Siddharth takes a strong dig at Animal

0

During a recent event, actor Siddharth subtly criticized Ranbir Kapoor’s film ‘Animal’ and those who found his own film ‘Chithha’ disturbing. Known for his outspokenness, Siddharth shared that while no woman had expressed any discomfort or inability to watch ‘Chithha’, several men had confessed that they couldn’t handle it. He found it ironic that these same men were willing to watch a film called ‘Animal’, but were unable to cope with the themes explored in his own film. Siddharth concluded by expressing his belief that this attitude would eventually change.

Chithha, directed by SU Arun Kumar, is a powerful and gripping thriller that sheds light on the issue of child abuse. It features Siddharth, Nimisha Sajayan, and Baby Sahasra Sree in the lead roles. The film is produced by Siddharth through his own production company, Etaki Entertainment, explores the issue of family abuse and its effects, as well as ways to provide assistance to those affected.

Siddharth’s Takkar Movie Review:

Takkar Movie Review

Takkar Movie Review

Telugu360 Rating: 2/5

Siddharth is one of the most talented actors of South Indian cinema. After delivering a series of hits, his career graph went down. He made his comeback in Tollywood with Maha Samudram but the film too ended up as a disaster. He is now testing his luck with Takkar which got released today. Here is the film of Takkar:

Story:

Takkar is the story of Gunasekhar alias Guns (Siddharth) who comes from a poor family who struggles to have minimum facilities for their living. Guns gets frustrated because of his life and dreams of turning rich. He lands in Vizag for his living and starts working as a driver for a rich businessman who owns a Mercedes Benz. In an unfortunate accident, the car meets with an accident and Guns signs an agreement to work for free to compensate for the loss for the businessman. Guns decided to kill himself but fails. He then decides to fight with a gang of goons led by Rowdy Raj (Abhimanyu Singh) so that they would kill him.

In this fight, Guns will turn brave and he escapes from the spot with a Benz car. Lucky (Divyansha Kaushik) gets kidnaped and she would be hidden in the same Benz. The rest of the story is all about the story of Lucky and her kidnap story. Takkar is all about what happens next.

Analysis:

Takkar starts off narrating the story of a youngster who gets frustrated because of his poverty. The first 20 minutes is good enough and the narration looks smooth. The chasing action episode with the goons is shot well. The next episodes are a huge letdown. Siddharth fights with a Chinese villain and the episodes of the lead actor attempting suicide are quite disappointing. The first half of Takkar is a mixed bag.

The second half of the film is a huge misfire. Though Gunasekhar moves to the city with an aim to earn money and turn rich, his journey makes him aimless. The love story is poorly written and executed. The second half of Takkar has nothing much to offer. The goons gang and the Chinese gang are after the lead actor throughout the second half of the film. There are no highs and twists in the second half. The comic episodes too fail to generate smiles. The last 20 minutes of the film look dragged after Gunasekhar saves Lucky.

Performance:

Siddharth is a known actor and he does complete justice for his role. His look is new and he plays a loverboy in the second half of the film. His character is poorly written though Siddharth lived up to the expectations in the role. Divyansha Kaushik looks glamorous and her role brings a lot of confusion. Her role has different shades and this leaves the audience in confusion. Abhimanyu Singh’s role too offers nothing new. Yogi Babu’s Telugu dubbing is a huge misfire. Most of the other actors are Tamil faces and their roles will not get registered.

Takkar is a film with ok technical aspects. The camera work is good. There are a lot of songs in the film. The editing in the second half should have been better. Director Karthik starts the story on a decent note but the story gets a lot of deviations leaving the character of Guns aimless. With a lot of confusion in the second half, Takkar will not end up decent.

Verdict:

Takkar is a film that deviates badly from the major plot and it will end up as a disappointment.

“Takkar” is an exhilarating popcorn entertainer : Hero Siddharth

0

“Takkar” is an exhilarating popcorn entertainer that showcases a variety of shades and clashes. My performance in this film promises to take the audience on an unforgettable ride: Siddharth

Siddharth, renowned for his successful films like “Bommarillu” and “Nuvvostanante Nenoddantana,” is ready to captivate the audience once again with his upcoming Tamil-Telugu action romance titled “Takkar.” Helmed by Karthik G Krish and written by the same, the film stars Divyansha as the female lead. “Takkar” is a collaborative production by TG Vishwa Prasad, Abhishek Agarwal, People Media Factory, Abhishek Agarwal Arts, and Passion Studios. The action entertainer is all set to hit theaters on June 9, and the makers are planning a grand-scale release. The trailer has garnered an overwhelming response, further amplifying the anticipation surrounding the movie. “Takkar” takes the audience on an emotional rollercoaster, exploring the highs and lows of a relationship between a poor boy and a wealthy girl. While the male protagonist is a hopeless romantic, the female lead, despite her affection for him, maintains a skeptical perspective on love and marriage.

