Telugu star Prabhas, who is currently in the news with his portrayal of Raghava or Lord Ram in “Adipirush”, will be seen burning a lifesize effigy of Ravana in the Ramlila at the Lal Qila Ground in the national capital.

He will be accompanied by President, Droupadi Murmu and Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal.

Lav Kush Ramlila Committee Secretary Arjun Kumar, in a statement, said: “Prabhas played Lord Rama in ‘Adipurush’ and thus we thought to invite him as a chief guest along with the President of India and the Delhi Chief Minister. All three will shoot the arrows to kill Ravana in Ramlila.”

The Ramlila is happening after a couple of years in Delhi, and hence, the committee wanted to do it on a grand scale.

“For two years we couldn’t organise Ramlila because of Covid but this year we thought to do it on a large scale so that more people can come and watch it. Thus, we involved about 22 celebs and they all became part of our Ramlila. And this is also one of the main reasons to invite Prabhas as a guest,” Kumar said.

Detailing the actors and their roles, Kumar said: “Raghav Tiwari is playing Lord Ram and ‘Sankat Mochan Hanuman’ actor Arjun Mandola is seen as Lakshman and ‘Sankatmochan Mahabali Hanuman’ actress Deblina Chatterjee is portraying the role of Sita.”

“‘Mahabharat’ actor Nirbhay Wadhwa is seen playing Hanuman and Akhilendra Mishra, who played Ravana in the TV show ‘Ramayana’ is playing the same role in our Ramlila too. Politician and actor Manoj Tiwari is seen as Kevat. So, we tried to involve those actors, who have been part of mythological shows and played the same characters. We tried to make it as entertaining as possible for the Delhi audience,” he said.

National award-winning director Om Raut who won accolades for his work in Tanhaji impressed Prabhas with the adaptation of Ramayana. T Series came on board to produce Adipurush and a lion’s share of the film’s budget was allocated for the VFX work. The Bollywood circles and the audience have been eagerly waiting for the film’s release. A grand event took place in Ayodhya and the teaser got released to huge expectations. Leaving everyone in shock, the teaser was a huge letdown and smashed all the expectations that the film was carrying. Some of them expressed that if Adipurush is an animated film. Some of the shots from the film clearly resembled animated pictures of the lead actors. Some of the netizens called it a kids film and made fun of the teaser.

The graphics and the VFX work remind about animated games and the characters are clearly inspired from several Hollywood films. Adipurush teaser is a complete letdown and we have to wait to see how will the team try to get back the buzz. Om Raut is working with several international studios. The entire film is shot in a private studio on a green mat. A massive set of promotions for Adipurush are planned in the month of December. Om Raut’s directorial ‘Adipurush’ has been in discussion for a while now. The much-anticipated Ramayana adaptation aims to show the magnificence and splendor of Lord Rama, according to its director.

Om Raut, who has been working on ‘Adipurush’, has conveyed some important aspects of the movie.

“Ramayana has always had a strong influence since ages. I am depicting the ‘Parakrama’ (splendor and magnificence) side of Ram, which has had a great impact on me”, Om Raut said.

Revealing that shooting for ‘Adipurush’ has given him a deeper impact in life, Om Raut expressed that shooting with stars like Prabhas and Sai Ali Khan has been a great experience.

Om Raut said, “I asked Prabhas to work on his body, as he will depict Rama, the archer. The archers have a typical body, which would need a good size of transformation from Prabhas. He did start working out”.

“Prabhas is one of the nicest persons to work with. Apart from his work attitude, Prabhas brings home-cooked food on the sets. What I like about him is that he is always considerate of people on the sets, regardless of their stature”, Om Raut explained.

On being quizzed on why he prefers to cast Saif Ali Khan to essay the antagonist in ‘Adipurush’, Om Raut said, “I have had a great experience working with Saif. His intensity in the portrayal of his role in ‘Tanhaji’ has given me assurance that he could pull off this role with ease, as well”.

Pan-India star Prabhas, who has worked in hits such as the ‘Baahubali’ franchise, ‘Saaho’, ‘Varsham’, ‘Darling’ and ‘Mr Perfect’ among others, is now gearing up for his next ‘Adipurush’, which he says is sentimentally a very important project for his life and that it’s more than just a film.

‘Adipurush’, which translates to ‘The First Man’, is a Hindu historical film based on the epic Ramayana directed by Om Raut. It also stars Kriti Sanon and Saif Ali Khan. According to reports, the movie is one of the most expensive Indian films ever made.

Talking about his slate of upcoming films to IANS, Prabhas shared: “‘Adipurush’ sentimentally is a very important project for my life. Om Raut, luckily I have a very good director. I had called him after three days and asked ‘should I do it?’ because if I do make mistake it will be very wrong.”

The star, who has featured in Forbes India’s Celebrity 100 list three times since 2015, stressed that ‘Adipurush’ is more than just a film.

He asserted: “It is not just a film.”

“It is not a film, it is something very important and everyone will be having a look at it. I was really frightened of it and is very important for me. It is something else I feel.”

The 42-year-old star has had his share of hits and misses in a career spanning over two decades. Do box office numbers matter to Prabhas, who is often referred as “Darling” by his fans?

“Yes. I can’t get every ‘Baahubali’ as a film… But the budgets and the people’s acceptance is very important. The box office can be told like that. It does not mean I break records nothing like that but how much I am reaching in every part… How many people are disappointed, happy or super excited that I can only know through box office. It is important.”

Talking about having regrets in his journey in cinema, Prabhas shared: “So regrets… When your film doesn’t do so well always before also after also you feel maybe somewhere I should have concentrated or we should have done that… It is a process of my profession otherwise I don’t have so much regrets.”

Prabhas and his film ‘Baahubali’ opened the floodgates for pan-India films and helped in exchanging talents all across the country. He agrees that now is the time to take Indian cinema to the next level.

“I think it’s time we need to make Indian films or we need to cross India and go global. I think the time has come maybe it started with ‘Baahubali’ and S.S. Rajamouli… (‘Baahubaali’ director) It matters for me and my life and the crew. It changed a lot for us.”

“It is time we need to become one Indian cinema and we need to cross the Indian borders and go worldwide.”

Rebelstar Prabhas is juggling between the sets of Adipurush and Salaar. The pan-Indian actor allocated 62 days of his dates for Adipurush, a mythological drama that banks much on VFX work. The entire shooting portions of the film will be completed by the end of November and Prabhas will shift his focus on Salaar directed by Prashanth Neel. Prabhas’ upcoming movie Radhe Shyam is announced for January 14th 2022 release in all the Indian languages.

Young Rebelstar Prabhas is done with the shoot of Radhe Shyam and he is focused on two films: Adipurush and Salaar. He completed a three-week schedule of Salaar in Hyderabad and Prabhas is now back to the sets of Adipurush. The latest schedule of the film started in Mumbai and Prabhas, Kriti Sanon are shooting for the film in a special set that is constructed in the outskirts of Mumbai.

The shoot will continue for the next two weeks in the set and Saif Ali Khan will return back to the sets at a later date.
