Bro worldwide closing collections – FLOP

Bro has ended it’s run worldwide with a distributor share of 60.8 Cr (67.7 cr including GST). The film is a flop at the box-office with losses for all the buyers. After a decent opening weekend the film couldn’t do much at the boxoffice though open second weekend has helped it a bit for decent collection on Sunday. Pawan Kalyan latest films are often not succeeding and the last hit he delivered is 10 years back (Attarintiki Daredi).

Bro. Shyam Babu Role Ripples AP Politics: From Cameo to Full-Length

0

Comedian Pruthvi’s recent cameo role as “Shyam Babu” in the movie “Bro” has sent shockwaves through Andhra Pradesh politics. Now, he’s set to expand this role to a full-length feature in an upcoming film. Here are the details.

Notably, comedian Pruthvi portrayed the character “Shyam Babu,” widely believed to be a caricature of Ambati Rambabu, the irrigation minister of Andhra Pradesh. The minister himself publicly criticized the portrayal, even threatening to report alleged money laundering associated with the film to the Enforcement Directorate. Despite the minister’s warnings, the movie’s creators remained unfazed. In fact, his strong reaction to a brief cameo role garnered criticism from both the public and members of his own political party.

Pruthvi has now announced that another director has offered him an extended version of the same role, which will span approximately two hours in an upcoming film. While he hasn’t revealed the film’s details or its creators at this point, this announcement has captured significant attention. People are curious about how the minister will respond to this development.

Bro First Week Worldwide Collections – Poor Weekdays

BRO First Week worldwide collections

Bro has a below-par first week with a worldwide distributor share of 61.1 Cr (55.05 Cr excluding GST) and a gross of above 96 Cr. The film will cross the 100 cr gross mark this weekend. After a decent weekend, the film crashed on Monday and it has dropped further day by day. Now only hope for the film is that it has an open second weekend and that should it help to have decent collections but that won’t change the fate of the film.

The total worldwide share of the film now stands at 58.86 Cr (53.03 Cr excluding GST). Ambati Rambabu takes a dig on Trivikram

1

Andhra Pradesh Minister Ambati Rambabu conducted a media conference and made sensational comments on Trivikram, Pawan Kalyan and BRO film. There was a buzz going on social media that Pawan Kalyan passed political satires on Ambati Rambabu in his recent offering BRO. Ambati responded to the comments and he alleged Pawan Kalyan for using the names of Rambabu and Shyambabu. He also warned Trivikram saying that he will face to consequences.

Amabti Rambabu said he is planning to make a film along with a few other politicians. He indirectly explained the story indicating that the film is based on Pawan Kalyan. Ambati suggested a few titles of the film as, Pellillu – Petakulu, Tali- Egatali, Bahubarya Praveenudu, MRO – Marriages, Relationships and Offenders. Ambati Ram Babu also alleged that Pawan Kalyan is unable to satisfy both films and politics, which leads to failure. He gave an example of Sr NTR and Chiranjeevi, who were far from movies for a while when they dedicated themselves to complete politics.

Bro Crashes on First Monday – 4 days Worldwide Collections

Bro crashed on its First Monday as the film has collected a worldwide distributor share of 2.9 Cr (2.6 Cr excluding GST). In the Telugu States, the film has collected a distributor share of 2.32 Cr (2.01 Cr excluding GST) dropping 78 percent from Sunday which is huge. A 60 Percent drop from Sunday is generally bearable but here the problem is that the film had only a decent weekend thus the Monday collections should have been 50 percent of Sunday for the buyers to have some hope for recovery. Now it’s almost confirmed that the film will end up as a Disaster unless it holds very well on the weekdays showing fewer drops and a good second weekend as there is no competition. The total worldwide share of the film stands at 56.80 Cr (51.20 Cr excluding GST).

Trivikram gets trolled badly for BRO

Top director Trivikram is getting criticized badly in the recent times. He has been playing a crucial role in finalizing films for Pawan Kalyan. He penned the dialogues for Pawan’s Bheemla Nayak and Triviram’s work was not so impactful for the paycheque he took. Trivikram also penned the screenplay and dialogues for BRO, a film that featured Pawan Kalyan and Sai Dharam Tej in the lead roles. Pawan Kalyan and his mannerisms saved the film while Trivikram’s work was badly trolled.

Even the hardcore fans of PSPK have been requesting Pawan to ignore Trivikram and his work. Trivikram’s dialogues made no difference for the film. He is said to have charged Rs 15 crores for his work for BRO and he would also share the profits. This turned as a huge surprise for the work he delivered for BRO. He is getting trolled badly across the social media circles. BRO was directed by Samuthirakani and it is doing decent over the weekend.

