Jagan using divisions among employees union to delay PRC, fitment

0

It seems the YSRCP government in Andhra Pradesh is lucky. Despite empty state coffers and belligerent employees unions, it is able to stall the implementation of the PRC and the fitment for quite some time.  Clever negotiation by the officials and the differences between the unions seem to be helping the AP Government.

The PRC stand-off is already into its third week  and the government has held several rounds of meetings, but did not yield anything substantial. The government has managed to keep the employees unions at bay. Though it is holding meetings, it has not yielded any quarter. It is using Christmas vacations and other opportunities to the fullest and is delaying the announcement of the PRC.

Sources say that the differences among the employees unions too have come handy for the government. There are at least three major groups – one group led by the AP JAC led by Bandi Srinivasa Rao and Bopparaju, the second group by Secretariat Employees Union led by Venkatrami Reddy and the third by government employees association leader Suryanarayana.  These three groups are working at cross purposes giving an opportunity to the government to manipulate them and bide time.

The Jagan Government and its smart negotiator Sajjala Ramakrishna Reddy are said to be using the faultlines among the employees to full advantage. Using these differences, the government has so far delayed taking a final decision on the issue of PRC and fitment.

AP govt advisor refutes state’s links with Guj drug bust

0

The emergence of a Vijayawada angle to the massive drug bust by the DRI in Gujarat recently has developed into a political battle between the ruling YSRCP and the opposition Telugu Desam Party (TDP) in Andhra Pradesh.

In the latest development on Tuesday, Sajjala Ramakrishna Reddy, advisor to the Andhra Pradesh government, accused the TDP and some regional media houses of peddling fake news.

“Based on the information that some person named Sudhakar had given either his or his in-laws’ address, they are going to the extent of saying ‘AP has become a safe haven for drug suppliers’. This is absolutely false, there is no truth in these allegations. The TDP, its leaders and allied sectors are merely spreading fake news to meet their political agenda,” Sajjala said while speaking to the media.

In September, the DRI had seized 2,988.22 kg of heroin with an estimated street value of Rs 2,000 crore from the Mundra Port in Gujarat. The consignment originated from Afghanistan, and was shipped to Gujarat from the Bandar Abbas Port in Iran. The GST number used for the consignment allegedly belonged to a company registered in Vijayawada. Ever since, the TDP has been targeting the ruling YSRCP on the issue.

Sajjala also stated that the YSRCP and the Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister, like all other Indians, want the investigating agency to take the case to its logical conclusion and punish those responsible for such a serious offence as severely as possible.

He also pointed out at the huge quantities of ganja or marijuana siezed by the Special Enforcement Bureau (SEB) as a proof of the state government’s resolve to fight the drug menace.

“Since its inception, a total of 2.5 lakh kgs of ganja has been seized by the SEB. The reason it is seen in the news more often is because the state government is taking action. The previous government either slept over it or was hand-in-glove with the perpetrators, because of which there was never any chatter on such issues,” he said.

Companies should operate without polluting environment: YSRCP

0

Advisor to the Andhra Pradesh government, Sajjala Ramakrishna Reddy, said on Wednesday that all companies, whether Indian or foreign, should operate without polluting the environment in the state.

He made these remarks while saying that there is no objection if Amara Raja Batteries Limited (ARBL) stays in the state.

The senior YSRCP leader said that the company can run its operations without polluting the air and water.

Reddy also noted that the company has to follow all the norms without causing any problem to the people.

On Tuesday night, the state government had clarified that no industry is being singled out as reported by some sections of media in the past couple of days.

However, it made it clear that ARBL was one of the 50 industries which were given notices to close, and was among 64 industries which were served notices to stop production due to excessive pollution.

During inspections, pollution levels were found to be high in some industries, violating the norms, which also included the battery company owned by the family of Telugu Desam Party (TDP) leader Jayadev Galla.

Forest department secretary R. Vijay Kumar said that air, water and land are being polluted to a great extent, even affecting the health of the employees working in these identified industries.

He said that Nayudu Cheruvu, Gollapalli reservoir and other tanks were highly contaminated with lead ranging from 134.79 mm to 3,159 mm, including 4-5 km radius surrounding some of the industries.

