Vijay’s GOAT: A Blunder before his Political Entry

0

Ilayathalapathy Vijay has been consistent in scoring hits and the actor too has impressed the Telugu audience with his films. All his recent films had impressive content along with chartbuster songs and they are mostly backed by top directors. He announced his political entry and the people across Tamil Nadu are eagerly waiting for his entry. He has been demanding big remuneration and his makers are spending lavishly on his films. Though some of his recent films failed to live up to the expectations, they had chartbuster songs along with stunning visuals and they ended up as hit films. Considering the graph of Vijay in Telugu cinema, none of his recent films ended up on a disastrous note like GOAT.

The film failed to fetch minimum openings across the Telugu states. Mythri Movie Makers is distributing the film across the Telugu states and they have planned a large scale release. But the occupancies are very poor and they did not improve over the matinees and evening shows today. This is a clear indication that GOAT is on a way to end up as a disaster. His fans are commenting that GOAT is a blunder from the actor before his political entry. Vijay who focuses more on songs, mannerisms, looks and on the visuals seems to have left completely on the director Venkat Prabhu. Even the star casting could not save the film considering the openings in the Telugu states. ‘GOAT is a Blunder before his Political Entry’ is a comment coming from Telugu states.

Shockingly low buzz for Vijay’s GOAT

0

Tamil actor Vijay has gained a handsome theatrical market in the Telugu states and the opening numbers of all his recent films have been humongous. But his upcoming film GOAT is carrying zero buzz and the trailer received mixed response. Tollywood’s top production house Mythri Movie Makers has acquired the Telugu theatrical rights for a whopping Rs 12 crores and the film will be released through their regular distributors. Considering the low buzz, the makers will find it tough to recover the investment unless the film gets an exceptional talk.

Mythri Movie Makers are releasing the film on a distribution basis and there would be no risk. But if the film pays well, it would be a profitable one for the production house. AGS Entertainment, the producers of GOAT have inked a mutual agreement with Mythri Movie Makers. They are releasing the Tamil version of Pushpa 2: The Rule in December and Mythri is releasing GOAT in the Telugu states. Directed by Venkat Prabhu, the film features Prashanth, Prabhu Deva, Mohan, Ajmal Ameer, Jayaram, Sneha, Laila, Meenakshi Chaudhary, Vaibhav, Yogi Babu, Premgi Amaren in other important roles.

Lights, Camera, Election: The Political Sagas of South Indian Popular Cinema Icons

0

The landscape of South Indian politics has seen a fascinating trend in recent years: popular film actors transitioning into the political arena. This phenomenon has captured public attention and reshaped the political dynamics in states like Tamil Nadu and Andhra Pradesh. Among these actor-turned-politicians, three names stand out: Vijay, Chiranjeevi, and Pawan Kalyan. Each of these charismatic figures has embarked on a unique political journey, with varying degrees of success and challenges.

Vijay Joseph : The New Entrant with Grand Ambitions

In Tamil Nadu, superstar Vijay has recently stepped into the political spotlight with his party, Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK). Known for his mass appeal and blockbuster films, Vijay is now preparing to make his mark in the political realm. The TVK is set to hold its first mega state-level conference on September 23 in Vikravandi, signaling the party’s official entry into Tamil Nadu’s political scene.

The scale of preparations for this inaugural event is indicative of Vijay’s ambitious approach. The party has rented an 85-acre plot to host the conference, expecting a turnout of approximately 1.5 lakh people from across the state. Extensive arrangements are being made to ensure a smooth experience for attendees, including parking facilities, food, water, and medical services.

Vijay plans to use this platform to unveil TVK’s vision, ideology, and principles, as well as explain the significance of the party’s newly unveiled flag. The flag, with its maroon and yellow color scheme and the motif of two fighting tuskers flanking a Vaagai flower, symbolizes the party’s identity and aspirations.

As Vijay takes his first steps in politics, he seems to be laying a strong foundation, learning from the experiences of his predecessors in the film-to-politics transition. However, the real test will lie in translating his cinematic popularity into political success and navigating the complex landscape of Tamil Nadu politics.

Chiranjeevi: A Cautionary Tale of Political Ambition

In neighboring Combined Andhra Pradesh, the political journey of Telugu megastar Chiranjeevi serves as a sobering counterpoint to Vijay’s nascent political career. Chiranjeevi launched the Praja Rajyam Party (PRP) in August 2008 amidst much fanfare and high expectations. His entry into politics was seen as a breath of fresh air, with many hoping for a fresh alternative in Andhra Pradesh’s political landscape.

Initially, the PRP attracted significant public support, riding on Chiranjeevi’s immense popularity and the promise of change. However, the party soon faced substantial challenges that hindered its growth and effectiveness. One of the primary issues was the lack of a strong organizational structure, a critical component for any new political entity. The PRP struggled to establish a solid foundation and faced difficulties in terms of party structure and organization.

