naidu, on Saturday blamed government advisor Sajjala Ramakrishna Reddy, for misusing the police force and foisting false cases against the TDP leaders.

Chandrababu Naidu visited the hospital where some of the TDP activists were being treated, after they received injuries in the police action at Anaparthi town of East Godavari district on the previous day.

Naidu alleged that Sajjala Ramakrishna Reddy was misusing the power and instigating the police to foist false cases against the TDP leaders and the cadre. He advised the police not to work for the political interests of the ruling party.

The TDP chief questioned the police for blocking his road show in Anaparthi though permission was given on the previous day. He wondered what made the police withdraw permission a few hours before the scheduled programme.

The TDP chief said that some police officials are working as per the instructions of Sajjala Ramakrishna Reddy. He sought to advise the police to restrain from taking political instructions and follow only the rule of law.

Chandrababu Naidu said that the TDP when in government never stopped any political activity of the opposition parties. He took a dig at the ruling YSR Congress and chief minister Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy for creating problems for the political meetings.

The TDP chief said that Jagan Mohan Reddy had lost the confidence of winning the 2024 general elections and was showing anger at the opposition parties. “Jagan is a psycho and he should go back to jail,” Chandrababu Naidu said.

The TDP chief asked the rank and file of the party that the party leadership would stand by them and protect them from the false cases.

Visakha is executive capital, no change in it, says Sajjala

0

State government advisor and ruling YSR Congress general secretary, Sajjala Ramakrishna Reddy, on Wednesday reiterated that Visakhapatnam would be the executive capital of the state. He said that there was no going back on the decentralisation plans of the YSR Congress.

When the reports of finance minister Buggana Rajendranath saying that Visakhapatnam is the only capital of the state, were brought to the notice, Sajjala said that the finance minister’s statement was misrepresented. He said that the government is committed to the decentralization plans.

We have said that Visakhapatnam would be the executive capital, while Amaratai and Kurnool would be the legislative and judicial capital respectively, Sajjala said. He said that there was no plan to change this policy.

Amaravati would continue to be the legislative capital and Kurnool would be the judicial capital. The chief minister and the senior bureaucrats would function from Visakhapatnam, Sajjala said.

“We don’t speak one thing for elections and another if there are no elections,” Sajjala said and criticised a section of the media in the state for their misleading reports. He said that the media in Andhra Pradesh was playing a political role disseminating politically motivated information.

Sajjala Ramakrishna Reddy said that Jagan Mohan Reddy would not go back on any promise that he gave and the three capitals promise was a decision after a serious thought. He made an appeal to the people not to be carried away by the misleading and politically motivated reports of the media.

Kotamreddy dares Sajjala to make threatening calls

0

Dissident MLA from the ruling YSR Congress, Kotamreddy Sridhar Reddy, continued his tirade against the party leadership on Saturday. This time, he targeted the party general secretary and government advisor Sajjala Ramakrishna Reddy.

Sridhar Reddy said that he was getting threatening calls from various people abusing him of dire consequences. He said all these calls were prompted by Sajjala Ramakrishna Reddy, who is acting as de facto chief of the ruling YSR Congress.

He said that he is not scared of anyone nor any threatening call. He further added that all the threatening calls were from the followers of Sajjala Ramakrishna Reddy. He said that his men too would start making video calls to Sajjala, if anyone made a threatening call to him.

Sridhar Reddy said that he had been closely associated with the YS family right from Raja Reddy days. He was suspended by the Congress as general secretary for supporting Jagan Mohan Reddy those days, he recalled.

Kotamreddy said that he wanted to leave the YSR Congress silently but the leaders were provoking him with baseless allegations against him. He also said that some leaders were provoking him with threatening calls at the behest of Sajjala Ramakrishna Reddy.

The Nellore Rural MLA said that he would reply to every criticism of him by the ruling party leaders. “I know more things about the party and the leaders than anyone from the Nellore district,” he said and advised minister Kakani Govardhan Reddy and former minister P Anil Kumar to mind their words while targeting him to please the leadership.

No early polls in AP, clarifies Sajjala

0

Ruling YSR Congress president and state government advisor Sajjala Ramakrishna Reddy on Monday clarified that there would be no early polls in the state. He said that the elections to the State Assembly would be held as per schedule in 2024.

Ramakrishna Reddy, the mouthpiece of Chief Minister Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy, had dispelled the talk about early elections in the state. A section of the media and opposition TDP chief N Chandrababu Naidu had on several occasions claimed that Jagan Mohan Reddy would go for early polls and had asked his party rank and file to be prepared.