Here are the excerpts from Siddharth’s interaction with media

What is Takkar all about?

The movie revolves around the clash between two individuals. There are multiple clashes portrayed in the film, including the clash between the hero and the heroine, hero and the villain, clashes of ego, gender, age, and money. There are numerous shades in the relationship between the hero and the heroine. Circumstances force the hero to become a kidnapper, driven by the desire to make money. Frustration pushes him to ruthlessly pursue his goals. A pivotal dialogue between the son and mother encapsulates the essence of the movie. As the hero arrives in the city, he witnesses the deteriorating state of affairs. He engages in intense fights with goons as demanded by the character.

On giving importance to money

This generation seems to have a strong pursuit of money. The extravagant earnings of celebrities are well-known to everyone. However, my upbringing instilled in me the belief that happiness should take precedence over money. I was taught to find joy in music and other simple pleasures, shaping my perspective. We are venturing out to explore the beauty and happiness that the world has to offer. During my days as an assistant director, I used to receive a mere Rs 2000 and had to account for petrol bills as low as Rs 160. People often say that once you have money, you develop certain habits. However, I am not like that. I can find happiness and contentment in the simple things, and I can sleep peacefully whenever I want to. I still wear the same old clothes from my college days. This same mindset is reflected in the character portrayed in “Takkar.”

On coming back to Telugu films

All industries are constantly buzzing with activity, and Telugu cinema holds its own significant value. S.S. Rajamouli has become a brand in himself. In the past, directors used to create a hundred films, but now it takes around four years to make a single film. In Telugu cinema, if a film has strong writing at its core, it is likely to find success. Writers used to command immense respect in the industry in earlier times. If you possess talent and merit, opportunities flow freely. When people questioned why I wasn’t doing Telugu films, I responded by saying that I wouldn’t turn down a good film regardless of the language. In India, the Telugu audience has a profound love for films shown in theaters. We have a dedicated fan base that goes beyond expectations, a trend rarely seen elsewhere. Telugu fans elevate us to new heights, perceiving me as the boy next door. By collaborating with the right partners through co-productions, we can bring compelling content to the forefront. Following the COVID-19 pandemic, the industry has experienced a rapid pace of change and progress.

On calling himself a Telugu child

Wherever you go in Telangana and Andhra Pradesh, you can witness the immense love and support I receive from the people. There is a strong bond between the audience and myself, and there is no disconnect. I have established a positive connection, and I want to leverage that in my work. Certain things can be accomplished individually, while for others, I require the collaboration of partners. My dream is to create a remarkable film, and I need the freedom to bring that vision to life. In Tamil cinema, I have produced five movies, but my most significant project is yet to come. It is titled “Chinna,” and it will be produced under my own banner. I believe this film will garner numerous awards and accolades. I have proven myself and returned to the Telugu audience with a renewed energy. The pre-release events have shown promising signs, further fueling my optimism.

On getting vexed with love stories

A love story is an emotionally intense, demanding, and exhausting journey. In the industry, there is a prevailing notion that once you have done love stories, you are expected to continue in that genre exclusively. Even within the realm of love stories, some have set a standard that will influence future narratives for years to come. However, if I were to create a successful love story, I might risk being typecasted for the next decade. Therefore, if the story does not necessitate it, I question why I should engage in unnecessary battles on set.

On writing new films

Writing is an ongoing and continuous process for me. I have already prepared the sequel for “Gruham” and have many more projects in the pipeline. In our production, we actively encourage and support new writers, working with fresh and emerging talent. The writing process has evolved over time, becoming more focused on discussions, refinement, and ultimately shaping the final script. The industry has witnessed significant changes, and people are adapting to new approaches. It’s worth noting that a considerable number of recent films are based on successful predecessors. However, once you achieve fame, it’s crucial to break free from the constraints and seek new experiences. It is by living life fully that we gain fresh perspectives and unique encounters. As an actor, singer, producer, writer, and future director, I strive to explore different avenues and embrace new challenges.