Internal dissent and factionalism further weakened the party. Differences in ideology, leadership aspirations, and conflicting interests among party members led to divisions and infighting, hampering the party’s unity and effectiveness. These internal conflicts significantly impacted the PRP’s ability to present a united front and connect with the electorate.

The true test came during the 2009 Andhra Pradesh Legislative Assembly elections. Despite securing a significant vote share, the PRP failed to convert this into a substantial number of seats. The party won only 18 out of 294 assembly seats, a disappointment considering the initial expectations and support. Moreover, the PRP failed to win any seats in the simultaneous Lok Sabha elections, further denting its political aspirations.

Faced with limited success and ongoing internal challenges, Chiranjeevi made the decision to merge the PRP with the Indian National Congress in 2011. This move effectively ended the PRP’s existence as an independent political entity. While some saw this as a strategic move to gain political relevance, it led to disillusionment among many of the PRP’s original supporters who had hoped for a distinct political alternative.

Chiranjeevi’s experience highlights the complexities and challenges of transitioning from cinematic popularity to political success. It underscores the importance of having a robust party structure, clear ideology, and the ability to translate public support into electoral victories.

Pawan Kalyan: The Phoenix of Andhra Pradesh Politics

The political journey of Pawan Kalyan, Chiranjeevi’s younger brother, adds another layer to this narrative of actors in politics. Pawan Kalyan, the “Power Star,” founded the Jana Sena Party (JSP) in March 2014, as Andhra Pradesh was on the cusp of bifurcation. His entry into politics was marked by a rousing address to thousands of supporters, creating the impression that a new political force was emerging.

However, Pawan Kalyan’s political path has been far from smooth. In the 2019 elections, the JSP’s performance was disappointing. The party won only one seat out of 137 contested in the assembly elections and failed to secure any Lok Sabha seats. Pawan Kalyan himself lost from both assembly constituencies he contested. This poor showing was a stark reality check for the fledgling party.

Analysis of the JSP’s vote share revealed that its support was largely confined to the Kapu community, to which Pawan Kalyan belongs. The party struggled to expand its appeal beyond this base, with its vote share ranging from 10% to 35% in Kapu-dominated areas but falling below 5% in many other constituencies.

Despite these setbacks, Pawan Kalyan has shown resilience and adaptability. Recognizing the changing political dynamics, he realigned the JSP with the National Democratic Alliance (NDA). This strategic move seems to have paid off in recent elections, with the JSP achieving a remarkable turnaround. The party won all 21 Assembly and two Lok Sabha seats it contested as part of the NDA alliance in the latest polls.

Pawan Kalyan’s journey illustrates the importance of persistence, strategic alliances, and the ability to learn from setbacks in politics. His recent success suggests that with the right approach and partnerships, it is possible to overcome initial hurdles and establish political relevance.

As Vijay embarks on his political journey in Tamil Nadu, the experiences of Chiranjeevi and Pawan Kalyan in Andhra Pradesh offer valuable lessons. While star power and public adulation can provide an initial advantage, building a sustainable political career requires much more. A strong organizational structure, clear ideology, broad-based appeal, and the ability to adapt to changing political landscapes are crucial factors for success.

Runtime scares for Nani and Vijay

0

Tamil actor Vijay grew as an actor and he emerged as a solid actor in Tollywood. His theatrical market is rock solid and top production house Mythri Movie Makers are releasing his upcoming film GOAT on a large scale across the Telugu states. The film’s trailer received mixed response and it is packed with action for the most of the time. GOAT is releasing on September 5th and what’s worrying Vijay’s fans is the lengthy runtime of GOAT. The film lasts for 3 hours and this is a worrying factor considering the trend. The film has to be thoroughly impressive or else the lengthy films are rejected badly.

One more such film is Nani’s Saripodhaa Sanivaaram that is hitting the screens on August 29th. This is his second collaboration with Vivek Athreya after Ante Sundaraniki. Saripodhaa Sanivaaram’s final runtime is 2 hours and 48 minutes. Both Nani and Vivek Athreya got criticised in the past for the excessive runtime of Ante Sundaraniki. More than half an hour from the film would have been easily chopped and if the film had a crisp runtime, the result too would have been different. Now, debates are on about the lengthy runtime of Saripodhaa Sanivaaram. The film is said to be high on action and Nani’s performance is the major USP of the film.

The thriller is packed with ample and stylish action and stars Vijay in a dual role. Apart from Prabhu Deva and Prashanth, the film also stars Mohan, Ajmal Aamir, Meenakshi Chowdhury, Esnaha, Leela, Vaibhav, Yogi Babu, Premgi Amaran, Yogendran, VTV Ganesh and Aravind Akash in other important roles. The nearly three-minute trailer showcases some of the high-profile action scenes shot around the globe. While parts of the film appear to be set in Russia, one of the subplots involves a bomb threat in Chennai. Vehicles such as trains, cars, motorcycles and helicopters can be seen.