Sajjala said that the chief minister is not in favour of advancing the election scheduled for any reason. “The elections would be held as per the schedule and the government would utilise the full term given by the people,” he said.

He said that TDP, Jana Sena, CPI, CPI-M and the Congress were coming together to face the YSR Congress. “Let all parties come together, we are not worried,” he asserted.

He termed Jana Sena chief Pawan Kalyan meeting TDP chief Chandrababu Naidu in Hyderabad. He said that Pawan Kalyan had been working for the TDP chief right from the beginning. “He (Pawan) supported Naidu in 2019. He worked to divide the anti-government vote in 2019 and helped Naidu to win 23 seats. Now, he wants to bring all parties together to help the TDP in 2024,” Sajjala said.

He discounted the opposition criticism on GO 1 and said that the government was not denying permission for the parties to hold public meetings and rallies. “We are only asking the parties to give us the specific locations to hold the rallies but not prohibiting the public meetings,” Sajjala said.

He also said that such restrictions have been there for decades under Section 30 of Police Act and the GO 1 was nothing new.

Jagan government defends move to prohibit meetings on roads

1

Andhra Pradesh’s ruling YSRCP on Tuesday defended its move prohibiting public meetings and rallies on roads, saying it is aimed at ensuring public safety.

YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) General Secretary and government advisor Sajjala Ramakrishna countered what the party called a fake narrative on prohibitory orders for public meetings.

He said that the opposition has been spreading a lot of misinformation regarding the Government Order (GO) issued by the state Home Department.

He dismissed the allegation that GO is suppressing the questioning voices. “Nowhere in the GO has it been stated that people have been banned from holding public meetings. It is a prohibitory order in the wake of Nellore tragedy. The GO has prohibited public meetings and rallies on roads, including national highways to ensure public safety,” he said.

He pointed out that the GO clearly states that permission will be granted for meetings but safety takes precedence. That’s why there is an emphasis on width of the road, location, exit points, number of people attending the meeting, among other pointers which would be considered by the authorities before awarding clearance for holding events.

He also rejected the claim by the opposition parties that the decision is autocratic. “The GO has elaborated that the police and district administration have the freedom to suggest alternative locations away from public roads subject to the condition that the meetings should not obstruct free flow of traffic. It is not an autocratic decision but for the safety of the public,” he said.

Earlier, the opposition parties came down heavily on the YSRCP government for issuing the GO.

Politburo member of the Telugu Desam Party (TDP) and MLA, Gorantla Butchaiah Chowdary, termed the GO a new year gift that deprives the people of their democratic rights.

He said that the GO has been issued on the provisions of the 1861 Police Act implemented by the British, which are totally outdated. This amounts to maligning democracy and it reflects the factionist mentality of the Chief Minister Jagan Mohan Reddy, the TDP leader said.

The GO is a classic example that Jagan turned as a murderer of the democracy and it once again proved his dictatorial mentality, he said.

He alleged that Jagan Reddy is trying to stifle the voice of the opposition as he is unable to digest the enormous response to the meetings of TDP President Nara Chandrababu Naidu.

Sajjala rules out early polls in Andhra Pradesh

1

YSR Congress general secretary and AP government advisor Sajjala Ramakrishna Reddy on Friday ruled out the possibility of AP going for the early polls. He dismissed the talk on the possible early elections and said that the opposition parties were spreading false news to confuse people.

He said that the people have given historic mandate to the YSR Congress in the 2019 for five years and the government would continue till the last minute. He further said that the YSR Congress would also win the next elections, despite the misleading campaign being carried out by the opposition parties and a section of the media.

Sajjala came down heavily on the media for crossing the limits of criticism. He said that a section of the media in Andhra Pradesh was spreading false news among the people. He alleged that these media heads have their political alliances with the opposition parties.

He claimed that people are with the YSR Congress and thanks to the presence of social media, they were not buying the lies of the media. He also said that people were receiving all benefits from the government cutting across the party lines.

Sajjala also said that the corruption had come down to the lowest ever with chief minister Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy crediting the cash benefit directly into the bank accounts of the people. He further said that the decentralisation of administration through the village and ward secretariats, distribution of pension and ration at the doorsteps had reduced the hassles of the people, with which people are happy.

He also said that the Nadu-Nedu in education and health, the revolutionary changes in agriculture through the Rythu Bharosa Kendras have also won the hearts of the people.

YSR Congress to support case against bifurcation, says Sajjala

1

The ruling YSR Congress in Andhra Pradesh would support the case in the supreme court against bifurcation, said Sajjala Ramakrishna Reddy, who is the state government advisor and the party general secretary.