Reddy asserted that Amaraja was emitting dangerous pollution and reminded that even the high court had warned the company.

When 55 people were tested for lead levels, he said, 44 were found to have impermissible levels because of the pollution emanating from the company and highlighted that nothing is more important to the government than the health of the people.

Why Naidu isn’t questioning Centre over fuel prices, asks YSRCP

0

Andhra Pradesh’s YSRCP government adviser Sajjala Ramakrishna Reddy on Tuesday wondered why Telugu Desam Party (TDP) supremo N. Chandrababu Naidu is not questioning the Central government over skyrocketing fuel prices.

His query came as the TDP said it has decided to undertake protests on Saturday against rising diesel and petrol prices in the state.

Reddy also alleged that TDP leaders just organise some Zoom conferences, protests at home and take a few photographs of those activities to amplify them in their favoured media houses.

“Chandrababu Naidu and his party leaders do not have the right to question the state government on petrol and diesel prices issue. You do not have the stature to talk about (Chief Minister Y.S. Jaganmohan Reddy) Jagan’s regime, even as he is managing a crisis situation without putting blame on anyone,” he said.

He cited the price hikes on fuel and road transport corporation fares during the Naidu regime between 2014-2019.

Meanwhile, he said that a lot of bad campaigns are going on against the government with respect to Amaraja battery company, adding that it is emitting dangerous pollutants and even the High Court had warned it.

Sakshi Vs Sajjala: Are differences growing?

0

Is something wrong between CM’s advisor Sajjala Ramakrishna Reddy and his brainchild Sakshi media? Sajjala is a famed journalist with a career that is illustrious. In fact, he was the founder director of Sakshi newspaper and then the Sakshi TV. Most of the present day functionaries of Sakshi are his disciples in the media. Yet, the Sakshi the other day made quite strong criticism against government advisors dabbling in politics.

Interestingly, Sakshi media had referred to Sajjala as party general secretary and not as an advisor. Though it was referring to Sajjala, Sakshi media said that chief minister’s advisors should not hold press meets and speak politics. Till Saturday, Sakshi always referred to Sajjala as the government advisor. But on Saturday, it addressed him as the party general secretary. Analysts are now breaking their heads over this changed nomenclature.

What is more interesting is that the Sakshi daily has further commented that late YSR’s political advisor KVP Ramachandra Rao had never addressed the media. In fact, the only time he spoke was when his best friend and political mentor YSR met with the unfortunate chopper crash, Sakshi said. The analysts are now trying to understand why there is this sudden change in the attitude of Sakshi daily.

During Chandrababu Naidu’s time, his advisors Parakala Prabhakar and Kutumba Rao had addressed several political press meets. In fact, Parakala Prabhakar had even moved a political resolution in the Mahanadu. It was only after Chandrababu’s ministerial colleagues raised the issue that Chandrababu Naidu began maintaining a safe distance from Parakala Prabhakar.

Sajjala to become a minister in Team Jagan?

0

Is the opposition’s attempt to corner CM YS Jagan Mohan Reddy’s political advisor Sajjala Ramakrishna Reddy turning out to be a godsend for him? Will these critics ultimately help Sajjala to enter into the government and become a minister? Those watching YSRCP moves say that Sajjala is too happy with those criticizing him.

Everyone knows Sajjala as a soft-spoken man. Not just that. He speaks sense. Unlike the shouting brigade and the motor mouths of the party, Sajjala speaks reasonably and deflects criticism of YS Jagan Mohan Reddy government in a rational and objective way. He not only knows the ways of administration and legislature, but even knows how media functions. He was a top media executive in Udayam and Sakshi and has deep experience of the TV media. Hence, his statements are pithy and to-the-point.

However, YSRCP detractors recently went to the court over the appointment of CM’s advisors. Responding to this petition, the court has asked the government to give details of the advisors, their briefs, jurisdictions and functions. There was also a question about whether government’s advisors can make political statements.

To deflect all these criticisms, YS Jagan is reportedly mulling making Sajjala Ramakrishna Reddy an MLC first and a minister next. If this is true, then Sajjala could get a plum department and could play a key role in the governance. This will mean he will become an important ministry and would be an important cog in Jagan government’s wheel.