Director Venkat Prabhu revealed the story of the film in a recent interview. He said “GOAT” is a fictional story, but we have brought it closer to reality. Vijay and his core team are part of the Special Anti-Terrorism Squad, a branch of RAW Challenges that forms the core of the story. The film’s story revolves around four RAW agents haunted by memories of their former work, setting the stage for a high-octane action drama. Vijay’s GOAT struggling for Buzz

0

Tamil actor Vijay also gained a decent theatrical market in Telugu. His previous films like Theri, Mersal, Bigil and Master have made decent money across the Telugu states. With Vijay making his political entry, there are reports that GOAT will be his last film for now as an actor. The film is also releasing in Telugu in a grand manner on September 5th. Three songs from the film are out and none of them made decent noise. GOAT has been struggling for buzz even across Tamil Nadu. The trailer should make loud noise and generate enough buzz. Else, the film will open on a dull note in Telugu states.

Top production house Mythri Movie Makers acquired the entire Telugu theatrical rights of GOAT. Venkat Prabhu is the director of GOAT and Meekashi Chaudhary is the heroine. Prashanth, Prabhudeva, Ajmal Ameer, Mohan, Jayaram, Sneha, Laila will be seen in other important roles. GOAT is a science fiction action drama. A Gutsy decision from Vijay

Tamil Superstar Vijay has been consistently delivering blockbusters and he emerged as the highest paid Tamil actor. He is charging close to Rs 150 crores per film and all his films have been doing exceptional business. Vijay who is doing two films per year has decided to take up full-time politics. He will quit films and will focus on fulltime politics starting next year. He is working on the aim to contest in 2026 Assembly polls in Tamil Nadu. Vijay took a gutsy decision to quit films at a crucial time in his career.

Also, there is a lot of political vacuum in Tamil Nadu after the demise of legends like Jayalalithaa, Karunanidhi and Vijaykanth. Kamal Haasan restricted himself as a part-time politician and he is active right before the polls. Vijay decided to take up politics when he is earning big in films and is enjoying star status. His party is named Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam and he will start his political campaign next year. The actor approached the Election Commission of India for all the permissions.

Jailer: Rajini vs. Vijay Fan Clash Continues on Social Media

0

The highly awaited “Jailer” movie, directed by Nelson, hit screens today and received good to mixed response. Nelson’s knack for handling dark comedy shines in the film’s superb first half, followed by an average second half and a satisfying climax. This emotional rollercoaster has led to a similarly varied reaction from the audience.

https://www.telugu360.com/jailer-movie-review/

As reviews pour in, a pattern emerges: Rajinikanth’s ardent fans have showered the movie with praise, calling it as a blockbuster. General moviegoers, however, find the film just watchable due to its well-executed comedy and decent storytelling. But fans of Vijay started voicing their negative feedback on the film on social media. This ongoing tussle between Rajinikanth and Vijay supporters seems to be because of a sequence of events that happened recently.

Rajni vs Vijay: Where it all started?

This social media war between the fans of Vijay and Rajni finds its roots in the Varisu audio launch event, where some of Vijay’s fans referred to him as a “superstar.” Actor Sarath Kumar chimed in, backing this sentiment, asserting that Thalapathy Vijay had indeed earned the title of a superstar. This declaration sparked a debate as Vijay’s fans, started arguing that the superstar title rightfully belongs to him. This, in turn, triggered a backlash from Rajinikanth’s fans, leading to a war of words between these two fan groups. This fan rivalry, over the coveted Superstar title, rages on across social media platforms.

In addition, in a recent speech, Rajinikanth mentioned Vijay’s film “Beast,” directed by Nelson Dilip Kumar, which had faced negative reviews. While stating that some on his team told him to not work with Nelson, Rajinikanth emphasized the importance of proper casting, which, in his view, “Beast” had lacked. He indirectly attributed lack proper casting for the failure of Beast movie. This statement has stirred Vijay’s fans, prompting online trolling aimed at the superstar Rajni.

Vijay fans reaction on Jailer:

Some of Vijay’s fans have been sharing negative and mixed reviews on social media, highlighting flaws in the second half of the movie while downplaying the well-executed comedy elements. Director Praveen Gandhi, known for his work on Tamil films like “Ratchagan” (starring Nagarjuna) and “Jodi,” added his voice to the discussion, suggesting that Rajinikanth should extend his gratitude to both Vijay and Ajith. According to Gandhi, Rajinikanth should thank Vijay’s fans for generating hype through negative feedback, and also thank Ajith’s fans for staunchly supporting the Jailer movie to counter Vijay’s fans. Although Gandhi presented these remarks in a lighthearted manner, they carry a kernel of truth.

We need to wait and see how far and how long this social media war between the fans will go.