Sajjala said that the case against the bifurcation is pending in the supreme court and the YSR Congress would argue against the bifurcation. He further said that if the supreme court directs withdrawal of bifurcation and reunion of the two states, the YSR Congress would be the first party to welcome it.

Sajjala recalled the YSR Congress Party’s agitation against the bifurcation eight years ago. He said that the Congress which was in power and the BJP which was in opposition were responsible for the bifurcation. Similarly, the TDP which was in opposition in the state was also equally responsible for the bifurcation, he alleged.

The YSR Congress general secretary said that severe injustice was done to Andhra Pradesh in bifurcation. The YSR Congress was fighting for correction of this injustice and would continue to fight, he asserted.

He also said that as a ruling party in Andhra Pradesh, the YSR Congress was now fighting for implementation of the provisions of the AP Reorganisation Act. The party was also fighting for implementation of the promises made to the people of Andhra Pradesh at the time of bifurcation, he said.

Sajjala accuses opposition of conspiracy against govt

0

YSR Congress general secretary and government advisor Sajjala Ramakrishna Reddy on Thursday alleged that the opposition parties were conspiring against the state government. He said that TDP chief N Chandrababu Naidu and Jana Sena chief Pawan Kalyan have colluded against the government.

Sajjala said that Chandrababu Naidu was writing scripts for both the TDP and Jana Sena only to defeat the ruling YSR Congress in the next general election. The three media houses were providing extensive coverage for the lies of Chandrababu Naidu and Pawan Kalyan.

He wondered how Chandrababu Naidu could create the stone drama at Nandigama in the NTR district. He said that the TDP chief had played a similar stone drama in Kuppam too. But they did not work to create sympathy for the TDP as people are aware of the facts.

He also wondered the way Jana Sena chief Pawan Kalyan reacted to the demolition of some compound walls in the Ippatam village. He took strong exception to the Jana Sena chief displaying unwanted anger and spitting venom at the ruling party.

He said that Chandrababu Naidu and Pawan Kalyan have no issues to fight against the state government and the ruling YSR Congress. That was the reason why they were spreading lies with the support of the media, Sajjala asserted.

The YSR Congress general secretary accused the TDP, Jana Sena and the three media houses for trying to create unrest among the people by spreading lies. However, he said that the people are well informed and were not buying these lines. This was clearly creating unrest among the two leaders and their media houses, Sajjala said.

Sajjala says Jagan rejected life-time president proposal

0

With the Election Commission issuing notice on the life-time election of Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy as president of the YSR Congress, its general secretary and government advisor Sajjala Ramakrishna Reddy said that the party would soon write to the EC on the issue.

Ramakrishna Reddy told the media persons on Thursday that the EC’s notice had reached the party office. He said that the party had not communicated anything to the EC and wondered who sent the communication to the EC.

He said that the party workers and the leaders have felt that it would be better to have Jagan Mohan Reddy as the life-time president of the party. “It was our wish and desire” to have Jagan Mohan Reddy as the permanent president of the party, he said. However, Jagan Mohan Reddy had rejected the proposal and wanted democratic process to be followed.

Sajjala further said that the party would elect Jagan Mohan Reddy as its president once in every five years. The party had amended its constitution making the president’s term for five years, he said.

Sajjala said that they were preparing the communication to be sent to the Election Commission as per the rules. He said that the party would also give a clear reply to the Election Commission on the doubts expressed by the EC on the presidential election.

“There would be no problem. It is a simple issue. A communication gap. We will clear it,” Sajjala told the media persons, stating that the issue is over and there is no controversy as media visualises.

Chandrababu responsible for Kuppam clashes: Sajjala

0

Government Advisor (Public Affairs) Sajjala Ramakrishna Reddy held opposition leader Nara Chandrababu Naidu responsible for the clashes in Kuppam. Addressing a press conference here on Thursday, he said that TDP activists became anxious with Naidu’s visit to Kuppam and tried to remove YSRCP flags which were already existing in the village. Chandrababu was the first accused in Kuppam clashes, who tried to disturb the peaceful atmosphere, he said adding that the opposition has crossed the line and lost the eligibility to continue as a political party.

Sajjala slammed Naidu for intentionally inciting people and provoking them for political gains. He said that Chandrababu should be ashamed for opening his party office after 30 years of being an MLA representing the Kuppam constituency. He said that the opposition is unable to digest good governance and is trying to mislead and create a wrong impression to the public by instigating such attacks. He said Chandrababu never thought about the people or their welfare, and indeed betrayed all sections of the society.