Naidu started high drama at Renigunta airport: Sajjala

6

Airports have also become venues for the YCP leaders to do a lot of politicking around them. Prior to the 2019 election, the murder attempt on Jagan Reddy at Vizag airport was sensation all over the country at that time. Thereafter, Naidu was detained at Vizag airport. It was at the airport itself that Jagan Reddy met the workers unions of LG Polymers after the infamous gas leak.

Now, the Chandrababu Naidu detainment at Renigunta airport became a sensation in the midst of the municipal elections. CM Jagan’s advisor Sajjala Ramakrishna Reddy has called it nothing but an airport drama by the TDP chief. Sajjala asserted that there was no need for the YCP to threaten the TDP candidates.

Sajjala said that their party candidates would win the elections on the strength of the welfare programmes being implemented by the Jaganmohan Reddy regime. It was Chandrababu Naidu who was misleading the public for the sake of defaming the YCP rule. In fact, it was the TDP which was not able to find even candidates to contest the election on its behalf.

Sajjala has asked whether Naidu does not know that the election code was in progress in the Chittoor district. While the elections were going on smoothly, Naidu was saying that the attacks were being committed.
The YCP Advisor advised the people to demand an explanation from the TDP chief.

Sajjala slams Naidu to protect Vizag Swami

2

Suddenly, the TDP leaders right from Chandrababu Naidu have started making outright attacks on Sarada Peetham Swami Swaroopananda of Vizag. Their main worry is that the Swamiji is not only giving spiritual strength but also turning his Peetham into a multi-purpose sanctuary for Mr. Jagan Reddy.

Obviously, the Swami is left defenceless. If he gives a counter, it will lead to a bigger attack from the TDP. If he is silent, the general public may think that the TDP leaders’ allegations are true. Now, the Swamiji has left it to the duty of the ruling YCP leaders to make counter allegations against the critics.

As such, Jagan Reddy’s favourite Advisor Sajjala Ramakrishna Reddy came to the fore and took upon himself the task of defending the defenceless Swamiji. Usually, Sajjala would step in only when there would be a very important matter. He was serving almost as the mouthpiece for the Chief Minister.

Sajjala simply termed Chandrababu comments on Swami as unwelcome and baseless. He said that after the debacle in Kuppam, Chandrababu was speaking in an unbalanced manner. In the past, Naidu had also met the same Swamiji but he was conveniently forgetting that.

Jagan-Sharmila have differences of opinion: Sajjala

1

AP CM Jaganmohan Reddy’s political advisor Sajjala Ramakrishna Reddy has said that YS Sharmila appears to have decided to start her political party in Telangana. She has not consulted Jagan on this matter. But it has been the strong opinion of Mr. Jagan Reddy that the YSR family should not start a political party in Telangana. The AP CM is of the feeling that any such political party in Telangana would severely affect the overall prospects of the AP State.

Sajjala has admitted that there have been differences of opinion on some political issues between the brother and the sister. But there were no conflicts of any kind. The brother-sister relations will continue. The demand for YSR family political party in Telangana has been there since the separation of the united Andhra Pradesh. But Mr Jagan’s strong opinion is that the two Telugu States should cooperate with each other.

Sajjala said that he had advised Sharmila not to start her party in Telangana. But she is bent on running a party for continuing the YSR ideology there.

Sajjala said that on the part of the YSRCP, they have no plans to enter Telangana in future. A discussion on this has been held several times in the past but that will not happen.

SEC poll schedule aimed to benefit TDP: Sajjala

1

AP Chief Minister YS Jaganmohan Reddy’s main advisor Sajjala Ramakrishna Reddy has launched a direct attack on State Election Commissioner Nimmagadda Ramesh Kumar. He said that the SEC has released the local poll schedule only to benefit the Telugu Desam Party.

Sajjala said whole people of Andhra Pradesh have been watching the working style of Nimmagadda for over a year. Ramesh Kumar should explain why he had not conducted the local body elections in 2018. Now, he is taking such decisions that would endanger the lives of the people.

