Adipurush Writer issues an Apology

0

Pan-Indian star Prabhas’ recent offering Adipurush landed into several controversies after being criticized by the audience. Some of the Hindu organizations demanded a ban on the film for hurting the sentiments and the controversial dialogues. Manoj Muntashir, the writer of Adipurush took a U-Turn and he announced that Adipurush has no connection with the epic Ramayana. Now he issued an unconditional apology for the controversial dialogues in the film that hurt religious sentiments.

“I accept people’s emotions have been hurt by Adipurush. With folded hands, I extend my unconditional apologies. May Prabhu Bajrang Bali keep us united and grant us strength to serve our sacred Sanatan and our great nation” told the statement of Manoj Muntashir. Netizens responded saying that it is too late for the apology.

Interesting attempt for Adipurush in National Multiplex Chains

1

Prabhas’ recent offering Adipurush failed to impress the audience across the nation. The film’s 3D version performed better all over. The second weekend collections are not much satisfying. The national multiplex chains slashed down the prices and Adipurush will be screened across the nation for Rs 112 including the 3D charges. The film will be available for Rs 112 in PVR, INOX and Cinepolis across the country excluding the Telugu states.

Adipurush gained enough criticism from the fans and the Hindu organizations as most of them felt that the film was defaming the mythological epic Ramayana. Some of them demanded a ban. Adipurush is directed by Om Raut and Prabhas, Kriti Sanon, Saif Ali Khan played the lead roles.

Adipurush impact on Pawan Kalyan’s Next

0

People Media Factory stepped ahead and bought the Telugu theatrical rights of Prabhas’ recent film Adipurush. All the buyers are staring at huge losses and the exact financial loss would be known for People Media Factory. They will have to compensate the loss through BRO, a film featuring Pawan Kalyan and Sai Dharam Tej in the lead roles. The asking prices for the theatrical rights for BRO is huge.

Now, BRO rights will be accommodated to cover the losses of Adipurush. People Media Factory has given a word to the distributors for the same. The exact financials of BRO would be revealed before the release and the film is getting ready for July 28th release. Samuthirakani is the director and Zee Studios co-produced the film. Trivikram worked on the screenplay and dialogues for this interesting attempt.

Adipurush First Week Worldwide Collections – Dissapointing

Adipurush has a disappointing first week at the box office with huge falls on the weekdays. The worldwide gross of the film after its first week stands at 320 Cr. The distributor share of the film is at 169 Cr (incl GST) against the valued rights of 270 Cr. The recovery is a mere 62 percent so far and that doesn’t go well with the buyers. Those who bought the film on NRA basis will be seeing huge losses. The Telugu States distributors alone will lose around 40 Cr. Even Hindi Version is seeing falls similar to the Telugu Version on weekdays. Generally, Hindi Version should collect more gross than the Telugu version on weekdays being a Pan India huge budgeted film but here the rejection hasn’t allowed it. Now the eyes are on the second weekend for the film as it is an open run for it across India and needs to be seen if it can put in some respectable numbers.

Prabhas’ Instant decision saved Adipurush

0

Prabhas’ recent offering Adipurush was inspired by the Indian mythological epic Ramayana and it is directed by Om Raut. The film released on Friday and the response for the film was poor. Several controversies surrounded the film after the adaptation was not proper. Several Hindu organizations demanded to ban the film. Om Raut was badly trolled for his work. T Series shelled out huge money on the project. The makers recovered their investments before the film’s release as they could sell off the non-theatrical rights for record prices.

Om Raut wanted the film to be made in two parts considering the ongoing trend. The final runtime also forced him to move towards such a plan. He requested Prabhas to shoot for Adipurush for one more month so that the content would be divided into two parts. But Prabhas was against the idea and he had a strict no. Prabhas convinced the team of Adipurush saying that the strategy of two parts would not work for Adipurush. It was then the makers shelved their plans. Else, they would have lost big money as the first installment ended up as a flop.

Bollywood Actor’s Sensational Comments On Adipurush

1

Bollywood actor Mukesh Khanna has made sensational comments on the Adipurush film team. He said the makers had made the Hindu mythology “Ramayana” a terrible joke with dialogues and costumes. They must be burnt by standing them at 50 degrees temperature. Ravana was blessed with Shiv Ji and now who doesn’t have knowledge are talking about big things.

The Shaktimaan actor Mukhesh Khanna also takes a dig at the Adipurush writer Manoj Muntashir for saying it is their version of Ramayana. They should hide their faces somewhere for spoiling Ramayana, rather than that they are coming with some sort of explanation. One-on-one from Bollywood is showing their disappointment on Adipurush. Nepal has completely banned Indian films because of Adipurush, as they wrongly depicted the birthplace of Sita.