Terming the TDP cadre’s attacks a deliberate attempt by Chandrababu to regain the Kuppam people’s faith, he said that people have already rejected TDP in local body polls from panchayats to municipalities and finally breathing in peace after coming out of Naidu’s shackles. He said that the people of Kuppam have seen development in YS Jagan Mohan Reddy’s government and stated that Naidu has gone into depression after witnessing the overwhelming support from the public to YSRCP.

On this occasion, he flayed Jana Sena Chief Pawan Kalyan over his comments on making Andhra Pradesh free from ‘YSRCP’. He mentioned that everyone knows that Chandrababu and Pawan Kalyan are working together and want to remove all the existing welfare schemes and take them away from people. He confidently stated that people are always with YSRCP and shall extend their support in all elections.

Madhav’s video clip is being tested, says Sajjala

0

The YSR Congress general secretary and state government advisor Sajjala Ramakrishna Reddy said that the technical aspects of the alleged nude video of MP Gorantla Madhav is being tested technically.

Sajjala said that the MP had denied it as his video and alleged that it was morphed by the TDP leaders. He further said that the MP had named the people behind the morphing and promised to take legal action.

He said that no woman had complained against the MP, if the government had to take any action. “It was a private act of the MP, where the woman too did not raise any complaint. It was recorded by a third person. All this has to be cleared,” Sajjala said.

However, he said that the party would take fitting action if the video is proved genuine and not morphed. He also said that chief minister Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy would not tolerate such acts by the party leaders, particularly the elected representatives.

Sajjala ridiculed the TDP leaders demand for action against the MP without proving the genuineness of the video. He referred to the video and audio clip of note for vote case in which TDP leaders and their cash bags were found in the video, while Chandrababu Naidu’s voice was heard in the audio clip.

Sajjala wondered why the TDP leaders have not tested these video and audio clips of this vote for note case, which resulted in Chandrababu Naidu leaving Hyderabad and coming to Vijayawada in the midnight.

Let the TDP leaders allow that video and audio clip be tested and the result is made public, before making a fake campaign against the YSR Congress MP.

Clear your stand on President elections, Sajjala asks TDP

1

YSR Congress general secretary and government advisor Sajjala Ramakrishna Reddy on Wednesday asked the opposition TDP to spell its stand on the Presidential election. Sajjala wanted to know why the TDP is silent on the Presidential election.

He said that the TDP has four MPs and 23 MLAs who would be voting including Chandrababu Naidu in the Presidential election. He wanted to know why the TDP had not made its stand clear yet. He wondered whether the TDP would vote for the NDA candidate or the opposition candidate.

He expressed doubts over the TDP’s stand on the Presidential and vice-presidential elections. He wanted Chandrababu Naidu to make his stand clear at least now. He said that the YSR Congress had already made its stand clear on the Presidential election. The party had announced its support to Draupadi Murmu, the first ST woman to become the President for the first time in 75 years of Independence.

“We are clear in our social justice slogan. We have been proving it by giving due representation to the neglected sections. The STs in Andhra Pradesh enjoy greater representation,” Sajjala Ramakrishna Reddy said.

He said that the YSR Congress has no interest in national politics. We are in the state and we work for the state, he asserted. Hitting at the TDP chief, the government advisor questioned the silence maintained by the TDP in the Presidential election.

New cabinet will have old and new faces, says Sajjala

1

The new cabinet in Andhra Pradesh will be a combination of some new faces with the existing ministers. Chief Minister Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy, who wanted the total revamp of the party initially had decided on retaining some ministers in the cabinet while taking some new ones.

The cabinet would be sworn-in at the Velagapudi Secretariat at 11.31 AM on Monday, April 11. The chief minister wold hold hi-tea to the new ministers, outgoing ministers, MLAs, MLCs, MPs, and officials besides some guests immediately after the swearing-in ceremony.

The chief minister’s office is sending invitations to the guests to attend both the swearing-in ceremony and the hi-tea on April 11. The officials, headed by chief secretary Dr Sameer Sarma have monitored the arrangements for the swearing-in ceremony at the secretariat on Saturday.

Chief Minister’s Advisor and MLC Talasila Raghuram also inspected the arrangements as he takes care of the chief minister’s programmes.

Meanwhile, the officials have kept the flood bank route along the river Krishna for the movement of the VIPs, including the chief minister and the Governor. Others would have to take the routes to Velagapudi from Undavalli and Mangalagiri, the officials said.

Even as the arrangements are on, the chief minister held consultations with government advisor and YSR Congress general secretary Sajjala Ramakrishna Reddy for the second time on Saturday. The two leaders are believed to have worked on the compilation of the new cabinet, which would have representation for all the districts and castes, besides gender.