On the different look in Takkar

My director, Karthik Krish, possesses an eccentricity that translates into the diverse range of looks in our projects. The specific look in “Takkar” also serves a purpose and is justified by a particular scene within the film. As an actor, I have managed to transcend the persona of Siddharth and immerse myself in a distinct character, truly embodying someone else entirely.

On making Bommarillu 2

“Bommarillu” holds a special place in my heart as an event film that has a lasting impact. Over time, it has been regarded by many as more than just a movie, almost akin to a documentary that delves deep into the intricacies of love stories. The depth of emotions portrayed in “Bommarillu” is unmatched, and finding a project that can surpass its profound impact has proven to be challenging. While we can always strive to deliver exceptional work, recreating the magic of “Bommarillu” in a sequel is an incredibly difficult task.

On next projects

Following “Takkar,” we have the eagerly anticipated “Chinna” in our home production. Additionally, I am thrilled to be a part of Shankar’s “Indian 2.” We also have “Test,” a unique film featuring the talented Madhavan and Nayantara. This film stands out from others as I have ventured into something entirely different. Furthermore, I am excited to collaborate once again with Karthik Krish on another project. By exploring different genres, I aim to bring diversity to my body of work. There is only one full-length love story in the lineup, and “Chinna” holds a special place in my heart. I look forward to discussing it in more detail at a later time. With 2023 and 2024 ahead, I am geared up for an exciting and fruitful period in my career.

‘Pan-Indian’ is a disrespectful word, says Siddharth

1

At a time when south Indian films are gaining more attention than ever before, a new term — ‘pan-Indian’ — is being used to refer to films in regional languages that are emerging as superhits as a result of being watched by masses from across the country.

While many think that describing a film as pan-Indian is actually a compliment, actor Siddharth, who has worked in films in over five languages, including Hindi, and who enjoys a huge fan following in two of the most popular film industries of the country, believes otherwise.

Draw his attention to how south Indian films are now ruling the roost and ask him if times have changed from when people looking to get into Bollywood would first make their mark in regional films, the actor shoots back, “These are given only by the people in the middle who are watching the game. Almost 15 or 16 years ago, I gave interviews. In those days, the hot topic was cross-over cinema. When will we go to Hollywood?

“At that time, I said in a Hindi interview, ‘why do you want to cross over the seas? Why don’t you want to cross over to inside India? Why don’t you first start watching films made in other languages? Why don’t you first start considering Indian films as Indian films?’ There’s no wood, no regional. As a result of that, they have come up with this comedy called pan-Indian.

“Pan-Indian is a very disrespectful word because the term is being used to describe that a regional film means there is something called an Indian film, which comes from Bollywood. That’s what it means. It means that you don’t have to qualify Hindi films with any word, but if it is coming from regional cinema, they are not just regional films but they are pan-Indian. That is nonsense! All films are Indian films.

The actor adds: “Is that to say that there was no pan-Indian cinema 15 years back? Indian cinema is Indian cinema. My boss Mani Ratnam made a film called ‘Roja’, which everybody in India saw. Nobody said it was a pan-Indian film.

“Today, my friends in Bengaluru have made ‘KGF’. I am so proud of them. ‘KGF’ is an Indian film. It is a Kannada film. You can watch it in any language you want, but it is an Indian film made by the Kannada industry.

“The term pan-India should be removed, if you ask me. It should just be called an Indian film. Otherwise, refer to it in the language it was made in.”

Siddharth goes on to say: “As a Tamil actor who has found stardom in Tamil and Telugu cinema and who comes to Bollywood, they call me south actor. Not even south Indian actor. People who are in the middle, they are the ones who are coining all these terms. So, if you ask me about the tables turning, the best technicians will make the best films.

“They will make it in whichever language they are called to make it. The great technicians of Chennai have worked in Hindi cinema. The great producers of Telugu cinema have worked in Hindi cinema. Today, the great Kannadigas of ‘KGF’ are working in Hindi cinema. If the content is good, you don’t have to give it a name. It will go everywhere.”