Security beefed up for Adipurush Writer

0

Adipurush writer Manoj Muntashir landed into a controversy after the film’s release. He has been facing the heat from the audience and the Hindu Organizations. Some of them wrote to the Prime Minister demanding a ban on the film. Manoj Muntashir took a U-Turn saying that Adipurush is not inspired from Ramayana. Some of the dialogues from the film have been changed. After receiving a series of threats, Manoj Muntashir urged the Mumbai cops for security.

Mumbai cops responded on a fast note and provided security for Manoj Muntashir. In his statement, Manoj Muntashir said that Hamunan is not God and this triggered controversy. Adipurush released on Friday and the film received poor response from the audience. Om Raut directed this mythological drama and it featured Prabhas, Kriti Sanon and Saif Ali Khan in the lead roles. T Series and Retrophiles are the producers.

Adipurush Drops heavily on First Monday – 4 days Worldwide Collections

0

Adipurush dropped heavily on the first Monday as the collections have come down by more than 70 percent. The total gross of the film stands at 288 Cr with a distributor share of 148 Cr. It has added 22 cr gross worldwide on its first Monday. The drop was always on the cards with some circuits dropping or staying flat on Sunday. The Telugu States have seen more than a 70 percent drop in the distributor share and gross collections are more than 60 percent down. The distributor share on Monday is 4.8 Cr and that seals the fate of the film as buyers are going to lose the money. The Hindi version which was doing good business over the weekend has also dropped more than 75 percent. Now the drops over the weekend will continue for the film and it needs to be seen how it will jump over the weekend which can save the buyers to an extent.

Maha Congress joins ‘Adipurush’ ban chorus for slurs on religious idols

1

Questioning whether the Censor Board was ‘sleeping’, the Maharashtra Congress on Monday demanded a ban on the Bollywood film “Adipurush” for insulting Hindu religious idols.

State party president Nana Patole said that Lord Ram and Lord Hanuman have been ‘insulted’ in the film that was released last weekend and sparked outrage in different states.

“The Bharatiya Janata Party always keeps shouting that it is a pro-Hindutva government, but when it concerns a movie that heaps abuse on Lord Ram and Shri Hanuman, it has kept silent,” said Patole.

He said that the character of Shri Hanuman has been given ‘slang dialogues’ and in the name of making the Rs 500-crore budget movie, “they have made a cartoon film”.

“How was this film cleared in the first place? Was the Central Board of Film Censors sleeping at the time? We demand that the film be banned and the film-makers should apologise to the people of India for the insults to Lord Ram and Shri Hanuman,” said Patole.

Meanwhile, the film — an adaptation of the epic ‘Ramayana’ — has sparked off strong protests in different parts of India, including Maharashtra, Uttar Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, West Bengal, Rajasthan and other states, with several Hindu groups taking strong umbrage over the dialogues.

Ayodhya saints call for ban on ‘Adipurush’

1

Irked over the dialogues of the film, saints in Ayodhya have demanded a ban on the film ‘Adipurush’.

This is the second time in a year that saints have spoken out against the film.

Last year in October, the seers had objected to the ‘distortion’ seen in the film’s trailer.

They claimed that the film has misrepresented the characters of Ramayana and shown Hindu deities in a ‘distorted’ manner — Hanuman — being shown with a beard and without a moustache.

Head priest of Ram Janmabhoomi, Acharya Satyendra Das, said that despite earlier protests, the filmmakers have misrepresented the characters of Ramayana and shown Hindu deities in a ‘distorted’ manner.

“The dialogues are shameful and the film should be banned immediately,” he added.

“Lord Ram, Lord Hanuman as well as Ravana have been presented in totally different manner. It depicts our deities in completely different form against what we have read and known so far,” Das added.

Raju Das, the priest of Hanuman Garhi temple, too sought a ban on the movie.

“Bollywood is hell bent on distorting Hindu religion. The movie ‘Adipurush’ is a classic example of how it is least concerned about Hindu sentiments,” said Raju Das.

The Mani Ram Das Chhavni Peeth, the most powerful body of Ayodhya saints, too has also backed the demand for a movie ban.

‘Adipurush’ makers to rewrite dialogues out of respect for audience sentiments

0

After receiving severe criticism over the dialogues, makers of the recently released film ‘Adipurush’ announced that they will be rewriting the lines as a mark of respect to the audience.

A statement read: “Making this visual spectacle a memorable cinematic experience, the team decides to make alterations to the film’s dialogues, valuing the input of the public and the audience.”