The Government has taken a serious view of the SEC moving house motion against the single bench judge order. Against this backdrop, Sajjala has made an all round attack on the SEC and the TDP. He further said that the continuing attacks on the temples seemed to be happening at the behest of some political forces. They were not hesitating to resort to conspiracies of desecreations of idols.

Sajjala said that when the people were prosperous and happy, some forces were diverting their attention with their dangerous conspiracies.

Naidu trying hard to come closer to the BJP, says Sajjala

9

CM Jagan Reddy’s Advisor Sajjala Ramakrishna Reddy has said that Chandrababu Naidu is pursuing bankrupt politics by misusing religious feelings among the people. He further said that the TDP chief is making all out efforts to come closer to the BJP in order to survive in politics.

Sajjala referred to China Jeeyar comment that it was no longer an issue who had desecrated the Ramatheertham idol. But the Swamijis and Peethadhipathis should observe self-restraint on this issue. Action can be taken only when the culprits are caught and their true intentions are known.

Sajjala accused Chandrababu Naidu of resorting to mean and cheap politics. The Jagan regime was ruling the State rising above narrow considerations of caste and religion. All the desperate efforts of Chandrababu were only to impress the BJP leaders and secure its patronage.

Sajjala also accused the previous TDP regime of demolishing temples in Vijayawada city during his rule. Also, over 29 devotees were killed in the pushkarams.

Sajjala calls TDP a party surviving on ventilator support

3

AP CM Jaganmohan Reddy’s most power Advisor Sajjala Ramakrishna Reddy has made an all out attack on the TDP. The reason for his latest sharp reaction was a challenge given by TDP former MLA Yerapatineni Srinivasa Rao.

Yerapatineni resorted to ‘thigh slapping’ and ‘moustache twirling’ today. He gave out a warning that the YCP had already lost public sympathy and support to the extent it would get washed away whenever election would be held.

Sajjala gave his most bitter ever response to this. He said that Yerapatineni had not realised yet that the TDP had already been sunk in the sea. Sajjala said that the TDP was right now surviving on a ventilator support for oxygen. The day is not far off when the YCP would disconnect even that ventilator support to the TDP.

Sajjala issued a counter challenge, saying that their party was ready for elections anytime. The YCP was not at all afraid and it would be every ready even for early elections much in advance of the Jamili elections.

For various reasons, the TDP is repeatedly brining to the fore the Jamili elections. Nearly two years are already over and Jamili elections may come in less than two years. Advance election heat is already upon AP voters now with the ruling and opposition parties raising their allegations and counter allegations.

Govt not ready, local polls impossible, says Sajjala

1

It has become a routine in Andhra Pradesh nowadays. State Election Commissioner Nimmagadda Ramesh Kumar proposes one plan. The Jaganmohan Reddy Government says it will not be possible. Only in the morning, the SEC said that the local body elections may be held after January. By evening, the reply came from the YCP Government.

Chief Minister’s Advisor Sajjala Ramakrishna Reddy said that the Government was not ready for the local elections. When the Government is not ready, it would not be possible to hold the elections. There were many objections to the manner in which the SEC was functioning.

Sajjala said that the Government was not able to understand what parameters Nimmagadda was following to decide on holding the polls. The SEC postponed the polls when there were just one or two Coronavirus cases in the State. Now, infections were being reported in hundreds.

Sajjala cautioned that there was a possibility of a second wave of Coronavirus. Hence, the AP Government was not ready for the polls as of now.

Chandrababu betrayed Amaravati farmers: Sajjala

5

AP Government’s Public Affairs Advisor Sajjala Ramakrishna Reddy has made a scathing reverse attack on the TDP in the wake of rising protests on the 300 days completion of Amaravati agitation. Sajjala asserted that it was Ex Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu who betrayed and misled the Capital City area farmers but not the YCP Government. Chandrababu has no interest in the Amaravati stir which was why he is not taking part personally in the agitation.

Sajjala described Capital City stir as the sole media creation and high drama being enacted by the TDP. The protests were taking place only in the media. Publicity stunt was going on in the name of agitation. While in power, the benamis of Chandrababu Naidu and Nara Lokesh have grabbed 4,000 acres lands. This was why CM Jaganmohan Reddy wrote a letter asking for the CBI probe. Why were Chandrababu and Lokesh not coming forward to face the CBI investigation.