Bro Day1 AP/TS Collections – Average Opening

Bro Has a very average opening day with a distributor share of 20.40 Cr, 22.96 Cr (including GST). Comparatively, Bheemla Nayak has collected 24.80 Cr (27.8 Cr including GST). The film had a good opening in Hyderabad City, UA, West. Even Other areas like Krishna are good but the problem is there is no hike for the film and thus the numbers will be on the lower side. Ceded opening is below par for the film. Nizam districts also haven’t performed like Ceeded. Overall the opening is very average considering the rates the film has been sold for. The film has good bookings today as there is a public holiday and the overall weekend should also be good.

BRO Movie Review – An Average film

Bro Movie Review

Bro Movie Review

Telugu360 Rating: 2.5/5

Powerstar Pawan Kalyan and his nephew Sai Dharam Tej are teaming up for the first time in BRO. The film directed by Samuthirakani is inspired by the Tamil film Vinodaya Sitham. BRO is carrying decent expectations and is hitting the screens today. Ketika Sharma and Priya Prakash Warrier played other important roles. Top director Trivikram worked on the screenplay and dialogues for the Telugu version. Bollywood beauty Urvashi Rautela danced for a special number. People Media Factory and Zee Studios are the producers. Here is the review

Story: Mark alias Markandeyulu (Sai Dharam Tej) is the breadwinner of the family. After losing his father at a young age, Mark raises his brother and two sisters. Mark is a principled family head who is loved by all at home and in the office. The fantasy turn in the story is his happy life abruptly ending in an accident and since then backed by the TIME character (played by Pawan Kalyan). Mark gets a 90-day extension to his life and the rest of the story is what happens in the 90-day grace period.

Analysis:

BRO film has been adapted from a Tamil film called ‘Vinodhaya Sitham’. Directed by the same director Samuthirakani, who handled the original, this Telugu film ‘BRO’ outcome is a mixed bag. To improvise the film on the commercial front, the Telugu version team has overly dependent on power star pawan kalyan’s charismatic past. The writing team has compiled all Pawan Kalyan hit songs, and inserted them throughout the film sometimes perfectly syncs with the context, sometimes forcibly. In the first half the theme worked out and appeared entertaining. Pawan Kalyan as TIME shows up in various characters and entertains fans. His costumes and histrionics are of his top-class form. The subtle political flavor dialogues are smartly embedded without being out of place.

The main story is philosophical in nature, the climax summarizes the essence of modern days life very well. However, this essence of the film is overshadowed by elements added to appeal to Pawan’s fans. At some point, this film appears as if we are watching a Pawan Kalyan AV played in audio functions or in prerelease functions. There is not much scope for songs, but the songs that exist are decent. Production values by ‘people media factory’ are adequate. The VFX work could have been better though. Trivikram’s  improvisation doesn’t help much other than inserting fans stuff

Performances:

Pawan Kalyan rescues this film with his screen presence.  Sai Dharam Tej acted adequately as Mark. However, in the dance sequences apparently, he is not comfortable yet. Brahmanandam appears in one scene, and it is a good one. Vennela Kishore and Tanikella Bharani had very limited roles. Primarily the entire film is carried out between Pawan and Sai Dharam Tej.

Positives:

Pawan Kalyan Screen Presence
Pawan Hit Songs as a backdrop to a few scenes.
Entertainment in the First half
Crisp Run Time

Negatives :

Shallow story
Overstuffed fans elements
The original story lost its flavor.

Verdict:

Bro film works only for fans, subpar experience for all others. While trying to commercially elevate Pawan’s character, the writing team has overstuffed the fan elements aspect and lost the original soul of the film. Thaman’s energetic background score and Pawan’s past hit songs keep this film alive. An average film AT THE BEST!

Sai Dharam Tej To Take Break

1

Sai Dharam Tej is actively participating in the promotions of BRO and he is interacting with the media. As part of it, he said that he is going to go on a break for six months after the release of BRO. The film is an official remake of Vinodhaya Sitham. Sai Tej is sharing the screen with his uncle Pawan Kalyan and the film is directed by Samuthirakani. Bro is scheduled for July 28th release.

Jaanavule, the second single from BRO has got a bad response and netizens have trolled Sai Tej for his non-energetic dance. This has reached the hero. Sai Tej has accepted it and said he might have done it better. For this reason, to gain physical fitness, he will take a short break and will be soon before the camera. His project with Sampath Nandi will be on hold till the actor is back on sets. Sai Tej said that he will return after attaining physical fitness and when he can give his best performance on screen. Back in 2021, Sai Tej met with an accident and was bedridden for months.

Bro has all elements that can pull the crowds to theatres: People Media Factory TG Vishwa Prasad

Much anticipated film Bro starring Pawan Kalyan and Sai Dharam Tej in the lead roles is the next big Tollywood film coming under the banner People Media Factory, one of the leading production houses in Telugu cinema.