BC ministers meet Sajjala as YCP eyes on BC votes

0

The ruling YSR Congress is getting into the election mode if the party programmes are any indication. The party is leaving no stone unturned to woo the voters and ensure that the good will among the people is intact even for the 2024 elections.

In the process, BC ministers from the Jagan Mohan Reddy cabinet met government advisor and party general secretary Sajjala Ramakrishna Reddy at Tadepalli on Thursday. Ministers Dharmana Prasada Rao, Botsa Satyanarayana, Chelluboyina Venugopala Krishna, Seedri Appala Raju and Sankara Narayana, had a long discussion with Sajjala.

Sources say that the Ministers and Sajjala Ramakrishna Reddy have planned to organise district level meetings for the BCs. They have planned to organise the meeting in every district covering all the 26 districts. Later, they would have regional meetings.

Chief Minister Jagan Mohan Reddy would be addressing the regional meetings and the state level meeting of the BCs. This state level event is likely to be held either in December this year or January in 2023.

The party leaders have decided to explain to the people the number of welfare programmes that the government implemented during the last three years despite the covid pandemic. They would also explain to the people that for the first time the government had constituted 56 corporations for all the 139 sub-castes.

The YSR Congress wants to drive home these points clearly and retain its BC vote bank. As the party will not be able to hold such conventions in the election year, 2024, the leaders are preparing the ground this year.

Sajjala to replace Vijayasai in Rajya Sabha?

0

There is a buzz in YSRCP circles that Sajjala Ramakrishna Reddy, the advisor to Chief Minister YS Jaganmohan Reddy, is all set to replace present MP V.Vijayasai Reddy in Rajya Sabha in June this year.

Sajjala is already playing a key role in both YSRCP and YSRCP government. CM Jagan is giving more prominence to Sajjala than his cabinet ministers.

Four Rajya Sabha seats from Andhra Pradesh will fall vacant in June this year with the retirement of YSRCP MP Vijayasai Reddy and TDP MPs Sujana Chowdhary, TG Venkatesh and Suresh Prabhu.

Although Suresh Prabhu is a BJP leader from Maharashtra, then AP CM and TDP chief N.Chandrababu Naidu nominated him from TDP to Rajya Sabha as TDP and BJP were allies in NDA government in 2016.

Speculations are rife that Jagan is not keen to renew the Rajya Sabha membership of Vijayasai Reddy and instead wants to send Sajjala to Rajya Sabha in his place.

Sajjala already replaced Vijayasai in CM’s Tadepalli official residence. Jagan sent Vijayasai to Vizag and appointed him as party’s incharge for North Andhra districts.

Vijayasai used to handle CM Jagan’s all activities in Tadepalli residence earlier but he lost his prominence after Sajjala was brought in his place.

Going by YSRCP’s huge majority in Legislative Assembly, YSRCP winning all the four Rajya Sabha seats in June is a foregone conclusion.

Jagan wants Sajjala to gain hold at Delhi-level by becoming Rajya Sabha member and become close to BJP leaders at the national level.

Now Vijayasai is handling CM’s and YSRCP’s all activities in Delhi by meeting PM Narendra Modi, union home minister Amit Shah and other BJP leaders regularly, But speculations are rife that Jagan is not happy with the working style of Vijayasai these days and wants to replace him with Sajjala.

Are AP ministers ‘dummies’ before Sajjala?

1

By designation wise, Sajjala Ramakrishna Reddy is only the advisor to the Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister YS Jaganmohan Reddy. Sajjala is neither an elected representative like MLA or the minister in Jagan’s cabinet.

But it was clearly evident on Tuesday that even ministers who are elected representatives are inferior to Sajjala in the AP government.

Sajjala is one among the members of the committee constituted by the YSRCP government to discuss with employees unions on the ongoing row over PRC scales in which senior minister Botsa Satyanarayana along with ministers Buggana Rajendranath and Perni Nani are also members.

The government issued a GO constituting this committee in which the names of ministers are on the top and Sajjala’s name is in the bottom, as per protocol. But in reality, Sajjala is assuming the role of leader and ministers are behaving like his followers or superiors.

The committee on Tuesday addressed a press conference to brief media on PRC talks with unions.

As per protocol, ministers have to address the press conference but what happened was Sajjala addressed the press meet, and ministers Botsa and Perni Nani stand to his left and right and watched like mute spectators.

Officials and media personnel were surprised to see Sajjala leading the ministers openly before media which gave indications that he is more powerful than ministers and ministers are just ‘dummies’ in Jagan’s government.