Sajjala said that their Government had welcomed the CBI investigation into the derogatory social media posts. Similarly, Chandrababu and Lokesh should ask for a CBI probe into the insider trading allegations in Amaravati lands.

YCP received no proposal to join NDA: Sajjala

5

Jaganmohan Reddy Government’s Public Affairs Advisor Sajjala Ramakrishna Reddy has clarified that their party has not considered any proposal to join the BJP-led National Democratic Government alliance Government at the Centre. ‘We have not received any such proposal from any side’, he said. His clarification comes amid reports that the Jagan Reddy-led YSRCP is on the verge of formally joining the Narendra Modi-led NDA alliance regime formally by accepting ministries in the Union Cabinet.

Sajjala’s comments got a lot of significance at a time when CM Jagan has left today with a team for Delhi for a key meeting with Prime Minister Modi tomorrow. Sajjala Ramakrishna Reddy is asserting that their party is not at all interested in winning high level posts. The central focus on the YSRCP would always be to get a fair deal for the drought-hit, backward regions in the State.

Considered the most important among Jagan Reddy’s advisors, Sajjala went on to assert that the AP Government would do everything possible to protect the State’s interests. It would convince the neighbouring State in the process of getting approvals for the projects in drought-prone areas in Andhra Pradesh. At the same time, Sajjala said that their party would make sure that AP would not lose its rights in any respect.

The moot question here is whether neighbouring CM KCR would be convinced or not. It is well known that KCR is clever in whipping up Telangana sentiments based on water rights and that he would not lose the present opportunity to hit hard on both the BJP and the AP Government.

Naidu changing his secular and saffron masks: Sajjala

3

In view of raging AP battles in Delhi now, both YCP and TDP leaders were making never before allegations against each other. Now, the YCP is bent on taking its criticism against Chandrababu Naidu to the next level. YCP Government Advisor Sajjala Ramakrishna Reddy has started making direct allegations against Naidu’s political priorities. Interestingly, Sajjala is calling Naidu opportunistic while it is a fact that Jaganmohan Reddy has also changed parties’ alliances once in the past.

Sajjala is accusing Naidu of changing his secular and saffron masks to suit his convenience depending on the mood in every election. When there was a United Front Government at the Centre, the TDP joined hands with it and wore convenient secular clothing. Later Naidu shifted loyalties to Vajpayee rule and switched into saffron dress. In 2004, when the NDA was defeated, the TDP left and conveniently vowed not to join hands with the BJP again.

Sajjala said that regardless of that, Naidu once again returned to the fold of the BJP after seeing a Narendra Modi wave in the country in the 2014 election. But, Naidu did not stay loyal to the BJP. Out of impractical calculations, the TDP chief once again shifted loyalties and wore a secular dress in 2019 elections when he met with defeat.

Sajjala said that the people would not trust Naidu’s present attempts to move closer to BJP even though he sent some of his MPs into the BJP fold already. He said that Naidu would surely leave this saffron mask once again if another opportunity knocks at his door.

Sajjala reverse arguments on Amaravati and decentralisation

Because of courts and agitations, CM Jagan Reddy’s 3 Capitals move is currently stuck in a deepening crisis. Now, as expected, Sajjala Ramakrishna Reddy has taken it upon himself the task of managing the crisis. He started putting out a long list of arguments trying to blame Chandrababu Naidu for the crisis. Naidu has demanded the YSRCP to seek a fresh mandate for 3 Capitals since it has won 2019 elections with the promise of continuing Amaravati Capital.

Now, Sajjala asserts that in their party manifesto of 2019 itself, they have assured to bring in decentralisation. It was only because of this promise of decentralised development that the people gave an overwhelming 151 MLA seats in the 175-member Assembly. Sajjala’s reverse arguments made the opposition leaders speechless. What can anybody do when the ruling party leaders stick to their own inexplicable logic?

At the same time, Sajjala carefully avoided saying that their manifesto promised 3 Capitals to the AP people in 2019 electioneering. He is simply saying again and again that their party had made a pre-election promise for decentralisation. Whether the blind logic would stand before the courts or not, certainly this would carry the ruling party campaign on their media and social media for some more days.