The production banner has joined hands with ZEE Studios for Bro which is written and directed by Samuthirakani. Trivikram penned the screenplay and dialogues for the film which is scheduled to cinemas all across the globe on July 28. In an interview with media on Wednesday, People Media Factory founder TG Vishwa Prasad shared his experience on working with one of the prestigious projects involving two big stars from the mega family.

Firstly, please tell us how Bro has come to you. “When we were looking for the right project, Trivikram garu referred the project to us after watching the original work of Samithirakani in Tamil. Taking his advice we moved forward. Definitely, Bro is one of the largest releases for People Media Factory. Working with someone like Powerstar Pawan Kalyan is very prestigious to all of us.”

The Tamil original Vinodhaya Sitham is a very small film, shot in the duration of just 20 days. How is this remake film in Telugu going to be?

“Definitely, Bro has a different span altogether. It is mounted on a bigger scale. It banks on its story solely, however, the songs and family emotions that are shown in the film will entertain audiences in a big way. Bro has commercial elements to ensure that it suits our audiences. The soul of the movie is the same as Vinodhaya Sitha. But the screenplay and commercial elements are different.

There’s an argument that remakes have no scope because of the wide reach of OTT platforms. What are your thoughts about it?

It’s a completely different subject to debate. It’s not that there’s no opportunity to showcase our talent in remakes. But in Bro, you will get to see the difference compared to the original film Vinodhaya Sitham. That’s all I can say.

Usually, when you remake a film which has a feel-good factor, the soul of the story sometimes gets failed to translate. How successful were you in handling this challenge in Bro as a producer?

I can say Bro will be super successful when it arrives in cinemas. In that perspective, I am not saying Samuthirakani wasn’t done in Tamil. But Kalyan’s character and his performance give that impact and new experience to audiences. I actually haven’t watched the Tamil original film yet. With the first six minutes of introduction, Pawan Kalyan will be there in the film throughout the runtime.

Usually, Powerstar fans would like to see him in massy roles, but Bro seems to be a message-oriented film. Would you think fans would come to theatres to watch it?

It has a very strong emotions and strong bonding. Bro will certainly reach the expectations of the audiences.

Pawan Kalyan was able to wrap the shooting on time for Bro compared to his other projects. What was the reason behind this?

He gave his dates to all his other films, so we could wrap the shooting ahead of everyone. Every movie has a schedule and time limit, I am happy that we were able to complete the film and bring it out.

Usually, casting two heroes from the same family might have been a difficult task for you. Their real-life images are perceived more than their onscreen characters. So how have you managed it being a producer?

Terrific emotions are portrayed on the screen by both actors. I can’t comment on their real-life images. But at the end of the day, the product matters to me. Probably, their real-time image might have helped us in a big way.

Was Sai Dharam your first choice?

Yes, he was our first choice.

Usually, projects like Bro would have the pains of remake rights, budget scale, and handling two big heroes on board. How smooth was it for you to take care of all these things?

It was planned and executed well within our estimated budget. It’s going to be a profitable venture for People Media Factory and for the stakeholders who are involved in it.

There’s a sort of political turmoil in Andhra Pradesh with the involvement of Pawan Kalyan garu. Will there be any impact on Bro?

Nothing new, I hope. If at all we face any eventuality, we have to deal with it, nothing else that we could do as far as film is concerned.

Producer TG Vishwa Prasad further said that he would see films and politics differently. “There might be a few incidents which had an impact on films. Generally, I don’t think Bro would face such a situation in Andhra Pradesh. When Vakeel Saab was released in theatres, it suffered. I don’t think that would repeat again. And no proposal was made to increase the ticket prices in theatres since Bro is produced well within our budget. There’s no need to demand an extra amount. No extra shows sought from the State government”

S Thaman said a promotional song is about to be released. When is it expected?

Next, we’re working on the trailer. We have already apprised you about the situation that we wrapped up the shoot in a squeezed schedule. Graphics work has delayed the other content which has to be released. Once it is done, we will release other promotional songs and content related to Bro. The pre-release event is on July 25. Everything is being planned accordingly. About paid-premiers, nothing is planned as such. We’d intimate you once it is done.

There’s a talk that there are no buyers in overseas. What would you say about it?

Before coming into Tollywood, I started with an overseas business. Back then, we wouldn’t get Telugu films in Seattle. So first, I used to buy the rights of a movie. And then release it in theatres. I don’t directly do it, I’ve a team in the USA. Now, I held back the rights of this movie Bro because it has the potential. Even if I release it a week prior to release, whole tickets get sold out.”