The actor now landed into controversy for his reply to ace shuttler Saina Nehwal’s tweet. Saina responded about the security breach of Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi and she posted “No nation can claim itself to be safe if the security of its own PM gets compromised. ‘Pitiful cowards’: Actor Siddharth on trolls attacking his mother on social media

0

Actor Siddharth, who’s hugely popular among both Tamil- and Telugu-speaking audiences, and is also known to be a critic of the BJP, lashed out at trolls on Tuesday, saying that people who repeatedly abused his mother out of hatred for him were the ones who were pretending to respect goddesses.

Taking to Twitter, Siddharth said: “Disturbing realisation. The people who have repeatedly abused my mother out of hatred for me … pretend to respect Sita Maiyya, Durga Mata and Maa Santoshi. My country, my religion, my culture … All hijacked by a bunch of pitiful, woman-hating cowards. Poor #Mother India.”

The actor, who is known to voice his thoughts boldly and stand by them, has often been the target of attacks on social media. But that hasn’t stopped him from expressing his thoughts without fear.

On another note, earlier in the day, the actor offered comforting words to one of South India’s leading music directors, Devi Sri Prasad, who was remembering his dad who had passed away six years ago.

Responding to a tweet put out by the music director, Siddharth said: “Love you Devi. Can’t believe it’s already 6 years. Wish uncle was with us today … I know how proud he must be, smiling at his amazing boy from the heavens above. Hugs, love and prayers brother.”

Actor Siddharth: Stop persecuting the film industry

0

Actor Siddharth, who recently appeared in the movie ‘Maha Samudram’ alongside Sharwanand, had written a series of tweets on Thursday questioning the government on low cap of movie ticket prices.

Siddharth suggested the Andhra Pradesh government, to calculate the average house rent and per capita consumer spending on durables, and then decide the prices of movie tickets. He also brings in, a simple example of how much money he had spent on watching a movie, when he watched a movie abroad, for the first time.

“The first time I saw a movie abroad was 25 years ago. I used my student I-card and saw a movie for 8 dollars. That was Rs. 200 at the time. Today our films match all countries in technology, talent and employment…. #SaveCinema”, Siddharth’s Tweet reads.

Going on, about the same issue, the actor wrote: “A film’s budget and scale is not decided by the consumer… It is decided by the creator and the investor. No individual has the right to decide how much anyone earns from cinema.”

“Why is it that the film industry has to constantly be seen as a problem area by governments intent on telling them how to recover their investment?” the Rang De Basanti’ star questioned.

Siddharth opined that the Government Orders for ticket rates and limits on the number of shows, which comes under the violation of the MRTP Act. “Give cinema and cinema halls a chance to survive. Please,” he appealed.

Siddharth is one among the very few actors who have taken a stand against movie ticket price issues in Andhra Pradesh. Pawan Kalyan, Nani, Chiranjeevi, and Director Raghavendra Rao are the celebrities who have openly given their statements on the issue to date.

Actor Siddharth lambastes Kohli for ‘leave India’ comments

0

Actor Siddharth came down heavily on Indian cricket team captain Virat Kohli for his “leave India” comments on a fan. It is known news that a cricket fan said to Kohli, “I enjoy watching English and Australian batsmen more than these Indian.” He also added, “Kohli is Over-rated batsman. Personally, I see nothing special in his batting.” Irked with these comments, Kohli replied “”Okay, I don’t think you should live in India then…you should go and live somewhere else, no? Why are you living in our country and loving other countries?”

Actor Siddarth came down heavily on Kohli and asked him to teach himself to think properly. He tweeted, “If you want to remain #KingKohli it may be time to teach yourself to think ‘What would Dravid say?’ before speaking in future. What an idiotic set of words to come from an India captain!”. He also added, how people troll about movies and how they respond on such tweets. He tweeted, “I don’t watch these Indian Movies. They’re so lame. I like watching Hollywood films. I only watch Bollywood. These SouthFilms are so funny. I don’t watch films. Such a waste of time’. We here these words a lot. We listen and we move along. BeLikeDravid. ”

Anyway, Kohli also responded on this controversy and tried his level best to put a full stop. He tweeted, “I guess trolling isn’t for me guys, I’ll stick to getting trolled! I spoke about how “these Indians” was mentioned in the comment and that’s all. I’m all for freedom of choice. Keep it light guys and enjoy the festive season. Love and peace to all”

Anyway, now with Kohli’s latest response, this controversy has almost come to an end.