“The makers are revisiting the said dialogues, ensuring they resonate with the core essence of the film and the same will reflect in the theatres in the next few days. This decision is a testament that inspite of unstoppable collections at the Box Office, the team is committed and nothing is beyond the sentiments of their audiences and harmony at large.”

A day after the release, the film starring Kriti Sanon and Prabha stirred controversy over its dialogues specifically regarding the Lanka Dahan scene where Lord Hanuman is heard mouthing the lines “jalegi bhi tere baap ki” to Meghnad.

The controversy is in the Lanka Dahan scene, when Ravana’s son lights up lord Hanuman’s Tail and says: “Jali na.. Abhi to aur jalegi. Jiski jalti hai wahi janta hai.”

To which the character of Hanuman replies: ‘Kapda tere baap ka. Tel tere baap ka. Aag bhi tere baap ki. Toh jalegi bhi tere baap ki.”

Adipurush 2 days Worldwide Collections – Hindi version dominates

Adipurush collected a gross of 80 Cr worldwide on its second day with a total gross of 191 Cr. The distributor share has touched the 100 Cr mark. The film has a mixed second day as Hindi continued its good run but the Telugu version has an average hold. Baring Nizam, UA the film has dropped elsewhere. Overseas is even worse for the film in Telugu as it collected a mere 300k on Saturday in the USA. Even Overseas, the Hindi version is really making the film look like it’s collecting decent numbers. Out of 80 Cr, the film has collected worldwide on its second day, the Hindi version has contributed more than 46 Cr. Today’s advances are good for the film it will be another good day for it.

Adipurush Day1 Worldwide Collections – All Time Top4

Adipurush has a good opening worldwide with a gross of 114 Cr and a share of 61.70 Cr. The film has an excellent opening in North India and is very good in AP/TS, Karnataka. Tamil Nadu & Kerala are disappointing, to say the least. The film has created Non-RRR record in Nizam thought AP/TS overall is outside Top5. Overseas has done decent business with gross numbers less than Saaho. The film is carrying mixed word of mouth though advance bookings are excellent in Hindi and Telugu for 3D version.

The film has recorded Top4 opening for an Indian film par Saaho.

Adipurush Movie Review – Commercial Ramayana !

Adipurush movie review

Adipurush movie review

TELUGU360 Rating: 2.75/5

Pan-Indian star Prabhas delivered two back-to-back disappointments with Saaho and Radhe Shyam. His next offering Adipurush is a mythological drama that is directed by Om Raut. The film is hitting the screens on Friday and the pre-sales are terrific in all the languages and in all the territories. Prabhas plays Lord Rama and Kriti Sanon reprises the role of Sita. Saif Ali Khan plays the evil Ravana in Adipurush. A major portion of the film’s budget is spent on the VFX work. T Series and Retrophiles are the producers.

Story: Adipurush’s story covers part of Ramayana, The Aranya Kanda. The movie starts with Ravanasura ( Saif Ali Khan) abducting Sita ( Kriti Sanon). Rest of the film is about Sri Rama ( Prabhas) ‘s effort to bring Sita from Lanka with the help of vanara sena

Analysis :
Ramayana story has been told umpteen times on the big screen, on Television, and in books. Many writers and directors have presented their versions for decades. Adipurush Director Om Raut came up with an interesting version of Ramayan. The approach is to make the Ramayana epic appeal to the present generation which grew up watching Marvel Universe films. In this deliberate attempt to commercialize Ramayana, the team Adipurush has been partially successful. Had they made a crisper runtime version, Adipurush would have been a good watch. The Ravana fort artwork is lavish, The Ravanasura’s associate demons’ getups highly resemble Hollywood fiction films than Hindu mythology. The first half of the film has many good episodes one after another and it keeps the audience engaged. However, the second half could not meet the standards set by the first half. The climax portion is very lengthy, high budget visuals were gone waste here.

Performances:
Prabhas who has an angry young man image, tried his best to portray lord Shriram’s character. He did well. The crucial role of Sita played by Kriti Sanon has less screen time but is good. There are many cinematic liberties with Saif ali khan‘s Ranvasura character.

Positives:
Prabhas as Raghava
Good First half
Soothing Music
Jai Shriram vibe
Visual effects throughout the film
Decent 3D episodes

Negatives:
Excessive length
Shabby VFX works in a couple of scenes.
Second half

Verdict:

The Commercialized version of Ramayana is a mixed bag. The first 50% of the film is VERY GOOD, the next 30% is so-so and the climax 20% is average. For most of the parts, the visuals are better than expected. The songs and background score are Excellent. The lengthy run-time and shabby VFX work at times play the spoilsport. Overall, the needle stops somewhere between” One time watch” to ” Good Watch ”.