Once again, Sajjala brought up the issue that Naidu selected Amaravati unilaterally. This was despite the fact that Naidu was showing videos of Jagan Reddy saying in the AP Assembly prior to 2019 polls that he was wholeheartedly welcoming the Amaravati Capital. Day by day, political leaders are defying gravity and logic in matters of getting what they want.

Naidu, Lokesh doing politics over dead bodies: Sajjala

1

Andhra Pradesh government advisor Sajjala Ramakrishna Reddy on Friday came down heavily on TDP president and former chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu and his son Nara Lokesh stating that they were busy indulging in politics over the pandemic even as the YSRCP ruling has been doing intensive work to combat the spread of corona virus.

Addressing a press conference on Friday, Sajjala Ramakrishna Reddy slammed Naidu and Nara Lokesh for posting a series of Tweets criticizing the government’s work over containing corona virus. The state advisor accused Naidu of doing politics over dead bodies at a time when the AP government was struggling to meet the financial needs to pay salaries to government employees and public servants and also fighting to raise finances to contain the spread of the virus in the state. “Aren’t you ashamed of doing politics over dead bodies,” Sajjala asked. The state revenues are dwindling, the finances are fast depleting and there has been a quantum jump in the costs on containing corona virus, he said. “In such a scenario, Naidu and his son Lokesh are indulging in opportunistic politics and doing politics over dead bodies,” Sajjala commented.

Decision to defer AP Assembly session soon: Sajjala

0

Sajjala Ramakrishna Reddy, advisor to the ruling YSRCP, said the government will decide on deferring the Assembly session on State budget in a day or two in view of the Corona virus scare.

Addressing a press conference on Tuesday, he said Andhra Pradesh is the only state that has reported fewer positive corona cases compared to other states and that the credit goes to the state government for the slew of measures it had initiated to fight the scourge of the deadly virus, including putting several people under observation for symptoms of Covid-19, and setting aside thousands of hospital beds in isolation wards to deal with the epidemic.

The state government, he said, had identified foreign returnees and screened them for corona virus. He said a total of more than 13,0000 foreign returnees are currently in Andhra Pradesh and over 11,000 of them have been home quarantined. At the same time, he said it would be wrong to stigamatise the foreign returnees. “I agree that foreign returnees are the primary carriers, but we should not target them. The virus is now affecting the local people too,” Sajjala noted.

The AP government had declared complete lockdown in the state, schools and educational institutions have been closed, SSC exams postponed, inter-state borders sealed, all public transport were banned, religious congregations have been barred.

He appealed to the people to remain indoors and respect the lockdown in their own interests.

Addressing a press conference in Hyderabad on Tuesday, TDP president and former chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu demanded that the state government defer the AP Assembly session on State Budget in view of the spread of Corona virus. He said convening the Assembly session in such a scenario could prove disastrous to the health of not just the legislators but also mediapersons and other Assembly staff.

In Andhra Pradesh, seven positive cases of Corona virus have been reported. Vishakapatnam alone reported around four positive cases of corona with Seetammadhara, Gajuwaka and one other area are being seen as high risk zones for corona virus.

Ramesh should resign from SEC post: Sajjala

1

AP Government Advisor Sajjala Ramakrishna Reddy made a blistering attack on State Election Commissioner N Ramesh Kumar. He called Ramesh as an insane person who is behaving like an activist of TDP and Chandrababu agent. If SEC really wrote the letter, he should admit it if he has any courage. Why is Ramesh giving a chance to Chandrababu Naidu to politicise the letter issue?

Sajjala held a press conference and continued his personal criticism against SEC. A look at the letter revealed that Ramesh Kumar himself had written the letter but now he is denying it. The SEC is a responsible position. For lack of candidates, Chandrababu Naidu had failed to contest in many seats in local polls. Ramesh Kumar arguments are just sounding similar to those of Chandrababu Naidu. Sajjala said that Naidu has no courage to face Jagan directly which is why the TDP President is using SEC to embarrass the government.

Sajjala asked how the media can hold debates and write big reports on the issue of Election Commissioner letter without verifying whether it is correct or not.