There was this news being peddled that People Media Factory is going to take over all other projects of Pawan Kalyan. Is it true?

No truth in that news. It’s a complete speculation.

Are you making any efforts to work with other big stars in the Telugu film industry?

“If there’s any dream that I have, it is certainly Megastar Chiranjeevi garu. I’d want to work with him, of course. And other actors, that’s my effort. Since childhood, I have been a big fan of Megastar.”

You have been doing small and large-scale films. How you differentiate the risk factor in both segments?

“It’s been more than five years since I’ve come in the film industry. We have been putting efforts for a long time. Small films certainly have risks involved. Big films bring good profits before you actually release them. Small films have that risk, and you have to live with the risks. As per my knowledge, there are no risks in big films. But you don’t know until you face it.”

Like you did it overseas, have you planned to release it on your own in Telugu States?

Exactly, I can’t tell you. But we may do it in a specific region. It could be Krishna or Guntur.

How’s your journey been in films, coming from a totally different background of the corporate sector? The film industry is something which is yet to be streamlined. How do you see this as a businessman?

“My experience is very positive. Bro is our 25th movie to be precise. And we have set a goal of making the fastest 100 films, very likely by the end of next year we will complete 50. As of now, we have five films which have completed shooting and are ready to be released in theatres. Around 15 are in various stages of production. As many as 30 films are in backend planning. As of now, five OTT movies are underway.”

He further said that the pre-release function of Bro will be held on July 25 at Shilpakala Vedika.

Do you have plans to foray into Bollywood?

We’ve planned it well during Adipurush itself. And with Sandeep Reddy Vanga’s film ‘Spirit’ with Prabhas is in the pipeline, we are planning to set up an office in Mumbai very soon. People Media Factory will produce four to five Bollywood films in a year.

The content factory that is set up by People Media Factory is aimed at bringing out originals from our end, he said. “As one of you rightly asked, what am I interested in – remakes or originals?

The Content factory takes care of these things in future. As of now, we have some 25 films ready to go on the sets. I have already done 25 films with the release of Bro on July 28. People Media Factory has fifty films ready in its kitty. Our plan further is to ensure that new content is produced from the Content factory.”

Mega Films struggling for Buzz

1

Four Mega films: BRO, Bhola Shankar, Adikeshava and Gaandeevadhari Arjuna are heading for release in a gap of four weeks in Tollywood. Surprisingly, all these films are struggling for buzz and they would feature Mega heroes Pawan Kalyan, Sai Dharam Tej, Chiranjeevi, Vaishnav Tej and Varun Tej respectively in these films. The promotional content of BRO and Bhola Shankar are out but they could not live up to the expectations.

All the focus now lies on the trailers of these films. Though Megastar and Powerstar can pull off the crowds and register massive openings, the buzz for BRO and Bhola Shankar are quite low. Vaishnav Tej too delivered two flops after Uppena. Varun Tej too is struggling for success and he has high hopes on Gaandeevadhari Arjuna. We have to wait to see how these films would perform at the box-office.

Sai Dharam Tej is promoting the film all over. The film’s final runtime is locked and it lasts for 2 hours and 15 minutes. The runtime is quite crisp. Trivikram worked on the screenplay and dialogues. Pawan Kalyan’s role in BRO got increased.

The scenes between Pawan Kalyan and Sai Dharam Tej are expected to be hilarious and are the major highlights of BRO. Thaman scored the music. Ketika Sharma is paired up beside Sai Dharam Tej. People Media Factory and Zee Studios are the producers of BRO. The makers closed the theatrical and the non-theatrical deals of BRO recently.

PK’s Bro gets very good rates from distributors but ..

Pawan Kalyan – SDT’s bro is gearing up for a grand release on July 28th. Business of the film is closed in almost all areas and it has got good rates from the distributors. Nizam area is sold for 30 Cr (including GST) where as Andhra (6 areas , including GST) are sold in 40 Cr ratio. Ceeded area is sold for 13.5 Cr. These are huge rates considering the genre of the film and Pawan kalyan’s runtime as it is an extended cameo like gopala gopala.

Nizam areas recovery would be possible with ticket prices at 175/- in single screens & 295/- in multiplexes but the real problem is the recovery in Andhra Pradesh. Max ticket price in AP is at 145/- in single screens & 177/- in multiplexes and these prices are only in A centres. The ticket prices are as low at 90/- as we further go down and the recovery is not possible with these ticket proces. Generally film with big stars usually get the ticket hike and the producer needs to meet the chief minister and request him. With Pawan Kalyan being the hero this ticket hike won’t be possible with the ongoing political heat which makes the recovery tough for the buyers. Pawan Kalyan has beared the losses for Bheemla Nayak in AP area and it’s possible that BRO will also take a similar route.
